Well I think I may be back to normal now (but I don't hold out much hope). The online Nokia game finished on Friday and it was a.....well I will give you the proposed scenario and the actual senario
600,000 in 28 countries playing a realtime online game. The game has 3 phases - phase 1 lasts 15 minutes, you are automatically transmitted to phase 2 which you must complete in 60 minutes and then straight to phase 3, where you answer 20 multiple questions covering the 3 week adventure. The game starts at 7pm and finished at 8.30pm. Nokia "warning" you must stay logged on for the whole game.
600,000 in 28 countries log on. At the end of phase 1, the majority of players are greeted with a blue screen. Guess what the Nokia servers crashed. Being obedient no one logs off and tries refreshing the screen - eventually some of the braver ones log off and realize that they have 10 minutes to complete phase 2. Nokia then send a text message to peoples phones telling them they should log out and back in again. End result - BIG FARCE. Let's just say Nokia have received some emails from us.
Anyway now I have wasted three weeks of my life for a cr@p final - it has taught me a valuable lesson - nothing in life is free and I should have just gone to the shop and bought the phone in the first place. :D
Hope all those who celebrated Thanksgiving had a wonderful time. Just think as of today, 1 month until Christmas - whoopeee!
I have made no preparations, bought no presents, nothing - guess Christmas eve might be a good place to start getting things in order.
Happyface nice to see you back - hope the bra is keeping everything in place - let me know how it goes
Pryia one day OP is great - keep it up. Okay I may be way behind, but when did you become a moderator
RR hope yo and Andrew are doing well - guess you've decided your having a boy then
LBH hope you feel better soon - is your Dr assuming you are in the RR club???????
Rabbit check out the Enell website for the sports bras - bit pricey but excellent for the more voluptuous curvaceous ladies. You may need it "Fudge"
Slutbunny expect to see regular weekly contributions - please :D
elissa hope your doing okay - I too have lost a bit of self control, but need to get it back and real quick too
I have not yet bought my scales, just doing price comparisons - I have seen the Ult 2000 for £44, so I think that's the one I am gonna get. I need a reality check and I think by getting on the scales will provide me with the wake up I really need. Wish me luck for tomorrow - gonna buy it then. So if you don't here from me again, the reality check and stepping on the scales "killed" me.
Hi to everyone else, take care :D
11-25-2001, 11:34 AM
Good morning all-
1/2 way through OP day 2. And nothing is stopping me. I really like counting at night. It is so much easier for me. I just have to get through 5pm and I am on to day 3. So this way I can plan a snack at night if I want.
BFB: Girl you are quick. I became a moderator yesterday. Reason being someone posted on our thread an was really nasty so I reported it and asked if I could moderate. Because we don't need that.
11-25-2001, 11:36 AM
BFB--I have to agree with the fact that nothing is free..There is always some catch to everything!!!!
WEll,off to get dressed to be somewhat productive today!!!
11-25-2001, 11:37 AM
I made it through yesterday being 2 points over - better than it has been, so I will take it. Glad to be counting points again. I am now at 829.531 miles. Last years' total was 879.83, so I'm hanging right in there. We made homemade egg rolls yesterday, so I made myself a big salad so I wouldn't have as many egg rolls.:)
BFB - glad your online game is over and you can reclaim your life.:D ~ Thanks for bra info - you are too funny!
Pryia - so what do you do as a moderator? ~ And congrats on this 2nd day op!
Have a good day all. All the kids leave today so it will be a busy day here.

Most of you have read the scare-mail about the person whose kidneys
were stolen while he was passed out. While that was an "urban legend," this one is NOT. It's happening every day. I'm sending this "warning. You too may have been a victim ... read on.
My thighs were stolen from me during the night of August 3rd a few years ago. It was just that quick. I went to sleep in my body and woke up with someone else's thighs. The new ones had the texture of cooked oatmeal. Who would have done such a cruel thing to legs that had been wholly, if imperfectly, mine for years? Whose thighs were these? What happened to mine?
I spent the entire summer looking for them. I searched, in vain, at pools and beaches, anywhere I might find female limbs exposed. I became obsessed. I had nightmares filled with cellulite and flesh that turns to bumps in the night. Finally, hurt and angry, I resigned myself to living out my life in jeans and Sheer Energy pantyhose.
Then, just when my guard was down, the thieves struck again. My rear end was next. I knew it was the same gang, because they took pains to match my new rear end (although badly attached at least three inches lower than the original) to the thighs they had stuck me with earlier. Now my rear complemented my legs, lump for lump. Frantic, I prayed that long skirts would stay in fashion.
Two years ago I realized my arms had been switched. One morning while fixing my hair, I watched, horrified but fascinated, as the flesh of my upper arms swung to and fro with the motion of the hairbrush. This was really getting scary. My body was being replaced, cleverly and fiendishly, one section at a time. In the end, in deepening despair, I gave up my T-shirts.
What could they do to me next? Age? Age had nothing to do with it. Age was supposed to creep up, unnoticed and intangible, something like maturity. NO, I was being attacked, repeatedly and without warning. That's why I've decided to share my story. I can't take on the medical profession by myself. Women of the World, wake up and smell the coffee!
That isn't really "plastic" those surgeons are using. You know where they're getting those replacement parts, don't you? The next time you suspect someone has had a face "lifted," look again! Was it lifted from you? Check out those tummy tucks and buttocks raisings. Look familiar? Are those your eyelids on that movie star? I think I finally may have found my thighs...and I hope that Cindy Crawford paid a really good price for them!
This is NOT a hoax! This is happening to women in every town everynight........ Warn your friends!!!!!!!!!!!
Now I just knew Halle Berry had my body! Whose got yours?
I posted this under Chick Chat a little while ago, and kept on meaning to post it here. Not sure how far you all browse :D
11-25-2001, 01:12 PM
I am feeling a little bit more coherent today. My throat still hurts a lot...called mom while DH was at church this AM to whine. I just wanna feel better. Starting to cough, which may be a good thing, it's helping a little to bring things up. (Sorry, I'm a nurse's kid, nothing shocks me!) I don't really wanna go to work tomorrow, but I have a lot to do, and more importantly my sweaters from Old Navy will be delivered.
BFB- I have seen that one before, it's hysterical! Sorry to hear about the Nokia mess, but I have to ask...you're willing to spend $200 or so on a cell phone, but not $90. on a scale?! that is too funny!! Yes, my doctor is assuming I'm in the RR club,...wish I was, because of the FEEP Monday night, and I may have been O-ing, but I don't think so. :dizzy:
Rabbit- Wow, soo many miles!! I wish I could say I did half that, but I'm sure it's much less!
Pryia- Glad you became a moderator. I saw that post and it was horrible!! Does that mean that if you see a nasty post anywhere within "30-Somethings", you can delete it? CONGRATS on Day 1 OP!!
Well, off to read the classifieds and wait for DH to wake up from nap. Want to do a drive by of a fixer-upper that's for rent in a town we love. Does anyone know how rent-to-buy deals work? I would love to find one, like this one for instance. I would rather rent-to-buy a fixer-upper, than rent to rent!
Have a great day!
11-25-2001, 01:54 PM
OK - in my defence over the scale vs phone..........
First look at cost per use
Scale £90/52 (weigh in once a week) = £1.73
Phone £250/365 (use once per day) = £0.68
see, there must be some logic in there somewhere :D :D
Now I can come home and tell my hubby that I bought a phone for £250, but I could not come home and tell him I bought a scale for £90. I'm sure some of you know what I mean, that's might defence and I am sticking to it
OMG - three posts on the same thread in one day - can you tell I am back :s:
11-25-2001, 02:14 PM
Okay I am back! My neighbor came over and we ran to spend the rest of the giftcard. I really needed a new radio/cd player. So I got a nice one on sale. And now I can listen to all my cd's again. When the butthead moved out last year. I let him take my cd player, since I did not have anything to hook up to it. And all the stereo equipment was his.
About the moderator. Basically if someone posts something here that is mean or out of line, I can delete it. I am hoping that we don't get to much of that. We have NEVER had a problem before. And what was said was mean and so out of line. So basically I just want us to stay our happy group we always have been. I know some of us have been around long enough to remember where on other parts of this board there were fights all the time.
Like I told Suzanne--- I love you guys. You are all my friends and I don't want to see peoples feelings get hurt because someone who does not know us comes and posts mean things. And I will be honest there have been people here who have posted things I have not agreeed with or that hurt my feelings. And I see no reason to get nasty. I just let them go.
Anyways.... LBH I hope you are feeling better. I am doing laundry today and just cleaning up around here. I should think about XMAS decoratiing but I am not so sure I want to open up that can of worms today.
BFB-I have a motorala phone and I love it. Much better than the Nokia I had.
Okay here is my vent for the day. I want the Tania scale. And I did not get one. I should have just bought it for myself. But you know I would rather have mom buy it for a gift. But instead she bought the spoiled boy something he does not need. But WANTS!! Okay so that is what grandparents are for! :s:
Just wait RR---You will find out soon!!
Everyone have a great day!!!
11-25-2001, 07:12 PM
Okay I made it through 2 days being OP. I had a hard time the last hour. Wanted to boredom eat. I am stressing cause I know tonight the butthead will call. I am okay though and have myself on track and ready.
Having the rest of the Turkey for tonights dinner. And then we are done for awhile. I am sick of Turkey but don't want to waste it or WAIST it!! So I am making dinner and then we will not have any for awhile. I joined a journal group where we post our daily journals. That seems to help.
I hope you have a wonderful Monday! I will be back to post again tomorrow. It does help cause I really don't want to tell you I did not stay OP.
Did anyone notice we had 2 pages last week. Come everyone keep posting---it helps!!

11-25-2001, 09:42 PM
HuH? What happened? I posted and then it disappeared, so if you get two from me that is what happened. I was actually in the middle of typing in this reply box when I went back down to read some more... ooooh a mystery!
Well there's NO mystery in my weigh in. I gained 3 pounds this week! So did dh so I guess we have each other to support. But now kickboxing is back (they were closed for a week) and I am going to keep drinking the water, which I have been good about for 2 days and I am going to fight hard! (my clothes are on the verge of not being wearable because they are getting too tight)
Pryia, I noticed the moderator thing too but figured I just never noticed it earlier and it was in place for a long time. :) Good for you I am glad you are doing that. I never saw the mean post. I am surprised we had that on our thread. Did it happen before I came back? (email me! I take that personally, as I have been here for a few years and have always felt this was a supportive, wonderful group. I am offended that it was tainted by someone) Congratulations on being OP!! You are doing great! :)
LBH, I am glad you are feeling better!
BFB, Welcome back! Good to see you! Sorry to hear what a mess that was!
Rabbit, you are doing great! good for you getting back on track. 2 points over is nothing. :) And very impressive exercise miles (also impressive that you know last year's miles!)
Can't stay tonight. Check in with you all tomorrow!
Have a great Monday!
11-26-2001, 02:51 PM
OP yesterday -- woohoo! And I started a new exercise routine this week to shake things up - I was tired of doing the same thing. Gets boring you know? Whatever works!:)
All the kids are gone.:( Seems a little quiet here!
BFB - cute!! ~
Lauren - glad you're feeling atleast a little better! Something's really been going around. Dh has been sick for a week.
Pryia - so we had a mean post on our thread?? Now I'm curious.
Happy - Sorry about your gain. Interesting that dh gained the same amount. I face the scale on Thursday night.:o
have a great week all.
11-26-2001, 04:02 PM
I'm freshly back home from the holiday. My family spent the holiday in Florida with my other family. :) Lots of shopping, good (for you) food, and I even snuck out a time or two to exercise. Yippee for me. ;)
Glad I missed the ugly post -- I figure there are already way too many ugly things in the universe so I don't need to see any more, eh? I'll admit to curiosity though. :D
Tonight its burgers and baked fries for dinner (10 pts). Its one of my family's favourite recipes (the burger has onions, dijon mustard and cumin mixed in) and helps me when I'm jonesin' for some red meat. Bwaha!
Off to nap now. :)
11-26-2001, 04:29 PM
Okay, I know I shouldn't be but now I'm curious about the mean post too! I don't let that kind of stuff bother me though.
Had a pretty good weekend, even had a slice of pizza to get over the craving. It's so much better to go and get one slice than the whole pizza because that was enough (big slice) but if I had more, I would have certainly eaten more.
I seem to have lost the pound I gained last week when I was bad and I had felt myself slipping. Catching yourself after only 1 lb. is pretty good, especially for me. I just have to make sure I don't relax too much because I really want to make my modes XMAS goal. My "official" weigh in is tomorrow morning so I'll post on that thread tomorrow.
Yesterday I made the yummiest soup which should manage to be dinner for my dh and myself for the next couple of days. I'm just so bad figuring out the points though. I tried to add up all the ingredients separately but it's tough. Any suggestions? It was lots of zero point stuff like, carrots, onions, celery, parsnips etc. but there was some barley that I counted to be 8 points worth and a whole chicken. I tried to count the chicken parts like 3 for each breast etc. and I came up that the whole soup might be 20 to 25?? it's so hard with stuff like that and I know it's healthy but I'd love to know the points. I'll probably get at least 10 bowls from it so I'll count each bowl as 3 points to be safe.
SB - nice to hear back from you, sounds like you had a great long weekend.
Rabbit - I'll no longer call you Fudge since I think you're over that. Sometimes nothing can stop a binge like getting on the scale (although sometimes for me that doesn't even work). Glad you're back OP and sorry that the house is so quite now but as long as you had a good week together.....
Pryia - it's so nice to see you back regularily - I'm going to try to post more often too, it really helps. Now go out and get that scale if you want it - who said is was like $38 at Target or Walmart? For me, a good scale was the greatest purchase.
Hi to everyone I've missed, got to get back to work,
11-26-2001, 10:37 PM
Bad girl here!! I was off program!! Why cause I skipped lunch and then ate and ate and ate..... I know better. But I was so busy at work I could not help it. But I will help it from now on.
That was me about the Tania for 38.00 but since I am broke. My rent went up 300.00 yes that is correct. And I have to budget better. No money for a Scale right now. That is why I wanted mom to buy it.
S. Bunny-- glad to have you with us. Sorry I just can't write out your name. But it is cute. I hope you feel right at home here with us. We are a great bunch!!
About the bad post. Can we drop it please? I have a feeling the author is probably lurking here. And I don't want them to think we even care. It is not worth it.
Okay all have a good one!!
11-27-2001, 12:31 PM
Home again today. :( Now I have sludge coming out of my eyes... don't know if it's pink eye, or just that they were itchy and I irritated them too much by scratching and rubbing, but they started getting gloopy and of course I had to walk almost blindly to the bathroom this AM to de-crust them! Sorry, graphical...
My throat is feeling much better today, but in place of that, the bad sinus headache is back, and the cough has started. So I've got the E-Mycin 3 times a day, the Robitussin CF every 4 hours and the extra strength Tylenol every 4 hours. And occasional squirt of saline nose spray, vicks and riccola throat drops. UGH...really wish someone would put me out of my misery...
Pryia- Your rent went up $300?!?! Per month, or per year?! Man, I hope it's per year!!
That bad post was just someone who has no life and has nothing better to do with themselves than to pick on other people to make themselves feel better. It was about someone specific, and it was actually really stupid, because it was directed at a comment that I actually thought was kind of cute. I'm sure that person's priviliges have been taken away, and they won't be back. We and 3FC have no patience for childishness like that.
SB- Welcome back! Sounds like you had a great holiday!
Rabbit- Good for you on the new routine. I was really looking forward to going to the gym this week, but I can't even phathom it.
Dani- Sorry to hear about the gain...that's motivation for both of you to get back on track!!
Have a great day all!
11-27-2001, 12:36 PM
Pryia, that is a very mature and professional response to our inquiries. You are right in saying that (and that is part of what makes you a good moderator), thanks. :)
Your rent went up 300 dollars a MONTH?!!! Did you see that coming? Was there any warning? Yikes! As my ww leader (former) said once (more than once) "slip happens" so you can catch yourself before the slip turns into a fall. At least you know what caused the problem.
Elisa, the soup sounds great. It sounds like you are giving yourself fair point value for it too. Good for you catching yourself after 1 pound. I waited about 20 pounds...
SB, sounds like you had a nice holiday. I am impressed that you exercised! My cardio kick class was closed for 10 days. I did nothing on my own.
Rabbit, I am not normally a peeker but I have gotten on the scale like 4 times since I weighed in and it shows pretty much consistently that I am only up 1, so maybe I weighed in at a bad time on Sunday. But this is ok, I am still counting it as 3 pounds and it will be all the better when I weigh in next time. Congratulations for being OP. :) Great plan to shake up your exercise routine. I was once on this program at the gym and the trainer changed my routine about every 4 weeks or so and it was great because my body adapted to the one I was doing and the change really challenged my body and the progress was quicker. After awhile I had 3 or 4 routines to choose from so as long as I kept alternating them or moving through them after a few weeks it still had a positive effect. (now how did I go from that to where I am today? ug)
Have a great day everyone,
11-27-2001, 12:40 PM
Lauren, we must get on here at the same time from work! That is so funny that again I was typing and as I submitted my reply there was a new one from you. I am so sorry to hear how badly you are feeling. Yuk. I hope you can knock this out of your system soon.
11-27-2001, 01:50 PM
Went over 2.5 points yesterday.:( Silly me. Must do better today!
SB - well, that sounds like a great holiday! And good for you food - how terrific! ~ Have you ever tried Ore Ida fast food fries? They are REALLY good and when baked are so low in points. Even my teenagers love them.
Elisa - catching yourself so soon is great! You're on a roll! ~ It's hard to figure points, but that's how I do it. I just add it all up and divide by the # of servings. Sounds like you did a good job. ~ Yes, we did have a good time together. And there are good parts to the quiet. ~ Glad I'm "un-earning" the new nickname!
Pryia - Oh My! $300! Hope that is yearly like LBH said.
Lauren - Yuck! Hope you get over this soon! No, no gym for you. You just need to focus on getting well.
have a great day all.
11-27-2001, 08:50 PM
Elisa822 -- I find it hard to figure recipes too. :( I use the online Weight Watchers thingy and that helps. I expect that if you just added up the points in the soup all together and then figured how much of the all-together you ate, you'll be fine. Sounds like that's just what you did, I guess, eh? :)
Pyria -- most folks call my bunny. ;) Or Jenanne 'cause that's my "real" name. Nice to be here -- I love the online support systems -- and figured I'd add to my online circle o' weightloss buddies in y'alls lovely threads!
LBH -- I wanna take some vitamin C just reading your post! Yikes! Pink eye is the worst -- I can still remember my mother trying to hold me down as a wee 10 year old in order to put the drops in my eyes. Its the closest she ever came to whalloping me!
happyface -- What's a cardio kick class??!! :?:
Rabbit -- I haven't seen the Ore Ida fast food fries -- I'll have to show 'em to my teen and see what she thinks. :D She's our final arbitor on convenience foods. If I think about it too long I end up just deciding I can make better from scratch and we never buy it. LOL!
More tomorrow. *g*
11-27-2001, 10:54 PM
Just a quick one today. I am so tired and I want to put away my laundry from Sunday. I know I am slacking here.
Yes that is a month!! Because I live in subzized housing your rent goes according to your income. Well since finsihing school my income went up alot. So did the rent. I am planning on moving in the spring. But for now I will be okay. But it is a big crunch.
LBH I sure hope you feel better soon!! I know I hate feeling sick and hate when those I love are sick too.
Everyone else take care and know I am thinking about you.
ROADRUNNER!!!! WHERE ARE YOU??? How is that baby doing??
11-28-2001, 09:03 AM
I am back from the land of morning sickness!!!YEah!!!

Lauren--WElcome back to the world of the living!!!!Glad U R better!!!Hoping U join my club!!!!!
Pryia--Congrats on the new position!!!!Yeah on the OP thing!!!!
I dont even own a scale here!!!I weigh at the health club and think I have gained 10lbs in breasts!!!(not really!!!)I am at 9weeks pg today and have gained 1.5lbs sooo I am right on target!!!!!
SB--Sounds like a lovely holiday for U!!!!
Rabbit--Congrats on kicking the fudge habit!!!!!I am glad I am totally chocolate turned off!!!I made brownies for Refman and had the dry heaves from the smell!!!I am glad Mom REfman is comming, that will be her job!!!Hmmm...speaking of the mom in law,I have never lived here when she visited..SHe would stay a month, but I would stay at my house and visit here...Think the renters will let me sleep over?????? We shall see how that turns out in December!!!!!!
Well, must run!!!
Have a good day all!!!
11-28-2001, 02:16 PM
Yup, home again today. I can't remember the last time I was out of work 3 days!! I am feeling better today. Yesterday was OK, but my head was aching and my throat hurt bad. Today the throat's just a little scratchy and the head is a dull ache. I am going to the doctor's in a bit. She said she won't prescribe me anything for pink eye over the phone, she has to see it. She's also gonna do a blood test to make sure I'm not pregnant, then she'll give me better drugs...hopefully Z-Pak. :D My eyes are OK today, but were a little crusty this AM. I will be soo happy to get the Z-Pak, just wish I didn't have to go through the blood work! :( Man, what am I gonna do when I am PG?!
RR- Glad you're feeling better!! Good luck at the doc's tomorrow and I hope they do a sonogram for you!! Boy, what're you gonna do if it's a girl?! The child is gonna have a complex from being called Andrew and being talked about like a boy!!  I want to join your club...even if it means all that blood work!! (Notice I don't mention the labor pain, I'm more scared of needles!!)
Pryia- Oh, yuk, too bad they had to find out about your job!!
Bunny- DH told me he's gonna bring home saline drops tonight for me. I told him good luck getting them in, because I can't do it!! Man, I'm such a baby considering I'm a nurse's kid!!
Have a great day all!!
11-28-2001, 04:06 PM
I made cookies for my niece's party today and I ate two. Not too bad, I think. The rest are now in the freezer until Sunday (no sense in tempting myself!). My new workout is a killer on my muscles! Boy can I feel them. Today it is my legs - I worked them yesterday. Wow! I know I'm doing some good.:)
SB - we think they taste just like fast food fries!:D And you get a lot for such low points.
Pryia - oh no on the rent!!:(
RR - yeah for being right on target with your gain.:) Good luck at your appointment. ~ I must say, you are brave, brave, brave about the mom-in-law's visit.
Lauren - my sister (she was 11 at the time) called ds "Sally Sue" the whole time he was in-utero (sp?)! Everyone really thought I'd have a girl. Luckily he has no complex! ( I even have letters she wrote him addressed to Sally Sue in his baby book).
have a great day.
PS - I have a hard time believing it is Nov 28th!!
11-28-2001, 05:51 PM
I can't believe it's been a week since I've been online. Hopefully I'll get back on track soon, for some reason I just can't seem to get motivated. I skipped WW last night for the 3rd week in a row, it's the most I've missed since I joined last Sept. I just don't feel like I've been moving anywhere although I didn't gain over the summer which considering all that went on is a miracle.
LBH - Glad your feeling better, I had a nasty cold the week before T-day. It really sucks to wake up with your eyes glued shut.
RR - You make being PG sound like such fun . Hope everything else is going well with you.
Elise - The soup did sound great, I'm sure what you figured out works. I hate figuring out recipies too. Congrats on only one slice of pizza, wish I could say the same.
Rabbit - Enjoy the quiet, the kids'll be back for Christmas before you know it.
Pyria - actually last week was three pages, I'll try to come back more often, God knows I need the encouragement :).
BFB - I liked the story hadn't seen it before. Glad you're back.
Bunny - Welcome!
Well gotta go, I fell down the stairs yesterday and messed up my finger and the typing is killing me. And I still have to send out a christmas list to my mom.
Talk to you all later.
- Tech :spin:
11-28-2001, 09:24 PM
No time at all -- BUT -- I had to come by and tell folks who have a Belk store near them ... GO NOW! I went by my local stores today and found a rack in each department which was 75% off and then an additional 75% off of that price!!
If you are even slightly the bargain lovin' shop-a-holic that I am, you'll be glad you went!!
11-28-2001, 11:08 PM
Well, went to doctor's today. My appointment was for 2:00, I signed in at 2:00, and sat there until 4:00, went into the exam room and sat another 15 minutes!! I was pretty PO'd!! Anyway, she asked me what I ate and decided to do the bloodwork, since I hadn't had that much to eat. She is doing a PG test too, which I'll know the results of tomorrow evening. It will be negative, I'm sure. She is not going to change my antibiotic, since I am getting better. She gave me Nasonex nose spray, because she thinks that the reason the recurring sore throat is happening is because of the post nasal drip. And she said my eyes look fine, just keep my hands away from them, wash often, and it should be OK. So basically I went there for no reason!!
Bunny- Oh, I wish I had a Belk's here!! I know they're down south. I'm a sucker for a bargain!! Actually, I bought a nice pair of fully lined wool pants at a consignment shop recently for $28.00!!
Tech- Sorry to hear about your finger, but it's good to see you! How's married life?!, sorry, I got soo sick of people asking me that!!
Oh well, it's back to work tomorrow for me! Bummer...have a good night!

HI!!! Did anyone miss me?????
We're back from Cincinnati - the show was good. We ate out alot and I did gain 1.5 lbs :( . I'm not too worried about it because the next couple of weekends we'll be home. The show this weekend is in Springfield so we drive home every night.
We have a little snow and ice on the ground - but not bad. The boys were excited this morning!
I should really buy a good scale - I do get on it every morning...it helps keep me focused. My scale is old and I'm sure its off a little.
I'm going to go check out the christmas goal thread. - jul

Welcome back Jul!!!!!It is much easier to diet at home then on the road!!!!
Lauren--Hope U felt well enough for work today!!!!
DH and I were talking last night and he asked me why I still followed this board since I wasnt dieting anymore...It was nice to tell him that this board was more friendship and after the years together was like we all knew each other..:D
It is nice!!!!!!WEll off to work and then to my first MD visit!!!!!!

Nice to see everybody posting again. It helps keep me motivated. Since I too get on the scale every day I'd have to say I'm a bit disappointed that my weight has not moved at all (it does usually fluctuate a bit during the week) and I think I've been really good. I've stayed at about 22-23 points each day (and I can go up to 25) I've started to cut down 1 or 2 in anticipation of being below 150 lbs when I have to cut back. Maybe I should go back to 25. We'll see, I shouldn't get worried when it's only been a few days.
This weekend will be tough - my husband and I are driving to New York tomorrow afternoon for the Canada Loves New York Rally. It's going to be a bit crazy (and difficult to eat well) but we think it will be fun.
RR - I agree about this board being more than diet tips (although those are good too). The people are all so nice!!!
Jul - sorry about the gain - I find it SO HARD to eat well when I'm not at home and I think for me it's mostly because I seem to let myself eat whatever and not make the best choices. I'm sure I could do better and this weekend will be a great test.
Lauren - glad you're feeling better and there's nothing that pisses me off more than sitting in the doctor's office for 2 hours when you know you only need 10 minutes of their time! But what can you do?
SB - I don't even know what Belk is so I guess they don't have any here. Too bad because I love a bargain.
Tech - glad to see you back. Try to visit more often. This board can be really helpful at this time of year when there are temptations everywhere. I find at this time if I'm not careful, I'll not just maintain but probably gain!
Gotta go - Hi to everyone else,
11-29-2001, 11:14 AM
I'm at work today, and not happy about it. :( I still feel yucky, but I guess I can't be out of work forever, ya' know?! I came in to 60 something emails and a ton of crap on my desk! It will be a hectic day that I'm not up for. At least I was not "crusty" this AM, just tired. Having some oatmeal right now, but it doesn't taste good.
Will try to get back later...have a great day all!!

Hi all
Sorry I haven't had much time to check in lately. Life has been busy! I definitely need to try to get here more often with the holidays approaching!!
I'm not even going to try to catch up with all the posts I missed!
I managed to drop another 1# before Thanksgiving, but still fell short of my Thanksgiving goal. The good news is I didn't gain over Thanksgiving, but I still have about 9# to get back down to my goal weight. At this point I'm going to try to lose a couple between now & the holidays, but I'm really going to be happy if I just don't gain.
Lauren - Hope you're feeling better soon!
Vicki - Hope the DR. appt. goes well!
Slutbunny - you wouldn't happen to live in NC would you? The Belk's comment prompted me to look at your location..."foothills of the smoky mountains" sounds like NC to me! I live in Sanford & work in Raleigh.
I'm also thinking about buying a Tanita scale. My scale at home is an old dial one & I'm not real sure about it's accuracy...it would be nice if it was wrong in a good way, but I have a feeling if I went to WW to weigh in at this point it might be a little worse than what my home scale says! I may just bite the bullet & pay for the Tanita soon. Maybe it will be on sale after Xmas?
Well, I should really get back to work! I'll try to check in more often from now on!

Long day of shopping here today. We've returned home and are contemplating an early dinner (hamburgers again). The kids are busy with their homeschooling and then chores -- which gives me a moment to drop by. :) After dinner we'll be hitting the rec center (the youngest will swim, the teen and I will exercise on machines). Ah, bliss.
LBH -- the beauty thing about this Belk's sale was that I got two fully lined wool skirts (one in red, one in burgundy) for only $3.50 each!!! Plus a ton of other cool things -- a linen dress, two flirty skirts, a denim Elisabeth skirt (my favourite plus sized designer) and more. Yowza! On a different note, I hope you get your illness figured out and on its way to a better place soon.
Juldiet -- ya know, the average American will gain a little more than 10 pounds between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day. The way I see it, if I stay even that's like losing 10 pounds. ;) Congrats on making it through the first holiday hurdle with a minimal gain -- and having a plan to make it go away again.
RoadRunner -- :) My husband doesn't really "get" online friendships -- mostly I think because he's never formed any. I can't imagine walking away suddenly just 'cause I wasn't dieting any longer. :)
Elisa -- a Belk is just your run o' the mill department store. :) I'd never seen them run so wonderful a "clearing out" sale -- which is why I just had to post! LOL!
Legal Eagle -- I am indeed in North Carolina. We live up in the mountains near the northern most entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park -- about 20 miles from most things (though there are some gas stations and convenience stores in the area). Its lovely -- and that's why we live here. :D We keep meaning to make it to Raleigh for a day of shopping at the thrift stores and pawn shops (my husband makes his living buying and reselling electronics) but haven't quite yet. Maybe next year.
Well -- off for my afternoon chores before making dinner. Y'all be good! (Or have fun... which ever floats your boat!!)

This has been a busy place!:) Great to see so many posts!
I'm still following my new exercise routine and today my abs are sore (plus the other parts that are still sore!). And I also went shopping today (after my orthodontist appointment) and had such a good time & got a lot done. Tomorrow I'm shopping w/friends so that'll be good too.
Tech - good luck getting back on track. Hope your finger is better!
Lauren - bummer that you had to wait so long. How frustrating.
Jul - sorry about the gain. It is so tough away from home.
RR - You are right, it is like we all know each other.:D
Elisa - you know that your loss will show up soon! Keep the faith!
SB - no Beck's here either. Sounds like a real fun day today.
LE - Hi! Congrats on not gaining over Thanksgiving!! I think those Tanita scales are on sale now, maybe at Target, for around $38.
Gotta run - weigh in is tonight.

SB: you mentioned homeschooling. I do too! We just started this year with kindergarten since the boys are 4 and 5. Its going well. I love the freedom of homeschooling. I'm not a morning person and I can't imagine having the 5 yr old up that early every day for public school. The bus comes around at 7 a.m. We usually don't start school until 2 or 3 in the afternoon.
I've been in Belks before but we don't have them here. We do have a Kohls that has great sales. I love shopping the thrift stores and I seem to be getting known for my good deals. We run into the same people at different shows and they always ask how little I paid for my hat or vest or jacket. I love vintage hats and always try to wear one at the shows.
RR: anxious to hear how the dr apt went.
LBH: I can't believe you waited that long at the DR. I always go up to the window and reschedule if I have to wait more than 30 min.
A little too much icecream tonight but otherwise a pretty good day. It rained all day - I love rain! But it was too cold to take a walk in the rain. I did find that I had another tree hit by lightening in the back yard over the weekend. That is 3 trees in the last 2 years in my yard plus the 5 knocked over by the wind storm last easter. I'm starting to wonder about the electric magnatism of my yard. - jul

Rabbit -- I suddenly realized last night that the muscles directly under my arms are aching. I'd been worried because for several weeks now when I'd take my bra off at night, that area would ache and ache. Last night I had my husband check it for anything out of the ordinary and he said, "Could it be the exercise?" That made me move my arms in the back and form "elliptical trainer" motion and *poof* sure enough, that's where the ache was coming from. :) That's just a long way of saying I'm discovering muscles I never knew I had!
Jul -- Homeschooling is soooooo rewarding. I've been homeschooling since my younger child was in kindergarten. My older daughter (now 14) is homeschooled but has also in the past spent time in public school. Strangely enough, I'm also known for my love of vintage hats. I have a small lot here that I just bought at the local flea market -- two basic black with feathers and beaded trim and a lovely medium brown with a black band and small rouched flower. :)
Today is my weigh in day and I don't think I'm over the damage I caused while traveling. *sob* On the other hand, I'm very much on track for doing well -- its just a question of whether I recovered from my heavy points days. I usually only lose when I eat at the bottom of my range. Oh, well. :D
Have a great day!!

All went well at the docs!!Too early to detect the heartbeat cuz I am only 9 weeks...She told me to come back in 2 weeks and the nurse will let me tape it...This appointment was just blood work(lots of it), another exam(yuck) and they gave me all the info on classes etc...I go back in Jan for the next one...
Last night I took the kids and friends to see some snow!!!They used 300tons of ice and it was neat to see the machines blowing snow downtown!!!The funniest was to pay $1 to walk in the snow when it is free for most of ya'll!!!!They did have fun soo that is all that matters...
Sbunny--Yeah for the muscle pain!!!That is a good sign!!!
WEll, must run!!!!Going to Santas Workshop with the little one today!!!
12-01-2001, 11:36 AM
You know, I had this big long post here, and I guess when they did the upgrade, it went away. Oh well.
RR- Glad the appointment went well! Will they give you a sonogram in January?
I'm going to buy an answering machine and bring it down to my grandparent's today. Their's is not working right, but I think it's probably because they always hit the button and screw it up or something. It's only got one button to do everything. I want to get them one like mine, a digital, with all the buttons - stop, play, delete, rev, fow, on/off...ya' know. This way there's no room for error!! I can't find my model anywhere though, it's an AT&T 1715. I guess it's not made anymore, I've had mine a few years. Not looking forward to the ride down there, it's a good 1 1/2 hrs. down the parkway, but they're thrilled that I'm coming. DH is at the fire house all day because one of his friends is having a b-day party for his twin girls - 1st!
