Well, I had my 1 year post op appointment this week along with all the bloodwork, etc. My results were great.
- I have lost about 100# since the surgery on 3/1/06.
- I have lost about 80% of my excess body fat.
- I have no problems with malabsorption or malnutrition. All my protein, vitamin, etc. levels were at or above normal. The dietician was very pleased with my diet choices with one exception---I need to try to eat more calories! I have never had someone tell me to eat more calories. I was around a 1000 daily & she said she would like to see around 1200.
- My Blood Pressure was good. I am off all but one med that isn't for my Rheumatoid Arthritis. (I take a much lower dose for my High Blood Pressure--I have bad family history with that)
My original goal was 160, I've dropped it to 150 now. If I achieve that, I'll go for 140. If that doesn't happen, I'm happy with my body as it is now. I can move with minimal pain, I don't have a great deal of excess skin & I am healthy!
All in all LIFE IS GOOD--THANK YOU GOD! I also want to thank all of you for your support and advice during this last year of my journey. This is a wonderful caring group & I am grateful to be a part of it.
