Hello everyone.

Looks like we are still on baby watch... I hope that by now Marissa has made her entrance. :-)

Cristina- yes that lady retired. The boss has been sick and he came back today. I guess he is keeping me cause he asked me when it was that I was going on vacation and wrote it on his calendar. When I came back from making the bank deposit the lady told me she wasn't coming in on Fri (yeaaahhh) then she told me I was depending too much on her! Well maybe that's because when I am trying to remember where I needed to be in the computer and I went to the wrong screen she was jumping to it telling me I was wrong. I am nervous with her over looking everything and she jumps on my mistakes and hesitations so sure it's easier just to wait for her to tell me what to do in the first place.
So anyhow, things are going ok on my end. Off program and not exercising, but I am so consumed with learning this job, I don't know I just don't feel like I can function in too many realms- lol

Have a good day ladies. It's cold and 44* here and I am sick to boot!

Hello ladies...

JODI...woohoo! Bet you will be happy when she is gone! I would be nervous with someone watching over my shoulder. Hey, you'll get back OP and back to your exercise once you get your job straight and things are going well with that. I can only imagine the stress level.

It's a dreary, rainy day here today, ick. Making up for the last two days it was supposed to rain and didn't, lol.

Have a good day!

Just a quick drop-in. Everytime you ladies complain about your rainy weather, we get it the next day! With my sis visiting, we were planning to go to Baltimore's Inner Harbour tomorrow but may be rained out :( Just got done eating steamed crabs on my deck. They were delicious!! But now it is starting to cloud up and not looking forward to the weather coming from the west. Gonna relax before my dancing tonight. Check in with everyone later.

HI TAMMY! Didn't think I was complaining, lol. We've just had soooo much rain the last few weeks, since the end of March and it would be nice to have lots of sunny days. :sunny: Glad you enjoyed the crabs. And hope you have a nice time dancing tonight!

Thought I woul dcheck back to see if anyone posted before I log off. More painting this evening and then grocery day and have some errands to run tomorrow. So...take care ladies and enjoy you day! :)

"and the rain, rain, rain came down, down, down"

Holy Moly is it ever gonna stop? LOL I'm beginning to think not...just had to make a run to the grocery store for more veggies and fruit and the river I cross over has overflowed it's banks, so I am pretty sure old Piglet must be bailing!! it's another dreary day here and suppose to do this tomorrow too, sigh, cross whatever can be crossed that the weekend forecast is true, sunshine and 70's and 80's...my most dreaded time of month showed up this morning, oh joy LOL, I think menopause is gonna skip right on by me, my Hubby would say the joys of womanhood, he so needs smacked, LOL I've had it for forty years now and haven't found a thing joyous about it yet. Well I hope everyone has a Good Day and stays dry LOL if that's possible.

I was happy that the rain could water the seeds I just planted for a butterfly garden. I am not much of a gardener and didn't know when I had watered enough or whatever. So now I know that they have gotten a really good soaking- lol.
Rain wouldn't be too bad if it would stay warm while doing it, but it never got out of the 40's - I can do without that!

Cristina and you other rain soaked ladies...funny thing is, I don't have to listen to any local weather reports because you all let me know what is coming my way. We just got a huge thunderstorm and getting more tomorrow night. Come on your westerners, bring back some sunshine lol!!

Huge questions for everyone....Has anyone ever had a root canal that several days later started hurting again. I've had 3 previous root canals over the past several years and had another one this past Fri. Everything went well and I am expected to get a crown on the tooth in a few weeks. Well last night it started with pressure pain when I bit down on it. Duh...the nerve was removed from the tooth. I called the dentist and all they said was that it was probably a little sensitive and as long as there was not any swelling to wait it out. This never happened with the other root canals and just wondering about other's experiences.

BTW, my hands are so swollen from all the salt and spice on the crabs. I've been drinking water like crazy. Have a wonderful night and sleep well!!

Still raining here as well! it kind of makes me feel young again, lol. I have to take Ernie dog down the street to go potty because we have no grass and we got caught in a downpour, lol. I felt like a kid playing in it, lol.

JODI...glad the rain is watering things for you. I keep forgetting to tell you THANK YOU! for the card I received a few days ago. I meant to thank you when I got it and it kept slipping my mind. :thanks:

PINKJANE...menopause, ugh! LOL I think I've been going thru it for the last almost 10 years now, lol. But I must say, I do enjoy not having a TOM.

TAMMY...I have never had a root canal, sorry can't help ya there. Funny, about us being the weatherman for ya, lol. Never thought of it that way. How was dancing tonight?

Well, I better get going. V is still painting. Actually ran out of the green and he had to run to the store and get more. But, I had ordered some shirts online and just received them today and need to send one back. There was nothing inside the package to return it. Had to fill out a sort of online form so that they will e-mail me the info on how to exchange it. Anywho...

Take care ladies. Hoping all is well with everyone. Nighty, night.

hello ladies!!!

Well, Marissa is here! She was born on April 24th at 11:55am. She weighed in at 6lbs. 14oz. and was 19 inches long. She is a little peanut that is for sure aand boy does she have daddy wrapped around her finger! I also had my tubal done a couple hours after she was born and so things are moving a little slowly in the walking department but we are getting better seems like each passing hour.

They gave me liquid motrin for the pain, as well as loritab to take. So far I have only needed to use the motrin and none of the loritab. I slept through the whole surgery and woke up when they were getting me prepped to go back on my bed and for them to wheel me back to my room. The next thing I saw was my room again, filled with people, and seeing my arms shaking all over the place because I was freezing! I ended up basically passing back out and so Tommy ended up feeding her a bottle while I was knocked out. I woke up and the room was still filled with people, then my first thing I was able to eat since before getting to the hospital almost 24 hours prior to that. Tommy went home and picked up the boys and brought them up, then it was the first night with Marissa.

She did have some issues with her hands/feet turning purple, but we worked them out and she is doing great! She has been moved to bottle feeding because I tried to get her to latch on before we got our discharge papers and she wanted nothing to do with them. So, she has been taking bottles like a champ. We did however have to get her some soy based formula, like her older brothers, she has an allergy to the milk based formulas.

Good morning, ladies,

Mindee - I was glad to see you post and read that all is well with you and Marissa. You'll be home soon, and then the real fun begins, right? What did the boys think of her?

Tammy - I've had 2 root canals, but never experienced what you're talking about. As a nurse, I know you'll keep a good eye out for any swelling, etc.

Cristina - I've got errands to run today, too. Makenzie is going with me, so I imagine there'll be more in my cart than I bargained for, lol. She isn't greedy, though. Last time she told me her family was out of Nesquik, lol, so I got it for her. We've had lots of rain here, too. I get it from you and send it to Jodi and then Tammy, lol.

Jodi - aww, I'm sorry you're sick. Hope you're better today. At least the other gal won't be hanging over your shoulder anymore! That thought has to make you feel better.

Pink Jane - I had a very easy menopause, thank goodness. And Good Riddance to TOM, lol. Very liberating!

Marti - :cp: yay for the move being over. Now you can slow down a little while you organize everything. When will James be back to help? I betcha Jhania is so happy to have you closer.

Hello to anyone else reading this.

Today I'm going grocery shopping and need to go get some pictures done, too. I use the 1-hour machine at Walmart, but it has been down for a couple of days. I hope it's fixed today. Then it's Mt. Washmore again, too. I did get my ironing done, and haven't worn any of the shirts yet, lol. I do love cotton shirts in warm weather, but the ironing is a bother.

Have a great day!

Good Morning gals...

The sun is shining and it's gorgeous outdoors. This weekend is going to be filled w/yard work. Yardwork!! :D I actually have a yard.............and weeds are the enemy. Last house, that's all I had so who cared??

I'm loving that I'm only 5mins. from work. I have been coming home for my breaks. Which is nice because I can see James more often that way.

I haven't WI since we moved. I'm not sure what the damage will be since we've been ordering delivery due to being so tired and exhausted and not wanting to cook. But our kitchen is finally in order and the ordering out will have to stop. I'll WI on Monday and let ya all know.

Sorry for not doing individuals at the moment. Need to get back into the swing of things before I do.

Time to go take a shower and get ready for work.

chat w/ya later tonight.

Jane- oh that lady will be back on Monday- lol Though I kind of paniced because I found out today that the boss is off until Tuesday- so he won't be there to help me tomorrow either! Oh well....

I am still sick. My throat is better but I didn't know if I could make it thru the morning or not. I was so woozy and I was hot and cold and sweating and freezing and I felt like I was going to hurl. That lady didn't care that I didn't feel well. Finally I turned on a fan to get some air circulation and I got past how I was feeling, though I do still feel a little woozy.

I got my first paycheck today too! Whoohoo!!!!!!!

Cristina- yw for the card that was thanking you for your card- lmbo

WELCOME TO THE WORLD MARISSA!!!!!
Congrats to Tommy and Mindee. Can't wait to see a picture of the world's newest cutie!

Jodi--I can't type the right keys for anything if someone is standing behind me.

Cristina--I guess we are finally getting our April Showers!!

Tammy--I am on the same rain schedule as you are--I know it's coming when everyone starts talking about it. I have had a root canal but not the problem you are talking about though one of my co-workers said she got a "dry socket" and it was really painful.

Mindee--so glad everything went well. Little girls seem to wrap their Dad's pretty quick and I would bet she will have two very protective big brothers. I had to do the soy formula too with DD after she wasn't interested in being breastfed.

Marti--glad you are all moved in!! DH and I were just talking about how we missed being less than 10 minutes from work. It's 30 minute drive for us each way.

Hi Jane and Pink Jane!! and everyone else!!

Oh, forgot to mention little Blake or Blair doesn't want to make an appearance and may wait until he is forced out on Monday the 30th!!

Little Henry Joseph is due for arrival on May 4, I am not sure if he will wait that long as Mommy's belly is hanging very low!!!!!

Wow, all these babies being born. I LOVE IT! Wish I was close to see them all, lol.

JULES...another nice name. I love Henry. Actually, went to school with a guy named Henry Ford, lol. No one teased him either...he was too cute to worry about his name, lol. Hope all goes well with little Blake or Blair.

MINDEE...CONGRAT'S again on little Marissa...another name I adore. And I bet she is a cutie. Hey, I was close to the vote. I voted 7 lbs 15 oz...but 21 inches long. And you cheated by being induced so I definitely didn't come close to the due date or the time, lol. Glad she is here and you guys are loving her. What do the boys think?

JODI...guess I missed that you weren't feeling well last night when I posted, Glad you are feeling a little better today.

JANE...hope you and Makenzie enjoy(ed) shopping today. I like cotton shirts in the spring/summer too and really hate ironing, lol. Instead of ironing now, I will hang the shirts to dry, and then when they are, I thrwo them in the dryer to get the wrinkles out and then hang them up. I used to be anal about wrinkles, not so more now. More lazy, lol.

MARTI...glad you are loving your new home and being closer to work, and Jhanai. Wish I could do yard work, lol! Well, I could. If I wanted to pick weeds out of the dirt, lol. Or should I say mud.

Well, got my errands run. Bought groceries, picked up some curtains from the cleaners and took an order back to Penneys. I ordered a purse and OMG! I loved it but it looked like a suitcase! So will have to go find one in person soon. I thought about keeping it but with it being so big I would end up filling it and my arms are not so great for carrying anything heavy. Also, heard from the company I ordered the t-shirts from. They are going to just send me a replacement at no charge and...told me to toss the shirt I have that was misprinted. Made my day to say the least. Anyway, now I am working on doing laundry. Was going to make a stop at the park while out this morning and get a walk in but with the wind it was cold. :brr: Had to turn the heat on.

Take care ladies and I hope everyone is having a grand day!

Hello everyone!

Nothing new on this end…..just getting used to having three little ones instead of two. They boys absolutely love Marissa! They are extremely protective of her already. If she cries, then run over to see what is the matter. If I am changing her diaper, they will stand and watch me. Brandon has already given her a tour of the living room while she was in the bassinet.

Their sleep schedule has been off since Monday night which it should be. I would be surprised if it wasn’t! Logan still will go to bed on his own, but he has pushed his bed time back to about 9 or 9:30pm. Brandon has refused to take an afternoon nap and then turns into monster boy because of it. But he is at least settling down a lot easier for us to put him to bed. Both don’t get up until about 9:30am….which is nice, but then they automatically go running to wake up Marissa.

Tommy has been off of work since Monday, after he worked for the day. He was already going to be off until Thursday. He called his boss and his boss told him that he would see him on Monday. So, he has a total of six days off now. His work sent over some flowers for me, and they are beautiful.

Marti~ thanks for the congratulations. Yay on being moved out!!!

Jane~ We have been home since Wednesday afternoon. We got discharged around one, and got home a little bit later. Things have been different, but not by much. The boys have really taken to her and she has taken to them. They are already smitten with her! The boys are already very protective of her. If she cries, they both run over to her to see what is wrong with her.

Jodi~ I hope you feel better soon! Tommy went to the doctor’s on Wednesday afternoon to find out what he had. The doctor told him that it is a virus that is going around and it lasts for two weeks. He told him to take Claritin D and Muscinex and it will go away. Thanks for the congrats and the welcome. I will have to post pics of her in a second.

Jen~ Thanks for the welcome for Marissa. I will have to post a pic of her in a second.

I think I am going to see if I can post one of the pics as my new avitar! We have had rain since Wednesday.

Jules~ Daddy and brothers are very smitten with her! When she was born, they didn’t want her to cry right away because she had meconium when they broke my water. She when they finally suctioned her all out, and she let the whole floor know she was here, Tommy started talking to her. When he was near her or talking to her, she was nice and calm. If he walked away or he stopped talking, she let him know that she didn’t like it. I can’t wait to hear about Tricia’s delivery!

Cristina~ As far as the poll went, (which reminds me, I need to go put her stats in) Tommy got the date right, but definitely NOT the weight! Thankfully she wasn’t 9lbs. 5oz like he thought she was going to be! They are in heaven! They are so very protective of her.

Welcome baby boy!!!! Good sized as well! Logan remains my biggest at being 8 pounds 2 ounces.

Pink Jane~ Thanks for the congrats and welcome!

Hello ladies...

PINKJANE...how did you like CSI last night? DD and I thought it was funny and really liked it. Loved the old man saying they shot my wife, lol.

JULES...:congrat: to your niece! Another little bundle of joy, ah. Give him lots of hugs from me.

MINDEE...I just noticed that Marissa was born a day after Brandon's BD. That will make it easy for BD parties, sort of. DD & DS#2, their bd's are a month apart and a couple of times when they were little I had a combined BD party. Didn't feel right inviting everyone (family & friends) for a second one so soon after the first. Once they were in school though they had separate ones and it was mainly their friends from school. Love your new avatar!

HI to everyone else

Nuthin much going on today. Doing laundry and working on getting some boxes unpacked in the family room. Went to the park for a walk but it started raining. Didn't feel like getting soaked. Of course now the sun is shining, lol. Going to go in about an hour if it's not raining.

Nuthin special planned for the weekend either. Going to be working on the family room still and then getting boxes out of storage. I know we have lots of stuff I want to get rid of and we are having a neighborhood yard sale May 18th or 19th so I've got a few weeks to get stuff together. Anywho...

Take care ladies and have a wonderful weekend!

Just a real quick post to say hello to you all.

Jules - congratulations to you! I hope momma and baby are fine.

This has been such a busy week and I can't believe how fast it's gone by! You know, we've lived here just over 1 year, and the county assessor just let us know yesterday that he'd be by today to assess the house for tax purposes. I thought he'd have to come inside, too, so I got my housework done early today. He didn't come in at all, but at least the house got clean in a hurry, lol. So I got some more scrapbooking done, lol. I've been re-doing some of the earliest pages I did a long time ago. There are so many cool papers and embellishments out there now that didn't used to be available. Then we had Terry's kids over for supper, and spent some time with them, and that was fun.

Gotta run.... time to karaoke with Neal, lol. You oughta hear him sing "Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime" - he's good!

Ciao, bellas!

I think we have a name Blair Anthony or Blair something though she still liked Blake Aiden. Momma had it a little rough. She started with irregular contractions on Wed evening. She called her Mom at 3 AM on Thursday and told her to come get her her water broke, the went to the hospital at 6 am and she was 5 cm dialated and the midwive said she thought he would be here before lunch and then she stopped dialating. They gave her something and she started again only to stop at 6 cm and then after giving her a little more, she finally finished. They did have to take her up to surgery and put her out to be stitched. Between the Demoral and the anesthisia (sp?) she was loopy so we actually didn't get in to see them Thursday, Friday morning she was running a fever so they gave her an antibiotic and some Motrin. This is a girl who when she outgrew her asthma she rarely got sick and rarely even takes a Tylenol. We got there around 4 in the afternoon and she says she was finally back to feeling like herself. The baby is beautiful!!!

Jane--yes they are both fine and I have to agree that this was a very busy week.

Pink Jane--hope Hubby made it back safe, it's suppossed to be rainy here today but sunshine and 70's tomorrow

Sassy--so glad you are feeling better!!

Cristina--I had to unwrap baby and look at the fingers and toes!! Teri was afraid to hold him at first, she does better with bigger kids. Her latest boyfriend has a 3 year olf daughter named Lily that adores her. Lily calls her Teri Beri. While we were at the hospital she called to make sure Teri was coming to se her.

Mindee--I am so glad everything went well. Jerry went in the delivery room with me and when Teri was born he told me she was beautiful and her little head turned right to his voice. He talked to her the whole time she was in the "grow womb"

Jodi--glad the job is going well

Well girls I gotta go--hi to everyone else!!

Happy Saturday Ladies!!

Mindee--Congratulations on your new baby girl. I'm so happy to hear that everything went well with the delivery and that the boys adore her. Can't wait to see close up pix of her.

Jules--send my congrats to your neice on her new baby boy!

Cristina--Yikes, you had the heat on the other day!! We are finally having beautiful weather.

Jane--Wish I would have gotten into the scrapbooking. I guess I'll wait till I have grandbabies and then start.

Marti--How's the yard work going?

Pink Jane--I gotta hand it to ya for dealing with dh being gone all the time. The only time I'm away from my dh is when I work and when he golfs! Wouldn't have it any other way!!

Sassy--Glad to see that you are feeling better!

Jodi--How's the job going? Any more excitement!!

A big hello to all that I missed. I'm going to a surprise 60th birthday party this evening so that should totally blow my week of eating. Not that I did well at all. With my sis visiting, I ate entirely too much. My son is home for the weekend and hopefully he will take me to the commissary to grocery shop and I can stock up on some fresh fruits and veggies to get myself back on track. Oh, but the week was really yummy!!! I still have this dull ache in my "root canaled" tooth and can't get it looked at until at least Wednesday. But, unfortunately, it has not stopping me from eating! Well I gotta go atttack my closet and see what I can wear this evening. I bought one of those "Lipo in a box" one piece "suck-em-all-in" thingys from QVC and hoping that it will smooth down the 10lbs that I still can't seem to get motiviated to lose. See ya!!

Hi there girls....

Just a quicky to see how you're all doing. How is everyone doing on the weight loss front? Do we have a bunch of losers?? I haven't weighed in since we moved, but found our scale so Monday will see the damage. Eating has not been the best. I really need to concentrate more on what is going into my body!

Treadmill is out in the garage waiting for me to use it. I think I may just find a plug in out there and just walk. Get my legs used to doing that again. My arms have really been getting a workout due to lifting boxes and pulling around furniture! But the darn things are still flappin in the wind-- what's up w/that?

Ok gals....I'm off to clean house. My kitchen is finally looking good....so off to another room.

Have a great weekend.

Hello ladies...

MARTI...hope you are getting some rest in between all the unpacking. Bet your home is purdy though. Can't wait to see pics!

SASSY...glad you are feeling better!

JANE...hate to think of the tax man next year. Hope it wasn't too bad for ya. Taxes here are ridiculous. Karoke with Neal, eh? Bet you guys have fun doing that.

PINKJANE...I do love CSI! Used to watch CSI-Miami but tired of Horatio (David Caruso) and his glances, lol. You are doing great with your workouts! :carrot:

JULES...love the nn Teri-Beri...too cute! Lily is a cute name too! Glad mommy and baby are well. I too am afraid to hold newborns.

TAMMY...I did turn the heat on...it got down to 44 but with the wind it was colder, brrr. I am feeling your pain! Well, almost. I have had a toothache since last Sunday. Being stubborn and deathly afraid of the dentist I have put it off. But told DH if it still bothered me Monday I would make an appt. ugh! Hope your pain eases some. Have fun at the surprise BD party!

Hello everyone, my name is Carol and I am new to the 3FC world. I am just kinda checking everything out. You ladies here seem to have made some really good friends in this forum. I like that.

Well, a little about myself. I am 28. I was born and raised in a small northern Michigan town. I have an 8 year old boy who is my entire world. Currently laid off from work and collecting unemployment. I have a pointer named Sparky, and two cats, Chester and Cheetah.

I need to lose weight. Ever since I was laid off my weight has just kept increasing. Now I have finally got to the point that I AM going to do something about it. I have started exercising (well its more like a stretch routine) and have started walking daily. I have not started the strict dieting yet because I thought I would approach this one step at a time.

I guess I am just looking for some friends who know what I am going through. It is hard for me to get out and exercise, mentally and physically. But I want to change.

You gals seem great and I hope to get to know you all a little better.

thanks for any and all support.:)

Cristina~ Thanks for the nice comments. Yup, they are three years and one day apart. We figured we would do the combined birthday parties until Brandon decides that he doesn’t want to share his birthday party anymore.

Sassy~ Thanks for the congrats! I hope you are feeling better now. I seem to have gotten the “two week virus” that Tommy had. Although mine just started, so besides being tired from not a lot of sleep and chasing the boys around, I am sure that I will be tired from this “virus” that seems to be going around.

Jules~ I am so glad to hear that mommy and baby are doing well. Marissa had her cord wrapped around her neck so when I would have a contraction there would be a deceleration, with a somewhat slow rise after. So, I felt like a fish out of water getting flipped from side to side. And after having to get the epidural three times, I was beyond completely numb so I had to have Tommy and my nurse help me roll from side to side. But I would do it all over again if it meant having her (or the boys).

Tammy~ Thanks for the congrats. She is sleeping soundly, for now, next to me. Let me see if I can find a close up picture of her and put it into my avatar.

We went and walked around this indoor market place on Saturday with my in-law’s. We ended up running into a friend of ours who had her daughter in February. She looked at me and said “I can’t believe you are up and walking around here so quickly. And you don’t even look like you had a baby four days ago.” (So, of course, that made my day!)

Marti~ I hope you are getting some sleep in between all that unpacking! How is the unpacking going by the way?

Carol~ Welcome to the group! I am also from Michigan. Where abouts are you located at? I am in New Baltimore.

Hey I have a question, hope someone can give me a clue.

We refinanced our house in Dec. Because we live in a double wide (sits on 1 acre), we have never been able to do escrow. But the company we went thru hired an engineer to prove that our house was attached to foundation and so I guess it reclassified our home and we were able to get something better than mobile home rates, but just not quite as good as a "real" house. So, in doing that we were able to escrow our taxes and insurance. Of course we had to finish out our insurance policy payments until there was enough money to cover it, so it's been a struggle cause our house payment actually went up from what it was to cover the escrow. When our insurance policy renews in the fall, we will be paying less that we were. Anyhow, that's neither here nor there.....
My question is that our counties property tax rates have went up, from what I am hearing at least a 30% increase. So I am wondering what happens when we don't have enough in escrow to cover it when they send the mortgage company the bill? Will we have to pay the difference? Or will they just start taking out more for that and less will go on our principal?
Our taxes were only like $356/yr because we basically live in the middle of nowhere- lol actually our township has always had the lowest rate in the county. Some people in town are saying that thier tax bill is now over $2000 for a home our size. So glad I live in the country!
Hope someone knows the answer, it's been bugging me since I heard of the rate increase.
Thanks

Evening Ladies!

Jodi--if you have not built up enough in escrow when your tax bill arrives, you may have to pay the difference the first year. After that the bank will take into account the tax rate and will increase your monthly mortgage to reflect what they think your tax rate will be for the following year. Let's say that they estimate your taxes to be about $375 for next year....well they will divide that into 12 payments ($31.75) and add it to your monthly mortgage payments. If they collect too much, it just gets added into your escrow account. Once in a while they actually will lower your payment if you have too much in escrow. Only happened to me once in almost 30 years of being a home owner. Hope this helps!!

Welcome Carol!!!

To everyone else....working in the yard all day and pooped. Heading up to get a hot shower and relax for the evening. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.

I think today is a "Work in Yard" day. We spent the afternoon mowing and weeding and raking. Tired arms.

Moved some things out of the garage and into the storage shed. Really need to go to the recycling place and get rid of all the boxes we went through.

My treadmill is finally IN the house and ready to use. But I think I'll wait until tomorrow night to use it. Too busy today to want to think about it. (great excuse right?)

I'm tuckered out and I think I'm ready to soak in the tub! Can you believe it?? I have a tub!! For those of you who didn't know, the rental we had only had two showers, no tub. That was ok until I wanted to soak. So this will be my first bath in YEARS!:D

Off I go ladies....I will do individuals soon....I promise.

Hugs to you all!

thanks Tammy- that's what I figured, esp since once we can stop paying escrow for the insurance AND the insurance our payment will actually be cheaper between the 3 things, but I figure this whole tax thing will screw that up. Awww a person can never win.
It's been a real strain on us paying for the insurance and the extra payment to build the escrow. We're struggling to keep everything paid, but we only have 2 more months and then we can take 3 months off from insurance. (we have a deal where we pay 9 mths and have 12 mths of coverage) makes it nice when we can look forward to having insurance money as extra cash for those months.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

Mindee-I am from a small town in northern Michigan called Wellston.

It was gorgeous out today. 75 and sunny. We went mushroom hunting. Does anyone else go mushroom hunting???? We didn't find any but it was fun to go and wonder in the woods for a couple of hours.

Thanks again for the welcome.:)

Hello everyone!

We are trucking along, and things are going great! Tomorrow, Monday, will be the true test. Tommy goes back to work, so it will be me and the three little ones at home. I already had a talk with both Brandon and Logan. I told them that since daddy was going back to work, we were going to get back to our normal routine. Meaning that daddy will be at work, so it will be them and mommy and Marissa during the day while daddy is at work. Tommy reinforced that they had to behave for me. He also asked Brandon if he was going to me mommy’s big helper, to which Brandon said he would.

Fast forward to a couple hours later and I swear I had a couple heart attacks! I was getting a diaper to change Marissa and I turn around because I heard him making kissing noises. I turn around and he is sitting on the arm of the couch and holding her in his arms! Yes, I did say holding her! So, we had to explain to him that he couldn’t do that and that he could hurt her. Then we told him that only mommy and daddy can pick her up, and that if he wants to hold her then all he has to do is ask. To which, he then went on to ask every five minutes, but since we were about to eat dinner I told him that he could hold her later.

Jodi~ Sorry I can’t answer your question, but I hope someone can for you!

Marti~ It is good to hear from you!

Sassy~ How did the “early” wake up treat you?

Tammy~ How are you doing??

Carol~ I haven’t heard of that town….so I brought it up on the map to see where it was located. I haven’t been that far up before. I have never been mushroom hunting.

Good Monday morning, ladies,

Ah, Tammy, you crack me up! Lipo in a box, hahahahaha!!!!! I need one of those! So how'd the party go? About scrapbooking, my kids were mostly grown, esp. my son, when I started. So what I did was use the cutest or sweetest photos instead of trying to do so very many. In the beginning, I used the originals. Duh, what a mistake! Now I make doubles of any photo that could possibly make it's way onto a scrapbook page, lol.

Marti - yes, ma'am, count me in on those that are still OP! I've lost 11 pounds in the last 5 weeks, and am going strong. I don't report my weight losses, but I guess I should. I don't like that people irl know about this place, but I suppose they can tell by looking at me how I'm doing, right? So glad to hear your kitchen is organized. That room, and the bedroom, are the most important to have finished, don't you think so? Also glad to hear you can have a good soak now. We put a flat-panel TV in our bathroom, since they don't take up much counter space, and I love soaking and watching some of my favorite shows, lol.

Cristina - our tax rate for the state of Indiana is still in debate as of today. The lawmakers have to be finished by midnight tonight, and we will for sure be seeing a rate hike, just not sure how much. Add that to the fact that I live in a new home, and I'm sure we're going to get slammed! Neal and I do have fun karaoking. I sing here at the house, but not in public. He sings in the bar, as do my sister and her dh. I'm just not that good. I sang one song in the bar, but that was after a couple of beers, lol. Now I try to stick with diet Sprite, lol.

Sassy - hey, could you post that recipe for the mango chicken? Sounds tasty, and healthy, too.

Carol - yes, we are a close-knit, fun bunch here. Welcome to the family! I like your avatar. Is that your DS? What is that on his head? Looks like a humongous spider! Are you close to Houghton Lake? Neal and I may be going there next year to fish. He used to go all the time before we married, but I've never gone. Again, welcome!

Mindee - I love your new avatar, too. How's your first day w/o Tommy home? Bet the boys are being your little helpers.

Jodi - I think Tammy is correct about the taxes, but I'd call the mortgage company to be sure. I haven't heard the news today yet, so I don't know if the property taxes got raised the proposed 24%, or not. Sheesh, I hope not!

Jules - how's the mama and baby doing? Did you get to see him yet?

Hello to everyone else reading this.

Ladies, I have to say I love all the cut flowers so far! In bloom right now are daisies, purple veronica, statis, and azaleas. What beautiful bouquets they make! The rhododendrons and irises will be looking good by Mother's Day.

Two more days until I get to meet Jackson. :carrot:

Have a good one, ladies!

Well I was able to go online and see what our property taxes are for this year. They only went up $37.80! I couldn't believe it. Says something for living in the middle of nowhere- lol. My one brother in law lives 5 miles from us, but must be in another township because his looks like it went up $400- over $1,000!!! But my other b-in-law it looks like his doubled! Makes no sense at all.
thanks for the info, it helped set my mind at ease yesterday when I was thinking about it all!

Hey Everybody!

The Chicken Mango Salad is from Qdoba (http://www.qdoba.com/Default.aspx) Here is a description of it from their website:

"Qdoba Mexican Grill Goes Tropical; Introduces Chicken Mango Salad

When the heat is on, Qdoba Mexican Grill knows customers search for lighter fare, and the Chicken Mango Salad will hit the spot. It recently was introduced into select locations in Colorado and Florida as a test item for the growing franchise.

The new item blends Qdoba’s tropical mango salsa with a tangy lime vinaigrette dressing over shredded romaine lettuce and their signature adobo chicken. The salad is presented in a crispy tortilla bowl served with cheese and sour cream. The menu item, like all of Qdoba’s options, are not pre-made and can be customized to fit any guests liking. The tropical mango salsa is made in the restaurant and customers can request to have their Chicken Mango Salad naked, without the bowl. The price of the Chicken Mango Salad is $ 5.99 in most locations..............."

All the flavors just go so well together! The lime vinagrette dressing is awesome! And as it says you can customize it however you want it, they make it right there in front of you, just like Subway, only this is SouthWest/Mexican.

Yesterday I had a Dublin Salad: Dublin Salad
A seasoned grilled chicken breast, sliced and served on a bed of European field greens. Sprinkled with pine nuts, sun-dried tomatoes and goat cheese. Served with a tarragon dijon dressing.

It was SO HUGE! I didn't even make a dent in it, but it was SOOOOOOo good and I felt so much better after eating it instead of junk!!!!! :carrot:

Hoping your all having a wonderful :sunny: Monday!

Hello ladies..
First I have to say Mindee, Congratulations. I was so thrilled to read that Marissa is here and all is well. She is a DOLLBABY. Glad you are feeling okay and hope the boys were big helps for you today. (did you get any rest at all?)

Things here have been hectic and life has kept me away. I just got in a funk and didn't want to bring it here. Slowly getting myself over that hump....
We have been landscaping some, still have so much to do. I am waiting for the house to be power washed so I can wash windows and we can do the foundation landscaping. I was able to save lots of wildflowers, which I am happy about. I wanted some of the natural look.
Started BACK to walking yesterday and again today. (though it was 85 degrees at 8p.m. when we walked) Even did a bike ride yesterday. So, here I am trying again.
Have to go for blood work in the a.m. and groceries after. Hopefully I can buy some more plants and continue on that job. :)

Marti- Glad to hear that you are moved and alive and well. You will have to tell us more about yuor house.

Jane- Wow...you are doing so well and have accomplished so much. We need to see a pic. of those flowers. I planted 2 peony bushes and they are already looking so good. I love my wildflowers too.

Jodi- We are not anxious to see our tax bill..and actually might not even get one until next year. We aren't sure...but have heard they are going up. Our area had an increase last year too. (on the old house) Ugh!

Carol- Hello and Welcome. I am sure you will like it here. Everyone is super!

Tammy- That yardwork is quite a workout isn't it? After my first day of it my legs were sore from getting up and down. We have so much more to do....we put mulch and plants around 9 trees plus an area in front of the porch. Haven't even done around the house yet although we did plant a wildflower garden on one side of the yard shed and peonies on the other side. Mom put tomato and pepper plants in back of the shed. Hope you got to relax after your shower...:)

Sassy- That chicken sounds good...yum! Hi to you.

Jules, Cristina, and other JL's...Hi and hope you are doing well.

I am trying to read and catch up.

Sue- I was so scared to see my tax bill, but mine wasn't that bad. We put our home on 3/4 of an acre- 10 yrs ago. We do have some neighbors, but to the front and back of us are fields. At the time we bought this, the land was a little less than 1/2 of what the house cost! We live in what is still considered a farming county, and now when they sell acreage, it goes for about double what we paid just 10 yrs ago.
I hear tell of people around here and in nearby towns having to put thier homes up for sale because they can't afford the tax bill. But if they can't afford it, who is going to buy it? And from what I hear also is that this area has the highest foreclosure rate in the state!
