OK everyone! Let's have a chatty week! On your mark - get set - GO!

03-12-2007, 07:25 PM
Ok, I'll start, I had a great weekend, spent time with my Grandbaby and taught him how to sign "more" when he wants more. He is just the coolest. I worked my tushy off cleaning my sons apartment and then cleaning my house. So today I was dragging at work, but I had a good day, hope all of you had the same :)

03-12-2007, 09:33 PM
hello everyone hope you all had a good weekend, glad to hear you enjoyed yours lpgoad!
i've decided to take up jogging along with the dieting..ok only for 9 days to begin with :D i havent seen my boyfriend in a month (longest time ever lol) and i also havent told him im trying to lose weight so i want to kick start my weightloss by jogging for about an hour each day and hope he notices on his own :)

03-12-2007, 10:12 PM
I had a pretty good weekend also ... my son popped up for an unexpected but pleasant visit. We ended up going to the Casino on Saturday - I won $1,000! Went to the show last nite - saw "The Queen" - it was very good movie. Today I went to Curves but didn't walk at the Sportsplex so will have to for sure tomorrow.

Glad to hear you had such a fun weekend with your grandbaby! Mine are spread out all over the US so don't get to see too much of them but sure do enjoy the time I do get to see them! What a nice mom you are, cleaning your son's apartment!

Jogging sounds like a good idea - that should help kickstart your weightloss.

Hope everyone else had a great day today!

03-13-2007, 08:11 AM
supergir111 I read that speed walking is better for you than jogging because jogging can do real damage to your knees, not sure if it's true but you may want to check with your doctor before you start jogging.
CJ congrats on the big win, that's wonderful!! My hubby and I are trying to get to Foxwoods sometime this year, I have never been, but I hear it is fun! Hope everyone has a great day! :)

03-13-2007, 11:01 AM
I did good on my eating one day last week (almost all day). Yes, one day. That's big for me, though. Since that day, I've been right back to my usual eating. I've been reading a lot about losing weight and eating right, trying to motivate myself, but it doesn't translate into actions. I don't know why I crave sugar and chocolate so much!! (I'm not having PMS - I am in menopause.) Any ideas?

03-13-2007, 12:41 PM
Well gals, after my near break down last week, I made it. I hit my spring break goal. I've finally lost 10 lbs from my starting weight. YEAH!!! Now, on to my next goal. I've got 6 weeks until my birthday. So, it's 6lbs in 6 weeks. If I can maintain 1lb a week of weight loss I'll hit my long term weight loss goal in one year like I'd planned. So, WISH ME LUCK!

03-13-2007, 01:10 PM
Good luck 4me I know you can do it
Fitchick2be when you get a craving try first drinking 8ounces of water then brush your teeth, usually toothpaste will get rid of any craving. Hope that helps, last night I wanted to binge so bad that I went in and took a nice LONG HOT shower, by the time I was done the cravings were gone.

03-13-2007, 04:01 PM
i like the toothpaste idea but i never get myself to do it when im hungry...thats my next mission lol
i managed to go jogging today even though when i got back from lectures i really couldn't be bothered to, it was a really nice little jog around the woods as it was just getting dark. i think i can keep it up for 8 more days :D
then i just had a dinner of 1 large mashed potato with onions and 1/2 a can of minstrone soup. now to make it through the night hehe

03-13-2007, 04:46 PM
Hey glad to hear everyone had a great weekend!!! I had a very productive weekend at my friends house, we worked out all weekend and she cooked me a very healthy meal. This is so much different from our weekends last year which consisted of terrible habits. A couple of weeks ago I was upset that I was back at 144 but I am happy to say that this sunday I got back down to 140!! I am now working hard on getting to my next mini goal of 135!

03-13-2007, 08:42 PM
I can't wait to get to 140!! :):):)

03-14-2007, 12:06 AM
Thanks for the tip, lpgoad! You are all doing great.

I've been really inspired by some success stories I read on the Good Housekeeping magazine site.,,284561,00.html I really feel like I can do this! They all did, and some of them had a lot more weight to lose than I do. Their determination amazed me, and I realized I can be that determined, too. So tomorrow it is, ladies. I can do this!

03-14-2007, 01:38 AM
I just clicked and clicked and ended up here. It sounds like it could be fun. It's getting into the season of more skin showing. I have to drop these pounds. So you guys are the people who are going to do it with me I guess.

Today I began shooting arrows for a hobby. Yes archery. I bought a bow and I have a place to practice. I go with a friend. It doesn't burn calories but it gets me away from the computer (which for work I am at all the time) and out with people (which I really need). So its all good.

I thank you for your time and hope to get to know you better in the weeks ahead. Have a good day!

03-14-2007, 10:20 AM
Hi, Sheryl!

03-14-2007, 05:30 PM
Hi! I'm new here--so glad to be here! I feel great right now. Just had a great workout (without my son climbing all over me:dizzy: ) and now just taking some time to stay motivated and get to know some new people who are in the same situation as I am. My daughter is laying on the ground staring at me while she sucks her thumb--cutest thing ever--and that's enough to motivate me to be healthy so I can be a good example to her. Obesity runs in my family big time. My grandma was obese, my dad is obese, and I've certainly inherited the tendency for it. BUT I will not let that deter me from being healthy. The argument could definitely be made that it's a learned trait, not a genetic one. Either way I am going to do my best. Glad to be here!

03-15-2007, 12:30 AM
Hi, chrischick! :)

03-15-2007, 12:59 AM
Hi everyone,
Gosh look at this, I go away for a while and look at all the Newbies that have joined our wonderful group. I love it. Welcome :welcome3: to chrischick, fitchick2be, Sheryl, Liz/lpgoad, Amanda, supergirl, 4me4ben4will/Lil Momma, /Sara/Slapacka, HJC, Becky/aprincess and anyone else I may have missed. Looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you's. :cheer:

Well sorry I have been away for a while. Things are crazy around here. So much has happened. Many of you know that 2nd oldest daughter, Tracy, our Air Force daughter and her husband, stationed in Illinois are expecting :preg: a baby in a couple of days, due this Friday March 16th. They are having a boy, Tyler James. We are just waiting for the call and we will be traveling there to be with her and I want to stay another week with her to help her out with anything she needs help with. She says she wants her Mommy there with her. She has her things she wants me to make, after she has the baby, like chicken noodle soup and chili among other things. So I will be happy to do that. This is her 1st one, and my 1st Grandchild so am getting excited and can't wait to hold him and hope it is soon. So just been busy, had a shower for her a few weeks ago and than the next weekend we went up there to bring some things to her and visit. It went well and we got some things done for the babies room and other things that needed to be done. So I am looking forward to bonding with the little guy.

OK ready for another piece of news? Well on Superbowl Sunday, where the Indianapolis Colts became the Superbowl Championship-:yay: oldest daughter, Kelly, who lives in Indy and is a teacher announched that her and her hubby are expecting :preg: as well and is due this Oct 16th. Sooooooooo boy oh boy, needless to say I was sure in shock to think that I am going from no Grandkids to 2 this year and by the holidays we will sure have a busy and active house. So I can still hardly believe the changes going on in my life. Another reason I haven't been around is that I have just finished working in Indy doing the assessments for the schools. Our team did 28 schools and we were pretty much on the road from Mon thru Fri, staying in hotels and just on the go all the time. So now I am done working, except for H & R Block, which I am still doing till April 16th so after that nothing is planned as far as work goes for a while and I hope it is a great while. I want to get so much done around here, have to paint the upstairs, get a crib, find a high chair, baby gate for the stairs and anything else I might need to help keep the babies safe. Any suggestions as to where I should start to look for them? Maybe one of those 2nd hand baby stores or a garage sale? Gosh so much to do to be a Grandma isn't there? :spin: So I will post again on the next post to everyone personally. This way it won't be so long. :carrot:

Love you guys and missed you all. Love you, Sassy Sharon

03-15-2007, 02:25 AM
Ok, now to post to everyone. :jig:

CJ-Hi girlfriend, miss you lots. How are you doing? Besides wining lots and lots of $ at the casino's? You are so lucky! Well I want to tell you that Tracy absolutely loved the blue blanket you made for her. You did such a great job on it I thought. Wish I had your talent. She has been working on her Thank You cards when I talked to her the other day. Glad you had a good time with your son last weekend.:goodvibes:

chrischick-I really just love your attitude about being healthy and fit. You will do so well with in that frame of mind. It will also really help your kids set a great example in life too.

sheryl-Wow so you are taking up archery? I would love to do that, I tried it once and I sure can't hit the broad side of a barn. Good luck to you, sounds like so much fun. Plus another benefit is that it gets you out of the kitchen and away from the food too. :ink:

fitchick2be-Thanks for the link to Good Housekeeping, checked it out and it was great. This way I don't have to spend the $ to buy the magazine. The stories were very inspirational. You are right YOU CAN DO THIS, WE ALL CAN DO THIS!

Amanda-Congratulations on your wonderful and healthy weekend with your friend. Doesn't it really make you feel great when you do the things you know you should right and make you feel like you have accomplished something to help you on your way? It sure paid off big time for you didn't it? :D

supergirl-Good for you getting your exercise in. Of course you can do this for 8 more days. Think of how you will feel when you get on that scale and it starts to go down to where you want it to be. :cp:

Liz/lpgoad-I had heard of this method, and had have great results when I brush my teeth as that signals to me the end of my eating for the day. It usually works for me. I don't want to have to brush my teeth again. Thanks for letting everyone know about this trick. ;)

Lil Momma-Hip Hip Hooray on your 10 pound weight loss, you are doing so well. Keep up the great work. I just know you will make your Birthday goal too. Just keep on doing what you are doing. :carrot:

Becky/aprincess-Good job on your exercise program. How are you doing on your quitting smoking? I commend you for starting a healthy lifestyle now. You will feel so much better and have so much more energy too.

Sara/slapacka-Good going on your 4 lb loss, you are doing great. You have very good goals and I know that one of the things you mentioned was coming on The Thin Wannabee's website. I know we will be able to help each other out with support, motivation and encouragement. Keep on posting! :bravo:

HJC-Wow another one that quit smoking and is starting to make wonderful changes in your life. I am happy that your husband is such a great support, my husband also really supports me as well. You and Becky are both in this together, I realy admire both of you for doing something great for your life. :cp:

Where is the rest of the gang? Sylvia, KimV, Sherry, and anyone else, come back and post with us. WE MISS YOU!

Love to all, Sassy Sharon :grouphug:

03-15-2007, 06:23 PM
hi sassy :) what wonderful news 2 grandchildren on the way :congrat: :balloons:
i had a very active day today. i went on a trip with my class to a wild life park which involved alot of walking. i brought a packed lunch with me (a healthy salad) and despite the food in the cafe smelling veeeery yum all i bought was a banana! great triumph for me coz it proves i actually do have some will power lol
then when i got back to halls i managed to go for a run through the woods :running: i took your advice fitgirl well kinda. Because i am quite unfit i believe, instead of stopping when i got out of breath i just powerwalked my breathe back...someone told me this was interval training...not quite your advice but thanx still lol
im in 2 minds about weighing myself when i get home becasue for me dissapointment can be a killer (a diet killer that is) so i dunno how long i can do scale free but for now thats the only way for me. i ate quite alot today in comparison to my daily consumption...according to my food diary but i suppose i did workout more so im trying not to feel guilty.
oh yea and i just discovered..mushrooms..the magic food :witch: lol they are very low cal arnt they...i love them more now :D

03-15-2007, 09:17 PM
Wozzee! You gals are keeping me going here! LOL …. love to see all this chit-chat going on in the group – keep it up please! :) I’ve been doing my Curves every day AND walking at the Sportsplex .. I have been doing 3 miles a day now and today I actually walked 4 miles! Time flies when you are walking and talking with people you don’t realize how many laps you’ve done (8 laps = 1 mile) I have a clicker and I click at each lap but don’t look every time so it surprises me when I do look at it and see how many laps I’ve already done! I just got out of my hot tub .. felt sooooo good and I needed it after all my walking this week!

Well, at least you did good for one day – that’s a start! All I can suggest is when you crave sweet to drink a big glass of water … I keep the Quaker Oats caramel rice cakes on hand and I find that gives me something sweet and crunchy and they are actually good too. Thanks for posting the Good Housekeeping magazine site with the success stories. I always like to read success stories – it does seem to motivate. Just keep thinking what your saying under your name says “I can do it”!!

WTG on hitting your spring break goal! I do wish you luck on your 6lbs loss for your birthday … I know you can do it!.

It’s the hot tub for me when I really get bad cravings (unless of course I cave first) .. LOL ……… and I drink tons of water while I am in it (30 minutes)

Supergirl …
Hey nice going on the jogging … that was a good thing since you weren’t in the mood .. you could of fluffed it off and not do it but you did it !!! WTG

Wow you sure had a great weekend … nice to have someone to workout with and especially nice to have that someone cook healthy meals for you .. lucky you! WTG on getting to your mini goal of 140! You’ll be at 135 in no time.

Welcome to the group! I hope you will post often too so we can all get to know you! Good luck with your new hobby. Sounds like fun and not only will it keep you away from the computer, and get you out to meet people, but it will help keep you from eating when you shouldn’t.

Welcome also to our group! So glad to have you posting with us. Yes, those little ones are enough to motivate you into getting healthy and staying that way. They are going to need you big time! Please post with us often so we can all get to know each other and get skinny together!

Oh gosh … I didn’t think Tracey was expecting until April … I hope she has an easy delivery and everything goes well – I’m sure it will! How nice that you will be staying with her after the baby is born. I know how excited you are … every grandchild is exciting but that first one is extra special. And WOWWEE – Kelly is expecting too! How cool is that? I guess I better keep my knitting needles out! I’m finishing up a blanket for my 2nd great grandchild that is due in May … then I’ll start on Kelly’s! :) I got Tracey’s thank you in the mail today … I’m glad she like her blanket. I loved making it for her.

Supergirl …
Great day for you! Walking and then running in the woods and a wonderful lunch! Good for you … you made very healthy choices. Keep up the good work.

Well, everyone … it’s time for dinner so got to go. Have a great nite …

Love, CJ

Good morning everyone! Congrats Sassy I was blessed with my first Grandchild in Dec 2005 and there is a second one due the end of June and his name is Tyler Robert isn't that a coinkydink, lol Glad to hear everyone is doing so well, I weighed myself this morning and I am down another pound so I am happy! They are predicting a big snow storm today which blows because Wednesday was gorgeous and in the 70s I took my dog on 4 LONG walks it was great. Hope everyone has a fantastic day!!

03-18-2007, 12:14 AM
Happy Saint Patricks Day to you all!

Well no baby yet, I talked to Tracy yesterday and today and she is only dialated to 1. So her orginal due date was April 1st, than the Dr saw the Ultrasound and said he thought she was 2 weeks further along and put a March 16th due date. But now maybe it will be the orginal due date. We will just have to wait and see. :lucky:

supergirl-Wow way to plan your outing, that was really smart bringing the healthy salad with you. And the run thru the woods was a great idea. I too love mushrooms and especially love them on pizza. :hun:

CJ-You are still doing so good with your exercise program. Isn't it amazing how far you walk when you don't pay attention to how far you are walking and just enjoy the walk? I am sure it will pay off big time for you. Way to go! Glad Trace has all her Thank you cards out now. She had 2 showers besides the one Kel and I gave her. One from her MIL and SIL and another one from her work given by her base co-workers the Recruiter squardon.

Liz-That IS funny that you have a Tyler and we are going to have a Tyler as well soon. That is great that you are down another pound, you are doing great. I hope that snowstorm isn't too bad for you. We too had beautiful weather in the 70's too the other day, now it is all cold again. Darn!

Talk to you guys later, Sassy :irish:

03-18-2007, 09:47 AM
well i was doing this food diary and exercise thing for the degree course i do. it involves writing down everything i ate and every bit of movement i did over 5 days. i then entered it into this programme and alot of boring stats later the programme stimulated that by decreasing my energy intake by 20% i would lose 0.5 kg a week thats 5 pounds a month. this to me seems pretty slow :( it'll take me 8 months to lose 40 pounds....
well im gonna hang in there anyways because at least it gives me a reason to be patient and well i dunno i expected to be more dissapointed than i am :D

03-18-2007, 09:16 PM
I don't think that 8 months seems like a long time to lose 40 pounds. Just think if you didn't work at it, it could be 8 months and you would lose nothing and be the same weight you were. So hang in there, and keep on doing what you are doing. But it sounds like you are willing to go the distance and are doing everything right, so good luck to you. YOU CAN DO THIS! WE ALL CAN!

Sassy Sharon :carrot:

03-19-2007, 10:31 PM
First, I'm sorry I haven't posted lately. I have been checking things out on occasion. I have been busy with tax season (is April 17 here yet??? lol), work, school, and home. I am getting ready to take me finals this week, then it is off school for a week. I can't wait for that week, either.

sharon--it was good to get your email. I sent you one just a few minutes ago. Congrats on the two grandbabies on the way. I know you will really enjoy being a grandma!! I'll be praying for your daughters that all goes well for them.

And hi to all the newbies. Hopefully, soon, I will be back to posting more often.

My weight is either the same or down some. I like to think down because the new size 22 jeans I bought are getting loose, and the new size 20's that were snug are now comfortable. I don't have the faintest idea where my scale is so I guess i will just have to wait to go back to the doctor's to weigh. I go back the middle of April, and really hoping the scale says 205 (or less--won't hurt my feelings).

Take care, and I will post soon, and try to get caught up in all that I have missed.

03-19-2007, 11:37 PM
Wow! I am sorry that I dropped off the face of the earth for awhile there! I just found out today that I am three weeks pregnant! My husband and I are super excited! We just started trying this month.:^: I am not sure that I will continue posting on this site until after the pregnancy since weight loss is not an option. My doc says that I should gain about 25... I hope everyone is doing well! You go girls!

03-22-2007, 08:48 AM
Good morning:

Congrats on the impending arrival!!! I was so excited to be expecting my first baby....not so excited the second time around though, my son was only 6 months old when my doctor told me I was 2 months pregnant with the second one. However once the initial shock wore off I was very glad to be welcoming another member to our family. I did not gain alot of weight with my babies, but I did not lose much after either. I am heavier now than I was when I was 9 months pregnant with both of my kids. I long for the day when I was 177 pounds...belive it or not that was my pre- pregnancy weight and I would love to be that again.

To that end I am here....plugging away at it...trying my best to avoid the bad foods and to eat the good foods and to do it in the right proportions. So far so good, but tomorrow Is my designated weigh in day. I will know tomorrow if my week has been a good one or a total wash out.

Last night was a wash out. I had a ladies group meeting at my house and of course wherever two or more women gather there will be food....I did eat more than I should have, but I did stay away from the Belgan chocolate truffle cheeze cake. I stuck mostly to cheeze and little bread rounds....I threw in a few grapes for good measure. I am feeling bad about it and thinking that I should walk to my appointment at the bank today.

Tomorrow the darned scales will tell me how good I did...even one pound will be a sucess...I dont expect to lose this overnight.

Have a good day. Keep smiling. (

Hi guys, My name is stephanie and I am 27 yrs old. I am new to this diet/exercise online thing but I can't seem to do it on my own so I thought I would join a group. Right now I want to loose weight for numerous reasons
1) I feel like crap-tired all the time
2)I am getting married next year and I don't want to look like a white blob in all my pictures
3)My sister had a preterm birth (10 weeks early) because she was so overweight and had blood pressure problems- and I don't want the same to happen to me

Unfortunatly despite all these good reasons to loose weight I am finding very hard to change my habits. I just like sitting around I anyway hopefully with your guys' help I can reach my goal before my wedding next summer. I probably should come up with a short term goal, but I am not sure how much I should aim for and in what kind of time frame- any suggestions?

I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week! Tomorrow's Friday!

03-22-2007, 01:02 PM
Good day everyone, sorry I haven't been in for a few days but I have had Bronchitis since Thursday and these meds are kicking my butt!! I haven't weighed myself though I haven't eaten much. Hopefully by the weekend I will be back to normal. Hope everyone is having a good day, Happy Spring!!!

03-23-2007, 12:02 AM
Finally!! My finals are over!!! I did awful on my math final. This is very disappointing to me as I have always done well in math. Straight A's in high school, but I really struggled with this class. Couldn't be the fact I'm working 2 jobs, am a single mom, and trying to find time to do homework, could it???? lol. Anyway, I think I did well on the other one, and I should find out in a day or two. I will pass both classes with at least a B in Math, and I'm hoping an A in the other class.

I went to the dr. last week because I just have not been feeling well. Can't put my finger on it othe that I'm tired (and I have been sleeping good), and just "don't feel good." I know that was a lot to go on for the doctor. I think I almost felt sorry for him trying to figure out what's wrong.

Well, I did get a diagnosis of stress. Stess? What's that?? He also had me get some blood drawn since it's been awhile for that. I got the results back today. I have a Vitamin D deficiancy. I will have to start taking a prescription for a Vitamin D supplement now. I also have a deficiancy in something else, but for the life of me can't remember the name of it. All I can remember is it starts with a "P", and it's not potassium. I will also have to start taking a prescription for that, too.

Then, another blood test came back low. I think the nurse said a 'sed' rate. She said a low one usually means inflamation or infection, but my white blood cell count is good, so it shouldn't be an infection. The doctor is thinking arthritis, and I have to go back this week for more blood work.

He did say the two deficiancies can explain my fatigue I've been having, and if I have arthritis (whick I was pretty sure I did anyway from what another dr. had said in regards to x-rays I had taken a few months ago), then that of course can explain the joint pain and stiffness I have.

Boy, it is sooo much fun getting older. I'm only 36, and feel like I'm falling apart already. What am I going to be like at 76?

I'm glad to finally have an explanation for my fatigue. I know working two jobs can wear anyone out, but this is worse than I have ever felt before. I know it sounds crazy, but I think I'm relieved something actually came back on the blood work. Make any sense??

Anyway, I'm getting off here and going to bed.

Have a great rest-of-the week, and weekend.

03-23-2007, 11:01 AM
Well I've lost 7.5lbs so far and I am very happy, though 2.5 has been while I have been sick so hopefully I can keep it off. Going back to the doctor today. Kimv your not old you just have a lot on your plate. It will even out trust me. Hope everyone has a nice day

03-23-2007, 03:50 PM
First of all a great big welcome to the newest Newbies: :wel3fc: Dallas/girlontheloose and Stephanie/looking4better. You will love our group, we will give you lots of support, encouragement and motivation. I am looking forward to getting to know you both. :flow2:

Still waiting for my grandson, Tyler to be born, for sure I guess. Looks like it will be probably be around April Fools Day as they first said. Anyways, daughter, Tracy called today and said nothing yet. So will see when it happens, can't hardly wait to go to Illinois when I get the call. :goodvibes

Kim-Woo whee! How great that your finals are finally over. But I'll bet you did better than you thought on your math one. You know with everything you do in your life, it is amazing that you did as well as you did and the important thing is that you will pass with good grades. I am so glad you went to the doctor and they found out what you will need to help you out. I know how you feel though about being relieved they found out something is wrong. You are just glad that they found what is wrong with you and you can work on getting back to normal. Sent a reply to your email back at you.

sara/slapacka-Wow congratulations to you for your pregnancy. You got pregnant pretty fast and are lucky. My other daughter who is due in October has been trying for over a year and finally was successful. It is your 1st baby, how wonderful. I saw on your bio that you have a Doberman named Tyson, and was wondering how he was going to like the baby. I'll bet he will just love being a buddy to him or her. :whoo:

lpgoad-Congrats on your 7.5 lb weight loss, how great is that. That is a rough way to lose part of that weight, but now that weight is gone I know you will continue doing what you have been doing. Hope you are feeling better soon. :goodvibes

stephanie-looking4better-Welcome and it is good to have you join our great Thin Wannabee's. You are so right, it is hard trying to do this on your own. You are wanting to lose weight for all the right reasons. I know this will help your out when you lose the weight so that you are not tired all the time, you will have so much more energy. Also on the plus side, when you get married you will be looking like a dream in white. Good luck, I know you will do this. :carrot:

girlontheloose/Dallas-Glad you posted a thread on our site and took my advise and came over to post with us. You will love it here and will be most welcomed by this great group. You did a great job on your ladies night, avoiding the yummy cheesecake, I don't know if I could have resisted. Give yourself a pat on the back. No matter what the scale says don't beat yourself over it. You are learning better food choices and if you keep on doing what you are doing it will pay off big time and remember that small steps will add up to the results you want. :dust:

I have been slowly making progress. I had not went to my WW classes for about 6 weeks, between the baby shower I gave for Tracy, going out of town to Illinois and Michigan I just wasn't doing what I was soppose to do. I had gained a few pounds, but last week I lost 1 lb and this week lost another 1 1/4 so I am on my way.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, and remember the weekend is coming, so have a great one. Talk to you soon. :sunny:

Love, Sassy Sharon :cheer2:

I need help! I have to lose weight!! How do I get through one whole day eating right? Any advice would be appreciated.

Good Morning all:

My weekly weigh in did nothing to improve my mood yesterday. I dont know how it happened but I am up 3 pounds from last week. It is astounding that I could have gained weight!!

It is so hard to stay focused and positive when something like that happens, and so yesterday I had a bad day. I even had KFC for supper. However I am not going to use it as an excuse to dump the whole thing. It is a set back and that is all it will be to me. I managed to get out for a nice walk yesterday too, so I guess all is not lost.

I will keep at it, hard as it may be.

Keep smiling. (

Just saw you two had posted and thought I would reply:

Dallas-I know you won't give up, the fact that you went for a walk the same day, is a great positive start. Remember, today is a brand new day. Just Keep on doing what you are doing. :woohoo:

I have had days like that too, where I eat something I know good and well I shouldn't have. I too try just to not worry about it cause if I fret over it than I know I will literally keep on eating till the end of the day. So that is so good that you did what you did. Hang in there and keep it up, it will pay off big time for us. :encore:

fitchicktobe-I think if you just have the right foods on hand that is half the battle. I finally decided to get with it and now always have good and heathy food and snacks on hand. I went to the store and got plenty of fruits, vegetables, lean chicken, turkey and beef, those jellos and puddings, nuts like almonds and some 100 calorie snacks like Wheat Thins, and other packets so I don't eat the whole darn box of them. :hungry:

I say just take it one day at a time and try it for one day, go shopping for healthy foods and see if it doesn't make a difference. I say it would cost just as much for all the junk food I was eating. I know you can do this. YOU CAN DO THIS. You will feel so much better for it. :lucky:

Hope this helps!

Sassy Sharon :genie:

My final grade in math is a B. I am happy with that, and relieved it's over with. My final grade in keyboarding III is an A. Right where I want it to be.

I had to go in to the doctor's office today for more blood work. What this time around is looking for is rheumatoid arthritis, gout (not sure if that's spelled right), and inflammation. Exactly what is meant by inflammation, I'm not sure. And, I'm really hoping I don't have the first two. My dad has gout, and I know he can get pretty miserable at times with it. I'm just going to pray it all comes back okay, and keep my fingers crossed, too.

I did get the chance to weigh myself while I was at the dr. office today. I am down another pound and a half to 206.5. This is the end of the 10 week/10 pound weight loss challange I joined, and I almost did it. Only shy by 1/2 a pound. I am so happy to see the scale going down for a change. Unfortunatly, some of the reading I've been doing on the vitamin D deficiency says "unexplained" weight loss can be a sign of it. Hope that doesn't mean I end up gaining this little bit of weight back when I start feeling better. I haven't been trying real hard to loose, but have put forth a small effort. Maybe I'm going to come out okay with it, and manage to keep it off, and loose more.

That's it for now. Heading to bed. Got to work at H&R Block tomorrow. I think I'm going to ask my office leader just to take me off the schedule for the rest of the season since I don't have a lot of energy right now, and my other job's schedule is so crazy I can't work a lot of my scheduled days any way. Granted, I only work about 6 hours a week now, but it might as well be 60 with the way I've been feeling.

Hello everyone! a big WELCOME to all the newbies here! I am so sorry I have not been around to post. I just have been in a bit of a "funk" lately and haven't felt like "talking" if you know what I mean. I'm sorry. This post will be a short one but I wanted to make myself present and let you know I am thinking of you all and glad that you all have joined our group! I promise I will work out of this "glitch" that I am in and be more socialble soon! But, I am still going to Curves every day and am now up to 4-5 miles walkiing at the Sportsplex.

Ditto on was Sassy said - it does make a difference when those hungries hit if you have good stuff to grab rather than the bad snacks! YOU CAN DO THIS - just keep taking one day at a time!

5 lbs a month I think is great! I'm lucky if I lose 1 lb in a month! So don't be impatient - it is better to lose slowly anyway .. the lbs are more apt to stay off if you lose slowly. Hang in there .. the time will pass quickly .. YOU CAN DO IT.

CONGRATULATIONS on your pregnancy! How exciting for you and hubby. I hope you will still post here with us - this is not just weight loss only - let us know how your pregnancy is doing.

That's great that your finals are done. I'm glad that you found out what is wrong with you and can take the proper meds to feel better. Hang in there, things will get better for you. And I'm sure you got a good mark on your math test - even if it isn't as good as you wanted.

WTG on your 7.5 lb weight loss!

Welcome to the Thin Wannabee's. Yes, it it so hard to lose weight on your own - it helps to be with others in the same situation. That's where we come in - we all can help each other! I know you are going to be a beautiful bride come summer! Good Luck! and keep posting!

Welcome to the Thin Wannabees! I think you did a great job on your ladies night by passing up that cheesecake. You just have to take small steps at a time and you will get to your desired weight. Keep a positive attitude! And even tho you had a weight gain and a bad eating day - don't give up! Just start each day with a new outlook .. I have bad days myself but I just start fresh the next day! REMEMBER - YOU CAN DO THIS!

Well, I am cutting this short as I have to get dressed to go to Curves.

Love, CJ
