pun intended!
I used to love bread I would have married a baker if I could! Now I will say it still tastes good. But I discover that it makes my stomach hurt makes me gassy and makes it harder to go to the bathroom.
Now mind you yesterday I ate a salad with a whole lot of beans in it and no gas/problems and I've been eating that salad for 3 days Bread this morning and mass tummy discomfort
I don't have problems with Matzoh tho so It's wierd!

for me, it's the dough factor.

i like the crunchy outsides of bread, but not the soft inner stuff. bleccch. tastes like paste these days.

ice cream. it's just way too sweet for me.

mayo wasn't one of my faves before, and it still isn't! lima beans have never ranked high with me, and still don't.

pasta isn't too thrilling anymore. it tastes like, well, nothing! i'd rather have the stuff you put on pasta and leave the pasta aside.

good quesion, Kier -

I was just thinking about this the other day. I just loved mayo before surgery. I would put a couple of tablespoons on a plate and drag cold tritip through it. Now, I can't stand mayo!! It just makes me want to wretch. I can eat Miracle Whip, but please, no mayo.

Good Thread! I was definitely a beef eater before surgery--fixed any way any time. Steak doesn't taste good at all now, hamburger is okay in a hotdish, but I now prefer ground turkey. Eggs is the other thing. It doesn't matter how they are prepared (or egg beaters), I can eat them, but they taste terrible!

It's the funniest thing--I was on the bus coming home Wednesday and someone had come on with a bag from some fast food place; it must have had some French fries in it. I used to LOVE fries--but now the smell of them are nauseating!

Red meat no longer appeals to me either..nor do I crave chocolate and soda like I used to.

I do this all the time I fry sweet italian sausage that I removed the skin from with finely chopped onions and green peppers and add my favorite tomato sauce (one of the small jars works best don't want it too saucy). I eat this out of a bowl with a fork, no pasta needed. If a really am craving carbs I may eat one piece of garlic toast that I dunk generously!

I'm so glad I went back and read this post after surgery. I was beginning to think something was wrong with me and now I know that what I'm experiencing is not that unusual. I am going to try some of the suggestions, like pasta sauce, instead of the pasta. I just ate some chicken noodle soup, but only ate the soup, the noodles didn't taste good. Same with bread. Beans have been my livlihood since surgery and they don't seem to make me gaseous.(sp)? Since we've had others on with new surgery, I'm wondering what they're experiencing food wise.
Oh, I have always loved hamburger patties. Now my few little bitty bites which amount to nibbling on the side of the patty is all I can tolerate.
Chicken has to be so juicy that it comes apart. Again just a few tiny bites or I begin to hurt.
Life is strange now. I use to live to eat and now I eat to live.

Blessings.

Nothing. Honestly.

I have no foods that I liked before surgery that give me any trouble digestively. None that make me nauseated. I only dump from something really "bad" like a Dairy Queen blizzard - I can have everything in moderation.

Milk...I miss milk. I can only tolerate about 2 swallows of milk...any more than that and it's gassy, dumping city for me. Ice cream does the same to me...I can tolerate maybe 2 bites...SMALL bites...after that it's all gas & dumping. Other than that...I'm good.
