Hi, I'm new here. Is it possible to incorporate Sugar Busters into the Weight Watchers points plan? I have recently been diagnosed as Insulin Resistant and am not real sure what to eat anymore. All of my so called healthy foods I'm used to are so high in carbs. I've been able to eliminate the white stuff (bread, rice, pasta) that my doctor told me to do. He just didn't tell me much of anything else to avoid.

Hi 4Dale- I started off on WWatchers and did that for a year before finding Sugarbusters. Then i did incorporate the two. I just counted my points the WW way but with Legal Sugarbuster foods. Whole Wheat stone type.-read your labels no more than 3g of sugar. I did limit myself to 3 bread points a day in the begining (which is a serving of whole wheat pasta ouch!) now i have about one bread point a day because i don't crave it. Thats just me! I had about 3 fruits a day-leagal ones. I guess i could say most points are on protien -nuts cheese meats and so on. This is doable with Weight Watchers. I was half way to my goal when i started and lost about a pound a week-I was not looking for a magic cure i just wanted to find something to stop my sugar cravings and Sugar busters did it! 4DALE, WELCOME TO THE SB BOARDS!
What RHOO said was good, she can tell you from experience. I personally haven't combined the two, but quite a few gals on the board have/do. It's really a great idea, you do the points and portions of WW but follow SB RULES.
If you could post your question on our WEEKLY SUPPORT BOARD, you'll get more responses from the gals. To do so, just get to that board and hit NEW REPLY instead of new thread:)
