That would be Subway, if you're counting that!

Don't do any of the others... :barf:

Taco Bell. I love their chicken soft tacos and maybe once every couple of months I allow myself to indulge in one of my favorite sinful TB treats - either the Mexican Pizza or the Taco Salad.

However, even those I modify to save as much fat and calories as possible. The Mexican Pizza I always order without beans or cheese (believe it or not they're not too bad minus the cheese) and the Taco Salad I always get without beans, cheese or sour cream. I bring it home and put my own fat-free sour cream on it.

I also love Subway.

My choice is Baja Fresh, thats as usually as fast food as I get. I haven't been there in a couple months though. DH and I were going almost every week, splitting a burrito.

I usually get Panda Express. I substitute rice for steamed veggies, and I don't get anything fried or in heavy sauce. I check the calorie count before I get something. And I usually bulk up on water that day too.

Interesting question. Same EXACT question as on the Cooking Light board. Are you the same person (Tofu N Sprouts?).

Answer--Del Taco or Burger King.

Used to be Taco Bell - for a burrito supreme minus meat.
But I haven't gone there in about a year! (Since I found out they use MSG in just about everything)
So I haven't been to any fast food places in a year!

Spiny - If you want some good burritos (but they are big, I recommend cutting in half), I recommend Baja Fresh. They don't use any MSG. Although if you are in CA, there are so many good burrito places mmmm. I miss california :)

Subway when I am out, Popeyes although I only get the naked strips and Wendy's on the rare occasion I want a hamburger. I try and get a salad instead of the fries.

It used to be McDonald's because it's closest to me but I haven't been there in months. Don't miss it much, though. That's not to say if you put a cheeseburger and fries in front of me that I wouldn't eat it or be tempted to, but I'm not dying for it. :p Once in a while I would really want their pancakes but that, too, hasn't occupied my mind for a while. I like Wendy's, too, but that was always like maybe a once or twice a year thing. I enjoy Subway as well, did have one of their 6" subs a couple of weeks ago.

I'm proud to say I don't actually remember the last time I ate fast food. . .

I think it was about 6 months ago, a Tim Horton's sandwich. Can't call it a favourite, it was just there when I needed something quick on a road trip.

I love McDonald's fries, but won't do that to my body.

I gave up fast food completely the day I changed my life. I still go to Subway and Chipotle/Qdoba. At Subway, I get a turkey wrap with spinach and tons of vegetables and spicy mustard. At Chipotle and Qdoba, I get a burrito in a bowl (no tortilla), rice, chicken, 2 scoops pico, tons of lettuce and a side order of guacamole (I only eat half the guacamole). I would do something like Panda Express (go for steamed vegetables, or a tofu dish over rice) but there aren't many around here. There are also some "fast food" sushi and teriyaki places around where it's easy to make good choices.

Panera because there is one close by and the sandwiches are more interesting than Subway. I only eat half a sandwich (I actually have them wrap the two halves separately), so it fits pretty easily into my calorie plan. The sandwiches are plenty big enough that just half is filling. Sometimes I do the half sandwich with a cup of fat-free chicken soup combo. We take the sandwiches with us to baseball games so that we don't have to eat ballpark food and also take them with us for a picnic lunch when hiking.

I gave up fast food completely the day I changed my life.

That's probably the best thing!

When I first started my new lifestyle, I went over a year without setting foot in a fast food restaurant. I had to give myself time to become 'trained' to trust myself with certain foods and trust myself to make better decisions. I stayed away from fast food and food buffets altogether. After about a year and a few months, I felt more confident that I could occasionally add in my "sinful" little treats without overdoing it. And I continued to lose weight because I simply counted everything in with my calories. But before I had myself 'trained', I wouldn't have trusted myself to walk into Taco Bell without ordering chili cheese burritos and mexican pizzas or a food buffet without going for every single thing that was breaded and fried. I had to get myself deep into that I don't want fat swimming through my veins mentality.

Now, thankfully, I'm very picky about that. If it's deep-fried, keep it away from me. If it's swimming in butter or cheese, I won't go near it. Probably the only deep-fried thing I eat now is when I have my SINFUL taco salad, which is a rare occurance. The shell is deep-fried, just like the shells they use on the mexican pizzas. And once in a very great while I have to have one piece of fried chicken, my absolute favorite thing in the world. I don't believe in deprivation, just extreme moderation.

Carls Jr - If I am running around and can't get to my food supplies or cook my own food, I get a BBQ chicken sandwich. 360 calories for lunch, 34 g of protein, and it will keep me going for a while until I am home and/or can get to healthier options.

I forgot about Panera. I like Panera too but it isn't my favorite sandwich shop. I like it a lot better than subway. One of my favorites is Atlanta Bread Company. I think their sandwiches are way better than Panera.

I guess its quasi fast food, but I also like kabob places too. DH and I will usually go to a kabob place nearby once a month and eat half an entree.

Ok, You are all making me hungry!
Do you know that you can get a healthier option at Taco Bell? The ranchero chicken soft taco Fresno style is yummy and has only 4 grams of fat. The cinnomon twists are a yummy low cal/low fat treat too! Other then that I get salads everywhere now at fast food places. Burger King has yummy grilled chix salad.

Panera, Tropical Smoothie, Chick-fil-a.
I'll even admit that in the summer when I am out of the state at my summer job, I've been known on the really stressful weeks to drive 1 hour to chickfila in Delaware for some nuggets and ice tea. It's sad really, but true. Of course, it evens out then cause i just don't have time to eat anything on a regular basis!

At CL, they are referring to the post as a viral marketing device and several people there noticed the odd-ness of the post from a newbie.

I don't eat fast food, never did. I can't remember the last time I went to McDonalds or Burger King by choice - I know that the last time I was coerced into going there was roughly two years ago on a business trip when my boss was driving and stopped at Burger King to get some food. It was either eat there or go hungry.

Fast food has never been my issue. It just doesn't appeal to me. Chocolate and wine, on the other hand...

I just lost all respect for Carls Jr. This is CLEARLY viral (hello? same post on two "light" boards? For the product that Carls is currently HEAVILY marketing via TV ads, web spots, etc?) And advertising not healthy options, but fried chicken sandwiches with over 26 g of fat?

Ugh. I'd totally report the thread if the conversation itself wasn't good.

I guess the attempt at marketing must not be working too well, since everybody named other restaurants anyway. Heck, I live in NYC and I don't even know what Carl's Jr. is. Is it prominent in certain regions or have I missed it because it doesn't have golden arches? :D

you ladies are good for noticing that... I never would have guessed that to be spam. Don't really like Carl's jr. When I lived in Cali I had it - but it was some of the worst (diet wise) food for you. I don't know anything about their politcs. Please explain.
I try to stay away from fast food. I'm not always good at it. My step son works at McDonalds and I drop him off at work about 3-4 times a week. Last week I was tempted and broke down and had a big mac. The worst part - it was soooo good! Isn't that terrible!

When I lived in Canada I would have a "lick's" burger.. made fresh in front of you.. Yummy!! I don't want to know the calories thou!

Fast food here at home is a veggie burger.. yummy!

A few comments: Good eyes! I cant believe you caught that Carls Jr. thing. Has anybody pulled the plug in the CL board? Really, doesnt look like it phased them anyway.

Gary, you are a smart man! You found a place to support your goals and talk to pretty ladies at the same time! I will be very careful not to call you a girl!!

As an Ex-NYer, Carls Jr is nothing to rave about. Just another fast food place.

My answer is Sweet Tomatos or also known as Souplanation. For those who are not familiar, you walk in to the door and get a tray and fill a plate of salad stuff. Then you pay for the meal, $8. Then you can move on to the soup, pasta, and desert (fruit, ff pudding, frozen yogurt) It's my kids favorite place cause they can "cook"
