Default W.O.W.'s Mother's Day Challenge Week 2 Thread

Hi gals!!! Hope everyone had a fabulous Easter weekend, looks like our thread was a little quiet over the weekend.

Oh and do feel free, ANYONE, to start the new weekly thread if you wake up early enough, this morning the kids went downstairs and played nicely with their new Easter stuff and let me sleep in a bit. Ahhh nice! Now of course the house is up and hopping.

I am so frustrated with myself and my EATING yesterday! I was a total vaccuum! Oh okay truth be told, it just about started Saturday night. Went to the bowling league, wasn't going to drink, but someone buys me ONE and it just SNOWBALLS from there! NOT TO MENTION I was drinking Jager Bombs (sp?) all that Red Bull.....omg I could NOT sleep that night! Plus the fast food run, the drinking the staying awake, the peanut butter eggs...LOL...I wasn't too upset overall with Saturday since at least I went to the gym, but Sunday after the big dinner I literally just graaaaaazed all day long. Why, oh why, do we leave the food out all day to be picked over? Strangely enough, there were only TWO desserts but I went back for ham and potatoes/noodles all day long, not to mention the devilled eggs, where you can just cram one or two in your mouth on the spot.

Enough with the food porn....LOL..sorry. But I did change my workout around. Please comment if you can. It really depends on who trains you and tells you what you should do. My last trainer was all about, very little to no cardio~she said it would exhaust your muscles before the lifting (I should have known that was bogus right then and there~most of my own wt loss to date was attributed to cardio!) So my cardio was cut waaay back to about ten minutes before and 10-15 after...which is not too bad. So the new plan is 15-20 min cardio before and after....The old trainer was all about lifting as much weight as you possibly can and just lifting as many reps as you can total before exhausting, around 8-10 reps. But this weekend I was taught to cut the weight waaaay back and upping the reps. And I'm training as a "circuit", there are four to six exercises, I do 10-15 reps on each and move quickly onto the next move. That way I'm not bored doing 3 sets of 10 reps all in a row, I do all my moves, one set, repeat, repeat, around in a circle. Plus I'm finding that the lower weights (8lb or 12lb rather than the 20-25 I could lift before).....feels so good! I'm still getting the "sore" feeling that I'm really doing something, it's not "too easy" and I really do feel the burn. I'm really exciting hoping I'll see some real changes soon.

OMG I am doing these crazy squat-jump things and they are killer!

This week's schedule....(not so much for your reading pleasure as my own plan)....today I have the kids all day so probably no gym time, work tonight. Tomorrow I can wake up and do the gym (OK, truthfully, I WANT to wake up early like 12 noon, and go play poker at 1pm, get the kids and go to the gym after 5pm, either way I WILL gym, one time or the other....bad girl!) Go to bed at usual time Tuesday, have Rachel all day Wednesday so no gym Wed unless the in-laws have her and I go, I don't usually do that though, work Wed night, get up go to gym Thursday (I usually don't like to go between 2 shifts in a row, but this new motivation might get me up and make me go) work Thursday night, get up Friday, can definitely go then, Saturday morning is Robert's bowling banquet, but I can gym after that, my bowling league Saturday night~the LAST week of our league! But we locked up FIRST PLACE last weekend!

So long story short, I should be able to workout 4 days this week.

Oh here's a funny story, I mentioned that we locked up first place at bowling this weekend but let me tell ya, IT WASN'T BECAUSE OF ME! LOL, So we would lock it up if we won TWO games...we won the first game, then the second game I pulled out a WHOPPING 101----I average 165!!! And we TIED that game!! LOL DH says, Geez couldn't you bowl a freakin 102? LOL but we went on to win the next one...but 101! OMG.

OK enough for now....tons of cleaning around here, recovery from the weekend. Hope to see you all pop in soon xoxooxoMichelle

I ate more than I should have on Sunday. I made the potaot salad with lite Miracle Whip and lite sour cream so it wasn't as bad as it could have been. I ate a half slice of ham and NO noodles or mashed potaotes. I had whole wheat rolls and only had 1. I did manage to eat 2 deviled eggs, but also used the lite Miracle Whip in them so they weren't as bad as they could have been either. Notice how I'm justifing my bad eating LOL. I made a fresh fruit salad for dessert so that was good. I did have 3 glasses of Arbor Mist too. One bad thing about cooking holiday dinners in you have the left overs in the house days after the holiday is gone.

The 2 younger grandkids are here today. No school for the younger kids today. They are practicing their new Heelies in my living room. I'm expecting the youngest one to knock his loose tooth out before the day is over.

Michelle- Congrats on the bowling. Don't eat too much at Robert's banquet.
Sounds like you have the usual busy week ahead.

Michelle ~ It's been forever since I went bowling. Sounds like you kicked some booty!

Paula ~ OMGosh those Heelies are so flipping annoying to me....at least when my BFF's nephew Kristopher has his own. Lil demon. Oh you just HAD to mention the deviled eggs...one of my holiday weaknesses. Add sweet potato pie and I am DONE!

I did alright over the holiday. We went ot my mom's. I only had one plate with ham and all the trimmings. I left all the leftovers at her house. It was the peanut butter eggs and marshmellow eggs that kept calling my name. I had my DH hide the big peanut butter eggs from me yesterday. Now, we have all that candy. I haven't touched any of it today. After a couple of days, I won't even notice it.

Despite the weekend, I am at a 2 lb. loss for the week. I believe I have lost more this time around than I have at my previous attempts.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Michelle--Hurray for your bowling team locking in 1st place. I know what you mean by bowling that 101. Last Tues., I bowled a 206 our first game. The other two I just bowled something in my 130's. But, I got a 200 before the end of the season. We have 2 more nights on Tuesdays. My Sunday night league is over. We did palce first in the second quarter though. Lost the roll-off.
I already told the girls on Tues. nights that I won't be bowling next year. I will have a lot on my plate next year and won't have time for it. I still plan on bowling Sunday (mixed league). I really enjoy that one more.
Paula--What are Heelies?
Heelies are tennis shoes with wheels in the heels.
Congrats on the loss even after the Holiday.
well it looks like i'll be the one to put the dang home gym together *sighs* I really wanna get going but it's hard to do when I'm not getting help.
I'm tired of feeling like a rabbit...salad after salad after salad. I have a small snack salad and a lunch salad. i stay full for the most part though. dinner usually doesn't have much salad since i've eaten it twice early in the day.
any suggestions? I think I'm gonna head to borders to see if they have the new Jorge Cruise 3 hr diet cookbook. I have a giftcard for Borders from christmas time that i'd like to use.
Hi gang,
How's everyone doing? It's looking a little slim around here. I hope all is well. Easter was great! I managed to not go overboard, although I still have leftovers. My cousin came over and ate with us. I was hoping he would take some home, but he decided he'd come back tonight and eat with us. Well at least I don't have as much. I've decided that I will probably cut the rest of the ham up and use the bone to make some beans. At least that's something I can eat on my plan. Then I can freeze the ham for the hubby. The kids will eat the mac n cheese and I can munch on the black eyed peas and greens.
To make up for some of my eating I did the advanced Tae bo this morning and the 2 mile walk and jog WATP and 1 mile WATP this evening. That Tae bo kicked my bottom, as my DD would say. Now I rembered why I hadn't done it in a while. I did it at my own pace and it was still tough. I was dripping in sweat.
ok so I have a funny for you all. I was doing the walk and jog and duing the jog segment they start doing this side to side thing with their legs. I attempted to do it but felt something slap my upper thighs. I continued and finally decided to do low impact. My tummy, which I thought I had tightened was flapping up and down so wildly it almost took me out. Anybody got any suggestions on some type of tummy bra? I am going to try and do it again tomorrow, but this time with some kind of girdled panty
So because I tend to spend too much time on the computer during the day, I am going to do my WEED tonight and then just check things out quickly before I begin my day. I can overdo anything (thus the weight issue).
W-Did it today. 64 oz. Get some fist thing in the am. Ice cold seems to be working best.
E-45 minutes outside if I can get up and moving before the DH goes to work. If not, 2.5 walk and jog WATP and 2 mile WATP in PM. gotta get the metabolism going.
E-More veggis. Got to get to the store. My dd says we don't have nuffin to eat.
D-Get laundry put away and upstairs clean. Got the downstairs done today.
Hope everyone is busy moving and shakin. I have truely enjoyed the thread and the challenges. I met my last one and I don't plan on giving up hope on this one. I said 12 lbs, and that's what I am shooting for.
Talk at you chicks later.
Good morning everyone. I still have the kiddies home for spring break. Just 2 more days and life will start getting back to normal. Whatever "normal" is. As of yesterday's weigh-in I am down 5 lbs to 168lbs.. I am very happy to be in the 160's. Very. Keep on plugging away everyone.
W - 8 - 10 glasses
E- lots
E - not lots
Have a great day/week everyone!!!! Healthy, safe and productive.
Thumbs up Late, but I'm here
After a gentle "nudge," I'm here.
I got WHALLOPED by all kinds of things, such that life has become a whirlwind (a very stressful one!)... so I unfortunately had to take a break from 3FC for a while. I'm good now, though, and although I may not be here to post as often, I do want to ease my way back in, if that's okay...
I'd like to join my fellow W.O.W.'s in the Mother's Day Challenge... since Mother's Day is about a month away, I'm going to see if I can lose five pounds before then. It's getting harder and harder, and I'm finding myself discouraged more and more often, but it is slowly coming off. Perseverence!
BTW, the film did not make me a superstar - yet.
Hi WOWies! Are we all getting back on track after the Easter buffet? LOL, why, oh WHY, do we put all the food out, and LEAVE it out so we can GRAZE all day?!?!?! I will say I got a little munchy waiting for the schoolbus this morning, I get off work, and only have to stay up for 20-30 minutes waiting to put Robert on the bus, but that is a big weakness time for me! Gotta watch that! I'm thinking about adding a protein shake around 5am to get me through that morning hump, I eat "lunch" around 1am so it makes sense I'm pretty hungry by the time I go home. Sometimes I eat an instant oatmeal or an apple in the morning.
LBWO today, OMG those jumping squats are NUTS! Hoping to be feeling that later.
OMG I almost went to Chipotle yesterday! LOL I adore my little brother, he's two years younger than me, and he lives in Cincinatti (about 4 hrs from me) going to school and I MISS him so much! He can't afford to come home often but he did come home over the holiday, and he is all about how much he LOVES Chipotle....can you tell we are related!? So he wanted to go there Monday for lunch, and I was all set to budget it in, and he called and said he didn't have a ride or any money. So I missed that bullet....LOL but that damn place is in my mind now! CHIPOTLE IS EVIL!
It might actually be warm enough for a walk around the neighborhood tonight, we'll see. I smelled a grill this afternoon! MMMM Talk to you all later xoxooxoxox Michelle
