It does not look like there is going to be any one post on here either . I will post daily if i can and i will keep in touch with you !!! Thanks for all you have done to keep the challenge going but what else could you do !! I will check back tomorrow sometime , pepita69 03-11-2007, 12:08 AM Hey guys, How are you doing. I cannot believe the people all dropped from the challenge. Hope you guys are having a good weekend and stayng OP. walk away from the bad food, lol. Hey all, been a super long day. My 10 yr old and I left at 8:20 this morning to go to her school festival thing that they were involved in with tons of other schools. Then left there and shopped all day long, did not get home till 9:00 PM, so we were gone over 12 hours, my hubby had the 2 little ones all day, welcome to my world. We went to the mall, Wal-Mart, Target, etc. Bought spring and summer clothes for all 3 kids, my 10 yr old has to try on everything as she is so tiney, wears like 6X still, but even them are too big a lot, or like swim suits, mediums would be too big and smalls too small etc. So long day, lots and lots of walking. I am exhausted. Peg gma22 03-11-2007, 12:24 PM Hey everyone! I only post on one thread here anymore, Steel Magnolias, but I have been on WW since Feb 3 and have lost 12 lbs so I am thrilled and thought I would join you all if you don't mind having an old lady in your midst! :D . My husband, though only needing to lose 30 lbs instead of 200 has lost 13 lbs on it. We didn't even decide together. I just came home from signing up the first day and ask him politely to look the stuff over and see if he would be interested. He had a heart attack in 2003 and then emergency double bypass last Sept so I have been trying hard to cook lowfat meals since then. He eats very little fruits and veggies, but after a day of me being on it and he seeing that he can eat what he wants if he stays on points, he jumped in whole hog. We now plan our "eating day" the day before. He has a spreadsheet and we decide what we want for the next day's dinner meal, set it up with points than make our breakfast, lunch and snack choices around it. It works out great that way! I have learned to buy meat and portion it into freezer bags in 8 oz portions for (4 oz apiece) when I get home from the grocery store and it is truly amazing how you can eat this portion and it be filling and fine. I think you will find you spend less money too. I buy only lower fat cuts of meat, which can be expensive, but for example a lb of ground sirloin, makes two meals for us. I want to be down to 300 lbs by August 29th as we leave for Las Vegas on that day and none of my capris and dress pants fit me! I am at 350 as of Friday so that is a scant 2 lbs a week and I know I can do it! I am going to be upset in July if I have to go out and buy a summer wardrobe for Vegas. Anyway, I will try and post daily and will watch for the next month's challenge because I missed the St Paddy's one. I walk a mile everyday, but starting tomorrow am uping it by 1 tenth each week. Memorial Day our pool opens so I then spend everyday in the pool for an hour and I love that. I do water aerobics and swim laps with no stress on my knees and joints. Oh, I am 53, have two grown and married kids, one grandson, Thomas, who is 6.5 (my avatar) and a new grandson due June 5th who will be named Jack (my ticker) I am a stay at home and love it. I knit all the time, churning out all sorts of stuff and love to read. I have a Yorkie named Fortune and a tabby named Butterscotch. My husband is retired Navy and works for the City of Memphis. That's about as exciting as I get! lol Peg: Where is Hunterstown? I grew up in Northwest Indiana and my son and dil live only 4 blocks from Notre Dame. Faye Mom2QJandT 03-11-2007, 05:04 PM This is the kind of thread that I need to get in on. I've come so far, but I've had a serious lack of motivation lately and have just maintained for about 3 weeks now. I think that I know I'm close to being out of the 200's and it's a little scary. What will I blame all of my problems on if it isn't being fat? So, hello to all of you! andreaphilip3 03-11-2007, 08:54 PM hi guys!:) how goes it deb? buying kids clothes is alotta work!:) welcome mom2q... im looking fwd to getting to know you!:) theres a march challenge thread if youd like to hop on that one. is that the one you mean? or did someone do a st p day chall? heya peg! hows it goin? did i miss anyone? i hope not!! pepita69 03-11-2007, 09:29 PM Hey all, Andrea, it was me that was buying kids clothes, and it was tiring and challenging. I live in Huntertown Indiana, which is just north of Ft. Wayne. I am married and have 3 kids, 10 yr old daughter, 5 yr old son and 3 year old daughter, so very busy and I am a part-time social worker. I have only lived in Indiana for 5 years, borna nd raised in Iowa, but did live in Arizona for 3 years also. I have been on WW since Dec. 28tha nd have lost almost 24 poinds, only have 3.2 to go till original goal for ww, but now that i am so close, i actually want ot lose 5 more then that, so 8.2 not or maybe even 13.2 but that is the most. anyhow, nice talking to andrea and deb as always and welcome to the rest of you all. peg boaterswife 03-11-2007, 10:47 PM I'll jump in....I mostly post on the 100lb club threads, but started out in this forum. I still love to do the small challenges and am also posting on the St. Paddy's Challenge. I started WW August 8th, 2006. My re-birthday. The day I decided that what I want and need to be healthy and live a long life are just as important as the wants and needs of my family. DH and I have been married for almost 20 years, we'll celebrate that anniversary in the fall. DS will be 17 in about a week and a half and is a Junior in HS. DD is 14 1/2, 8th grade, and is a world champion dancer; I spend the majority of my time getting her to practices and competitions. As of yesterday I've lost 70 pounds with WW! It's almost hard to imagine that, and I'm the one who lived it! Mamawdebbie and Mom2QJandT I can see you're both knocking on the door to onederland, how exciting! Mom2QJandT, I can relate so well to your apprehension about onederland! Just remember that not only is your body getting healthier, but you're also gaining self confidence and becoming a new and better you. You're on your way! I remember making it to onderland just a little while back, and I didn't acknowledge it on my tickers or profile until I was at like 195....I was sure that if I recognized it, something would happen and the scale would show that dreaded "2". Relax and keep working the plan, you'll both be here in no time! Faye, how exciting that your DH is doing the plan with you! That has to make for an endless supply of motivation and support! 50 pounds by August 29th? Absolutely! You can do this! In fact, I'm sure that if you work the plan, and I know you know how to do that, you will surpass that goal! Look out Vegas, here you come! Peg, oh the shopping! I feel for you! My DD is 4'11-1/2", and weighs in at about 95 pounds. She is such a struggle to buy for! Her body is curved like that of any other girl of almost 15, yet she's small enough that many of the Juniors clothing is too big, even the size 0's. When we go into the girls department, the clothes are cut more boxy for the younger girls who don't have a shape yet. And shoes? Eeeeck! Most places don't have dressier shoes, etc, in a childrens size 4......or even an adult size 5. Thanks for letting me introduce myself and the fam, have a good week everyone! pepita69 03-11-2007, 11:08 PM Kelly, yes, my 10 yr old well, actually 10 1/2 is barely 50 pounds and very short, she is the tiniest in her class and other kids in her class look like they are 3 or 4 yrs older then her, she fits size wise with the 1st and 2nd graders and even has kindergardners bigger thenher. last year she wore size 5's and she was in 4th grade, so kids her age were wearing you know, more mature clothing and the things she could fit into were cutey things for like preschoolers and kindergardners, looked way too babish for her age, we are actually into 6x and a few 7 slims now, but she is in 5th grade. kids her age are shopping at some of the stores for older kids and even their extra smalls are too big for her. so it is sooo hard. she is so tiny and thin and has not curves, so things are absolutely huge on her around the waist and if we finally get them to fit around the waist, then they are too short, even though she is short, they still end up too short. so it is soooo hard. then like swim suits, smalls were too small and mediums were too big. and yes, shoes, she wears shoes that kindergarnders would wear size wise, so again, hard to find shoes that are not too cutsey and babish and she cannot find things like kids her age wear. soooo frustrating. i always tell her it is nice to be tiny and for her to be thankful she is thin and hopefully she will stay that way, but this is to an extreme of being tiny. my hubby cannot figure out why it takes us forever to shop with her and cannot figure out why i am so frustrated when we get home from shopping instead of it being a thrilling day.. ok, enough about all that. hope all have a great week. peg gma22 03-12-2007, 08:50 AM Good morning to you all! It is going to be gorgeous today, in the upper 70's here. I can't wait for Memorial Day weekend as our pool opens and I live right across the courtyard from it and even have my own key that the condo association president gave me so I can swim early in the morning before the pool opens for the day. That is also the weekend before the baby is born so it is all exciting around that time. We can't wait for the new grandbaby. Oh, I didn't say that I had been married for 34 years! Snagged the sailor right out of high school! :D He was from southeast New Mexico and as I said I am a born and bred Hoosier so it was interesting. I had never had Mexican food and Taco Bell didn't even exist in my part of the world. It was a real culture shock. My church teased him and said he talked funny (that Texas drawl) but then we all talk through our noses so..... Peg: My grandson is a little stick. He is really tall but as skinny as a rail. I made him 3 sweaters for Christmas this last year and only one fit him. His cardigan was too short, the blue pullover was not right either, but the rolled neck sweater fits and his dad told me at his scout banquet last week he wears it all the time. I guess Thomas said the girls like it! Everybody, from old ladies to cute little girls love that red hair! Kelly hasn't complained about buying him clothes too much, but she does ask that I don't buy him clothes without her along because he is so lanky. Congrats on the lbs you have lost so far! Kelly: Teenagers, groan! I wouldn't do that again for a million $$$. Doesn't matter how wonderful they are, it is a pain to raise teenagers! My son is 33 and my dd is 29 so there were no cell phones, ipods, etc etc when they were growing up and thank goodness. We couldn't have afforded them on a sailor's salary anyway. Congrats to you on your overall fabo losses too! That is just wonderful. Andrea: I didn't see the March challenge, just a St Paddy's day and I am a little late for that one. I will just jump in on the April one. I am trying to increase my walking .1 per week until Memorial Day so I should be walking at least a couple miles a day by then. About 3 years ago, I was up to around that everyday and even did a 5K walk for Breast Cancer, but I gained back 60 lbs and went back to sluggish ways of walking very little though I always kept up with the pool because I love it so much. I have a long way to go, but I am willing to wait for it to come off slowly. I just want to enjoy my older years without the encumberance of all this weight on my joints. What kinds of things do you ladies do for enjoyment? Like I said, I am a knitting fiend and I love to read. I like to cook too, but have cut back on that with being on a good program. I still cook, but not all that fatty dessert stuff etc. Well, I see by the clock it is almost 7. Going to get my shoes on and get out for my walk in just a bit. Everyone have a super Monday and make it an OP day! Faye mamawdebbie 03-12-2007, 09:42 AM GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!! WOW-Im glad there are more people doing this board because it makes it fun and interesting to hear from people all around the states !!  Since there are several new ones coming on board i will give you a run down on myself!!!  Im 46 years old and live in Kentucky( born in Columbus, Indiana but lived here most of my life ) and i have been married 29 years this coming July and i have 3 children ages-DS-28 , DD-22 , DS-14 , AND TWO GRANDKIDS AGES DGD-5 , DGS-2 1/2Love them all dearly . Work for a payroll service provider for 15 years now and enjoy about every type of craft with the exception of scrapbooking which I haven't tried yet. Currently in my free time my sister and I quilt on our days off :encore: Oh I live in Northern California, about 18 miles south of San Francisco in a small town on the coast. :swim: :beach: Last year my challenge was to lose weight and I lost about 15 lbs total. This year in addition to another 15 to lose I would like to increase my exercise :woops: :exercise: :ebike: :tread: with the purpose avoiding additional medications. My blood pressure is undercontrol but now I have to work on my sugars :chockiss: I will also do my best to check in every day!!!! :woohoo: andreaphilip3 03-12-2007, 05:03 PM hi guys! liz im happy you found us:) keep pluggin;) Mama_Angel_2006 03-12-2007, 05:12 PM Hi fellow Weight Watcherers! I am a stay at home mom to a wonderful active 14 month old little girl named Destinee and I'm also a full-time college student doing classes online. I started Weight Watchers in January 2007 but didn't start following it correctly until the middle of last month. Since Feb. 28th, though, I've lost 2 pounds so I'm down to 254 now. My mini goal is to lose 10 pounds by the end of the month and get to 200 by July 28 when I get married. Again, just wanted to stop by and say hi! EmmaGabysMum 03-12-2007, 07:20 PM Hi ladies! I'm all up for a circle of friends! My name is Emma, i'm 23 & SAHM to my beautiful 4 1/2 mo daugther, Gabrielle/Gaby. I am studying for my BA through distance learning, getting there VERY slowly - and having issues with motivation at the moment! I started WW a month ago y/day, and have so far lost 4.2kg, which I believe is around 9-10lb (2.2lb=1kg). My start weight was 107.6kg & my goal weight is 58kg (though when I reach that, I think i'll probably aim to lose maybe another 5kg). I am very short (5 foot), so becuase i'm so overweight, I believe I'm classed as morbidly obese.. not a fun title at all! I am really enjoying weight watchers though, and have stuck to the programme pretty well - I am doing a lot better than I ever imagined I could do!!!!!! I've just met a new guy, and I have a confidence that i've never really had before! It's great! Mama_Angel - I'm a SAHM & Student Mummy as well! I'm doing my BA through distance learning, and I have a gorgeous 4 1/2 mo daughter, Gabrielle (Gaby). Best of luck reaching your goal by your wedding! I am SURE you can do it! :carrot: fogwoman - hello! Good luck with your goals - I have found they are a lot easier to accomplish when you have lots of support (whether in 'real' life, or online!). My parents are both in payroll :) It's funny, after 25 years of marriage, and totally different jobs - in the past 2 weeks, they have both ended up with a very similar job! mamawdebbie - it's very inspirational to hear of ladies who have lost a big amount of weight - YOU GO GIRL!!!! gma2one - how is your walking going??? I think it's a great idea to slowly increase, because i'm sure that by the time you're walking the distance you want to be, you won't really notice the extra distance you're walking! boaterswife - 70lb! that's amazing! Gives me more hope that *I* can reach that goal as well (and beyond!) Mom2QJandT - as i'm losing weight, i'm realising that i have other areas of my life i need to work on too - I used to blame all my problems on being obese, but soon, that excuse isn't going to work! gma22 03-13-2007, 06:55 AM Good morning ladies! You will find if you check when I post, I am usually a very early riser so more than likely I will be the first post of the day! :D Emma: What a beautiful little girl you have! I know you can do this! WW is a great program and it just takes time to rid ourselves of all the old habits and nasty food choices we have made in the past and try and learn from our mistakes. MamaAngel: You will do this, I know you will! It is always great to have an important goal and your wedding is a great one because then you will work to get there. I know that is one of the reasons I work hard at it, is to get into those summer clothes for vacation. I just don't want to have to buy new ones then give them away when they become too big. I think the one thing I have worked at doing was to restructure meals we have always eaten to be more points friendly. Instead of searching for a bunch of new recipes for stuff my husband is unlikely to eat, I change up the ones he likes, like we are having meatloaf tonight, but instead of high fat ground beef, I now use ground sirloin, which only has 3% fat, egg beaters instead of eggs, cut back on things like ketchup and bread crumbs etc. I can usually cut stuff anywhere from 1/4 to 3/4 of the points buy changing up things. I have a lot of time to cook as I don't work and I have no children in the home, but once you get the rhythm of it, you can make permanent changes to your recipes, mark the points right on the recipe and the serving size and go from there. I also take the time after grocery shopping to divide my meats into 8 oz packages so we never get more than 4 oz apiece. This saves time in the long run. I take the time (and dh helps me with this) to mark boxes and cans with an ink marker the # of pts for a serving on the box or can. I then have it handy and don't always have to go back and refigure points each time I want to use it, like cereal for example. A lot of things you will find that you automatically know if you use them regularly. I have to say, it does help greatly to have Jack on board doing this too. I only make our two servings, there is not a bunch of leftovers I can fool with and sample etc. We do our next day's points after dinner the day before and we are all set. Well, I do my dinner points, Jack does his whole day since he is at work. I did find that one of the things I thought Jack would never ever ever do is drink diet soda, but he does. Not all the time, he is an iced tea man, but he will take one on Friday's though he drinks diet Mountain Dew, :barf: I now have half the back of my new cardigan knitted. I made myself a pretty peach shell and am making a cardigan to go with it for vacation this year. I am also making this funky ribbon top that is knit from this variety of ribbon colors (see pics) and only have a few rows to go, but I ran out and had to order another ball online and it hasn't come yet. I also am making a pretty blue ribbon style top for "nightlife" on my vacation to wear with some dress pants for a big night on the town while we are on vacation. It is pretty difficult to knit with because it has "holes" between the ribbon pieces, but I am determined to make a nice shell from it. That is what I am up to at the moment. Have a great Tuesday gals! Faye andreaphilip3 03-13-2007, 01:22 PM hi guys!:) welcome emma:) fogwoman 03-13-2007, 03:59 PM Good morning/afternoon ladies! I was curious as to what part of states we all lived and then came across Emma, not in the states at all! We are an international group, cool:grouphug: Faye, I love to knit too! I am currently looking for something in the way of a shell to wear over a tank top, not too casual so I can wear it to work. Can you point me in the right direction? :book2: Andrea, what's the haps girl? MamaAngel- what a great name for your daughter! Getting married, college student and a mom, busy lady. Congrats! :cheer: Mamawdebbie - Wow! I am envious of your success in our WW journey. People like you keep me going and motivated! Thanks!! :bravo: :carrot: Have a wonderful day!!!  gma22 03-13-2007, 07:38 PM Fogwoman: I sent you a pm with pattern places to look. This is the sleeveless sweater I made for myself. I adapted it from a super easy pattern if this is the kind of think you are looking for. Faye pepita69 03-13-2007, 08:20 PM Hey all. Hope you are all doing well. I am soooo very tired. I was on this med and had to take it at night as after i took it,w ithin an hour, it would knock me out, well, did nto think it was really working in the area it was supposed to so Dr switchedm y meds, so took newe one last ngiht,w ell, it does not knock me out and actually kept me up all night, i literally did not even sleep 2 hours. so ia m sooo tired today, cannot do a thing. going to bed early tonight. wanted to clean house today but did not as i was too tired. just laid around all day, could not take a nap since i have a 3 and 5 yr old. anyhow, hope you are doing great. chat with you all later. peg gma22 03-14-2007, 09:27 AM Good morning everyone. Just a quick peek in to say good morning. I was up with a tummyache at midnight and sat up and drank a bunch of water until 3:30 am so slept in until 6:30 and am a bit behind. I still have to get my legs moving out for that walk. Peg: Hope you are adjusting to that med. It is tough when you have little ones at home and you feel like you can't keep your eyes open. You can do what I used to do with my dd years ago when I worked the grave yard shift at 7-11, I would come home and put toys in my bedroom, lock us in so she was safe and crash while she played or watched tv! We had a bathroom off the bedroom so she could go and I had stuff for her to eat and drink and I set the alarm for a couple hours and laid down. That may not be an option if you have little live wires that don't play by themselves or are very inquisitive. Everyone have a scrumptious day today. I am out to hit the sidewalk! Faye andreaphilip3 03-14-2007, 12:14 PM hi guys!:) ok you may not believe this but man i think it was somethin in the air last night bc i can include my own self in the no sleep group. my own fault, had no idea what i was thinking pigging out on caffeine and sweets as late as i did bc i layed dn at 130(had watched a movie to try n make me sleepy) and dunno what time i fell asleep but im guessing bt 230-330. its scary that caffeine can override meds thats normally make you sleepy cuz i had done that by 11. peg can you take it at night instead? i knowmeds can be hard! good luck and keep us posted! im sorry youre beat but know that i am feelin ya!:( hey liz im sorry you didntr sleep either:( we are a tired bunch today huh? fogwoman 03-14-2007, 01:31 PM I totally agree with last night. I am so tired and run down today I was just telling a co-worker I wasn't going to make it all day. I don't know what's up, but I did get a full nights sleep, maybe I'm coming down with something. This is a busy week, mentally, for us. We are awaiting acceptance letters for our son into high school. First it was the whole application thing, which by the way was worse than my daughters college applications, and now after 3 months of waiting we should know by Saturday. I am sure he will be accepted at the school of his choice but there is still that anxiety. Oh to be a parent!:dizzy: Faye, thanks for the pattern. I'll take a look a little later. Since Saturday is St. Pats day, how many of us are Irish, or pretend to be Irish? Me, well I am a Russian girl who married Irish. So I have the name and since the husbands mother is Italian, I cook the corned beef and cabbage. Actually I eat more of the cabbage and carrots then the corned beef. Have a great day ladies, and get some well deserved rest. Liz gma22 03-15-2007, 08:20 AM Good morning ladies! I actually crashed at 6:30 last night. I was just wiped out. I feel much better this morning even having to do the old lady nighttime pees. Liz: Keeping my fingers :crossed: that your son gets in where he wants to go. Glad you found patterns to your liking. Both those sites have a lots of great patterns and I have used them repeatedly. Anytime you need something specific let me know and I may know where to look for free patterns rather than having to purchase them. I am not Irish at all. My dad was German/Dutch and my mom was German/Indian/Jewish. My husband has an English background. I don't like corned beef, but I love cabbage and cooked cabbage. I watched "30 Minute Meals" last night and Rachel Ray was doing Irish stuff. I am not a lamb eater either, though I have had lamb that tasted good. She was saying the Irish like Salmon a lot, which I eat occasionally, but not one of my favorites. So, all in all, I will have to go back to my brats and sauerkraut! I grew up on German food and like it, but the meats are high in fat so I don't eat those. My mom used to fix sauerkraut and the kids would eat it with sugar on it! lol I remember my grandma having big crocks of sauerkraut in the basement with towels over them curing. I like my grandma's Sauerbraten, but never had anyone elses I liked. She has been gone for almost 20 years so I never will get anymore as no one has her recipe. No walking for me today and it is pouring rain here today. I was so wiped out yesterday I ended up not going out and walking until around 1 PM, which was a mistake because it was near 80 by then and too hot for me to walk. I did about .9 of a mile though so I did get it in. I could get on the treadmill, but I hate the darn thing so I may just do some weights this morning. I have a bit of house cleaning to do in a couple hours then I can knit the rest of the day. How is everyone doing with their food, water, exercise, anyway? Jack and I are doing really well. Like I told him this morning, it takes a bit of planning to do this program, but it is well worth the effort. It has become easier though as I put the pt count on recipes I use over and over and like I said, mark boxes and such with the point count so they are quick to calculate. I have a points calculator, which I am thrilled with and makes it easy when going to the grocery. Well, Jack goes with me so that really makes it easy and a lot faster. God Bless good husbands!!! Well, I best get the morning going and get things done! Have a good day all! Faye Mom2QJandT 03-15-2007, 08:56 AM Peg - I am a social worker (by trade) in Indiana with three kids too! I thought it was funny reading your intro and realizing that we had so much in common. Debbie - we're both so close to ONEderland...we'll get there! Andrea - thank you for the warm welcome! I didn't introduce myself very well in my first post so... I am Carrie. Divorced mom to three great kids. Quentin is 8, Julia is 6, and Travis is 4. I have a wonderful boyfriend named John who is a health nut. I'm trying to get that way, but I still have some very unhealthy moments. I started Weight Watchers in August and I have lost 48 pounds so far. I lost 30 in the months before that by just watching my diet for a total of 78 pounds so far (size 22 to size 14 so far)! I am a social worker by trade, but I am currently the Program Director for an Alzheimer's Unit. I live just outside of Indianapolis, and we just moved here two years ago, so I don't have a lot of real life friends here yet. I have been struggling so much lately to stay on plan and was really determined this week...and then work blew up, I got stressed, and I ate! It wasn't pretty, but I'm determined that today will be better and I will move forward with thoughts of new summer clothes and how I would like to buy 10s for summer! Hope everyone is doing well! Keep up the great work! Carrie mamawdebbie 03-15-2007, 03:14 PM :wave:Hey Andrea and everyone else  Had my weigh in today and i lost .2 which im glad about because a loss is a loss no matter how small or big and i do not want a gain !! LOL We had some really pretty:sunny: weather:sunny: here in KENTUCKY for a few days but it is cold and rainy today:( :( gma22 03-15-2007, 04:20 PM MamaDebbie: Wonderful congrats on the loss!:carrot:  :hat: Oh, boy, I wanted to take a picture of something so while I was upstairs cleaning I grabbed the digital camera out of dh's office and put it in my clothes basket to bring downstairs. Dang if I didn't forget it was in there, dumped it all into the washer and washed our expensive camera through a whole wash cycle! I was freaking out. My dd called for something and told me to take out the battery and the memory stick and then use a cool setting on the blow dryer and use it on the inside of the camera for no more than 10 minutes at a time and to let it dry out for at least two days before I tried to turn it on. I was so stressed about it, I ended up calling my husband to confess. God bless that man. He said, ""Honey, it is just a possession and they aren't important. Besides, I wanted to buy a new one anyway!" Anyway, he wasn't upset at all and says we will give it a couple days of drying out and then see. It is just bad timing because of the shower and the baby's birth and such spending money on a new camera. I sure hope the drying out and buying a new battery will help! Hope everyone is having a good day today! Faye Mamabear1 03-15-2007, 04:46 PM Hi all! Miss that flex/core challange too - Can't believe everyone was dropping out. Ok so since everyone is kinda introducing themselves I"ll do it too.... I am a stay at home Mom to a pre-schooler. I've lost close to 80 lbs since she's been born and have at least 20 more to go until I am at my goal weight. I really loved that flex/core challenge it really helped keep me honest having to log in my weight loss every week. I hope for this thread to inspire me the way the challenge did. Tomorrow is my meeting day - I know this week was a bust - I just had a hard time. I was doing Core for a while and it was working well but I think I need to switch back to flex to get me on track again. Great to meet you all and it's nice to have a new thread to call "home" ha ha PS: Thanks Andrea for all your hard work and keeping track of the challange. Just out of curiousity which team over all did the best? fogwoman 03-15-2007, 05:10 PM Sun is shining here so there is no excuse to get out there and walk. Well except for the fact I am dead tired. The good news is that tommorrow is a day off for me and my son so we don't have to wake up at 6:24, maybe sleep is what I need! Great story about the camera? Better story with your hubby's response. Don't you love those guys? I am so impressed and inspired by all of you and your weight loss in such a short time. :bravo: I am hoping you rub off on me. ;) :dust: Have a great afternoon! liz andreaphilip3 03-15-2007, 05:18 PM hi guys! i dont think i intro'd me so....im 35, live in ny w my mom and have a 8 y/o cat:) im an aunt to 8 beauties 3-25 planning is a definite must i think esp. on core but is well worth it! i need to do some planning of my own bc im planning on taking the plunge monday morning. fogwoman 03-15-2007, 06:30 PM Hey Andrea, what's going on with "the plunge". :?: andreaphilip3 03-15-2007, 08:12 PM hiya liz:) i just meant "on" afterr being way off for awile.. gma22 03-16-2007, 05:03 AM Good morning gals! Up early again. I have kind of an allergy headache this morning and though I would like to have stayed in bed, it wasn't going away and I don't like to take allergy medicine unless it is bad. If it isn't better in about half an hour I will take something. I noticed over the last couple days more problems with my eyes itching and my nose running all the time so I can tell spring is around the corner. When my dd called me yesterday she said she had taken Thomas to the dentist to get his teeth cleaned. She said he told the dentist he never brushes his teeth or flosses and she said she was horrified. She told the doctor he does it everyday because she makes him. She said she knew the dentist didn't believe her so she said she got all defensive like an idiot and said that the dental hygenist had commented on what a nice job he did brushing his teeth and flossing to ask her. :D The dentist ask Thomas how old he was and he said 6 8/4's! She said that he said it so seriously like he was convinced that was how old he was. The dentist said, "So, you are 8 years old?" Everyone laughed. Kelly said that this all comes from his allergist who always says to him when he goes in for his appts, "So Thomas, you are 6 and 4/12 or 6 and 5/12 or whatever and he just picked up on it. Today is weigh in for me. I hope I see some lbs down again. I sure would like to get to my 300 lb goal by August. I need those dang clothes to fit! lol Liz: You are going to do just great! I just know it! Mamabear: Terrific job getting those lbs off after the baby. Better now than like I, 30 years later struggling with obesity in my 50's and 100 lbs of it was not getting baby fat back off. Everyone have a good day! Faye Mamabear1 03-16-2007, 09:20 AM Thanks gma2one. It's been a very long road but I'm learning if this is going to be a lifetime thing I have to be forgiving of myself if I fall of program. Then just get back on the horse. Just keep getting inspired! Especially by wonderful people like you all. andreaphilip3 03-16-2007, 11:54 AM tgif guys! that is so funny about the dentist! kids are like that sometimes...gotta love it:) and yes we need to forgive ourselves.....something i currently stink at! fogwoman 03-16-2007, 12:57 PM On my way out the door, will check back later! Have a great day! liz trt1366 03-16-2007, 01:05 PM Hi Everyone! I Am 40 Yrs Old Have A Duaghter Freshman Year Of College And Happily Married. Mamabear1 03-16-2007, 09:52 PM I weighed myself at home...and gained this week AAARRGGHHH! So frustrating some times. Unfortunately I know my scale is on the money with the one at the meeting. They cancelled my meeting today because of all the snow. This crazy weather we're having. OK, Back on the ball tomorrow! Mamabear1 03-16-2007, 09:55 PM oh by the way Andrea I really agree with you on the planning being key espeically when you're doing core. It can be hard to plan especially when you go to someone's house for coffee or something and they have alot of non core foods that you'll end up using the whole 35 pts for LOL (been there....ate that! ha ha) andreaphilip3 03-16-2007, 11:06 PM hety moma! you havin poopy weather too? we are! hang in there the wt will drop! yeah unfortunately processed=convience fogwoman 03-17-2007, 12:03 PM Good Morning, and Happy St. Pats day for those of you who partake in the festivities! :cupgold:  I was up a pound yesterday but no big deal since I figure Gma2one took care of both of us with the 5.5 loss  My son got into the high school of his choice so all that waiting and tension is gone. Now if I can only get the kid to cut his hair. Remember Ringo, Paul, George and John? Well mine is reliving their style. :dizzy: Big plan today is to go visit our daughter at UCDavis and take the girl to lunch. School is only 2 hours from home so she is far enough to have independance but close enough to visit. TRT, is your daughter far from home? I hope you all have a good day and if you are anything like me, the weekends are more busy than the weekdays. :carrot: :carrot: Andrea, hows the water? liz andreaphilip3 03-17-2007, 12:36 PM hi guys! happpy st patys day!:) hey liz congrats on gettin your son to hios hs! have fun visiting DD..im sure she misses you too:) and yes i hate weekends this is my last one off p!!! gma22 03-17-2007, 05:10 PM Afternoon ladies! I did my mile walk bundled up this morning. It was in the upper 30's at 7 AM. It is in the 50's right now, but my husband has the heat cranked up and is bundled up in a sweatshirt. It is supposed to be cool until Monday then back into the high 60's and 70's thank goodness. Now if Northern Indiana would warm up and stay that way so I don't freeze my whohaahs off when we go up there in two weeks. I just talked to my sister who lives up there and she said it was in the 60's today so hope it stays that way. Liz: With Jack being military, When our son Jay was in high school, he was required to keep his hair shorter (he is 33 now) After he graduated he let it grow to the middle of the back. He did the whole hippy thing, followed around the Grateful Dead etc etc. He cut it for his sister's wedding back in '97 to a little longer than chin length, and now he is now a top sales engineer for a company out of Chicago and this is what he looks like today (see pic) so hang in there they usually grow out of it! :D MamaB: hang in there, it will come off. I had a week about 3 weeks ago when I had stayed OP, walked every day and gained almost 4 lbs! I sat and cried I was so discouraged. It happens and you have to go with the flow! Sending you the good luck :wizard:! Well, back to knitting. I finished the back of the cardigan and am a good ways done on the left front. Jack is sleeping/watching NCAA tournament (GO INDIANA GO MEMPHIS U ) so unless I want to go upstairs and watch tv, basketball it is for today. Have a good one and not too much green beer! Faye andreaphilip3 03-18-2007, 03:33 PM hi guys! faye good job on the walk! fogwoman 03-22-2007, 12:53 AM hey ladies, where are you? I have been out of the office for a few days so haven't been on the computer. I have been going to clients offices and making sure they "love" the service we offer. So far so good. :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: Hope you all are okay and I'll check back later.! andreaphilip3 03-22-2007, 11:53 AM hi liz! sopread that "love"! :D hope4me 03-23-2007, 04:44 PM Hi everybody. I'm looking for daily support and wondering if this is the place. I've been on and off WW for about 6 years. My first time I hit goal and became lifetime losing~55lbs. Since them I've gained back 87 and am now down 15 again. Not trying to scare any one, but I haven't been able to get a grip and keep it long enough to hit goal again. ( I lost 20 once and 32 one other time). What is wrong with me I don't know, but if you're on this site I'm sure lots of you have done this as well. A little about me: I'm 35, engaged (hoping to lose weight and set a date), and I recently quit my job in financial services and am looking for a similar job without such a strong 'sales' emphasis. I hope to give and receive some support here.:^: gma22 03-23-2007, 05:31 PM Hi "Hope" it is nice to meet you. Sometimes it takes something to shake us up a bit and that in my opinion is desire. You have to ge to a point where your desire to lose weight is stronger than your desire to continue eating as you have. I had my WW for this week today and am down another 3.5 lbs so that is 21.5 for me in 8 weeks. I am more than thrilled! Everyone keep up the pace and work hard this next week! Faye bgbrwnys101 03-25-2007, 02:30 PM Hey everyone!!!! I am on ww and doing it myself, I chat with Andrea on another board and had to say hi!!! Any suggestions for afternoon/evening munchers???? I am fine until about 3 or 4, then its crave city Tara andreaphilip3 03-25-2007, 02:52 PM hi guys! i apologize for being mia! welcome hope and tara!!:) whats up tara? i saw that recipe.... A box of spice cake w/ can of pumpkin, lots of extra cinnamon, some extra nutmeg and some raisins!!!!!!! YUM!!! The baby is loving them also. I made them into cookies and they are soft like cake and flavorful and very low in fat!!! id suggest veggies w ff sour cream and soup mix or ff plain yogurt or popcorn. i heard that a lil bit of evoo over popcorn is greatr too. Debbie 03-25-2007, 07:40 PM Good evening everyone, I've been following WW for about 20 months. I did it on my own at home, then on-line for a few months. I finally started going to meeting at the end of last summer. I'm still trying to get my offical 10%. As you see by my tracker I've had some great results but thats a total since 1/04. I had to start over when I joined the meetings. But the cool thing is when I get my 10% I will also be at my unoffical 100 lbs lost. I'm just looking for extra support and ideas. I'm struggling to get under 200. and can use all the help I can get. I'm a 52 year old mom to 2 and grandma to 1. andreaphilip3 03-25-2007, 08:53 PM welcome debbie!:) and congrats on losin all that weight! ive been on and off ww so many times. tomm. is like my 100th start. im hoping to stick to it this time bc i now have wt. related pain issues. hope4me 03-25-2007, 09:54 PM Hi Debbie. Wow what a great weight loss!:) You should really be proud of that. I know it can be slow, but the time would have passed if you were off program as well and just think of where you would have been if you hadn't kept up the fight. There is a thread on here for people who have 100lbs or more to lose who talk about their struggle to get to "Onederland", or under the 200 lb mark. I think that would be helpful as well. Andrea: As I said I've been on and off WW several times as well. I actually reached Lifetime the first time. I'm like you now where I really need this to work b/c the weight is causing some problems. Good Luck. andreaphilip3 03-25-2007, 10:36 PM how bad am i..... hope i totally for got to welcome you as well:) please forgive me....all are equally welcome here:) thanks for the support too...i need it totally. im def ready though. i dont wanna be in pain anymore and i wanna be again. im a diff person when im fat. bgbrwnys101 03-26-2007, 05:38 AM Hope, my b-day is the day before yours, so you r idea of a b-day goal was great. I want to be down to 205 for my b-day. that would be a loss of 8.5. Also somebody mentioned a onederland board, that is my big goal, maybe I will check it out. A, whats evoo???? Tara andreaphilip3 03-26-2007, 01:35 PM hi guys! ok im on datyu 1 again!:) hope how ya doin? tara its olive oil:) fogwoman 03-26-2007, 03:03 PM  Back in the office this week so I should be able to post a bit more. I can say that I officially fell off the wagon this weekend, got run over by the wagon and then the darn thing backed up and got me again. Thank goodness it's Monday!!!:joker: I have been really cranky lately and am not sure what's the problem. Could be TOM or not, since I haven't had that visit sinc Dec. Or it could be that I am having trouble sleeping through the night. :blah: :blah: Faye, I have about 1/2 of the front side of the top I am crocheting done. Will keep you posted. Have a great Monday! andreaphilip3 03-26-2007, 03:15 PM hi liz! welcome back! today is a new day....go for it! im sorry youre feelin cranky...me too!! have you seen your gyn about no cycle? hope4me 03-26-2007, 03:47 PM fog: That wagon got me 2 and more than once. I'm way ahead of it today though. Feeling cranky and depressed. For me it is definitely PMS. Dreading tomorrow b/c I have my weigh-in on Tuesdays. I know I'm up due to overeating all week, plus I'll be retaining plenty of H20. I don't care though. I will go and take my punishment and just enjoy the meeting. Debbie: What day do you weigh-in? Andrea: Hope you are doing well today. I'm ready for a new week, one unlike last week. I too am a different person when I'm fat. Unfortunately, I'm this person more than the other one. At this point my name could be Ms. Avoidance. I avoid everything possible and that's not really me. It can sure suck the pleasure out of life. (At least I hear that life can be pleasurable. I forget.) I have an overweight friend who says that she never has let her weight stop her from doing anything. On the contrary, I rarely do anything due to my weight. I'm a master at excuses. Trying to work on that and making some progress. Here's to a great week for both of us and to becoming more of our real selves! Bgbrwnys: Great! Your going for 8.5 and I'm going for 8. I'm going to give it all I've got. Nothing better than weight loss as a bday gift to yourself.:hat: gma22 03-26-2007, 04:46 PM Good afternoon everyone! It is going to be a tough end of week and beginning of next as we are going to be out of town at my son and dil's baby shower. That means, food and CAKE! Her mother makes cake to die for unfortunately! Hope they have a fruit bowl! lol We also have a lot of eating out and I have to try and control that as well, make good choices instead of bad and not overeat. I got into one of my pairs of capris for summer and that jazzed me a lot. I wore it with the new ribbon top I knitted and got a lot of compliments on it. I also got sunburned when I wore it to a soccer game on Saturday. I really got bbq'ed and partly was my dh's fault, but enough said about that! Liz: I have the back, left front and half of the right front finished on my cardigan. I have also started a blue and gold "strip and squares" blanket for my grandson for his birthday. It is in Cub scout colors and is for his camping trips. I am also going to make a cover for his canteen and an ear flap hat. Hope everyone is having a good day! Faye andreaphilip3 03-26-2007, 05:00 PM faye: thatys awesome! wtg!!! i thought id offer a tip or 2 for your out of town survival... drink water and move around whenever the oppty arises. as for meals make eating half of whatever a priority. as for cake, try taking 3-4 bites of a piece and then toss it. pettiemse 03-26-2007, 05:13 PM hi how is everyone im new i need help i need to lose 50 pounds i cant get off sweets i need some new friends so please reply back to me thanks pettiemse fogwoman 03-26-2007, 06:43 PM welcome2: :welcome2: :welcome3: Pettiemse - glad you found us!!!:welcome2: :welcome2: :welcome3: Tell us about yourself. Debbie 03-31-2007, 06:42 PM Hey everyone, Thanks for the encouragement. I do real well for a while then I just fall off the wagon for a few days, but I WILL NEVER GIVE UP. I don't intend to spend my golden years in poor health because of obesity. I'm blessed. My highest weight was 306 and I never had any problem with my heart or blood pressure. I just need to stay focused and loose it before the problems start. Having a great day. Dh and I spent the morning running errands (shopping) It was nice. He works such long hours that we don't get to spend much time together. I've done better today on food, but I didn't make it to workout yesterday or today. Yesterday we got 6.5 inches of rain. I just drove right past the gym. instead of getting out in the downpour. Everyone have a great w-end...Later Mamabear1 04-07-2007, 12:16 AM WOO HOO! I have only 3 lbs to go until I hit goal again. It's been a long long journy but boy it feels good to finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. The best advice I got through my journy was "No Matter What - Stay in the Game!" vBulletin® v3.6.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
