Have a great day:D Love, Es decemberdianne 11-17-2001, 01:26 PM Good Saturday morning everyone  Myra - congrats on your big loss - great job. Jen - I never had a treadmill, so I'm not sure, I had a bicycle. Just used it a few times, my sister has one and I notice her thighs and legs are very skinny. I was skinny all my life and had toothpicks for legs, so I don't want to do anything to make my legs skinny, since the only time my legs look half way decent is when I have some weight on my bones:lol: I know that sounds weird and I want to lose weight, I just don't want to lose weight in my legs! Hey Es- good going on getting to the gym so often. I'm ashamed to say that we have a workout area with treadmills, bikes, weights, ect. in the student's center at work and I've only been there a few times. The thing is I don't feel like sweating at lunch and going back to work (yuk) and the other option is to stay after work to go and I really want to get home after work, so there goes that option. Maybe I'll give it a shot now that winter's coming - won't sweat as much:D Happy Birthday to Ellen!!!!!!!! Hope she had a good one. Good luck to Brandon Terri - win or lose I'm sure you'll all have a great time. Willie and I are on vacation this week (YAY). We're just gonna hang out in the city, etc. Alana's coming home for Thanksgiving on Tuesday, so that will be great. We'll be at my sister's house of Thanksgiving and we haven't all gotten together in awhile so that should be fun. Well, I'm gonna do some housecleaning today -- vacation or not the house does get dirty:mad: Hope you all have a great day! Hi to Zoe, Joyce, Ruth, etc. Hugs, Dianne Livinghealthy 11-17-2001, 08:13 PM Dianne, one more thing where we're alike! Someone at work suggested that I should go workout on my lunch hour, I said the way I sweat, no way!!! Come back smelling all funky!! Believe me, the reason why I go after work is cause Pete's here waiting for me to get home to go with him. I guess the buddy system works after all. So nice to be on vacation. We're taking it the week before Xmas. Till tomorrow Buddy:wave: Hi Jen, Terri, Myra, Zoe, Janie & Ruth. Hugs Zoe 11-18-2001, 01:05 PM Hello my friends!! I am running crazy, trying to get ready for my Thanksgiving guests. I am so, so excited this year because we will have a full house again. Not like the last 8 or so years when it was only us. Since moving to Texas and away from family, we just our holidays alone which I've gotten somewhat used to but it's still not the same. This year, besides Greg, Chris and myself, my daugher will come from FL, my sister and her boyfriend will be here (from FL) and my dad and step mother will be here!!! (from FL) The exciting thing is that my daugher and my sister both do not know that my dad and step mom will be here. They think that they will be home alone this year so when I pick Jenna up from the airport on Thanksgiving morning with them in the car, she will be shocked. When my sister comes for dinner around 12:30pm and sees them here, she'll be even MORE shocked!! HA!! I can't wait. I know I've been scarce on here but things will get back to normal soon and I'll be back to posting regularly. Don't forget me here, K??? :D Love you all and Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families!! Patti <>< short & sassy 11-18-2001, 07:15 PM Hi ladies, did any of you see the meteors this morning. I got up at 3:30, I stayed up until 5 am, but I didn't see any major activity. I saw a few meteors cross the skies, but not very many. I went back to bed, I guess I missed the major action. Well, I've been op all weekend. I'm really looking forward to weigh in tomorrow afternoon. I just have to remember to eat light and drink all my water early in the day. Patti, sounds like you have a wonderful Thanksgiving day in store. Living away from family can be hard, sounds like this Thanksgiving will be special!! I hope everyone one esle is having a good weekend. The weather here is wonderful. It doesn't seem like November at all. Take care Ruth mpinkham 11-18-2001, 08:01 PM I'm planning a somewhat WW-friendly Thanksgiving. The gym has an AM spin class that I plan to make. Then it is time to cook. I'm making a turkey for the guys and I'm have Veet TVP chicken breast "meat". The rest of the meal consist of garlic mashed potatoes, stuffing, squash and steamed veggies. We will top it off with pumpkin pie. As long as I am careful with portion control I should do all right. fitforlife426 11-19-2001, 01:37 PM Hi Guys, It's Essie. I'm at work:( So how is everybody? Myra, you've been doing so well I know you'll do alright Thanksgiving Day;) Ruth, let us know how your weigh-in went. Patti, it sounds like you're going to have a really good time with your family. I'm happy for you. Well, my lunch hour is over. Be back later from home. Love, Es JanieD 11-19-2001, 01:42 PM HI girls, Thanks you all who wished Ellen a HB!. She had a great time. The girls stayed up till almost 2 am so they all were able to see some meteors. I thought it was the best meteor shower I had ever seen. It was a crazy weekend and I totally blew it staying OP. I probably gained 4 pounds this week. It sounds like Patti is going to have a great Thanksgiving. We are going to Steve's sister's house in SF. She put me in charge of desert. Any good ideas for low point deserts? She and her husband are the only family we have on the west coast. It is unfortuante for Ellen because they don't have any kids so all of her cousins are 3000 miles away and she only gets to see them about every 2 years. GOt to get to work now. Have a great Monday. Janie points 11-19-2001, 02:27 PM Hi everybody, I am back. Brandon's team lost. At the end of the game the stadium put on "I will Survive". The coaches and parents surrounded the team and the boys started dancing. It was so cool. We all had a great time at the Hotel the last night. Everybody got to relax instead of figuring out the details for the next game. I look at the bright side (I have a knack for that) and think about no more football practices etc... I can concentrate on the Holidays. Brandon is fine about it and looking forward to the football party. They got a big write up in the paper about being State Champs and the trophies are huge so he will be happy. Patty, Sounds like you will have a blast. I like surprising people like that. FUN!!!!! Dianne, Have fun with Alana and being with family. You will have a great Thanksgiving. JanieD, Glad your little girl had a great birhtday. We are going to cook now that we don't have to travel this weekend. We will watch the Parade and then "It's a Wonderful Life" and then finish and eat dinner and then go to see either Harry Potter or Monsters Inc. We will try Harry Potter Tuesday (not a school night) night and if it is sold out we will try again Thanksgiving. I love Thanksgiving. It is so relaxing for me. There is no guilt associated with staying home. My Steelers WON!!!!! Jen, I'll bet nobody will ever leave the stadium early again in Bear Country. The Cardiac Kids struck again. They are the poster team for the saying "It aint over til it's over" . TTYL, Terri Jenny523 11-19-2001, 04:48 PM Hi everyone, Terri, give Brandon my congratulations for having made it that far, something to be proud of. Sounds like you had a good time. Did you mean that you watch It's a Wonderful Life on Thanksgiving? That is a tradition we've had for years! I love that movie, watching it truly begins the holiday season for me. Go Steelers!!! After some questionable coaching by the Bears, we won anyhow....this is the best season in years and I'm loving it. Ruth, we set the alarm for 3:30 Sunday morning, had a pot of coffee ready to brew, and a fire laid in the chimenea in the yard...we were ready! and the sky was so cloudy and overcast with heavy fog that made it impossible to see 15 feet much less the meteor showers :( I've never seen one, and was hoping to. Oh well! good luck on your weigh in, let us know. Patti/Zoe, have a great visit with your family. I'll bet the smiles on their faces when they're surprised will be priceless! And don't worry, you won't be forgotten here....just enjoy this wonderful time to be with those you care about. Es, My sister in law does the same as you, my brother goes to the gym after work for rehabilitation for his knee (blew it out and had surgery last year), which is what gets her going to the gym 3 days a week. The buddy system is great for her. How nice to take vacation the week before Christmas. You'll be able to enjoy the holiday even more. Dianne, Hope you're enjoying your vacation with Willie. I'm sure you'll have a great visit with Alana. It seems like she just went away to school in August and it's already turkey day! Have fun. Myra, your menu for Thursday sounds good. Enjoy! Janie, sorry I can't help you out with low point desserts. If I could I wouldn't be at this weight! Have you checked out the recipe threads on this site? I remember someone posting a low points pumpkin pie(crustless?) other years. We're having Jessica, Michael, and the boys here on Thanksgiving, naturally. Michael's mom, Maria, is joining us also. Usually I spend Wednesday evening baking the pies, chopping onions and celery, etc. This Wednesday I've got class from 6 to 10, so I'll have a late night. Joey said he'd do the floors on that evening, so it saves me a big job. I hate doing them! so far, totally on program today :D :D and 60 ounces of water in! later, ~Jen JanieD 11-20-2001, 02:13 PM HI gals, I have so much cake and goodies left over from Ellens party that I am taking them all into work today. It is amazing what people will eat as long as it's free. I just found out yesterday that Ellen doesn't have school tomorrow. I thought I was going to be stuck for child care but then Steve said he'd take her to school with him. I don't know how she'll like sitting in a college physics lecture, but I'll send her with lots of activities to keep her busy. I am afraid to WI tomorrow. This has been a really bad week for me with all the birthday celebrations and the end of soccer season party. I am with you Terri, end of season is great...no more practices and games until August. Take care everyone, JanieD short & sassy 11-20-2001, 11:31 PM Well, I hope everyone is having a good week. I'm worn out, today is my full day at school, two classes in the morning and two at night. I just walked through the doors a few minutes ago and I'm exhausted. Well, I saw a 2.6 lb loss my first week of ww. I'm thrilled, I only have 50 lbs more to go!! Janie, hope your weigh in is a good one. Sometimes a bad week doesn't necessarily result in a gain. Good luck. Well, I'm beat, I'm off to bed early tonight. I'll check in with you tomorrow. Ruth 178.4/175.6/125 points 11-21-2001, 01:38 AM YAY Ruth! That is wonderful. Great loss. JanieD, Great plan. Get it out of the house. Yay for no practices. It feels so great to be done.
