GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!
Will post my usual morning post sometime later, but wanted to make sure I got our MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY done early in the morning, so here's my contribution for MM, there's two of them today:
Sincere and persistent enthusiasm can overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Whatever you're truly enthusiastic about will become stronger and more valuable in your life.
Enthusiasm is contagious. It inspires and motivates. It is filled with energy and always coming up with new ideas. It looks for ways to be more effective.
There are certain things you can get enthusiastic about. What are they? Are you taking full advantage of the power of your own enthusiasm, or are you keeping that enthusiasm hidden away where it does no one any good?
Take a close look at successful people and you'll find people who are enthusiastic about what they're doing. There are things in your life about which you can be just as enthusiastic. Find them, uncover them, get them out in the open and enjoy the success that genuine enthusiasm will bring.
-- Ralph Marston

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense."
~Ralph Waldo Emerson~
Have a wonderful day and a fabulous week!

It's only 6:30 in the morn. Yikes!
Well, Debelli's motivational piece on Enthusiasm struck a chord with me today. I've been sick more than not for the past several months and hadn't exercised or paid a lot of attention to my eating plan. As I started feeling better last week, I decided to really get back on track. Started re-reading fitness magazines and stuff on the internet and got really excited--"ENTHUSIASTIC". I really, really want to do well and get myself healthier and stronger. I really feel good, like I can make anything happen. So, as the piece says, "Enthusiasm is contagious. It inspires and motivates. It is filled with energy and always coming up with new ideas. It looks for ways to be more effective." I can really see this with myself.
Thanks Deb. Reading that piece got me even more "enthusiastic" about sticking with my goals.
I had the weirdest dreams last night. I don't remember everything, but they involved THIS FORUM. Am I addicted to here or what??!! :dizzy: I even got up in the middle of the night, but resumed dreaming of this place. All I can remember is seeing the names of people from this forum. I'd also see the faces of those who've posted pics. It was very strange.
Had a good day yesterday. I'm getting back into drinking my litres of water. I don't feel so bloated. Got in my half hour on "Ellie" the elliptical. Still very pleased I can do that whole half hour. :D
I had come to the realization that I was an evening muncher--had to have my salty crunchy snacks while watching TV. The past couple of nights I've done my exercise while watching TV. When I'm done, I just want water or grab something good (last night was 3 mandarins). DH still has his chips and I will admit, I took 3 or 4, but that's all I wanted and I stopped! Really didn't want any more after that. So I guess I'm getting a double bonus with the exercise--it'll make me fit and help me lose weight AND it curbs my munchies which will also help me lose weight!
We have unseasonably warm temperatures here. It's supposed to get to about 50 F today! At least we don't have to shovel any white stuff yet, but I really wanted to get the ice rink built! Can't rush mother nature!
LAMAP take care of yourself. Your body needs proper sleep as well as exercise. I hope you can get back into a good routine soon.
DEBELLI I really do like coming to the board. It does help a lot. I think I've found it a little easier this past week or so, cause not so many people are here, so it makes it easier for me to keep track. I will have to limit my time here tho. Well, limit my time on the computer. I don't get too much done--I'm a junkie I guess!:o So if I completely shut down the computer, I'm not tempted to sit down in front of it. But I will try to get here more often.
The elliptical isn't that difficult to do, NOW!!:^: When we first got it, I could only do 5 minutes on the 1st tension level. It took me about a week of adding on a few minutes each time to get to a half hour--still on first tension level. After about another week, I could do most of the built in programs--one goes up to #6 tension for quite a while. I'm not tempting that one any time soon. I'm doing a program that goes to #5 and I find that challenging enough. The machine goes to # 10 tension. You can do your own thing on it, not just the built in programs. I have a bad knee that I was putting a brace on to walk (outside or treadmill) but find I don't have to wear it with the elliptical. In fact, I noticed before I stopped exercising a couple of months ago, that my knee seemed to have gotten stronger and no longer bothered me. After 2 months of doing nothing, the knee hurts again, so I'm hoping to build it up again.
Enough for now. Must be the new coffee making me chatty! Hope everyone has a GREAT MONDAY! I'll try to check in later.

Good morning everyone. I feel good this morning, and like Zanne, loved the quotes. I am enthusiastic, and it does make all the difference. Today I will share my enthusiasm with a friend.
The other quote, about being done with the day, I will pass on to my 16 year old son. He got in trouble this past week-end, and I want him to take it in and then move on. As a footnote, although Geoffrey and I can get very upset when we hit those bumps with our son, I did not go off plan!!! That's the true test I think.
I read The Glucose Revolution this past week. Got confused for about a day, then made a decision to simply stick with the plan from Sugar Busters. The Glucose Revolution has more flexible boundaries, and for now, I think I need more structure. But it was interesting reading, and I do feel more educated about this subject.
I will read the board tonight, and hear everyone's news. Have a great day.

Morning Again:wave:
Been a bit of a busy morning for me. Had to take Michael to school then rush back to be able to get in my walk, which I did in 46:45, not my best time, but not too shabby either. Took Lauren to school and have been on the phone and computer ever since. Can't believe it's almost 11am, and probably, will be Noon before I finish this post.
Seems the scale is on an upward swing today, up 1.5 from yesterday, that means I'll go up a little more before coming back down sometime next week:rolleyes:
I submitted the 4 recipes I thought would be good for the agave syrup label. My BBQ SAUCE, FRUIT SMOOTHIE, BRAN MUFFINS & ALMOND GRANOLA, which I must say, the Almond Granola came out soooo good! It's to die for! I had 4 ounces:eek: this morning! Anyhow, I don't think she got my e-mail yet, but I'm hoping they are all okay with her. No price was finalized so I feel this was sent out somewhat blindly, but I hope all will be fine and this will just be the start.
THEN, I was on the phone with FRED, this gentleman that owns this company that has the shirts that I mentioned about 3 weeks ago. He sent me one of the shirts that says DRIVE WITH CAUTION, YIELD, WALKER IN ROAD Being that I've sold T-shirts in the past, I was quite surprised at the wonderful quality of this shirt! I actually wore a white shirt the other day when I went to walk-something unheard of for me! Anyhow, I called him today to thank him and got into a discussion, blah, blah, blah and the bottom line is, he may be interested in having me rep his line down here in South Florida!!!! Another income possibility!! He's going to get some info down to me ASAP and I"m going to see what I can do with it locally-cross your fingers for me gals!!
Wanted to let you know that I got an e-mail from ANN (AMSER). I think I mentioned her brother and SIL were in a car wreck a few weeks ago and he's been in the hospital due to this. Anyhow, here's her latest e-mail:
Dear friends,
Many of you know about the car wreck my brother, Johnny was in the weekend before Thanksgiving. Well, tomorrow he goes back into the hospital at 5am for surgery on his broken leg and arm. His leg is the biggest concern. There are many fractures in his shin bone, and damaged ligaments going into his knee. His knee is badly damaged. Of course noone knows what the future holds, but the Drs aren't sure how well his leg will recover and function as nornal. They anticipate the surgery lasting anywhere from 8-10 hours. Please, I ask you all to keep him, his wife, Amelia, his son, Chris who has been there with them to give them suppand, the rest of us - his family - AND the doctors etc who will be operating on Johnny, in your prayers. My brother has a long road ahead of him with recovery and rehab. We have truly been saddened by this.
Thank you all for reading this and being such good friends.
All my love,
Ann
She's hoping to be back on the board with us soon:)
I also heard from QUILTER and she too is hoping to get back with us in the near future:)
My Mom sent this to me today-too cute not to pass along:
When I'm an old lady, I'll live with each kid,
And bring so much happiness... just as they did.
I want to pay back all the joy they've provided,
Returning each deed. Oh, they'll be so excited!
(When I'm an old lady and live with my kids)
I'll write on the wall with reds, whites and blues,
And bounce on the furniture wearing my shoes.
I'll drink from the carton and then leave it out.
I'll stuff all the toilets and oh, how they'll shout!
(When I'm an old lady and live with my kids)
When they're on the phone and just out of reach,
I'll get into things like sugar and bleach,
Oh, they'll snap their fingers and then shake their head,
And when that is done I'll hide under the bed!
(When I'm an old lady and live with my kids)
When they cook dinner and call me to eat,
I'll not eat my green beans or salad or meat.
I'll gag on my okra, spill milk on the table,
And when they get angry I'll run... if I'm able!
(When I'm an old lady and live with my kids)
I'll sit close to the TV, through the channels I'll click,
I'll cross both my eyes just to see if they stick.
I'll take off my socks and throw one away,
And play in the mud 'til the end of the day!
(When I'm an old lady and live with my kids)
And later in bed, I'll lay back and sigh,
I'll thank God in prayer and then close my eyes.
My kids will look down with a smile slowly creeping,
And say with a groan.
"She's so sweet when she's sleeping!"
(When I'm an old lady and live with my kids)
There are a few new features on the board, check out SUZANNE'S STICKY MESSAGE for more details. Also, the direct link to the chat room has been removed, but you can still easily get to the chat room by clicking on CHAT. She's suppose to make it so we won't have to go through the entry room first, but I just checked and so far, that hasn't happened. Just hate going through there-people think we're rude if we don't stop to chat and just use it as an entry for our room.
LAMAP, I commend you for getting in that 3 mile walk despite being overly tired-good for you:D LOL! ME stands for Middle Eastern-sorry 'bout that-hope you didn't wrack your brains too much trying to figure that one out.
ZANNE, so glad you liked the MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY thoughts-I love RM's quotes-what insight that man has and boy, does he have a way with words!!! I, like you, seem to find that exercise curbs my appetite for quite a while. I may start out hungry, but when I get back that feeling seems to of disappeared. Yes, it's easier to reply to the board when it's slow-but that isn't always the case, so you do what you can, when you can-we all understand that it's not easy for everyone to come on every day and post a big message like I do-if I had a job, I surely would be able to be on here as much as I am.
CRICKETT, I read the GLUCOSE REVOLUTION LIFE PLAN, the lastest book and found many things confusing. I read everything I can get my hands on but ultimately, it's up to us how to use the information that we read. I've done well with just following Montignac/SB and that's about what I'm going to stay with the rest of my life-as they say, if it ain't broke, why fix it!!!!
Okay, I've GOT to get in the shower, the morning is almost gone!!!
I'll check in later!

Hi All,
I've been MIA for about a week. Have been so busy that getting to the board was just impossible. I spent almost a whole day finishing the last of my major Christmas gifts. I went to a paint your own pottery place and did 3 items which I think my mother, son, and husband will like. Get to pick them up later this week, and am really hoping that they will turn out like I imagine them to be like.
Spent the weekend up in Gainesville. Went to the big football game on Sat. afternoon and the VOLume was really loud. We were really inVOLved in rooting our team on. But it was like a mini-reVOLution on the field, and when it was all over our team lost. :( Actually, UT played great, and the Gators were beat on both sides of the line. So, I wish the VOLs good luck in Atlanta, and say that they deserved the win in Gainesville because they were the better team that day. It WAS an exciting game down to the end, and no one left the stadium early.
Saw where Missy's team won the SEC west division. Missy, are you still doing SB? Haven't seen you on the board for a while. Congratulations on the LSU win, and my condolences to Fillise and . . . hmmm, I always get a brain cramp. I cannot, for the life of me, remember who that other AU fan is. Anyway, I know how disappointed you are, and my sympathies are with you. You have a nice coach and a nice little town there in Auburn, and know you bleed Navy and Orange.
The Tigers may give the Volunteers a little run for their money as they have come on strong at the end of the season. I don't know who to root for on this game: the UT fans are probably the worst in the SEC in my opinion and the opinions I've heard from other fans as we've travelled to other venues. They are absolutely vicious (except for BOB, of course) when they win at home. And they often end up with Volsheimers disease at the end of the season when they do not end up in Atlanta; ie. "we really are the best, but we just inadvertantly lost a game at a bad time" routine. The Tigers are pretty good fans for the most part, friendly and gracious even in victory. However, there are some incidents, as happened at this weekends game! The funniest thing that ever happened to me at Tiger Stadium was when we were sitting in front of a VERY vocal LSU fan who used a ton of 4 letter words as he screamed against the Gators and for the Tigers. At the half time I casually got into a conversation with him, and remarked that I could tell that he was an English major there at LSU. He got my drift and graciously apologized for his language and was a gentleman from there on out.
Anyway, if I HAD to pick a team, I guess I'd root harder for UT because they have a greater chance to get to the RoseBowl, and that would make the SEC look all that much better. I always pull for SEC teams, no matter who, when they are not playing the Gators or another SEC team, no matter what I think of their fans or their coach! It's just the SEC that I want to come out on top.
Our hot water heater broke and we are WO hot water so am waiting on the plumber, who will be coming sometime this afternoon, I hope. So, I'll have to miss my scheduled workout today. I've been eating just OK. Eating out is always harder, and I have not been 100% OP. Back on the wagon today, though. I've succeeded at keeping the VOLume of food just right, though, and have not left any meal feeling stuffed. I just stuck to appetizer sized portions when we went out for dinner this weekend.
I got to use my French today when a client came into the crisis pregnancy center. She was from Haiti and spoke mostly Creole, which is similar to French. I was actually able to have a simple conversation with her, regarding setting an appointment, the time, etc. Hooray for me!
Well, gotta go. All you non-sports fans, thanks for being patient with my discussion with my SEC friends.
I'm going up to Gainesville again this Wednesday for a big basketball game-Gators vs. Mich. St. Will be a good game, I hope. It's nice to have a team that is good in more than one sport.
Take care, all, and have a great SB day.
PS. BTW, Where is SparkleScamp?. I have really missed her on the board. She is a good writer and I always enjoyed reading her posts.
SPARKLE, where are you?

EVENING EVERYBUDDY!!! :D
GATOR Wasn't that a great game? From start to finish, it was so exciting from my seat up on the TV screen, and I can't even imagine being right there smack dab in the middle of all the SWAMP CABBAGE :dizzy:
And just so you know? I'm all blow about not pulling for FLA in a game where they are representing the SEC...but it's a different storey when they play in the conference!!!
Great description in your post...VOL-BULOUS!!!! ;)
ZANNE If you're having dreams about this bunch, I can almost promise you a nightmare when you got to my face!
DEB Tell Eli that's ok if he can't do the extra 40%, but if he can pull it off, great....T SHIRT VENDOR???? there is no end to your talents...?????
I only bought PITA, but I was sniffing everything..I'll inquire about your pizza seasoning and let you know...
LAURIE After the holidays, we have to plan our little get together..of course, that will be season and working at a hospital, I can appreciate not having any free time! But sooner or later, we WILL get together...
HEY...CRICKETT!!! Did I miss just where it is you live? I know near Ashville, but where?
Marie I haven't tried the LATKES but I agree, they sure do sound good. I thought about changing to those instead of HUMMUS as I was fixing it last night...
I'm off to fix SKEETER a little supper...I'll check in later.

Good evening ladies!
Had a great day - hopped right back on plan after my few MINOR drifts off plan this weekend.:D It feels so good - eventhough I still look the same - I feel skinny!!
GATOR: I posted this past week for the first time in a long time! I started back OP last Monday. I wrote to you on Sunday - so go check it out! I know it's hard for you to pick a team to root for - being that you love The BOBster and me soooo much! But, you know who I'm rooting for! GEAUX TIGERS! I mailed off my form so that we will get our Sugar Bowl tickets if we win! That's the only bowl game we will make - didn't choose any other ones. It's the easiest being that it's right there in New orleans and we wouldn't have to travel. I'm off but my hubby has to work New Year's Eve and the day after. So, we are really hoping for a win this weekend!
Well, I've got to run - I'll talk to you ladies tomorrow!! Have a great day tomorrow!

hi everyone,
went to x-mas party at work on sat.night. Now everyone has seen me at work and they all know i lost 50lbs. Well i guess the scrubs i wear everyday must hide some of the loss. I wore a black halter type top black pants and a long jacket. I was not prepared for the reaction i got from everyone. it felt good hearing all the praise but you would think that they had not seen me in months. they were still talking today. bkmomma looked very hot herself. her pants were falling off her. Well went for walk today the first time in a week it felt good i walked 8 miles in 2hrs My mom made german christmas cookies today there are currently 180 cookies sitting in my kitchen iam taking them to work and giving some as gifts i can resist any sweet but these are killing me these are my most absolute favorite thing in the whole wide world i have waited fro these cookies since last year they are leaving my house tomm. I told my husband if he wants some he better take some when iam not looking and then hide them from me well i did eat one when i came home from my walk iam staying out of the kitchen the rest of the evening.
bye for now

Well, I think I'm getting into a routine! Whoo Hoo! I can come here early in the morning (6:00)after DH goes to work and before DS gets up; My elliptical I do when DS goes to bed. Still have to try to keep away from the computer in the day or nothing would get done!;)
Had a good day yesterday. Seems everything is coming together: the eating, the water, the exercise. I feel so much better. I've also NOT stepped on the scale the past couple of mornings! I'm usually on a couple of times just after I get up. Hope I remember tomorrow for WIW!
CRICKETT I have read the Glucose Revolution and the newer Glucose Revolution Life Plan. They got me more confused too. Debelli's right, we all just have to find the way that works for us. Sounds like you've figured out what will work for you. I know I eat only about 75-80% OP, but I'm ok with that. I don't feel bloated anymore, and if I want to try a little bit of an "illegal" food, I do; but just a taste. Then I don't feel deprived which can send me on a binge of lots of illegal stuff.
DEBELLI How very exciting for you to have these business ventures come your way! I hope you do very well with them. The poem your mom sent was great. I'm gonna have to pass that on.
GATOR I hope your hot water tank is fixxed! Kind of a pain to have to boil water for everything. I'm not into college ball, but your enthusiasm about it gives me a smile.
BOB Nope, no nightmares!!!! It would have to be something really, really scary. I just had this sense of someone needing help.
FRUIT You're really on a roll coming to the board! Glad you had a good day and are feeling good!
ZSU WOW! 50 lbs! WAY TO GO! And 8 miles in 2 hours. That's great. Good for you in keeping away from the cookies. Sometimes when you see someone everyday, you don't notice really how much they've changed. So since your coworkers see you every day in scrubs, it didn't really register with them how much you lost till they saw you in your sexy clothes.
Look at that. I'm all caught up. I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Morning Ladies! I just have a quick minute to post. Well, went to Dr. yesterday afternoon and had to meet the dreaded scale! But was suprised to see I was down a pound and that was mid day so I was happy! Got the Christmas lights up Sunday afternoon. DH did a great job with the icicle lights!! He usually moans and groans but he wasn't too bad this year! Sure is warm here to be christmas time! It's been in the 70's. Hard to get into the spirit with weather this warm. Hope everyone has a great week! I'll check in later!

Its been nearly a week since I posted!!
Hope everyone is well, haven't caught up on reading posts yet.
We are doing well, scale still fluctuating - up 1, back down, etc....
We've had one of those stomach bugs going around the house, just hoping I don't get it. Still haven't got x-mas shopping done, just not in the mood.
Gotta run, just wanted to check in.
Ya'll be good!;)

Evening All:wave:
Couldn't get on the computer before now. Woke up this morning to find myself after going to be early, still tired and having absolutely NO DESIRE to go walk. I NEVER miss walking on a Tuesday, but I did today-bad me! Got ready and Eli and I took his daughter to the mall and lunch before rushing back home to go p/u Michael and then Lauren from school. Had to make a new recipe for Avis, which is what I just finished doing-LEMON MUFFINS-they're still hot, so haven't tried them as of yet. The other recipe she didn't take was the BRAN MUFFINS, only because she already had a BM developed, which then gives me the okay to post it for all of you on the recipe board (when I get a chance). It's really good!!! Anyhow, I have a little while before I have a meeting at the school, so thought I better get in a post before you all thought I up and died on you!
Scale is up again today, 4lbs up from my low-hoping to see a trend reversal before hitting 124 and before next week! I know I go up like clockwork, but who says I have to like it!
BOB, if TENN wins they'll be playing the CANES in the ROSE BOWL! Too bad you won't be home-I'd invite you to come to my house to watch the game so we can kill each other:s: Hope your team makes it-at least I know we'll be watching the tube at the same time!!! So, this ME place had WW pita? How did it compare to the pita from Daily Bread??
FRUIT, keep up the up-beat attitude, it not only makes you feel good, but me too!!!:D
ZSU, sounds like you were the hit of the party and your outfit sounds great! Doesn't it make you feel good to receive such great compliments. AND, you know there will be more to come;) My goodness girl, 8 miles-that's wonderful! Soon, you can walk down to see me in Miami;) Hope the cookies didn't get the best of you-I know the feeling, when my Mom or Lauren makes the Mexican Wedding Cookies (called by other names too), it's hard to resist, but so far, I've been able to each time they make some!! Will reply to your e-mail tomorrow, just haven't had much time.
ZANNE, good to hear that things are going well and that you are feeling so good-always makes me feel good when I hear/read things like that:)
NASCAR, sent out those samples of agave syrup for you today-please let me know when you get them :)
TV, glad to see your post, even if only if it's a few lines, just to let us know you're still connected-hope you don't get sick!!!!
Okay, back to the kitchen to clean up my mess. I'm not sure if I will be home in time for chat to start, though I should be, but if not, I should be able to get in sometime before we usually end. Not sure if anyone is planning on showing, but I'll pop in and see if anyone is in there. SUZANNE did change it so when you click on the link to get to the chat room, it will ask you which room you want to enter, just click on the SUGAR BUSTERS ROOM and viola, you should be able to get right to our room. Here's the link for the chat room:

And of course, as much as I'd like to forget it, TOMORROW IS WEIGH IN WEDNESDAY!!!! I wish you all lots of luck! Personally, I'm dreading the scale-I am so bloated it's not funny!!!
Have a great evening!!

HiHo all! It's me!
I have missed you all so much!
Last week I was just hurting too much to type, was just hanging on til my doctor's appointment. Then the computer developed a problem. I'm computer illiterate so had to wait for gd to get over a bug she had before she felt like messing with it. She had to reinstall everything. So we are in business again.
Went to doctors and had good news/bad news. Good news I lost another 4#, not impressive but I didn't gain! Then I have beautiful numbers! My cholesterol is 165, triglycerides 90, HDL 78, VLDL 16, LDL 69. Tests also confirmed rheumatoid arthritis which I knew. Bad news, I do have peripheral neuropathy in my feet and am being referred to a neurologist. But best of all, he said I could take my Celebrex again. Am so glad!!!!!! Is leaving me on stomach meds to help with stomach. Seems like you need one med to be able to take another med!! So I am definitely on the mend.
Thanks DEB for your nice email. Made me realize that the computer has been up for two days and I haven't got my daily fix of the Board!!
I have been to the nursing home, hanging of the greens in church, children's program in church, finished that Christmas tree and put up a couple of other decorations. So I am getting back to normal.
I did not read the back board pages I missed but did get to this page. Some poor misguided soul wants LSU to lose. Tsk, Tsk, Tsk that is not nice! Of course they will win!!

Happy Tuesday! Whew, last week sure ended up being a duzy! I'm trying to catch up with all of you, if I missed anyone I'm sorry. Not much to report on my end. The Pat Benatar concert was excellent! I wish we could have been closer, but don't we all. Christmas is around the corner and work and home are bustling with extra duties. I'm trying to stay on plan and doing a lot better. The major contributer to my demise is the bran muffins at StarBucks. I decided today, that it's ok to drink the coffee, but to eat breakfast at home from now on. Still holding at 158, hoping to drop some weight now that I have begun my exercise plan. Walked 1 mile yesterday using the Walk Away the Pounds tape and did my Abslide this morning. For now I'm going to go back and forth and do the longer walks on the weekend. Does anyone have young children, work outside of the home, and struggle to find time for exercise, or other me time? If so, any ideas on fitting it all in? I'm already up at 5am. Kids get up at 6am. Out the door by 7:15am. Back home at 5-7pm. If I get home by 5, then it's dinner and homework, with the kids in bed by 7:30 and me doing chores until about 8:30. Then I literally zonk out. I know that exercise is a total must as my Dad tickled me this weekend and made a comment when he squeezed my side that I was off my diet and gaining. It really has got me down. I feel fat and ugly, even if maybe I don't look this way to others. Deb I know you've struggled through some of this...any thoughts?
XYZ - Welcome, glad to have you in our group.
Liz - Sorry to hear your news. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of stress in your life. Thanks for letting us know you're out there.
BusDeb - Keep on losin'! You're doing a GREAT JOB!
Nascar - Nice holliday loss!
Music - Only a 1/2 lb away, you may have it by tomorrow! Hope Maggie is feeling better. Not knowing what is causing a child's discomfort is tough, believe me I know!
TV - Great Job at 145!
Meliris - Ouch! That fall sounded painful! Hope the brusies are healing up nicely.
Fillise - What a wonderful holliday loss!
Deb - Can't wait to try your recipe for Bran Muffins! Your beach pic is terriffic!
Thunder - Congrats on the loss!
Fruit - Got my fingers crossed for you, but it looks like you've got it under control! Your willpower is inspirational and certainly helping me through this afternoon (thank you).
BigKnight'sMomma - WOW! CONGRATULATIONS on your 2 month weigh in!
Frog - It may sound slow to you, but I can't imagine that I could even walk that fast!
I left off at Zanne 12-01-2001 04:52 PM. I'll be back later to continue, but I thought I had better post before it's Wednesday!

It's Me! It's Me! It's a SCHOOL NIGHT - can you believe it?!?!
How are you ladies this evening? I'm doing really well - I have a good feeling the scales will be down tomorrow! I sure hope they are! I had another wonderful day OP and I'm back in the swing - GO ME!
My boss stuck her head in my classroom today and handed me a picture from the last day of school before the Thanksgiving holidays. UGH! Can you say fat cow? I left it on my desk at school so that I can look at it every time I get the urge to cheat! How disgusting!
DEB, GATOR & BOB: OK now - everyone can't be for the VOLS!! What's up with that?!?! I am aware of the whole Rose Bowl thing but come on!!
SEF: I'm so glad to see my other tiger friend on the board!
LDBLOND: Don't you just hate when dad's do that crap? My dad was the head of the PE department here at NSU and has been in great shape all of his life. I was too until after high school. I was a jock and was in tip top shape - what happened - who knows! But, I know deep down he is so disappointed in me. He has made a couple of comments once or twice but with my outburst reaction, he got the hint that I didn't want to hear any of that crap!! I know he is just worried about be and my health, but - you all know - it's a struggle!
ZSU: How awesome - those reactions at the party! I bet you felt like a million bucks!! Sometimes dressing up can be so much fun!
TV: Sure hope you don't get that bug! I've been waiting to get it too. It seems like every other day I've got a student puking in my classroom! Pretty soon those germs will catch up with me!!
NASCAR: I know all about that warm weather! It sure is hard gettting in the spirit when you are wiping the sweat off of your forehead while decorating your door!
ZANNE: Doesn't it feel good to be in a routine?! I love when everything starts falling into place! My problem is: Once I get in a routine - something happens to throw a kink into it!!!
Well, ladies, I'm off to watch a movie or something. I'm taking the night off from doing school work! See y'all on the boards tomorrow!

Hi just a quickie to say I'm still here. I have a stomach bug, but somehow am UP 3 pounds since Saturday and feel like it's 30- can definitely identify with you Lara, I feel fat, ugly and old right now. Still working out like mad (except today when my only exercise was trips to the bathroom- ugh) but that doesn't seem to be helping. Staying 100% OP, but the party rounds start Friday with our annual neighborhood ladies brunch. I've been the grande finale dessert queen in past years, but this year my contribution will be a large antipasto! That'll surprise 'em.
Hope everyone else is feeling perkier and more enthusiatic,

Hey y'all!
Had ladies' night event last night (Keeno). It was hosted at Spewer's house. Her home is truly lovely and she had it decorated to the nines! She used to work as an interior decorator and it really shows. It was a calm evening and ended much earlier due to a different format for the holidays. Thank heavens!!
Had trouble sleeping Sat night after running, tree decorating, etc. Woke up at 2:30 and had trouble going back to sleep. Sunday my allergies were KILLING me, so I took an Allegra-D, but took it so late that it woke me up at 2:30 (yes, again!) and I was awake until 5:30. I slept for an hour then got up and got ready for work. So last night I was very ready for bed!
Have been having trouble with my middle toe on my right foot. Think I have a mild infection in the cuticle. Had MAJOR worries that it was a deep ingrown nail. Monday morning about 3:00 a.m. I began soaking it in Epsom salt and very hot water. Followed it up with hydrogen peroxide and trusty neosporin. I told the PA at work what was going on and she looked at it and suggested that I keep soaking and treating it in the same method. I am hoping this takes care of it. I am soooo frightened that I have something that could take me out of the race :?: which would make me so sad and angry.
Ran 4 miles today and it was ok. Didn't time myself, didn't want the pressure.
Want to sign off for now so that I can save some time to chat for a bit.
Hope all are doing well. Good Luck with WIW!
Peace,
FROG

OK gals....believe or not it is me and I hope to be in chat with you all in a little while. I have been so busy with my horses that I have had no time to read the posts let alone add my own. But things are starting to slow down around here.....yeah I WISH!!!!!:dizzy: Anyway the horses are adjusting well to thier new home and right before Cami arrived we did some repairs on the lower pasture and opened it up. Dixie was in hog heaven before Cami arrived but when Cami arrived they went crazy together. Running and kicking and having a grand ole horsey time....I sure would like to know what is going on in thier beautiful little heads. I am posting pictures of both of them for you all to see.
I am doing ok with sugarbusters. As usual I am not drinking enough water and I am not getting as much exercise as I need. But I am not off the wagon yet.
I must go clean the kitchen before Chat. Cya all later.
Debbie :))
This is Dixie....She is an Appaloosa and is 5 years old.

OH I forgot to mention this about Cami....look at the spot on her belly and hip.....doesn't it look like a child praying while laying on its back? A friend of mine noticed that when we went to look at her. She is so special.

I don't remember my weight from last Wednesday cause I hadn't gotten back on the board until Thursday but I can tell you that since last Monday I'm down 8.5 pounds!:D I know it won't continue to come off that fast but hey - I'll take it while I can!

Stayed the same. But actually I'm pretty happy about that cause TOM is due any time. So if this is my "bloated" weight, then hopefully I'll have a drop next week.:)
Didn't do elliptical yesterday, but did walk back and forth to DS's school 3 times for a total of an hour. Have to get in the exercise early today. Mom and dad are coming for dinner and then off to watch DS's school perform.
RHROO HI! Take care of yourself in these busy times.
FRUIT WTG on the loss. Keep up the good work.
BUSDEB Your horses are beautiful! I can see the child praying on Cami. Even tho you're busy with them, it sounds like they're giving you much joy.
FROG I can understand the not enough sleep thing. I hope things are better for you so you can get proper sleep. The toe sounds painful. I've had a mild ingrown and that was painful enough, but you're braving it out and running with the sore toe. I really hope it clears up quickly.
MEL I hope you're feeling better real soon. Stomach bugs are not nice. I'm sure the gain will disappear as soon as you're feeling better.
IDBLOND Glad you enjoyed the concert. Sounds like you've made a good plan for yourself in regards to your breakfast and exercising. Good for you to get in the exercising with your long days. How is the walking video? Do you walk in place to it and do a bunch of arm movements? Just curious.
SEF Congrats on all your good news. Even tho you have some not so good news, you sound very upbeat. I hope the neurologist can do something for you. Sounds like you're very busy. Don't overdo it. Make sure you take care of yourself.
DEBELLI You've been busy with a lot of stuff lately. Maybe your body was telling you to take it easy. It's a busy time of year and Chanukkah (sorry if I spelled it wrong) is less than a week away, so you're probably busy with that too. I know it's easier said than done, but try not to fret about the gain. It'll come off soon.
TV I've got my fingers crossed you don't get that bug. Take care of yourself.
NASCAR Congrats on the pound down.
Better scoot. It's later than usual for me. Have a good day!

Good morning
I'm pleased to report that I am back down to my lowest of 195 pounds to-day, which is one down from last week. I've been trying to stay 100% op this week so am hoping to see that number move down soon. Was out most of yesterday browsing the stores. Bought a couple of presents. At least it's a start. Also bought some new drapes for my bedroom. Now I have to get some for the living room. I wanted to buy the ready made drapes so I could exchange them if I didn't like them. It took a while before I found a store that carried a good supply of the ready mades. The ones I bought yesterday were supposed to be for the living room but they looked better in the bedroom, so that's where they are now hanging. I'm going out again to-day to see what I can find for the living room.
Missy - I see you have made an excellent re-start on SB. Keep it up.
Rhoo - It's good to see your post. Hope you are hanging in there with SB.
Busdeb - Great pictures of the horses.
Frog - Sorry to hear about your toe. If it doesn't clear up soon maybe you should see a podiatrist. (Or is that what a PA is?) I had a similar problem a couple of years ago where the nail was deep in the flesh and difficult to cut. After having it treated a few times I ended up having the nail removed.
Mel - Sorry to hear you are not feeling so good. Hope things improve for you soon.
Ldblond - Glad you enjoyed the concert. How do you like the Walkaway the Pounds tape? It sounds similar to the one I have with Leslie Sansone. It's a good one but I just have to move my butt and get on with it. I'm finding too many excuses lately for not doing it.
Sef - It looks like you are back being as busy as ever. Take care and don't overdo things. Sorry to hear about the peripheral neuropathy - I hope the neurologist can help you.
Deb - How were the lemon muffins? That's most unusual for you to miss your walk - you are always able to talk yourself into it. Hope you are feeling up to par to-day
Zanne - How do you like this mild weather we are having? I was in Ambrosia the other day and picked up some Agave Syrup. The price sure has gone up. I paid $5.79 for the light one - that's 90 cents more than I paid for the last one. I also bought the dark one to try - that was cheaper at $4.89. I've been trying the light one in my coffee. I find that just a few drops takes the edge off without making it too sweet. I found some other stuff there called COULIS SAUCE. I thought it might be good on pancakes. I bought the four fruit one - there are other varieties. It contains apple juice and some maple syrup but the carb content is only 6gm per tablespoon which is less than the fruit spread I use. I may try it for breakfast this morning.
Cricket - I've read The Glucose Revolution and find it a good resource book on the glycemic index but I know I couldn't lose weight if I followed her recommendations. She allows way too many carbs, even if lots of them are low gi. But I do think it is a good reference book with lots of useful information.
Have to run. Time to get breakfast and head out to the stores again.
Marie.

DEB and ZANNE, thanks for the reassurance. Nice to know that all this information can have a confusing impact on the veterans.
I am going to just stick with what I started with for now.
BOB - I am north of Asheville, mailing address is Weaverville. Live about 5miles outside that town, on top of a beautiful mountain, with 27 acres of serenity and privacy. A dream location, except when it snows, then we have to walk one mile straight down, or straight up!!
I am getting a cold today. Hope that doesn't make this way of eating harder. Next week I will start posting on the exercise board too, really want to take advantage of these boards for support! Thanks everyone.

ROSALIE - we were posting at the same time, so I missed you comment about the GR. I agree, way too many carbs allowed. I don't even think I ate that many carbs when I was gaining weight!! But again, very reassuring to hear from others on all this additional info. Congratulations on that low number!

ROSALIE Whoo Hoo! Glad to hear you're down! That's great news. Sounds like you're giving yourself some early Christmas presents with the drapes. $5.79 for the agave??? :?: The ones I picked up a couple of weeks ago say $5.19. I love to go in there and browse at all the stuff to see what I can find. Ambrosia is only a 5 minute walk from my house, so sometimes I go there if I want to get out for a little bit.
CRICKETT Hope you feel better soon. I actually found it easier to get back on track after my colds.
Just thought I'd try to keep up with the posts while I had a minute.

I've been reading, but not every day and have time to finally post because I'm leaving at noon for San Antonio, TX. We have at gifted/talented conference each year and most of the g.t. teachers in our district attend. It's a wonderful three days of learning and revitalizing ourselves. And I'm told San Antonio is beautiful at Christmas. I can't wait!
It's WIW and after being all over the scales the past week, I'm down 1 pound today. It's been very frustrating this week. I know there are physiological reasons for it, but like you say Deb: I don't have to like it!
Deb: I printed off all the recipes from the board that looked totally legal and something I'd like. I do have Agave Syrup, I bought 4 bottles from the hfs here in town. She had to order it, and put the rest of the carton on her shelf, so they'll have some whenever i need it again. I love it mixed with peanut butter and tried it in some candy concoction, but my DH said my candy looked like dog poop. I am not a candy maker and think I cooked it too long. I was trying to make a little pecan candy thing. I'm open to suggestions and a cooking lesson.
Frog: (I think) My son is a midshipman at the Naval Academy in Annapolis. It's his second year, he wants to be a pilot, then an astronaut. Our area service academies have a military ball each Christmas and we dress up, have dinner, honor the kids and DANCE! The red dress I saw was really a nightgown when I went back the next weekend. :o But I found a gorgeous dark blue mylar gown that looks like velvet, but is really rayon or acetate (I didn't look at the label). It's very simple, but elegant with four spaghetti straps on each shoulder, form fitting (at the top) and I went ahead and bought it. It's something I can tuck if I need to come Dec. 22. Looks good with my blue eyes and red hair! I'll post a picture later.
I was sad for a little while on Saturday when our Navy Mids fell on their faces. Army was so up for that game, tho. My son was so mad he popped one of their blow up toys they gave them to beat together. He went to a tailgate party afterwards that the BSU had for Navy and Army, then several of them went bowling together. The rivalry is a great one, but they are still brothers, according to them. It makes me so proud of them all.
It's time to get ready for my trip. I hope you all have a great week with lots of losses. I'll be back late Friday night but have another busy weekend. My older daughter is dancing in her ballet school's Nutcracker performance and we have my MIL and BIL coming to see it. It's the second weekend and last weekend for it. Maybe I can sneak a peek on Saturday afternoon. Anyway, have a good one.

Still losing and gaining the same pound I've been battling for a while. Glad to see so many have losses to report. I just finished my third performance of the kindergarten Christmas program. I had a child in it this year, so of course it was cute. They sang last night for parents, this am for the rest of the school, then went over to a nursing home to sing. The residents loved it.
I'll be going for tests tomorrow. Not real sure what all they will do. I passed out Sat. nite and Dennis had trouble getting me to come to.:dizzy: Scared him pretty bad. We'll see what the dr says.
BUSDEB: Love the pic of Cami. She's beautiful.
FRUIT: WTG on the loss! That's great!
Sorry I didn't get to everyone.
Have a good day.:)

Good Wednesday Morning Everyone:wave:
Finally got a moment to get on the board and post. Was busy cleaning the kitchen table off earlier (yes, took that long, I have a bad habit of piling things up on there), among a few other things.
Got in my 4.5 miles this morning, but only walked, and not fast at all over 1 hr 3 minutes:eek: It was very windy out there and I didn't feel like fighting the wind to try and jog-but at least I got out there, which was better than yesterday!
With today being WEIGH IN WEDNESDAY I wasn't hopeful at all, and rightfully so, I'm up 4lbs from last weeks WIW, and up 5.5lbs from my all time low. I know at least SOME of this is due to it being almost mid-cycle for me, as I always go up, but that never lessens how I hate it. PLUS, for the past 2 weeks I have not journaled my eating but maybe partially 2 of those days, so with not knowing what's really going in the mouth, I think that hasn't helped me either. Not to mention, the water intake has been terrible! Anyhow, as of today, I'm back to my journaling and drinking my water (already got in over 1.5liters and boy, I can feel it-potty call soon). I'm hoping next weeks WIW will show better results. I guess at least I can be happy I stayed within my cushion-but GAWD FORBID that scale should go up any more and I'll be having kanipshins!
ALSO, I realized yesterday that in just a matter of about 1 month, I will be putting the scale away and only bringing it out for WIW and I don't like this feeling!!! My target is to stash it away after the WIW on the 9th of January. I'm already feeling withdrawl symptoms!
It seems my 4 recipes have been accepted by Avis. She is calling me on Friday, so I guess that's when I will hear more-if she wants 4 recipes a month, that really would be great. The only thing that's hard is taste testing each one-if it wasn't in the house it wouldn't be a problem, but once I make something, it's hard to resist-unless it comes out crappy.
CHAT was great last night-thanks to all of you who showed up. We even had a surprise visitor-QUILTER joined us for a little bit:)
SEF, was getting worried about you! Computer troubles suck, don't they? Glad to hear the scale was down at the Dr. and that your numbers are good, but sorry that he confirmed your neuropathy. Though, it does sound that the rest of you is doing better, which is good news:) Sure seems like you are doing better, CAUSE YOUR DOING TOO MUCH AGAIN!!!!!!!!
LDBLOND, sounds like you had fun at the concert-didn't know PB was still around, geez, I can't remember what she sang. As much as I'd like to see your hard earned dollars going to Starbucks, do leave out the muffin and just do the coffee-some of their stuff is so high in calories, fat, etc. it's disgusting. The lemon pound cake has something like 45 grams of fat PER SLICE! YUCK!!!! I don't know what to say about what happened with your Dad, but I know how that must of felt because my GM would say crap like that all the time. I had to realize that NOTHING would ever make this woman like me for who I was and what I looked like and that SHE has the problem, not I. So now that I'm not FATTER THAN A HOUSE like she use to say, she finds something else to pick on with me-I just let it slide now. Sorry, your Dad has a problem and you can't be afraid to say something to him for saying this to you. Tell him that you don't appreciate that comment. Let him know it bothered you and do put him in his place on this one-elder or not, respect or not, you deserve respect as well. I will tell you why I am so gung-ho on this, because if it doesn't stop with you, it will go on to the kids, which is what my GM did-she started picking on the kids, esp. Lauren and her weight. When she said something one day, long ago, that was it-I mouthed right back at her and from that day on, I rarely go see her, or speak with her, only when we have family get togethers basically. She did enough damage to me, I'm not going to let her do it to my kids!!! As you can see-it's def. a sore subject with me.
BOB, since it's close by to you, just let me know if they have it and how much it is then the next time we meet-up, I'll have you bring some. I will be surprised if they do have it, not easy to find. Hoping one of Eli's workers that's going this month to Lebanon for a visit can find some and bring it home for us.
FRUIT, CONGRATULATIONS!!! What wonderful news to greet me this morning-8.5lbs is awesome! You go girl, and I mean it. See, I KNOW you can do this-look what you've accomplished this week. Just keep that wonderful spirit going and you'll get back to where you were and then some!!! The pic that was give to you, keep that picture and see how you look and feel next month-that would be great if you could take a monthly pic of yourself to see your progress. I wish I would of taken a pic of myself when I started SB-don't have one until I was OP for about 2 1/2 months.
MEL, sorry to hear you aren't feeling well-hope you are on the mend soon. I'm up on the scale with you my dear-actually, I've surpassed you, I wish it was only a 3lb gain for me!!
FROG, no good Spewer stories from Keeno night?? Too bad you couldn't bring yourself to spew over something nice of hers-I'm so mean! How's the tootsie today???
BUS, sounds like you are busy-busy not only with the horses, but with life, as general. The horses are so cute-enjoy them! Who's actually taking care of them, with the feeding, brushing, etc.? I take a guess you have another job description you can put on your resume!!!
RHROO, glad to see your post-wondered where you've been!!!
ZANNE, hey, that's great if TOM is due and you're the same-surely there will be a loss around the corner for you:)
ROSALIE, WOO HOO! Glad to hear the good news of you being back to your low. I feel a loss coming for you soon!!! Yes, it is odd for me to miss my walking, esp. on a Tuesday, but I just couldn't muster up the get up and go I usually have. Hoping to get in some jogging tomorrow morning-hope it's not too windy. The LEMON MUFFINS tasted great, they didn't rise as high as they should of-I suck when it comes to folding in egg whites, something I guess I will master one day (I hope), but they sure tasted good and everyone liked them a lot. I think there are only 2 of them left now (out of a dozen, which 3 I scarfed down).
CRICKETT, sounds like a lovely place you live in-hopefully, I'll get to meet you come April when we get to go up there:)
JRED, CONGRATS on another pound lost-that's great news! Have fun at your conference. LOL! Me, give any advice on cooking-my family would laugh (and hard, too). Give me an idea of a recipe you'd like to try using the agave and I'll see what I can come up with. Did you try the PB BALLS? They are good, and easy to make.
SOL, hoping you'll see this-tried e-mailing you, it came back-want to see what the latest plans are for the Orlando get-together!!!
MUSIC, what's going on with passing out??? Oye, I hope all is okay, please let us know what the Dr. says as soon as you know. That would sure scare the heck out of me too!!! The kids sound adorable-such innocence!!!
Well, here it is, already Noon and I haven't even gotten into the shower.
Please remember, TOMORROW IS RECIPE DAY so if you have any good SB LEGAL RECIPES you'd like to share with the board, please, try to post them tomorrow. Maybe we can post some holiday recipes.
Have a good day. I'll check in later!

I am down 2.75 GLORIOUS pounds! YAH HOOOOO!!!
Called the doc today to get him to have a peek at the toe tomorrow. They wanted me to come in today but I couldn't. Appt is for 8:30. Thanks to all who've inquired about my paw (toe).
I am calling in a prayer request! My "fur child" Dixie, our chocolate lab is having her teeth cleaned in the a.m. They have to sedate her fully to do it, and DH is terrified that she will not wake up. He has taken the day off and is spending it at the vet's office to be with her. Our dog is our baby. Her teeth need a serious cleaning and if we don't do it now she could have serious problems in the future. After this we will have an evening tooth brushing routine. So please pray that God will protect our baby tomorrow and that she will be around with clean teeth and fresh breath for many years to come. I would greatly appreciate it.
BEACH TRIP
OK! Now, let's talk about a beach reunion for 2002. My friend with the fun old beach house says that the calendar is ready and that we need to be thinking about a date. The house is in Atlantic Beach, NC, near Morehead City. It is a fun old place that easily accomodates a large group and the rate is really low. I will have to ask her again what the rate is. But we need to decide
1) WHO will come. Let's get real, who is truly interested and will commit to coming if the rate is good?
2) Do we want to do a 4-day weekend? How many days and what part of the week?
3) What time of the year. The house is typically open from the first weekend in April through the end of October. There are times that are already booked, so we need to come up with several times that appeal to us. Early April or September may be good solutions. I know many of you have children and would have an easier time getting away in the summer months. We can try for a summer month time, but we may have difficulty. I know the family has the house for 10 days at the 4th of July.
The house is on the ocean and does not have central heat or air. When I was there in April we were comfy in sweat shirts in the evening and early morning. In September it was warm during the day and mild at night. There really isn't the need for AC as the house gets a breeze off the water all the time and is designed for great ventalation. It is an old house that has stood through many hurricanes while the new one next door has been blown to smithereens. It was even on Good Morning America a few years back when there was a hurricane and they rode the storm out in the house. The island was hard hit but that old house was fine. FYI - It is not a posh palace, so if you need a 5-star resort you may not like it. It is a great gathering place for large groups who are more interested in hanging out and having fun than in their accomodations.
We need to talk this up NOW! Please give input here or to my email.
Chatting last night was fun as usual. Those of you who haven't tried it need to check it out!
BUS - The horses are beauties! I love Cami's markings. My DH thought she was a pony, she's not is she? Dixie is a real gorgeous girl. I can smell that yummy barn smell from here!
Congrats to all you losers!
ZSU - Enjoyed chatting with you last night. Really felt like I got to know you well.
DEB - No really good stories from Keeno. Spewer kept on and on about how hard she worked and a few times about being sick from seeing Garth Brooks outoors in the cold and how that made her sick. Felt like both were ploys for sympathy and attention, so I ignored them. Unfortunately she got my gift and I don't think she liked it. She said her husband would be upset that she had "more dishes." I gave 4 plates and double old-fashioned glasses, both with snowflake patterns on them. Really cute, got 'em at Wal-Mart. Also gave 4 wine glasses with snow flakes I personally etched on them. She doesn't know how to be gracious. The bargains I got... I found a REAALLY nice, NEW, square, market umbrella with an ash-wood pole at a thrift store for $35.00. It is black and gold and has the name of a bagel place printed on it that I thought was cute and made it more "campy." It says "Einstein Brothers Bagels." The make of the umbrella was Basta Sole, so naturally I began trying to price them on the internet and went searching for a good reduced price stand. Hope to find one before spring.
I know there are many I should respond to, but I need to go spend some time with DH and Dixie tonight.
Have a good evening all.
Peace,
FROG

FROGGIE Skeeter gets his teeth cleaned every year and they have to knock him out too. He goes on Jan 15th for the next go around. When he's out, I have them cut his toe nails to the nubs and then they don't have to be cut so soon or as often for a while. How old is DIXIE? I can totally relate with your husband, I feel the same thing when SKEETER goes..he's twelve...
I'll keep all fingers and toes crossed for Skeeters little Carolina girlfriend...;)

Well I ended my pity party with a binge at dinner and 31 flavors. Of course, this has resulted in my GERD/Gastritis flaring up and making me feel rotten. This morning I got up had 3 eggs for breakfast and an apple as a snack, ww pita with 2 slices turkey lunch meat and 2 slices american cheese, a hand full of almonds, and then a pear for my afternoon snack a little while ago. I just spoke to my SIL and told her I REALLY needed my SB book back. I'm going to re-read it. There are no excuses, I don't know why I'm sabatoging. I haven't identified the source and feeling sorry for myself certainly isn't making it any better. Maybe what I need is a swift kick in the deriere? I didn't even weigh in this morning because I was afraid of what the scale would tell me. I'm seriously considering forgetting that I ever lost the inital weight and starting over or is this all part of the process? I realize to some of you 10lbs may seem silly, but it's like Mt. Everest for me. Any ideas, comments?
Now to try to finish catching up with all of you. Let's see, I left off with Zanne.
Deb, I just read your motivations for this week. The first one, didn't set in really, the second one came blaring through! I'm going to put it on my bathroom mirror to read each night before I go to bed. T-Shirts! Wait 'til Nance hear's about this, that is if I could ever get a hold of her. Still no luck ;( Thanks for sharing Sef's note. It so sad about the accident. I hope she knows we are thinking of her and her family in our thoughts and prayers.
Zanne, I noticed that you are exercising at night, do you find that you get a burst of energy afterwards and cannot fall asleep? The walking video involves arm and leg movement and some weights. I did it Monday, Abslide yesterday, and then the video again tonight.
Zsu, You've done a great job and I'm sure you deserved every compliment!
Nascar, Congrats on the 1lb loss.
TV, Hope the stomach flu missed you.
SEF, Glad to see you are back on board and to hear that your Dr. appt went fairly well. I hope you get to feeling better real soon, now that you will be able to take your meds. By the way, don't knock the 4lbs, you've done a great job!
Fruit, I'm glad to see you on board so often. Great Loss! You and I both seem to be getting back into the swing of posting. Dad didn't mean any harm by his comment, but like your Dad they love us and wantour health to improve.
Bus, Beautiful horses!
Rosalie, Congratulations on getting back to your all time low! Leslie is the creator of the tapes I'm using also. So far so good, I just need to stick with it.
Rhroo, HUGS right back at ya!
Good nite, all. Things are looking better now than they did this morning, thanks for continuing to keep me motivated!

Evening Ladies!
Great to hear that everyone had a good WIW!
DEB: I don't think I know anyone that knows their body better than you do! You know exactly when you will be up and when you will be down! That's awesome! What made you decide to want to put the scale away? I don't think I could ever do that! Also, I have one of those big ole doctors scales - can't just put that big thing anywhere!! HAHA! I'll have to take a picture each month - huh? Then when I reach my goal - and I WILL reach my goal - I can post each one on the board!! Thanks again for your support and confidence!
MUSIC: I'm really concerned about the passing out! You must have freaked when you realized what had happened. Please keep us informed on your doctor visit - that really worries me!
BOB: OK - I'll cheer for your team - NOT!!! GEAUX TIGERS!!!! I'll only cheer for the VOLS if they beat us and go to the ROSE BOWL!! You know that I can only cheer for the VOLS when they aren't playing the TIGERS of LSU!
FROG: That beach trip sounds awesome, but there is no way I could make it this year! Maybe I can make it in 2003!
ROSALIE: Glad to hear that you are back down. Great feeling huh? Keep up the great work! Hey - You shop like me - I buy 1 present for someone else and 2 presents for myself!!
ZANNE: Oh yeah girl - you are definately due for a loss next week! If you are the same weight and you are about to start - that's great! That could be a good 3-4 pound loss! woo-hoo!
RHROO: Great to see you! I haven't been here in a while so it's nice to see some old faces/names! Keep in touch!
CRICKETT: I hope you feel better soon! nothings worse than a cold - they seem to linger on forever! At least with a virus - you are miserable but it is gone in 24 or so hours!!! Now - don't get me wrong - it's like the WORST 24 hours of your life but it goes away quickly!! HAHA!
THUNDER: Where exactly is the city you live in - I'm from Thibodaux and I've never heard of your town.
Well, ladies - see ya tomorrow! Nighty night!

The scale is up even more, I won't even post it and refuse to believe this week is really happening. Time to go back to basics and re-read the book or SOMETHING! Not quite sure what tho.
Frog- Hope the toe is a simple fix and whoo hoo on the poundage lost!!! We'll be pulling for Dixie (and hubby) tomorrow. Cleo had her teeth done last year along with some other minor surgery under a general anesthetic and was fine- didn't even lose her appetite, and went running with me the next day. But I can totally empathize with your trepidations! I'm a maybe, depending on time, on the beach trip. I haven't gone anywhere in 24 years without DH or kids. This idea may have to float around the house a bit, see if it picks up too much resistance. But I'd love to do it.
Busdeb- The horses are sooo beautiful! They were about the only things to make me smile last night after a truly crappy day. You must be running ragged between kids, buses, animals and holidays. But they sure look worth it. If I had land and $$ i'd have horses just to take pictures of them! Instead I have 4 deer that have taken up residence in the ravine behind my house and routinely mow down every flowering plantand shrub in sight. They're real pretty too, but the novelty wore off when they ate all my lilies last summer. Now I look at them and think how good they'd be with garlic and red wine!
Deb- Guess I missed something at chat(duh)! You're going to Lebanon NOW? Adding a side trip to Israel too? Actually, Lebanon is probably a lot safer....You are a brave woman, along with all your other sterling qualities! Maybe I missed something here.... BTW, I admire how you take the scale ups and downs so calmly- there is screaming coming the bathroom almost every morning now in this house. I even stomped on it yesterday. I just want maybe 10-12 more off from where I was, and I'm going the wrong way.
Jred- Be sure to post a picture for us. The dress sounds lovely. I'm sure you'll look great.
Thunder and Fruit- WTG, send me some of that enthusiasm! Or bottle it, and you'll make a fortune!
Ldblond- My step-father(who is skeletally skinny) used to make comments to me all the time, back when I was what now seems a perfectly normal weight. I just cringed inside whenever I was with him, waiting for it. One day, I don't even know whatever possessed me to say it, he was having lunch at my house and I greeted him at the door with "if you say 1 word about my weight or anything else you think I do wrong, you can leave immediately!" He was just about speechless, says he never realized he was critcizing me, etc., etc. Anyway, it stopped. I agree with Deb, you need to let him know how you feel, tho maybe a little less bluntly than I did. It may not stop him, but I bet he'll at least think about it. Even if he thinks he's "helping" you.
OK- I'm getting lost here on replies and starting to ramble, so hello to everyone I've missed, congrats to the losers, my empathy to the strugglers, and good nite all:wave:

oh yeah! I forgot a few things!
LDBLOND: I wanted to post about the PB concert!! HOW AWESOME!! Like DEB I didn't think she was still around - well, performing that is! My hubby would just die - he loved her many years back! Maybe she'll make a swing down south so we can see her!!
BUS: I forgot to tell you how beautiful your horses are!! I love horses! I don't ride at all but we have friends that have them and they are such great animals. I'm sure you just love them to pieces!
FROG: I'll definately say a doggie prayer for your family tonight - I'm sure everything will be fine! My friend actually brushes her dogs teeth every night! I laughed when I slept over one night and she was brushing the dog's teeth! He loves it - it's peanut butter flavored toothpaste or something like that! HAHA!
OK - I think that's all for now! Sorry if I forgot anyone!
toodles again!

Morning Everyone!
Had a pretty good day yesterday. I think I've finally learned to listen to my body when it tells me it's hungry and have only smaller portions. More like snacks than meals, but that's the way to go, right? I especially noticed with my dinner--spaghetti and meatballs--I had way less than I used to have and even that was a bit too much. So something's clicking.
DS was performing with his school last night. I didn't think I'd get in my exercise, but I did!:D Really didn't want to, but talked myself into it and felt great afterwards. That's 5 days in a row!
Got on the scale this morning and was down a lb from yesterday. That's with TOM here. Keeping my fingers crossed for next WIW that the scale will continue to be down.
Boy! Looks like y'all were a chatty bunch yesterday, so I'll do my best to keep up.
JRED Hooray! 1lb. down. Enjoy your trip. Hope your weekend isn't too stressful!
MUSICTEACH I hope you're ok. Passing out--are you stressed?? Keep us posted on how the tests turn out. I know what you mean about losing and gaining the same pound over and over. Been there, done that. Hang in there. I'm sure the scale will stay down soon.
DEBELLI You make me laugh cause I have piles all over my place too! Good for you to get back to your journaling and drinking water. Try not to fret about hiding the scale. You might have to do it gradually--maybe only weighing every other day for a while, then every 3 days etc. Old habits are hard to break and new ones take time to develop. Glad your recipes were accepted. You'll have to let me know if we'll be able to get the agave in southern Ontario. Lemon muffins sound wonderful--I want the recipe!
ROSALIE I looked at the price sticker on the agave. A quick glance and it does look like a 7 cause there's no little line at the bottom of the 1.
THUNDER Good news on the loss! What a great MIL having confidence in you and getting you a nice dress.
FROG Yeah on the nearly 3 pounds lost! I'll be thinking of Dixie, you and your husband today. I'm sure everything will go well. If you keep using the green type, we'll all know it's you.
BOB How's it going?
LDBLOND I exercise around 8pm and go to bed around 10. I find exercising curbs my night-time munchies. I actually seem to be sleeping better these last few days! You're not silly for wanting to get 10 lbs off. Those last 10 lbs are supposed to be the most difficult. You started back OP today and I bet if you try your best, you'll get rid of those 10 lbs soon.
FRUIT Thanks for the encouragement. You keep up the good work too!
MEL Sorry to hear the scale is up. Could it be you're gaining muscle? You seem to be great at exercising. I'm sure the numbers will head back down soon.
RHROO I know what you mean about losing after a binge. That's happened to me a few times. I eat perfectly OP and nothing happens. As soon as I have some junk food, the scale drops. Can't figure that one out. WTG on exercising 3 days in a row! Your menu sounds good--made me hungry!
A BIG "HI" to anyone I've missed.
Gotta scoot and get the munchkin ready for school.
HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE!

Good Thursday Morning:wave:
Actually, it's rainy and gloomy down here in South Florida-seems we're getting remnants of Olga-doesn't Mother Nature know that hurricane season ended Nov. 3oth??:?: When I woke up it was raining, though when I returned from taking Michael to school it wasn't, so I went for my walk/jog-did the usual 4.5 miles in 49:50. About 3/4 of a mile from home it started to rain, got slightly wet-but thank goodness I got in when I did because 5 minutes later it started raining cats and dogs. Of course, Lauren had to leave for school and as usual, didn't know where her mini umbrella was (surely not where it should of been, in her backpack)-so she'll be going to school a wee bit wet!
Scale is down a 1/2lb for me today, but still up 5 stinkin' pounds. Hoping this is the downward trend for me now. I also came to a conclusion that all the taste-testing of the recipes I've been doing is NOT helping me at all, SB LEGAL OR NOT! Thank goodness, for now, I don't have to make anything else so I can get that behind me and focus on eating how I was before.
My Mother e-mailed me and told me BLUE MOUNTAIN CARDS site is now charging for e-cards and that American Greetings e-cards followed suit. What is this world coming to?? Anyhow, if you are like us and like to send e-cards, here's some great sites with hundreds of links to e-card sites that are mostly FREE :) There are some outdated links, but just skim throug them to find some good free ones.
Today is RECIPE DAY and I posted the recipe for the BRAN MUFFINS. Let me know if anyone makes them and how you like them.
THUNDER, CONGRATULATIONS for another 2lbs-that's wonderful news!:D Let us know about the dress! That was sweet of your MIL to buy that for you.
FROG!!! WOO HOOO!!!! A LOSS!!!!! YIPPEEEEE!!!! I know it's just the beginning-oye, the scale is going to be busy with you girl! CONGRATS!!! I know you must of been flying when you saw that scale take a dip:D What did the Dr. say about the tootsie? How's the furry child-so much going on for you today! I'm all for the beach trip! You know that-and I'm serious about it too. Def. has to be when there would be some rather cooler weather-we'd die without a/c in the summer time. I vote for Oct., only because I'm going with the kids in April to NC during Spring Break and just couldn't imagine driving to NC twice within a month-unless I fly:angel: BUT, I'll go with what the majority says and somehow, if it ends up being April, will work something out. Sounds like you got some interesting items-we'd have a blast together shopping the garage sales, I'm sure! Maybe we can do some damage at the malls in Orlando;)
BOB, did you get my e-mail??? On NC, yes, going to parent's new retreat during Spring Break, cheap vacation with the kids. One of Eli's workers is from Lebanon and is going there to visit family for the holidays, so we're sending over just a couple small things for him to take-and asked him to bring some spices. I'll ask the big boy what spices may be good to look for. Watched AR-loved it! Can't wait til next week. I think the 2 guys will win, but I'd rather have Frank and Margarita win-hate team Guido. Wish this would of been an elimination round last night. Can't wait til they make the next one!!!!!
LDBLOND, hope your SIL gives you your book back-hate when I lend out books never to be returned, and I forget who has them as well. I've sabotaged myself many times in the past and I truly believe a lot of it had to do with the GM thing I mentioned-only until I got help and spoke with someone professional was I able to turn this around and see the light. I'm sure you will too;) I haven't heard from NANCE either-she didn't even let the board know she got the bday greetings I sent to her from all of us-if you hear from her, please let me know and let her know we miss hearing from her!! Just to clarify-it was AMSER'S brother who was in the accident-nothing to do with SEF.
FRUIT, I didn't know my body until I started SB and started keeping track of my daily weight and what was going on that day. Now I understand that my body can go up 5-6 pounds during TOM and mid-cycle without me doing anything wrong. Before, in past diets/years, I didn't realize that and would see such a big gain when I was trying so hard and get so upset and just blow the diet and all the hard work, only to find myself weighing more than when I started in such a short period of time. Try keeping track for a couple months and you will see some trends. I keep track on the WEIGHT COMMANDER PROGRAM and then I keep a track of my weigh graph paper as well. I really don't want to put the scale away, but I am so obsessed with it! Now that I am trying to maintain, as long as I stay within my 5lb cushion I shouldn't be so fixated on the scale-so if I can just pull it out on WIW, that would be good-and if I see myself going above the 5lb cushion-will bring it out daily until I see it go below-good compramise, I think! I'll actually have to have someone hide the scale-I'm not strong enough to keep from going on it with having it close at hand (or feet).
MEL, don't fret-you know I'm up there on the scales with you, as much as it truly sucks! 5.5lbs up in less than 2 weeks! We both know it's only temporary-but I guess in the meantime we can huddle up and ***** a bit. No, No, No-def. not going to Lebanon-geez, can you imagine me there? No way-I won't even consider going to Israel!! No, one of Eli's workers is going to visit family and Eli is going to send a couple things over for this kid to take his family who are still there in Lebanon. Are you joking-me go to Lebanon, I couldn't go outside if I ever went there! They smoke everywhere, the use diesel cars, they have maybe 1 traffic light, there are no speed limits-shall I go on?? Of course, then there's the obvious-Eli's family doesn't care that I'm Jewish, but I'm sure many others there would!!!
RHROO, don't ever want you to stay away! Good going on your 3rd day of exercise-you should try to post it on the EXERCISE BOARD-something about posting my exercise on there makes me feel good-don't ask me why. How are things at Wally World?? Nope, not writing a cook book, but have thought about it. I'm developing a few recipes for a new label for the people who import the agave syrup. They accepted 4 of my recipes-the gal is calling me tomorrow-not sure what she has in mind to discuss.
ZANNE, I eat smaller meals throughout the day, it works for me. Good going on the exercise-you're going to see as you keep going with it that if you DON'T do it, you miss it!!! Hey, another pound?!? CONGRATS!!!! Glad to know I'm not the only one who has piles around the house. The agave I was told is going to be marketed in Canada-they are making a French label with 2 recipes out of the 4 I gave them-I'll let you know what I find out when it's suppose to come to market.
Gotta go, have a few things to get done and want to watch CROSSING OVER while I have a bite to eat. I'll check in with you later today, sometime.
Have a great day!

Isn't it Friday yet??:?: This has been a long week!
Got all my X-mas decorations down from the attic last night. I bought a new tree last weekend and put it up but didn't decorate it until last night. Outside we have some lighted decorations that my Daddy made. We have a Santa in a helicopter, snowman, candy canes, a tree and Santa w/4 reindeer. My little one just LOVES  lights. Oh, I also have a lighted wreath on the door!
Re-arranged my living room too. Mom gave me Daddy's leather recliner and had to move things around to get the right spot for it.
I thought I saw my Dad yesterday morning on our way to school. It was a truck just like his. I used to meet him a whole lot like that since we live just 2 houses away from them. He would always make a face and stick his tounge out at me when we met on the road. He always did crafty things and was really BIG into the X-mas yard decorations. He did the wood cut-outs, painted them and sold them out of the yard. The last 5 years he has done the lighted decorations. Every day he would be sitting in the garage putting lights on something new. He loved doing it and he loved the people stopping by to look and buy. Its a wonder that there hasn't been a crash in front of their house because at night it is a real sight to see. Cars almost stop when they pass. My Mom is keeping the tradition of putting all of the decorations out, but is only selling what we currently have duplicates of. She has it looking really good.
Christmas is going to be really hard for all of us. Mom has signed us up for a "How to handle Grief" seminar for this Saturday - ALL DAY! I really don't want to go, but I guess I will for her sake. She says she won't go without me.... I'm really glad I got on the anti-depressants when I did. I don't feel nearly as anxious or "on the edge" as I did before, but no pill will be able to stop me from missing him so much. He was such a big part of our lives and the one who always had enough Christmas spirit for all of us.
OK, I'm shuttin up on that now, don't want to be too depressing.
I can't seem to get my shopping done. The kids are not really asking for any BIG items this year, so its kinda been picking up this and that, no real big challenge or mission to accomplish.
As for the scale, I'm doing OK, but haven't lost any more. I HAVE GOT TO GET MOTIVATED TO EXERCISE!!!!
BusDeb - horses are beautiful!! Sounds like your life is very HECTIC right now!
Deb - You know those lbs will be gone in a few days.... probably even more than before! I don't know if I can make the same commitment to breaking the scale habit!! It is a part of my morning routine!!
Sef - glad you are feeling better!
Mel - Chin up, Girl!! You'll get back on track!
Zanne - If you are addicted to this board, then at least it is a healthy addiction!!! I do much better staying OP when I am able to be active here!
BOB - I will pull for the VOLS in the championship game. It would have been different if the "other tigers" had won last weekend! I am really close to the AL/TN line and there are many folks that work with me that live in TN, so there are many vol fans around here!!

Just a quickie to say HI to everyone. I've been out most of the day. I bought drapes two days ago supposedly for the living room but decided I liked them better in my bedroom - so that is where they will remain. They go good with the decor. Was back to the store yesterday, same chain but a different store to see if they had any different ready mades. Bought some which I didn't like when I got them home so went back to the first store to-day and exchanged them. I'm happy with them, they are hanging already. It's surprising what you can do when you have no one home to do it for you. First time I have ever hung drapes. I managed it without falling off of the step ladder. Was out to badminton yesterday evening. That is about all the exercise I am getting lately but it is quite a good workout. I try to go three times a week but sometimes it is only once or twice depending on the work schedule.
Deb - I made the muffins this morning and they turned out good. I only made half the recipe, I was afraid to make the whole batch or I would have been stuffing my face all day. I had two small ones for breakfast, ds took three of them to work and I just had one for a snack.
I wish I could respond to you all but I have to get in the shower and get ready to go out for dinner. Have to be out of the house in about half an hour. Will try to check in again later, if not who knows when as I am working early in the a.m. but will off the weekend - hooray.
Take care everyone.
Marie.

Hi all. Went to the dr this morning and don't know much. He did xrays, blood work and EKG. Everything looked good.:) Actually my cholesterol was down to 178.:D Anyway, he wants to do more tests. Stress test and a test that checks blood flow in the arteries in the neck. I'm scheduled for that on Monday. He actually asked me if I had been under stress. Let's see...I have three small kids, and I teach 500 more every day at school.:dizzy: Who's stressed?
Hope to get some new pictures of the kids on soon. I got some that turned out really good.
Sorry I can't get to everyone. Have a good day!

Well, this was not the best day this year! Ended up having to go from doc to podiatrist. Toe is basically just irritated. Cost me $30.00 to be told what I already know! Said that if it gets worse they'll phone in antibiotics. Gotta go back after Chistmas. Yippee!
Between doc appts I called vet's office to check on Dixie. DH had taken her to ANOTHER vet for an emergency ultrasound because her bloodwork showed seriously elevated liver enzymes. The ultrasound didn't show anything which is good. Now we gotta determine the reason for the liver #'s. They shaved her belly and chest from crotch to breast bone. :( I promised to crochet her a chest plate to keep her warm for winter until her fur comes back in. Needless to say we didn't go on with the tooth cleaning because they thought it might be a bit of a risk. She will go back in a week or 2 to have the blood work repeated. We hope that it is a condition that can be treated with a cortisol type drug, but the words "liver biopsy" were mentioned. Hope it doesn't come to that. Perhaps the worst of it was talking to hubby 2X on the phone with him choked up and in tears. He is better tonight. Said he just wasn't prepared for having to consider her mortality in this situation. She is fine tonight. They had to drug her to do the ultrasound and she was a shaved, sad, sleepy noodle when I finally saw her this morning. She is in here now, just came in and is under the desk lounging at my feet. Please send an  to take care of my girl. She is our daughter.
I'm ready for mindless entertainment (Survivor) while I curl up and snuggle with "Miss Puppy" on the couch. Gotta go soak my toe. Buy stock in makers of Epsom Salt, looks like I'll be buying it for a while.
Keep giving the feedback about the beach dates and I will keep a tally of who wants what.
Too emotionally drained to keep typing.
Good night all.
Peace,

Hello everyone!
How's everyone today? I had a great day OP and I was down another half a pound today. :D I know that I keep saying this but - it feels so good to be back on plan!
BOB: This is getting rediculous! You have way too much support on this board! What's up with that? How come all of a sudden everyone wants to be for the VOLS? Oh - I can't wait for Saturday!!!! I sure hope we win cause I been practicing that victory dance! By the way - my entire Christmas tree is decorated purple and gold!!! It's so cute! For my tree skirt I bought tiger print material and put it under the tree! I took a picture - I hope it comes out - I'll send ya one!
DEB: I'm going to check out weight commander and start posting my weights. Can't believe about bluemountain - that sucks! I'll have to check out some of the other sites you posted.
TV: I'll be finishing up my decorating this weekend too. Sorry about your dad. I'm sure things aren't the same - but just remember - he's always with you! My mom died when I was 13 (cancer) and I miss her terribly. I have a wonderful step mother but there's nothing like your real mom when things get bad. But, keep your chin up - he wouldn't want you having a miserable Christmas - especially if that was his favorite time!;)
MUSIC: Let us know how those tests go! I totally agree about the stress level!! I CAN'T WAIT FOR CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS!!!!!!
MEL: Loved the deer story!! That was hilarious - I can just picture you with your wine now!! HAHA!
Well, let me run! Hello to everyone else! Sorry I couldn't post to everyone but I'm pooped!!

It's been another busy week & just can't seem to find the time to read the board. Do miss everyone & long to be here posting & catching up, just not happening, so I thought I'd at least say hello & that I'm still hanging in, staying OP.
I've gotten back down to 140 & have maintained that weight for the past week which I'm excited about cause I had been back & forth like a yoyo for a while. I'm hoping to see a drop soon.
We've been having some work done on the house (outside). All is going ok. Slow going, but making progress. Have a side porch with the roof on ysterday & today. Waiting on new steps to be built.
Had company Tuesday night. Supper was 100% SB legal & everyone enjoyed it, down to the dessert. Made Blueberry Buckel with frozen peaches. Turned out pretty good.
Got to go. Again, miss everyone & hope all are doing ok. Talked to my niece about SB again & sent her the site for the board. She sounded really interested, so I'm hoping she'll sign on & get started. Will be off tomorrow & will try to check in. Night all.

meliris: Thanks.
Fruit: The concert was totally awesome, it's worth it if you can see it. Also, she's come out with a new alblum 4 new songs, plus the good oldies like "Love is a Battlefield," "Hit Me with Your Best Shot,", "Shadows of the Night, etc.
Rhroo: Thanks for the kick and the hug. It's just what I needed.
Deb: Doing a lot better today. Sorry about the typo, Amers. and Sef, I got my nicknames mixed up. My SIL still didn't bring me the book, I may buy a new one this weekend. As for Nance, I pray that she's ok and will return to us when she's ready.
Frog: I'm sorry your baby had to go through so much today. Hopefully the tests will just be fine next time. Lucky thing her Mama knows how to knit!
TV: Thanks for sharing about your Dad. This Christmas will be hard as there is a loved one missing in physical form, but remember his spirit is with you.
Yesterday I went to bed feeling really good about myself, even though I didn't exercise. I ate on plan all day and went to Walmart and did a little Christmas shopping last night. Not true exercise, but I was walking around for about a 1 1/2 hours. Today still op, went to Starbucks this morning, but made sure to eat first. Did not have a muffin, which is HUGE for me. Still op with dinner tonight, really want some ice cream, so I'm going to have a small scoop of sf butter pecan in the fridge. Looking forward to another successful day tomorrow. Still working on getting the exercise...
Good night.

Morning Everyone!
I love this time of day--no one else around to bug me. It's my "me" time.
Stayed pretty much OP yesterday. Should've had more water tho. Did the elliptical and my speed is getting better!:D
Debelli Those lbs will be gone in no time. You work so hard at eating OP and exercising, you'll be down soon. Thanks for the links to free ecards. I usually use egreetings.com and they sent me notice they'll be charging too.
TV Don't worry about "sharing". That's what we're here for. It's nice you and your mom are keeping your dad's spirit alive by putting out all his decorations. Now, the exercise thing. What if you set yourself little goals? When I started back last week I vowed to do at least 5 minutes every day. I'm doing at least a half hour every day. Even tho there were a couple of days I really didn't want to do it, I told myself just 5 minutes, but ended up doing the whole half hour. What about if you told yourself you'd walk up and down your stairs for 5 minutes or walk down the block. Just something small to get you into the habit. Then gradually extend the time.
Rosalie You're busy with your redecorating! Good for you in getting the drapes hung. Not an easy job-balancing on the ladder, reaching overhead. We've been spoiled with the lovely weather, haven't we? But yesterday afternoon was colder than Wednesday night! I actually like the snow and don't mind shoveling it!:dizzy: I think having snow would put more people in the Christmas spirit!
Musicteach Glad to hear the tests you had had good results. Hopefully the next ones will find nothing wrong either. I think we all have to find ways to de-stress our lives. Easier said than done. Just try to take it easy.
BOB Please, please take care of yourself!!!! Would you like a kick in the pants to get you started or a great big (((HUG)))? You can have both if you want. Can we do anything to help you? Like be your own personal cheering section??? Gooooo BOB!!!!
Frog Your poor baby! What she had to go thru. And hubby and you. I hope things turn out well. I'll keep thinking of you all. I also hope your toe heals soon.
Fruit I know what you mean about feeling good back OP! I feel it too! I find the hardest part is getting in the exercise, but once I start it goes quickly and I feel so good afterwards. Keep up the good work Missy!
Melf Good to hear you're staying OP with your busy life. Glad to hear the scale is down for you. Keep up the good work and pop in when you can.
LDBlond Hooray for you staying OP and bypassing the muffin. Like I said to TV, what if you set yourself small goals for exercise==start with 5 minutes a day and gradually extend the time. I'd say walking around Walmart for an hour and a half was exercise! I think the ice cream treat was a good idea. Have a little when you really want it. That way you won't feel deprived.
I think my "me" time is almost up. DS should be getting up soon. Talk to you all later.

I'm awake after a restful night's sleep.
I have a dental cleaning this morning. Hope that my appointment is less stessful than Miss Puppy's yesterday.
Have 1000 things I need to do including running today. Really should go before I go to dentist. Lost one day of running (4-miles) to worrying over the toe. Thankfully tomorrow is only a 10-miler, next Saturday is the last big run berfore the race. then it's a wonderful taper.
Sunday I will be leaving for a conference in Raleigh for 2 nights, will be home Tuesday afternoon. DH leaves for Atlanta on Tuesday and will be home Friday. Looks as though I won't see him after Sunday evening. :( Sooo, I won't be posting on Monday.
Today is Pearl Harbor Day. Please remember the fallen heroes.

I have a great little book "The Conversation Piece Book" that asks great questions to stimulating questions. In it there is a Christmas section. Thought it might be fun to include a daily question for the holidays. Therefore, Today's question:
Regardless of its monetary value, what is the single most meaningful Christmas/Hanukkah gift you've ever received?
I got a bike when I was young that was really special because of the thoughtfulness my parents put into getting it. I think I was in about the 2nd grade, my brother and sister were in junior high. They got new 10-speeds (all the rage that year) for Christmas. Matching his and her white ones. I couldn't ride one since I was too little, but my parents didn't want to have me feeling left out so they created a special bike for me. They took a boy's bike frame, sprayed it white and added new stickers and 10-speed handle bars! It looked new and everyone wanted to know where Santa found a jr. 10-speed. I have a picture of me on it on Christmas day. I should scan it and post it sometime. My parents were always making our holidays special by creating/finding something unique. That bike was my brother's favorite thing to ride because he couldn't pop a wheelie on the 10-speed!
Hope y'all will include your holiday memories too.
Have a happy Friday!

hi everyone, a quick post before i head out on a day of errands and shopping. my big son is home from college so the big guy will drive his mom around today and carry all the packages, it makes me feel like miss daisy!
i weighed yesterday on the scale in the recovery room where i work and unfortunately no loss, but no gain. i seem to lose every other week. i think i am getting close to or in a premenopausal state(finally) so need to get to my gyn doctor. maybe having a period for three weeks is keeping me from losing.
i really enjoy the tuesday chats.
frog: hope your toe is better and your dog is doing ok, get well to both of you!
deb: i went to the local health food store and told them about the agave and they said they would find me some. they did! so zsu and i have a supplier right down the street from the hospital.
busdeb: glad to chat with you on line. i am slowly figuring out who is who on this board. i check out the bio and photo board and am putting names with faces.
quilter: i am from cinti too. i went to nursing school at good sam in clifton many years ago. (1970) i met my husband who lived in mt. washington area at that time. i used to live in clifton and before we headed to florida in1978 we lived in apts off galbraith rd. i miss cinti, my sister lives in harrison, ohio so we go back at least once a year, we were there is june for a big graduation party. i used to bring back all the good cinti treats whenever we visited (skyline, montgomery inn bbq sauce, frischs tartar sauce and larosas spaghetti sauce) and always went to greaters for ice cream! none of those items SB legal! it is funny how i tend to associate good times and places with good food, my
son almost went to the university of cinti to play football for them, but opted to stay in florida at UCF in orlando
zsuzsu: keep uo the good work, i will see you at work next wed, yes i have 5 days off over the weekend! lots to do!
big hello to everybody else, hope everyone has a good weekend!
GO VOLS!!!!!! yes, we live breathe and eat football at our house
my son jeff who plays for the university of central florida said that the VOLS are the ones this year! we shall see!

Good Friday Morning:wave:
Another day of wet outside, rained in the middle of the night at some point. Not only hot out there, but muggy as heck too. I went for my walk/jog. Didn't feel like going (tired) and my right ankel was bothering me (sore for some reason), I only jogged 1/2 the distance I usually do and what I did walk/jog I did slowly-not the greatest day out there for me. Really looking forward to not walking tomorrow.
I did REALLY well yesterday with my water intake. I drank OVER 3 liters of water, and boy, did it show! I went before I left the house, was backing the car out of the driveway and had to run back in to go again. Then I stopped at Winn Dixie, Norman Bros (produce), Wild Oats and the Library and visited the potties at those places, all in a short period of time:^: By the time I had to p/u Lauren at school and stop at the grocery store, I was ready to about burst again-made it home though-must of hit the stalls between home and being out a good 30 times!! Trying to do well again today, just finishing up a 1.5 liter bottle of water as I type. Also, I journaled my food yesterday for the entire day and did well with that too.
Scale is down another 1/2lb, but again, still up 4.5lbs. It's day 14, mid-cycle, so I'm hoping the scale will continue to go down some more as each day passes.
I was sent this by a friend, this is DEFINITELY what I suffer from!! my Mothers said it must be hereditary, as she seems to suffer from it as well! LOL!

* * **
* * **
* * * * BUT FIRST I'm going to go through the mail. Lay car

* * * * BUT FIRST I'll take the trash out, but since I'm
* * * * going to be near the mailbox, I'll address a few

* * * * Oops...there's only one check left. Where did I put
* * * * the extra checks? Oh, there is my empty coffee cup

* * * * BUT FIRST I need to put the cup back in the kitchen.
* * * * I head for the kitchen, look out the window, notice
* * * * the flowers need a drink of water. I put the cup on

Going to JCPenneys today, they have a sale and I get an extra 20% off the final prices due to the kids' Dad. Tomorrow I'm hitting Sears, the things I bought for Michael are due to have another 10% off, plus I found a $5 coupon I can use-every little bit of savings help. I plan to be there at 7am so I can start my garage sales at 8am.
TV, house sounds like it's very festive:D I love seeing all the lights around town-one thing we Jewish people don't do normally (but I've seen a house once decked out for Hannukah). Honestly, I do believe you may of seen your Dad. When I was watching CROSSING OVER one day, he mentioned to a gal that he was reading that she had thought she saw her Father driving his truck and that was indeed him. I don't understand it all, but I do believe in it. My GM came to me about 6 years ago and I know it wasn't a dream-clear as a bell and I remember it very vividly. I'm sure your Dad is with you all the time:) Glad to hear you are keeping up his tradition with the lights. I think it's good for you to go with your Mom to this meeting tomorrow. Obviously she feels she needs this and that's a great sign for the healing process. When you know there's a problem and you push it under the rug, that's what can get people in trouble in the long run-recognizing you have trouble with dealing with something and doing something about it really does help in so many ways.
ROSALIE, thanks for letting me know you made AND LIKED the muffins :)
MUSIC, glad to hear they haven't found anything in the tests and hopefully they won't, other than that it's stress related. Maybe it was just a fluke thing that happened. Heck, I can't imagine being a teacher-hard enough to deal with 2 kids-I give teachers a LOT of credit!!!!
BOB, sounds like you and Eli are running neck and neck with high cholesterol. I think he mentioned his was 284-almost like twins! So, what are you going to do to try and get these numbers down??? Eli said that yes, naturally decaf. , but they don't have Columbian in decaf. He mentioned some other java one that they do have. You should try to call him at work this evening, I think tomorrow is the end of the sale-possibly today, not 100% sure.
FROG, hope furry child is feeling better today! I hope all comes back a-okay with her blood work in 2 weeks. I love dogs and it's so hard to see when they are sick or old. I would LOVE to have another dog, but when my dog MARLO passed away almost 21 years ago at only 8 years old, I just couldn't bring myself to go through it again. She was a member of the family, not a dog. We buried her at a pet cemetary here in Miami, in a wood box with pink satin lining and she has a foot stone. I can't even bare to go visit her grave, only been there twice in 20 years-just thinking about it makes me teary-eyed. I'm sure this is not something you'll have to think about for a long time-but I do understand how hard it is to see your "baby" possibly have something wrong. Hmmm, a holiday memory-gosh, I can only remember my Mother giving me some poetry books I wanted by PETER MCWILLIAMS and me opening them up to read them and taping the paper back up before the holiday rolled around. Geez, I'm lucky if I remember what happened yesterday or last week, much less during a holiday when I was a kid-hmmm, maybe I was a deprived child and that's why I can't remember! Thanks for sharing your bike story!!
FRUIT, another 1/2lb-CONGRATS!!!! I'm so glad you are back OP and feeling good!!! The WC Program is worth the $10 it costs, I recommend it!!!
MELF, great news to hear you got back down to your goal weight! CONGRATS!!! A quick hello is fine, esp. during this time of year. We all know how hectic and busy everyone can be:)
LDBLOND, thanks for reminding what PB sings-DUH! Sounds like you had a good day OP-keep it up:) I hope NANCE will get her butt back on here too. Let me know if you happen to hear from her.
ZANNE, another card company charging-geez, when one starts, seems they all want to do it. I don't think that many people would pay-I surely won't. I wonder if this was considered AFTER or BEFORE Sept. 11th. Hope there will be a few sites left that will be FREE!!!
BIGK, have a wonderful time with your son!! Great news on the agave!! What do you plan to make with it?? Don't worry about not losing this week-it could be worse, you could have a gain like I did!;)
Okay, must go get something to eat then get in the shower. I'll check in with you all later. Kids will be with their Dad tonight and Eli's working a bit late, so the computer will be MINE, ALL MINE!!!!:spin:
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Good news today! I finally made it to the 150 mark!:D Really motivated me to keep going.
I've decided to hold off on having the other tests run right now. All my numbers looked good yesterday. I really think it may have just been a fluke thing. All the tests will add up to several thousands of dollars. Insurance will cover them but we have $1000 deduct and then it only pays 80%.:( The dr I went to (Dennis' regular dr.--I don't have one except my ob/gyn) is a good dr. but does tend to overdo on the tests, especially if you have insurance.:dz:He did give me samples to take for the bladder infection I didn't know about. No symptoms. Gotta go. Time for class.

Well what a day this has turned out to be. I have had our annual bus driver dirty santa/cookie swap planned for weeks now. I was getting the finishing touches done on our lunch when I looked out to check on the animals. Water was running all over the ground out near the barn. The horses had kicked the water spicot(sp) and it broke at the base. So water was going everywhere. There is not a turn off value for it so I had to shut the water off at the meter. We had the party with no water. But we had a great time and hubby is coming home to fix it.
Cya all later.

Well, I feel like I've been in hot water heater limbo for the past several days. The plumber that came out could not fix it because it was an electrical problem. He charged me $95 to tell me that. The electrician that came out also did not fix it, but that was because of incompetence. Then his boss came out the next day and got everything fixed OK. But we were stuck at home just waiting for phone calls or people to show up. Now I need a plumber again because the seal around the bottom of the commode is leaking. I definitely am not calling the original plumber and will wait until Monday for my old reliable and fair priced but slow guy to come.
I totally blew it last night. I went to a dinner honoring the volunteers that work at the Crisis Pregnancy Center and I ate everything that was served me: potatoes, rolls, dessert, 8 oz. piece of filet mignon, punch, etc. When I analyzed it I realized that I did not feel any where near as good as I do when I eat correctly, with the proper amounts and none of that sweet stuff. Just one of those loss of mental control things where I deluded myself.
Frog: Regarding a Christmas memory--mine does not revolve around a gift, but around the traditional activities we have in our family. We do decorate a tree and have certain rituals that we follow each year in decorating it. Certain decorations go on first and we often discuss when or where we got certain ornaments. My favorite activity/memory, though, is the special dinner we have each Christmas eve. I fix probably the nicest dinner that we have all year, with the best china, crystal, etc. We have lots of cancles lit on the sideboard, maybe 20 or so. And we have very special food, like lamb chops with a mustard-rosemary glaze, 100% wild rice, and some fancy vegetable, or lovely salad. We have a birthday cake with 21 candles on it and we sing happy birthday in honor of the birth of the Christ child, whose birth is what Christmas is celebrating. We have a devotional and just a special time sitting and talking around the table.
Regarding the holiday season, I heard a very interesting "editorial" on the radio yesterday. The speaker was discussing the Christmas or Hannukah celebration that we have now turned into the "Winter Holiday." It now is not PC to use those religious terms. So the "Winter Holiday" has reduced us to vacuous talk about the weather or shopping, rather than the miracle that each of these special days holds for those that celebrate them. He pointed out that, in fact, there is absolutely no reason at all to celebrate a "Winter Holiday" and that people that go along with the celebration but "can't wait for the holidays to get over" probably should not celebrate them at all, since they really are not celebrating anything significant. His parting comment was that what is now called the "Winter Holiday" sprung TOTALLY from a religious observance, and that withough that religious basis, the "WH" is absolutely meaningless and fatuous. Thus, our attempt to turn this religious observance into a sterile "Winter Holiday" is foolishness at its heighth.
I thought this was so interesting because all the stuff that goes along with this time of year--when we get so tired of the treadmill of shopping, baking, decorating, wrapping, mailing, etc, etc.-- begins to obscure the awesome power and love shown by a God to His people. He revealed Himself through the miracle of providing a continuing supply of oil to keep the lamp lighted, even though there was not enough by human estimation. And for us Christians, He revealed just how much He loves and values us--we are worth the life of His own perfect son, who came to us here on earth during that first Christmas. So, I hope all of you all on this great board have a really special time with family and friends as you remember what this time of year is all about. And I thank Frog for such a good and thoughtful question that gets us to thinking about what motivates us during this time of year.
For all you non-FL girls, it is really hot down here, and we could use just a little bit of your cooler weather. I think it is 80 degrees today. Although I love hot weather and think we have it great here, I would love a break in the warm humid days. I've been planting pansies and flowers to bloom in the spring. Found some great, all orange pansies and just picked up some blue (dark purple ones) today. So, we'll have a Gator garden in the spring. Also, I have tomato plants growing in pots in the driveway, along with lettuce and beans. The beans are spent, though, so will pull them up and replant.
We'll I yakked too much. So, I'll go clean my kitchen and get ready for din-din.

hey gals!
I'm just rolling - I'm down another half a pound today! I know this will stop soon so I've got to enjoy it while it's happenin!! I really need to start exercising! I'm gonna walk tomorrow morning - I'll do my 2 mile route around the neighborhood. I think my feet will go into shock! "What - we're actually gonna walk past the mailbox today?!?"
BOB: Only 25 hours until kickoff!! See ya on the field!! I can't believe the VOLS fans in this place - I'm so upset!! My boss and I are the biggest LSU fans so we've been yapping all week about the game and I have a fellow teacher who is a VOLS fan. Actually, her hubby is from TN and went to UT and so she's just kind of converted! She was saying that they all had orange shirts on (her, hubby, & 2 kids)& they went to take a picture with Santa - the whole family in their TN orange. Well, when they walked up the santa at the mall here was telling the kids that they should be for LSU and not TN!! HAHA! She was like - the santa harrassed us at the mall!!! I told her that's what she got for wearing that orange crap around here!! Oh yeah - question - Who's having a baby in May? I saw you mentioned something about a baby - are you pregnant?
DEB: How can I put an avatar under my name - I've got to get an LSU something to put there!!
Well everyone - I'm going to eat supper! I'm starved! See y'all tomorrow!

Whoa! The board's quiet tonight. Everyones out on Friday night.
MISSY--After thinking about it, I want to say that I've decided to pull for your LSU Tigers tomorrow. We needed to get some balance for this game, and looks like everyone was going for the Vols. So I wanted to even things up a little. So, Go Tigers!
I also have a couple of other reasons for pulling for LSU against UT. A little bit of history, now. When the Gators won the SEC back in 1984, the NCAA was busy putting sanctions on our team. Five "wonderful" teams in our SEC then decided to lead a charge to strip us of the SEC championship, which we had already won on the field. The Auburn Tigers, Fillise's dear team, were staunch supporters of UF keeping our trophy (War Eagle!), and they were supported by LSU, MSU (Go Dawgs!) and Ole Miss (Go Rebs!). The 5 other teams that were in the conference at that time, UT, Ala, Ga, Ky, and Vandy decided to add to the pain, and so the winner that year is now listed as "vacant." So, Gator fans still remember who our friends were.
Also, in the spirit of keeping things interesting, it would be fascinating to hear all the hollering if LSU wins and Nebraska, which lost by a HUGE amount of points to the Buffs, ends up as the second team in the Rose Bowl--by default. Might speed things up to move to a playoff system, like they have in BBall.
So, in memory of who our old friends were, in the spirit of keeping things balanced, and to pull for a monkey wrench to gum up the BCS works, GOOOOOO TIGERS!!!
Missy, I personally think UT will come out on top, but stranger things have happened, as we have all seen the past 2 weekends. I know both you and BOB will be glued to your TV sets, unless you have been fortunate enough to get a ticket and a place to stay in Atlanta. If I knew you were going I would tell you of a great little place to stay. Hope we end up back there next year.
I'm fighting a cold. Had it since yesterday, and have been using that zinc gel stuff for my nose. My DH just fixed me a hot cup of lemon cold medicine, so am hoping the two of them will knock this thing out. I haven't had a cold in over a year, and I caught this one from my DH. We want to put our tree up this weekend, so want to feel better when I help with that.
Take care all, and have a great weekend.

Hey All:wave:
Hope the start of the weekend is off to a good start for you all. I just got home from running around. Had to run to Michael's school to get him a book he left-lucky for him the janitors let me in!
Getting ready to hit the hay, going to be up early tomorrow. Thought I'd be able to get on the computer earlier, but Michael needed it, has a lot of homework. Finally asked him if I could have it for 15 minutes to post a quickie.
I'll try to post somewhere between garages sales and making food for Eli's Xmas party at his bosses house tomorrow night. I'm making HUMMUS and KNAFI, the later being a sweet dessert (none that I will have) and we're taking DOLMAS, which are stuffed grape leaves (to lazy to make them from scratch, have a huge can of them to take).
If I don't get around to posting tomorrow, def. on Sunday.:)
Sorry I don't have the time or stamina to reply to you all tonight, but I'm sure you understand;)

Hi,
What a week this has been. I have not been very good in keeping my promise to post everyday, but things, like work, just demand so much of my time.
I think I need to give up work---and then I woudn't be able to buy any food so it would work two ways. More time-no food. NOw that isn't reality, so I will just get here when I can.
I have really tired to stay on program and did well, but the scale is just not moving this week, maybe next.
The one this that I did od was get an abcessed tooth and I get to have root canal done on Tues. Just what I wanted for Christmas. Just what I needed - another hole in my head. THe pain makes me crazy, and I can't take the painkillers until 7 am tomorrow cause I am on call. But I am off tomorrow until 7 am Sunday so I hope to get a handle on the pain, and maybe get so stuff done like get my Christmas decorations up.
Well, I got to go and try to get comfortable. Hope to be able to post tomorrow.
See ya----Laurie

Hey Y'all!
Happy Saturday! I decided that I'm not gonna post my losses up here cause I'm scared they will stop! So, just check below my name to see my day to day progress! I'm so fired up but scared that when it slows that I won't be motivated any more - BUT I'M NOT GONNA GIVE UP!
Let me tell you ladies, you know I'm dedicated to this because I haven't been to my "hang out" in over 2 weeks. My hangout is a daiqueri shop! I don't know how many of you all like to have a drink every now and then but we used to go every Thursday night and usually for a little while on Friday & Saturday night. I'm not talking that we go and get drunk now...we just go and I have a large daq. and hubby has a few beers. For a lot of people 1 large daq. puts them over but it takes me a lot - after all - I am large myself! That's my huge weakness! Another bad thing about that is: a lot of our friends work or hang out there - so we haven't visited with them!! We never talk on the phone with them cause we would see them a few times a week! Guess I'll have to pick up the phone!
BOB: Today is the big day!
GEAUX TIGERS!
I'll meet you here right after the game! Win or lose! You know I'm a good sport! You know I want the tigers to win but if the VOLS win I'll be happy that they can go to the Rose Bowl. I cancelled my order for Sugar Bowl tickets cause they were 65-95 dollars a piece and I had ordered 4! I can't afford that!!! If we hadn't gone to Kentucky this year I would definately get them but we figured that we would spend way too much money. If LSU would win we would spend the day on Bourbon Street - which is very costly!, we would get a room in the Quarter and we would drink way too many $5 draft beers at the DOME! So, since we are having people sleep here for New Year's Eve we will all just party here for the game the next day. Either way, wether we win or lose today, LSU will be playing on New Years day. If we lose tonight we play in the Cotton Bowl. So, we will just party for 2 days straight! whew! hey tell me how to do the avatar and where I can get an LSU one - PLEASE!
MEL: What happened girl?!?! You couldn't have been that bad?!?!
LAMAP: I'm sure that tooth is painful! About 5 years ago my dentist told me that I should get a root canal done on one of my back teeth. Well, it has never bothered me so I never did! It was something that he saw on an xray. I mean - who has money for that?!? Especially when it doesn't even bother you! So, I'll wait until I'm in your situation then have it done! :( Hope you feel better!
Well, I'll check back later today. I'm gonna finish decorating and clean house! Fun Fun!!

MISSY--To post an LSU avitar, my suggestion is to go to an LSU web site or message board and download one of the gifs you find there. Just click on something you like and hold the clicker down until you get a message that says something like "Save?" or "select file to download" or something like that. The only problem I had was finding something that was small enough that 3FC would allow you to use as an avitar. I think they give parameters regarding that on the controls page of this site. Go to your profile, I think, to get that info. Good luck. Geaux Tigers.

Hey BOB can ya send the wagon for me too? MEL you're not the only one to fall!
Yesterday I had a box of shortbread cookies calling to me. I thought "just one" Well, one led to nearly a third of the box (about 1/2 lb) within 24 hours. :o But, I think I'm learning my lesson. I feel yucky; queezy and like a big lump is sitting in my stomach. On top of that, I had pulled something in my knee on Thursday and it still bothered me yesterday, so I skipped the elliptical. YIKES!
Tonight is steak, brown rice with homemade tzatziki and bean salad. And back to "Ellie"(the elliptical) It's a start. i'll be surprised to see a loss on WIW!
C'mon Mel I'll boost you into the wagon and you can help me in and kick my butt!

OH....MY....GAWD!!!!! :(
MISSY..... Great game...I really enjoyed it...My team just DID NOT PLAY!!! Sorry about the two players, but I don't think either was intentional. I have to say though...MAUCK is better than DAVEY.....Our Quarterback is terrible....too HOLLYWOOD!!! The back up that we have is better than him, and the position was supposed to be his, but when they signed Casey, that's all she wrote...I can't figure out WHO IT IS DOWN THERE THAT THINKS HE'S GOOD AT WHAT HE DOES???? I am glad it was nip and tuck that's what makes a good one..
Are you sure you don't want to dig up some extra cash and head over to NEW ORLEANS????
I'm off to bed, my heart can't take anymore...Thanks to all who tried to yell my team to the end zone...

Oh MY! What a great game! I have to agree with you BOB about Mauck. He did a great job - so did Davis! I was very happy that they were able to come in and be successful because they had big shoes to fill. Personally, we are not Rohan Davey fans - at all! I think the media pumps him up to be more than he is. Did you see his family when they showed them on TV after he was hurt and Mauck was in? Did they look pissed off or what? Sad - I'm sure they are not that happy for the win because Rohan wasn't the star. He just thinks he is so cool - it makes us mad. Last year when Josh Booty was playing QB with him, the games Booty would start, Rohan would come out of the locker room last and not show much spirit. When he would start he was out there 1st and all fired up. One other game this year - can't remember which one Mauck came in and did a good job. But, you know how the story goes...the good thing is that Mauck is a Freshman and he'll be here next year and Rohan will not!! I'm just happy that the Tigers had a great season!
Unfortunately, we won't be going to the Sugar Bowl - it's just gonna cost too much $$ for this time of year. I only live 45 minutes from New Orleans, but I'll just stay home and watch it here! :)
Good game - very exciting too - I guess I'm really glad LSU won because noone thought they would. All the media was leaning toward the VOLS. Well, I'll see all of you on the board tomorrow!! By the way, I did have a beer and a half tonight and 2 brownies!! UGH - I'm so bad!! Don't worry I'll be right back on plan tomorrow!!

Allll Riiight!! Way to go Tigers! Looks like things are tough in the SEC this year! And that being on top with one game to go is not a good position to be in.
My condolences, BOB. I know how you feel. We were there last week. Countin' on a trip to Atlanta, and then had all our plans changed. :(
Yep, I saw where UT was probably going to the Citrus instead of Miami. I think the Gator fans are loved because they spend LOTS of $$$$ wherever they go. Are you coming over to O town for the game? Maybe we can get together.
Well, I'm gonna go back to bed. This bad cold of mine got me up at 5:30 for some cough syrup and a Theraflu powder. And I thought I'd check in on the score. Went to bed last night at halftime.
BTW, I wonder how much sugar is in cough syrup!

Good Sunday Morning Everyone:wave:
Just got in from my walk/jog. UGH! Didn't anyone tell Mother Nature that there was suppose to be a bit COOLER WEATHER, not hotter?!? Geez, they (those smart weather forecasters) said we'd get some cooler weather today-NOT! It's sooo hot out there. I thought I'd have a good time but it wasn't and boy, did I do good on my jogs, but I guess the heat made me slower than I thought. I did my 4.5miles in 49:20, no where near my best time. I was happy though on my lengths, I did one that I believe was over 1 mile:spin:
Eli's at work this morning, kids are still asleep-they're going out with my parent's later this morning-I haven't a clue what I'm going to do-possibly wrap some presents seeing that it's the first night of Chanukah tonight and I haven't done a thing (or bought the kids' big present yet). Seems to get tougher as the kids get older to find them interesting as well as useful items for their holiday gifts.
Last night was Eli's Xmas party for work. It was at his bosses house, too much food there. Besides what his boss made everyone brought more food-they'll be eating leftovers for ever!!! I was able to stay OP without any trouble, as I had some roast pork, shrimp scampi, nuts, my hummus, salad, pita bread, fruit and crab dip. Def. over did it in the fat department-could of done without the nuts-oh well, I must of ran a few of those calories off this morning!!!
Garage sales weren't too bad yesterday. I got Eli work pants, 6 for $12.00-Dockers and other name brands-hopfully, they fit! Got Lauren some stuff too. Found a brand new micro cassette recorder, never opened for $10-will help me to remember things!! Some toys for Eli's toy drive at work. Some other odds and ends. I HAVE to have my garage sale next week-I can't keep putting it off any longer-the crap is piling up all over the house!!
Scale is the same as yesterday, no gain, no loss. Hoping I'll be down some tomorrow. Now that I dipped below the 120 previously, I'd really like to stay there-guess that's all up to me!
FRUIT, B&B should stand for bed and breakfast, not beer and brownies! I'm sure you'll be back OP today, right? What the heck would make you eat those anyhow???? Not chastising you, just don't want you to get back into another rut!!!
LAMAP, don't worry about not being able to post daily, we all understand that everyone has things to do-post when you can:D Good luck with your root canal, those are always fun!
MEL, what's going on??????? What the heck would of made you fall off, and it sounds like you may of had a hard fall too!!!!!!
ZANNE, you AND MEL?? Hopefully, you got right back OP and it won't be an issue. Of course, hopefully you'll remember just how crappy you felt after eating those and it will remind you if there comes another time you find some cookies:s:
BOB, my condolences on the game:( Didn't watch/hear about it, but from what I see on the board, I take it they didn't shine on the field.
GATOR, hope you feel better, don't worry about the sugar in the syrup. You haven't e-mailed me back regarding the shirt, please do when you get a chance:)
Gotta go get the kids up and tell them to get ready. I'll check back later today. Please remember, we start the NEW WEEKLY BOARD TOMORROW

Ok- Now I have time to explain the wagon tracks criss-crossing my pathetic body:o . Friday was our annual neighborhood ladies' brunch- TONS of food, champagne, you name, it was there. Usually around 50 show up over the course of the day, lots of us take a 1/2 day off work to come and its a really nice get-together and belly up to the trough time. I WAS SOOO GOOD! I had 1 plate full of legal foods, mostly antipasto (which I brought), fruit, a slice of bacon, salad, you get the picture. Only drank water in my champagne glass! Sat at a table with 3 heaping plates of chocolate dessert goodies winking at me, and wasn't even tempted. Got lots of compliments and lots of questions about SB- it was hard not to sound like a zealot. I left at noon feeling great (and smug), ready to tackle shopping, wrapping, and raking the lawn ( again...won't this ever stop?). About 1/4 way through the lawn, my stomach decided that all that fruit, salady stuff, and proscuitto was not a good mix, so instead of my productive day I spent most of the afternoon in the bathroom feeling sorry for myself. That's when the idea wormed its way into my psycho brain that if the food was going through me that fast, I could have eaten ANYTHING and it wouldn't have mattered in the least, the more the better! Those three plates of chocolate goodies danced in front of my eyes. Visions of cheescake hovered in my peripheral vision. I fought it, and made it through driving my son to tennis practice, then a legal dinner at Burger King, then a trip to the grocery store while he was at cub scouts, then had a few chunks of summer sausage and 2 glasses of red wine at a parent gathering for kids interested in going to an international children's camp next summer....Then I got home around 10:30 and started to devour anything I could lay my hands on. Started legal- peanuts and 73%cocoa choc (but enough for a month, then moved on to the tins of boy scout caramel nut popcorn that we've been storing to give as gifts. That stuff is just like mainlining sugar! By midnight I was in tears, but still stuffing my face and licking my fingers. Really not a pretty picture. Unfortunately for me, my stomach was not flipping out at this and my theory that it didn't matter cause it would make me sick anyway proved not to be true.:?: Turns out I can easily digest crappy food, but fruit and vegies make me sick LOL! Unfortunately the only effect all that sugar had was that I couldn't sleep at all- I was vibrating all night, so grumpy all day yesterday during a visit to my brother, SIL, 9 month old nephew and their 4 month old frantic puppy. I DID stay legal yesterday (yeah me!) and so far today made it through breakfast.
So I'm back on plan, Thanks everybody who sent the wagon and gave me a leg up. I'm haunted by the compulsive face stuffing experience and afraid that I will be needing to relocate to the eating disorder board- kind of a scary thought, since I was very much there for 10 years of my life.
The scale is back to my sticking point of the last three weeks, 2 pounds higher than my momentary low, but 2 pounds lower than last week. So I'm doing a great job at maintenance, even tho I'm 15 pounds from goal:lol: .
Will try to convince myself to exercise today- only walked yesterday morning because the dog pushed me out the door. Today should be a heavy lifting day, but I'm more inclined to find some excuse not to:devil: Excuses are pretty easy to come by!
I'm sure you're pretty sick about reading about me now! Sounds like all the FOOTBALL FANS had quite a day yesterday!
Frog- I hope fur child is on the mend and future tests go well. What an experience! How's your toe holding up?
Deb- You need to do a garage sale or rent a storage unit:lol: I've been unloading some rarely used stuff on ebay. Good time of year to sell stuff, bad time of year for standing in line at the post office to ship it. But I had a lot of semi-junk jewelry, an extra camera, and my ds has been selling nintendo games he never plays. We spend far too much time checking out our auctions and sending emails!
Zanne- Hope your stomach has recovered and you are back OP too! It's just my psyche that hurts. We better keep ourselves on board this wagon now. Is is getting cold up there yet? It's weirdly warm here. My dd is talking about maybe spending the summer in TO doing research at U of T (no, BOB, that's not Tennessee!). They have a research exchange program in chemistry with Ohio State and she thought it might be fun to go "home". She'd probably live with my aunt who lives off Avenue Rd. at Eglington. I wish she'd come back here for the summer, but if she's not, Toronto's a good idea and I'll go visit for a while. Will email you and Rosalie if it happens.
Fruit- Beer and brownies doesn't even sound like a good combination! Hope you stopped before I did!
Gotta go do something productive- not that this isn't but the chore list is endless and tonight is the first night of Hannukah and my father and step-mother are coming for dinner. They are SB'ers too- at goal for 1 1/2 years now and not very strict, so except for the latke temptation, it should be easy.

Frog here, and as usual lately, in a hurry! Hate not feeling like I have time to post to everyone!
I have just come in from breakfast with DH at IHOP. YUM! that Chicken Fajita Omelet!
Ran 9 of my 10 miles yesterday. Had a ton of trouble with right leg (knee and leg) and ended walking more than I wanted. Will do some Yoga today to attempt to stretch it out.
NEWS: Our dog, Dixie has adopted a stray cat!!! She found her Friday night while I was working in the yard. Poor ktity had been locked in our basement for a few days! Anyway Dixie was sniffing at the vent and then I heard the cat meowing. I have been feeding it ever since, bought her a collar and set her up with a bed in the garage. Tuesday or Thursday I will have time to take her to the vet and make sure she is 1) not pregnant, 2) not Fe Luk positive, and 3) set her up for a spay appointment. She is a beautiful cat, appears young and quite friendly. She's been hanging out here for a while, but pretty aloof. I think my dop has been "playing" with her for most of the fall. The dog and the cat get along great. They bump noses, sniff (of course) and the cat purrs when she sees Dixie. We haven't named her yet, don't want to get too attached until I know she's healthy. I really wouldn't mind bringing her in, but DH is not too cool on having the cat with claws in here with new furniture and I DON'T do litter boxes anymore. As long as she is OK outside I will leave her out there. If the weather is bad I will take care of her with a heating pad or let her in on the front porch.
Dixie needs to go back to the vet, need to figure out when/what that entails. Will have DH call tomorrow and get the scoop.
I will be in Raleigh next few days, so no post from Frog! :( Will try to peek again before I leave here at 5:00 EST.
Good game last night. Congrats LSU, better luck next time VOLS.
See y'all again on Tuesday.

Just popping in for a minute.
Happy Hanukkah to all who celebrate. I'd like to ask a question for my own understanding. With the menorah (sp?), is the candle in the middle lit all the time? Is it lit first? I live near a community with many Jewish people and there is a huge menorah that is put up, but since I don't drive by there at night, I can't remember the order of the candles. Also, why are the candles lit? I'm just curious. My favorite course in high school (catholic) was the world religions course. We even had a sadar (sp?) supper. But that was 20 years ago and my memory is rusty. I like to learn about different cultures--especially the food!;)
MEL Wanna join me in pleading temporary insanity?:dizzy: Sounds like you hopped back on the wagon after it ran over you. Good for you! Try to do some exercise, even if it's not what you usually do. Maybe that will at least help to keep you in the habit. I know it's so easy with the excuses. With my stomach protesting yesterday, I really didn't want to get on Ellie, but I made myself do it and I felt better, both physically and mentally. YOU CAN DO IT!!! That sounds like a great opportunity for your DD. Nice that she'd have family to stay with. It's starting to get colder here, but still unseasonable warm. Lovely sunny day here today.
FROG Sounds so cute the way Dixie plays with the kitty. Hopefully she's a healthy cat so puppy can have a sibling! Sore toes, sore legs. Poor you. Hope you're all healed soon!
Debelli I think I'm back on the wagon! I just look at the box and feel queezie. Went to the HF store today to browse for legal snacks. Got a bit of this and a bit of that. Hopefully I'll find some things I'll like
All the Football Fans Congrats to those whose team(s) won and condolences to the losers. I'm not a big football fan, but enjoy all your enthusiasm on the board!:D
Big HI to everyone I've missed Sorry I can't get to you just now.
I've been on here too long and really need to get stuff done.
See YA:wave:

Thanks, Frog, for helping Missy out with the avitar. It's been so long since I've done it, and I was just guessing.
Missy, you can also go to the Tiger Lair message board and there are some neat avitars there--tiger heads and stuff like that. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll send you an e-mail with the URL.
Debbie--Run it by me again about the shirt. I either forget or missed that post.
BOB--Ya doin' OK today? I know I was down in the dumps after we lost to you guys, so I hope you are doing OK. It's really weird how the #2 team lost in all the major games the last two weeks. Like you all were doomed or sumptin.

AFTERNOON EVERY BUDDY!!!
BOB is dragging her lip just only slightly today...I will make NO EXCUSES for my team.... THEY FLAT OUT DID NOT PLAY TO THEIR CAPABILITY..... PERIOD!!!!! All the announcers were saying that they used all their energy last week when they beat the GATORS ...I say BALDERDASH!!! They have been playing Saturday to Saturday all season long...I was just MEANT for LSU to win...they certainly played the better game...
DEB I tried to call ELI the other night and who ever answered the phone said he wasn't there. So, if what I have at your house is still available, that will be fine with me..I would have liked to have had two more of the canisters, but the two there will do the trick..Let me know...
I'm in the middle of 52 weeks worth of laundry...I'll check in later..

Missy--Here are some links to some message boards where you can find small avitars about LSU:
You may have to scroll down some to see a couple different avitars, but there are some pretty good ones for LSU.
Good luck.
BOB--I think that UT came off such an emotional win over the Mighty Gators last week that they just weren’t up to snuff for this game. Just MHO. I know how you are feeling, where it was Soooo close, and then those 19 and 20 year olds just messed up!! Can’t let it get you down. It’s just a game, thank goodness. We’ll see you next year in Knoxville.
