Did everyone survive the Turkey celebration????? For our Canadian friends, tell us about your weekend.
I feel like a stuffed bird.
So, I got an empty journal out and I'm tracking.
Today, I have used a total of 3 points, so far! How have I used so few, you ask.
For breakfast, I had---
1 slice reduced calorie toast -- 1/2 pt.
w/ 1 Tbps. jam -- 1 pt.
1 very small banana (it was so small that I counted it as 1 1/2pt.)
hot tea -- 0 pt.
Lunch
0 pt. veggie soup (I had 2 bowls of it.)
I've had one Diet Coke w/lemon
For supper, I have a WW recipe for mac 'n cheese and I've baked a meatloaf. (I don't eat the meatloaf. I'll have some French bread.)
And, I'll make a salad.
With all the water that I'm drinking, I'm hoping I'll stay full.
What are y'all eating today?????

Hi,
Tina, thanks for starting a new thread. As you can see, I found it! :)
I weighed in today and gained almost 3 pounds but TOM is just around the corner. Hopefully Wednesday, it will be gone! I'm at a grand total of -15 pounds. I still feel like a blob today!
So far I had a dairy bar for breakfast. Homemade fried rice w/ shrimp for lunch. (it was yummy, made it last night) some low fat cheese and melba toast. Not sure about supper, but I'm ready to go eat something good. I'm also trying to drink all of my water. I've been putting lots of lemon and lime in it.
Ok, now to sound stupid but do Candians celebrate Thanksgiving?
Tina, your day sounded pretty good. I like that dinner Mac. & cheese and bread! Right up my alley!!

Ladies, I didn't use my credit card on the shopping trip!!! Well, actually, I did use it at the bed and breakfast, but that's it!
Next year we have to take a larger vehicle. We took my Malibu. With 4 women, all of our luggage, and our purchases, we were quite cramped on the way home. We had a bookshelf wedged into the back seat between 2 of my friends. We did so much laughing and had a very nice time.
Next year we drive someone's van or rent a U-Haul.
As of right now, I don't even want to get weighed this week. With 2 Thanksgiving meals and what we ate while shopping, I don't think the scales will look very pretty to me. We did do a tremendous amount of walking though while we shopped.
We arrived in Metamora, Indiana, about 10:00 to start shopping. Went back to our room mid-afternoon for a short break, then headed back to the shops. We made it back to our room about 9:45. Got up Sunday morning, had breakfast, packed the car, and headed for the shops again. You know, those last minute things. The shops opened at 10:00 again and we were there. We finally left town about 2:30.
My BP has been great since I started the medicine almost 2 weeks ago. Today I had a headache and just didn't feel right. I took my BP when I got home and it was up again. I need to stop in to see the doctor after school tomorrow. I've been keeping track of all the readings that I've taken.
I can't believe how much I've written. Where is Abilene? In Texas?

Glad to see everyone had a good thanksgiving holiday. I didnt eat as much as I normally would have, which is good, and we didnt have near the leftovers this year. We cut back on the amount of desserts that were made....and alot of the extra's that are just that...extra calories, extra points ;)
And yes Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving, but their's is celebrated on the second Monday in October, instead of in November like ours is.
Sounds like you had a great time on your shopping trip Tammy!
Hang in there Susan...that gain will be history by next week:eek:
Great job on your eating Tina....how was the WW mac n cheese recipe?
Gonna head to bed...have a good day tomorrow....

Good morning,
Dee, it sounds like you were really good on Thanksgiving. Congrats!!!!! Those leftovers will kill ya.
Tammy, Abilene is in Texas. It's about 6 hrs. northeast of Houston. Yes, it is a long ride!
It sounds like you all had so much fun on your shopping trip. I can't imagine how you got that bookshelf in the backseat.
Good for you - not using the credit cards.
Susan---glad you found the thread ;) Count me in on feeling like a blob. Even after my healthy eating yesterday, I had such water retention this morning. :(
May I have your fried rice recipe???? Please !!!!!!!!
WW Mac'n Cheese -- it was soooooo good.
In my next post, I'll give you all the recipe. (the book is in the other room right now & I'm too lazy to go get it)
It is really good!!!!!
Have a great day.
Tammy, let us know how your bp is today. Okay!

Howdy,
We are under Winter Weather Warning. It started sleeting around 3:15 then stopped. May 1-3 inches accumlation of ice and snow. Let's see if it does anything now!! Tomorrow's high will be 33. Then back to the 60's this weekend. That's Texas :)
I don't have a particular receipe for my fried rice. I watched the guys at the Japanese resturant and came home and tried it. So here goes.
Susan's Fried Rice
1. Cook your rice
2. Saute chopped vegetables in PAM or a little olive oil ( I use carrots, celery, mushrooms, broccoli, cauliflower and chives) I use whatever I have in the frig.
3. Push the veggies over and scramble an egg or two
4. Add rice and mix all together
5. Sprinkle in Terikyi sauce and a little Soy Sauce. (I like the Terikyi the best)
6. Add Sesame seeds
7. Salt and Pepper
I like to add shrimp in it too. I buy the frozen shrimp and throw them in with the veggies after they have cooked.
I don't have exact amounts of the ingredients. It's really good. Hope you like it.

Good evening--
Lot's of us are having really cold weather today.
Susan, are you having snow. I see on the weather that my father-in-law is having ice and snow.
In Houston, we only get cold temps and rain. It felt miserable out today.
I did have a fun day, though!
I went to Target (it's a Super Target now) and looked and looked. I bought a few things, including Xmas napkins and 2 sizes of paper plates. You can tell that I don't want to mess with a lot of dishes this season.
Here's the WW Mac 'n Cheese recipe. Be sure to try it.
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 c. fat-free milk
1 c. (4 ounces) shredded reduced-fat cheddar cheese, divided
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
4 c. cooked elbow macaroni (about 8 ounces uncooked), cooked without salt or fat
Cooking Spray
1. Preheat oven at 350 degrees.
2. Combine cornstarch and milk in med. pan and stir until blended. Bring to a boil over med. heat, stirring constantly. Cook for 1 min.
3. Stir in 1/2 c. cheese. Reduce heat to low and cook until cheese melts.
4. Remove from heat and add remaining 1/2 c. cheese, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
5. Combine cheese mixture and macaroni; stir well.
6. Spoon into a 2-qt. baking dish coated with cooking spray. Bake at 350 for 10 min. or until thoroughly heated.
Yield: 5 servings (1 c. serving size)
6 points per serving.
(This is from the WW "Just Like Home" recipe book)
Hope you like it!

My BP is definitely not where the doctor wants it to be. It has been up every day so far this week. It was up when his nurse took it at the office.
I go back in 2 weeks to see if the medicine is helping. May have to take a whole pill instead of 1/2. May have to change the medication. I also go for a bunch of blood tests that week too. I am not happy about this.
Need to get some sleep.

Happy Friday Night,
Tammy, I'm sorry your bp isn't acting right. I hope you don't have to take more meds.
Where is everyone tonight? Maybe everyone is out partying and I'm the only one at home. :dizzy:
I shopped all day. Well, I did more looking than shopping. I got some good ideas for gifts.
Take care all and have a good weekend.

Hi gang! Basketball season has started so most Fri. and Sat. nights that's where I'll be. My brother is the varsity coach here and my nephew is playing on the junior varsity team. I hang out with my other brother and his family, and the coach's wife. Tim hangs out with his friends and tries to act cool. He can't wait until next year when he is in high school so he can play in the pep band. But he may go out for the freshman team instead. Who knows.
Tim is at basketball practice right now. Bob is shopping for a new cymbal for Tim's drumset for Christmas.
I need to get some papers graded and get some ornaments on the living room tree. It has lights, garland, and 1 ornament so far. LOL The other trees that are up are done. I have 5 up so far.
Only a couple more small ones to put up.
Have a great weekend all!!
Tina
12-01-2001, 04:19 PM
Afternoon,
Is everyone in the shopping malls today?
Tammy, how many trees do you put up in your house????? Wow, we do fine with only one. We'll probably put ours up next weekend. We usually put it up a couple of weeks before the day.
I was up bright and early to get to the 50% off sale at Sears. I found one thing for Larry. They could give me rain checks on the other things but didn't know when they'd come in.
Larry is outside putting up our lights. Last year we never got them up.
I haven't gotten to exercise yet today. I must find some time. Yesterday, I counted shoppiing and walking to the car as my exercise. :)
Everyone continue having a great weekend.

We'll have 8 trees this year, but that includes little ones. I have 2 that are over 6 feet, 3 that are 4 feet, and 3 that are 2 feet. I receive so many ornaments as Christmas gifts, I have to have someplace to display them, right? Remember, this is my 25th Christmas as a teacher!!
The cymbal that Tim wanted for Christmas is $95!!!! Bob didn't buy it, but he did buy the attachment to hook it to. Tim usually gets $ from some of the relatives for Christmas, so Bob thought maybe he could save that and he could help buy the cymbal. I thought that was a bit high!
My BP was 120/80 today. That's the best that it has been in ages. Wish it would stay that low.
My brother and his wife are taking my nephew to play hockey (he's on a travelling team) in Indianapolis tomorrow. I get the honor of taking my niece and her boyfriend back to college tomorrow afternoon. I've never met him. She is afraid that I will tease her terribly!!!! I can't imagine why she would think that! They are both freshmen at Miami University.
I ended up not getting all of my papers graded earlier. I also planned to run into my classroom and get some stuff done there. Instead, I sat and read. I guess I deserve to do that too.
Bob put lights on the bushes in front of the house one day this week. That's the first time we've done that since we moved to this house. I wanted to buy the small lights, but Tim wanted the larger size because that's what grandpa always did here. I can't remember if we sold his lights at the auction or if one of my brothers has them.
Yesterday would have been my mom's 70th birthday. I was pretty emotional, but I made it through. I can't believe that she has been gone almost 4 years.

Happy Holidays!
Tammy, WOW!!!! I can't believe that you have that many trees up. I have one, can't even imagine putting up more. :) We got ours yesterday. It's the largest we have ever had 8-9 feet tall. Pat had to help put ornaments on the top of it with a ladder. But it is beautiful. He put up the lights outside last weekend. I put garland and bows out on the fence line (around the entrance) and made a wreath to put on the house.
It was cold here this week. We had 2 days of ice but the roads weren't too bad so we still had school. Good, because we won't have to make them up. Then yesterday it was 72. As Tina knows, if you don't like the weather in Texas just a little while because it will change.
I'm staying away from the malls. I've done most of my shopping on line. It's great. I hate crowds. :dizzy:
Tammy, your bp was great. What meds are you on? With meds my bp is great! I can now tell when it goes up just by the way I feel. When you get it regulated you'll feel great! Happy Birthday to your Mom! I bet she had the best party ever in Heaven! !
Have a great day.

WOW---I was finally able to get in here! I now understand that things have been down. Very disgusting when you want to talk to friends. :)
Tammy, I cannot even imagine having that many trees in my house. Our cat would love it, though.
And, congrats on that low bp.
Susan, your tree sounds beautiful. We usually have a 6 ft. one.
I can't imagine not going to the stores at Christmastime.
I always loved going to Marshall Fields' this time of year. Then, they decided to leave Houston. :( I was crushed!
I'm wondering if it will ever stop raining. None of the weathermen knew we'd still have rain. They think that they know everything. Wrong.....
It was supposed to be back in the 70's yesterday and today. It was raining and cool. Yuk.
Hope everyone has a good Monday.
Dee, we haven't heard from you in awhile.
Sis, how are you doing?
Maureen where are you????
Addey, come on and let us know how the weight loss is coming.

I'm happy to say that I have most of mine done.
Now, it's time to send out the Christmas cards. Oh, oh, oh, I made a big mistake this year. I bought cards that are square shaped. This means that they require more postage....45 cents to mail ONE CARD!!! That is ridiculous. I'll know next year. :)
Let's hear from everyone, okay!

Good Morning Group
I just posted on the Weigh In Results thread (last week's). Why don't we just use it this time since so few posted last week!
As I posted on it, I gained 1.5 pounds since my last weigh in. This sounds worse than it is. Since I haven't weighed in for several times, I had gained 4 additional pounds.
I have gotten rid of most of those. Yea!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have a great day!

Howdy,
I'm done with my shopping too. This is the first time that I have gotten done this early. Only thing left is to get 2 $20 bills and wrap them for my nephews. I made my plane reservations for home. I'll go on Dec. 26 and return on Dec. 31. Pat's band plays that day and I want to be with him on that evening.
I lost 2 1/2 on Monday and nothing today. We'll see when I go on Friday. I would like to make 20 pounds by Christmas.
I'm off to my brother's house on Saturday morning. DOn't want to go over on Fri night since it will be dark and I'd be on the road 2 1/2 hours. I'd feel safer.
Nothing else new here.
Tina, that stinks about your Christmas cards.
Have a great evening.

Where does your brother live?
I know you will be anxious to get home. Will your parents have Christmas dinner for you the day after?
I stayed home all day. Wow! I almost completely made another fleece jacket. Hey, I'm getting good at this. :)
I just ate a chocolate Skinny Cow. I'd rather have had "real" ice cream. Oh well--not tonight.
Take care all,

Hi Tina,
Where is everyone lately? Hope all is well!
My brother lives in Kilgore. About 2 1/2 hours east of Dallas, about 1 hour west of Shrevport. (wonder where we will go??) He really wants me to come. He is 6 years older than I am.
Oh my family celebrates anytime one of us (my brother and I ) come home. There will still be plenty of holiday festivities going on, I'm sure. :)
Sounds like you're having fun sewing. When I am thin, I love to sew. I used to make lots of my own clothes. Have fun, it's true the more you do, the better you get. What all have you made?
Better run get in the shower so I don't have to go to work all stinky.
Have fun today! ;)

Good Morning to All!
Susan, I hope you have a good trip and have lots of fun with your brother. I have one sister who is 8 1/2 years older. (My mother always said it was like having two seperate familes since we were so far apart.)
Tammy, how are you feeling these days? Did you get all your trees decorated? We will buy and decorate ours this weekend.
Sis, how's it going?
Addey, I know you are out there. How is your job?
Maureen, come now friend-----post!!!
Dee, it's been too long since you told us what's happening.
Will anyone be going to look at decorations in their city this weekend? I think we'll go downtown to see the City Hall lights.
Of course, we could always go see the Enron building emptying out!!!!! Bad joke, I know. What a mess they made!
Have a great day all. :) :)

All of my trees are officially up and decorated. They look really nice, even though there are a lot of them.
My BP has been better. I go for blood tests next week for sugar, thyroid, cholesterol, and some other things. I guess I have to be checked every now and then because of the BP medicine (Tretamterine?). Can't remember the name and I'm too lazy to walk to the kitchen to look. Is that sad or what?
Rough day today (NOT!). The students had a 2-hour delay this morning. We were there from 7;30-9:30 for curriculum meetings. Students came at 10:00. I took them to lunch at 11;20, then I left to attend a science meeting this afternoon. We got out of the meeting early, so I was able to go to Wal-mart and another store, and was home before 4;00.
Tim was commenting the other night about how many homes are decorated this year. It seems like more than usual. Bob thought the same thing. We'll be driving to a basketball game tomorrow night, and I'm sure we'll see some pretty decorations on the way.

Hope all is well!
Tammy, glad you got everything up! :) I agree, there are more lights up this year. I love them!! Glad to hear about your BP. Let us know about all the tests.
Tina, I have a younger sister that is 9 years younger than I am with no one in between us. Everyone else is older than us! There are 5 of us all together. It's great!
Just got home from happy hour. I met up with some of my buddies that are at different schools. I sure wish we were all together.
I'm off to clean the house. I'm also going to my brother's in the morning for the day. I'll be back home on Sunday early afternoon.

Someone around here is industrious--cleaning the house at night! Good going, Susan .
It's been awfully quiet on the thread lately. Tammy, Susan and I are holding the fort down (or together). I'd be nice for others to post. hint, hint, hint
Well, we fininshed our outside lights this afternoon. They look great tonight. It seems our area of town tries to outdo itself each year. I'd love some of those lighted reindeers in the yard. I priced them and found them to cost $99.00 each. Forget that!
Does everyone send out Christmas cards? I had planned on getting mine out early this time. Not going to happen. I've sent just a few so far. I think tomorrow I'll address all that I can and not worry with the rest.
I did pretty good journaling today. I did poorly drinking my water. Dawn (on weigh in results thread) is trying to give me some tricks but they haven't taken yet.
Everyone have a great weekend.
Susan, have a safe trip.

I usually send too many Christmas cards! I've decided to cut back this year. The cost just keeps going up on stamps, and I really don't even enjoy it anymore. I'll still send to aunts and uncles and other relatives who don't live near us.
Tim got into the ball game yesterday! We didn't figure that he would play because the other team was supposed to be good. Tim's team won by 30 points!!!!!! We were all in shock. Including Tim who figured he wouldn't see any playing time at all. Tuesday they play a team that isn't supposed to be good, and Tim is planning on getting in. Might backfire!
Did some more shopping today. I'm finished with the gals I work with. We don't spend much on each other. I bought them lotion from Avon and little magnetic memo pads.
Bought Christmas pencils for my students. I also have book certificates that I bought through our book club. That way they can choose any book they want (under $2.00). We also draw for a candy cane every day at the end of the school day.
Wish more of the gang would post! I know I'm not posting every day, but I try to get here as often as I can.
Sunday school was going well this morning until 2 high school kids came down to the kitchen. My room is attached to the kitchen. They were beating on the counter and just being obnoxious. I asked them politely to please go back up to the service. They left, but they didn't go back upstairs. I was not happy, and neither were the students in my class. One boy is the minister's son, and the other boy is his friend. Touchy situation.

Tammy, it sounds like you are really getting all your shopping done. About those cards-----I have only sent out 4 so far. Me who was going to get them in the mail the weekend after Thanksgiving! I really don't know where the time goes. It seems that I'm just as busy as I was when I was working.
Good for Tim. aren't you glad he's having such a good time!
I do wish more would post!

Hi, I'm here!! :)
Got back yesterday late afternoon! It was fun, but quick. However, my teeth are now beautiful again (got them cleaned... my brother is a dentist.) We went to a party on his lake. I watched what I ate but still gained 3 pounds this weekend. I'll have to really pay attention and get back on track.
My folks are coming in on Friday. They haven't been up in almost 1 1/2 years. It's the first they've come near the holidays. So I'm excited about it!
I'm a sick one. I'm obessed about getting cards out the weekend after Thanksgiving. My list gets shorter each year. Mine is mostly family too! That's what happens when you both have large families.
Way to go Tim!!!
My shopping is done. However, I'm still looking for 1 or 2 things left for Pat. I don't like the crowds so I'm doing it all on line.
I'm with ya'll on everyone posting. We sure miss ya'll!!

Hi All,
Susan, I'm glad you had such a good time with your brother. And, I'm happy for you that your parents are coming up. Wow, it has been a long time since they saw your home!
Don't worry to much about the weight gain. You have will-power and will get it back off.
Me, on the other hand, seem to have lost all sense. I've been stuffing down the sand tarts that I made. I never really cared for the things before! Mother always made them and sent a batch home on Christmas day. I usually threw most of them away. I don't know what's wrong with me for eating so many this time.
I hate to say it but I'm not going to make my personal goal for Christmas.
How is everyone else doing???

Hi all,
Tina, I would just be careful about eating the tarts. Maybe you can ration some of the for each day. It sounds like it's more of a comfort food right now and makes you feel close to your mom.
I just want to eat everything in sight. I want junk food. I'm trying to be good.
Well see what the scale says tomorrow!
It's wet and cold here today. I just want to stay inside and under the covers. At least I did this morning. I'm ready for the weekend.
Have a good evening.

I've been lost...or just haven't been up to posting. Haven't gotten on the computer much lately is all..... sounds like everyone is getting all their shopping done. I don't do much for the holidays at my house. Put up a baby tree...its like 3ft tall...LOL. Have my shopping done...except for 2 guys....guys seem to be so hard to shop for.
Tammy how did Tim do in the game on Tues? Did his team win again!
What did the scales say Susan? Hope it was a nice loss for you. That junk food gets to everyone now and then.
Tina what are sand tarts? Hang in there, the holidays aren't the best time to work on loosing weight, but you can still strive to reach your holiday goal...we have 2 weeks left to become loosers :D
Here's a question for all you Texas people:^: does anyone know about South Padre Island...what is there to do there? Or how about Galveston? I heard that a person can go out on a fishing boat and if you don't catch a fish, they give you one? Or something like that....anyone know about this? Of course I personally would rather catch my fish at the local grocery store!!
Hang in there everyone!! Just 3 more weeks, and we start a whole new year!

It's Wednesday and and a new day to lose weight! ;)
Dee about your question----South Padre Island is great in the summertime. The beaches are long and the water is warm. Now in the winter, I wouldn't recommend it this time of year.
Now Galveston is a super place year round.
Yes, you can go out on fishing boats. There are ones that take short trips and then there is the deep sea one that stays out longer (it goes out farther, of course) and goes where there are red fish and bass and others I don't know by heart. :D
In Galveston, there are many motels & hotels and condohotels (Casa Del Mar is good). The train museium is very interesting. The Strand is one long street with lots of shops. Beware of the Candy Factory. (I can smell the fudge as I write.) Of course, there are seafood places on almost every corner. It's a great place to visit.

Hi guys  !
I thought I'd come introduce myself to you all. I usually only post on the Thursday Weigh in forum's... I've been lurking around the posts for a while, but never really post much myself. After reading this thread I feel like I'm getting to know you, so I'd thought I'd let you guys get to know me....
My name is Dawn, I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, I have an 8 year old daughter, and have been happily married for 6 months now. I have been battling my weight since I was pregnant with my daughter, I've only been on WW for 4 weeks now, and I am very happy with the results so far (-8lbs).
Guess that's it!

Hi Dawn, and everyone else--
Welcome to the Chatters thread. You are doing a great job at losing weight. Keep it up.
How is your weather right now? Do you usually have a lot of snow by now?
It rained all morning and then turned colder this afternoon. I had short sleeves on and nearly froze when I came out of a dept. store.
Susan, how are you feeling? Will you make it until the end of school?
Tammy, how is Tim doing? And, are you going to make it these next few days? My sister says her students are just silly now. She wishes tomorrow were the last day.
Dee, are you thinking about coming fishing in Texas?
Sis, how are you doing?
Addey and Maureen and Linda---where are y'all?
I have been drinking my water and having ONLY ONE Diet Coke a day. I think I deserve a round of applause..........
I'm not journaling. But, I found something good to drink for either breakfast or lunch. I bought a box of WW Smoothies.
Has anyone tried it? I got the chocolate flavor. I blend it with milk and it's good. If you use water, it's 2 pts. and one milk. If you go ahead and use milk, you get 2 milks with just 3 pts.
I've been having that and it's helping.

Hi,
Susan, I hope you have a good visit with your parents.
What have I been doing? Yesterday I made a fleece jacket and got it in the mail!!! Wow, was I tired last night.
Tomorrow, I'll start another jacket. This one is for my sister. I don't think I'll do it in one day.
Night everyone!

I agree that I wish it was NEXT Friday. Boy are the kids wound up!!! I'm trying to keep things as "normal" as possible, but I've never been normal myself! LOL
Planning to finish up my shopping tomorrow and Sunday. I have blood tests in the morning, Tim's ball game about 11:30, meeting some friends for a late lunch, baking something for church, and hanging out. Sounds like an eventful day. I think we are going to go see Harry Potter on Sunday.
I am hungry. I can't eat for 12 hours before the blood test. I think I should have eaten a later supper. Dumb me!!
Have a great weekend!

I can't believe Christmas is so close. Isn't it great!
Is anyone having snow or cold weather now? It is a little cooler here but not cold--and certainly no snow. I don't think I've ever seen a "white Christmas."
Dee-- you asked about sand tarts. They are sinfully delicious. They are roundish and are covered in powdered sugar. They are made of butter, powdered sugar, vanilla flavoring and a little water. You chill the dough and then roll it into balls and bake slowly. After baking, you roll them in powdered sugar. I have never tried to calculate the points. This is one dessert that is to be eaten and not thought about.
Tammy-- It sounds like you have a full day on Saturday. It sounds like fun (except for the fasting and blood test). Good luck to Tim.

Hi guys!
Yes Tina it's pretty cold here, a lot of our snow has melted so we only have about a foot on the ground right now. It's so beautiful to have a white Christmas! Actually we've had a brown one for a few years so this year is a treat! My husband and I are almost finished putting up our Christmas lights, everytime we think we're finished we go and buy more! We are the brightest house on our block! Whenever we think we're done we're going to take some photos. We've only been living in this house for 2 months so we are very excited about decoring it, it's so pretty... Only 1 tree though :)
Tammy - how did those blood tests go? Let me know what you thought of Harry Potter, my daughter really wants to see it!
Have a fab weekend!

Hi group!
Dawn, I'd love to see photos of your lights. We had to get more strings for outside this year. We decided to outline our front two windows. (We have a one-story home.) There are lots of houses on our block not decorated this year. Two streets over, every house has some decoration out.
You are so lucky to have a white Christmas. This year instead of cool weather, we're having lots of rain. :-( But, the sprit is here.
Speaking of spirit, have y'all noticed the change in people's attitudes this year? Everyone I have contact with wishes you a Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays. The country (all countries) has come together after 9/11. I'm getting nostalgic tonight. :)
I'm wishing everyone a good week ahead of us. Enjoy each day. Do something fun just for you!

Howdy,
Just got my folks to the airport. It has been raining "cats and dogs" I just talked to the and they had to wait 45 minutes to check their luggage and were waiting in line to go throug security. Now their flight is delayed 30 minutes. Wish I could have waited with them but you can't get in to visit with them. It's chilly and wet here!!
Tina, I am soooo impressed with your talents.:p Glad you got the jacket in the mail. You can always send one up to Big D if you run out of people to give them too! :)
Dawn, it sounds beautiful at your house. I would love to see pictures as well.
Tammy, tell us about your blood work. How is your blood pressure? Ditto, Friday can't get here soon enough ;)
Have a great day!

It's raining in Houston, too. It's been raining off and on all day. We have an 80% chance for the night, plus we're under a flash flood warning. Thrill.....like I don't have enough water in my back yard. :)
Susan-----I'm glad you got your parents to the airport safely. what all did you do while they were with you?
What size do you wear???????????? ;)
Dee, have you decided to come fishing in TX?
Tammy, get yourself online and tell us how you are.
Sis, how are you doing?
Addey----I know you are out there!
Everyone have a good Monday!

Hi Tina,
Let's see, we went to my school Christmas party Friday night. During that day, we met my brother for little while, he was in town with his girlfriend and her kids. Saturday, my brother was back in town to pick up some more tile for his kitchen. We met him for breakfast, then went to Trade Days and then went to the shops on the town square. It was a lot of fun!! First time they've been here around the holidays.
You are too sweet. I currently wear a size 18, but I'm working on that 14! I've lost 17 pounds. Hope I make my 20 pound goal before Christmas.
It's the same weather here! It's just yucky!! Such a fancy word.
Have a great evening.

It has been rainy here too. I think it has rained everyday since Wednesday. I know it has been alot because we have some water in our basement. That doesn't happen often.
The blood test was actually funny. They are remodeling the lab, so they were doing the blood work in the Chapel at the hospital!! I asked the lady if I was supposed to pray while I was in there. She laughed. When I walked into the chapel, the girl taking the blood was one of my former students. Luckily it was one that liked me! It could have been a very painful experience! She did great. I'm very proud of her. A few years ago she was running around with a pretty bad crowd. She is away from them now, and is doing quite well.
On Friday I had some dizzy spells off and on during the day. My blood pressure was up when I first took it, but it went down to normal later.
I go back to the doctor on the 28th. If there is something he is concerned with on the bloodwork, I know he'll call me before then. I am a bit concerned about the glucose test. I have so many relatives who are diabetic. I'm just waiting.
Susan, personally I like the work yucky. It describes the weather perfectly right now!!!

Harry Potter was great!!! I forgot to post that earlier.
Dawn, there were some scary parts in the movie, but I know some of my kids at school (2nd grade) have seen it and loved it.
I am ready to read all of the books again now. What a strange reader I am. The Left Behind Series and Harry Potter books! LOL I do read other things too.
I am tired of rain.

Thanks for the info on the 2 locations in TX. No I'm not planning to go fishing any time soon....but my folks are planning a trip down that way right after Xmas, so I thought I would see what the better location was is all. Although I am planning to be in Galveston in Jan...but that's only to catch a crusise ship and find some warmer weather :D.
Its rather cold here right now....like 33 degrees out..brrrr. It's rained a little bit, but not too much, mostly its been a soft rain the last day or so. I keep telling myself that Hawaii is looking better all the time!!
Tammy aren't 2nd graders funny when it comes to watching shows that have scarey parts in them? Or at least my child is, and so is her niece (4th grade) the scarier it is, the harder they laugh! Hope everything turns out fine with your lab work also.
Tina, them sandtarts do sound yummmy... and full of points! But isnt it true that if you eat yummmy food with diet soda, then the points dont count? Don't I wish it was true, I'd be the queen of diet pop!
Need to head bed for the night, before I eat more food! Hope everyone has a great Monday....Dee

Oh, Dawn, that is soooooo wonderful about your jeans and belt. Doesn't it give you more incentive to keep on!!!!
I am so proud of you.
I don't know about posting photos either, but, go to the top of the forum and go way down where to the Q & A part. I think it tells there.
Good day to everyone!

Believe it or not, I started a new thread since this one is 4 pages. It was taking forever to load.
