Good morning, 3FC Friends! Can you believe this is the last day of the month? How is your committment level today? Is there anything special you need to work on today or this week? Share them with us here and let's keep each other committed and motivated to continue on this journey.
Today - I am committed to moving forward to Phase 2 of my plan and quit hanging around in Phase 1.5. I will add one whole grain food item to my intake for the day.
Hope everyone has a great Monday. :)

I'm committed today! It's possible I'll enter the two-teens next week and I'm SO wanting that!
I'm committed to staying on plan...even though the day is hectic and I've got an out of town track meet to work around. I can do this! I've been doing it consistently for 3.5 months and the results are showing!!!!
I'm also committed to at least investigate some form of strength training. I'm not willing to join a gym at this point....I just hate spending the money if this is something I can do at home! I need to see what's out there!

I am committed....
I had a rough weekend - I started my new meds for Diabetes - and wow did they make me sick. I read the insert for the meds and it said it could take up to two weeks to get past that. So - I did not exercise this last weekend - but I surely did not eat much either... :p
So my committment for today is just eating on plan - if I feel better this evening I am going to go for a walk.

Good morning, Everyone. Hope you are having a great day.
Penney - I hope your body adjusts to your new medication soon.
Mrs Quadcrew - What kind of weight bearing exercise are you thinking of trying? I'd like a trampoline. :D
Tricia - Have you tried the exercise bands? Those and one of the big exercise balls are really all you need to start strength training. You might want to invest in some dumbells, but you don't really need them just to get started.
Well, I have a very busy day today. I'm a bit behind on my work schedule and I have a team meeting to facilitate today. The house was shown again yesterday evening, but no offers.:( I'm a bit stressed today, but going off-plan is not the answer. Today, my committment is to stay on-plan....Southbeach only foods and I will do my hour on the treadmill.

Trampoline is out of the question. (DD severely broke her leg on one when she was young - with a gymnastics Coach right there!) I have purchased the exercise ball, some bands and some 3 lb. weights though. NOW I just have to USE them!;)
Commitment - USE the new goodies I bought! We have a new walking trail near our home now, and I have used that the last 2 days of walking. I'll get a LOT Of use out of that!

Hi Ladies! I am committed to make May my best month yet. I am really enjoying exercise like I never thought I would. If I could only stay focused with my eating. I'm on track the majority of the time, but little things slip in here and there. I know I can't deprive myself of everything, but I need to stay focused. That is my goal for this week.

Good morning! Hope everyone is having a great day!
Mrs Quadcrew - I'd love to have a walking trail near me. I bet it makes walking so much more enjoyable.
Tiffany - I'm with you! I also want to make May my best month yet.
Yesterday was kind of a bust on my plan. I did exercise, but I didnt drink much water and I ate an off-plan meal last evening. Today, I'm back on track. Home buyer traffic is picking up and we've had a couple of offers. There is a very high probability that we will be moving in the next couple of months. I want to get as strong as possible before we move....so I can help tote boxes and move furniture! I also want to lose as many inches as possible before we move. So, I have extreme motivation to make this the best month ever!
Today's committment: I will add weight lifting to my exercise regimen.

Rhonda ~ You'll do great with the strength training. I love that sore feeling after a great workout. Strange, I know, but it lets me know that I worked my butt off.
I'm committed! I'm starting to realize how much I really want this, and more importantly, that I CAN do it.

Hi Tiffany,
I apologize if I havent been paying attention....do you strength train with weights? If you do, have you noticed the inches dropping off quicker? Back in 1995, I was doing aerobic classes everyday and working out with the Nautilus machines. I seem to remember looking like I had lost way more than I actually had. I really want to look as slim as possible before our move. I'm thinking that weight training may be my ticket.

Hi everyone!
Okay - today is the best that I have felt since I started my new meds. I actually exercised yesterday.......... got really sweaty - it was great!
My committment today is to eat right (so far, so good), drink my water and do some kind of exercise, I think that I am going to go with yard work tonight.... that is always a guaranteed workout...
Have a great day everyone!!

My commitment today is sticking onplan. It's a cool and very rainy day outside...the kind of weather that SERIOUSLY triggers me to binge!!! Anyway, I had to have fasting bloodwork this morning so after that I grabbed a PowerBar for quick protein and calories. Then went to the store for the next few days' produce. Then grabbed a grilled bacon ranch salad from McD's...ate 1/2 the dressing. So far so good! I'm a little over 600 calories going into afternoon snack and dinner. Just have to stay focused. Tonight, dinner is homemade chicken noodle (whole wheat, no yolk) soup and homemade whole wheat bread. I'm throwing tons of extra vegetables in the soup (like squash, zucchini) and also some mushrooms. Pretty dog-gone healthy! :)
So, rainy day...cool weather...no problem. I'm committed!!!

Rhonda, yes I do strength train. I haven't been lifting heavy. I mostly do Turbo Jam strength training DVD's which are lower weight/high rep workouts. I'm up to 5 lbs, which doesn't seem like a lot but I definitely feel it. If I were to just lift freeweights, I could lift much higher. I think I'll start with freeweights soon.
Anyway, I've lost 4 inches from my waist and 3 from my hips in the past 3 months. If I lifted heavier it could be more, I don't know.
But the real benefit for me is feeling stronger. I can really see how lifting benefits cardio exercise. I'm able to punch harder and kick stronger when I do my Turbo Jam. And my walking has improved too. So weights will help you in that area too, allowing you to go harder with your cardio and burn even more calories. Do you have a routine together?

Hi Tiffany,
I don't have a routine yet. Hubby and I walk on the treadmills at the 'Y' and they have both free weights and machines. I don't think I want to begin with free weights because its been a while since I've worked out with weights. The machines are Precor machines which are supposed to target several muscles at once. I think I'm going to start tomorrow. I measured today and I'll be very interested to see what happens with my body....whether the inches start dropping, if my clothes fit differently, if the scales continue to move down. I'll keep everyone here posted on what happens.
