Default Insane muscle cramps

Hello...

I have been working at the whole weight loss thing for awhile now and recently started exercising more...the problem is I am now getting these insane muscle cramps in my abs...specifically in the area below the ribs...that sort of triangle area. Now if it were after I have done a load of crunches or something I could see that but its not...its out of the blue while I'm just doing everyday stuff or when I reach forward to stretch...like bend at the waist.

I really don't think its that I'm pushing myself too hard...I don't have soreness otherwise and no cramping anywhere else.

Does anyone know how to stop these or what I am doing wrong to cause them? Any ideas are appreciated!

If you could be more specific... Is this happening right after a workout? A day or so after a workout?

If it persists I'd see your doctor...

Thats part of the craziness...sometimes it happens while I am working out but other times its out of the blue like when I bend over to get something out of a lower cupboard or go to tie my shoe. I was already thinking of seeing the Dr. since in searching online I found some sites that say muscle cramping can be related to hypothyroidism and there have been some other things going on that make me think something may be up in that area anyway.
