I have started walking lately and am really forcussed now on meeting my Miles Goal (as you can see by my signature) and I really think that is what keeps me going. Anyway, my first question is, what is more important? Distance, speed or time walked? Also, I want to start toning as well. I have a Power 90 DVD that I have done in the past and enjoyed it. (it's quick!) I hate to excersize anymore than I have to but I really like the benefits! My concern with starting the DVD is that I will lose focus of the walking and then just stop all together. Or I will freak out because I am not meeting my miles goal. I get up at 6am and walk for 40-60 min totalling 2-3 miles (I try to do this 5 days a week). If I walk for 40-60 min. Mon. Wed. and Fri. and then on Tue. Thurs and Sat. walk for 25-30 and then do the DVD (it's 30 min), or just do the DVD on the odd days (I don't know if I could stand to do both in the beginning), does that sound like a good plan.

I have been trying so hard for about 5 years to lose this weight and really don't want to mess it up this time. I guess I just need someone to tell me if I am doing it right.

Thanks!

The best plan is one you'll stick with. So if you start to lose focus, then change your routine. March in place while watching a movie, or take the kids/dog for a walk or just go for a walk to window shop or see the scenery. If mornings seem like drudgery, do evenings. If you can't get it then, try lunch time. Anything you do is better than doing nothing. So the first plan should simply be to get it done, regardless of in which order its done.
