Ugh, I had to come and confess my sins, yesterday (in a few moments of weakness), I had one PB cooked and a big M&M cookie from our work cafeteria....ugh. Just when I was at the lowest weight I have been in a year or more...isn't that grand. Then when I got on the scale this morning I was up 4lbs!!!! OMG NOT 4 LBS!!!!! I guess that is what I get for cheating, :( . Well I am trying to get back on that wagon today. Problem is I don't know if it all came from the cookies, or if it came from the Tuna casserole I made last night, I made it with low sodium everything including the tuna...lol. What do you guys think, I need a hug or something.

Big hug coming your way, Nisha!

It sucks when you see a gain like that, and you think, "I didn't really even cheat!"

Drink some hot lemon water girlie!! I'm sure it will come off in no time.

awww! sending a hug to you!
we all stray on occassion and end up beating ourselves up for it and seeing a huge jump on the scale doesn't help, i know. but more than likely it's just excess water weight that will come off with some extra glasses of water and a few days back on track. don't worry, 2 cookies won't make or break you. this is a lifestyle change and we are human and can't be perfect all the time! :)

WOOOOO HOOOOO!!!! I am gonna do it!!! Hey guys does anyone know if splitting proteins is bad?

Kimphin

I have found that splitting proteins works well for me. I tend to lose better when I have protein at each meal (hmmm... maybe I should be doing the Zone diet, LOL)

Just remember that it is supposed to be the same protein when you split it. (not sure of the exact reason, except to keep measurements correct)

donisha81
04-18-2007, 10:36 AM
Yep, that was my issue I split a protein with a different protein, I had 1.5 Tblsp RF PB and a stick of RF cheese...oh well, I guess we will see how that turns out.

I split my proteins sometimes, and I haven't really noticed it affects my weight loss. My COD doesn't like it when I do that, so sometimes I have to "tweak" my journal before going to WI......

Everyone has missed the most important question. Were the cookies good? Could you describe the peanut butter one in more detail?

I split protein but I am not careful about keeping them the same and my COD has never caught it I guess. The Eggs are a hard one for me, I guess it is habit, but one protein (on red) is 3 eggs. who eats 3 eggs? I eat two. Well 3T of PB is also one protein, but I don't need 3T of that either. I like 1T. so I will eat 2 eggs for breakfast and then 1T of PB on a 1/2 a banana at snack and call it one protein. haven't had any problems yet.

I'd like to hear more about the cookies too.. could you send me a webcam photo of one.. I'm starting to forget what a cookie looks like??
No worries Nisha...Smarties have been known to come out of dark corners in this house and fly straight into my mouth.. then expand in my stomach to 4 times their original size resulting in an overnight 4lb gain on the sclae!
Get back POP.. Megan will tell you that the power of Doritos can be beaten and you can go on to lose from there :)

Don't let some discretionary calories set you back or get you down. Tomorrow is a new day honey! Hang in there. A treat once in a while is not going to hurt you. In fact why don't you allow yourself a cookie a week if that is one of the things you like. Or, make a batch of homemade cookies with healthier ingredients and freeze them and take one out once a week to enjoy. :) Everything in moderation!

I'm maxxed out on fruits already, Shannon, or that might work. I do have SF jello and FF cool whip at home, though, so I'll grab some of that for dessert while we watch to see who gets booted off AI. I'm guessing it'll be Chris tonight. (SHOULD be Sanjaya, but I think the VFTW people are still going strong.)

Personally, I think they should bring Crying Girl back for the finale and let her sit with the judges. ;)

I'm going to be very sad if they vote off Chris. I like him, nose singing and all. Sanjaya has to go but I'm up for Lekesha if he doesn't go. We already know Melinda is winning.........wait.........I thought Chris Daughtry was winning last time.........ok nevermind. Sanjaya is our new American Idol. I'm so proud. Anyone up the the plege of allegance. All together now.

Ah, what I would give to make it up to the end of the results show! Ah, the joys of starting work at 5 am. Granted, I kind of like being home by 2 pm every day.

Yes, Sanjaya has to go--but at least he's making an effort. Lakisha was a horror--you knew it was bad when the judges wouldn't even giver her props for doing an Idol winner's song.

As for Daughtry, thought he would win. I also was the one that cried in shock when Constanine Maroulis finsished sixth! I was sure he was going to win, and voted accordingly so each week. :D

Back to topic, if we don't cheat Nisha what's the point in being on diet? It's about being able to eat splurges eventually. :hat:

ok... First off, unless those cookies were the size of a small pizza, you did not gain 4 lbs from them.. One consideration is that they may have still been in your system and added to the weight you saw on the scale..

Just being the voice of "reason" here

Anyway, I have a cookie confession too.. They brought subway sandwiches in for our meeting today and while I was very good with it - pulled off the ham slice, no condiments, overloaded on the veggies, it also came with a couple cookies and a bag of baked chips.. So of course, knowing I had a 3 mile hike ahead of me during the afternoon, ate them all...

Drank water like a madman today, however, so at least I have that going for me.

Oh... and the cookies were GOOD!!!

Dan, you evil evil man.. I hope you really enjoyed those cookies. Couldn't you have told us that they were the worst cookies ever? That they tasted like styrofoam? They were hard as rocks and could be used as manhole covers?? Cut us some slack, dude!!

Try this one on for size...talk about willpower...yay for me.....

The girl who sits directly beside me at work is stick thin and eats everything in sight. But EVERY day (and I am not exaggerating here) she has a large double fudge brownie WITH sprinkles thank you very much. Now I am not a very big sweets eater but that even gets to me!!!! Some days I try to plot ways to steal the brownie!!! Then she will go to Timmies and get a coffee and come back with a triple chocolate muffin. Did I mention she is skinny???? Just checking LOL!!!

But...today I had my apple pear applesauce...not the same but I turned my back on the brownie ;) ;)

I HATE people like that.. They eat and eat and eat... GRRRR!

There's a guy at our conference in Carlsbad who is kind of like that.. He's not skinny, but very tall and pretty well built.. Maybe a little extra weight, but not bad at all..

So last night we all go out to dinner at this little coffee bar/sandwich shop.. I have a spinach turkey wrap and a salad.. He has a turkey melt on a 6 inch baquette with a bowl of soup and a salad.. His coworker has a couple of open faced tuna melts on english muffins and can only eat one.. So he eats the other.. Another couple with us got a small "loaded" pizza with all kinds of good stuff on it.. They each eat a couple of pieces and offer the rest to anyone who wants it.. So this guy has a piece and then takes the rest of the pizza (2 or 3 slices) in a box as the couple don't want to take it..

He probably had it for a late night snack..

Sheeesh.. How do these people get away with it?

I just wanted to tell anyone who has not checked out Libby's progress slide show, to check it out! Very inspiring!
Libby, You look fantastic! I'm a little taller than you, but my goal is the same...so I think I'll save your slideshow to inspire me when I'm feeling like I can't do it anymore. Did you do LAWL? Oh, and your son is ADORABLE!!! I bet it makes you feel fantastic to pass on your healthy habits and exercise habits down to him. :bravo:

Thanks so much! No I didn't do LAWL, I just adopted healthier eating habits by following the USDA food pyramid and my eating just evolved from there. I pick posts at random usually by seeing the "new posts" and don't pay much attention to the forums in which they are located. I'm not familiar with LAWL. It's one of the very few I haven't tried! :)

As Gracie Hart said in Miss Congeiality "She's just going to puke it up anyway!"

That or they're like my ballerina college roommate who ate everything in sight and never gained an ounce, they don't know how to sit still. :D

LIBBY you did an awesome job, you look fantastic.

As for me this week, has been nightmarish as far as my weight concerns, I don't know if I am just emotionally eating because of all the stress around me, or if this is just not working for me now. I have gained about 6lbs this week alone, maybe it is water maybe it's not. I don't know how to get back into the swing of things and is SUCKS!!! I was really planning on being in ONEderlan by my Bday (July 5th), but how can that happen if I keep messing up...ugh.

Thanks guys for being so helpful, and positive, I know I have been kind of a downer this week, maybe today will be better...ugh. :?: :( :)

Today is always better. My goal is to be in onederland by July 4th - maybe we can push each other. I got on my newly purchased home scale this am and found myself 2 lbs heavier and this has been a bad week where the first 2 days I couldn't eat. I've obviously made up for it! Extra diuretics for me!
