Hi,

I just started back on plan today (yikes!) Does anyone else want to set up a goal for Memorial Day? When I was here before, people would set short term holiday goals.

I'm setting a ten lb weight loss goal. It's about seven weeks away, so that is realistic.

On another site I am also in a Memorial Day challenge. I set a goal of 12 lbs.

Great goals! I have set goals for myself by first day of spring, first day of summer, first day of autumn, and then first day of winter. That seems to help me since the holidays themselves aren't always spaced apart enough to give me a chance in-between! :lol:

Count me in! I've stayed on track today, which for me means a lot! I sit at a desk all day in front of a computer! And I didn't snack all day long like I used to, just my one banana at a planned time! :carrot:

So I'll set my Memorial Day goal at 12 pounds!

A couple of weeks ago I set a Memorial Day goal of 15 lbs. The goal was really to get me below 220...back into the 2-teens (as Mrs.Q so delightfully calls them). I'll renew that goal here....I'm 4.5 lbs in.

These mini-goals really do HELP break up the monotony! It makes it feel like real accomplishment that just continues to snowball.

Tricia,

I like your avatar. My son did really well pitching for little league for the first time this weekend. It was about 33 degrees, and I can't believe they still played. He pitched two innings and struck out four players!

What a great idea! We haven't done one of these in a long time. These last 12 lbs. are getting really ridiculously hard to lose. So I'm going to say that I'd like to lose 3 lbs. by Memorial Day.

I set a goal about two weeks back to lose 16 pounds. My second WI for this mini goal is Wed. :)

That's how I'm doing it. By the seasons. I can aim for 25 lbs per season. A high goal, but I can try.

I'm doing a challenge in the WW forum for the spring season....I still have 12 pounds to go on that challenge, so I'll work to see if I can get them off by Memorial Day. Count me in!

i am new here and love to gone you short term goal. I think that would be great to have a goal with a group of people. But there is on thing memorail day in the US is May 28. could some on verify that with me so i can mark that down. thanks

Hello everyone...I'm new to the group and pretty excited about how supportive everyone is here.

I like doing challenges/having goals because I always seem to do better when I have something concrete to compete against.

Ideally I'd like to loose 20 lbs in 7 weeks but I think I'm going to be logical and aim for 15lbs.

Okay...I'll go 10 by memorial day. That's also my 14th wedding anniversary! Not only that it'll be the lightest I've been in 10 years.OMG! How awful to realize that the lightest I've been in 10 years is still in the 250's.<<shaking head>>

I want to do a major boogie on this and although I don't really like setting down specific goals, I just want to try my best to lose and see where I fall... My goal is 15 lbs by Memorial Day. Memorial day is a couple days after my birthday so it'll be good to be in the low 230s by then :)

I was just wondering how everyone was going with thier goals? I think for once in my life I might actually be going to achieve my goal - hopefully I haven't spoken too soon!

Does anybody else out there want to join our Memorial Day mini-goal challenge? With just over a month left it could be a great way to get / stay motivated.

I'm down 2.8. I have 9.2 to go. I think it can happen, but I'm going to have to keep really focused. That's almost a 2 pound per week loss, which I don't always do. But we have time!!!

Ok....I am in. I have not done this before but I wanted to lose 20 pounds before June 17th.....

The way things are going I might be able to do it sooner. My Memorial Day Goal is to be in the 230s which I have not seen in over six or seven years.

Hi, I'd like to join the Memorial Day Challenge too! Since there are only 5 weeks to go, I'm setting a goal of 8 pounds. This would get me into the 250's, and lower than I've been in almost 3 years. Yikes! I'm just starting to get serious, so perhaps this mini-challenge will spur me on to bigger goals! I'm planning to try to follow the YOU plan. I have to head over to that support group as well to introduce myself. Thanks for the support! :)

Boy, it's going to be tough for me to make it. I have almost 9 to go to make it. With my little back injury, I had a setback with my exercise. I'm going to try to make it, but not kill myself if I don't make it.

IF I stay strictly OP, I'm still on track. Big if; the last couple of weeks, I've been straining the limits of this plan, and weight loss is not quite as quick, as a result. That's okay, though, as I will lose the weight soon enough, even without setting any timed mini-goals.

You've all done so well! I on the other hand have not done very well at all, I've only lost about 2lbs, but at least I haven't gained. I dread to think how much I would have gained if I hadn't actively been trying to lose.

It seems that I was a bit overzealous when I set my M.D. mini-goal. At this point, it doesn't seem likely that I'll make it. At least I'm moving in the right direction. Live and learn...I'll take this as a lesson to take things slowly and work on more appropriate goals! :)

I have lost 6. Well, I was having some problems, went right back to wher I started, had 10 to lose for my memorial day goal all over again. Well, I lost all that I gained back plus 2 more lbs. Yay! I think I can hit this goal. I am so excited! Everyone is doing great!

I'm not going to make it. I lost too much ground when I hurt my back. But, I'm lower in weight than when I made the goal, so that's good. I think I had a pretty tough goal to make anyway, but it just turned out that it wasn't meant to be. Unless, of course, I can lose 7 pounds this week! ha!

Well, I surpassed my goal to lose 10 lbs over the past 6 weeks and I just have to brag that I lost 3.5 pounds last week while on my first cruise, proving that it IS possible to LOSE weight on a cruise while not missing out on any yummy food! :D

I don't know if I will make my goal or not. I was up 2 pounds on Wednesday, putting me 4.5 pounds from goal. My computer died Tuesday night, so I will not be able to post my weight loss until next Tuesday, when I get back to work. Congrats to all that have made (or passed!) their goal. And to all that didn't, but have not given up!

due to some ups and downs... mostly ups on the scale... I'm definitely not making my goal. great job to everyone who did, or at least made more progress than I did. Hopefully now working with the nutritionist will help me start losing.

I did not make my goal. However, I think we have figured out that in addition to all my other medical concerns, I have sleep apnea. I'm going to see a doc for it, but I read where it can be the reason people can't seem to lose weight--ALLELUIA!!!! Finally an answer that makes sense.

Me: I didnt make my goal. I did lose 11 pounds. I am happy with that. I have taken the time to analyze my diet and I know what I need to do to knock it out the box!!

SAPF, hope the docs can help with your sleep apnea. I, too, have heard it can be a reason for low or no weight loss in addition to being pretty darned dangerous. Glad it was discovered.
