Before surgery, I always wondered where all of the post ops were. So thought I would say hello. Let's see, I had laproscopic Roux y y in 2002. No complications. 300 to 150 and then became pregnant with DS. Healthiest pregnancy and son ever! No more meds and a new lease on life. Surgery was the best thing I ever did for my health!

Fast forward to 2007, when I had two miscarriages this year (nothing to do with WLS- don't worry) and put on a little weight. I've made lots of excuses about this weight, but none of them are good enough reason to screw up the fantastic weight loss and all the wonderful health benefits I've enjoyed over the years from the weight loss. I've been mourning for a long time and now it's time to move on and get the weight off before it gets out of control. My family needs me to be healthy and so do I.

I have no regrets at ALL about the gastric bypass and the type I chose. So good luck to all of you about to have surgery. It is going to be the most difficult, wonderful, wild time for you!

MRC has a special program for post ops and I'm having good success with the supplements and the support. I'm only meant to lose 1 to 2 lbs a week, but I think I will probably lose faster than that. The sheer amount of protein alone is going to keep me full. There is no room in my pouch for cheating! LOL.

I'm trying to get down to 130 this time, but we'll see. I'm running for my exercise, and sometimes I can't get below 150 if I'm doing enough running and weights. Anyway, I'd love to hear from any other post ops and come say hi to me over on the MRC board sometime! :p

Best wishes to all of you!

so nice to meet you, darlin! and congrats on everything you've accomplished - on sooooo very many levels.

and, how much protein does your program require? i think it's wonderful that you have a program for longer-term post-ops. very few organizations do that, and it's a big problem. inquiring minds want to know more!!!!
