hey,
i wanted to share my success with dieting, finally!
i have tried numerous amounts of diets with no luck, i was like a yo- yo, losing and gaining weight. my friend convinced me to give south beach diet a try as my one last resort. it really worked wonders for her after her 2nd baby. she was also struggling to lose the weight, and she has been on the diet now for over 2 yrs.
im so glad i listened to her, it has really changed my life. i lost 37lbs in 3 months.
sbd is more of a new lifestyle, and after a short 2 weeks on phase I, you can indulge in some really yummy foods! i own the cookbook, which is great btw. and the meals never get boring. the recipes are really simple too.
i think that each individual needs to find a right diet for themself. not all diets work the same on all ppl.. so dont give up if some diets didnt work for u.

good luck fellow dieters

That's awesome! I love Southbeach, too. And, the recipes really are yummy. The goat cheese and spinach chicken is my favorite...my family gets tired of it, but I could eat it 3-4 times a week..easily!

It's me again. What are some of the things you like so much about South Beach? How did you choose South Beach as compared to some of the other diet plans like Sugar Busters etc?

Your question wasnt directed to me, but I would be happy to answer this question for you.:D At the time I was choosing a plan, I hadnt heard about Sugar Busters. I'm really not familiar with that plan. My goal was to find a plan that Hubby would be willing to do with me and that included foods the whole family could enjoy. Also, I have insulin resistance and Hubby's family has a strong history of diabetes, high cholesterol and heart disease. Since the Southbeach diet was co-written by a cardiologist, I thought it was worth looking into. This is truly a plan I can follow for life. I enjoy the recipes and my food options and I like that I don't have to count calories to lose. I've tried counting calories...this week!...and I know that is just not something I can see myself doing for life. And, I've never eaten this healthy in my life! Almost everything I eat is unprocessed....a ton of vegetables, lean meats, healthy fats. And the biggie for me....I'm never hungry! My only recommendation...if you decide to follow Southbeach...don't try to do the plan with the Southbeach products only. You may use a breakfast bar every once in a while or one of the frozen meals in a crunch time. But, IMHO, the packaged foods really aren't that tasty and filling. I enjoy the recipes and eating unprocessed foods...and I really think my weight and inches come off easier when I incorporate a lot of whole foods into my diet.
