Well, I had my 1 year post op appointment this week along with all the bloodwork, etc. My results were great.

I have lost about 100# since the surgery on 3/1/06.
I have lost about 80% of my excess body fat.
I have no problems with malabsorption or malnutrition. All my protein, vitamin, etc. levels were at or above normal. The dietician was very pleased with my diet choices with one exception---I need to try to eat more calories!:joker: I have never had someone tell me to eat more calories. I was around a 1000 daily & she said she would like to see around 1200.
My Blood Pressure was good. I am off all but one med that isn't for my Rheumatoid Arthritis. (I take a much lower dose for my High Blood Pressure--I have bad family history with that)My original goal was 160, I've dropped it to 150 now. If I achieve that, I'll go for 140. If that doesn't happen, I'm happy with my body as it is now. I can move with minimal pain, I don't have a great deal of excess skin & I am healthy!

All in all LIFE IS GOOD--THANK YOU GOD! I also want to thank all of you for your support and advice during this last year of my journey. This is a wonderful caring group & I am grateful to be a part of it. :thanks:

Congratulations Loodie!!! I'm glad everything is going so well for you. Has anybody heard from Hubs. I keep wondering how she's doing.

Thanks Jiffy & Magi. I'm feeling pretty good about the last year. The only thing I can't tolerate is refined sugar stuff--At least I couldn't earlier & I am not about to try it again. I'm better off believing that I can't eat it than try it and get hooked again.

Jiffy, I'm in the Indianapolis area so am aways from Bluffton, also I've only been here 3 years--originally from SD, then IA, then WI, then OH, but hey midwest roots are good.

Magi, I too often think of Hubs and keep her in prayer. That's the downer of online support groups, unless the person posts (or someone for them--like Sharmel's hubby), you don't know how they are doing.
