So, this is my 1000th post. Been signed on as a member for a couple of years and was a reader of this website for a couple of years before that. I could have been down to goal by now! I have lost and regained 25 pounds twice now and I am on my way down for the third time.
I actually had a dream in which there were about 8 3FCers, all walking ahead of me, so that I could see their backs but not their faces. Weird, but it shows how much this website has seeped into my consciousness.
I couldn't decide if I should put this in general topics or support, but I put it here because I wanted it to be a celebration of the support I have received through the years. There are some truths I have discovered:
1) Time only marches forward. Get on the stick cause that is how goals are obtained.
2) Plans and goals work if you work them.
3) When you feel down, supporting someone else will perk you back up.
4) If we would only follow our own advice, we would all be at goal! Since that hasn't happened, listening to and sharing advice are key.
5) Long term weight loss is possible. That, for me, is the greatest thing about this place. Seeing, not just those who are at goal, but those who are on their ways!, seeing those tickers going down because of consistent choices is the best inspiration of all.
6) Daily choices are the key to achieving one's goals....whatever those goals are. Chipping away a little at a time is so much more effective than one great push that results in exhaustion.
7) The only failure is in quitting. Sometimes I slip, I pause, I backslide, I throw temper-tantrums, I binge, I wickedly and purposefully have a slothful day....none of these are failures if I get up, brush myself off, and get going again. Stumbling is not failing.
Anyway, thanks to everyone who makes this community what it is: supportive, caring, and based on common sense. This is a very special place.
I am so impressed - and very encouraged! I've been here a while and have been lagging. I have printed out your post and will be reading it frequently.
Thank you so much!

Amen to that one and all of them for that matter... Congrats!!
