Just wanting to start a new thread for the purple LAWL. I just couldn't seem to find one that I could jump into so.............

Does anyone know how many levels there are? I didn't even know there were any. Also, just wondering what successes everyone has had and what advice you can share with me. This is my 4th week on LAWL, but my first 1 1/2 didn't go well. But, I'm trying to really make it this time. I have tried SOOO many other diets before. And when I started LAWL it was the heaviest that I'd ever been. I am 5'3" and I weighed exactly 200lbs! I have lost 6.6 pds so far. But, I really want to lose some serious weight for un upcoming trip at the end of summer. So any encouragement from anyone or just a simple hi would be Awesome!

Thanks 3FC Community!

Hi

I also am on the purple plan, I did the plan a year ago, quit and now I am back, but I am doing it all alone, w/o the COD...I just can't handle the pressure and the BS, at the weigh ins. So I am doing it at home, being accountable to ME...I am not sure about all the levels, but you can get that answered, as lots of people on diferent LAWL plans. I did very well and lost weight, you have to stay POP though, little mess-ups, like a bite of this, a bite of that add up! I also live in Oregon, Portland...Good luck! :)

Hi there - I am on purple - I joined on 4/1/07 - I am doing it with the COD (Lysa, I admire you - I need the accountability of the COD, I think) - so far, I have lost just over 15 pounds (15.2 to be exact) - I have really found it very easy to do - Good luck to you!

WOW, I didn't think people would post so fast, this is such a great, supportive community. This just might be time I actually succeed. Thanks MLMAGIC and Becca for posting and just making me feel part of the community already.

Hi there, and welcome.

I am also on purple and am doing it without the center. Just like Lysa, I am being accountable to me. I don't need the wi centers to tell me whether I have screwed up or not - I will know. I am driven by my desire to lose the final lbs, and feel better about myself. I have lost 16 lbs, and 9 more to go and I already feel much better.

The first couple of weeks I found it difficult to know what I should be eating and when, but now, I find it very easy.

Best thing that I can suggest is keep track of what you are eating, and check things off as you eat them so you know where you are at. Plan out your menu's to make sure you are right on plan.

You will find lots of support on this board. This group can cheer you up when your down, provide you with motivation, and answer a lot of questions for you. There are some great success stories with this group.

Good Luck to you.

I too am on Purple w/lites. I struggled at first, I just couldn't seem to get in the groove. My work requires travel and I am tempted...way to tempted. I finally realized that my life is not going to change so my eating habits NEEDED to change. I took 2 months off the plan, went to Hawaii (business) and then came back and have dedicated myself to the plan. Since the end of March and after turning over a new leaf I have lost a total of 13.6 lbs. It's still a challenge but every week I seem to get more and more use to the plan and how to incorporate it into my lifestyle.
You can do it too!! My advice is to stick with the plan, if you fall off, get right back on. Drink LOTS of water and don't leave this board!! While it is a busy place there is a ton of support and lots and lots of GREAT advice, laughs and LAWL recipes.
Good luck...I am right there with you!

I'm on purple as well, with lites... I started on Red and got moved to purple later on.. I miss the extra starch and half a protein afforded me by the red, but I'm coping...

Thanks Becca...I am glad you have a good Center. I am sure there are many of them. Mine was over the top, oh they were real nice at first when I wanted to join, but as I turned them down for their bars, snacks, vitamins, etc. they became very cold and rude to me. I saw other's coming and going that were buying stuff and they were sweet as pie to them!! I had gotton alot of lites from a girlfriend who sold them to me, so I did not need them for a while, so I was not getting them from the center...anyway, I am trying to do this alone now and this forum has helped me...it is my place of accountibilty now. I sort of "weigh in" here everyday now. I wish you luck too! We can do it! I can't wait to get rid of this roll from having babies around my middle GONE! I am 40 now and I gotta do it!! ;)

Hi Karen...

Hi Lysa,

When I do take off, I don't use the juice, I do it with grapefruits, and/or canteloupe. As for the bars, I have been searching for bars that I like. I am in Canada, and the more popular subs are harder to find. I have found a few of the Luna bars which I have tried, and also the Pria ones, but they tend to not sit well with me. I always feel bloated afterwards, so I am kind of wondering if I am not able to do the soy. What I have been mostly doing is just using the slimfast bars. I know that they are not as high in protein, and they are also less calories than the lights, but they seem to work for me. I also use the Nature Valley granola bars. (the sugar content in both of these are less than the lites - which I think is a good thing) The alternative to the bars would be to move up a plan and go all food - but for now, will just continue as I am and see how it goes.

Other than that, drink lots and lots of water, and when I feel like I am retaining water, can usually tell by my rings feeling tight, then I do the hot lemon water.

I have found so much information on this board, and if I have a question, I post a thread, and there are lots of wise veterans that can give me great advise.

I feel more motivated from reading the success stories on this forum than I have ever felt before.

I wish you lots of luck and I am sure - you can do this.

Karen

I am on purple w/ lites. I joined March 28th and have lost 13 lbs so far and 11 inches! I actually think the center helps me, it forces me to stay to my plan. Though it was expensive, I agree. I havent purchased their supplements or anything other than lites yet, though I plan to at some point. I want to try the meal replacement shakes. Good Luck everyone!

Your're always welcome anywhere. In all honesty I just needed a name for the new thread and I didn't know what to call it! Thanks for the warm welcome!!!
I'm wondering how long have you been on the plan and your weight loss so far has been truly inspirational for me! I can't wait to be able to say I've lost that much weight!!!! Yay! Thanks for posting and please post more!

Thanks! Basically, I drink all the water, and I usually have 2 Diet Pepsi's a day. I stick to chicken and fish as proteins, sometimes beef. I work 8-4 so I usually take a Lean Cuisin or a Lean Pocket for Lunch, which is fast and simple. I munch on apples & baby carrots for snack. I also LOVE sugar free jello. It counts as NOTHING, so basically a free treat. I keep them here at work and at home. Usually I eat an LA Lite bar for breakfast, with maybe a string cheese or a yogurt. anyhow, I hope this helps, again thank you!

I'm on purple with lites as well. I'm into my second week and doing okay; some days are easier than others. Some days are really great and easy to get all of the food in and then other days I'm struggling. This board has been a great source for me when I'm in need of motivation. I haven't tried any of the recipes yet, but there are a ton! Good luck to you and to everyone else here trying hard to lose weight.

FITNOTFATT - I've been on the program since September 2006. I did really good the first few months, then I basically wasted my time on the same 2-3 pounds! But I got myself back in the game, and with the right frame of mind. I plan to reach my goal with NO EXCUSES!! Which is hard.... My downfall is also starches. I wouldn't mind eating starches all day long.... Sorry it took me a day to see your post... you know how it is, work gets in the way of life....

Nancy,
I just realized how close you are to reaching your goal! I weigh close to what you did at the begining of your journey. I went to my WI today and I had lost 4.8 pounds! I felt soooo good, like nothing can stop me now! I really want to lose the weight bad this time. I miss out on so many activities because of it. My husband is an avid snowboarder, and of course, has bought me all my gear for it, but I quickly will get out of breath, and then sooo tired that last snow year I went 1x with him. He is always encouraging me, and I know I would make him so happy if I could be more active with him. So thanks for me inspirational to me!

FIT- That is just awesome!! 4.8?? :woohoo: Amazing! Before long you'll get the hang of it and the pounds will just drop! And you will "shrink" into your user name - fit not fat... :) Good Job!! And snowboarding sounds exhausting!! But fun at the same time!! By next winter, you WILL be ready!

I've also joined in late March and I've lost 17 pounds. I haven't been exercising because of physical problems. I've been really careful about not falling off the wagon, and I think that's what I attribute my success to. I have a really difficult job and don't get to eat regularly sometimes, but I've tried to adapt to that.

Hi-

I just signed up on May 5th. I am on purple w/o lites. I have lost a little, but already I am learning how a little slip shows big at WI. The first week I was so good...I kept hearing people in the waiting rooms talk about how they had cheated that week...so I thought maybe I was being too strict with my self (my DH calls me the diet natzi :) ...I learned today at WI that cheating is not an option for me...I regained all that I had lost!! This website is so much help!!! Some days (like today) the counselors don't really inspire me...just make me feel guilty...tomorrow is a new day...back to being the diet natzi:dizzy:

Nicole - You are right. I was up and down around the 25th mark for a few month... I think between Feb to March. Then I realized that I was wasting my time... the months were flying way too quickly. We're planning a vacation to the beach this July, and I still have 16 lbs to go!! I am so running out of time!!

I have been on LAWL for 9 weeks now, and feel as if I have finally come home! I am on purple w/lites and it has been up and down for me, but I have made my 2 lbs per week!
Tips:
- Carry the water with you EVERYWHERE! My co-works tease me because I carry a 4 l bottle into meetings! At least I know I get it all in!
- "Pita Break" - helped me with my starch. Half a pits is one starch..sooooo tasty. My fav is the flax. Great for sandwiches, toasted with peanut butter, etc. Much prefer it to the cardboard taste of the weight watchers bread!

Why am I on here? I need support because after 9 weeks I feel like my creativity is beginning to thin out! My challenge is that the food needs to be different or I get bored with it...

I was moved from red to purple 3 weeks ago and hated it at first. I was consistently losing (and full) on red, and then I switched and I was hungry and gaining weight. I'm finally back into a losing groove since I've gotten more used to working with these exchanges. I found that what works best for me is about 1/3 of a protein for breakfast, 2/3 for lunch and a full protein for dinner.

Count me in with the purple clan. (with lites)

I joined May 28 and have lost almost 15 pounds. I'm going to the COD later and hopefully will be at that 15. lol

I have no troubles following the plan during the week when I'm working and everything is routine. The weekends, though I still follow it, my meals are all over the place. I do get all the food in but not in the way I do during the week.

I'm on purple w/lites. Started on red w/lites and like Dan really miss that extra starch and 1/2 protein but I'm learning when my body craves the starches and am saving them until then. I started LAWL in February and have lost 46 so far. Need to add some more regimented exercise though....Any suggestions? Walking on the treadmill doesn't appeal at all:)

Hi there! I'm a purple with Lites. We have the same starting stats - 5'3 and around 200 lbs (wow, that's such a horrible number to look at sometimes, but it's going down!). I've been with LAWL for just a week now, and have lost a little over 5 lbs the 1st week. I'm struggling with finding variety and eating more protein - such a starch addict, especially in the morning. This place has been great with advice and wonderful people. I look forward to communicating with you and everyone on progress in the coming months! It will be a long journey, but definitely well worth it!!! :)

Hi,

i just started LAWL on Sunday and I am on the purple plan with lites. My problem is that I don't like chocolate. I know this is weird, but true just the same. I don't know how long the Honey Nougat lites are going to last until they get old. How are the drink mixes and shakes?

HI. I started with LAWL Feb 12, 2007, purple plan w/Lites. After the 2-day starting TO my WI amount was 221. Yesterday my WI amount was 187, but the body has been playing around with 5 pounds....NOT a nice thing to do!!!!!

Judy - starch is my weakness too!!!! Kinda scares me about the new plan - increasing the starch -- will that start me down the slippery slope to horsing around with more than just the 5 pounds I've been losing and relosing???? gulp!!

I have a few of the portion guides all over the place to help me keep focused!!!! One in the kitchen, one here at my computer (downstairs), one in my Free to Live binder, one in my purse, and one in my car!!! THAT helps keep me focused!!!! And helps in the store so I don't have to trust my brain!!!!

just me,
laura

Hi All!

I started on March 13th. Originally I was on the red plan but now I am purple and I do the lites too. I have lost 42lbs since I started. A lot of the time it isn't easy for me...I just need to stay focused on my goal. The lites really help my sweet tooth though!

Angela - I'm actually a big fan of the vanilla shakes. I make them w/4oz water, 4 ice cubes, a pack of Splenda and then a serving of any fruit. Pineapple is my favorite, but I've also used blueberries, strawberries, bananas, and raspberries. I make them in my Magic Bullet and can even bring it to work. And if your COD has the soups, they are good to use in recipes.

Hi! I am also on Purple plan w/o lites I joined LA in Oct and as of right now, I have a total of 62 lbs off, With 15 more to go to hit my goal of 150.
I also love the Vanilla Shakes, they are the best i tried the chocolate ones and found them to be too bitter for my taste.
For supplements the only one I get from LA is the essential fatty acids, and I do take a Multi and a calcium but they are bought at a health food store and are much cheaper then LA ones.
