Default Ellipticals that point downward?

Has anybody ever used an elliptical where the foot points downward a bit? I tried one, and it put too much pressure on my knee. The pedals do not adjust. What a bummer, because I have the chance to borrow it long term. I was wondering if anybody has ever used one like this? I'm wondering if there is something I can do to modify it. I considered slicing a yoga brick like a wedge of cheese and putting it on the pedals, if I could be sure it would stay attached. Don't want broken ankles any time soon!

you could also take a pair of the weighted soft 1 lb. wrist wts. (like bracelets) and place them on the part of the pedal where your toes hit.

because they are wts. they shouldn't move around much.
