South Beach Diet - Are Morningstar Farms Black Bean Burgers still Phase 1?

Morningstar Farms have just changed the recipe for their Spicy Black Bean Burgers. Previously they were "SBD Friendly" for Phase 1, and they've been a staple of my meals ever since I started.
Now the package says they have "roasted corn," which has me worried. Corn isn't exactly low-GI or low-carb, and I don't want to make an assumption that could cost me some progress. I bought three packages and didn't notice the change until I got them home. Darnit!
Any clue if they're still okay for Phase 1?
(Please move this if it's in the wrong section, it's not a recipe so I didn't want to put it in there.)

Hi Subbes! You're right, Corn is one of those veggies that aren't SBD friendly. So I would think only on phase 2 and have it once a week if that. Check where the roasted corn lies on the list of ingredients. If it's not one of the top ingredients the amount in them shouldnt cause any backslide. Hope this helps a bit.
Glad to see you in the forum!

Thanks for the help!
It's a bit of a pity it's one of my staple foods that I eat 4-5 times a week, then. ;)
I hate manufacturers sometimes, with their recipe-changing on a whim just as I've found something that works. Bah. Bah, I say!

You can make your own (though it takes time... I know!)
I love Morningstar's Tomato Basil Pizza Burgers...but I only use them in P2, I think...don't remember what the odd ingredient is that makes them non P1-friendly...worth checking into...

The Morningstar Tomato Basil Pizza Burgers are a favorite of mine, too! They're a staple around here and I have to make a run to the market tomorrow for more since I'm fresh out. I'm pretty sure the ingredient that makes them Phase 2 is a tiny bit of brown rice.
I really liked the Spicy Black Bean Burgers, too. Darn, why did they have to go and change the recipe on a good thing? We should write the company and complain!

:o Sorry, I was wrong. :o I just read the ingredients on the Morningstar Tomato Basil Pizza Burgers and they contain texturized wheat gluten and barley malt flour, which makes them a Phase 2 food. They also contain 2% or less of potato starch and a small amount of modified corn starch, which I'm not happy about, but I think the amounts are so small as not to make much of a difference to matter.

Jenne,
I thought I was the only one that ever said, "Crap on a cracker!" haha
