Today marks the end of my two weeks on Phase 1 - so as tempting as it is to stick with the strictest phase to lose more weight, I'm starting Phase 2 tomorrow. A little apprehensive about introducing some of the foods back into my diet but I think I'll be OK. I'm going to start off by having some oatmeal in the mornings (Quaker regular - 4 grams of fiber per serving) and see how that goes.
I made the roasted chickpeas this past week and they're pretty good when you're in the mood for something crunchy besides nuts and raw veggies. I followed one person's modifications (drying chickpeas after washing, upping temp to 400 and cooking time to 40 minutes) and that seemed to work. They reminded me of eating those half-popped kernels at the bottom of a bowl of popcorn. :)
I feel pretty happy with myself today - hubby and I spent the entire afternoon outside. First we walked a mile and then played tennis for a couple hours. I haven't played tennis since I was about 12 years old, and my arm is already feeling sore - but it's a good sore!
I hope everyone has a great week! :carrot:

Ruth - thanks for starting us out. :)
LitChick - congrats on making it through p1. You'll do great on p2. Just remember to add things in slowly.
Christian - keep it up!!
Me - I'm back here for a couple of weeks. I've been so lazy and the only way I'm going to get back in the game is to start from the beginning. I have to brainwash myself again. ;)

Good Morning All!
One week down, one to go for me also. I have had a feeling that I wouldn't lose a lot on Phase 1 because I ate similarly before I started. I weighed this morning and I was down 3 pounds from last Monday. Not too bad! I had a little trouble last week, but I think it was from not eating enough. I added some new recipes in and that helped also. I tried the Mexican Chicken Casserole yesterday and it was wonderful! I've been eating in wrapped in lettuce leaves until I get to Phase 2.
One of my favorite veggies to fix is to stir fry some chunks of cabbage and red onion slices in a little olive oil and top it with Newman's Own Light Balsamic Vinaigrette. It is almost the same as what is described in teh Pork and Pepper Salad recipe in the cookbook (just minus the pork and the peppers ). It tastes almost sweet and I often make it when I fix a veggie for my son that I don't like. He can eat lima beans and I'll eat my cabbage/onions.
This is from Barb on last week's thread. I was wondering if the cabbage cooked like this tastes anything like sauerkraut? I'm not a fan of sauerkraut, but have recently gotten to like cole slaw.
Take Care!

Hi Catkar and Austinmom and :welcome: to The Beach! There's lots of friendship, support and good ideas in this Forum.
Karen, good going on the weightloss. I've not tried Barb's cabbage recipe but don't think it would taste like sauerkraut.
LitChick, I changed to cooking time on the chickpea recipe. Yummy, aren't they!

Karen - Saerkraut has something added to it that gives it a more acidic/tart flavor. This is different. I like to use red onions with the cabbage because it gives it a slightly sweet flavor. Sometimes I toss in some spices - maybe Italian seasoning. The dressing is wonderful with it. I just make sure I don't add too much since it is so good. I also like to top it with chunks of pork tenderloin.

Wow guys,
I almost lost it...I went to my mother in laws house for supper and had told her last week that I couldnt have bread sugar or starch...well guess what she served????? Chicken in RICE, MASHED POTATOES, CORN and VEGGIE SOUP!!! SO I scraped the rice off a few bites of chicken breast and ate the green beans and tomatoes out of the soup :dizzy: Needless to say I was starving when I got home, so I am now eating a HUGE salad  I hope everyone else is hanging in there too....We can do it ladies, I know we can :D

Week 2 of Phase 1. So far, so good. I lost another 3 pounds last week. I think using some of the recipes from here has really helped me. I also notice that if I eat all of my snacks and a dessert that I lose faster. Hope this week is as easy as last week was. Does anyone know how many servings the taco bake is supposed to be? I made it Friday, had several servings of it on several different days at different meals and just finished it off finally at dinner. Also, I made the crockpot pork tenderloin this weekend. My hubby and baby both loved that. Next time I think I will cut the recipe in half though, since I still have way to much of it left to eat before it spoils and will have to throw a lot of it away.

ciarasmom - That recipe freezes just fine. I believe I get two dinners out of it. Just put it in a freezer container and you can reheat it later. In fact I have a dinner's worth in the freezer now that will be used for dinner this week on one day when I have stuff planned in the evening and need a quick supper.

For everyone, I think you'll find transitioning to Phase 2 (P2 for short) much easier after reading this thread: What's Your P2 Combo? (http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=83406) It's three pages full of suggestions from Beachies for how to work P2 to your benefit. Lots of great ideas, at LEAST one will work for you! P2 isn't something to be afraid of...it's where you'll lose the majority of your weight and where you'll learn the skills you'll need to eat healthy like this for life. It's awesome! :cheer2:

:welcome3: Cathleen! Hope you'll post a thread in the main board so everyone (not just the P1ers) can welcome you. :D This is a wonderful, supportive place and I'm sure you'll enjoy it here. :cheer2:
I also notice that if I eat all of my snacks and a dessert that I lose faster... Does anyone know how many servings the taco bake is supposed to be?
 Ciarasmommy! Glad you're here too and doing so well! I hope you're feeling healthier, too! :strong: I totally agree with your quote above...when you eat everything you're supposed to eat, you end up feeling full and satisfied, and your blood sugar doesn't drop so you don't end up craving like you used to. It's hard to wrap our minds around all these changes in thinking...the hardest for some is believing you can eat fat as long as it's 'good' fat. It's also hard to believe you could eat more than you thought you should and lose! But you can get used to it. ;)
I believe the Taco Bake is supposed to serve 4. But it could be 6. Anyone know for sure? I'm assuming it's not in the recipe? It's an 'oldie but goodie' from before we insisted on serving sizes... DH and I usually get at least 4 servings out of it. We eat less of it when we wrap it in a tortilla, more when we eat it open face over angel hair coleslaw (actually just thinly shredded cabbage...it has more nutrients than lettuce and is much crunchier, even under the heated food).
Whew, the :dust: fairy obviously visited you last night, Christie! :cheer2: :hat: :high: Good for you for sticking to your guns like that!!! Way to go!
Just a couple tips for the future...
I know that it's hard to do, especially if it's part of your daily life, but it makes P1 much more effective and MUCH easier if you refrain from eating out or at other people's houses during P1.
If you have to go out, try eating before you leave, so you don't feel tempted.
While you're there, so you don't feel strange about being the only one not eating, either have something you're sure will be P1 safe, like a salad with no carrots and dressing you brought yourself, or even just a tea or diet soda or coffee with splenda and milk.
Or, if you're going to a friend's house to eat or family, bring your own food.
Another thing you can do with friends and family is ask before you go what they're serving and think about what you can eat. If you feel comfortable with them, ask for them to set aside something just for you...like with that meal, you could ask your mom if she'd cook a chicken breast plain for you and you could bring some veggies with you. If you don't feel comfortable, you can at least bring your own things that complement the menu, like lentil soup so you're eating soup too, and some kind of chicken with veggies. You know?
One thing that SBD has given me is the confidence to stand up for my right to eat healthy. I always gave in during past plans I followed whenever I felt I'd be putting someone out. I'd eat what they made even though I knew I shouldn't eat it. Now I know how good feeling healthy is, and I have no intention to have to do P1 again and detox because someone might have to put one chicken breast in a pan by itself, or might be offended by my bringing my own food. I'm courteous and try not to put people out too much, but I always stick to my guns. I haven't offended one person yet, to my knowledge. :D
Christie, since you stuck to your guns, I bet your mom listens to you next time! ;) Good work!

I know I made at least 6 servings out of the Taco Bake if not more. I did eat a pretty big serving at dinner to get rid of the rest of it though. I may try to freeze the crock pot pork after tommorrow night.

I am cooking some cauliflower right now and I'm going to try the Potato casserole tonight. Also forgot to mention that I tried a few of the breakfast recipes this weekend. The mock oatmeal was okay. Not to crazy about the mock waffle recipe that I used. May not have cooked them long enough, but they tasted to much like egg. I am thinking of making the eggplant lasagna tommorrow night. I am dense when it comes to picking out most veggies though. Can anyone help me out on how to pick out a good eggplant?
Bunnababy
03-20-2007, 03:19 PM
Ciara: Be sure the eggplant is not too soft feeling and has no brown spots on it. If they arre mushy or have brown spots they don't cook up as nicely as they could. Enjoy the eggplant lasagne.
It is my turn to cook dinner so have to check out the recipes and see what I want to do. :stir:
I was going to start PI last week but something happened that threw me way out but today is the day. I know how great this plan is and i want it to be my lifestyle to eat healthy and quit abusing myself with food.

On eggplant, a green stem is a sign of a fresher eggplant. Brown spots mean it's not so fresh and may have been bruised.

Ciara, do you think you overate because of your feelings emotionally or were you craving? How far along are you in P1? I try to be really easy on myself the first couple days of P1. If I eat a little more than I should, but stay OP, I just try to concentrate on the next day. The big thing is getting the sugar out of your system. Trying to be picture perfect on how much you eat can be a problem. Just try to remember that when you're hungry, reach for more veggies...if you truly are hungry, you'll want 'em. If not, it's probably not hunger...just try to find something else to do. ;) Sugar Free gum and my water bottle are my best friends during P1, because they keep my mouth busy...and then I just have to keep my hands occupied and I'm good! ;) Don't stress, hon. Just try to learn something about what made you overeat today and apply it to tomorrow...which will be much better! :cheer2: :dust:
I love the Chicken and Eggplant casserole in the SBD Cookbook. You cover the slices of eggplant with garlic and cheese and bake them before layering them in a casserole. It's totally delicious! :T I think it's even P1 safe...not sure, though. It's not in our recipe forums...I'll do my best to get it in there soon...but today's a crazy day, so it'll be tomorrow at the earliest. Sorry, Beachies! :sorry:

Hi beach chicks..nice to finially meet, and join all of you. I've was on these boards along time ago,but not with sbd. However you all have helped me out so much I feel like thanking you... To begin a new eating plan, which i think is one of the hardest parts of the whole thing to do,to finially commit, whew! that took a couple of weeks in it'self, and also your helpful food ideas...who knew that I could live for 4days without starch, sugar etc. My daughter in law did the beach, and went down 5 dress sizes, and my son is now doing it as well. Although they live thousands of miles away from me,it's goof to be sharing this tog. When I got results back regarding chol/trig/ from my last check-up,I was surprised the bad one was too high, the good one was good tho..anyhoo,that was enought to kick me out of my malaise..I have way too much to see,and do in life to not be my healthiest....and I'd like to be able to cross my legs again comfortably, and get some of my 'sassy' back. I'll be checking in on a reg.basis, and when I get a few extra min. get all the fun measuring stuff up. ;)

I'm officially in P2 but of course, am still eating mostly P1 recipes, and I wanted to share a modification I made to the Salsa Chicken that's posted in the recipe forum. It calls for salsa to be spread over the chicken breasts. I combined the salsa with a small can of green chilies and about a 1/3 of a can (approx 5 ounces) of black beans. This gave it a bit of extra flavor and density, which helped fill me up with just one serving.
Oh, and I hesitantly tried the black bean brownie recipe tonight - very good! And like the posters in the original thread have said, not beany at all. DH (a very picky eater when it comes to healthy food) liked them, too - I didn't even tell him it was made with beans.
Welcome to the new SBDers!

Hello ladies.
I am back on the beach after an extended food orgy that resulted in gaining back 10lbs of the 40lbs that I lost last year. Wow, I just realized that means that I kept 30lbs of it off. Good for me!
I've been hesitant to do SBD again because I have so little energy for exercise, especially when I try to do my long runs. I putter out at around 35-40 minutes. But I decided that I'm never going to get faster if I don't drop a few more lbs. Today was day one (kind of) of P1 for me. Kind of because I impulsively decided to start today after I drank a Gatorade to fend off a hangover from the 2 glasses of wine I drank last night. (I'm a real light weight when it comes to alcohol these days.)
Hey will power fairy, sprinkle some of that dust on me!
:welcome3: Holly! Here's that willpower dust you asked for. :dust:
I think that's great that you can run for 35-40 minutes, I wish I could last that long!

I think I need a whole case of will power dust. Everytime I near the end of my 2 weeks on Phase 1, I do something to screw it all up. What is wrong with me? Hopefully I will figure out what I need to do to make sure it doesn't happen again soon.

Hello - This is my first attempt to join in here. I have done a weight tracker but have not figured out how to move it here. I have just finished week 2 of Phase 1 SB and have lost 8 pounds. I feel very motivated to stay with the program. I have a long way to go but have a short term goal to get below 200. I am walking 30 minutes 3-4 days a week and alternate with trips to Curves. Gosh, wonder where poofed posts go,hmmmmm. Thank you all for the welcome, I feel like I'm doing well, and still have my stong resolve intact..I do know not to be cocky about it however..it's the long haul that will determine the results that I seek, But for now, this day,I'm good. I think taking it one day helps me to stay the course..if I were to look at the mountain ahead of me I'd probably just go to Carls' jr.and have a $6. burger..but I refuse to lose over a hunk of meat, and 15minutes of heaven. I absolutely refuse! I,We deserve better! Right...!;) Yesterday was a hurdle, and I made it. If the lost post turns up anywhere else I did repeat this story once..however I think it's important to have it out and in my eyes, and yours. My neighbor, who is a chinese cook, came over with a platter of deep fried spring rolls...yep,a whole platter, still warm:o I turned to dh and said you better eat all of these now,bc they arn't good once they cool;) ..eatum all,and eatum now! Whew!!! Then backing up to yesterday we had lunch out, DH ordered chicken fried steak, mash pot/gravey,garlic bread...Another hurdle which I skipped over while forking my 1/2 size cobb salad, dressing on the side. Hope you all don't mind if I puff myself up abit. It wasn't easy, but I think my stubborn dug in,and I held firm..I feel empowdered, and it feels great. Well, I'm on DAY 4 of PHASE I.....back on the beach after being off it for too long (enough to gain ALL my weight back. It wasn't accidental either..I knew I was gaining...knew that gobbling every fried food in sight wasn't going to keep it off...somehow, with family problems and new job, I just didn't care. Yeah, NOW I DO!).
Anyway, in 2004 I lost 40 lbs on SB. I certainly had a long way left to go, but I looked good and was in a size 10 petite jean (stretchy tho!). I wish I could explain why I gave in to temptation and then just blew off any common sense, but I truly can't and I'm so disappointed in myself.
But SB is the only way I can lose weight "easily"...meaning that while it isn't EASY, I lost the weight steadily and without hunger (after the first week anyway).
My CURRENT CONCERN is that I started this on Wednesday, walked 30 minutes each day (not today, I'm having that carb-withdrawal icky day I remember from before), am drinking my water and no cheating at all...and I get on the scale today: NOTHING. I mean ABSOLUTELY NO CHANGE. I lost ELEVEN POUNDS in Phase I in 2004. I realize we're only talking a few days, but NOTHING????
I will continue, because I truly feel that SB is the best and healthiest way for me to get to my goal...and LIVE A LONG AND HEALTHY life. I'm scared, cuz at 47, I've abused this old body long enough!
So, here I am. Convinced that if I don't do this, I'm not just giving up on diets, but on LIFE. I just cannot do that!!!! God gave me this wonderful life to live and I feel I've slapped Him in the face by abusing my body with food.
Thanks for "listening" WHEW!

:welcome2: beachcat! Try not to get discouraged, the weight will come off eventually. As we get older our metabolism slows down, resulting in a slower rate of losing weight. You are only on your 4th day; most people don't see a loss until their second week, so be patient and keep on doing all the right things. You will eventually notice a big difference in how you look and feel. :)

Hi ladies, hope you don't mind if I start to jump in with you all. I just started phase 1 yesterday. This is my first time dieting for "real" with the exception of a GD diet when I was pregnant with my last son. So far so good, but only on day 2. :) I also weigh daily, i'm obsessive like that and know that I will continue to do so. Like the PP said, it will keep me honest. The fact that the scale dropped down 1.5lbs since yesterday is encouraging to, although i'm sure its just water weight. I'm very excited at the prospect of looking good again some day down the road. I had orginally set my goal at 135 and moved it up 5lbs feeling it would be more attainable. I think I need to set some mini goals.
Anyway, i'm catching this thread on the last day of the week so i'll be sure to contribute much better starting tomorrow.

HI I'm Ally and on day 2 on Phase 1. I was on SB for 6 months and lost 40lbs but during our move here to Maine in Oct I gained 20lbs back. So I'm done with that had even even tried WW but it didn't work. I'd gain then lose up and down. Only thing that seems to work for me is SB so I'm back. I do have question.
ARe we allowed Fat free sugar free pudding on Phase 1? Someone told me we could I don't remember being able to have it in phase 1.

This is day 3 for me, 2 days completed. I was falling asleep sitting up before lunch time. As soon as I ate I was fun, guess I needed some fuel. I did get dizzy/lightheaded once today too. It was time for a snack and that brought me back to feeling ok. I guess I quickly found out that I need to make sure to eat on schedule.

I'm on day 2 of Phase 1. I did the SB 3 years ago and lost 30 pounds. Somehow they slowly kept coming back and now I'm determined to lose those unwanted sneaky 20 pounds.
Both yesterday and today were not too bad and I'm looking forward to my london broil with oven roasted veggies tonight.
I've never understood the "how often to weigh yourself" rule. I tend to weigh myself first thing in the morning everyday. That way I can adjust my meal planning for an up or down morning. That's the theory anyway:) Being on the beach tends to make it so much easier. Especially with the more restrictive Phase 1.

I weigh myself every day too, right after I pee in the morning (anything to get the weight down ;-)) I'm on day 4 of Phase 1 and my scale keeps giving me good news. And for everyone that says it's "just" water weight, the way I see it is that we're retaining too much water, therefore getting rid of it is a good thing and we deserve to congratulate ourselves for getting rid of that excess water. Plus, those fat cells have water in them too, meaning that when you break down fat there's water to lose too. Does that make sense or just too many run-on sentences?
oopsmyhalofelloff, you need to eat more! But, I guess you figured that out ok. I did Atkins once for 4 days and realized that surviving on just protein and fat makes me feel horrible. Maybe you need some more good carbs (ie veggies.) Or maybe just a regular eating schedule like you said. Anyway, congrats on losing a couple pounds!

I forgot to add that I am especially proud of myself today because I got my butt out of bed around 6:30 and went for a run on the beach (I live in Rio, about a half mile from the beach.) Of course I had my normal Phase 1 lack of sustained energy to get me through the whole workout running, but I ran more than I walked. Plus, I got to smell that sea air first thing in the morning. I felt so great afterwards I even cleaned the bathrooms!

3gwriter, its good to know someone else does the first thing in the morning, after the pee, weigh in. I've really enjoyed the last 2 mornings because I can see the progress.
I was afraid that yesterday (my day 2) I would be food obsessed at work. That tends to be the place where I would eat more of the foods I shouldn't. But I was fortified with my snacks and the day flew by. I also started to walk around our office building - 4 times around is a mile.
Onward and upward!

Good morning - I am just finishing week two of P1 and have a couple of things I need to know. Boiled ham - Are we talking about a noncooked ham that is boiled or is this something I am not locating in the grocery? Is tomato sauce allowed ? Mine has 5 gr carbs in 1/4 c. serving. Dairy free cream cheese is this ff or rf or something all together different? Thanks for helping in this confusion. Have lost 8 pounds and would like to expand my menu.

Hi gals! Glad everyone is having such a great spell of weather. It's suppose to be pleasant here to upper 60's from what I've heard, yet its only 51 so far. I too love having the windows open and walking when the weather breaks. Unfortunately its been pouring rain for the last couple days so thats put a damper on my plans.
Today is day 4 and all is well. Weighed this morning (of course) and down another lb. I wonder though if this first phase is going to set me up for dissapointment come the second phase. I'm getting use to seeing the numbers moving daily and i'm sure that isn't going to continue during phase 2. I am down into the 80's now though and that makes me feel fabulous!

oopsmyhalofelloff,
I thought that I might get discouraged when I went to phase 1 when I did this before, but I really didn't. I lost about 1-3 pounds a week steady and I felt my clothes getting looser. Just remember that this way of life is for life...and that you will just continue to lose. I think that is what happened to me in 2005 I lost 40 pounds and then just went crazy with food. I am back now and doing phase 1. My weight loss reflects weight watchers. I on week two of phase 1.
We can both do this!

Hi y'all...not sure where all my posts have gone..two are missing from last week, floating in cyberspace somewhere/?
It was a good week last wk.and I still feel strong this 2nd day into the 2nd wk. Not really craving too much either which kinna surprises me. Thanks a million;) for the taco seasoning rec. it was a yum, ate it cold too on top of my salad..do you think it would work on fish..anything work on fish???I'm ok with salmon, but the other white fish ...what do you do with them so they don't have slimy look/taste:?: of course not being able to smother it with mayo makes it harder, mayo is my biggest fattest challenge..low/lite/non just doesn't cut it,so i live without it..DH is still eating like a champ..porkchops fried potatoes etc. i did put a stop to his making french frys for dinner, and then eating them across from me...told him we'd have to eat in different rooms for that to happen. I can only do my deep breathing over so many of his food choices...I do figure it'll be better for him anyway even tho he doesn't have to/need to lose weight.(natch:?: ) Someone pls. let me know when is the chat? Thanks abunch..take care. CHOICES~

Thank you for the warm welcome! We also had glorious weather today - 80 in March is crazy, but I'll take it anytime. My walk was successful at lunch. I'm really glad we have those dark windows at work so I can't see if anyone is laughing at me trudging forth. Maybe by next week I'll be gliding forth as my poor muscles and feet adjust to actually moving!
I remember my hesitancy of beginning Phase 2 the last time I was on SB. But I found that while I didn't lose as much weight each week, I was still losing both pounds and inches. I didn't rush into Phase 2, but tried to gradually add things back in. That worked great for about a year and then....the dreaded pepsi passed my lips  I'm hoping that since I can pinpoint my downfall from last time, I'll avoid the temptation to sip again.
Here's to you, ciarasmommy2005 :dust: We can all use lots of dust!

I'm doing pretty good today. I have found myself pretty hungry and tempted to cheat again, but have not. Yea!!! I think my diet sodas sometimes give me cravings or certain things that I am cooking and how they smell cooking. The last time I think it is when I cooked the "Potato casserole" the way it smelled made me want to eat it all and made me crave food like crazy. I do plan on making it again but will have to concentrate my sense of smell elsewhere. lol So far, so good. Let's keep it going.

Day 7 of week one. Total lost (haven't updated my slider yet) is 3.5 lbs. And I think I need EXTRA praise (did I mention I'm a praise ho?) because I have been sick for the past two days and it has been really hard to stay on course! I'm either not hungry or just want something like cookies to make me feel better: AND I STAYED ON PROGRAM anyway, even with this rotten cold. Usually, if I've got a cold, I'll eat cereal or cookies and drink orange juice. Of course, I usually feel better than I do this time too! Cooking is out, cuz I feel too bad, so I've really had to get "creative" with my grabbing something quick (cold edamame beans! LOL).
so, is there ANYTHING sweet I can have this week besides the ricotta cream stuff (Which, I like, but don't fancy right now).
Thanks!

Beachcat~Have you checked out the Phase 1 dessert recipes forum? There is some pretty good stuff in there. Not sure how much of it is not made with ricotta but it is defiantly worth checking out.

Beachcat ~ I hope you are feeling much better by now, and good for you for staying OP! I know when I'm sick all I want are comfort foods!
There are plenty of satisfying recipes in the Phase 1 Desserts section, one of my favorite standbys is the Peanut Butter Cup.

Whew! Its hot again. I just took my walk in blazing hot sunshine and feel absolutely wilted! I've got my water pumping back in and lunch is on the way. I got an asian salad and am picking out all those delicious mandarin oranges:( Oh well not too long until I can include them again.
:dancer: Way to go Feelinsxy! We all need all the encouragement we can get. It is so nice to have a little community of people who are all doing the same thing. Do we have graduation ceremonies for moving on to Phase 2?
Happy Wednesday everyone!

I have to admit I have been lurking here a few days, just reading all of the encouragment everyone has for one another, recipes, FAQ, what not.
I am on day 3 (whoooo hooooooo!!!), and I will agree with feelinsxy as well, it's not as bad as I thought. AND you guys do make it seems easy, which helps also, becuase I know I am not the only one stuggling!
I had a few temptations today to throw it out the window (1--dinner back home with the family and they ordered chinease...but I stuck to the "healthy choice" menu option for shrimp, chicken, and veggies. The nice this is that they dont put any sauce in there...its just sauteed! and 2---Its my week to bring a snack in for a class I am in, and I made this snack mix stuff coated with melted butter and brown sugar. The "old" me would have snuck handfuls of this while making...but I resisted!!!!!!!!! I didnt have one bite! Not one snitch!)
But I want to thank you all for the support, and I am going to be active in this forum, becuase I think that will help me even more. Bring on day 4...bring it on![/B][/B][/B]

I think I am going to jump of the SB wagon for a week or so and try to get my head in order. I need to figure out my strenghts and weaknesses. Try to get a grip on everything that is going on in my life right now and really try to find a job because not having one is putting a lot of stress and strain on the family. Hopefully I can figure it out soon and be back here with ya'll. I will continue to read along and surf around the board though. Good luck to all of you in your Phase 1 journey and beyond.

ciarasmommy2005 I hope you get everything straightened out and we see you back soon.
I read all the threads and since I found this board and lurked for a while. I find reading that other people are going through the same things helps me keep motivated.
Today is day 6 for me and i'm feeling good as far as the diet goes. I have a pounding headache but thats from some medication that was just increased. I need to kick it in gear as far as exercise goes, I haven't really done much but walk one night. Tonight i'll be walking again, i wait until its dark out so people can't see me. :dizzy:

hi all..good to see you back RUTH ;o) and good luck with your time off CIARA..I am doing good, no cravings that I can't handle...even when we go out I'm able to choose well..patpatpat..yesterday I had my usual salad, took the roll put it in my napkin and stuffed it in my purse for dh dinner..easier than having it stare me in the face...i asked husband to not order french fries..anything but ff...he ordered fish, and chips..french fries...!:dizzy: I did not have one..not one bite, one fry..nada.:carrot: I am so pleased, and proud of myself..as he ate his fries,he said that this would be good for my will power..I don't think that was nice of him at all,and it troubles me. Who needs this on top of all the rest..very disappointing, and kind of hurtful. :( Thank you for being here, and letting me put that out of my heart, and stomach where it's been living for the last 24hrs. Not healthy to carry all that inside. I did prevail however..and for that I am thankful.
:?: :?: :?: Now..my biggest hurdle of the week is trying to figure out how to change the weight tracker thingie...geezO that little gizmo sure makes me feel stupid..my start, and current weight are not correct which i want to make right, and then on this comming monday THE BIG BIG WEIGH IN DAY FOR ME..i'll have to change it again..with my fabulous weight loss number..pls. if anyone gets this far down into this note, would you do a baby-step for me on how. :dizzy: feeling stupid, and no fast food is not a good combo...wonder if that's in part how i got to where i am weight-wise? Take care...and march on! choices~
