Welcome Redandround!!
I hope you found us on page #86.
I am not a popcorn eater of any kind. I can't get into popcorn. The butter makes me have an upset stomach so I stay away.
What movie did you see?

Thanks Es. We had a lot of trick or treaters. Bruce and I put out the twizzlers on the porch so he could walk around awhile with us and then he went back home and passed out the "Good stuff".
Reeses, Hersheys, kit kats etc... The stuff my mom sent that I still did not touch. YAY!!!!
I had 3 planned pieces of candy. I waited til' the kids went to bed and then I ate and savored it. Still stayed at minimum on my points.
I have had my fix. I can wait another couple months now.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween~

'morning everyone!

Well, we've got another successful Halloween under our belts. My son stages a frightful scene every year on the front lawn. This year, due to the recent tragedy, we were debating whether we should continue the tradition, and decided to go ahead....can't let those b****rds get us down!

My great-nieces, who are 12 and 14, helped him, it was cool....people came by and videotaped it. They say each year it gets better. We had quite a few trick-or-treaters, but still had some candy left. I've got it in ziploc bags for the guys to take to work. There is absolutlely no way I can keep it in the house. It calls me....no matter where I am, I can hear it.

Due to technical difficulties, the boys ended up being Dracula and the Mummy (rather than Batman and Superman)...they looked great. My niece was here with her 4 girls. I love having family over.

It's November 1st! How can that be? lol Joe is taking next week off, I'm so looking forward to spending time together. One day we're going to Gurnee Mills, a huge outlet mall, to begin Christmas shopping.

have a great day!

Mornin' Girls:

Welcome redaround! Mind if I call you Red?
Hope you enjoy being here - we are a group of wonderful people if I do say so myself:smug: Seriously, (I'm a joker, can you tell?)these women are lots of fun and give lots of support and encouragement, you won't regret joining us!

Terri - I must say, that was the sexiest witch I've ever seen  I wouldn't mind a costume like that but......oh wait.......I guess I'd have to have a figure like that to pull it off - well, some day;)

Jen - That sounds great the way your son decorates, must be lots of fun. Your grandsons must have looked adorable. Have fun with Joe next week:love:

Well, sad to say, but my doorbell rang 1 time only. I guess New York parents are just a little more wary right now. I hope that will change next year. Anyway, I decided to give out quarters instead of candy this year, but I had lots left.

Hey Es - Those yankees kicked butt last night, huh? That Derek, he's such a cutie! David's twin:lol:

Hi Janie, Joyce and Myra - have a great day!

Hugs,
Dianne

A couple of things I neglected to mention.....

Terri, great planning on working those candy points in. That's the intelligent way to do it, and realistic, cause you don't deny yourself. Very

Redaround...welcome  this is a great place :D

When I went to bed last night, the Yankees were losing....what an exciting 10th inning!

Thanks! It is totally unrealistic, for me, to say "No candy". I would want it more.

We had a ton of Trick or Treaters. I'll bet it was different in New York. I'd be more weary being close to where it all happened.
I want some normalcy back for everyone.

Jen,
Wish I could have seen that. Sounds so
I'm glad you had family over. Have a great time with Joe next week.
That 10th inning was sooo exciting. To see the reactions from the players in the dugout you would have thought they won the series. It was great! The pitcher, Kim, looked disgusted.

Dianne,
That is our goal. To look like that witch.
We can all dress like her next year. We can all meet and get a picture.

Now is the count down to our next challenge. Thanksgiving!

Terri

I'm just glad that Halloween is over and my DS and DH hid the leftover candy and have promised not to eat it in front of me. Now onward to Thanksgiving, which actually is a harder holiday for me. All that good food. So hard to control how much of it I eat.

Hi Fellow Yankee Fans,
Last night's game was amazing. I feel sort of bad for Tino. Everyone keeps talking about Derek's HR but if it weren't for Tino's 2 run homer with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th, Derek would never have had the chance to hit his HR in the 10th.

Congratulations to Terri for eating her candy and staying OP too!!

Welcome Red... We are a little nutty :dizzy: but there is great support here!

Jen, Have great fun with Joe next week.

Welcome redandround:D We have lots of good times here. There have been bad times but we're always here for eachother. WE have bonded in a very special way. Glad you joined us!

Pete's been staying up for the games. I don't know how he does it having to get up at 2:30 am. He's a true fan:) I'm asleep by 9:00.

We had so many kids this year. More than last year. I was really surprised. Most of my co-workers didn't have any so the lunchroom was full of candy. I had 2 small hersheys, dark choc., my favorite. I'm off tomorrow. Hopefully by Monday it'll be gone!

Terri, I can't believe Thanksgiving is already here. Time is flying!!! Any plans?

Dianne, quarters is a great idea. Maybe I'll do that next year. You're in Queens or Nassau County?

Jen, good for you for keeping the tradition. Sounds like you have the Haunted House:lol: I bet the kids love it.

Yo Zoe, said you'd be back! You are one busy lady.I'm happy for you that you'll be going on vacation soon. Time for you to try & relax;)

JanieD, I'll be sleeping while you, Pete, Dianne, Jen & Terri will be watching the game. I'm too tired:yawn: Finished doing Taebo a little while ago.

Hi Myra:)

Have a good night everybody:wave:

Thanks JanieD. Gotta have a little candy. :dizzy:
That was a GOOD game last night. I am going back up to catch the end of this one.

Es,
We have no family around and last year we went to a restaurant and I made pies for at home. This year I will probably cook.
If Brandon wins his game in N.C. on the 17th we will be in Virginia
for Thanksgiving weekend. What are you doing?

Hi everyone. Friday is here!!!!!!!!

Jen,
Are you still watching Survivor? Silas and Lindsey have to go.
DO NOT LIKE THEM!!!!!!! I can't wait til' they merge.

Hi guys

Well, its the top of the 8th and its 2 DB's - 0 yankees:( But, hey, they did it last night, maybe they can pull it off again!

Janie, you're right, if it wasn't for Tino Martinez last night, they would have been goners -- that was amazing, I really thought it was over when they had 2 outs and 2 strikes when Martinez came up. Great game:D

Es - Now I know we are twins -- DARK CHOCOLATE is MY favorite:lol: I especially love those mini mounds -- I put them in my freezer and they are really chewy and only 2 pts. So, I usually have that when I want something sweet. I live in Howard Beach, Queens Es. My stop on the train is JFK Airport. I don't ever have to drive to the airport when I go away -- just have to go into the subway - walk to the end, go outside and take the shuttle bus right to the airport, cool, huh?

Hi Jen, Terri, Zoe/Patti, Joyce, Mrya and Red (holy moly - we have grown). Hope you all have a good Friday!

I'll talk to you's tomorrow.

Okey dokey Dianne, this is starting to feel weird:lol: I always freeze my pattie mints. Every chance I get I put any chocolate I'm going to have in the refrigerator. I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone!LOL Wow, walking distance to JFK, that is cool.

Terri, every year my sister(wild one) wants everybody to go to her house. God forbid if we say we have other plans:mad: She is very unorganized, always has been so I cook at home for the 3 of us & sometimes my oldest sister comes by. We eat early then in the evening we stop by for coffee & dessert. It must be nice to go to a restaurant. Do you have to make reservations?

TGIF:D

Have a great day!

WOW They did it again, I'll bet all you Yankee fans are doing the happy dance this morning!! That is so cool, congrats!

Terri, yep, Thursday night is Survivor night here...and I totally agree with you.....Silas and Lindsey should be goners! I really like the goat farmer (don't remember his name).

Es, enjoy your day off. :)

 HI to everyone, Dianne, Myra, Joyce, Janie, Zoe, Red!!

I'm going shoe-shopping today....pulled the winter clothes out of the attic, and realized that it all consists of sweats. I'm usually in gym shoes and need to update!

Happy good morning after the ABSOLUTELY AMAZING NY YANKEES DID IT AGAIN!!!!!!!!! OMG, I was just writing to you guys last night when they were losing 2 to 0 in the 8th and hoping they could pull off another Wednesday night - and they did!
So Jen, yes we are absolutely doing the happy dance this morning. I am doing it slowly, though since I was up til almost 1:00 a.m. watching the game:lol: But it was definitely worth it!

Es - I'm going to my sister's house for Thanksgiving also. We are 4 sisters on my father's side (and 4 on my mother's side) so we all cook something and nobody gets stuck with the hassel. We have a good time. And I think, this Thanksgiving, especially, we need to be with family and give thanks that we are all okay.

Jen - GO BUY SOME CLOTHES! What happens if Joe decides to take you somewhere fabulous - can't go in sweats! Enjoy your shopping spree!

Hi Myra, Zoe, Janie, Joyce (where's Joyce anyway) and Red. Have a great day everyone!

The YANKS did it again. I wish they could win the series at home. That place would go nuts!!!! That was a cool 12th inning.

Jen,
Clarence grew on me too. Didn't like him after he ate the beans but he has redeemed himself. I love the goat farmer. His name is Tom.
I hate the Samburu tribe but I like Boran. But that Kim thought she looked hot in a thong. Honey, don't think so. She is 56 and has more cellulite then me. That is a lot.
Sweats are so comfy though!!!!

We went to O'Charlies last year and then to a movie. We didn't have to make a reservation. I was surprised how many families went. They had a traditional dinner with all the fixings. After the movie we went home and ate pie. This year I will fill the house up with dinner smells. I can't believe how much I am looking forward to it. We go to a movie every year on Thanksgiving night. We have been doing it since the first 101 Dalmations came out. Then we come home to watch the end of football.
I think it is nice to go to someones house for dessert and coffee.

Talk to y'all later,
Terri

GO YANKEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Deja Vu all over again!!! What a game! This is definately a world series people will be talking about for a long time. The Anouncer said that that hadn't been done since 1929 and the Yankees did it 2 nights in a row! Yes we are definately doing the happy dance, Jen.

I must admit if the D-backs have to win another game I hope it is Sat. Randy Johnson is from Livermore so I would like him to do well, even if it is against the Yankees.

Myra- Staying up to see the game is a lot easier on the West coast. The problem is getting home from work and the gym before the game starts. The past couple of nights didn't matter though because all the action was after the 9th inning second out.

Terri, You said that you enjoyed going out to dinner on Thanksgiving. I have done it a couple of times and found that the resteraunt's don't usually have their best chef on duty, the menu is limited, and the dinner was somewhat dissatisfying. I guess either you were lucky or I wasn't. Every year since we've lived in CA, Steve's sister and his best friend both invite us to Thanksgiving Dinner. We always seem that we have to insult one of them. So this year we will go to Wayne's for hors d' vors and cocktails, and Janet's for dinner. I hope that will keep everyone happy.

HI to Zoe/Patti, Joyce, Dianne, Essie, Red...!

I hope you all have a great weekend. Think of me beacuse I will be going into work at least one of the Days,

JanieD,
We were very lucky. It was excellent. They were having a party in the bar area and anyone could go over there. The workers seemed to be having a good time. O'Charley's is in a family oriented neighborhood and I was soooo surprised how many families were there. There were families with the grandparents etc... I heard they had a reputation for being good on Thanksgiving and Easter. It is Bradley's favorite sit down restaurant because of the hot yeast rolls with honey butter.
We don't have anyone to share Thanksgiving with so sometimes it is easier to go out. We do it every other year. Since the kids don't have any grandparents, aunts etc... I like to smell the house up with Turkey so they will grow up with tradition at least every other year.

HI, HI, HI to you too Dianne!

Hi guy's......here I am, just getting in. I was at work until nearly 6pm, then we came home, fed the dog, scanned the mail and went out for dinner. So now I have some news.....not good news....we are not leaving for that weeks vacation.....that road trip to OK, AR, LA. My 'partner' at work has done it to me once again, not in all week and now, I am once again a "one man show". My boss is quite upset FOR me and feels really bad but just the same, I'm irritated. What we will do however, is go away for the weekend. We'll leave tomorrow morning and come back Sunday afternoon. At least it's something, right? I am expecting a HUGE pay increase in the next month so maybe that will soothe my irritations. Ha!!

Halloween was so busy here. The first few years we were in this house, it was ZILCH but in the last few years, people have started coming in car loads because they know that it's a safe place. So yes, we were sure busy....until I blew out the candles in the pumpkins and turned out the lights. :)

Sorry I am not taKing the time to address everyone personally and I know I haven't done so in a few posts but I need to get some things done here. I'll try to come online once more before my "vacation" weekend starts......but I'll be here Sunday evening for sure.

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and I think we're having company this year....for a change. Since we live here and all our family is so far away, the holidays are not like they used to be. But this year, my daughter Jenna is coming, my sister Kim will be here with her boyfriend and I think my dad and step mom are going to come.....them with me, Greg, Chris and Chris' Molly....it will be a full house (or seem like it compared to the last few years) for a change. :D:D:D

Hope you all are well...........

Hi Girls:wave:

Zoe, try & hang in there. I know it's easier said than done but by getting angry we don't accomplish anything. All we do is think about it & become bitter & we all know that's not good. At least your boss realizes what an asset you are to the company & is going to compensate you for it. You've been working so hard, I really feel for you:( Have a great weekend My Friend;)

Be back later:D

Es

That is awful Patti. Essie is right about being angry but i know it hard not to be. Your boss is a smart person to know what an asset you are. Enjoy your weekend. You deserve more.
Sounds like you will have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Well, it was weigh-in again.

I stayed the same- Bloated big time today.

Brandon gained 1 pound - ( Can anyone say -too much candy)
He had a good time and he said he
is ready to donate the rest. He said "I
will lose 2 next week." I gave him
a high 5 and he was fine.

Brittany lost 2 pounds - She ate minimal candy. She
surprised herself. She is doing
the Happy Dance.

Bruce lost 1 pound - Happy Camper

Have a great Saturday everybody.

WAY TO GO BRITTANY!!!!!!!!! YOU GO GIRL:)
High five from cyberspace:D

Terri, you hardly ever gain so you know that's water retention. I bet Brandon will see a loss next week. WTG Bruce!!!
I think it is so cool that you're doing this as a family.

Every year I get a free turkey from Pathmark because I spent over 250 in so many weeks. Today I got my receipt to go pick it up. I'll pick it up next week. It takes up too much room in my freezer. I still can't believe Thanksgiving is just a couple of weeks away.

Zoe, it's so nice that you'll be spending time with your family on Thanksgiving. I always spend it with my 2 sisters but this year my oldest sister is going upstate to spend it with her husband's family. I have alot of fun with my niece that's 21 yrs. old & her 2 brothers 31 & 24 & my David of course. They make me feel like a kid again. We laugh so much:lol:

Dianne/Sis,, you have a big family! I think it's a great idea when everyone cooks a dish. It makes it so much easier than one doing it all.

Jen, how did the shopping go? Did you find good sales?

Well, let me go browse around. Pete went shopping for sweats & weights. I really didn't feel like going. He takes too long. I wanted to stay home & chill & that's exactly what I'm doing, chillin.

Hi Myra & Red. Calling Joyce, calling Joyce!! Where are you?

Have a great day!

Hi everyone,

Zoe, I hope that you're having a great time this weekend....getting away for two days is better than not at all. Don't let it get you down, there will be other vacations. And, if you're expecting a substantial raise, that's something to be happy about. Sounds like you're in for a good Thanksgiving, with a houseful of family. :D

Terri, high five to your daughter! What a great job you're all doing. Going out to Thanksgiving dinner sounds like it'd be nice...no work! We do, however, use leftovers for quite a few meals afterward, so I'd miss that.

Es, a free turkey is cool. I have such a taste for turkey, Thanksgiving can't get here soon enough for me! I found a great sweater, and a coat, but no shoes yet; also some stuff for Joe....both of us had given away to amvets lots of our winter stuff cause we had lost weight in the past two years. I've got some good outfits left, and sweats. Now I need more casual stuff.

I know the Yankees will win it all tonight. We'll be out, so will miss the game.....have fun!!!

Britts says Thank you Essie and Jen. She loved it.
If Brandon wins in North Carolina (WE are going on the 16th) that is when we will decide if we are going to cook or go to dinner.

Glad you found a few things Jen. I don't blame you for not going shopping for the those things. I hate when Bruce turns into Lowes or Home Depot.

That is so cool that you get a free turkey Es. I cannot believe it is so close!!!!!

We are getting ready to watch SHREK! Bruce bought the DVD.

Hi Buds:wave:

Well, Sunday is here :( Back to work tomorrow:rolleyes: Next week will be a short week cause we're off Monday, Veterans Day. I'm looking forward to that.

Terri, I forgot about Brandon's team. Bare with me, I've been forgetful lately. I'm only 47 imagine what I'll be like 10 yrs. from now  SCARY!! If they win that will be really cool going to North Carolina. Tell him he's has a fan here in Long Island whose cheering him on ;)

Jen, glad to here you found something. Sometimes I go out to buy clothes & come back with nothing and that's after trying on 50 outfits!

I weighed myself yesterday & I'm still at 175!!! I really have to start journaling again. Sometimes I feel like going back to the meetings but the only leaders I like work Sundays only, 2 different centers. Sunday we go to church. I really don't care for the others.

I'll back back later on.

Enjoy this beautiful fall day.

At least it isn't a gain. Just think if it were higher than 175. It could be you know. Keeping it down is half of the battle. You will get it off. Journaling is VERY IMPORTANT. I am obssesed with it.

We are going to North Carolina on Nov. 17. We are staying Friday night and Saturday night.
I guess the kids will have to miss school on that Friday. I don't know how I'll break it to them. :s:
