Default snack ideas

Hi all -
What ideas do you have for snacks that you can store in a desk? My (future) coworkers bring in massive amounts of food and I want to prepare myself. I'm doing the intuitive eating thing, so nothing is off-limits, but healthy is good. I'm not a big fan of 100-calorie packs. They just make me want to eat the box.

So far, the only idea I have is Wasa crackers/natural peanut butter.

Thanks -
Vanessa

I sit at a desk all day too, and when my co-workers pop the butter popcorn, I go to the fridge and get my snack. Normally its 1/2 cup of lowfat cottage cheese, to which I mix 1/4 cup Grape nuts that I've added a dash of cinnamon to. I found that if I add a 1/2 cup of yogurt, I stay full longer (my fave is the WW 1pt vanilla yogurt). I know you can't store this in a desk, but an insulated luch box would work.
I also keep dried apricots and dried plums handy. Apples, bananas or other seasonal fruit, Trail Mix (Sams Choice Tropical minus the mango), String Cheese, little cups of fruit cocktail. I pack my lunch in the morning and pack 2 single serving snacks to take along. That way if I get hungry I am prepared and can avoid the snack machine.
Hope this helps!

I'm really loving the Kashi granola bars. I LOVE the peanut butter ones, and I just tried the cherry/chocolate ones today and they are pretty good too.

How about raisins and nuts? If you prepackage them in little bags, then you won't be tempted to eat more than just a handful.

I eat every 2.5 to 3 hours, to keep from getting over hungry, so I have to keep food at work. I have a drawer I can put food into, thank goodness.

Here's what I've got right now:

some peppermints & gum
Pria Plus Chocolate Mint bars - 110 calories
peanut butter
an apple
soup
tuna packets - 90 cal
Wasa whole grain crispbreads
sometimes I bring in lite bread (40 cal slice)
100 cal microwave popcorn (that's a whole grain, right?)

In the fridge at work I keep
sugar snap peas
Laughing Cow lite cheese
low fat miracle whip
low sugar jam
In the freezer portion I keep a few low-cal frozen entrees.

Strawberry Special K Bars are my best friend when it comes to keeping something in my purse for those emergencies. They are awesome!
