OT-did anyone tape the Yankees game on Tuesday, 5/1
Hi,
I apologize for the totally OT post. We couldn't get this game on a local channel, and I'd love to get a copy for my son Matthew. The starting pitcher, Philip Hughes, used to play for our local minor league team, Trenton Thunder. Matthew met him quite a few times after games, and Philip even gave him a pitching lesson! He was a very nice, down to earth and polite person...glad we have a bunch of his autographs now
If anyone did record the game, could you please pm me? Again, I'm really sorry for posting this, but I have a very disappointed seven year old who'd love to see this game.
Sorry, Tricia! My husband is a lifelong Phillies fan (he knows they stink, but he's very loyal) and it kills him that Matthew loves the Yankees...and that his room is filled wtih Yankees stuff..and yankees dvds...My dh is so sweet-he got Matthew Yankees tickets for his birthday in July. He absolutely hates going into New York for anything, but he'll do it because Matthew wants to see a live game so badly.
I know for sure how your husband feels. I'm a Royals fan! hahaa Also, my husband is a Phillies fan but doesn't follow them real closely. It's just residual from his childhood and teen years. He's from Jersey as well...so that's where it's from.
I didn't tape it, but I watched part of it. He's an amazing pitcher for as young as he is. Great first six innings. Too bad he got hurt. Hope he can rebound well. Even if he does play for the Yankees. Yankees, Blech!!!
Can't really help you, sorry. But you might be able to get it online at mlb.com. I think it costs, but it might be worth it.
They don't sell tapes of the games, but you can watch the game online. At least you could last year. I don't know if they've changed things. Last year it cost $3 or $4 dollars and you could watch the game on your computer. Or you could get a subscription and watch all the games for the month or the season. I bought a couple of games last year, because I had missed them and cool stuff had happened, but I haven't needed to yet this year.
Unfortunately, we still have dial up, so downloading would take forever! We have a friend who works for a firm on Wall Street -he said there are some Yankees season ticket holders who work there-he's going to check to see if any of them recorded the game.
