Happy Hump Day, Ladies! :D
Tina - love the new avatar! You look so sassy! Good luck at the dr next week.
Amy - how's it going today? Do you have a plan for success today? Making a food journal the night before, or right after breakfast works for me, maybe that would help you, too. When it's time to eat, I just look at it and all the guesswork is gone. Personally, I just use school paper in a 3-ring binder for my journal.
Sue - yay for your NSV avoiding the chips. :cp:
Cristina - thank you for the card - you're a sweetie. You and I bought the same stickers, lol. Great minds think alike, right, lol. So do you think you'll get the family room done today?
Sassy - we had a terrible storm! Hail the size of marbles, and awful winds. The lights flickered a couple of times, but never did go out. I was glad, because I had chicken in the crock pot, lol.
Mindee - I'm hoping little Marissa stays put until she's all the way "cooked", lol. Same with my DGS Jackson. Gina is under a lot of stress right now, so I worry.
Hello to everyone else.
As I told Sassy, we had some horrific storms here yesterday. We were right in the line of tornadic winds, and it hailed for awhile. Scary business. I haven't heard whether any towns nearby were affected.
Gina's father is at death's door. If you remember, he has cancer everywhere now, and he told the family yesterday that he thinks he has only a few days to live. Hospice has been a true Godsend, helping with everything. Gina said his color is awful, and he has begun to have a rattle in his chest. So please, if you will, pray that his death will be peaceful, that Gina will be able to hold up through all this, and that little Jackson will wait a few weeks to be born, and not come early.
I'm doing well with the food and everything. Feels great.

Well, TOM finally showed up today. I thought is was suppose to come Sunday....so I've just had the cravings/cramps/and backaches...I don't dare weigh during this time. I just have a lot of bookwork to do today...I might sneak in a little laying out in the sun today tho...:) It's been so beautiful here lately. Sun shining...I just love it. I am definately a summer person. I hate to be cold!!!
Thanks Jane~ not sassy...just a little silly maybe. I need to take another one. haha!
Amy~ I hope you have a great day today. Don't worry about the scale just get back on track. It's not a bad thing to go off track here and there if you get right back on. It's the falling off and not coming back that hurts. So you'll be just fine!
04-04-2007, 03:45 PM
Just wanted to pop in to say hi to all--DH has been like a bear with a sore arse for several days now and as usual I am an easy target. I just don't have much to say right now. I have gone to the gym both monday & tuesday and walked 2 miles each night along with the crunch machine maybe him being grumpy is good--I go to the gym to get out of the house!!!
04-04-2007, 04:28 PM
Hey There Hi There Ho There:wave:
Hope Everyone had a Nice Weekend...I kept busy with Hubby, he got home around 10 am on Saturday, had a mountain of laundry to be done and then we had to go grocery shopping for him, we got the taxes done while he was home and finally got our vacation plans finalized, we decided to go to WDW
in Sept again, we really enjoyed the Not So Scary Halloween Party last year so we decided to go at the same time again...He left for Chicago last nite and wasn't really too happy about it LOL, but he's always grumpy the first couple of days out...it's COLD and windy and the weather channel keeps saying flurries( I know where they can stick those!!), TOM is FINALLY gone...didn't bother to weigh last week but did this morning and was happy to see I stayed the same...missed 2 days of walking so I will have to make them up during the month...Well I've blathered long enough, Have a Great Day All
04-04-2007, 04:30 PM
JANE...not doing anything around the house today except a couple loads of laundry. Will work on the family room and Josh's this weekend, had too many errands to run this morning. So sorry to hear about Gina's dad...will definitely say a prayer for the family.
JULES...sorry DH was being a bear. But WTG on the 4 miles! :woohoo:
SUE...WTG on your walking as well. :carrot:
SASSY...hope the storms have passed. I think we are supposed to get some rain this evening. THe temp sure changed though. It was 83 Monday and then 65 yesterday. Dropped to the 50's today but with the wind blowing it feels cold. Had to turn the heater/furnace back on.
MINDEE...I think Happy Feet is a good theme fo ra BD party. I want to see the movie...it looks cute.
4AMY...good for you missy for jumping back on the horse.
TINA...forgot to mention your avatar yesterday. Great picture! One day I will put my mug up there, not sure though. Can't find a pic I like.
Hi to everyone else
Thought I would do my grocery shopping today instead of tomorrow since it is supposed to rain. Had to run to Hallmark as well. V's BD is next week and they have some gag gifts for the BIG 5-0! Had to return something to Penneys catalog department. I ordered a rooster for the kitchen and they sent an Asian girl thing (UPS guy just dropped it off, lol). Then dropped some sheers off to be shortened and on and on. Thought I would try to do everything today but it didn't happen. Still going to have a couple of things to take care of tomorrow. DD and I are going to see Reign Over Me...think that is the name of it. The movie with Adam Sandler. But...I am loving our new house and neighborhood...just thought I would throw that in there, lol. We met the president of the hoa, and a lady from the welcoming committee Monday evening. They dropped by the house with a big wandering jew plant and card. I thought that was sweet. I put it on the deck on the table.
Take care ladies and have a wonderful day!
EDITED: to say HI to PINK JANE! Sorry DH isn't happy with going to Chicago. Don't even mention that four letter word! LOL No snow here...although they mentioned it on the news last night. Way north of us there was a chance.
04-04-2007, 04:58 PM
Good Afternoon Ladies!!
Jane--So sorry to hear about Gina's Dad. I hope things work out for your family. The stress must be unbelievable. Several years ago my ex-SIL was pregnant with twins and her mother was terminal with cancer and she died 2 days after the babies were born. We swore that she waiting until those babies were born and knew that everything was alright before she finally let go and went to heaven. My prayers are with you.
Amy--I'm right with you girl. I've been very unmotivated lately. Haven't even been on the scale for almost 2 weeks. I think we all go through these slumps from time to time. I'll get back on the horse, I know I will and you will too. Just don't beat up on yourself. I think I need to try on last year's swimsuits and start marking the calendar till my beach vacation. That should motivate me.
Cristina, Sue & Marti-- I am so pleased with my Canadel furniture. It can be a little pricey but so well made. It will surely be the last dinette set and stools that I will ever need to buy.
Sorry ladies for the quickie post today. I''ve just gotten back from all day of running with my Mom. She has two doc appts and then I had to rush her home so I could make it to the dentist in time. I have about 1/2 hr until DH comes home and then it's off to dance tonight. We had those terrible storms run through here about 4 this morning. My poor little Oliver (yorkie-schnauzer) was trembling and wiggling his way between me and dh. Cody (bischon) was oblivious.
I'm happy to see that everyone seems to be doing well and staying on track with eating and exercise. It's been difficult keeping up with everyone lately. They have cut off alot of our internet access at the hospital due to the Joint Commission due any day for an inspection. It won't even load the webpage :( By the time I get home at night, I barely have time to get ready for the next day.
I do have a question for everyone???? How do you respond to private messages. Jane--I know that you sent me one and others have asked for addresses and email addresses but computer-challenged me can't figure it out. Also, where do you all get the cute avatars? Well it looks like my quickie post has turned into a novel. Speaking of novels...I have been reading books by Laura Lippman. She is like Patricia Cornwell. Lippman is from the Baltimore area and all her books take place in my area so while reading them, you can visualize all the places that she talks about.
Ok, gotta go and dance with my man!! Hope everyone's evening is great. Pray that Sanjaya gets the boot tonight on Idol!! A big hug to all that I missed. You'll hear more from me on Friday, finally my day off!!
04-04-2007, 04:59 PM
Cristina--we must have been posting at the same time. Isn't it funny that we both made the remark about getting back on the horse!! Were we separated at birth??
04-04-2007, 08:00 PM
Tammy - are you asking how to send and open PMs? If so, here's how: to send a PM to someone, first click on their blue username that is in the upper left hand corner of their post. When the menu list drops down, click on Send a PM to Whoever, and then just follow the steps. To open a PM, just click on the Private Messages prompt in the upper right hand corner of this or any main page. Hope this helps.
04-04-2007, 09:00 PM
Wow! Talk about Temperature Change! Holy Moly! Its SNOWING! :yikes: The wind is blowing, this is just plain weird!
Of course with all this blasted weather my back and DH's knees are killing us! Can't wait until the weather finally makes up its mind! lol.
I hope you all are doing well.
04-04-2007, 10:21 PM
Darn the weather! It was 32 degrees this morning while we were taking Mom to the airport. Came home and took Baby out for 15 minutes and just about froze. Later when I checked it was 29 degrees. Yikes, needless to say after 3 10 or 15 minute walks around the house throughout the day I passed on a longer walk. It wouldn't have been so bad, as I have walked when it was cold before, but the wind was fierce! At least I ate fairly well today...only did 10 minutes of stretches. ugh.
And we did have snow flurries....
04-05-2007, 12:41 AM
nothing really new here....Tommy came home from work on Wednesday not feeling good. He talked to another guy at his work, who was having the same symptoms, and that guys girlfriend just found out that she has influenza A, not sure what that means, I thought there was only one kind of the flu. But he came home, I made him some chicken noodle soup, he sat out with us for about a half hour and then went to bed. He just woke up a couple minutes to go to the bathroom. He said his stomach feels better, but now he has a headache. The boys were trying to give him kisses on the lips like they normally do. Logan kept getting mad because Tommy would turn his lips away so Logan would get his cheek.
Jane~ I was just reading an email actually, and on Monday when I start my 38th week, they consider me ready for baby time. So, I will be ripe for the plucking as some say.
04-05-2007, 12:53 AM
Just poppin' in quickly ladies....I'm sorry but that seems like that's what I'll be doing for most of this month while trying to organize, get ready for the move and work! How do people do it???
I try to pop in to at least keep up w/the news. And when I get spare time, I will post more. For now....I'm bushed and ready to hit the hay.
Hugs to each of you!
04-05-2007, 02:15 AM
Hey could some of you guys go and vote for my daughter. She's in a contest for Smashbox cosmetics. ;) Thanks if you do...in advance. ;)
Marti- AW...Sorry you are so busy. Don't forget some "ME" time in all of your hectic paced days.
Mindee- Hope Tommy gets feeling better and that you nor the boys get the bug.
Sassy- Yikes...It got cold here too. Hope your back feels better. My joints ache today and I always thought it was because of the damp...but now it is just cold.
Tina- We are still looking at stools. Went to an Amish furniture store yesterday and the wood ones are beautiful. I'm not sure what we will get.
Jane- Are you surviving the cold? We didn't get the storm...just the dropping temps. Brrrrrr.
Cristina- I went and looked at your pictures...had seen them when you put them up earlier. Still love the house...:) Really love the family room. Are you putting curtains at the bay in the breakfast area? I am trying to decide what to do with our bay.....it is in the back so no "peepers" but the sun does shine in when we are eating sometimes and shoots right for the eyes. I like all the windows uncovered for the light...but then they look so stark. Decisions, decisions.
Took Baby out and we both shivered. I keep hoping the sun will shine before I need to take her for her long walk....but it looks doubtful. I need exercise today!! Eating is OK so far. (multigrain english muffin)
04-05-2007, 11:11 AM
How is everyone today? :)
I am pretty good today! The weather has been so beautiful lately. And i'm heading over to even more beautiful weather tomarrow. I'll bring my computer tho. haha! It's Laguna for a couple of days and then palm desert. I love it there because it's far from the stress etc. And I can relax and go for walks! And on Monday/Tuesday i'm meeting with the dr. platt drs. office. I'll tell you what they have to say about my health. (something I really haven't thought about in a looooong time)
Sue- Thank you for voting for her. I've been trying to help her gather more votes. If she gets into the top 50 she goes to the NEXT ROUND. :) I hope she does!
Marti- I couldn't do it! haha! Last time I moved I swore I'd never move again.
Mindee-You better not get sick. With my youngest I had the flu and it put me into labor early. And I barely had the strength to deliver him. I was so exhausted from being sick and then being in labor....and the dr. said that my flu was what put me into labor early. He was due November 5th and I had him on October 23rd....Hmmmph! Stay well!
Christina-this is just a silly picture. I thought well, if people don't love me for the goofy person I really am then...well it'd be their loss...LOL!
Everyone else...I'll check back later today. Have a super day!
04-05-2007, 11:12 AM
Good morning, ladies...
TINA...I voted for your daughter. I like her motto...going to have to remember that one.
TAMMY...funny, about the horse comment. A lot of my avatars I find online. I like to change them up regularly. I just google avatars/icons...even found art/prints and use them as well. Plus pictures once in a while. Hope you had fun dancing with DH.
MARTI...hope you got some sleep. Any news on the house?
MINDEE...you be careful too arouond Tommy. You sure don't want to get the flu. And yes there are different strains of the flu.
SASSY...they are talking about a mix of snow and rain here today. What the heck happened? Go from 83 one day and today it's supposed to be 43 but with the wind, brrrr. Stay warm.
SUE...I went ahead and ordered white wood blinds for the bayed window. But will be putting a sheer on the small windows and pulling them back and then adding valances. Exactly...decisions, decisions. I kept going back and forth but then the sun finally came out and that decided for me, lol. We get the sun in the evening and it shines right on the tv in the living room. I was going to leave the kitchen window open since no one can see up on this floor...again, was cooking and doing some dishes and I was having to dodge that evening sun. Living room we get the sun in the morning and I'm not usually in there other than cleaning so I am sticking with curtains there. Looks like a lot of us are having the same weather.
JANE...how is Mary doing? And Gina...how is she holding up?
Hi to everyone else  Check in with us when you can.
Not much going on with me today. Thought I would jump on the 'puter for a little while before heading to the movies later. I have been wanting to see this movie. There's a couple others I want to see as well, in time. It is cold, and cloudy here today. They keep saying snow with rain and I am thinking...snow? Snow? Of course I heard a guy on the radio a week ago, it was a guy from a nursery answering peoples questions. He said to be careful buying and planting flowers too soon because we may have a freeze. Last year I lost some flowers because I planted too early and we had a late freeze plus a hail storm. Anywho...going to go get a walk in before heading out.
Take care ladies and have a great day!
04-05-2007, 07:12 PM
Happy Evening Ladies!!
Mindee--How are you feeling?? Have you started to clean everything in site yet? Stay well!!
Pink Jane--I've never been to WDW. Been all over the country and beyond, just never made it there. Waiting for grandkids!!
Jules--I believe men have their TOM!! :tantrum: But it's much worse than women.
Cristina--How's Josh?? A co-worker of mine, who just got married at Christmas, has a husband in Ranger school in GA. The poor gal hasn't even lived with her husband yet and is terrified that they will deploy him soon. My heart goes out to all of you. It's been fun listening to all your decorating!!
Jane--Thanks for the info on PM. I'm so dumb!! How's Gina's FIL?
Sassy--Snow!!! Yikes!! We may have a little blast tomorrow night.
Tina--I voted for your beautiful daughter. I love you avatar!!
Sue--I think you were talking to me about the stools. I love the Amish furniture. Do you have an Amish Mart with food and stuff or just the furniture. We have both.
I big hello  to all that I missed. I played hooky :s: today from work. I call it my "Mental Health Day" I haven't "called out sick" for months and months and just needed a day for myself. I got alot accomplished. Hit the bank, went to the Amish mart for easter goodies and bought a yummy roasted chicken for dinner tonight. I bought a few desserts that after everyone eats their share for easter, I'll pack up the leftovers and send them out to my sister's and mom's. I took the boys (my pups) for a long walk. We are having a winter blast of cold weather like everyone else. You mid-westerner's always seem to send your weather to the east coast!! I have to go out and cover my pansies. It's the only thing that I have planted with our unpredictable weather.
I'm sure that I'll talk more before Easter but just in case, I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter Sunday!! :easter2:
04-05-2007, 07:56 PM
Just a quick fly by...it's SNOWING! This weather is crazy! Supposed to have a hard freeze tonight and tomorrow night. Ugh! Been snowing now for about 4 hours. DD and I went into the show and nothing. 2 hours later...snow, yikes. It's not sticking to the streets but it is to the grass. Oh, and the movie was GREAT! I LOVE Adam Sandler! He did an excellant job in this movie...made me cry.
TAMMY...Josh is fine. He was really frustrated a few weeks ago but is heading back to his original station since being deployed. Was in the BIG dessert for about 3 weeks, a month on a mission. Just heard from him this past Sunday and Monday and he was in a better mood. I worry so much about him and the others. I feel for your co-worker...lots of hugs to her and her hubby. Hopefully, he won't be deployed. They are supposed to be bringing troops home so will keep my fingers crossed for him. :crossed:
Only have a few minutes...the office is getting ready to start.
Hugs
04-05-2007, 08:06 PM
Tina - I voted for your DD. She is very pretty.
Hello to everyone else.
Sorry I haven't been online today but I'm stressed! Gina had to go to the hospital w/contractions, and was there for several hours, but they finally let her go when the contractions subsided.
Gina's dad is worse.
One of our most beloved parishioners past away yesterday.
A very good friend's husband died yesterday with a sudden heart attack.
I'm still OP, but it's hard. :(
Tomorrow is going to be so busy with 2 viewings at the funeral homes, since one of them is over in Illinois. If I get a chance, I'll check in. If not, I'll be back when I can.
04-05-2007, 08:10 PM
Jane! Wow....you are holding up great for all that you are going through. My prayers and thoughts are with you and just know that we all are here for you! Thanks for the vote btw. :) But seriously you take care of yourself through this stressful time youre going through.
04-05-2007, 09:38 PM
Jane- My thoughts are with you ...drive carefully tomorrow and be safe. Hope Gina holds on a little longer and is well.
Tammy- Yes, I was talking to you about the stools. I swear I am having more senior moments lately. We don't have an Amish Mart that I am aware of, sounds very cool. I was just told of another Amish store though and plan to go there. We decided we were not going for the stools we saw yesterday.
Cristina- I have looked at wood blinds and really like them. I also like plantation shutters, but don't know if they would "go" with our style. (and I don't know what our style is...eclectic...homemade..hmmm) I do like the blinds that I got for the bedrooms, but don't know how long they will last. They were a temporary fix so we could move in.
I walked 1.5 miles today..even tho it was in the low 30's and windy. I just couldn't go that extra little bit for 2 miles. Baby walked with me a short while...but finally stopped and looked at me like I was nuts and headed back to the house. LOL It is going to get colder, so I don't know if I will get to walk for a few days. I made chicken veggie soup today, which was very good. I told DH he can eat as much as he wants as often as he wants it is so low cal.
Hope all of you ladies are keeping warm and safe where you are.
04-05-2007, 11:29 PM
"We're havin a heat wave, a tropical heat wave"
YIKES it's COLD!!!! bbbrrr we made it all the way up to a balmy 36 today...wind is still blowin it's 30 now on it's way down to 16...just talked to Hubby and he's somewhere in Ohio and it's snowing so hard he had to stop, so needless to say he is not a happy camper...the boy had the day off so I didn't have to go out and that made me happy...I hate the cold!!...I puttered around here all day and then got my 60 mins in on the treadmill...watched another new CSI and now I am off to bed...Have a Good Nite All
Jane - My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours
Tina - I voted for your daughter she is Gorgeous!
Tammy - I've never taken kids with and every time I see people with kids I am glad I didn't take any LOL that will change if I ever get any grand kids I am sure LOL
Cristina - I am glad the snow missed me LOL...glad to hear the movie was good, that is one I would like to see too
Sue - Bbbrrr it's way too cold out to be walking...Your soup sounds very yummy
04-06-2007, 03:47 AM
I managed to stay away from Tommy and not get sick. (knock on wood) I have however, started to swell in my legs like I did with Brandon. So, if I don't go into labor before my next doctors appointment then I am going to definitely voice my concern about the swelling. I was induced with Brandon because my legs had swelled so bad that it hurt to walk. Tommy has a three day weekend. Friday he wants to go to his parents house so he can do an oil change on the van. Then we will be back at Wal-Mart, I think with this trip I will get one of those motorized carts instead of walking to see if that helps my legs any. Saturday we are going to go up north and see my parents. Sunday, we are going to go back to my in-law's house for Easter.
Tina~ I voted for your DD.
04-06-2007, 11:09 AM
Mindee- Thanks for the vote :) I have a foot that swells up all the time...well it's always swollen. But a good foot massage and if you can put your feet up for a few hours would be good. I feel for you there. It can be painful. But yours will eventually go away after you sweet girl is born. So hang in there! Wow...I'm so excited!
Pink Jane- Thank you too for the vote! :) She needs a lot of them....some of these girls have like thousand on their myspaces. So i"m trying to help her get votes. You girls are amazing!
Hey Ladies! I weighed in on my 'official' scale this morning. Because I'm not going to be able to until I get back next Wednesday and I was down 1.5 pounds! This puts me at 22.5 pounds in 6 weeks! I'm really excited! Yeah! I'm going to dance now...:carrot: (haha)
Well, off to laguna beach and then palm desert for me and 3 of my kids. My DH has to stay here and help at the store (togos) and watch our 2 dogs. Ha! I think he'll enjoy the break however....peace and quiet.
TTY all Later! I WILL be checking in tho.
04-06-2007, 12:15 PM
Mindee- It's getting exciting for all of us now that we are on "baby watch" lol Will you have your husband post when the baby is here so we will know?
I am so sick of the cold. I can't seem to get warm. I have had a busy week- kids on Spring Break, I have been really busy with work and dog sitting my parent's 2 brats. I had a job interview today- I came away feeling really good about it. He told me had had to pray about it, which I really appreciate. He had 2 other interviews to do but said he really liked me.
Not much else going on. Haven't done any extra exercising, well besides walking the dogs, but I haven't counted min like I should have this week.
04-06-2007, 01:44 PM
Happy Good Friday Ladies!!
Jane--Sounds like you have a few very emotional and difficult days ahead. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Ladies...gotta share some interesting new with ya'll. Seems like my first love of over 30 years ago has tracked me down. He lives in TN while I am in MD. Now don't get me wrong here...I am crazy in love with my DH but it really is an ego booster to know that he has been thinking about me after all these years. We both went throught divorces about the same time and I tried to find him but had no luck at that time. It's really interesting that this has happened at this time when I have been struggling with getting over the loss of a very close friendship with what I thought was my very best girlfriend. I have very honest with him and told him that I am very happy with my life and would like to stay in touch to just be friends. My sisters and dh know about him. I don't have to worry about dh getting jealous...he golfs with a few ladies every weekend. I call one of them "his weekend wife" lol. Isn't the internet a wonderful thing. We have all found each other through this forum and give each other daily encouragment, advice and good ol' sisterly love. This guy found me through Reunion.com.
Well I finally got myself back on the elliptical today and I feel great. Took the boys for a long walk. Ran to the grocery store which was wicked busy and ate a healthy lunch. Going to attack my basement family room and clean up stuff down there after watching Days of our Lives. I'm making a stuffed pork loin roast that I bought at the amish mart for dinner and then heading to Kohls for their sale tonight.
Have a wonderful afternoon!!
04-06-2007, 03:27 PM
2 whole days back in control with my eating and i had a great workout on the elliptical and bike.thank you all you great people who supported me through my down time.my weight has gone back to where it was so i may even:carrot: be down on monday(hopefully). have a great day.
04-06-2007, 04:32 PM
JANE... thank you for the easter card. I am a little confused about the note on the back of the card though. I thought I put your correct address. The one I have in my address book is the same one you have on your address label...is it different? 7779. And if you have mine in your computer for the labels you left out S and ST. that might be helpful since most of the streets around here are the same name, except St. Circle & Court. Of course when I ordered labels I didn't know the official mailing address should have ST. Anyway...sorry to hear about everything going on in your life right now. Lots of thoughts and prayers to you all and lots of hugs too!
SUE...I think the wood blinds and the plantation shutters go with all styles. We thought about those for the living room for a more formal look but not so much. But with the windows we have it would be hard to do and me like it. We have the windows that crank out so that crank on the two windows that open we would have to put the shutters above that and I don't think I would like it. WTG on your walking! :carrot: You are doing a great job!
4AMY...WTG on your 2 days in control! :woohoo:
JODI...was wondering why you hadn't posted much. I guess I think that when we have spring break here everyone has it the same time, duh.
TAMMY...I think that is awesome about your ex. I myself couldn't be friends with an ex. I think for me the feelings would resurface and cause chaos. Of course the feelings have always been there and always will be and DH knows about that but still I wouldn't want the ex to contact me. But I think that is wonderful news for you that you guys can be friends. And yes...the internet is a wonderful thing!
Hi to everyone else
Nothing much going on. Pretty boring day today for me. Had to go order some balloons and a cake for V and that's about it. Did a load of laundry...as I said, pretty boring day for me.
Have a good day ladies! Chat soon
04-06-2007, 04:59 PM
Just a quickie..haven't long been back from the Cheescake Factory...so I won't talk about my food intake :-)
Jane---So so sorry about your week...I hope Gina is Ok and so sorry about your losses...please keep us posted.
Tina- I voted and I sent it to my daughter to have her friends vote too..she really is beautiful.
Marti--Hello to you too...

Vann--I have never been to a cheesecake factory, though I really like cheese cake.
Cristina--Happy Bday to V!! Are you doing anything special?? Thank for your new address and the card!! PM me with the address--I keep everyone's in my JL folder.
4amy--I love the elliptical!! I have been good with going to the gym. It's easier now that it isn't pitch black when we get home from work.
Tammy--it sounds like you and your hubby have a great relationship--mine is jealous of guys that I was just friends with!! Now that DH is in a little better mood he said sorry he must be going through manopause!!
Jodi--sending good thoughts your way on the job!!
Tina--I voted for you daughter too--she's beautiful!!
Mindee--I am so excited--all these babies!! Trisha (my niece) has been having braxton hicks contractions! Becky (my friend who wants me to be there with her since her family is 4 hours away) and Penny (my coworker) are both due the beginning of May. All of them are having boys--I thought about you today while I was shopping for shower gifts--they have the cutest little girl outfits!!
Pink Jane--I am definitely ready for the cold to go away and spring to come again after teasing us!!
Sue-I am trying to take the dogs with me and walk up and down our steep 600 ft driveway. They do it alot faster than me and the cold air gets the old dogs frisky and jumping around like they think they are pups!!
Jane--hugs to you and your family and your church family!! you will be in my thoughts!! Thanks for the card!!
Sassy--kisses to you!!
Well my WW weigh in says that I am down another pound--going to the gym must be helping!! now that DH has gotten out of his mood I wil have to find something else to keep me motivated!! I bet I get the "did you lose weight" thing at work Monday--I bought a new bra and the girls are back up where they are suppossed to be and you can actually see my waist again!!

Only got in .5 miles today. It is so bloomin' cold here. I did walk around the yard with Baby in addition to our long walk. She seems to get frisky for the first 5 minutes out there, then looks at me with pleading eyes to come inside. haha... She is still confused about Mom being gone, poor thing. Here she moved twice in 2 months, then took a trip to Vegas and now feels abandoned. She is 10 years old, so basically doesn't do much except watch out the window. She loves when the kids across the street are playing outdoors and she can watch them. Such a cutie. (picture below)
Other than cleaning all my countertops and cabinets, bathrooms, sweeping floors and helping DH hang a new coat rack by the back door I haven't done much today. Food was okay until I HAD to have popcorn earlier....ugh!
Love to hear what you are all doing and hope the week-end is fun for you chickies. I am off to try to find a nursery catalog online.

hello ladies.....still pregnant here.
we did however buy some more things to go into my hospital bag. just some small things like travel size shampoo, tooth paste, tooth brush, lotion, some pink pluggies, some breast pads, and I think that is it for the bag. we did buy some 4oz. bottles size the only one bottle that I have I got in a sample pack from my first visit at my doctor's office. we also bought a three drawer ruber maid container to put her clothes in.
it was snowing here off and on all day Friday. we figured we would see how the roads and things are when we get up on Saturday morning before making the final decision about driving up north. It is suppose to be snowy again, so instead of driving up there and possibly hitting black ice again, we just might stay home and get some of my "nesting" list done. I am also kind of leary driving the two hours up there being this close to my due date and not knowing exactly when she is going to want to show up. On the one hand I want to go up there to get the things from my mom that she bought for Marissa and so that she can see the boys, but on the other hand I don't want to chance it.
As for when I have her, I could leave instructions for Tommy to come on here and let you all know that Marissa has arrived. He might be busy though with chasing the monsters around....although when they go down for their naps he should have a second to get on here. I might just tell Tommy that we should stay home and get things done around here.....and then just have my sister either stop by the house with the stuff from my mom or plan a time when he can swing by and pick the stuff up or she can bring it to the hospital. One way or another we will work something out in order to get it.
04-07-2007, 12:04 PM
Sassy I said that exact thing to my hubby yesterday- that it seemed more like Christmas than Christmas did! I thought we were going to have a blizzard- lol, it was snowing and blowing so hard you could barely see up the road. We had snow on the nice green grass too.
Jules- thanks for the thoughts on the job. I am hoping that the guy doesn't take forever in deciding. Of course I doubt if he would call to tell me I wasn't getting it. I have a lot of work in my job to get done this week. I am going to kick butt to get it all done on Monday and Tues and that way if he should call and want me to start right away, I can already have most if not all of my work done and tell them I quit.
It's still cold here- 23* at noon! brrr.... My parents have been gone for the past several days and I have been taking care of the dogs. My hubby and I went this morning and my parents should be back this afternoon. Couldn't be fast enough for me! I am going to tell them that they can't get another dog if they want me to continue being thier dog sitter- especially one of the dogs is a holy terror! They are both pit bull mixes, the one I really like has no idea she is such a big dog, she likes to sit on your lap, in my case though when she got up on me all you could see was my head and feet! I started calling her a poodle, cause I think that is the size she thinks she is. lol
In a little bit we are going to the in-laws for "Easter" dinner- she is making lasagna- which she can't cook very well and the thought of her lasagna makes me want to hurl- lol. My sister in law kept saying she was bringing ham when mil said she was making lasagna (which she thinks is delicious and noone agrees- lol) so I am holding out hope that sil does bring the ham. haha
Well I have to get going. Hi to everyone!!!!
04-07-2007, 12:38 PM
SUE...Baby is so cute! It is cold here too! :brr: :brr: Ernie is the same way in the cold...2 minutes in or should I say out, lol, he is ready to come back in. At least you got a walk in...I can't take this cold. It probably wouldn't be so bad if the wind wasn't blowing.
JULES...WTG on the pound! :woohoo: Thank you fo rthe BD wishes...his BD is actually next Wednesday and we have no clue what we are doing yet. We will go out to lunch and probably go to the show. He's been wanting to go for a while. May go to a musuem...who knows. If it wasn't so cold we would do something outdoors so we will see. Bet you had fun shopping for the babies! I love looking at all the baby stuff. Maybe one day I will get grandkids.
SASSY...same here...the snow is gone, most of it. There is still a little left up against the neighbors fence. But it is cold! Was supposed to get down to 17 last night and I think it did! :brr: :brr: Hope all is well with you and your FIL?
JODI...keeping my fingers crossed that you get ham today, lol! :crossed: You are doing great with your exercising! :carrot:
MINDEE...does the hospital not provide that stuff anymore? How long will you be ther anyway? Cracked me up when my friend had her little girl they were trying to kick her out the next day, lol! She didn't feel up to going home so they let her stay another day. We showed up for her baby shower and was told she was at the hospital and had the baby, lol.
Not much going on here today. No special plans for tomorrow either. Just hangin' around the house and taking it easy.
I am getting back on track with my program...eating right, exercising, drinking my water and taking my vitamins. Today is day one and so far so good.
Tammy - I too have an ex bf who still contacts me. We were together for 8 years, off and on, and I broke up with him to save myself. Anyway, he gets on a toot then calls here every once in awhile and professes his love for me, lol. Neal knows he doesn't have to worry. Why would I go out for hamburger when I have steak at home, lol. But, yes, it's flattering. The ex likes to talk about all the good times we had, but I remember too many hurtful times. I just feel sorry for him at this point. You mentioned the soap you watch - mine is The Young and the Restless. Can't help myself. :o
Jodi - I'm ready for warm weather again, too. Good luck with getting the job you want. Lasagna for Easter dinner? That seems odd to me, and I hope your SIL brings a ham.
Sassy - it's more like Christmas here, too, with snow and the cold temps.
Tina - have fun!
Amy - hello to you.
Mindee - isn't Marissa due on the 30th? If so, here's hoping she waits til closer to then. I know you're getting miserable, though, like Gina.
Pink Jane - isn't this weather just crazy? I can count on 1 hand how many times we've had snow in April in my lifetime. I have to say it was very pretty, though.
Sue - have you thought about getting a treadmill? There are so many days that Indiana isn't fit to walk outdoors with the heat, cold, or rain, Just a thought.
Cristina - yes, my addy has been 7779 since we moved into Fern's old place. Then our new house was built so close to the old one, we were allowed to keep the 7779. The 7721 is Mary's, which was my other house. Confusing, I know. :dizzy: The postmaster here got all huffy when we changed back and forth there when Fern was still alive, lol. OIC about you addy, too. I'll take care of that right away. And you're so welcome for the card! I hope you have a blessed Easter.
Vann - thank you for the sweet PM.
Jules - yay for new bras! I have to wear underwires to hoist my girls up. The older I get, the more of a challenge it is!
Hello to anyone else reading this.
Thank you all so much for the well-wishes for my family and me. Gina had to go back to the hospital yesterday with actual contractions, and they gave her something to stop them. The longer little Jackson can stay in there, the better, since his c-section date isn't until May 2nd.
I made it through both funeral home vistitations, and have to say I'm glad that's over.
Best of all - I STAYED 100% OP!!!!!!! Now my next challenge is to not over-indulge at our family Easter dinner tomorrow. But there will be lots of healthy choices to go along with the baked ham, so I'm thinking it will be alright. There will be angel food cake for dessert, so that's not too bad. As I said before, I have a small chocolate treat or Neal and me, but didn't make baskets up, or anything.
Have a Blessed, Happy Easter!

Good Afternoon Ladies:wave:
OMG I am sick of cold and wind...BLAH!!!...the boy had earlier then normal hours yesterday so I had to get all my runnin around town done early so I could get my walking done before I had to pick him up, it was so much fun (NOT) standing out in 40 mph wind puttin gas in the car, the wind chill was 9 degrees:yikes:, bbbrrrr, we did have some flurries early in the am but the wind was blowing so hard they might have been coming in from Nebraska LOL...the sun is shining today but that darn wind is still howling, so it's still colder then a well digger's :censored: , Hubby called from Wisconsin said he's still running in snow and that the little to no accumulation is piling up nicely LOL...the 7 day forecast is calling for snow here on Tues and Wed, isn't that special BLAH!!! oh well this too shall pass, at least it better LOL...nothing special going on here for Easter, my daughter went to her inlaws (eewww insert full body shudder here) so it's just me and the boy, I'm gonna make turkey taco salads for our dinner tomorrow YUM YUM YUM...Well just wanted to check in and wish everyone a Happy Easter, be safe if your traveling and everyone STEP AWAY from the chocolate!!!(1 good thing about being diabetic it's not allowed in the door)LOL
Have a Great Day All and Happy Easter

PinkJane, Sue and Sassy--getting the cold winds and snow flurries here too--I want spring back!!!
Jane--I wear out my bras faster as I get older trying to stay in place--dh's Aunt Nancy sent me a cute email--you remember how you marked a wall as your kids grew?? well the email is a pic of a husband marking his wife's "girls" as the get closer to the floor!!
Cristina--it has been fun visiting the baby sections and stores--I didn't realize but the local outlet mall has a Carters, Oshkosh, Childrens Place and another that I can't think of for baby and toddler clothes--I had seen the Baby Gap part of the Gap outlet--my dh and ds like Gap cargo pants. Hope you have fun with V no matter what you pick to do!
Jodi--I wouldn't hurt to give a call and let them know you are defintely interested and wondering if a decision has been made.
Mindee--my niece has started nesting...she has everything set up and her bag packed!!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!

Hello hello, (static, crackle) come in Jaded ladies, come in. This here is me, Celeste, posting for the first time here. I wanted to just swing by and say that I hope you all have a wonderful Easter. I have been writing about myself in both the blog section and in your nice bio sticky, so I won't write all that all over again. I feel like I have written that I want to lose 35 pounds like in about 20 places. Welp, yeah, that is what leads me here.
I haven't been on a ga-jillion different diets, but I still qualify as jaded, I think. Jaded in the best of possible ways. Talk to you all later!
I just got a call from Hubby, he is 30 mins from home, he got a run from Wisconsin to Des Moines for Monday so he gets to come home for Easter...Surprise Surprise for me LOL I was just excited and needed to share LOL Have a Good One All
04-07-2007, 10:33 PM
Jane-Love the hamburger/steak reference. I told dh about it and he laughed and of course agreed. Happy to see that you got through the past few rough days. Enjoy your angel food cake tomorrow!
Jules--I bought 2 new bras yesterday at Kohls. Must be the week of taking care of "the girls"!
Sassy--I'll second on the Christmas weather for Easter! We got a little dusting of snow and the temps didn't get about 40. Might be too cold for the Easter Bunny tomorrow!
Sue--WTG on the walking. It's too freaking cold here. Baby is adorable!
Mindee--We give out all the personal goodies at the hospital that I work. Must be why my raises are so small, lol!
Jodi--Lasagna  I rather gain water weight on ham myself. Good luck on getting the job.
Cristina--Wish I was just relaxing tomorrow. Having 8 people over for dinner and have made too many desserts. But I've saved a bunch of cool whip containers and all the leftovers are going home with them!
Pink Jane--Glad to hear that dh will be home for Easter. Enjoy
Hugs to Tina, Vann, Marti, Amy, Jen, Karin and anyone else I may have missed. Wishing you all a wonderful Easter tomorrow!!

:bunny2:Happy Easter to all Jaded Ladies.
Yes, talk about cold! It was worse here today than yesterday. Therefore I still didn't get a 2 mile walk. I did however do .6 miles. How pitiful is that? Never got over 30 degrees and was 17 early today. Brrrr.
Pink Jane- Glad to hear your DH is coming home for Easter. Nice surprise.
Hello Celeste and welcome to JL's. We all feel your pain...about losing 35 pounds. I have lost and gained the same 5 pounds for over two years....so I am again trying to turn the tide. I can also relate to the Menopot. (read your blog) I am 58 yrs. young.
Jules- Had to laugh about the girls getting closer to the floor. I can relate to that too. Gravity is gone.....:) (or is it muscle tone that is gone?)
Jane- Yes. I have had a treadmill and gave it to my SIL. I didn't like it taking up room and at the other house I walked alot...and was gone when the weather was cold. It just SAT there...lol. I truly wish I had it back, but don't know where I would put it. I prefer walking outside and NOT on the incline of the treadmill. DH is talking of a stationary bike in the shop...that would be great.
Cristina- I haven't met my walking goal and doubt I will get out there tomorrow either. Unless I go to the Mall for a walk I won't make it. I can take the cold if the wind just would STOP. Baby didn't even want to go out today.
Jodi- I hope you had ham...lol. I love a GOOD lasagna. Emphasis on GOOD. ;) WOuld you believe we are having beans and cornbread for dinner tomorrow. Just the two of us here...and that sounded good. I bought a huge ham last week and will use some for seasoning.
Mindee- Hang in there. Hope you had a nice week-end and didn't over-do it.
Probably will have a lazy day tomorrow. I need to get back into going to church...but haven't since coming home.
DH and I went to Sear's today so he could buy a tool of some sort. I bought 2 shirts...for warm weather if it ever comes. Looked 3 places at bar stools and thought we found the one we wanted, but the bar for your feet was too low for me....and these are the high stools, so I need a foot rest. (For Tammy...we did see one Canadel, but it was one that is way too ornate for our taste. That store is going to send us info on others however.)
Went to Hobby Lobby where I saw so many things for the house....I could spend days in that store. I got a picture for a frame DH made...it hangs over the sofa..looks lovely.
Okay...I need to get to bed. Baby gets me up early to go out...lol.
04-08-2007, 02:34 AM
hello ladies....still pregnant here.
we did end up going up north to see my parents for the day. it turned out to be a fun day....until I got stuck on the water bed because I laid down on it. I had to get helped up by my mom and one of my sisters in order to go eat dinner! LOL Like usual, we came home with more in the van then when we got up there, but it was all in good fun.
Jodi~ So which did you end up eating, ham or lasagna?
Cristina~ We received your “we’ve moved” letter today. I am sure that the hospital does provide all that, and knowing me I will probably end up using the hospital stuff because I forgot to grab the stuff out of my bag. As far as I know, I will only be in there a day or two at the most. Unless of course I need a c-section, then it will be longer. But I am hoping to not have to need a c-section. When I had Logan they were trying to get me to stay another stay, as oppose to trying to get rid of me. (It didn’t help any that there were only one or two other women on the floor at the time.)
Jane~ Yup, she is due on the 30th. But from what they figure, she is ready to join the world as early as two weeks before my due date or as late as two weeks after my due date. So, whenever she wants to come is fine with me!
Pink Jane~ It has been really cold and snowy here as well. It snowed off and on while we were up north, and then when we were getting off the freeway to come home, we hit yet another snow squall. It was just craziness!
Celeste~ Welcome to the group! I hope to get to know you better.
Happy Easter Ladies!!!!
Jules~ We didn’t get to any of the things on the list, except for me packing some of my bag. But here’s to hoping that Marissa decides to give us some more time so we can get some of the things done.
Tammy~ You crack me up! I am sure that I remember seeing the personal goodies in the bathroom when I was in the hospital for monitoring in the middle of January. So, I am sure that they will have the stuff, I just don’t want to have to worry about forgetting something and them not having it.
Sue~ I have had a great weekend so far! I am not allowed to over do anything. If there is something big that needs to be done, Tommy will tell me to go sit down and he will do it. Or I will tell him when he gets home that I was going to do such and such, but I didn’t want to get a lecture from him so I didn’t do it. To which he normally says “good thinking….I will do it when I get a chance.”
04-08-2007, 08:24 AM
I haven't been online very much lately, so I'm trying to catch up. I just wanted to wish everyone a very Happy Easter, and hopefully spring will come to STAY to those of you in the wacky weather areas!
04-08-2007, 09:46 AM
Fedup--if the weather doesn't get warmer sooner, I may have to join you in FL!!!
Mindee--It's so sweet how Tommy takes such good care of you. Grumpy hubby was really good when I was pregnant with DD--he even shaved my legs for me....he's not all bad..
Sue--After getting a new car and paying it off, maybe I need to think about a boob lift!!
Tammy--I love Kohls...dd does too. I got my bra at Lane Bryant--they have a good selection to choose from.
PinkJane--enjoy your dh while he's home!!
Everyone else--Have a happy Easter!!
:easter3: :bunny2: :bunny: :egg: :easter2:
Hoping everyone had a wonderful Easter Sunday. Ours was cold...and quiet.
Just got in a mile walk, so I didn't make my goal, but will try again this week. I don't even want to weigh in tomorrow. I HAVE to get more exercise and hope it warms up soon!
