Good Morning Chicks! I slept until 7:15 which was so late for me. I didn't get a nap yesterday after getting crummy sleep the night before.
The bad news is that I have no time to catch up now. I have to get ready to go to WW and run errands. I'll be back later to catch up.
When does Rhonda come home? And, Frouf?
Let's work on our healthy 8's this week everyone.

Happy Monday everyone. What a glorious weekend -- in the northeast we went from non stop Nor'easters to summer. Saturday was sunny and close to 70, yesterday was sunny and close to 80. Today its supposed to get well into the 80s. I pulled out shorts and a tshirt yesterday. Its nice that they still fit from last summer - I've been feeling extra heavy lately (again, letting the #s on a scale mess with my head). So it was a boost to have them fit. I even pulled out a bathing suit that I wore the first summer after I hit goal (2005) but did not dare wear last summer. Its one piece but the sides are cut out so from the back it looks like a bikini. I tried it on over the weekend thinking it would be good motivation to stick to plan. It wasn't great looking, but not as bad as I thought it would be. I do need some toning!
We spent all day yesterday in the yard - transplanted alot of things from my sisters yard to ours - raspberries, tiger lillies, lilly of the valley, bee balm and some yellow flowers (she couldnt remember the names). Then we cleaned out the lilac bushes and general clean up. Of course I didn't even think about sun screen for Sarah, her cheeks were a bit red last night, but normal today. She got into a patch of posion ivy at my sisters -- she immediatly took her in and washed her up. So, now I'm checking her for a rash. Neither Jim or I are really allergic to it, but that is no guarantee she won't be and I would rather not find out :)
Elana - congrats on the loss! I hope the "official" wi is just as great.
Vickie - my hair appt was wonderful on saturday. Just a cut this time, next appt is a color - I do schedule my appts every 6 weeks. Means too much to me and its really the only regular thing I spoil myself with. Sarah came with me this time and she had her bangs trimmed - she was thrilled to be at the "big" salon.
Angela - how is your voice today? I think Sarah would be very happy if I lost mine. When I do have to yell at her she gets upset that I yelled - of course she doesn't understand that I need to raise my voice to get her attention at times. OH well, she's 4.
Nancy - are you writing a book? What is it about? It sounded like you have a nice weekend with dd. My dd brings up ear pierecing - I just need to tell her it hurts and she is off the subject. I'm planning on holding out until 13 -- or when she can take care of them herself. Oh, the things to come!
Tech - contrats on biking to work. That should off set the non-core foods.
Well, I'm going to post a new recipe - not 100% core. It is a thia peanut noodle dish - the non core item is peanut butter. I put in alot less than it called for an could have done even less. But its very, very good. I'll post it as written then add my modifications. I have a couple of others I'll post after I try them.
BBL.

Good Morning ladies, sorry I have been MIA, there is this nasty virus that does not want to leave my children alone :yikes: . DD now has it and has been running a fever and today she is just feeling crummy and coughing. A lot of the neighborhood kids also have or had it, so it is in the school. I am doing well op, my scale is still down :yay: The weather here is is gorgeous, we did some gardening yesterday so hopefully that will do well and thrive.
I will try to catch up if I get a moment, hope everybody has a great op day!

Morning ladies. My voice is getting slightly better, but I still feel pretty cruddy, with a pretty massive head cold to boot.
But, I am going to eat well despite the cold and TOM lurking, I swear it!
It's beautifully warm here today, although rainy. The trees are blooming and budding like crazy, which makes me grateful I have some allergy meds. I think we need to plant our peas, radishes, and lettuce soon to get those early crops in.
Lots of errands to run today, phone calls to make, etc. Life just keeps on going, no matter how you feel, doesn't it?
So Melissa, any symptoms yet that you've been noticing? I always noticed cramping and fatigue first, before any nausea. Be sure to keep us informed.
Later,
Angela

Time to run errands.

New at Core. This is my 4th day. I know there are 35 points that we can use during the week. Do the Activity Points add to these on Core? I guess I need to sit down and read everything again, because I sure don't feel confident in what I'm doing. I weigh in on Thursday.
Thanks for any help!!

It's my understanding that you can swap Activity Points for non-Core food same day only (i.e., today I ate 2 granola bars--4 points; I have a 4 pt. very intense Boot Camp class tonight--so it will cancel out).
This is what the regional leader/manager told me when I had my 1st orientation to Core.
Good luck!

Hey chickies - I'm back home - and so happy to be back! (altho the Falls were gorgeous as was the weather!)
The true definition of torture: to sit on a moving bus for 6 hours (at night) with about 30 screaming and giggling girls as you try to sleep! No wonder I have a headache this morning.
Niagara Falls was beautiful - altho the falls looked 'smaller' than I remember them from 30 years ago? ha ha ha. Hopefully got some great pics on the new camera - just need to figure out how to download them now. Unfortunately the Maid of the Mist (and other tours) were not running yet - guess it's too early in the season? But I did convince dd to walk along the falls with me BEFORE doing any of that cheesy stuff (yes she and I did visit 'Ripley's Believe it or not Museum - quite interesting!). Had dinners at the Hard Rock Cafe, the Rainforest Cafe, Planet Hollywood - and all other very high priced eateries in NF :D
The competition was very exciting - but so long and grueling - I don't know how the judges sit there day after day, hour after hour watching these talented kids dance! They can't possibly be paid enuf.
DD did pretty well - 3 dynamic (high) golds, 1 gold, placed 2nd and 3rd in some category - her dance jacket is bedecked with ribbons and she has 2 medals - walking around just like an olympic athlete. You should have seen these kids strutting around covered in ribbons - and I tell you some of these kids are in like 20 dances over the weekend - I don't know how they do it (and I am further curious as to how the parents can afford all of it!)
The most exciting part was sat night during the 'Bond' tap number ( an amazing number by the way) - the hotel FIRE ALARM goes off (complete w/flashing strobe lights) - it was too funny - first people thought it was part of the music - then they yell stop dancing (yes the girls were taught continue dancing no matter what!) - everyone remain calm - ya right - we were told to stay in the room (recorded message) and I understand fire trucks and paramedics pulled up outside and it was quite the scene - we were already about 1 hr behind in the competition and this only made it worse.
Finally said it was a false alarm (like 40 mins later?) - and on with the show - they also had the last dance on sat night as well - followed by adjudication which took place around 12:30 am! Then out for a snack cuz we were hungry.
By sunday we (moms?) had all had enuf - girls had a couple more dances sunday night - then loaded up the bus - left NF at 8:30 pm arriving in ottawa around 3 am! not a pleasant trip and I can now see I am not an 'overnight/sitting up' kind of a sleeper! Not a good sign for those europe overnight flights?
Just doing laundry and unpacking - I am already dreading the next competition (2 weeks) altho it is in town which is so much easier. Then off to Brockville 4 weeks later!
Poor dd had to wake up this morning as she had a school performance of her musical at 11 am! She is also performing wed/thurs/fri/sat nights - so there goes my week - guess where I'll be? :D
Dread going back to work tomorrow - not only will I have to plow thru the emails and messages but if I remember correctly I am supposed to be busy all day doing user acceptance testing on my database enhancements (remember my crappy constantly problematic database? ya it's still being fixed!).
At least it's warm and sunny here and we have some windows open for fresh air!
Will try to catch up will all of you and hope you are all fine and well in the meantime!

Hi chickies! It's been a rough afternoon. My doctor called this afternoon and told me that my blood work confirms that I am pregnant but that my progesterone levels are a little low. I got some progesterone suppositories :p that I have to use every night. She said it will help the placenta to develop and attach properly.
I did some online research and it seems like most who take this route have healthy pregnancies, but it is still really bothering me of course.
Angela, thanks for asking. Mainly I am tired, have to pee every hour, and am very gassy! :o I had some very bad nausea a week or two ago but now I'm just feeling icky.

Thanks for the info Elanjel!! I'll just keep learning as I do this.
Septembersgoal, I also had low progesterone levels many years ago and did the suppositories. We have a very healthy 19 year old college student because of that. Best wishes to you.

Well went to weigh in tonight. And it wasnt good. Gained 3 lbs. So now have to work extra hard this week to get that off. I do know some has to do with salt. So will have to drink more water.
How is everyone doing. Hope everyone has had a great day. It was nice here. Tried to rain some their earlier. but not now. But said we may get some rain tonight. Hope no storms though.
FROUFY glad you had a good time.
ONTARGET how are you doing.
VICKIE Did you get everything worked out with the fence. Hope so. Good for staying the same. Next week the scales will be down for the both of us.

frouf, sounds like you and dd had some good bonding time. makes me smile.
vickie and coco, i prob have a gain this week, too. i'm afraid to step on the scales.

Welcome back Frouf - sounds like a looong weekend. I hope dd really loves dancing - not only for her to continue this schedule, but to subject you to it as well. I can only hope that Sarah finds something that she has a talent for and loves. So far I know she won't be a gymnast. She is doing well for her first year, but she is too tall and lanky. I think next year well add a dance class as well. She will actually have dance classes at summer camp.
Melissa, don't worry about the gassy feeling. As your pregnancy progresses there will be all kinds of "wonderful" things that will happen ;) By the time you are holding your baby, any bit of modesty you have today will be out the window. But it is all worth it!
Today is going to be a busy day - I have a list of errands to run and I have to vacuum the upstairs. I must say my new dyson really "sucks". What a huge differnce in my rugs -- I can't believe our dog has any fur left on his body, i swear I've vacuumed it all up :)
Food wise, I'm doing OK, scale is up a bit as TOM is here. Tomorrow is day 1 of our new at work session. I don't think we have 20 to get the 17 week special, but definaly the 12 weeks. I was hoping for the 17 weeks as on linetools are included. I had a trial membership and I did use them -- I don't think its worth paying but I'll use them if they are free.....
Well, got to get moving and into the shower. BBL

Good Morning All:
Well, we had a great trip to Philly and Gettysburg. I've been to Philadelphia a few times, so that wasn't new to me, but I still enjoy going. We splurged on Philly Cheese Steak, and I could eat only half of it, and didn't like it too much.
We went to the King Tut exhibit, which I had seen in Toronto, in the late 70's I believe it was. It's an impressive exhibit, of course, and worth seeing if you get a chance.
The trip to Gettysburg was my first, and I'm glad we went. We did the self-guided car tour, with narration from a CD. We ate in an old tavern, and I didn't have too much trouble containing my food intake.
We're back in Toronto with DH's daughter and grandson with us until Saturday. The grandson is 18-months-old and so precious. He's very calm and happy. We were all tested when we couldn't land in Toronto because there was a thunderstorm right over the airport. We had to go to Buffalo and wait while the storm passed over both Toronto and Buffalo. We arrived in Toronto safely, about 5 hours late.
It was all very dramatic, but not nearly as life-threatening as the drive home from the aiport. I HATE the traffic here. It is heavy, crazy and non-stop.
But, even then, when DH and family wanted to stop for Chicken Nuggets, I did and I ate only 3 of them. Not bad, not bad at all (the restraint, not the chicken!!).
Anyway, I'm glad to be home and have a full week ahead. I've read all the posts but won't respond individually. But, Frouf, you are a trouper! Good for you for doing all that for your daughter. I danced from the time I was 7 until I was 20. It's such an exciting and wonderful thing to do; you'll get your reward in heaven because there's not any big enough here on earth!

Good Morning Chicks! I had a busy day yesterday and another planned for today. I'm interviewing house cleaning services. I'm a little nervous about the two coming today. Apparently, neither of the women speaks english. I don't mind if the english is limited but none is going to make it difficult. My big fear is how to do they know which product to use if they can't read english. Anywhooooo......the fence repairs are being done as we speak. They didn't even ask if it was ok to do it today. Fortunately, I'm not leaving the house today as far as I know.
I'm off to call the Cardiologist to see if I can get new medicine that won't keep making the lump in my throat.

Good for you for doing all that for your daughter. I danced from the time I was 7 until I was 20. It's such an exciting and wonderful thing to do; you'll get your reward in heaven because there's not any big enough here on earth!
Welcome back Rhonda- and thanks so much for your comment above - it really made me break down and cry - I don't think anyone really understands what it is to be a dancing mom (Paula - take note!) - and I know even dd won't appreciate all of this until she is much older (and hopefully wiser?)
What an exciting ride home? But glad you finally made it home safe and sound (and after driving thru those 6 lanes of traffic in Toronto I am very glad I don't live there and have to do that constantly!)
And yes she does love dancing - and I know it is good for her both physically and mentally altho it is very expensive and I do REMIND her of this - even on the bus back some of the older /university-bound girls were talking about whether they could AFFORD to continue or not - they really wanted to but were not sure about the $$.
Vickie $90 sounds like the competitive rate around here- I pay $100 for 2 people x 3 hours - so also 6 hours - twice a month. And yes I agree some basic english would be nice? Let us know how the 'sign' language interviews go!
Glad the fence problem is resolved - I did not read back last week - so forgive me for not 'reading back'- but was the throat problem caused by some medication reaction? Hope the dr can figure it out for you!
Melissa- hope you are doing okay - and yes you will have several new and exciting 'feelings' coming your way - enjoy them as much as you can!
I am home with a very sick dd today - throwing up from 3-5 am- still not doing that well- couldn't keep anything down (not even the gravol!)- went out and got some gingerale, gatorade and popsicles -she managed to keep down 1 popsicle and is back in bed now- needless to say I am pretty tired myself and may indulge in a nap as well.
Luckily the 'user acceptance testing' for my crappy database which was scheduled for today - is delayed til tomorrow so I was able to stay home!
Guess she won't be going to dance class tonight? She is in her school musical wed-sat nights so MUST get better fast. I am walking around the house with some lysol wipes disinfecting everything to make sure no one else gets sick!

Okay chickies - I am ready to confess how crappy I have been feeling over the past few weeks - have been trying to hang in but it's been way too hard.
I have lost my 'oomph'! I don't know what is wrong with me - but I just don't want to do anything! Don't want to go to work or get up, shower and get dressed for that matter - everything seems so hard to do. Don't want to cook, eat properly, exercise - just turn into a big blob and do nothing!
What is wrong with me? I feel like I have lost my will to live? (I know that sounds drastic but that does describe it).
Now I have a dr appt this afternoon - for a bp check and I know I SHOULD tell her how I'm feeling - but part of me is so embarrassed to be sound so helpless and needy - I am after all known to be somewhat of a 'superwoman' and that is what is expected of me and how people see me - so I am trying to keep up the 'charade' but it's getting harder and harder to do. I think I need pills or something to make me feel better? What do you think?:?:

Frouf, ok....I'm alarmed! I just got on for a moment and read your post. PLEASE, PLEASE, dear friend, tell your doctor how you are feeling. And, don't downplay it because they need to know just how deep in a funk you are. There is medicine to make you feel better. We are in the prime of our life and should really be enjoying ourselves. You are describing classic depression symptoms. I'm worried about you and feel very sad that you feel this way.

Tell her Frouf...nothing to be embarassed about. As women we tend to think we can do it all and think of ourselves last. My best friend is on anti-depressents,,she says it made all the difference in the world to her. This winter I noticed you were taking alot of time off and I wondered then if this was happening to you. Im sorry for not asking you then....((Frouf))
Vickie dont you find bad news comes in threes....I hope this is the last thing for quite awhile for you. I hope your new meds help with the throat thing.
Sandra,,can you hear me crack that whip.........haha
Welcome tiki!!
Well Im heading out for a good walk this afternoon with my best friend. Im slowly getting her out walking too..(see Sandra I can crack that whip) Tomorrow is my last day for work and then Im heading out of town on friday not sure if its for one or two nights but it will be fun. We are going to a concert *America* a band from longgg ago. We are taking in a swimming event for my bf's brother..hes trying out for the special Olympics. I cant wait to see him swim. He is autistic and has an incredible memory. He has known me and my brothers since we were little kids and always reminds of something that happened when i was a todder...amazing!
Today I cleaned out my closet and THREW AWAY clothes that dont fit anymore..thats it. I also FOUND clothes that do fit now. It was like discovering a new wardrobe. love it. I have to buy shorts and t-shirts though...omg the old ones looked like clown pants..
I better get going..ttyl

No time to read -- busy day at work. Just wanted to stop by to let you all know I signed up for the 17 week At work session. we get the free etools along with it! Hi Again:
Yes, Paula, you WILL do it. That's funny about not wanting to be told but peeking anyway!
Frouf, OK, talk to your doctor and re-evaluate what you're doing. Depression is often a product of negative self-evaluation and self-talk. If you could find a therapist who is skillful in cognitive-behavioural therapy, you might get assistance there also. That approach to therapy has been found to be as effective as medication, but it really takes someone who is skilled. I know people in Toronto, but not in Ottawa. (This is not an anti-drug speech from me, but do be careful about serotonin uptake inhibitors. Some of the older medications are actually better, reliable, well-tested, etc.)
You're not alone in this, although it probably feels that way at times. You can't do it all, shouldn't do it all...leave something for others to do!!
I've stayed home to be with DH and company. I took the grandson to a local park and around the neighborhood. I brought him home after a few hours, and everyone took a nap! Everyone but me that is. I should have gone to the office!!
I can't believe I wrote DIL, since she is really my step-daughter. It's only been 5 months, so I'm not used to all the new relationships!
I've been controlling my eating fairly well. BUT, of course THEY all went shopping and there are more chips, cookies and yuck in this house than have been here for years. It is hard to stay away from, but I'm determined! Wish me luck.

Good afternoon ladies, I have been busy, kids are finally starting to feel better. The weather has been wonderful, except now it is raining. I had about
5 neighborhood kids in my yard after school yesterday, seems they all want to hang out at my house, hmmm I wonder if it has anything to do with our big swing set that has a six foot slide and a fort and a rock wall & net :D :D , it is great they had a blast. Hey everyone keep your fingers crossed, dh went on a job interview with a different company which is offering more money, and room to grow. He is so unhappy at his present job, got 1 raise in seven years and absolutely no room to grow, the cost of living goes up every year but his salary stays the same. I have been doing well op, my scale is down 3 pounds from last week.
Froufy you definitely should mention this to your doctor. A funk should not last that long, it does sound like you may be a little depressed. I also understand about feeling like superwoman I take on more than I should all the time and it sometimes gets me down.
Patti so happy to hear your clothes are way too big, I can't wait to get to that point, I do feel some bagginess.

Thanks to everyone for their encouragement and concern - I did 'practice' what I was going to say to the dr (had to pretend I was talking about someone else or I felt I would just break down!) - and when I got into the examining room to wait and saw the NEW poster/sign about depression and all the symptoms (most of which I had) I knew I had to say something.
She was very concerned and asked lots of questions about work/family etc and prescribed a low dosage of an anti-depressant - I am a bit leary about taking but I know I should try....and yes Rhonda I think I shall have a look around for a therapist and see what I can find - thanks for the advice.
Dh a bit perturbed with the 'diagnosis' and already asking when I will be off the meds (and I have not even taken the first dose yet!) - he had a bad experience years ago with a quack psychiatrist and some meds so is very fearful of me turning into a zombie!
Anyhow I shall give it a try - I have to do something as I just can't go on feeling like this - I do know that it will take a few weeks to kick in!
Patti - congrats on the 'new' wardrobe - maybe time for a little more shopping as well? Have fun on your weekend away!
Niki - congrats on the fabulous loss - you go girl!
Vickie - what's the good news on the leak?
Coco - hope your tummy feels better soon!
Paula - good job on rejoining - you sound bound and determined to get those lbs off - I know you can and will do it!
And a special :welcome2: to Tiki - please jump in whenver you can and join in the chat - sounds like so far you are doing great on Core!

Frouf, I hope you forge ahead and follow the advice of your physician. Some of the new medicine has really helped at least two people that I know. They were not zombies! It could be a really wonderful step for you.
The plumber says the vents in my 4 year old roof are what is leaking. So....we've called a roofer. The sprinklers guys came back last night and can't get our system working. They'll be back today. I'm not enjoying being a home owner right now.
I'm up in the middle of the night......again. I think I'm having some side effects from my new BP medicine. It really is trial and error...unfortunately.

Thanks for the warm welcome ladies :)
Frouf I'm glad you said something to your Dr. After the birth of my second child I felt the same way and spoke with my Dr. I feel a lot better now and I didnt have to continue taking anything.I started exercising and losing weight and I feel alot better.Wish you luck!
Vickie -when it rains it pours sometimes! Hope you can get everything fixed at minimal cost.
Niki- I wish you luck with Dh's interview sounds promising! :::sending good vibes!::: :) Sounds like your yard in the "in" place to hang out! lol
Paula- I can totally relate I just moved to this area and decided I wanted to go back to meetings again, mainly cause I'm a SAHM and I would like to get out of the house for a bit lol but anyways my wi is saturday and I do no want to see what thursday has to say quite yet I will weigh in at home and then start going to meeting the following week. But knowing me I will probably look! But congrats for getting back in the groove of things I'm sure you will meet your goals! :)
Coco- feel better!!
Patti- I love America lol Have fun! sounds like a blast.throwing out old clothes is great I have many to do as well, also finding clothes works too! I recently went shopping and had so much fun being out of the huge plus sizes I got a size 16 jeans (that unfortunately is already too big :( should have waited 5 more pounds ) and I was like wow its been years that shopping felt so good ya know?
I'm off to get the dd ready for preschool and then me and the baby are heading to ww.I hope I like this leader!
Again thanks for the welcome guys! :)

Morning all, just stopping in before I finish getting ready for work. I did great op yesterday. I had a nice bowl of frozen fruit for a snack last night - that is my downfall lately. Bad snacking after 8:00. One day at a time!
Hi Tiki and Welcome!!! How old are your kids? My dd is 4 and the joy of our lives. Where in MA are you? We are on the south shore.
Niki, we have a similar swing set - not net or rock wall. The next door girls do love to come over and play. Congrats on the great loss!!!
Frouf, glad to hear what the dr had to say. I agree on finding someone to talk to. After we lost our son, i went into a deep depression. Talking about things really helped me get out of it. There is no shame in needing help - the alternative is too bleek! I hope the meds start to help you
feel better soon. Did the Dr say how long it should take to feel a difference?
Well, got to get moving, i'll check back later.

Morning ladies.
Vickie, it's weird! I read your 4 year old roof is leaking; so is mine! We built our house 4 years ago, and the roof just started leaking about a month ago, any time it rains hard. We finally had a roofing guy out yesterday to look at it, and best news is, it'll take a $5 tube of sealant to fix, and we can do it ourselves! I even clambered up on the roof with him (in the rain no less) so I could see where the problem was. (Dh would have, but I told him not to - he was wearing his nice work slacks.) Anyway, it seems that in one of the places where different roof sections meet, a tiny square of roof was not covered by shingles. The contractor thought that was where the problem was, because he said the flashings around our vents and skylights looked fine. I really hope that's all it takes to fix the problem, because I'm tired of having a bucket in my kitchen to catch the drip coming from my light can or speaker.
I still feel cruddy - have been hit by a massive cold. I was up half the night coughing, and am so worn down and exhausted. Luckily, dd goes to preschool this morning, and I may try to nap then.
Well, gotta get the muchkins ready for school.
Later,
Angela

Eat rubbish...feel rubbish, as a wise chick in the Maintenance forum says.
I went grocery shopping while hungry today. We all know what a huge mistake that is! Came home w/Barbara's whole wheat fig bars (well, not so bad), whole grain graham crackers (well, not so bad), a tub of hummus (my downfall!)  and a bag of mini candy bars (i.e., the mini 3 Musketeers, etc.) DD asked to have milk chocolate around the house and I figure an occasional treat for her is worse than the "this is always forbidden" mentality, which ultimately leads to eating disorders.:(
In any case, since I was unpacking groceries around 11:30, and had carelessly skipped breakfast, I wasn't exactly restrained in what I ate--both in the unpacking and in what I finally had for lunch! My triumph: only 1 serving of hummus and it went straight back the fridge.
All in all, it could have been worse. I went to Turbo Kick class last night and I'm doing the climbing wall at the YMCA tonight.:strong:
Still, I ask that people write back and tell me to do the right thing:
1. eat breakfast
2. DO NOT shop while hungry
3. Don't buy crap if I don't want to eat it (the chocolate should be fine--I'm not much of a candy eater).
Argh...

Hi Gina and welcome - looks like you have done a FANTASTIC job on WW and will continue to do so! Please feel free to join in whenever you can.
So am I supposed to climb up on my 8 yr old roof and start looking for leaks? I guess they would leak into our very high attic area first before we would even notice anything on the second level! Good luck Vickie - hope it is only the matter of a sealant like Angela mentioned.
Angela - sorry you are not feeling well - sure hope you were able to get that nap in!
...and did someone ask about the NEXT CHALLENGE?;) :D Are you all ready for Lose 2 Cruise 2?:carrot: This will be a longer challenge - 21 weeks - maybe starting May 1st? What do you think?
So going out for dinner w/gf tonight prior to watching dd in that big broadway hit musical "Zombie Prom' (http://www.geocities.com/zombieprombie/story.html) - can't wait! (and I get to see it again sat night - yippee!).
And have yet to complete my income tax - due april 30th - I think dh is working on his now (he owes $$) - and I sure hope I am getting some back!

I was not crazy about the leader. She was so dry,but the people were nice so we'll see if I go to that meeting again.I overheard a woman saying she was going to this leader now cause the other one wasnt motivating her anymore,I'm wondering if the other leader has a pulse if she found this one motivating LOL I guess everyone has different styles. Also when the women were talking(which they were all eager to do and share) this leader seemed kinda like "oh" almost like she thought these women were ruining her meeting, like she had a set way she wanted to do things.Really awful vibe from her, receptionist was so rude but I can deal with that, very upset I did not have 50 cents on me and no change in her drawer.I Kept wondering if that was my problem lol I declined her offer of a bag for my product out of fear LOL The leader spoke so loud, think she thought she was in a stadium,I left with a headache.

I do have a core Hummus recipe:)
I take a can of chickpeas and mash them with a potatoe hand masher.
Add the juice from 1 whole lemon (or more to taste)
I use 1 tsp evo
and a bunch of garlic( try placeing the garlic bulbs in a bowl with water and microwave for a minutes or two) when they are mushy I just squeeze it out into the mixtue.
I really enjoy this:carrot:

Rhonda - good job on only 2 cookies - I know how hard it is to stay on track when you have company and extra food all over the place!
Patti - have a great weekend - and congrats on the loss - way to go!
Elana - definitely have a snack or eat something before going grocery shopping - i too have fallen into that trap - sometimes I will try and eat an apple or banana in the car on the way home to try to stop any pending feeding frenzy once I unpack the groceries!
Tiki - that leader does sound boring (so I too wonder how 'bad' the other leader was?) - but maybe things will improve? At least the ladies in the group sounded nice and were willing to 'share' (assuming they will still be 'allowed' to do so?)
Went out for dinner w/gf and dh and little ds joined us - chicken rotisserie place - stuffed my little face and then off to the show!
I can not even tell you how much I enjoyed it - the kids were absolutely positively amazing (okay I was expecting this cheesy amateur high school production and what I saw was an almost professional off broadway like show!).
The lead girl must try out for Canadian Idol - she had the most beautiful voice! The only weakness was the male lead who could not sing and barely act - the rest of the cast - esp the girl cast in the school principal role was outstanding - what stage presence (what dd called a 'triple threat': she can sing, dance and act) - she literally stole the show.
Dd was fabulous - she is a 'dancer' altho she also has a bit part as a 'secretary' - her faces and expressions are hysterical - and in the beginning she and the other dancers come on the stage dressed as zombies with crazy hair and zombie makeup - well here I am sitting in the front row no less - and when I see her I just BURST OUT LAUGHING very loudly of course- she was so funny looking.
I couldn't help myself - she of course heard me - I got 'reprimanded' after - Mom I could hear you laughing - how did you know it was me? I know your loud annoying laugh! but you were so funny - but you're not supposed to laugh so loud - and then you were making me smile and I"m not supposed to be a smiling zombie! too funny
Dh gone to drive my gf home (it's starting to rain) - looks like he is trying to do his taxes (desk COVERED in paperwork and the calculator is out - need I say more?). Guess I shall have to start gathering my stuff and there goes my weekend! I am looking forward to see the play again sat night- this time w/dh (who will complain thru the whole thing) and both ds'.
And hopefully my van will be ready tomorrow - turns out my old tires are worn out - so instead of switching from winter to originals I am getting a BRAND NEW set of tires (according to dh and the mechanic guy) - ya so I probably need them but was not planning on spending anothe $600 right now?
My back is hurting me today and I am hobbling around a bit - maybe I shall take a muscle relaxant before bed and hopefully it will be better in the morning!
my birdhouses shipped today and are to arrive may 1. here's the waterfall. it's tiny, but it's all mine. i potted the plants today and am now waiting for them to grow. (wish the waterfall would grow.)

Good Morning Chicks! At least I got 6 hours sleep last night. My eating is ok but no exercise. I've just got to continue dealing with the medical issues. All I keep saying is that I just want to be on program and exercise and not have any medical issues. Apparently, wishing it to be so and saying I want it to be has no impact.
The throat is the same but I'm on a new med and have a follow up appointment with the Cardiologist. I'm having some new side effects. The chemical approach is not without its drawbacks.
I love seeing all the newbies and I look forward to getting back here to concentrate on my program full time. In the meantime, I continue to be as good as I can and stay connected with all of you. I'm proud that I'm not really doing much stress eating right now.
I'll be back to check on all of you later.

Sandra, I love the waterfall and the birdhouses. Too cute! I'd love to have a water feature in my yard, but unfortunately, my girls would love it too. :) My middle dd especially is drawn to water. She even fell in the fountain at the mall once. Maybe when they're grown and moved on, then I can have one.
I'm thinking I have developed bronchitis, which I've never had before. I know they say it'll go away on it's own. We'll see. I am currenly uninsured (policy starts May 1) so I guess that's all I CAN do. Good thing I'm generally healthy. I am going to call my brother (medical school resident) and see what he thinks though. If I really do need meds, I'll get them.
I'm hoping it'll be sunny today. It seems like it's been grey and rainy forever. My sump pump is working pretty much constantly here, and there's standing water in everyone's yards. Guess we can't complain of drought.
Off to start my day.

I introduced my girls to Cream of Wheat this morning,Was actually shocked my 3yr old wanted to try it.Back in the day I use to make this with cinnamin, nutmeg, and brown sugar.I made it with spenda instead. Was really good with some sliced bananas.I set aside some for the baby without the spenda.after about 10 bites dd did not want anymore,I was telling her it was poridge like in Goldilocks lolol think that why she wanted some.Baby wasnt crazy about it either, though I think it was a more of a texture thing for her.
I have so much to do today I could cry.I have to totally clean my house from top to bottom. We usualkly do a good cleaning on the weekend but last weekend we spent outside it was so nice out.So Another busy weekend So i would like to do the cleaning today so its one less thing I do on the weekend. Its going to be hard,my lil one is teething and really clingy-bought her some teething tablets so many people swear by them not sure if its doing the job tho.I just hate to give her motrin or tylenol everyday but if she needs it I will.

Good morning ladies, hope everyone is doing well. I woke up this morning to a thunderstorm so it is going to be a gloomy day. I do have a friend who has a son My dd age coming over for lunch, I will make us a nice sald with tuna & hardboiled egg, yummy. I met this friend when I was Pregnant with dd on a message board for ladies due August 2003. We started chatting then we realized we only live 15 minutes away and finally met, so we have been friends now for 4 years. Yesterday at ds's school they had "The Amazing Race", all first graders and one parent each raced against each other to do tasks & solve puzzles, they had so much fun they even had check points with flags to retrieve their next clue like the real amazing race, it was really well done. I have been pretty sore for the past two days, I think I over did it on cleaning my front yard, we have two big bushes in front of my house, and underneath them there are piles of leaves. It is hard to get under them to rake the leaves, but I was able to do one the other day and I will try for the second tomorrow, it sure is alot of back breaking work.
Froufy I thought part of being a parent was to embarrass our children, that is why I signed up! :D :D
Vickie I hope you are feeling better real soon. How is your fence and are your sprinkleres working. Isn't it fun being a home owner, one bill after the other.
Patti I love "america", last concert I saw was Bon Jovi(OOhh la la):D. You are doing so great, congrats on the loss. I went to the library and took out Dr. Oz's book You On A Diet, now I just have to find a minute to read.
Sandra I love your waterfall, your plants look very healthy & those bird houses are too cute.
Angela I hope you are feeling better
tiki where did you go bootcamp ww, the leader sounds like a sargeant(sp)LOL :D
Gina isn't it great when you can pass good eating habits to your kids, I try to make my kids snack on fruit, but my dd is addicted to cheetos. Kids are funny with texture, I love mash potatoes and both my kids gag, they don't like the texture.
I hope I didn't forget anyone, hello to all!

TGIF!!
Hope everyone is doing well. I'm doing well OP - so far so good. :carrot: Its cold and raining today. Hopefully it will clear out for the weekend. I need to cook more for lunches next week - maybe chili??? I did make "green slime" this week (plain yogurt, pistachio pudding and crushed pinapple). I have not made that in a long time -- very yummy!
Tiki - glad your kids are willing to try new foods. My dd wanted grapenuts with yogurt for bf this morning. She ate it and liked it. She is very picky - its hard for me to get her to want to try new things, I have found if she helps me cook she is more likly to try it. Thankfully she is learning good eating habits - she much prefers fruit over candy. Lets just hope it lasts!
Sandra, love the waterfall too! I also have lots of bird houses around my yard. Jim has a few in his shop that need hooks to hang them -- a 3 hole caboose and a lighthouse were two I picked up last summer. Love the birds -- we have hawks nesting in our yard this year. They were here 2 years ago and it was great watching the babies hatch and grow. Sarah is already watching them - they are swooping all over our yard. Hopefully we won't have alot of squirrells and chimpmunks!
Frouf - love the story, as usual! My goal as a mom is embarras Sarah as much as possible. :D Doesn't work yet, she just acts goofier! Just wait until she is 14!
Well, got to run to a meeting, bbl.

Thanks for the support, everyone. I will definitely try that no-tahini recipe for hummus--I'm sure it will be fine and then at least it will be Core and I can eat it for lunch again (but only as much as I need "to feel satisfied".).
In terms of meetings and leaders, I think it's essential to find one you like. When I joined, I always went Sun AM--my daughter was in Hebrew school and I enjoyed the leader's style. I tried out some evening meetings and the leaders were different--vibe of the meeting different--didn't enjoy it at all. Now that I'm Lifetime, I go on Wed. at 12:15--I save my Sun. AM for Boot Camp class at the Y. I like the Wed. leader as well. Keep trying out meetings (hopefully you have enough choice where you live so that you can try different ones) until you find one you like. After all, this is our hard-earned money we're spending to get healthy!
Wishing everyone a relaxing (ha!) weekend...off to make my new hummus.

Hi ladies! I am a newbie to Core--just started on monday. I have been attempting to do flex plan for the last 12 weeks and had managed to lose no weight but I just can't keep track of points. I've done great this week and feel sooo good. It's awesome! I started Monday and had lost 2.2 at WI on Wednesday.
Just wanted to introduce myself and get involved on these boards. I am almost 25, wife and mom to a puppy dog! :) I am a copy editor for Bible studies, very involved at church, belong to a supper club, read a ton...that's about it! Very happy to get to know all of you. :)

Welcome Jessie -- I started core back in 2004 when the first offered it and I reached goal 9 months later. Not having to track points, weight or measure fit my lifestyle wonderfully. I still cook mainly core foods - if you cook its fairly easy to substitute in core foods. I hope you find it as successful!
Elana - I've made a white bean dip instead of hummus using chickpeas. I found the chickpeas are a bit dry without the tahinin. Basically drain a can of white beans, add in some garlic and a bit of olive oil, salt and pepper -- put it all in a blender or food processor and mix. If too thick I've thinned it with chicken stock or water. Hope you find one you love - its great with veggies.

Good Morning all :)
I had a great time last night ! I went out with DH for dinner and went to buy something sexy :X We stopped at starbucks and sat and talked for awhile. It has been a long time since we went out alone with out all the kiddos . Felt nice to be asked out for dinner with a sitter lined up already. The best part is instead of having the night focused on food I was able to drink my lemon water . eat on plan using a few points . Skipping dessert and feeling satisfied. Off to do some ab workouts and then softball practise . Everyone have a fantastic day !!!!

Gina- maintain isnt awful you know (we all say this until it happens to us right? lol) I think with AF thats great it sould have been much worse! Hang in there and you will see a loss next week.PS you weighing in at home or meetings?
Welcome Jessie to the group! these ladies are great! Hop on in!
LOL@bootcamp. It was in massachusetts.I'm in a new area so this WW was new for me.My other leaders were so hilarious, you cracked up the whole time, although the ladies were not as social as these ones.I think I prefer the funny leader over social ladies thats for sure. Was going to check out a meeting this morning but forgot Jim was going to Dads to fix a light for him.Hopefully I can take a look on Tuesday morning.
I need to find one I like and your right this is my money I have to do it! :)
Paula- I find this too that if you cook with her she will tend to try something.most of the time not tho lol she eats a handful of things. She also just got into cantalope which I'm happy about, she only eats certain fruits.dont get it as a toddler she'd eat everything in front of her.She would def prefer candy over fruit! unless I slab peanut butter on it ha
I swear I made 3 different meals last night.
I also cleaned my butt off.I was so tired by the end of the night i was surpised I was up watching the sox game with Jim.Naturally he came up about 10 with some snacks and I was doing so well not eating after 730.Finally I was so hungry we split a mini bag of popcorn (core) it could have been worse he had cheese n crackers with brownies, damn his metobolism LOL
trying to get my shopping list together so many recipes dont know what do lol I have some time before I head out tho.I find it easier if I list my menus first and go from there.
Niki thats great! I'm still in touch with a few from my September 2003 people.Never met any of them tho.But its amazing the friendship you make on those boards.I could never find a Due in July 2006 baord that I liked so I missed out on sharing my pregnancy with people . The amazing race sounds like a blast and very creative :)

Hi Guys,
Sorry I haven't been around much in the last couple of weeks. I'm not used to being on my feet talking all day and by the time I get home I'm just whipped and don't want to come downstairs and look at the computer. This will change when it gets hot and its cooler in the basement than upstairs.
I was proud of myself last night, we were really swamped and I was standing all day, so by the end my legs were telling me to go home, but I still went to curves. Wasn't moving as fast as normal but at least I was moving :D I road my bike to work on Tues (before the rain for the last 4 days), and fell as I was getting on after ww (my bike is top heavy with the bag on the back I carry my lunch and stuff in). Now I have a scab on my knee and feel like a 4 yo.
I've been doing better with moving, unfortunately not with eating. Still can't seem to get back on track :(. I found a recipe for a wheat berry salad, that I'm going to try w/grilled chicken for lunches. I find I don't eat enough at lunch then I get home hungry and grab junk. I used to eat "smart ones" but they're not core and I'm really trying to stick to core foods.
Vicki - It never rains it pours. Hang in there things are bound to improve. I am so happy I have a handy dh (I'm ok w/direction) and a family who are construction workers so we can usually handle most things ourselves. My bil resided our sun room for the cost of supplies and a case of beer, and the neighbors say it looks better than it ever has.
Sandra - I love those birdhouses, they are so cute, and so is the waterfall. My cat and dogs would love it if I put some of them in the back yard
Frouf - I know I'm late, but glad you talked to your doctor about how you're feeling. I was on meds about 13 years ago for depression, they helped kick start me back to normal, and that's what I needed. But later I had a doctor tell me I should go back on them because I wasn't feeling well, so I know that sometimes they are over prescribed. Talking with someone is also a definite help, my therapist was actually invited to our wedding because DH said with out her we wouldn't have made it that far.
Elena - I posted a recipe on the sides thread for raspberry vinegar hummus, although I've never made it with raspberry vinegar only balsamic which I have in the house already. Anyway, it uses sauted onions to keep the texture, and a little cumin for that mid-east flavor. It's not the same w/o the tahini but it's really good. I've taken it to many parties and everyone loved it. Now you've got me in the mood I'll have to make some....
Jessie - Welcome.
Rhonda - yea on hanging in there with company.
Angela - Hope you're felling better. Wouldn't find me on the roof, can't do heights any more. DH would have had to change pants.
Tiki - I still can't eat cream of wheat. It was what we ate as kids when we had upset stomachs and that's what it brings to mind. I do have a box in the cupboard for those days I have an upset stomach though....
Paula - yea on re-joining. :carrot:
Nicki - that Amazing Race thing sounds cool. That is one of my favorite shows.
Sorry to those I missed. I've got to go get dressed to meet my folks at the park to walk. Its nice that it's warm enough we don't have to walk indoors anymore :D. Plus the dogs get to come and they like that. Then I get to mow the grass, since dh got called into work last night and didn't get home til 3 am so he'll be pretty worthless most of the day. Glad we got a new mower a couple years ago...
Have a great weekend everyone.

Good morning all! Its a gloomy day here and its not supposed to get much better. Oh well. I'm taking dd to a school faire this afternoon - don't expect much since its a preschool faire. There are supposed to be games and raffles to raise money for a charity the school has been supporting all year.
Off to grocery shop and then my regular cleaning today. What's everyone else up to this weekend? The only other thing I need to do is go to DSW for new shoes -I deperatly need new sneakers. When I go to DSW I usually end up with a few pairs!
Tiki and Gina - we all have 4 year olds! Sarah is a Feb 2003 baby. I'm now trying not to make 2 meals, Sarah is getting better at eating what I make for supper. She will only eat regular chicken or pork if its shake-n-baked.
Sandra, did you make it to ww today?

Good Morning Chicks! It is SO wonderful to see all the new folks here. I wish I felt more up to cheerleading since it is one of my most favorite pastimes. I'm doing good to keep myself moving forward.
The scale is up a pound this morning but I'm not worried since I don't believe it is a real pound. Jim and I will be taking it real easy today since it's been a really hectic week. Tomorrow and Monday will be hard. My Godmother died yesterday so we have the wake tomorrow and the funeral Monday. I'll postpone weigh in until Tuesday.
We are still struggling with the leak in the roof. A roofer told us it was fine and the plumbers say if the water came in the pipe it would go into the sewer system. So bottom line is we either have to call another roofer or try to force the plumber to look for a crack in the vent stack pipe. These days I really hate being a home owner.
I'm still fighting with my physical issues but I'm trying to have a positive outlook. I am not using it as an excuse to overeat since my weight seems to be an issue with every doctor that I go to. I'm trying not to make it worse.
To all of you who are new on Core.....be true to the program and it will work for you. It's healthy and it works. My best advice is to drink lots of water.....even more than on Flex....and exercise. I lost best the weeks that I drank 8-10 eight ounce glasses of water daily. For some reason, the water flush seems even more important on Core.
Good Luck to you all. I'll be back when I can.

My mom use to give us warm ginger ale basically flat lol I dont drink ginger ale at all unless i have an upset tummy.good for you getting urself in curves I use to belong to curves as well its hard getting there but once ur in you feel so much better and proud you went. Good for you :)
thanks for the advice Vickie! I will take your suggestion.I do notice I have more energy on core.Take care of yourself and the rest with follow.I know it hard dealing with two people who are telling u two different things.Hang in there.
I feel you Paula down in the SS.We were suppose to do some gardening and take a look at some veggies at home depot today and it doesnt look like its happening. On a good note my indoor herb garden looks great! Althought dd moved all my sticks with the names on them and I dont know whats what! other than the parsley,I guess i will have to eat them and figure it out lol Funny we all have 4yr old girls, well dd will be 4, 9/11.Your lucky sarah eats meat dd will not eat any meat, other than a chicken hot dog.she constantly eats those morningstar veggie links. Im heading to a ww meeting this afternoon to check out that leader, hopefully shes different.

You guys will laugh.I went to ww meeting and the leader was different and I liked her alot AND she follows Core. Well as we were leaving she says "Cindy will be back next week" LMAO I dont know if Cindy was the leader I had on Thursday or not but I asked her where she did her meetings and its a couple towns over I think <sigh> so I will see who cindy is next week and if its not someone I care for I will drive there.

hi there, chickies. i did go to ww this am and had a great time inspite of the scales. the leader is fantastic. i like all the leaders here. we're lucky folks.
i am not going to change my tracker till next week, but i will tell you--it's wayyyyy up. one of the things the leader said today was, "think of ww as a lifejacket. if you're drowning, you don't wait and wait to put it on."
i get tickled reading about all your young children. my son will be 40 this november. time really flies.
vickie, i hope you're feeling better.
i congratulate all of you for staying op and losing so well. those of you staying op and not losing--i congratulate you, too. you're going to have your payoffs soon.
rhonda, i have missed you. i have some news. remember i told you about our friend who's a psychologist? he's going to work me to help me get over target panic. he's going to use hypnosis. ask doyle about our great grandfather who was a traveling hypnotist who sold elixir. if you find out much, please e me and pass it on. i don't know much at all about him. he was papa's father. that's about all i know.
have a super saturday, everyone. we're putting up the fence tomorrow. well, curtis and a friend are. i'm cooking lunch and will be planting lilac and mock orange bushes when they're finished. the birdhouses should be here tues at the latest. i'll have them in the bed asap along with some scarlet morning glories. life is good.

Good Morning or Good Middle of the night, Chickies! Yeah, I'm up in the middle of the night....again.
I've read and see that you are all enthusiastic and doing well on program. That's great! Good luck to all you younger chickies. My advice is to get it off now while you're young. It is quite a battle if you wait until perimenopause as I have.
I really need to try to go back to sleep in a bit since I have the wake to go to later today.
Be well!

Good morning all. Started the day off with scrammbled eggs and oranges. Skipped the english muffins that dd and dh had. And I have a pot of crockpot chili goning now. Need to shower and make beds then off to Kohls - big sales to day. DD needs new pj's - hers from last year are just a bit too small - she complains they are too tight. So, we'll get that and check out what else is on sale, if I can get one or two new tops for work for the spring, it will be enough to "freshen" my wardrobe. I'd love to find a few dresses for work, but all I can ever find are more like sun dresses, not appropriate for the office.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day - later this after noon we will be heading down to Plymouth to walk around and shop a bit then dh wants to stop at his favorite pizza place. The have nothing that could be considered core except salad. I may just have a big salad after an apple on the way down. I'll have to check the points on pizza - checking that before hand may stop me from eating more than one piece. That's my challenge for the day.
Take care all.

Morning ladies. Vickie, you have my empathy on the insomnia thing. I have been battling bronchitis, and even though that's getting better, I now have a dry, irritated cough that gets worse at night. I really didn't sleep much the last 3 nights. Very very horrible. I can deal with a lot of things, but don't mess with my sleep! But finally last night, I managed to sleep fairly decently, thank goodness.
The weather here has been goregeous. We started a few things in the greenhouse yesterday, and planted peas, lettuce, onion sets, and spinach out in the garden. Aaah, nice. Life is good, as Sandra says.
Time to get everyone ready for church.

Hi Everyone
What a beautiful day we are having.
went to church this morn. Then son took us out to eat. Then came home. Son is watching the race. And hubby is taking a nap. So thought I would get on here for a few.
We are going to go to some friends after bit.
VICKIE Hope you get some rest. Isnt awful. How you are suppose to take meds to help something. But in the long run. They do other things. I know I get fed up with the DR's here. They just keep playing with hubby's meds. And then one Dr wants to change something. but then another says no. So who do you go with. I wish they would get together and talk things over. But that dont seem to happen.
ONTARGET Love the fall with the flowers. And the birdhouses.
FROUFY How are you doing. Sounds as if you had a good time. that is great.
WELCOME TO ALL NEWBIES
To everyone one else I am thinking of you. Hope you are having a great day.
Well am going to get off here. Just thought I would check in.
Scales dont look good for tomorrow.
Enjoy your day.

Hi All:
I slept for 12 hours!!! I was sooo tired, but I think I've caught up.
I've cleaned house a little today, visited my former MIL in the hospital (for those who don't know, she's a very sweet lady who is in her 80's and hosptialized with Alzheimer's), and hassled with the car which #%(*$& on me while I was leaving the hospital. Oh well, former FIL came to the rescue with his CAA membership (like AAA, but in Canada), got the car started and I got home. We don't know what's wrong, but it sounds like water in the gas line. Let's hope that's all it is.
Now, back to the :exercise:. I'm going out for a 40 minute walk, right now! BBL

Hi chickies,
slow and lazy sunday here! but at least the sun is shining - yesterday was awfully gloomy and rainy - and more rain expected tomorrow - at least the grass is turning green and many of my plants/bushes which looked pretty dead are actually being revived!
Sandra - love the waterfall by the way - I love the sound of trickling water - and when dh becomes a millionaire (ha ha ha) and we get a new house I want a wall of water inside - just cascading down into a little pond - yes INSIDE the house - how cool would that be?
Vickie - you poor dear - how awful to be up at night - hope you called the dr - can you switch meds?
Angela - sending you 'healing' wishes' - can't be fun coughing all night - I know you must also be exhausted - are you able to rest at all during the day?
Picked up my van Friday (after visiting litlle ds' science fair at school) - driving home and notice something funny when I use the left turn signal - I finally get a chance to pull over on a side street and as suspected - it isn't working!!! (left tail light had to be replaced due to the accident) - so back I go - and there are like closing up shop - but too bad so sad you must reconnect the frouf's van lights - so now 3 guys are desperately working on my lights (turns out my brake and reverse lights were also not funcitonal!). New bulbs were tried - I had to hit the brakes the lights, the signals - and stand around in the rain a lot - but finally it was repaired!!! New tires are great too - but garage just reeks of rubber!
Yesterday was 'income tax day' at our house (taxes here due on the 30th) - poor dh had a heck of a time doing his - I had to sit and wait (using tax software program on my computer) - because he is self-employed his is a lot more complicated than mine and yes he owes big bucks (and I get a measly $375 back!). We are going to review them tonight or tomorrow then telefile and that's that!
Went to Zombie prom again last night - even dh - and I think he tried his best NOT to complain too much - it was just as good - if not better than the previous show - the 'dancing' girls did pull a prank on one of the other actors (Eddie Flagrante, reporter for Expose) - at the end of the dance they all lean in and pretend/air kiss him - it's so very cute - but as it was the last night - the girls are leaned in and REALLY kissed him - you should have seen his face (and covered w/lipstick to boot) - so funny!
Little ds was desperately waiting to see dd cuz he had a big bouquet of flowers for her - so cute. Then dd was off to the cast party and a sleepover - heard her slip in at 9 am this morning! (says they didn't fall asleept til 4 am!).
Not much happening today - dd had dance rehearsal - I was supposed to go to breakfast w/gf but not in the mood - not feeling very social these days - and still feeling draggy and lethargic - went to the Mall - Lancome bonus days - but could not find a foundation I liked - and frankly I think I am not in a good place right now to go shopping - so I headed home.
Dh gone to see some friend's band perform this afternoon - and is hinting about going to a movie tonight? Will see how I"m feeling - already dreading work tomorrow!

Hi ladies, I hate clothes shopping, did I ever mention how much I hate to shop for clothes for me, I love shopping for my kids and husband but not for me. I went all over today to find something to wear to a communion party we are going to on Saturday, it is in a fancy place and it is in the evening. I hate the way everything looked on me, I am so depressed about my weight and more determined than ever to get this weight off. Everything I tried on just did not look or fit right, I did manage to find a black & white pattern top that will look good with black slinky pants or a skirt. Oh did I mention I hate shopping!

the fence is in and our first hummingbird of the season is visiting us today!!!! after james built the split rail fence, he dug holes so i could plant 3 lilacs, a mock orange, a hydrangea, and a burning bush. james is one of our "archery sons." he actually calls me mom. life is good.
now here's something cute--remember bryan who went to salt lake with us and drove me home? he, his wife, and their 3 (three!!) year old son are going to redding, california this week to compete in the largest 3d tournament in the world. i think it's a hoot that 3 yr old bodie is going to compete. he'll be in a group of 0-7 yo's. bry said he's just shooting for fun. he'll shoot from close up and will only shoot the targets he wants to shoot. he's not really competing. i think this is precious. what a fun thing for a young family to share.
vickie, i hope you get some rest tonight. did you call your doctor?
paula, you have grit, girl. i can't imagine going to a pizza parlor and just having salad.
angela, you sound very chipper. i love it!
coco, ;) ;) ;) for a good wi tomorrow.
rhonda, good for you getting in that walk. i guess yardwork was my exercise today. i still need to get outside and spray liquid fence. i'll do that after "amazing race" is over.
frouf, i've seen those water walls on tv. i'd love to have one, too. i love to listen to water--very relaxing.
frouf, curtis and i have been going into depressions after indoor archery season the past 3 years. the reason i'm telling you that is because maybe you are in one because your cruise trip just ended. does that make sense? we're working at getting more socializing. especially curtis. he could be a hermit very easily. you get out and do some things. you need to be around your friends. friends and sunshine work wonders on depressions.
nikki, do you like to shop? just kidding. i'm glad you found something. aren't you close to your goal? 3 lbs or so? you will have those 3 off soon.
got to go. it's almost time for "ar."

Sandra I wish I was close to goal, 3 more lbs is to my 20lb goal, I have many more 20 lb goals to be at my final weight goal. I find that 20lbs at a time is more realistic than the big picture.

Good Evening All:
It's after 10PM, and I'm turning in very soon. I got my 40 minute walk in, and didn't have much for supper.
I think I'm turning a corner on this low motivation I've been experiencing. I just don't have time for it!

Niki: you'll do it!
Sandra: I think DH could be a hermit also. I don't understand MEN at times. It's sad, because even if we didn't KNOW it, the research is really very clear. The best way to stay healthy is exactly what Grandmother said: moderate food and exercise, get outside, play with your friends, think good things, and be kind.
With those "words of wisdom" I'll turn in. See you tomorrow.
Rhonda
ps: I'm enjoying the newbies on the board too.

niki, i am proud of you for getting so close to your 20 lb goal. you're smart to break the journey into parts.
rhonda, your grandmother was a wise woman. curtis made the call and is meeting his friend tuesday for some male bonding. i am very very happy about this. i'm going with a gf thursday am to buy some flowers. i'm going to load up with petunias. i have some petunia seedlings but i don't have much faith in them.
night night, chickies.

Good Morning Chickies! I finally got a full night sleep last night. It makes such a difference. I still feel deprived but maybe I can nap some time today.
I've a million phone calls to make and appointments today. I'm off and running.
Stay on program, drink your water and exercise. It's really no secret!
