I've been bad. And maybe a little delusional. Basically, I haven't been watching what I was eating or doing. I've been lazy and the scale showed it. As always, I have a plan. Rejoining WW Thursday......and I just realized that is Thanksgiving. I wonder if they are still going to have it? Regardless, I'm rejoining this week and am going back to counting my points and writing everything down. I'm getting a fresh start in other areas of my life - new job, new state - why not my WL?

Shari – We all get tested on this journey to a healthy lifestyle. I’m glad you didn’t beat yourself up to much and have came up with a fix. I think rejoining WW will get you motivated and moving once again to be a loser. Sounds like a fresh and wonderful start is on its way!

Well I went to meet my orthopedic surgeon today. I was given two options. 1. was a to have an MRI and see if I have Bursitis and to see how best to treat this. He believes I do in fact have it. 2. Was to give me a cortisone shot and continue with physical therapy. I’m not to do any heavy lifting or twisting movements with my arm. I’m to take my meds. I have to go back on the Dec. 21 to see if all is ok. If not he wants me to have an MRI and possible surgery.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

I'm kinda proud of myself. My auntie called early this morning wanting to know if I was coming by. She sent over my cousin to pick me up. Called my mama, her and the family were watching football, of course. My auntie made a FABULOUS Thanksgiving dinner. I had a little of everything and I was FULL! A FIRST! Usually, I get seconds....thirds...sometimes fourths but not today. I think it's because she put spinach in the mac'n'cheese (that rocked out loud!). When I left, all I had on my to-go plate was mounds of spinach mac and a little sliver (I've never seen a piece that small....and I cut it!) of sweet potato pie.....my favorite pie! So I think I did good. :)

TOM arrived yesterday so I went to Walmart and brought apples and wheat pretzels to combat the sugar and salt cravings. Now, I just need my jug of diet coke and I'll be okay. :)

Where are all my girls at?

I've decided that as soon as I get to Texas, I'm going to find a dance class. Dance class has been the only class that I have went to even though I was always the biggest, most ackward, and usually was so self concious i almost cried. But I love dance so much even though I have two left feet. I want to get better. So I'm going to bite the bullet and do it. I'm going to accomplish something I want FOR ONCE dammit!

4 days to go.....hold my hand.:bb:

Shari - Am keeping my fingers crossed you find a wonderful instructor. I love to dance I'm not very good but do it anyways.

On my side... the reason I've been MIA is my daughter had a miscarriage. She had her tubes tied after her daughter was born. (15 months ago) She had no idea she was pregnant. She was at my home and said she hadn't been feeling well then it happen. She had a normal period the last couple months (I had my period for a couple months when I had my son) I'm not very good with words we are just so shocked and saddend by this. I'm trying to eat on plan but somedays I just don't care... I know I need to get back to things and I will... I really can't write much more right now.

I've decided not to weight myself until the 1st of the year. I don't know if my weight gain will effect me to an I just don't care stage. I'm also ready to lose some serious LBS and not see them ever again. So let's kick some bum!

Hey everyone. So my first week in SA is about to come to a end and I have seen NOTHING! I've just been trying to survive in a tiny hotel room with four other people, without my car, without shooting myself. LOL But Mama found a apartment today so soon I will have some peace! And I'm going up to get my car this weekend so I will be able to start exploring this new city. This week has been crappy eating wise also. I had NO money coming down here so I've had to eat what my fam has and let me tell you WHITE BREAD SUCKS! Ugh! Maybe I've gotten spoiled on wheat bread. Can't wait till I get paid this weekend and get some REAL food!

Hey everyone. Yeah, it's me, I'm back....kinda. Settling down in SA, haven't met anyone and kinda lonely, my shyness is kicking my ***! Haven't been OP for the past three weeks, kinda hard when you have NO money and your family eats....unclean (white bread and fried chicken :barf:). BUT I have starting drinking green tea (with sugar...that's all they have!) and eating grapefruit....and I do have to walk everywhere so it's a start. As you can see, I've wiped the slate clean so to speak. Starting over new. Kind of crazy that all this stuff is changing at the beginning of the new year huh? Mama found a apartment, I have to share a room with my sister (who is as spoiled as three year old milk) and that is driving me NUTS but the place has a free little gym so that cool. I'm still joining a gym cause I want to get into yoga and dance but it's nice that on days I can't make it there, I can just walk next door to the apartment fitness room. Hope to be back in full mode soon! Peace!

So today was a okay day. My teeth have been hurting since this morning and it's caused a headache. :( I can't wait to get my dental back so I can go get this fixed!

I need to start paying more attention to the sales ad in the newspaper cause Walgreens had a sale on those fabulous Fiber One bars and it ended tonight! I was only able to get two boxes.

They were also having a sale on that Special k protein water. They were only $1 each so I got one of each flavor (they only had two). Has anyone tried these?

:celebrate::hb:HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my little brother Marquis who is 14 today! I'm still trying to figure out how that happened since yesterday he was two and attached to my hip. :?: I felt HORRIBLE cause I got up this morning, saw him all day, and didn't wish him a happy birthday! BUT I didn't know today's date until I was on the bus on the way to work! :dizzy: He doesn't care though. Mama brought him a new Yugioh game and he's been occupied all day. I brought him some sunflower seeds and soda when I got off work. :)

Well, I DID IT! Finally! Went to both the meeting and gym today. :carrot: The meeting was very nice, even though (as usual!) I was the youngest there. At the assessment, the trainer was surprised at my strength. I told her, 'I'm healthy, I'm just fat'. :dizzy: I created a page on Xanga.com, this one is just for my WL progress. Hey Shari,
I know I been MIA for sometime well you know about my daughter. Well shortly after that my mother in law passed. I thought I had everything under control then I log on and see a wonderful friend I met on 3FC 100 club has passed due to cancer. I tell you I was taken completely off guard! She was a wonderful person and the main reason I've not given up my fight with fat!
I feel so lost and ready to say the heck with it all. But I can't I know Sarah would say to me. Don't give up Mezster!! You can do this!
So here I am ready to fight and honor Sarah for that fire she instilled in me. I know it's just an ember but soon it will be a blazing flame!
I'm ready 10lbs at a time!

It's really nice to be back. My husband bought me The Beck Diet Book before christmas. (I was so happy since It was sold out everytime I went to the bookstore) I've only read a few pages the other day. It sound very interesting. It uses cognitive therapy techniques for dieting . So it's will work with any plan.
I don't have a set plan and I really need to set one in stone so I don't stray. I weight myself and noticed that I am at the same weight as in Oct. Which is nice since I expected a huge gain.
I'm glad to hear your all moved into your new home and have found a fitness center. After I log off her I need to sit down and write my fitness plan down. I
know that it will improve my mental state so I'm going to try 15 minutes a day.
Well I better get moving.

Shari - I need to start moving bum also. This is what I have the most time struggling with. I know I need to make time for this even if it's 10 minutes.

Update on The Beck Diet Book. It is a real eye opener! I'm only on my 3rd day and it's has stopped me from eating and buying junk! It really made me think about my reason for losing weight. One note on the book if you do plan on doing this you'll need a few office supplies sticky notes, recipe cards and a notebook. (at least that is what I've had to buy so far)

JasonsLea
02-04-2008, 02:55 PM

Shari if it's one thing we know is those little losses add up to big losses in time.
It's nice to see the scale move. Congrats.

Well I am now going to try and start my day at 5 am so I can things in order so I have time to workout before the grandkids get here. I'm not so sure it will work out since I don't want to grumpy or tired when they are here. My grandson is doing great with his reading. He's loves Biscuts books right now. He's one smart cookie! (Spoken like a true grandma) I try and plan out the day and today is going to be art day. They love to fingerpaint and color to music. I just found some sissors that say they are for toddlers. The others I have are still to big for my grandson to use. I think they are geared towards grade school.
I think I'm going to weight myself everyday so I can see how my weight is flexing this winter. When TOM is on it's way I can go up 5 lbs! (and I never know when it's comming!) So this will be a good key for me to go by.

Everyone is back and the house is in chaos again but this time WAY more cramped! I've decided to move out by March. Overtime overload this month for sure! At least Mama brought my scale for me! I feel a little more complete now. :D

Since St. Val day is Thursday, I've decided to surpass my WI tomorrow and just wait. Two extra days to try to undo some TOM damage. I went to Gold's today! The one closest to me is unimpressive. :( Pool and jacuzzi is way smaller than the one at the Y in Birmingham AND it's RIGHT smack out there were all can see! I mean, as SOON as you walk in, you see the pool! No frosted glass or anything! *sigh* I went into the locker room and this nice older lady tried to assure me that no one evers pays attention to people in the pool but I have doubts. You know I'm self concious. I wondered around the locker room, it was so-so, and they only have a sauna. I hate saunas! I love steam rooms! I can't wait till I get my car. Hopefully other Golds around San Antonio are a little better. :?:

mezmerize
02-12-2008, 07:58 AM
Shari do you have an house/apt in mind? Good idea to way for your weight in. I would not feel comfortable where they located the pool. Personally I think it’s there more for looks than to get people to work out. Ok I’m a dork what is the difference between a sauna and a steam room?

As for me I’m tried as heck today! I went to bed early but guess not early enough. I’m having terrible thoughts of what if the weight doesn’t come off no matter what I do. Not like a plateau but like my body won’t let go. I know it’s not possible but the feeling is there and I’m having a heck of a time over coming it!

JasonsLea
02-13-2008, 04:09 AM
Mez ~

A sauna is this REALLY hot room that has this thing with hot rocks that you can put water on to get a little steam. A steam room is really hot too but it's constantly pumping in steam so you're damp. In a sauna you're hot but a kinda stuck in the desert without water hot and a steam room you're still hot but you feel kinda hydrated at the same time.....and it just feels AWESOME! Confused yet? LOL

Geez I'm tired once again...maybe TOM will be showing it's ugly self soon. Yesterday I did a science project with my grandson. It's tiny volcano (size of a kiwi) plactic toy. He had a blast well both my grandkids did. They kept sticking their fingers in the hole so they could get the bubbles on them. I don't know how many times I refilled it lets just say I went though 1/2 bottle of vinager. He wanted to take it home to show his dad. So I sent the rest of the vinager and some baking soda. It is a rather cute and next time I'll add food coloring to the vinager. Seeing them lol really made my day.

Pinup – Welcome back!! Congrats on your loss and maintaining!

Shari – Congrats on your 1.6 loss!!!

As for me my husband bought me Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party for my workouts. It has a get in shape and track your calories workout mode. I’m going to try it later today. He asked if I wanted to go out for dinner. I said yes. I placed my order along with a to go box. So when I got my food I put ½ of what I got in. I didn’t eat all what I had left. So that went into the box. I also wasn’t the least bit hungry!!! So I’m keeping those fingers tightly cross this continues. My daughter bought me Heelys. I’ve been wanting those forever. LOL My son has been my strictest protester! I was big into roller skating teen up to high school. (our rink closed) My son seen them and said mom please don’t skate with them in the stores! LOL . I said I won’t I’ll just skate down to your class to get you at the end of the day. J/K Should have seen the look on his face. I’m not sure if he thinks I’m too old or too fluffy for them. Personally I think they are going to be a blast with the grandkids this summer. I have skates for my grandson or he can ride his scooter or bike while I Heely.

02-18-2008, 09:33 AM
ok, so i'm on a constant roller coaster with my weight. I lost 60# after my daughter was born, then i got pregnant with my son and now i'm almost back to as heavy as i was before i had my daughter. I bought a juicer, did well in january with it, lost 10#, but for feb i just couldnt get my act together. \i went back to work after my mat leave and while i've maintained the 10# loss, i havent lost any more. i'm thinking of trying that nutrisystem diet where you order the food. has anyone tried that and has it worked at all, or am i just better to go the cheaper way and portion my own food.

mezmerize
02-18-2008, 01:45 PM
Shari - I was really good on skates once. I've yet to try out the heelys. I can't wait I just don't have time. Right now I'm wearing the shoes so I get use to how they feel before I try skating.

jellybeanz - Welcome! What cute babies!! I tried nutrisystem a long time ago I didn't like the food. So naturally it was better for me to go my own. Right now I'm learning to eat healthy with Weight Watchers Pure Points Software. It's WW on my computer. A friend bought me the software long ago. So I dont go to meetings or anything. I'm also reading The Beck Diet Solutions. It's a step by step program to retrain your eating habits. It has been working wonderful for me. That is the key to WL you need to find something that will work for you! So just because nutrisystem didn't work for me it might for you. Personally I feel there are so many healthy foods out there these days and I need to retrain myself with the foods I confront everyday.

My husband bought some fiber bars. I'll have to give one a try. The new food/drinks I've tried since my restart are those Special K Protien Drinks. I love the tea and I just now am trying the strawberry kiwi. They have 2 box sizes I bought the one that has 14 packets. ($7.?? a bit expensive but so is fast food I don't buy anymore) They are 30 calories 5g Fiber 0 Sugars and 5 grs protien.

I also bought a South Beach Living On the Go Protien Drinks. 7 Packets and I Believe they were $2.?? I bought the troical Breeze it is also good. It also has 30 calories but only 3g of Protien it does have 5 g of fiber. I'm using them in my workouts. I heard somewhere protien will give you more energy so what the heck it's worth a try. I don't care for workouts...I'm trying to faze out that hate word.. and contiune to use better maybe someday I'll write I love to workout. :) Speaking of workouts I'm giving myself 1/2 hr on here then off to workout.

Well it looks like surgery for me on Monday. One of the gallstones I have is 1 1/2 inch. It was pretty much of a done deal as far as surgery no thinking about it. So off to the doctor thurday to make sure my heart and lungs et are ok for it. If they do laparoscopic my recover will be quicker since it's only 4 small incisions usually recover time is around 10 days. If they have to open me enough for his hand to get through it's will be 4 days in the hospital and much longer recovery. I was told that the doctor plans on doing it laparoscopic but things may change durning surgery and he will do open surgery. I sure hope not since it will leave a bigger scar and the recovery time. So that is where I sit now. I've have to make a to do list of things I'll need done before Monday. Plus they said shop for the food you plan to eat afterward. I'll try and pop on to answer, support and just be there for you guys. If what I say is short please don't be offended. Take Care

I'm glad you feel better. I've heard this from about everyone! Mine is getting below 200lbs. Everytime I get close I jump back up. I've lost 40 lbs 3 times now. It really gets me upset. I'm thinking the only way I'm going to get below is if I loss 11 lbs in the days it takes me to recover from my operation. I don't see that happening. The Beck Book is really helping me with the little things I do with out thinking. Like how much I actually eat while standing be it at store samples, while cooking and getting the grandkids meals ready. I never thought I did it that much! So 1 day they just want you to noticed yourself doing it then the next is to try and curb it. I continued til I no longer do that. I still catch myself then I go and sit but to be honest. To me it's not worth it to go and sit each time I want to pop something in my mouth. So I no longer do that. They also teach about when you desire something or if it's a craving or true hunger. It has stopped me from eating when I realised what I was feeling. There are so many chapters maybe there is one on this mental block we go through I'll read ahead and see what they say. I've been stuck on on chapter right now. Your to eat breakfast but skip lunch and so you know what true hunger is get to know that feeling. Then say to yourself this isn't fatal I will be fine until I cook a healthy meal I'm not straving. I can wait I'm in control... you know a pep talk. I've not been able to do that yet. I think I'm stalling because fittness is comming up. UGH!

I have no willpower.:( I can't resist overeating in this house! I'm weak. This is a complete cop-out but I'm done fighting myself over food until I get my own place. I'm done weighing myself until I get my own place. BUT I will start getting into a workout routine again. My goals this month will be purely aerobic. :woops:

Shari, I'm sorry to hear your having such a problem with eating. It's not a cop out. Your dealing with alot. Try and take a deep breath and think of when the binges hit you. I know this is hard but do you think somthing is triggering it.
If you can get some veggies cut up and eat those. Try and make a list of things you can do instead of eating. Give yourself some time to try and stop it. Like 5 minutes or more. You can do this we just need to figure out a way.I am happy to see you have an aerobic plan. That is a huge plus! I just took my meds so I hope you understand what I wrote.

Shari, How it is going? I doing ok still in pain but it's something I have to push thought. The meds make me so tired so I'm trying to keep moving. I did 1 mile WATP express walk. I didn't do the back kicks but kept walking. I really felt it in my belly and at the end I wanted to do maybe another mile but I stopped myself. I have alot of housework to catchup on. So I did some not all. I still have to do a few dishes. I did get the major stuff done laundry and vaccuming/dusting. I'm just so darn tired but I know won't be able to do the housework if I didn't take my meds. Double edge sword.

Shari – I’m doing better. I went to get my staples out last Thursday but they left one in. I didn’t get my walking in because it kind of slip open this weekend. I put some butterfly closures bandages on it. That seem to work but thought best to wait until today to workout. I this last one out Wed. My eating yesterday was a bit out of control. I think partly to TOM but who knows. I was 2lbs down now I’m treading stepping on the scale. Fingers crossed on that apt.

PinupDreams – Congrats on the 4lbs loss!

As for me like mentioned above dreading weighing in. I plan on walking my LS 4 Mile Fast walk. Minus the jogging since my doctor said I couldn’t do that.

Okay, okay I have a plan of course. When have I ever been without a plan, huh? Everything's cool. I just need to get back in the groove of things. I brought most of my clothes back from Bama so hopefully one of these bags has my swimsuit in it. :crossed: If so, I can start back with water aerobics and my exercise will be set. :swim: As for eating, I've decided to try a bit of intuitive eating, along with limited sweets and no fast food. I managed to get my 4 mile fast walk in. I only walked. I did sweat so that is great. I'm hoping I have only 1 more week then I can jog. I get my last staple out tomorrow so happy days! Thanks well the last staple is out and I'm told I can jog for a month or so.
I didn't feel any pain when they took out the staple but shortly after I got home it felt sore so I decided it was best not to walk today. I asked about putting this stuff that is supose to lessen scars they said the doctor doesn't like that stuff put until it's completely healed. So you guessed it another month. I'm feeling bingish (lol is that a word) I think it's from the stress of not working out and TOM. I've got veggies steaming now and I haven't gone over in points so I'll have to put in a movie to keep my mind off this.

Shari – I’m sorry to hear things are so crazy right now. Maybe once you get settled in thing will start to fall into place. Kudos on your eating and getting rid of your diet pepsi. I’ve seen those ear buds stuff. It kind of makes me laugh because earbuds hurt my ears it’s like the hole is too small. I told my husband this and he just gave me a weird look. Is that way your got them? Nice camera! Awww yes music is a must!!!

As for me today. I went shopping last night and found a few items. There were some really cool necklaces one was on clearance and the other on sale. So I got them. I picked up a couple tops size XL and a couple silky shirt size 14/16 which I’m so happy to fit into. I also bought size 14 jeans. While I don’t see my weight loss the clothes are sure showing it.

Is it too late to join? I saw that quote (about losing 10 lbs 10 times) a while back and thought it was great. I need to lose a total of about 125 lbs. I am in a family WW club and started at 335 and am down to 328, so I'll make 335 my start and I have 3lbs to go!! I weigh in on Tuesdays as that's "Fat Club" day! ha A little about me: I'm 26 and single, work in daycare. And I need to start exercising! Ugh. 1/4 of the year is over, how are you doing so far?

I got a compliment today: this nurse in one of the units looked at me as I was pushing the dirty tray carts and said 'You have such a smooth complexion, just flawless......it's beautiful.' I just stood there, sweating bullets, my hair itching like a MF in that damn net, and smiled. -----

I ended up at my first weight watchers meeting on Sunday (decided to go a couple of days earlier). I hate how much my weight went up since last summer. Actually it really didn't go up until November. I maintained at 162-ish for a good while.

I weighed in at 186.4 (weight watchers scale, not sure how mine is w/ the ww scale - which is depressing as I got down to 152 last summer), but I know the gain could have been a lot worse, so I really can't complain too much.

But the goal is 176.4 then.

10 lbs., 10 times - so smart. I went on this website when it first started and it was tiny and very easy to follow. I hope I get this into some sort of place where I can connect with other people. I'd love it if anyone reading this can tell me how to join a discussion group. My binge brain has taken over my life - it's like the only comfort I can get is to eat, but the problem is, it's starting to affect my health as well as my life in general. I have a daughter in college and am now living with and taking care of my disabled mother. It's a trap I can't get out of, but I must figure out how to have some hope and create some kind of life where I do not destroy myself. Thoughts?

Hi Lola....Well, I would say to first clean out your cabinets and pantry of all unhealthy foods, especially the comfort foods. When you go shopping, make a list and stick to it. Doing some research ahead of time has helped me a lot. Preparation to me is key...so if you can find a few minutes here and there to plan out your day, you are less likely to eat something else.

Just a few tidbits that have worked for me. I wish you well!

:welcome: Lola!

Well I was right, TOM screwed me over. I'm back up to my starting weight. Boo-hoo. It's a new week and I've started it off right. Let's hope I finish it right. Lots of cardio and water aerobics today. Kinda sleepy now.

I'm 2 lbs. closer to my next 10 lbs. This morning was my weigh-in and to my surprise I've dropped another 2 lbs. Right now emotions are getting the best of me, but I am trying to keep things in tact. Have a great day ladies!

Hi everyone hope I can join in. I love the idea of 10 lbs 10 times! Someone mentioned in a different thread that "it's like losing a 10lb sack of potatoes"!! I'm totally up for that! Anyways I'm Debbie a SAHM of 4 and I'm 45. I'm going to start today. wish me luck!!!

10 lbs 7.5 times seems soooo much smaller than 75 lbs. I mean, I'm already almost at my first ten. Then it's only 6.5 to go!!

great idea. I'm in

Gah, the last month has been pretty busy. Did good my first week at weight watchers, lost 9.2.

Then started doing badly and kind of gave up (gained most back).

My boyfriend told me about a local challenge/weight loss and fitness competition, and I ended up signing up for that, which started April 21st.

Got back on the horse with Weight Watchers again. Last sunday weighed in at 178.4 - but my current weight on my scale says I've completed 10, but I really don't want to count my scale.

So, when I weigh in on Sunday, I'll update with my official weight and loss, and go from there.

 girls!

Today was so OP, I only got my water in. Measly 20 mins of exercise and a binge. :rollpin:

But hey, two weeks till I move into my place. You can't beat that! :cloud9:

Shari- We all have those days. Just brush yourself off and get back up and fight. Sound familiar?

I haven't exactly been on plan, I've eating things that I know are within my point total. Just haven't been diligent about keeping track of things.

Doing well Shari, how about yourself? I must say that this weekend thing is really challenging. Lately, I haven't been staying on plan, just eating. What's amazing is that I've eaten foods, OP for the most part. So that's a small victory for me, but I haven't been tracking points, and I know that it may come to bite me in the arse for WI on Wednesday. We'll see though....

Weekends are tough on everyone, I think. You really can't beat yourself up as long as you tried your best.

OMG has any of yall seen the movie The Mist? I'm SO pissed! The ending.....my god, I got so mad! Just spreading the word of outrage! I have a few choice words for the producer/director. :club: I know Stephen King wrote the novella the movie is based on but I'm leaving him of out this simply because...well he does write kickass books! :p

4 days till the move!

Good morning everyone...I just wanted to come in and get this out of the way. You may not see me around for the next few weeks, as I am dealing with a multitude of issues including leaving the man that I love dearly. I want to thank you for the continued support you all provide. I've been OP sort of, but not binging out on junk food or anything like that. Just not really eating much at all.

I'm trying to maintain. So we'll see how it goes on Wednesday. Good luck everyone.

 everyone. So sorry I've been AWOL, the last couple of days have been filled with moving, getting used to a new bus route, and worrying about bills. Needless to say, my eating has been horrendous and exercise is non-existant. :o I've been a bad girl and just when I tell myself that I will start fresh in the morning, TOM rears his ugly head! Azz. But, though my eating was still off, I got a little walking in today and drank all my water! Plus I resisted going to the store for ice cream and soda but I contribute that to my fear of the hallway outside my new apartment door.....it's creepy especially at night. :^:
