Has anyone ordered this yet? I was thinking about it because I tried the moves on the infomercial and I can really see where it would work my abs and be fun. Because quite frankly I am sick of looking at Billy Blanks. I love you Billy :)

I just borrowed it off a friend. I popped it in the dvd player, had it on for about 5 inutes, then popped back in my Turbo Jams. I couldn't get the hang of it, bit I'm going to give it another whirl.

I thought about turbo jam, but it kinda looks very messy to me.. kinda like your all over the place. Im just not sure.. I need something thats going to shock my body, and help me get my sweat on. The biggest hunk of junk I ever bought was carmen electras strip tease box set. WHAT_EVER! haha

I keep being tempted by the info-mercials for this, too. It looks like fun! My daughter is in a hip-hop class, and I have tried to learn her routine to practice that, but since it's a team dance, there are too many breaks. I need something more consistent to really get me going, and it HAS to be fun if I'm going to stick to it!

I had to have a little laugh at this, I tried the Striptease dvd yesterday. I won't be doing that again, lol.
I also had the Yoga Booty Ballet set, but it jumps right into things pretty quickly, so I'm not sure if I like them or not.

I wasn't coordinated enough for it. :) This is a problem I have with most cardio videos, though (I once accidentally kicked a toddler trying to do Tae Bo). If you're good at what you normally do, it might be good for you. I like the YBB stuff in general. Though the one man they had in their "burlesque" video...That was just weird.

im pretty good at the taebo/bootcamp dvd's I would just HATE to spend 60 bucks on something and hate it. Well I guess it does have that 30 money back thing.. hmmm.. I should just order it and shut up I guess.

Unless you really can dance and/or are coordinated enough to learn, I wouldn't suggest this for people. You're really better off getting something like taebo if you're going for weight loss. As for the abs, yes this is alot better than sitting on the floor trying to to crunches. It's like standing up and doing the crunches... so if nothing else, find someone that can burn you a copy or upload a copy of the dvd with the ab workout on it.
I gotta say - I love my HHA! Shaun T is ultra energetic and the workout is fun. And to me - fun makes all the difference. I can't say I'm highly coordinated, yet have found the workout to be fairly easy to do. There's the odd shoulder shrugging thing I can't do, but you can always just fake it and get back in line with the next move.
I've found I love doing standing ab work. The first few times I didn't feel much, but now that I've been doing it consistently - you can REALLY feel it when your tilted and tightened correctly. So not only am I finally MOVING, but actually seeing results as well.

Hey guys, just wanted to provide a little input about hip hop abs:
I really enjoy it, actually. The cardio workout is easy for a beginner, and if you find it hard to follow along with the routine, don't worry about it. I was so out of shape that I couldn't either at first, especially towards the end... but doing it everyday for a couple weeks I know what to expect and can follow along much easier. Going slow is fine and being out of step is fine, as long as your "core is tight" (as in abs) and you're still moving.
I've been doing cardio at least everyday and sometimes the Ab sculpt after i do the cardio. I just tried the hips, buns and thighs workout and my hips, buns, and thighs are aching, heheheh, though I expect not as much since I've been doing the cardio for a while.
Also, Shaun is an entertaining guy to watch.
Well, good luck with your individual workouts, guys.

I love Turbo Jam!!! I have been doing Turbo Jam for about a year now and although I don't get as tired, I still work up a good sweat. I haven't tried hip hop abs yet, but I'm sure it just depends on your preference. I've heard about Carmen Electra's striptease DVD's, are they worth it?:carrot:

I had heard about Hip Hop Abs many times but never saw the infomercial until this morning. Well, come to find out Shaun T is someone I know from high school! It was crazy reading about all the stuff he's done since then...plays, movies, tv shows. Now I'm tempted to buy it, I think it'd be kind of neat having someone I know teaching me the moves! He used to sing with a group of guys in high school (phenomenal voice). They were very boyz 2 men-ish. :)

if anyone has any workout dvds (HHA, TJ, ANYTHING!) that they bought and don't use or like, send 'em my way! (too young for credit card hahah) :D
i dance (jazz/hiphop) but we're in the off season, but i want to keep dancing, and workout regularly. no credit card+not sold in stores=no workout for me :(

I've had the dvds for a while, but I think I will start the "6 day slimdown" tomorrow morning. ShaunT is so hot and nice to look at! I've never done any other dancing videos so I don't really know how they compare but I am a dancing idiot and the moves are pretty easy to follow. It is entertaining to dance in front of my computer w/my 2.5 yr old (she calls it exerkize). :carrot:

I just bought HHA online over the weekend and I am anxiously awaiting its arrival : ) I have lost about 28 pounds over the last 3 months doing WW Points and Alli, but I have not really incorporated exercise and need to. This seems like a fun way to do it and keep me motivated. I will let you all know how it goes : )

I recently ordered HHA from QVC. When they arrived, I popped them in my dvd player and I gotta tell ya...they were way too complicated for this 46 year old to catch on to!!! I sent them back (just couldn't justify spending $65 on something I'm not gonna use). I'll stick with WATP...its easier for me to follow:)

I was sooo disappointed by Hip Hip Abs! Can be fun if you disregard the "cheesyness" and the "trying too hard" factor from most participants... but the main problem is that I don't think it's a really good workout. I don't really feel it, and it's not like I'm in excellent shape right now, I'm just getting back into exercising. Plus breathing properly (as you should while exercising) is almost impossible if you tilt, tuck and tighten every time he wants you too. You risk getting lightheaded because of lack of oxygem, among other things.
I SO should have ordered TurboJam :(

I agree. It's a 'light day' workout, or for someone who's been sedentary for awhile...AND the music is bad.
Shawn is funny, though.

i have hip hop abs and i love it! i got my sister to buy it in wv and post it to me because they dont deliver to ireland. the last minute abs in pretty intense and total body burn was absolutely vicious, i did it once and couldnt walk properly for 2 days afterwards cos i was so stiff! it was great! its hard to get the hang of the standing abs but if youre doing it properly while doing the high energy cardio you really can feel it working! also shaun t is so fun and its really cute the way he tells you "you're amazing!". he makes me believe it which is nice! the only problem is i moved to france for a while and when i came back all my hha dvds were gone and i cant find them anywhere! i dont really have time this week to do it anyway but its the principle of the thing!

I bought Hip Hop Abs and my sister bought Turbo Jam and we trade each weekend. Both are great and it was a great way to save money. Highly recommend both.

If anyone tried it and hated it I wouldn't mind trading for one or two of the more cardio based ones. I can send you a list of what I have to trade.
Not sure if this is allowed on 3FC's? If not feel free to erase my post.

I actually have the same question as Idealmuse. I would really like to try HHA and am willing to trade anyone one or two of my many workout DVDs or even the my VHSs for them. I'll be glad to PM anyone a list of DVDs/VHSs I'm willing to trade.

I like Hip Hop Abs a lot. I think it's fun to do, but once you've done it enough times to get the hang of the dances, it's not as much fun because he goes through the first sections slow. I think there should be separate workouts for trying to learn the dances and then another for the full-speed dance. I agree it WAS hard for me to remember to tuck my belly in the entire time. The first time I got done the workout my back was sore, but not my abs! I was obviously doing something wrong. The total body burn is a great workout, though.
I also want Turbo Jam, I've heard good things about it. I guess that will be my next purchase!

Hello All ,
To FitMomEB, I agree with you to a certain extent about HHA. Sean is cheesy and appears to be a little too sweet. The music is NOT hot but the workout is actually OK for someone just starting a regimen. I got the DVD last week and just started it today, and it was more than enough for me, being a new beginner.
I was surprised at how hard it was for me to get the steps down (seeing that I thought I had rhythm!!!) :carrot:... The carrot almost looks like one of the moves they do in the video when going in full pace!!!!
For Chocolette, I have yet to lose weight on the DVD, but I am excited about becoming a regular user of the DVD. I do also plan on getting Turbo Jam, as I heard it is really good. I also heard the two together work very well.
Right now, I give a thumbs up to HHA, but I have yet to use the other DVD. I hope it gets better with time. Sean is still cheesy!!! Good bye for now  and definitely keep on trucking.....:dancer:

Well seems my post is missing lol
You can download HHP for FREE on VeohTV. You do not have to download if you do not want to, you can just go there and type in hip hop abs and watch it. there is disc one and 2 there. That is what I use and also I use You Tube. They have Billy Blanks Workouts there also. I am doing the Ab BootCamp and it WORKS!

Im thining about getting HHA... i got turbo jam and pretty much hated it. not sure why i just couldnt get the hand of it. But they have a turbo kick class (based off of turbo jam) at my gym that i love. Ive been a dancer for a long time... havent professionally danced in 3 years but i think HHA would be a fun work out. Not sure though i dont want to hate it like turbo jam

I just tried it out yesterday and Hip Hop Abs is quite a workout. Granted I am a total beginner and haven't properly exercised in ages, but I thought it was easy to understand. He does do some weird moves, but I got most of it, and I'm sure I could pick up the rest of it after I watch a few more times. It will definitely make you sore though, so you know you are working out.

I have not seen much difference in my abs yet. Been using for 2weeks. Billy Blanks Ab BootCamp seems to be working, I think.
I think The Firm abs,Gilads, and 8min Abs are the best ones so far. I FEEL my abs working on those, not so with these. I can REALLY tell a difference with those workouts!
Sometimes I think Shelly in BB Ab Bootcamp,is faking it lol It looks like she is in pain but I feel nothing.
