UK Fat Chicks - Clothing Crisis!

Hi girls, I am fed up! I havent been on a girls night out since my hen do last september (!) and I am going out for my friends birthday next Friday for an Italian meal and then drinks in town and I have just been trying on outfits and nothing fits me!! I was planning on wearing some nice jeans with one of my bustier tops and they are all way too tight!!! I know I have 5 more days to lose weight but they still wouldnt fit, I reckon I need another half a stone off till they do! I am going to have to buy something new and I really didnt wanna buy anymore size 16's :( any suggestions as to what I can get, I am not really sure what is in fashion at the mo?:?:

This sounds awfully unoriginal but if I were you I'd buy a new top from somewhere like Marks and Spencers..then you can wear something that fits well but doesn't break the bank. I was M & S yesterday and saw lots of very nice fashionable tops on the Per Una and Autograph range.

I don't pay much attention to labels as they vary so much, so as was suggested, cut the label out ;) You know you are smaller than whenever you started dieting and that's the main thing!

Tracy - let us know if you had a successful shopping trip- I went into Marks yesterday and they have got a sale on. I got 2 bras, 1 pair matching knickers and a pair of trousers that are for my mum - the pull on type, lightweight ones.

tracy... im just wondering how you are in size 16's if your 11 stone and 5"9. wouldnt that make you fairly slim?
me myself i think dorothy perkins is brill for money and the top fashions.

I was thinking that... I'm like 10 pounds heavier and an inch shorter, and I'm a big 12 at best. I guess it's about frame size and shape and all sorts though.

New Look is also good. Tunic style tops and dresses than can go over jeans/leggings can be worn casually during the day but also look good on a night out - they're around £20 in there. Perfect if you're my shape cos they skim any lumps and bumps :D

I think it is cos all my weight is in my bust and hips!! I am a 36FF bust and a 40 inch hip but fairly slim everywhere else! It is really annoying! I am going to try new look i think, I did buy a top at lunch today from matalan but not sure if its a bit low cut!

Yeah hourglass is better than an apple (I used to kid myself I was an hourglass but there is no avoiding my pregnant looking tum :( )

hi ladys i come bringing good news for myself. drum role.................... i fit in my size 16 jeans!!!!well the button fastens very easy but i have a role over the top so im going to wait another 7 lbs till i wear them out but the now fasten! before i couldnt even get the butons to meet. there was a 4"gap between even when i was lying down so im really chuffed!:carrot: :carrot: :cheer:

Hi Nicolae, WELL DONE!! that is great news! I am ready for the gym tonight determined to do another 2lbs off this week - bring it on!!! (mind you with night out on Fri may all go to pot!)

well have a nice time at the gym.did you find anything to wear? lol well as long as you dont make it a weekly thing you will be ok. once in a while isnt bad. im going out next thurs for a wedding style spread and drinks.

I'm another apple, complete with love handles :(

so how do you no if you an apple or pear?
is it when you waist is bigger than you hips for an apple. and the other way round for pear?
my waist is 46" and my hips are 44.5" so i think im an apple to lol.

I am deffo an hourglass I have wide shoulders, big boobs and wide child-bearing hips - i wish i was athletic type with tiny boobs - oh but the grass is always greener isnt it?:( :D

lol I'm sure there's a lot of athletic types that wish they had boobs too, yeah :p

nicolae- Yeah, pretty much. It's if your waist to hip ratio is under a certain amount or something. I'm definitely under it, whatever it is, cos I have no hips and carry all my weight around my middle :(

I got a chocolate brown crinkly-type fabric top with crochet and sequins down the front and criss cross ties at the bust (sounds hideous but looks really nice!) from Matalan for a tenner so am really pleased, didnt want to spend a lot on something I will hopefully not be wearing long before its too big! Gonna wear it with a pair of Jeans and my brown high heeled boots, looking forward to going out now !
