Is the Blonde version any better?

04-30-2007, 02:58 PM
YES--it had 3 lites in one day!!!

04-30-2007, 02:59 PM
Oh good - I'll head off to CVS today and lighten my hair!

04-30-2007, 03:23 PM
I must be a weird one. I just peel my grapefruit and eat it like an orange.

04-30-2007, 06:00 PM
Kim - I think peeling a grapefruit is strange. I grew up with grapefruit spoons (wonder where they got off to). So I cut my grapefruit in half and run a knife around the edge and cut sections....I must say, today's grapefruits have been delicious! I want more than my allotment.

I feel skinny, oh so skinny NOT

04-30-2007, 07:41 PM
I never peeled my grapefruit until I went to Texas... my parents' neighbors peeled theirs, so I gave it a try. It was goooo-oood.. and now I'm hooked!

04-30-2007, 07:42 PM
Kim - can't wait to see the new color lol

04-30-2007, 08:45 PM - what do you think?

04-30-2007, 09:11 PM
I think you are a hoot

04-30-2007, 10:16 PM
Oh Kim that should be your new Avatar...hilarious!

Joni - I eat grapefruit the same way and have several grapefruit spoons..must be a southern thing huh?

04-30-2007, 10:52 PM
Kim - :lol3:

Kim - I'm a huge Phyllis Diller fan. She always made me laugh!

Okay - I'm not gonna de membrane my grapefruit....
We took a group of people who had a half of a grapefruit three times a day before each meal. And, much to our surprise, without really altering their diet, they lost 3 pounds or a pound a week without really doing anything else," Fujioka said.

Researchers said the weight loss has something to do with the grapefruit membrane.

Fujioka's theory: The grapefruit's membrane may control appetite and help regulate insulin. Eating the fruit decreased insulin's after- meal spike and, as a result, ensured that calories were processed for energy rather than for fat storage.

"It may be that the membrane has something that will give you a feeling of fullness or it has separate effect in helping with weight loss. We are not really sure," Fujioka said.

:o You guys totally crack me up!! Love the pic Kim!

Paula - that is how I've always done mine too. I LOVE grapefruit! Interesting article you posted. I have wondered about that very thing recently because the weeks I haven't ate my grapefruit my losses have been smaller. I typically eat one a day.

Wendy - I wanted to say thanks for posting about doing the grapefruit because it inspired me to start the 8 week thingy, and I didn't want to do the dang juice. It so much more fulfilling to eat my juice, lol! Your post today helps me to formulate what to do in 12 days. Thats the one I'm really dreading with only the 6oz of protien.

oops don't know where the crazy face came from in my post above, lol! Really, you didn't scare me! LOL!

05-01-2007, 10:14 AM - what do you think?

05-01-2007, 12:14 PM
In my best Billy Crystal accent "Kim you look marvelous!"

05-01-2007, 12:20 PM
Thank you, thank you... My biggest problem is fitting my head in the car!

And, just so I don't totally hijack the thread - interesting info, Joni. I really dislike grapefruit, but hey... anything that helps a loss.....

05-01-2007, 01:02 PM
LOL!! Love the new hairdo Kim!!

Joni - I've also always eaten my grapefruit with a spoon. Must be a southern thing, like you say. Don't think I like it enough to eat it 3 or 4 times a day, though.

05-01-2007, 01:41 PM
Wow Joni, that's great info you found! I guess I may have to deal with eating the membrane in an attempt to lose some more poundage.

STOP SAYING THE M WORD. I swear I read that word and then look down at this peeled grapefruit sitting on my desk and I think it's actually pulsating now. Oh I'm feeling queezy, someone call a paramedic. (or a grapefruit exorcist)

05-01-2007, 02:36 PM
Okay...we've started a trend here. One person says you can lose some weight by eating grapefruit membrane, and we all jump on the band wagon:)...Guess what I'm eating?...Yep, a peeled grapefruit!!! Pretty yummy, too.

05-01-2007, 10:02 PM
Tina - that is funny how the power of the internet can take us over...
blink blink blink (that's what I kept doing on Wendy's behalf)
Jillian - I'm loving the grapefruit too.
Debbie_Nashville - how was your road trip today?

05-01-2007, 10:52 PM
Road trip was flawless!! One NSV for me...yaaaaaaaay. Thanks for asking Joni. Hope you had a POP day :o)

05-02-2007, 09:05 AM
I completed my 2 day grapefruit (vs oranges or juice) Fast Forward (I don't do Lites, so it was pretty much grapefruit, lettuce, cucumbers, celery and lean protein for two days). My loss was 3.5. I'm good with that, especially since TOM is due any day.

05-02-2007, 09:43 AM
i completed my 2 day grapefruit TO and lost 5lbs! :) however, i did gain 5lbs (water weight mostly) over the weekend due to not-so POP food/drink choices. so, i'm happy that i'm back to where i was on saturday! yay!
