Hi Guys!!! Hey two days in a row for me--amazing!! Everyone else is still sleeping, but I finally gave up the battle for awhile. Sometimes that helps. I think that I have too much on my mind to rest decently and then this cold still has a grip on me. (Ruth hope you are feeling better) DS had practice til 9:00 last night, so we were eating a semi-sorta meal at 9:15 at night--NOT good diet planning.:?: Today is a fly lady stuff in the morning and a football game in the afternoon. The school I teach at is in the Elite 8 of the State. I have known those boys since their first day of Kdgn. so it is very exciting. AND since my DS isn't playing on this team I can actually enjoy the game.:^: The rest of the weekend will be dedicated to school work--doesn't that sound like fun? ;) I am hoping to have time to sit down and read that Somersize book--anybody here know anything about it?

Take care ladies and have a good Saturday!!

Good morning, Annie, and all to come.

Annie, we should have got together and done Fly-Lady stuff around 3 a.m. I woke up and started thinking about all I need to do before Monday when my cleaning person, Gail, comes back to work. I have about six hours of tidying before she arrives and also need to get my vacuum fixed or borrow another one.

I have an 8:30 Wardens' meeting at the Church today. They used to be at 10 which really screwed up Saturday but I persuaded the group to meet earlier during the nice weather. I wonder if anyone will want to go back to the old hours.

My friend Art - the farmer who comes for very early breakfast sometimes - dropped in last night. He and his buddies have been hunting all week and he has about 50 pounds of venison for us! The 12 guys in the group got 12 deer and Art shot all but two of them. He is a retired RCMP detective which may have something to do with it. The Mounties always get their deer! So it's time to start checking out venison recipes.

Tomorrow after Church we go to my BIL's "vernissage" - his first art show! Peter is very sheepish about this and can't believe he is really doing it! He just started painting in oils four years ago and is actually quite good. DH has been warned not to admire anything too much or we will be getting it for Christmas!

Have a great weekend, Chickies.

Must be a bulby weekend. I've been busy taking advantage of a blessed but brief dry spell to plant several hundred daffies, tulips and other bulbs. Trouble is, I am also weeding and cutting back dead stuff as I go so it's taking longer. I also raked the leaves and piled them on the part of the flower border that I've finished weeding and planting. Those bulbs should be nice and cozy until spring now. I still have a lot of bulbs to go but it gets dark so early and it looks like more rain clouds are moving in. Darn!
You'd think I'd be living the high life with DH away for the week but I'm such a creature of habit I just plod along doing my same old chores. Staying op and drinking all my water is easier with him away. Don't ask me why though.
Enjoy your weekend my feathered friends.

Had the baby shower for a friend today. I have to blame someone, so it might as well be Connie. She fixed all this wonderful, delightful, NOT ON PROGRAM food. The only protein in the house today was little smokies, and they were wrapped in biscuits as pigs-in-blankets. UGH!!:( I really tried to resist, but the day was so long, and I gave in. Now I feel horrible. Was doing so good the past few days.

I know that I have to get over this and stay OP all night, or it will turn into a weekend long battle. So, the refrigerator is locked, the pantry door is locked, and I have a gigantic bottle of water next to the puter. Hopefully that is all it will take to beat back the beast!

Hope everyone else has a better day than I did, and a great Sunday.

P.S. Scooby, your pups will come home soon, I predict!

Goodforme- You can do it hang tight, one day till Monday.... 12 hours till bedtime......

Ruth- Lucky you and the venison. If I have lots I make venison salami and give it as gifts at Christmas. It freezes well. You use part hamburger and part venison.

Have a cold so guess I'll just COUGH all day, maybe it will keep me from eating.......LOL...... nah nothing would...

Well happy Sunday to all, its beautiful in the Ozarks of Missouri today... And I'm so happy to just be alive........

Last Thursday, I knew the neighbor was cutting corn in the south forty next to my property, but I'm so used to the noise I didn't pay attention. In th late afternoon I smelled something "funny", so I opened the door. EEEEooowww! SKUNK! Hubby could smell it when he was in his car a quarter mile from home! We figured that the corn cutter hit a family of skunks as we know there is a "skunk house" out there. We brought in our Goldie, not thinking cause the smell was terrible outside. Well...to make a long story short, Goldie had rolled in the mess. The back hall, his bedding and his lovely self smelled to high Heaven! We've washed the rug and bedding and sprayed him with doggy deodorant. I also put a small container of vinegar in the back hall, because I've heard that takes odors out. Oy vey!
My DD's dog helped their neighbor spread manure this past week too! Wonderful pets, aren't they!:)

Oh, Tippy, you have my total, utter sympathy. We once had a blac lab that simply couldn't resist taunting skunks and porcupines. We got to the point where we just kept huge cans of tomato juice around for the next confrontation. The tomato juice really does help cut the smell of skunk. The treatment for porcupine quills stuck in mouth and throat was worse involving a lot of pain for all involved.
