Does anyone have ideas for Car Food I will have a cooler jiffypop 05-15-2007, 02:34 PM well, with the cooler and 8 hours, how about packing what you would normally eat? protein, veggies, water, a wee bit of fruit. pre-op, i guess we all could have viewed such a LONG trip as a major snack-a-thon, but post-op, it simply can't be!!!! salad, cut up veggies, humus perhaps. not sure jello would last well. i'm a big believer in laughing cow lite wedges and individual servings of peanuts lots of liquid [but you knew that!] hmmmm. i'm sure others will come up with FAR more interesting ideas!!!! KO 05-15-2007, 03:25 PM So far I have String Cheese and laughing cow light I'm going to get grape tomatoes and either a bag of precut veggies or carrots I might make a veggie and bean salad and if DH wants it I'll get some low carb wraps and make sandwiches I'm going to bring Oatmeal to the hotel b/c I know the "continental Breakfast" is going to be a crapfest and bring some food to the convention area too I just have to find an insulated lunch bag for that KO 05-16-2007, 09:55 AM The Update I went to the store and got grape tomatoes, baby carrots, 2 pears la tortilla low carb wraps 80 calories 12 grams of fiber Salad both for tonight and to put in the wraps (I'm bringing all the fixins too so I can eat Smart all weekend) and I have some bars/snacks that are more Kier friendly and I told him if he wants to eat at La Greasy Spoon thats cool I just don't want too. =D I'm proud of me I actually put my needs before whats easy! jiffypop 05-17-2007, 07:54 PM geezzz louise! you're putting me to shame, here!!! i'm going to a scientific meeting this weekend in san diego, and i have a container of roasted soy beans, some laughing cow lite, and protein powder. i figure i can handle ANYTHING with that - oh, and lots of decent tea. vBulletin® v3.6.7, Copyright ©2000-2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
