Wakey! Wakey! Hensa and I are up. Where are the rest of the Chicks!

Today is "Get Serious Day" for me because three weeks remain to Christmas Eve. Aaaaarrrrrggggghhhhhh! I have a Santa Advent Calendar with pockets and am thinking of putting a job of the day and a SF candy in each pocket - the candy to be eaten after the job is done.

Today - besides Mount Laundry - I will finally get my parcels mailed to the West Coast. I feel so badly not having gone out there last month but I still had the creeps over the thought of flying. The rest of the gifts are well in hand although I still have not got a clue for DH except "new underwear"! Maybe I can get him some and embroider the days of the week on them - remember those pantie sets?

Besides the parcels, I intend to do some meals for the freezer. It is just so great to take out a frozen meatloaf in the morning and know you have prepared dinner already. I also like to have stuff on hand for those inevitable drop ins. Last night some friends "dropped in" at 5:45 - 15 minutes before Scotch time! DH had made a huge batch of spaghetti sauce so we were OK - even had salad fixings. I do love having company, however, and sometimes impromptu meals are more fun as I don't feel I have to "do a Martha".

Today will be a strict OP day for me as the scale is still stuck!

Hope you all have a great day.

Good Morning Ruth and all those to come!

I know how you feel Ruth, I am delayed in getting out my packages as well. Today I plan on finishing them up (crossing fingers) and getting them out.

Today is a busy day all around. I'm expecting my contractor in about half an hour and we are finally installing subflooring in the basement. We have very little money left after this job so I'm doing an a la Trading Spaces and painting the floor! I'm sure it will look really nice. I am painting the centre terracotta and the border around the outside a deep mustard yellow. The walls are also going to be basecoated the same mustard yellow and I'm making a glaze out of the terracotta and smooshing it on. I'm hoping to have the space look cosy, warm, and inviting. Looks like I'll be rolling up my painting sleeves by the end of the week if all goes well! :)

Better run and get the rest of my laundry done--I won't have laundry room access once he starts! :)

Have a great OP daychicks! :) :) :)

Morning Everyone and Welcome Back Hensa!!!

Ruth and Pooky sound like you are planning on being very busy!!!! It is Monday back to school here!!! The kids haven't come in yet so I thought that I would put in a quick post!!! It is sunny and going to be almost 60 today!!!!! NOT Christmasy weather, but sure makes the 48 mile drive to school easier for me!!! Have rededicated myself to the diet world and am going to make a really hard run at it here before Christmas. I am NOT going to the relatives with added poundage!!!! My son has a basketball game tonight at 6:00 and I usually do better when I am away from the fridge. If I get through the evenings I can do this!!!!!! Hope everyone has a good day.

 Hensa  Welcome back!!!

Today is going to be a day in the city with the ladies. My aunties, my mom and I go in to Portland once a month to have our hair done (by the BEST hairdresser in the Pac NW) and have lunch. This will be my last trip with them since I am moving next weekend.

Ruth, you sound so busy. I wish I was closer so I could come help!

Pooky, you are SO talented! I bet your floor is going to look awesome!

Have a great day to you all and those to come!

Good afternoon Ladies!

Too busy to post this morning. Had a great and very busy weekend, the boys had two boy scout events and they each had a soccer game, plus I just had to go the the Annual Craft Show at Wings stadium. 3 ice rinks full of crafts, along with hallways and lounge areas! Lots of great stuff, but way too many people.

Boys have cub scouts tonight and I have volleyball.

I am having a difficult time getting into the holiday decorating spirit. DH did the outside, but our home is way too messy to do any decorating, it would just end up looking messy and cluttered. Gotta get going before the boys get too upset with me.

have a great op day!

Happy Monday All!

Just checking in between bouts with the kitchen cabinets still to be dealt with!

Welcome back Hensa! You'e been missed around here.

Pooky, I LOVE Trading Spaces! I'm redoing my kitchen cabinets right now and keep thinking that some of those designers just wouldn't approve of my boring old white! They don't live here though, so I guess it maters what I want. My favorite episode is still the one where the designer made the moss wall. Ick! Did you see that one?

You all sound so busy. Guess it goes with the season. I braved a big ol' mall this weekend. Note that I hate crowds and shopping isn't my favorite thing, so it was a very brave thing to do. And very stupid too! From now on I figure that if I can't get it in the small town closest to me or online, I don't need it!

Gotta go! Drink your water and just say no to the sweets!
