I just came home from Wally World (Super Wally World) and noticed that Jimmy Dean has come out with a line of breakfast sandwiches (frozen) called D-Lights....they advertise that they have 1/3 the calories and half the fat of other breakfast sandwiches. I picked some up for DH (I'm sure I'll try one though) that are whole wheat english muffin with turkey sausage, egg and lt cheese. It's 280 calories with 18g of protein and 10g of fat...not great, but not too bad for a complete meal. Of course the sodium is up there, but what else is new. They also had two others that were 250 cals: one with canadian bacon and one with some sort of ham and swiss cheese and egg. They all looked good, but then I was kind of hungry.
Also, for the record, I often make this at home with my own 100 cal english muffins, egg beaters and FF cheese...but these are kind of handy if you're in a hurry.

Hmmm, sounds good. That is about the same calories as a lean cuisine, so I do not see why you couldn't count one as a P and S once in a while.

Sounds pretty easy to duplicate this breakfast sanwich with ground turkey and lots of spices...

I would imagine the Jimmy Dean version is packed with salt...( he says while ducking for cover)...

Sure, using the ground turkey will be time intensive, but with the right amount of chile powder, it would be worth it!!!

Talk about Ground Turkey? Well, I made Turkey Meatloaf last night. After mixing, I premeasure them all, and made mini meat loaf - individual size. When they came out, my DS, rush to the kitchen, sampled a bite, took 2 mini meat loaf and chomped them up like I wasn't gonna allow it. Then the cats sniffled the air, and came meowing in complaint. They wanted some too. So, I made like 7 mini loafs, thinking, you know, the rest of the week? Maybe enough left for 3-4 days/meals? Nope. I only got two meals out of it. It's worth it though. Easy to make, easy to bake, and everyone loved it.

ps. The Jimmy Dean version is indeed good. Just ask my DS who happen to have one for his breakfast this morning...

Now all I want is high salt, greasy breakfast food. Look at what the talk of Pot and breakfast does to me! Thank goodness I can't sleep in tommorrow morning. At least I can't a McGriddle at 5:15!

The Lean Pockets one's are 1/2 a Protein and a Starch, they've been my savior many a mornings. (:smoking:, yes I know the salt police are probably coming after me now . . .) But, when you're out the house at 5 am, breakfasts have to be made in under 90 seconds. :whoo:
