GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!

Will post my usual morning post sometime later, but wanted to make sure I got our MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY done early in the morning, so here's my contribution for MM, I truly think it's a wonderful one:

http://members.aol.com/debelli/monday_morning_thought.jpg

CHOOSE YOUR FOCUS

If you think that your life lacks focus, consider this. You are always focused on something. You definitely have the ability to focus your attention. Yet in order to benefit from that ability to focus, you must be willing to continually exercise control over it.

Staying positively and productively focused is not so much a skill that must be learned as it is a choice that must be made. And you're much more likely to make the necessary choice when that choice is clear to you.

In every moment you have a choice. You can choose achievement or you can choose mediocrity. You can choose victory or you can choose defeat. You can choose to keep yourself focused on the thoughts and actions which will move you forward, or you can choose to let your focus wander uselessly from one thing to another.

Staying positively focused is a matter of choice. You can focus your efforts in the direction of success, whenever you choose to do so. You're always focused on something, so make the choice to make that focus count.

-- Ralph Marston

Morning Again!

Got Lauren off to school and finally have a bit of time to post.

Got in my 4.5miles today-nowhere as cool as yesterday, high of 81 today:rolleyes: Only walked today, very windy out there and didn't feel like running against the wind today. Anyhow, I figured to give my feet a rest, they have some ugly blisters trying to dry up on them:eek:

Didn't sleep well last night, tossed and turned, hot and cold-is this part of becoming 40? I don't like it one bit!!!

Not much on my agenda today. Going to go make something for breakfast and then run a few errands before I do carpool this afternoon.

TREE, actually, the Carbolite IS available on line for making it at home, but honestly, it's not the same as the soft-serve machines, esp. since they can mix up flavors and ordering it from the Co. is only available in chocolate and vanilla. If you have a low-carb type of store in your area they may carry it, or you can called MORICO, the Co. that makes it and ask them who may carry it in your area, if anyone. Their info is on the FOOD INFORMATION BOARD. Some weight charts do take age into consideration, there are so many of them out there though, just have to filter through some of them. I'm medium boned, I believe, and what I did was take the high and low and average it in the middle to make my goal weight. I think the only thing like dry rot we get down here is when you don't wear something with elastic for a long time, it seems to get "crispy". Seems like that happens with undies a lot. LOL! I too seem to be at the library a lot this part year, checking out all the diet books and some cook books-they must think I'm nuts there! Now, that picture you posted-you are so adorable! Oh yes, so is your niece;) It's always so nice to put a name with a face. Can't wait to see the pics that GATOR took!!! Thanks for posting that site with the BMI info, I'm at 22.7 I guess. I did it for 5' 1", but I'm actually 5' 1 1/2 inches tall-I'm sure you can totally relate how important that 1/2 inch is when you're short!!

MEL, are you even sure that brown rice wasn't colored with soy sauce? LOL! I'm not one for Chinese, like some Thai, but haven't eaten Chinese in years. I'm sure you could of done a lot worse and probably didn't do all that bad. The thing is, you were aware of what you were eating and probably stayed as legal as you could. One meal is NOT going to kill you (don't tell me that though, I won't believe you:lol: )
Sounds like you had a good time with your family. Tell your brother to hurry up with the pics he took-can't wait to see you!!! Trust me, I do more of a walk then a jog. I'm sure if someone video taped me doing my bouts of jogging I'd probably die-I must look a bit strange.

FILLISE, sounds like you had a successful seminar. Hope you get lots of new business from the leads.

DNEEES, hey, if FLY gets back on track with the board-she's in VA as well. You should be able to find MM book at the library, or any book store. Even on line, used, you should be able to find it. It's worth reading. He goes into more detail and explanation about this WOE than SB does.

That's it for me, for now at least. Please remember TOMORROW NIGHT IS CHAT AT 9:15PM EST Hope yo all can make it.

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

I have good news, I was back down to my lowest on SB this morning!! 159/146/125 since 6/4/01!! Didn't think I would ever see that mark again!!!!!! Thats all the motivation I need for a MONDAY;) !

Took the boys to that haunted forest hayride Friday night as planned. My 4 year old didn't like it very much - we couldn't pry his hands from his eyes - he was NOT LOOKING AT ANYTHING!!! Poor baby wouldn't even go to the bathroom alone when we got home!! Now my "big boy", 9 year old professional loved it!! We met up with a couple of his friends there and they wanted to go through the "BARN" (seperate thing, like a haunted house) after the hayride. My DH and little one went home - we were smart and brought separate cars so they wouldn't have to wait around on us in the cold - and Justin's friend's parents were too chicken to go through it with them, so I ended up with 3 fourth grade boys hanging on me through the adventure in the "Haunted Barn"!! It was sooooo funny  , they were scared to death! I thought one of them was gonna break every bone in my hand and the other was gonna pull my shirt off!! My Justin did pretty well, he knew what to expect, the others had never been to anything like it! They laid down on the ground holding their chests and panting like dogs when we finally got out!! It was an experience I'll never forget - I'll hold that over their heads for a lifetime!!

BusDeb - are you getting any sort of error message back? If so, tell me what it says and I'll get the IT guys to check and see what the problem might be!

Deb - size 6 - WOW!! I think I'm about to be back in my 10s in just a few more lbs... I can't wait to hit the single digits again!!

LDB - glad you're back!

BOB - my poor Tigers just didn't cut the mustard.... Is third watch tonight??

Anyone else as glad as I am about AZ beating NY in the world series?!?!?!?

I guess I had better get some work done now!

Happy Monday Everybody!

All I have to know today is that I'm willing to have
my life be different. "Willingness" is the key to my
freedom. When I'm open minded, when I'm ready
to listen to ideas and suggestions, I'm already
changing my life for the better.

Things are truly insane for me right now. 12 days until my Best Friends wedding and I still have to pull off Halloween and a Bridal Shower amongst finding the shoes for my dress, making sure my best friend has all her stuff, making my back yard wedding ready...YIKES! Oh yeah, let's not forget my normal Mommy duties and a payroll deadline..Have a great week!

Evening ladies!
I'm back from the mountains! It was sooo cold! We went shopping and only bought deals:s: Helen, GA was packed for octoberfest. I was not very good this weekend:o We had a time finding decent food in the small town of Cleveland! But I did a lot of walking! We did go to Babyland USA and that was a treat. If you ever come to North Georgia ya gotta go to that it's free and only takes a few minutes. If ya like the cabbage patch dolls you will enjoy it. Well better get back to work tomorrow is another day! So far so good today :spin:

Happy Monday everybody! Hope everyone has had a good start to the week. Mine has been kind of crazy. I have a program with my 3rd graders tomorrow night and we were scheduled to practice on stage this morning. The HS one act play folks left their props on the stage and I didn't want to wait for someone else to move them, so I did it myself. There was a nail in something somewhere and I cut my thumb:cry: I dripped all the way to the nurse's office. She suggested I get a tetnus shot, so I was off to the health clinic for one. I decided against stitches and put a butterfly on it instead. My principal's first reaction was that it wasn't workman's comp! I reported it though.:s: I told him not to worry, it didn't cost the school anything.

Aside from that it has been a normal day for us. Just trying to stay on the plan and be good.

Hi everyone

It has been a beautiful sunny day here to-day. A little cooler but that's fine with me as long as the sun shines. Yesterday was also a good day. I spent some time outside raking up leaves. Had eight bagfuls to put out this morning. Still lots more to come down. Hope to get my dil and gc's over next week to help with the rest of them. For them it's fun. I'm also pleased to report that I was down one pound to-day to 195. Thought I would report it to-day in case it comes back before WIW. I've just come back from playing a few games of badminton and yesterday I did one of my exercise tapes. I've been really slacking on the exercises lately and thought it was time I got my butt moving. I did the 2 Mile Walk tape. I felt like quitting after the first ten minutes. You really notice it when you haven't been exercising those muscles for a while but I kept at it and finished the two miles. I expect it to be a little easier next time - tomorrow maybe.

Also went shopping yesterday and bought a pair of pants in a smaller size. I actually tried on a pair to-day that were two sizes smaller but they were a bit too snug. Thought I had better wait awhile before buying them.

Deb - Size 6 pants - WOW - when are you going to wear them? Congrats on your best time walk/jog. You are forever breaking your own record.

Lamap - Congratulations on the 79 pounds lost in one year on SB. I think that is wonderful. I don't know what your goal was but an average of 11/2 pounds a week for the whole year is a good loss.

Meliris - Congrats on reaching the 150 mark. Thats good going in three months.

Tree - Thanks for posting the info about the BMI. I'll be checking out that site soon. I'd like to see what they think my ideal weight should be. I certainly don't expect to get back down to what I was thirty years ago. If I did I would probably look like a rag-doll.

Have to get back in the kitchen. I am making stuffed green peppers for supper. Still have lots of posts to check up on from last weeks board so hope to get back on later.

Bye for now.

Marie.

Hi everyone, hope your weekends went well. I have had about 100oz of water trying to get rid of the sodium and other effects of the chinese food, and can definitely report that the food part is gone! Must be some ingredient that my body is just not used to anymore and didn't want hanging around. I used to love chinese- ate it at least once a week until SB; Philadelphia has a great Chinatown and we would frequently go in for meals, especially dim sum. It was always such an adventure, particularly because a lot of the little restaurants don't have menus in English, so our method of ordering was pointing and smiling at food that went past, or on ther people's tables. Not real sure about what some of the thing were that I ate, and not sure I'd eat em if I knew what they were !

Marie- It must be freezing up there by now- not just a little cooler. It's been COLD here and we are 475 miles (at least to North York) SE of you!
I can sure relate to the leaves- we are swimming in them. Luckily our property backs up to woods, so next weekend I'll get out the leaf blower and whoosh them into the woods. I hate having to bag them.

Tree- Thanks for the BMI site with the age calculation. I like that a LOT better than the other ones, since it puts me at 25, and I love being called NORMAL even if it is 'high' normal. Besides, they don't know about my bulging biceps, buns of steel, and ab sixpack.:D But I still need to get a lot of fat off to see the abs!:?:

Hi Nascar- Glad to have you back, I was wondering where you were. Octoberfest is fun- but I don't think anyone (well, maybe Deb) could hold out and keep it legal!

TV- Congrats on getting back to your low! The Halloween adventures sound-hmmm-fun? I got to avoid it this year because Andrew went with his cub scout troop. That's not mys cup of tea- especially with 9 or 10 eleven year olds. Half were terrified and half (including mine)thought the scarier and grosser the better. What an age!

Gotta go invent something quick for dinner- hubby out at a long job interview- he's been consulting for last few months and this is a 'real' job. So it's just me and ds who'se lobbying for going out for cheesesteaks. A Philadelphia specialty gauranteed to kill anyone who eats more than one a year!

Evening All:wave:

Hmmm, slow for a Monday round these parts-any idea why? :?:

Not much new down here, just thought I'd get in a reply to the posts before it got too late.

TV, CONGRATULATIONS! What a great way to start a Monday! Now, it's downward from here on, right? No pressure here, huh?!? Sounds like the kids had a good time at the haunted house, or at least one of them did! Hope Halloween night doesn't freak the little one out.

LDBLOND, through all you're going through, and all you have to do, to come on an let us know you are here, is really the best. I'm sure you'll find those shoes and the wedding will be beautiful. Don't stress over it, just enjoy the day with the couple. Once this is all over, take a deep breath and BREATH!!!! On second thought, call NANCE and make a lunch date!!!!

NASCAR, glad to hear you're back safe and sound. Sounds like you had a "cool trip". LOL! Hmmm, BABYLAND, sounds, umm, interesting. So, that's where the CPD originated?

MUSIC, ouch! Hope your finger is feeling better. Make sure to watch it though, don't need anything nasty happening to it! Hope it doesn't throb too much. Good luck with tomorrow's program!!!

ROSALIE, CONGRATS! I'm sure that's a solid 195, and soon you'll be going below that;) AND, new pants, smaller new pants-AWESOME!!! That just HAS to make you feel good! Good job on pushing yourself to continue on that 2 mile walk, I know how it feels to not want to do it sometimes, but you do feel good after you've done it! When I looked at the paper for Montreal yesterday it said a high of 39, low of 29-are you as cold over your way?? Not sure when/if I'll wear those jeans out of this house, right now, I consider them just try-ons! Just not comfortable in something that's stiff, doesn't stretch and isn't black! I think as the cooler weather continues I'll be able to get in a little better time, but not much-this one was exceptional, I'm sure.

MEL, you are definitely a lot more adventurous than I at eating out. I could never eat anything that I didn't know exactly what it was-you know some of those Asian dishes, they could be snake, dog and gosh knows what else!

Please remember once again, TOMORROW NIGHT IS CHAT T 9:15PMEST.

FROG, I LOVE THE PICTURE!! THANKS SO MUCH FOR POSTING IT!!!! You and FILLISE look great, even if the pic is 6 months old:rolleyes: I guess I'm not the only one who procrastinates on this board:lol:

FILLISE, you look so much like my friend Gail, though she has blond hair. It's so nice to finally put a face to a name:D

FROG, your hair looks lighter in this pic than previous ones. Is it my old eyes playing tricks, or did we highlight the hair?

You two look MAHVALOUS!!!!!!:D

Okay, had to come back and edit this post after I saw the second picture-is that you FROG??? Hey, where's the cleavage??????:?:

DEB - Looks like we are posting at the same time! The hair color does look lighter than in previous posts. It may be too. In the summer I tend to go more blonde, in the fall I keep it with a little more reddish brown. Got my "fall color" last week. I really should keep it this color all the time, it suits me better!

OMG! It's (the cleavage) there, guess you can't see it in that pic. That was one of the stories I have about Spewer, she couldn't stand that my boobs are bigger than hers! Forget the fact that so is everything else on me (hips, butt, thighs!) All she sees is that I have one little thing that she wants. She can drap her raggedy *ss into the plastic surgeon and get her some silicone, seeing how she already has a personal relationship with a doc! MEOW!!!

Gotta go eat, will post more about the party later!

Peace,

OMG!!! I have been soooooooo bad!! All because I am overtired!

Yesterday afternoon I went to church hall to help decorate for the Fall Festival. It was supposed to be an easy job. After shoving around bales of hay, going up and down stairs to the stage area, sweeping up hay, etc., etc.

By the time I got home four hours later I was EXHAUSTED and ACHING! I had eaten only one bare unadorned, unrolled hot dog w/ a small glass of water, so I was hungry. I did okay, I warmed up bean soup and had a SB WW Pistolette w/ it.

Got comfy in chair to stitch and watch ice skating. I gave up on the stitching (you know I had to be tired!) and tried to concentrate on skating. Next thing I know it's 11:30 and I'm trying to wake up and feel like I have a good hangover!

This morning I was so achy I could not make myself get up and get ready for 8a exercise class. Did make it to nsh home at 9:30, being bright eyed and bushy tailed for them tired me even more. So of course when I got home I was hungry. We won't talk about my binge!!!! And now I have a real hangover!

When I am so tired out I am at my weakest. I pray tomotrrow I will be on track and will be less tired and have the energy to move.

I'm stupid, I push not to give in and say I can't, then I pay for it in tiredness etc.

Okay enough of that! I've had my whine!

DEBBIE - Like everyone else....WOW! Size 6!!!

TREE - For breakfast I often have some cottage cheese w/ a spoonful of SF jelly stirred in. I'm also w/ Sparkle, I love eggs in any form.

SOL - In case I'm not here tomorrow, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Really can't remember the other posts.

Welcome DENISE to the Board. I don't whine all the time.

Well, I am going to get comfy and try to stitch.

Take care all. sef

Hi everyone, I'm back again for a short visit

MusicTeach - Sorry to hear about your finger. Hope it heals up real fast.

Tree - That's a lovely pic of you and your niece. I checked out the BMI site you posted. It's a great site even tho they gave me a BMI of 30.5 adjusted for age, and a weight of 133-147 pounds. My lowest weight was 140 pounds many moons ago so I don't expect to even get down to 147. I think I will settle for 180 for the time being.

Ldblond - Glad to hear from you again. Sounds like you have a very busy time ahead of you but I am sure things will turn out just fine. Just don't get too stressed out and enjoy the shower and the wedding, and of course Halloween.

Deb - Luckily it's not as cold here as in Montreal. We had a mild 54 degrees to-day.

Meliris - Lucky you that you can just blow the leaves away. We aren't freezing up here yet. It was 12 degrees Celsius here to-day which is about 54 F. I even went out in my shorts to badminton, but it's only a short ride from here then about a 25 yard walk. The neighbours probably thought I was nuts. :D

TVthatsMe - Congrats on hitting your all time low again. That is sure good news for a Monday morning, heck it would be good news any morning.

Dneees - Welcome to the board.

Frog - That's a beautiful pic of you and Fillise.

Fillise - Glad to hear that your seminar went off well. That's a great pic.

Sef - I don't know where you get all the energy to do what you do. But you have to take care of yourself too. It sounds like you are working too hard and not eating enough. I know I have to have regular meals, otherwise I become crabby and miserable, and that's when I am likely to go off plan. Take care, and I hope you have a better day tomorrow.

Have to get back in the kitchen and clear up the dishes. I'm thinking of going out for a swim this evening if I get finished on time.

Bye for now.

OK! Now I have a little time to post before I run to pick up the pictures, so I'm posting while I wait.

The Halloween party was good Saturday night. We had 17 counting to the 2 of us, ahd 3 people cancel the day of and 5 people not RSVP (which is irritating to me! :( ) But the turnout was good overall.

Husband came as a really sexy viking! He was showing almost as much chest as me. He really looked authentic. Some of you will remember Belinda Wannabe from this site, she came as Tippy Hedren (sp?) from "The Birds." Her costume was great and won for most authentic. We also had the princess from Shrek, Zorro, a goddess, Dr. Death, a "Cereal killer" (he had mini boxes of cereal with knives through them and blood on them - really cute), a baked potato who won for most original, white trash who won for funniest, a beauty queen who came as Mrs. blank Avenue (her street name), 4 people didn't wear costumes, and that's about it.

OK, now the SPEWER story! (If you know the background on her skip this part. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about... Spewer is the name I gave a woman who is the most immature, attention-hungry, tackiest, most unrefined woman I have met in a long time. She has a history of making a complete fool out of herself, drinks too much, and can't enjoy what she has for wanting what she doesn't have. She tells everyone she meets (within the first 5 minutes of knowing them) that she has had a troubled and sad childhood, that she has had a tummy-tuck and liposuction, and any other story that she can to hold and keep the attention of others. She makes left-handed compliments, stabs people in the back, and says and does inappropriate things to other people's husbands, including mine! She earned the nickname I use for her when she began spewing wine all over the table and gifts at our one of ladies' night functions, and it was the first time she had ever met the hostess! Anyway to make that situation worse, when she had an opportunity to take one of the gifts she had stained with red wine spit, she remarked that "Oh I don't want that! It has stains on it!" She has also had many ugly comments regarding SB and likes to say that it is "my diet" referring to me. At one point this summer she began to state that she was on a diet and that she had lost 5 pounds or so. Nothing particularly wrong with being a size 4 and being on a diet, but she chose to run that under the noses of people who were nowhere near her size, causing them to reply, "You're so little, why are you on a diet?" Which is the attention she was seeking. She has difficulty seeing anyone be successful. She is too crude to be pitied.)

Why did I ask her to the party you might ask? Well, I invited everyone from the ladies group and didn't feel like I could invite everyone but her. Well her costume was more suited for a "come as you are" party, because she came as "white trash!" It was too appropriate to be funny! She managed to make a comment to me about my breasts, asking if it was "all me," and then imitated me talking to someone as if I were shoving and heaving my breasts in his face. She didn't hide the fact that she was imitating me, she did it standing less than 5 feet from me, repeating what I had just said. And in my own home :( She really brings out the  in me! But I have finally figured out why my chest bothers this size 4 twit, it's the one thing that I have that she wants! Sad isn't it? By the end of the night she had managed to spill a nice stream of red wine on my living room carpet, afterwhich she just laughed and told her husband he's have to come steam clean it the next day. He just laughed and told her that she'd owe him "big time" if he did. When I asked him later he just laughed it off and said that he didn't think that was gonna be happening! She phoned here on Sunday morning asking if we were able to get the stain out, which we weren't, but I wasn't gonna have her come over so she could remind me that she cleaned my rug for the rest of my days. I would really like to be able to not have to deal with her anymore, but I have too many other people who's company I enjoy. Thankfully more and more people are coming around to see what she is really like and have stopped telling her things that she will use as ammunition later on.

ENough wasted energy on her! I have a confession. I have been sooo good. I made Halloween sugar cookies and all kinds of other treats that I couldn't eat. I made a brownie "pizza" that was a box of brownie mix baked on a pizza pan, frosted and decorated with candy corn. Enough to put me in a coma!! Well Sunday afternoon I couldn't stay out of it! I had to take it to work and get rid of it! That is the first time in 12 months of sugar busting that I have done anything like that. The  made me do it!

Deb - The blisters on your feet may be a good indicator that your shoes aren't right for you. Are they too small, worn out? Blisters on your feet while wearing athletic type shoes isn't normal, not even with new ones. For more info on proper fit go to roadrunnersports.com Way to go on that size 6 doll! :D

TV - The scale is letting you see the results of your efforts!

NASCAR - Helen is such a pretty little town. I haven't been there in about 10 years. I have never been during Octoberfest but would like too. Glad you had a good time. I've been to Babyland General, it really is a fun stop.

MUSICTEACH - Your principal is a meanie. Hope your finger is fine. The tetanus (sp?) shot wasn't a bad idea.

ROASLIE - Down a pound! YIPPEE for you! Thanks for sending some of the Canadian air our way. It was wonderfully brisk this weekend.

MELIRIS - I love Chinese too. Like to get the chicken and veggies at a local take out place. I haven't been brave enough to eat the rice yet, I know a little wouldn't hurt me.

Well, I'm off to get my pics from the store!

Have a great night all!

Peace,
FROG

Well it's definitely back to the work routine here. Got home about 7:15 last evening & unloaded the car. Found the stack of mail my sister had piled up from the 10 days we were gone. Also found the stack of dirty dishes she left for me. Have yet to find the cats. They seemed to have all disappeared while we were gone.

Had to work a 12 hr shift today. What a welcome back huh? Gee, but I seem to be full of complaints tonight huh? Sorry about that.

Seems like I didn't do too much damage. Scale said 143 this am. That's only a 2 lb gain, so I guess it could have been alot worse.

Well, I'm off to bed. I'm beat. Good night all.

Re: pic-I am so the proud Aunt! My DN is just adorable. I'm glad others agree. :D

Aaagh! Birthday Lunch at work! You know when the restarurant gives a free dessert for the b-day person, and everyone shares. Lemon Coconut Cake and huge Fudge Brownie, both with whipped cream! They were going to cut the brownie into quarters! I had one (1) bite of brownie, and no lemon cake, 'cause I'm not partial to lemon. I am so glad they didn't get the Famous Blackberry Bread Pudding! I would have been a goner!

Debelli- found a LowCarbMall shop out here that does Carbolite ice cream. I had a taste of Choc Mint (not that great), and brought some coconut home (haven't tried it yet).

I gave up that extra 1/2" off my height years ago. People (TALL people) look at you strangely when you say "I'm 5-1-and a half". My DH is a whole foot taller than me, so that 1/2" doesn't add anything when we're out together! :)

TV- Ok it's not that quiet out in AZ! I was pretty impressed by the D-backs. Not that I watched the game, but my DH gave me the highlights after he watched it. :)

Frog- I think you should have your rug professionally cleaned. Then send Spewer the bill. Don't expect her to pay for it, but it may keep her away from you and your parties for a while if she thinks you mean her to pay for it. :s: Isn't there always one of those! I know a few someones who want the world to orbit them. If there's even the remotest possibility of drama, it's squeezed out and blown up to be earth-shattering. Save us from the drama queens! I'm glad your party was a success! It sounds like it was fun. Just think, even if she got an enhanced bust, everyone would surreptitiously check for the Real Breast test which doesn't work with breast jobs.

Rosalie- I think the thing with all those calculators and weight charts is to take them with a grain of salt. Yes, they are guidelines, but if you're happy and healthy with who you are, that should be enough. And losing weight (regardless of how much) is better than not losing any, especially if it makes you happier or healthier.
Unfortunately a lot of our weight issues are tied up with self-esteem and what is perceived to be beautiful in our young, twiggy-thin, media-saturated culture. I was very impressed when Elle magazine (with larger models) came out. It makes sense to have a magazine with the women that are actually out there in real life (maybe that's why most models don't work after 30 :o ). Ok, off my soapbox....

FYI - chinese food. Know why the chicken and beef are always tender? They marinate the meat beforehand in egg, soy sauce, sugar, salt, wine, pepper, oil + cornstarch. I have a great Chinese cookbook, and just about EVERYTHING uses sugar in the sauce. However, a couple of teaspoons of cornstarch and sugar shouldn't be so bad in a dish for 4.

Meliris- you have abs?! I'm jealous, I lost mine years ago! :D

Well, I better go, it's getting late.

Okay, I got a perspective on my binge and whine! I am feeling more rested now and can look at what I did.

I did not kill myself with as much food as I thought I did. For breakfast I had cottage cheese w/ spoonful of SF jelly, coffee. Went to nsg home got home about noon, as I said very tired. First thing I grabbed a hardboiled egg. Then had a roll. Then I went wrong, ate about half a can of corned beef hash, threw rest away. Pita Chips were next. I still wasn't satisfied and just before I wrote my whine, I had a big dish of legal ice cream. After that I got a grip and was good. I really didn't need any more food, but about 8 I had a little spaghetti, WW of course, and legal sauce.

Now as I was stitching, I had a thought. I ate the ice cream and then did my post. Took a nap. Then realized that I really lost that "bingeing" mode. Was it the ice cream that satisfied me at last, sharing my whine with you all, taking a nap or what?

I don't know what it was, just know I was no longer in that irrational mode. I think I will give the credit to all of you!!

I think it was Susan who said she didn't know where I got my energy from. I'm not sure either, when I feel good I just go, but then like an idiot I sometimes forget to pace myself.

I do know since being on SB I have more energy and feel better than I have in a long time. I just don't want to give in and curl up my toes and let the world pass me by. I want to stir the world up a little with my presence.

By the way the rest of the day I was certainly not a dookie houser. It must have been the corned beef hash!! I think everything I put in went right out!! I should have been cleaning house instead of stitching tonight as I was really gas driven!!

I was talking to a lady in church that is very active in Habitat For Humanity. Our church was the original leader and supporter for it in our area and she had made an annoucement in church about events, one of which was about an appraisal fair. I didn't catch it all so was asking her about the time. The result of which, she asked me about volunteering. They are looking for newsletter/publicity person. I said I couldn't do physical stuff like swinging a hammer (altho I certainly know how from all our do-it-yourself projects). She said everyone wants to hammer, no one wants to be on committees. So she invited me to a meeting and I am thinking about it. It is a worthwhile cause. If I could just put my volunteer time in to a full work week I'd be rich! At least with volunteering, you can do a couple of hours and then come home.

Oh well, bored you all long enough. I thank you all for being here. Take care. sef

Good Tuesday Morning Everyone:wave:

Just got in from my walk/jog-I had so many reasons not to go out there and do it today, TOM showed up with a bang (usually I have tell-tale signs), back ached due to TOM, very windy outside, threat of rain, feet hurt-basically, I could of picked any one of those excuses, but out I went, doing the 4.5 miles in 49:50 and darn proud of myself:D

So, with TOM here I'm now up 2lbs from my low, but that's to be expected, so if I head the PISS & MOAN CLUB this week, don't mind me;) Hopefully, this will be the worst of it.

FROG, I agree, I like the "lighter you.":D I'm sure that cleavage is there, hard to see in the picture, but it's a must have when you're ELVIRA-a definite trademark! Love the goblet! Sounds like you had a good time at the party-can't wait to see more pics-hope you will post one of your strapping Viking! Can't believe the latest SPEWER STORY, next she'll be crapping on your carpet! I agree with TREE, I'd send her the bill for the carpet cleaning. Honestly, I wouldn't be anywhere as nice as you-I would definitely NOT invite her to anything else, exclude her. I'm sure the other ladies would understand and probably find it a relief. I'm sure most would like to exclude her, just probably no one wants to be the first one, the so-called "bad guy." If I don't like someone, trust me, you'll know it! I don't try to pretend, it's just not me. For the shoes, they are the same exact style as my last 2 pairs, I bought 3 pairs, all the same, all the same size. This one is giving me blisters where the others didn't. It's just going to take a little time. I have to start looking for new ones now anyhow-it takes me FOREVER to find something I like IN BLACK and the way I go through sneakers, I'm due every 5-6 months. I'll check out that site, though-thanks!

SEF, throwing around bales of hay an easy job???? What are you, nuts? All that exertion, plus not eating right, what are you trying to do, do yourself in? Do I have to come over there and slap some sense into your head?????

MELF, welcome back! Hope you've found the cats by now! Congrats, only a couple pounds up on the scale is great considering how long you were gone from your familiar surroundings. I'm sure those will slide right off of you now that you're home.

BUSDEB, thanks for checking in:)

TREE, COCONUT IS MY FAVORITE!!!! Second is Vanillal. I also like MINT CHIP (green one), among so many others. I like it right when it's out of the machine vs. hard packed in the freezer. Great that you found some close to home-many can't find it so easily. Did they have anything else interesting there?

It's TUESDAYS TIPS and I thought I'd pass this along that I got in an e-mail:

Weekly Fit Tip

Your health is affected not only by how much body fat you have, but also by where most of the fat is located on your body. Waist to hip ratio (WHR) analyzes the relationship between your waist and hip measurements to help you understand your body-type and current health status. Most people store their body fat in two distinct ways, often called " apple " and " pear " shapes.

These terms refer to where you carry excess body fat around your middle ( apple ) or around your hips and buttocks ( pear ). Carrying excess body fat around your middle increases health risks significantly more than carrying fat around your hips, thighs and other areas of your body.

To determine if you have a healthy WHR, first use a measuring tape to obtain the circumference of your waist, just above your belly button. Then measure the circumference of your hips at the widest part of your buttocks.

To determine your WHR, simply divide your waist circumference from your hip circumference, in either inches or centimeters. If you are male and have a WHR greater than 1.0 or a female with a WHR greater than 0.85 you are considered to have an " apple shape ", meaning that you have more body fat located in your abdominal area. If your WHR is less than 1.0 (male) or 0.85 (female), you either have a healthy body fat percentage or considered to have a " pear shape ", which means that you tend to have more body fat located in peripheral areas of your body, like your hips and/or buttocks. Apple-shaped (rather than pear-shaped ) body-types are at increased risk for the health problems associated with obesity, diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, and stroke.

If your WHR does indicate an apple-shape , don't see this as a negative result. Instead treat it as a call-to-action to improve your daily habits. There is nothing you can do to change your body-type that's something you inherited but you can take steps to improve your health and reduce your risk for the above-mentioned diseases. Even if you have a genetic predisposition to being apple-shaped , the way you live is what ultimately determines whether or not you gain excess fat. Genes clearly play a role, but they certainly don't determine what you're going to have for dinner or how often you exercise.

As long as you don't have too much excess body fat, being an apple versus a pear doesn't put you at special risk it's just something to keep in mind. After all, the more you understand your body-type, the easier it will be to create and implement a routine that's right for you ; you're also more likely to feel good about the progress you're making towards a healthy lifestyle. And even those with a pear-shape should try to keep their body fat within a healthy range, to help avoid the various problems associated with obesity.

PLEASE REMEMBER, TONIGHT IS CHAT AT 9:15PM EST!!! Also, TOMORROW IS WEIGH IN WEDNESDAY. I hope the scales are kind to everyone tomorrow!:)

And on that note, I'm outta here. I'll see you all this evening, if not before.

Have a wonderful day!

Happy birthday sonya!!! Hope it's a good one and you are enoying your new job!

I'm joining the piss and moan club today: Sunday's Adventure in Chinatown was not in itself so damaging, but left me crazed for anything salty or sweet or greasy yesterday. By dinner, I gave in to ds's pleas for going out, and ended up at Outback, which is usually fine, but the bloomin' onion he ordered and I ate sure wasn't! Then by 10:30, with dh still not home, I tackled a 1/2 bag of choc-peanut butter cookies and brought them down. By the end of that, I had such a stomach ache that i finally stopped. This morning I feel like I've been run over by a truck so HOPEFULLY I'll remember this next time I even dream of cheating! I'm so annoyed w/ myself I could scream! So whoever is in charge of that wagon, send it on! Couldn't convince myself to get up and lift weights this am, but I did get in my 1 mile run and 2.5 mile walk, certainly not a record pace, tho. Will try to lift this afternoon when I feel less icky.

FROG- LOVED the pics! I'm with Deb on the Spewer situation. She'd be HISTORY at my house! I bet if you casually mention her to your other friends, you'd find they all groan and confide they all can't stand her either but don't want to hurt each other's feelings. She's definitely not worth it, except as a source of gruesome stories to tell!

Tree- OK, what is the Real Breast Test? I've been puzzling over that one all night! Thanks for the food info- I did know what I was getting into since I've done a lot of chinese cooking. Tried to minimize by avoiding the obvious pitfalls like General Tsao's Chicken, and peeling the wrappers off dumplings and wontons, but I didn't realize the "day after" effect of wanting MORE MORE MORE!

Welcome back MELF- glad you had a good time, and I'm sure once you're back in your routines, those 2 pounds will be history.

SEF- Try and avoid the farm laborer stuff! Haybales are heavy! The Habitat for Humanity volunteer work sounds great. They are such a wonderful organization; we have occaissionally gone out and swung hammers for them and supported them over the years. I hadn't realized what they said to you about needing admin volunteers more than hammer swingers, but it makes sense.

MusicTeach- Hope the thumb is OK! Can you still accompany your kids?

Whoa- it's time to go to work!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOLSHINE

Hope you have a great day and that the sun is as lovely for you as it is here today!

I'm gonna try to catch up reading the posts later. I've decided I have to cut down on my puter time:( in order to get in my exercise. So far this seems to be working:smug: So I may not respond much (not that I did anyway:o ) but I will be reading. You all have so much help and info to offer.

Gotta run a couple of errands and then maybe rake some leaves. It is a bit chilly outside but the sun is wonderful  . It is supposed to be around 64 degrees F later this week.

Catch y'all later!

Today is my baby girl's 13th. She's in good company.

I tried this post last night and lost it in cyberspace looking for a graphic. And I lost it a few minutes ago trying to correct spelling errors. You should never do a refesh before you submit your post. The graphic search results should be at the bottom.

Catie and I had a wonderful weekend in NW ARK visiting my brother, sister and parents. And (sorry Susan) the GAME WAS AWESOME! GO HOGS! Woo Pig Sooie! My DB and I were on the 40 yard line 28 rows up. It was great to see them play so well.
My other team, NAVY, fired their coach on Sunday. I'm glad I'm not a coach whose job depended on wins and losses.

Don't have time for replies, am at school and will have students again in about 5 minutes. Will try to remember chat tonight, but the game might keep me occupied. Go D'backs!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SONYA!!!!

Hello everone--sorry I was AWOL yesterday, but it was a busy day.

Frog--thanks for posting the pics. I also have copies of those pics--but have never gotten around to getting a scanner. I've got to learn to ask to get my pictures on disk when I have them developed. I enjoyed meeting you and talking with you so much that day--and sister--you are one hottie Elvira!!!!!!!:o

SEF--OK I got the needlepoint back out and am working on it at night again. It's not that I don't have the time, but that I've been doing nothing but needlepoint Christmas stockings for SIX years!!! and I'm sick of them. Fortunatly this is the last one--so I'm promising myself that I can start on something completly different in January. Besides do you know how tough it is to do needlepoint with a playful kitten in the house? Belle LOVES it when I get all that yarn out.

Right now she is thinking it is fun to try to catch my fingers as I type.

JRed--y'all beat us fair and square. Fortunatly we have this week off--then we hit the Amen corner of the season--UGA,Bama and LSU. Two of those games are on the road!

Rosalie--glad to have you back for avisit--it is always good to hear from you!

Where is everyone else? I guess with a holiday coming up it is a busy busy time!

Thanks for the concern about my boo boo. It's OK today. Fortunately, I don't accompany my kids much in class. We use CDs and tapes. Hopefully by Sunday it'll be much better so I can play for service.:)

FROG - Dump the spewer! On second thought, don't! Where else would we have stories about someone who everyone loves to hate (harsh word! Dislike is better!)

DEB - Really! Did you ever hear of elder abuse! The idea, wanting to slap me alongside the head, not that it couldn't hurt! Hey! I didn't lift those bales, just shoved them around! Altho that was rough too.

MEL - Sounds like we were sort of in the same boat! We know better, but don't repent until it's too late and we feel miserable! I'm still not so peppy today, maybe I only got run over by a Volkswagen!

SUSAN - Good for you! That last stocking will be done in no time! Next time don't make so many of one thing it CAN get boring! My cat is older now and pretty good. Usually as I sit down, he's leaping up. But he has learned that when I'm stitching he must lie on the footrest. Before that he was a lovable pain......so yes I do know what it's like trying to get something done with a kitten around!

Will try to make chat tonight!

Take care sef.

Hey Y'All!

It's getting ugly outside, been raining a bit down here, looks like more to come.

Decided to go to the mall today. Before I left I had about 5-6 tamarind (fruit) and once I got to the mall, boy, did I get sick. I visited 5 bathrooms while I was there-I was making faces at the porcelain godess! Feeling better now, thank goodness. When I got home I decided to get something to eat, so far, it's staying down. Did manage to hop on the scale, was 1.5lbs lower than this morning's weight. Not that I think that's going to stay down, since I really didn't have much to eat since this morning, but it sure was nice to see!:D

Here's some good news, at least for me. I put on a new bra, which is a new size! It's a 34D, a far cry from when I was a 48DDD way back, but even since starting SB I've come down quite a bit:D

MEL, okay, how much of that BLOOMIN ONION did you scarf down? Couldn't of been all that bad, could it? I want to know what DH says when you're eating that-does he know you aren't allowed to have that-if so, what does he say. Eli would love for me to endulge in a BLOOMIN ONION at OUTBACK, he usually orders one and eats it all by himself. He says I take the joy out of his enjoyment-that he wants me to eat it with him, instead of just sitting there-too bad, so sad! Just curious what DH says, or does when you do eat some of the BO. Just keep telling me, like others in the past about how gross you feel after a binge-it keeps me in line, and as you can read from my post at the beginning, I get sick enough with eating regular foods! Besides, I'm sure the exercise you did was productive in keeping you from doing too much damamge;)

ZANNE, we will TOTALLY UNDERSTAND less computer time and more exercise-that's a great excuse!!!!

JRED, Happy Birthday to your new teenager!! How is she celebrating her big day into teenagehood?

TV, as I read your ditty to SOL, I said outloud "she's so cute!!" That was adorable, what you wrote!

FILLISE, you don't have to get your pics on disk, if you take them to Walmart or Kmart, they can upload them onto their website and you can copy them from there-they stay up anywhere form 30-90 days-but having them on disk is nice too.

MUSIC, good luck tonight, hope the little ones sing their hearts out!!

SEF, LOL! I always kid my Mom that when she passes on, that I'm taking her body to a taxidermy and having her stuffed, then mount her on a chair on wheels, so I can drag her around the house! Would that be a form of elder abuse if she's not of this world? Hey, if I came up there and slapped you around, who knows, you may be into stuff like that and like it! LOL!! I just worry about you doing too much-it surely sounds like you can't say no to anyone, but learn how to sometimes, when you know it's stuff you shouldn't be doing-LIKE THROWING OR PUSHING AROUND BALES OF HAY!!!!!

Again, a reminder that tomorrow is WIW!!!

Okay gals, I'm outta here, for now. Hoping I'll have the energy to stay up this evening. Last night I was dead to the world at 9:30pm!

See you later!!

Have a great day today, SolShine. Hope your new job is going wonderfully, and that your birthday is something special. When are you working out now? In what part of town is your new job?

Yesterday was my day to work at the pregnancy center. They moved me from Tuesdays to Mondays. It is working out well for me, but Mondays are quite busy. I saw some women yesterday that really needed a friend, and I was so glad I was there to give them some Good News.

Today was visit the doctor day, with a consultation with my GP on all the lab tests I had done last month. Then this afternoon was my annual eye check. The lab work showed that I am a bit low in thyroid, which may explain why I have been having such a hard time moving off my present weight. He have me a month's supply of some thyroid medicine to see if it will make any difference. I hope it helps. He is the doctor who pushes SB, but he also wants me to keep my fat grams low.

I have been looking for some fabric to make a suit. Good fabric stores are few and far between. I can remember when it was so easy to find a good selection, but now pickin's are slim. I did find a beautiful silk medium weight weave that would look really good, but at $25 per yd. That's a lot! I'll have to think about it.

Debbie--I rode the bike at the exercise place yesterday. Yuk--Really boring. I can't wait to get my orthotics back so I can hop on the TM again. I can only stand about 10 minutes on the bike, and then I think I'm gonna go stark raving mad.

Lots of meeting tomorrow, and a big French test tomorrow night, so have to finish studying tonight. Thursday someone has invited us over for dinner, and Friday we are out of town again. We will be in the Gainesville area, but will be staying at a friend's cabin right on the Itchtucknee River, a beautiful, crystal clear river that meanders through some spectacular scenery. It is a popular spot for tubers. That is not the potato kind of tuber, but the person kind of tuber, one who plunks their bottom in the middle of an inner tube and floats down the river freezing their butt while enjoying warm air on the rest of their body!! Beer is a popular accompanyment and often people rent an extra tube in which they float their cooler.

I think I will poach some salmon to take for lunch, and maybe take something to grill for dinner up there.

We are having fish, tilapia, for dinner. It is so good. I marinate it in a wonderful tequile, lime juice, jalapeno marinade and we just love it. Maybe some brown rice and salad and some cooked yellow squash. Ummm. Hopefully, my DH will help me clean up the kitchen. That's the only part about cooking I done't enjoy.

Have a good evening, all, and keep focusing on your goal.

Deb-It was really bad, about 1/3 of the friggin onion! It was a big one, too. And if DH was there, it never would have been on the table cause he HATES them (my naturally thin husband doesn't like greasy food and I consider it one of the better food groups- guess that's what naturally thin means!) and says he'll only go to Outback as long as we don't order one. And then I tossed down choc-peanut butter cookies, store-bought yet!- to keep all that good grease and salt company. I'd like to blame all this on cravings triggered by sneaky secret indgredients in the Chinese food, but I think the real explanation is that 1) I reached my goal for the month ahead of time, plus an extra pound; and 2) that lovely BMI chart that told me I was "NORMAL". 'Tho how a stomach that looks like large curd cottage cheese can be normal is beyond me. Anyway, I think the old brain and stomach subconsciously screamed "hallelujah we're gonna celebrate!" and the hands and mouth complied.:( So the net result is I probably won't be able to post a loss tomorrow on WIW anyway! This has me really worried about what will happen if I ever reach my real goal- not if, WHEN, and gives me an even greater respect for you who are managing to maintain so well.

Dh would not have said much- other than to remind me how mad I'd be at myself. He's pretty sensitive about being tactful. On the other hand, he wasn't oozing sympathy about my excruciating stomach ache, either:lol:

Gator- Your meals always sound so good. I get sooo tired of cooking that mine are pretty uninspired these days. I haven't done tilapia in ages. Ds won't eat fish, so I have to make 2 meals if I want fish and there are no leftovers. Sometimes it seems worth it, others not.

Maybe on at chat, but I'm falling asleep typing, so I don't know....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Meliris--Maybe if you fixed a delicious looking fresh fish in a wonderful way, with parsley decorating the plate, and then fixed him a plain ole meat patty, he might give fish a try. Especially with a great sauce. If you want, I'll post the marinade I use on both tilapia and chicken breast. It has a tiny bit of a bite to it with the fresh minced jalapeno. When the fish is cooking on the grill, I boil down the marinade to reduce it, and then I pour it over the fish as an accompaniment. With the bit of OJ in it, it has a sweet spiciness to it.

I ended up having lima beans instead of the brown rice. Also had the fresh yellow squash, and I fixed a salad of a 1/4 head of bibb lettuce sprinkled with minced scallion and just a few drops of dressing. Decorated with several segments of fresh red grapefruit. I just had to have the limas because I needed to get some more starch into my diet today. Otherwise my calorie count would have been too low. I'm counting on the limas, field peas, split peas, beans, etc. to keep the calorie count high enough, but at the same time keep the fat low. Hope this works. I took my first thyroid pill today. Hope this makes some difference.

Hello to all

I have had a busy couple of days and tomorrow looks just as busy. Today I took my MIL for her quarterly check to her Parkinsons Doctor. She is doing great but will go back tomorrow to recheck your finger. She has had antibiotics in an IV at the hospital for 4 days and 4days at home with antibiotics and the finger is still swollen....even more so if you ask me. We will wait to hear what the doc says tomorrow.
When we went to get off the bus this afternoon....my Daughter .....said " Mom I don't feel well." We had to wait on my middle son to get finished with Jazz band practice so we sat in the car and napped. I just took her temp.....102.....so we will be at the doctor with her after my am bus run......when it rains it pours. So much for a day at home....LOL
I peaked at the scale this morning and if my loss is not as good as it was this morning I am going to go with this mornings loss......just kidding.....Wed. is always the one I count.

Solshine..........HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!

Mel........those onions at Outback are the best......I used to eat almost half of one everytime we went..........they are hard to pass up.

Frog.....that gal sounds like a trip........with friends like that who needs enemies?

Hope to see a lot of our folks in chat in a few mins.

Bye

Meliris - Ok, don't kick me off the forum for telling! When a guy wants to know if a girl has fakes, he just needs her to lay down (that's an easy one!). If her breasts shift/spread towards her arms, they're real. If they're still perky and upright (i.e. no lateral movement) they're fakes. I have no idea if this is true or not, it's just stuff you hear around (especially when someone's trying to figure it out). :o

Solshine - I forgot to say it yesterday. Happy B-day! Hope it's a good one!

As always enjoyed the chat tonight! I am feeling much better, just needed a day of rest to refuel!

DEB - Dale Evans always said she hoped she didn't die before Roy Rogers as he had Trigger and Bullet stuffed and mounted in his museum!! Yeah I need a slap now and then. But I had enough abuse as a kid, don't need more.

GATOR - I can remember that I sewed our clothes to save money. The price of material today is not a savings! I hope you will post your marinade for the fish and chicken. We love both and eat a lot of it

MEL - In my weakened state of mind, I am drooling over the BO! I loved them!

Well, guess I'll go see if the Yanks are winning!

Take care all. Shirley

Good Morning everyone... well not so good for me! Weighed in this am and up 1 pound. So not as bad as I thought but still not good.
Frog - Great pictures! Love the Elvira costume!
Deb - Yep Babyland is where the CPD originated. They still make them there an you can adopt them there as well... get this they have a delivery every 15-20 minutes! I didn't get to see one though. We were ready to hit Helen for the shopping:s: Oh I found the asian pears at walmart for .98/lb. you have to watch them cashiers they will ring them up each! They are not too bad. Real juicy. It's apple season in North Georgia so I will be getting some of these when I have to go up there for work soon. They are soo good! Love the fuji and galas the best!

Ok, I've looked a little at the recipe boards, desserts sound great. I'm looking for Quick & Easy supper meals. So if anyone has any send them to me!! DH says I'm weird I don't like beans except pintos and green beans and fish except shrimp, and I have now discovered I like crab legs & lobster, but I don't get those too often, but any yummy recipes will be welcomed!
Hope everyones WIW is better than mine!

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY SOLSHINE!!!

Good Wednesday Morning Everyone:wave:

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! I hope all of you who have little ones that will be going out to trick or treat have a very safe and fun-filled Halloween. And for everyone here on the board, I truly hope the candy demon:devil: doesn't invade your bodies!!!

Already got my 4.5 miles in this morning, did my 3rd best walk/jog time. Even doubled up on 7 of my jogs, added an additional length (short one) and lengthened a single one.

Okay, so it's WEIGH IN WEDNESDAY a day I sometimes am happy about, other days I'd like to aviod. Today is a good day, back down to my low and it also lets me post a 1.5lb loss from last weeks WIW. I also met my EOM GOAL, which is nice to see-but in all actuality, I lost 1lb for the month of October. Oct. 1st I was 121, today 120.

Eli is off today, but NOT going to Broward. Too much to do around the house, would like to get some things done here, plus, decorate outside-haven't done so before now due to rains. PLUS, have to carve the pumpkin. This year I'm going with a patriotic design.

Thanks to SEF & BUSDEB for joining in the chat last night:)

GATOR, hope the new thyroid meds help you out. Good going on the bike, even if you don't like it, it's something until your orthodics come in.

MEL, I guess that BO could of been worse, you could of done like Eli and eaten practically all of it! Sorry, I thought you'd gone to dinner wish DH, not DS, so DS doesn't say anything, where DH it wouldn't of come into play anyhow. I'm sure damage isn't as bad as you think, think of all that protein in those cookies:rolleyes: Remember, we LEARN from our experiences!!!!;)

BUSDEB, hope all is well wil MIL finger and DD with the temp. Sorry I failed to ask you at chat last night.

TREE, LOL, there's no way in the world with your description that anyone could ever accuse ME for having falsies-mine not only fall to the side, but want to crawl onto my back! At least mine are flat, easy for those boobie squishing mammograms-let those perky boobs get in one of those vices, they'll be howling, I bet!!

SEF, thanks for joining the chat last night-hey, so my idea for Mom isn't so far fetched-others have thought about it before me!!!

NASCAR, don't worry about 1lb, being away from home, plus general fluctuations, it's just temporry. I've been up 5lbs in one week with no explanations before. Consider yourself lucky! The Asian pears at Walmart ARE .98 cents EACH! If you saw a sign that was lb., it was mismarked-which happened to me. Hopefully, they were the big ones. They have great fiber in them. I like gala apples too, but go for the Asian pears over apples. Have you tried the CRUSTLESS SPINACH QUICHE RECIPE-it's really good!!

A reminder that TOMORROW IS RECIPE DAY and we have the new NOVEMBER RECIPE BOARD up and running. If you have any good SB LEGAL RECIPES you'd like to share with the board, please, try to post them tomorrow. I think a focus on HOLIDAY RECIPES would be a good idea, if you have any[/b]

I'll check in with you all sometime later today.

Enjoy your HALLOWEEN!

Hi everyone

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Well, I can report a loss for this week, at last. Down one pound from last week to 195. Same as I reported on Monday. At least this time it has stayed off. Hope it is for good.

I won't be getting into any Halloween candy (I hope the gc's don't offer me any  two of them usually come to visit me after trick or treating) as I only bought chips this year. I don't plan on eating any of those. When I was at work last evening I was feeling hungry and the need for something more after my supper so I went to the machine and bought a bag of chips. A short while later I had a bit of a stomach ache. So I won't be doing that again soon. I think the reason I was feeling the need for something was because I didn't have enough veggies with my supper.

Melf - Have you found the cats yet? That was a bummer having to work that long shift right after vacation. Sounds like you did well with eating while away. I'm sure that two pounds will be gone again in no time.

Frog - Glad you had a good Halloween party. Too bad you have to put up with the Spewer.

Deb - Hope you are feeling better to-day.

Have to get going. I have my car in for service and I'm just waiting for a ride back to the garage.

I hope everyone has a good WIW.

Marie.

Hello everyone, sorry I have not been posting much this week, but work calls so I must respond. Working 3-11 shift ysterday & today. Off tomorrow, but I'll be baby-sitting with gs Daxton. I have not seen my precious boy for 2 weeks now & miss him terribly. Friday is his 2nd birthday & also dh & I's 11th wedding anniversary. So Daxton & I are going to go see my baby girl who I have not seen in almost a month!

Anyway, today being WIW, I am back down to 141, just 1 lb above my lowest weight. Not fantastic, but I'll take it :)

Debelli I finally got around to making the hummus recipe you sent me & OMG!! It's wonderful. How much is a serving:?: I'm afraid I could do some serious damage if I don't find out quickly!!! I'm not sure if there will be any left after dh gets home if he finds it, so maybe I'll be ok :D Hey, congrats on they loss. 120 sounds great!

Rosalie No, I'm afraid the cats have not found their way home yet. Seems like this happened a couple of times before when we have left for a week or so, but I was hoping since my sister was house sitting that they would stay home too, but they didn't! DH misses them.

GatorGal Good luck on your French exam! I saw a sale paper last night with the fresh salmon on sale for $2.99/lb. That's a good price here. DH & I were talking about getting some to put on the Foreman grill. You post made me hungry for some good fresh fish. What kind of marinade do you use on yours:?:

Well gals, time is running short & I need to get a uniform ready. Bye.

Sorry need to run.....

Happy Spooky Day!

Sorry I haven't checked in lately. I've ben busy and therefore exhausted. We had a halloween decorating contest here at work and I was one of the coordinators for our floor. We put in a lot of hard work, but it was all worth it. WE WON!! Yeah! We get a catered lunch next week. It is also fun becuase all the employees get to bring in their kids in their costumes and go to all the cubes for candy.

Of course, since there is candy in the cubes, my will power has been lacking. I haven't been too bad, just a couple peices.

I forgot to do WIW, but I have also established there is a problem with my scale placement. How much it reads varies on where it is on the bathroom floor. So I need to move it to the other bathroom where it won't have to be moved. Then I can weigh in and get the actaul starting weight and go from there. I'll let you know how things go tomorrow.

SOLSHINE - Happy belated birthday!!

To everyone else, hope you all are havng a great week. I'm sorry that I haven't had time to read all the posts and respond individually. I will try and do better.

Hope those of you with kids have a fun and safe Halloween!

OK - I'm holding at 146, which is down from last week's 147. Better than gaining more, I guess!

Our little town did trick-or-treat last night to avoid the conflict for Wed. night church services. I was glad they did. Now it is over for me and I don't have to worry about getting out tonight on a FULL MOON HALLOWEEN!

We had treats here at work today and, YES, I've cheated, but not too bad. I brought "bloody snot dip". It is made with cheese whiz, rotel tomatos and green food coloring. It has got to be one of the nastiest things I have ever seen!! I could hardly bring myself to eat it and I knew what was in in because I made it myself!!!

I was so disappointed because I went to get my new teeth today and we ended up having to send them back because they were a tad too long. The doc could have shortened them himself, but the coloring effects would have been affected so in order for them to look just right, he had to return them. DRATS - They were some of the best looking teeth too!! Like something you would see in a toothpaste ad. Did you all ever notice that the edges of your teeth have this kinda transparancy thing going on? Thats what he didn't want to cut off. Now I have to wait until Tuesday!

BusDeb - hope DD is feeling better! How is MIL?

Happy Halloween ALL!!

Gotta run for now.

Just a few minutes to post before the monsters start arriving- they seem to surprise me earlier every year. This morning I finally got back to my pre-weekend low so WIW is 175/149/13?. A 2 pound drop from last week. Hope I can keep it off through tonite. Considering how I kept trying to sabotage myself for 3 days, I'm surprised.

Each year I resent passing out all this candy more and more- the kids shouldn't eat it, it just causes constant fights in our house, and now I really get upset about the isidiousness of the sugar industry and how they and the greeting card companies have turned this into a major national holiday! Guess I'm just turning into a grinch in my old age. Next I'll be railing on about back in the old days....:o

So, good luck keeping your fingers out of the candy basket everyone!

Hmmmm! If a Grinch could steal Halloween and do away with it I would be his accomplice. Halloween is not my favorite holiday!!! Have never liked it. It's not a religious thing, just a royal pain! It's not age either! Oh well!

I agree that the greeting card companies and florist association has created holidays to drum up business. Did you know there is a MIL day? I didn't until dil sent me an email card. She said she didn't know either, was looking for something else and found it! Secretaries Day, Bosses Day, Grandparents Day...these aren't national holidays they're business holidays! I know, I know, gripe, gripe, gripe.

Went to exercise this morning, then to choir room and did some work for about an hour, then home for a nap. I guess I'm still not up to speed. Choir practice tonight. I have to leave in a few minutes.

MELF - I would be worried sick about the cats. When we first moved here we couldn't find Bear. Searched a practically empty house, no cat. Went around neighborhood, no cat. By now I am practically in tears. We sitting around talking about him and down he comes from upstairs like nothing was wrong! Have no idea where he could have hid! I hope yours come home soon.

BUS - hope dd is better soon. How's mil?

There must be other posts I've missed. Gotta go!

Take care. sef

Evening All:wave:

We had our flood of treat or treaters, thought there would be more, we had 36. Being it's after 8pm, I doubt there will be many more. I def. have candy left-which will be going to work with Eli tomorrow morning. My pumpkin came out nice, at least I think so. I got a lot of compliments on it from people. It was a flag and under that it said "GOD BLESS AMERICA!" It was a hard design to do (got it off the net), too tedious. Next year, back to scarey.

I didn't even have a piece of SB LEGAL CANDY tonight, just wasn't in the mood, and of course, the regular stuff does nothing for me. I've come to like the finer chocolates, not the cheap stuff!

ROSALIE, well CONGRATS to you on your loss! I truly find joy in seeing the scales behave for you, honestly. Thanks, I was feeling just fine as of last night, but something I ate, which I believe were hotdogs, made me sick again tonight, just for a while, but feeling fine now. Hope the GC's are stingy and don't offer you any of their candy this year;)

MELF, Happy Anniversary and HB to Daxton. Hope you enjoy your time with him and your daughter tomorrow! Kudos for getting back down, that 1lb is nothing-just fluctuations, I'm sure;) I'm so happy you liked the hummus-makes me feel good:) Hmmm, what do you call a serving of hummus? I just eat it!!!!

BUSDEB, I'm sure I can say that you must be our big LOSER this week-4lbs is awesome! CONGRATS!!

GATOR, will check the recipe board-thanks for posting!!

JMUIR, CONGRATS on winning the contest! Catered lunch-hope it's something you can enjoy;) As long as you are right back on track tomorrow, the few pieces of candy probably won't do any damage-besides, there's another week til WIW!!!

TV, that's great, down a pound from last week! LOL! BLOODY SNOT DIP? Sounds gross! Too bad candies, pies, cookies, cakes and ice creams don't have such appetizing names-I'd be less inclined to eat them too! Hey, we can't wait to see a pic of you with the new choppers!!! Remember, all good things come to those who wait:)

MEL, CONGRATS, 2lbs is wonderful!! I have to agree about giving out candy-I eyed some stuff at the HFS, but I know if I bought that stuff, the kids would throw it out or plain just not eat it. I hope that parents take notice and hopefully don't let their kids splurge. Maybe next year I'll find some good alternatives-maybe buy stuff marked down this year for next-like pencils, erasers, etc. to give out next year.

SEF, you are definitely right about the card businesses, but I don't think it's going to be like it was anymore. People are going to send more e-cards this year, I believe. I don't think with all that's going on those "off beat holidays" are going to find many card senders anymore.

I'm outta here for the night. I'll check in with you all tomorrow after my walk.

Have a good one!

I bought both the VEGGIE and the TURKEY PEPPERONI .. For those of you who don't know. This product was rated on the 3FC's board some time ago and it was all the rave...UNFORTUNATELY...we couldn't get it in the state of FLA for quite some time..I emailed the founder and President of the company and they started bantering back and forth about a contract...he didn't want to have to charge PUBLIX a lot of money to get the pizza here...and now...IT'S HERE!!! :)

We bought the candy, and no one came! Of course, I expected this, so I made Scott choose the candy (they're all his fav's not mine).:s:

Debelli - the lowcarbmall shop had mostly carbolite, atkins, and keto products. There wasn't much there for SB. However, I finally found agave nectar at a whole food store! Yay! I can't wait to try some recipes.

Y'ALL ARE THE BEST!!!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!!

This will be a hit and run post.....I've been lurking when I can and I am overwhelmed by the wonderful greetings for my birthday. THANK YOU!!! They do mean a lot! My birthday was my second day on the job and no one knew it was my birthday so it was a regular day at work. DEBBIE, DON'T READ THE NEXT PART :o When I got home we ordered BBQ pizza (thin and crispy) from Pizza Hut - my favorite - and then went to The Cheesecake Factory for dessert and Grand Marnier/Drambouie. I was stuffed by the end of the evening and glad we don't eat like that anymore, but the pizza was good. It's been a LONG time since I've had pizza since starting SB. The funniest thing was that dessert and our snifters (1 each) cost TWICE AS MUCH as the pizza.

I'm juggling fixin' b'fast, getting ready for work and checking e-mail and here. With trying to figure out the best commuting route for my new job, overwhelming new "stuff" to learn and my birthday I haven't had much time at all.

GATOR - I'm way down on John Young just about 1 mile north of the Beeline. WAAAAYYYYYY down there!! I leave home about 7am - 40-50 minute commute and haven't been getting home until around 6 or 6:30 depending on what time I leave. I'll leave earlier once I get the hang of what I'm doing. Don't know how that's going to fit with the gym yet. It's not really close to work or home.

FROG - I am going to send you my snail mail address - I just haven't done it yet. Meister asked off for that week-end for 2 reasons: 1) He KNOWS he wouldn't be able to get any sleep while everyone is in town. 2) He wants to come see you run, too! He loves to run, but I don't think has ever been in a marathon before - has lots of admiration for people who do that. He would love to have the time and money to train for a triathalon, but alas, he's married and, well, we just don't have the money to spend on those things. ;) I got a pop up ad for www.spew.com or something like that - had to laugh thinking of SPEWER! I would say I can't believe she acted like that about your rug, but I can. I'm so sorry you had to put up with another evening with her, but glad to hear her latest escapade. Maybe next time she's acting obnoxious you could ask her what it's like to be the laughing stock of town.

MARIE - WHOOOPEEEE!!!! HOT DIGGITY DOG!!! Congrats on getting to 195! Hopefully you and I will both be able to post 194 together next week. I didn't weigh this week since I gorged myself on my birthday. Will wait until next week. Without being able to walk or get to the gym I'm kinda skeerd to see what the scale says so I've been staying away from my one eyed friend.

JRED - Happy birthday to your daughter, too! She has and will have many many very memorable birthdays being born so close to such a fun holiday. I remember the first time I realized everyone doesn't have costume parties for their birthday. I always did, so I thought everyone did.

TV - That was a cool ditty!! Thank you!!

FILLISE AND FROG - You are 2 sexy women!! Thanks for sharing the photos with us!

FILLISE, funny, I always thought you had blonde hair for some reason. Now I'm trying to picture you in your Kentucky Derby hat holding a mint julep. Did you see that horse go down last week-end? It was so sad. I thought of you and wondered if you were at a party watching all the races.

NASCAR - I missed the last 20 laps of the race last week-end, but thought of you.

Gotta run....today is a huge presenation to the entire Sales Department. All the sales reps have come in to town from all over the USA for this thing. We're going to be at the Grand Cypress hotel on Disney property. 'Twill be a fun and interesting day since I haven't had anything to do with the planning or presenting that will be done. I'll be "gopher girl" - running errands as they need things and "sponge girl" learning all about what my team and our related team members do to support the sales reps.

Have a great day everyone!!!

GOOD THURSDAY MORNING EVERYONE!

Got in a 3.5 mile walk this morning, no jogging, too hot and windy out there and just wasn't in the mood.

At the end of the night we had 40 kids come by, not bad, but still do have candy left over. I did end up having a half-ounce servings of SB LEGAL CHOCOLATE right before I went to bed, got mad that I ate it so late, but something got me in the mood!

TODAY IS RECIPE DAY I'll get a couple recipes on the board sometime later:)

Can't believe it's already NOVEMBER! The holidays are almost here and another year is ending soon. I'd really like us all to focus on how you can control the damage that most holidays seem to bring us in the way of foods and the scales. What are your plans for staying on track during the holiday feeding frenzy?

Being it's a new month, I've set an EOM GOAL for a 1lb loss. If I lose fine and dandy, but ultimately, I'd just like to stay the same. I guess trying to lose the 1lb gives me something to look forward to? Enjoy watching the numbers on the scale decend while you can!!! It's great getting to goal, don't get me wrong, it's what I've hoped and prayed for my entire life, but once you get to goal, the excitement of seeing the scale go down is not there any more. That is, unless you have a gain, like TOM, then you do get to work on getting back down. I guess I need to get a new goal of some type, just haven't decided what it will be, YET:)

Interesting note. On my Weight Commander Program, it gives predictions for 90 days. On Sept. 3rd, the predictions it gave for the next 90 days was on 10-2 I'd be 122lbs-which I was. The next prediction was for today, which was 120, which is what I weigh today and 30 days from that is 12-1 which the WCP predicts I'll be 118.50. Also, I see that a year ago tomorrow was the first time I had measured my right upper thigh and as of today, 1 year later, I've lost 3" on my thigh. It didn't sound like much, but when I took the measuring tape and made it 3" bigger than I am now, the visual was great! How I wish I would of taken all my measurements when I started SB!

We have TWO BIRTHDAYS TO CELEBRATE IN THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER LDBLOND'S BIRTHDAY IS NOVEMBER 14thand NANCE'S BIRTHDAY IS NOVEMBER 27th If I failed to acknowledge someone's birthday, PLEASE, do not hesitate to let me know.

BOB, never heard of that pizza-tell me about it. Most of all, is it SB LEGAL?????? Keeping an eye on Michelle out there? I hope we don't get it-too late in the season for a storm.

TREE, you really won't find many lowcarb places carrying much, if anything, for SB. That's a good thing actually, it shows you don't need to buy much, if anything special to follow this WOE, unlike Atkins people-they must really shell out some big bucks for some of the stuff they eat! I've seen the grossest looking 4" pizza cost $6 at a low-carb store:eek: I can't say there's really anything I buy besides the JoknAl jelly that's considered "low-carb". The Carbolite though, I'm hooked. If it's made right, it's wonderful-very few flavors do I not like (like fruity ones, like Orange & Cherry (ick), I don't care for).

SOL, well it does sound like you definitely went all out for your BDAY! Of course, I had to read what you posted;) I'm sure that you were right back on track the next day, right? One meal won't kill you as long as you hop right back on the wagon-so I'm sure damage control was kept to a minimum;) Sounds like work is going well with you. Good luck with todays presentation.

Well ladies, I must get ready to take a shower. I hope you all have a great day, and I'll check in later with you all.

Toodles

Hello gals!

Boy did I feel rotten last night. I think it was because of eating so off program yesterday. I went to bed before 9:00 and I NEVER do that!

I feel a litte better today. Just ate an apple and am drinking SF hot chocolate to warm me up. I've already downed a 20 oz bottle of water and will fill er up again shortly. I'm still not doing well on getting the water in every day - I know it would help with the weight, if I could just force myself to do it :?: ! One of those personal battles I fight.

Deb - yes, that would be a good idea if we could make all that sweet stuff look gross then it would be less of a temptation! I promise, the cheese dip was not appealling to the eyes - YUCK!

BOB - Is that pizza legal??????? Sounds great. We have Publix here is AL, wonder if they carry it.........

Has anyone out there ever found truly legal hamburger buns? We grill quite often and I get really tired of eating my burger on my SF bread or just plain.

See you all on the flip side!

I'm hit and miss this week! It has been busy for me (which is good-business is starting to pick up). I was in Montgomery yesterday meeting with a potential client--today I'm on deadline for a newspaper article and I have two proposals to do so they will be ready to go into the mail on Monday!

Up and dow--well last week's waterwieght finally came off--and then TOM came yesterday so it is now back on. At least I know where it came from and about when it will go away (it will take about 3 days). I may not bother weighing again till next Wednesday.

I put Miss Belle on the scale and it desn't even budge. At the vet she came it at 2 lbs and 8 oz. She is now 16weeks old--so she is really tiny. She has some siamese in her--she has the sleek build and the unique head shape--but seeing as how she is all black, none of the the coloring. I have no idea what other genes she got. She talks like a Siamese too--it's really funny. I had no desire to get a cat when I came home with here--but a month later I can't imagine not having her!

Who thought I was blond????? It is just the opposite--as I get older my heair gets darker--which is better than grayer! My brother who--though younger than me--is almost all gray swears I color my hair--but at 43, I don't. At least not yet:D

It sounds like most everyone made it through halloween--and Sonya it sounds like you had a wonderful birthday!

BOB--I want to hear more about this pizza--is it a WW crust? We have a pizza joint here that serves a "wheat" crus, and another that uses no sugar in it's dough--now if I could just get them together!

Have a goodday everyone--I'll pop back in when I can

SOLSHINE--What route are you taking to work? There are several ways to get there and I might be able to tell you one that would be less trafficky. Let me know. Jim was asking about you today at the FC. They miss you.

As far as your DH running a triathalon, or even a marathon--my DH did that a good number of years ago. I think it might have been the very first Disney one. Anyway, when he was training he was running ALL the time and was so depleted from the running that he had no energy left for anything else--and I mean ANYTHING else!!! So I was happy when he got that out of his system. :)

TV--Have you ever tried your burger on Toufayan WW pita bread. Since it is pocket bread, it might really work great for a burger with all the trimmings. Always make sure you warm it up in the oven, or, easier, in the toaster, so it is soft and warm. It tastes much better that way.

I’ve lost 1 pound in the past 2 days. I don’t know if it the effect of the thyroid medicine or just because I’ve been eating really carefully, or perhaps both. Anyway, it will be interesting to see if my weight gets off being stuck. We have been invited over for dinner by some friends and she called this morning asking me if we would prefer a lemon meringue pie or italian cream cake for dessert. My first inclination would have been to say “Italian cream cake.” But I told her that “with her good cooking we would probably munch out on the main meal and may not have room for any dessert. Thus, she should fix whatever her family liked best, and, if we had room, we would have some. Also, my hubby didn’t often eat desserts because the sweets didn’t agree with him.” Not that all that is totally true down to the last jot or tittle, but it will make it easier to eat properly. I think she will end up fixing coconut cream pie, which I am not all that crazy about anyway. It was nice to be able to use my DH as an excuse instead of saying that I am on a diet.

I took off for French class last night at 5:45 before the goblins started their evening rounds, so I missed it all. Of course, I was planning on missing it anyway, as we have done for the past several years. I just don’t want to mess with the candy. So, I turned off all the lights, indoors and out, and when I got home at 9:30, it was all over, and I was safely through another halloween. I’ve had some halloweens where only a few kids came and I was left with a bunch of candy. Ugh. I hate to spend the money on the stuff, only to throw it out. So, it’s easier just being a halloween grinch!

The “goblins” that have been visiting us lately are raccoons. They like to come onto our screened in porch through the cat door and eat up all the cat food that we leave out there during the day. We usually bring it in about 9 pm. but the raccoons invade the porch before then and make a mess. So, I borrowed an animal trap (humane) and in the last 2 weeks have caught 3 racoons and 2 ‘possums. Two of those raccoons were BIG monsters, the size of a little dog! Anyway, the animal control people come haul them off for us, so I am hoping we will be critter free for the next few months.

Have a lot of chores to do today. Cleaning the laundry room, ironing, cleaning the kitchen, and other boring stuff. Have a great day.

Hey All:wave:

Just got home from running around with my Mom today, nothing exciting, just running:)

The winds are REALLY picking up down here, feeling the effects of Michelle they say-hoping it doesn't come this way. I have too much crap on my back porch to worry about bringing in and it's too darn late in the season for a hurricane-which is what they think it will become later this evening:eek:

TV, I have days that I can't stomach water, the past 2 days were like that, but today I've done a lot better. I wonder why that is sometimes, that you can down a gallon one day and the next 1 cup will make you feel sick! I guess it wouldn't be so bad if I drank something besides water, but that's really been it until recently, about a week ago I added 1 glass of cranberry juice (watered down version, really), but I don't have that every day either. I do believe EZEIKEL BREADS makes a hamburger bun, either them and/or ALVARADO does. Check your HFS next time you go in. You could make your own-I'm sure I must have a recipe, somewhere!

FILLISE, good going on the water weight and once TOM is passed, then the scale should go down. It's now nice to know how our bodies respond to things whereas years ago I would get so pist off and not understand why the scale would be up, then screw up, then said screw this! I've come to understand my bodys fluctuations, at least most of the time;)

GATOR, CONGRATS on that pound-hope it continues downward for you:)

LIZ, glad to hear you are back! :D Let us know how your trip was!!

Okay, gotta run get Lauren. She stayed after school for a meeting, so have to go get her in a few. Will check in later.

Here's my contribution for the day. It's easy, and very good, but it takes 1-1/2 hr to cook! Maybe a crock pot would be better. I used chicken broth, and added some regular hot pepper seeds for the various peppers. Per the author, you can substitute lentils, but the flavor will not be the same. I like that the chana dal stays firm.

Valerie's Golden Chana Dal Soup
2 C chana dal, cleaned
1 stalk celery
8 C water or veg stock
1 sm yam, peeled, chunked
1 lg onion, quartered
4 cloves garlic, chopped
1 cherry pepper, seeded, sliced
1 hot pepper, seeded, sliced
1/4 C basil leaves
2 T olive oil
2 bay leaves

Heat olive oil in pot, saute onions until golden. Add all of ingred, except dal and stock. Stir until softened. Add chana dal + water/stock. Bring to boil, simmer for 1 to 1-1/2 hr. Serves 6

Gatorgal- I was looking to see how many calories I should be consuming, and I came across this article at <www.thyroid.about.com>. I thought you might find it interesting.

Thyroid Diet Secrets: Are You Eating Enough Calories to Lose Weight? Eating Too Little -- Not Too Much -- May Be The Reason You Can't Lose Weight by Mary J. Shomon

While you'll run across an occasional expert who recommend extremely low-calorie diets for weight loss with hypothyroidism, the majority of experts believe you may not be eating enough to maintain your metabolism. Dropping calories too low can lower your metabolism and send your body into "hoard" mode -- a process which thyroid patients are particularly susceptible to and which can offset weight loss efforts and keep you from success at your diet.

Personally, when I want to lose weight, going on a 1200 calorie or less per day diet is a sure-fire way to ensure that I don't lose a pound. And if you're dieting your heart out, and not getting anywhere, the problem may not be that you're eating too much -- you may be eating too little, and not in the right balance.

To calculate how many calories you need:
Divide your current weight in pounds by 2.2, in order to convert your weight to kilograms.
Multiply you weight in kilograms by 30. (30 is the number of calories you need per pound of body weight.)
So, if you are 160 pounds, you divide 160 by 2.2, which equals 73 kilograms.
Multiply 73 kilograms by 30, which equals 2190, which would be how many calories you theoretically need to maintain your current weight of 160.
Subtract 200 calories for your thyroid condition, an estimate to reflect the reduction in your metabolism and calorie requirements.
1990 calories is now the estimated calorie requirements for you as a thyroid patient to maintain a weight of 160 pounds.

To lose weight, you need to cut your calorie requirements by 5 calories per kilogram, so that means you multiply your current weight in kilograms by 25 instead of 30.
So, in our example above, if you are 160 pounds, you divide 160 by 2.2, which equals 73 kilograms.
Multiply 73 kilograms by 25, which equals 1825, which would be how many calories you theoretically need to lose about a pound every ten days, at 3500 calories per pound).
Again, subtract 200 calories to account for your thyroid condition.
1625 calories is now the estimated calorie requirements for you as a thyroid patient to lose weight at a safe rate.

Also, most of the effective weight loss programs for thyroid patients also focus on breaking up those calories into multiple "mini-meals" per day. Larrian Gillespie, M.D., author of the"Goddess Diet" and "Menopause Diet"books, has said,"With hypothyroidism, one should eat 40% protein/25% fat/35% low glycemic carbohydrates in 250-300 calories portions, or mini meals."
So, let's look at one more set of calculations.
Calorie Requirements/Calculations/Sample
Current Weight, in Pounds/175
Divide above by 2.2/79
Multiply result by 25 /1987
Subtract 200 for "Thyroid Factor" /-200
Calories Per Day for Weight Loss /1787
Divide by 3=# of 300 cal "mini-meals" per day/6

At 300 calories per mini-meal, a 175 pound hypothyroid person could expect to lose weight eating approximately six balanced mini-meals of around 300 calories each, spaced out evenly throughout the day...along with appropriate exercise, of course!

This week has flown by!

Tuesday nite I had a massage here at the house that lasted a LONG time (it was glorious!) and I was too comfortable to remember chat! I missed y'all too!

Last night Belinda Wannabe came over and we handed out candy together while she and I worked on getting some clipart together for her daughter. She is in the picture I've attached below. She was Tippy from "The Birds." Her costume was GREAT! This is our attempt to be "in character." Look carefully and you'll see that she is petting one of her crows!

Keep on going to the next post!

Now I will attempt to respond to you dear ones!

Looks like you all have been busy with Trick-or-Treaters!

WIW was a BUST! Chocolate frosted brownie demon got the best of me and I am paying for it now! Up to 155. Dehydration from Gin and Tonics didn't help either!

To those of you who don't care too much for this holiday, I was reminded of a radio show host it refers to it as "Begger-ween" (which dh and I pronounce Begga-ween). I have always liked the fun of dressing up (big fat "duh" huh?), I guess it is the Gemini in me. At one period in my life I thought it was sacreligious, but I feel comfortable enough in my relationship with Christ that I know he knows my heart is not warped because I enjoy this holiday. Sorry, didn;t mean to sound preachy, and I don't think any of you were suggesting that with your comments, I was just sharing my own personal reflection.

Belinda Wannabe and I handed out candy together. I try to give out things along with candy, such as whistles, rings or pencil toppers. The parents seem appreciative and the kids (so far) think it's cool. The young girls almost always put the rings on immediately. I had clip on glow-in-the-dark scorpions for the fellas this year. Our community has fireworks on Halloween at 8:00 so that is usually the end of the doorbell ringing. This year, as in the past 2 years, I've had Spanish speaking children at my door. The are so cute as they say Trick-or-Treat with their accents!

I have to have a fasting blood sugar drawn at 7:00 in the a.m. Hope that my cholesterol is down again. I will have a follow-up appt next Fri.

Carpet cleaners are coming in the morning too! Hope Spewer rides by or her buddy sees the truck in the drive. I highly suspect that she will just say that the carpet was already stained, which it is, and that her addition wasn't all that much. Anything to take her off the hook but still keep the attention on her.

SOL - HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!! Sorry that I missed it the other day. I am THRILLED that your dh wants to come to the race. I think that he will find it highly motivating. Should he ever express an interest in running longer distances, I'd be happy to tell him about resources for training tips for recreational runners. I did not find it that challenging to train while I worked a full-time job, dh didn't either. As you get closer to the race you have to have a long run once a week, but never more than 7 miles one time a week on a weekday, as many as 19 on a weekend, but that is only once. Also, there is a Health and Fitness Expo at WDW Sports complex on Fiday and Saturday. It's free and there are seminars on running, injuries, gear, etc. There are also vendors with shoes, products, clothing etc. They also have places set up where you can make signs for the runners! The Expo may be of interest to all. Send me your address when ever you get around to it and I'll send you the info.

BOB - The pizza sounds great! I will ask my parents to look for it at Publix in their community. Thanks for the info! Hope your team wins this weekend. Are they playing?

GATOR - How is the French class coming? Your dh must have been a really dedicated runner. I don't run more than 4 times a week and I lift weights on the days I have a short run or take a rest. Hope your team wins this weekend too!

FILLISE - Glad to hear that things are picking up for your business. Belle sounds like a pretty kitty! Just between you and me, I hope OUR team wins this weekend more than any of the others, but don't tell the others I said so!

DEB, LIZ, SEF, JMUIR, ROSALIE and EVERYONE ELSE I HAVE MISSED - ER is now cling on so I must say adios and get ready for beddy-bye.

More tomorrow!

Glad to see everyone is doing great. Sorry I haven't posted in a while I am sick with my sinus's and have not been doing much but lurking. I am down another lb and am having to force myself to eat. We didn't buy any candy this year. Haven't had the first trick treater since we've been married almost 7 yrs ago, so we decided not to buy and candy this year. We bought my little girls class at school 3 bags today after they marked them down so they are at school and not here! Plus its that TOM and I am surprized to see that other lb gone, but good ridence anyway to that lb of fat...... Natures Own also puts out a sugar free hamburger bun but they don't have it here very often and I don't know why. Well my head feels about ready to explode so I will post later when I feel better.

congrats to all the losers this week and those that didn't keep on keepin on.

Thanks, TREE, for all the info on the caloric counts for thyroid patients. It was very helpful.

The dinner we had at friends tonight was a hoot! It would not have mattered if she had not had ANY dessert. That was such a non-SB-legal I almost laughed. The only thing on a SB WOE was the baked chicken breast, and it was topped with orange sauce. Then she had the green bean casserole with the mushroom soup and french fried onions, along with white rice. Then a selection of white bread rolls. And dessert was pumpkin pie. These are dear people, and so I just ate like a "human" and had a little of everything, leaving the table feeling satisfied but not full. It was a pleasure, but it wasn't something that would make me spin out of control because of it. Maybe I needed those extra calories to get up to my 1700. However, with all the fat in that meal, I think I was easily at 1700! The doctor really wants me to watch my fat intake, and he says to keep simple carbs to as close to zero as I can--thus a SB diet.

Just wanted to check in after that meal and my previous remarks about how "smart" I was regarding the dessert!!! LOL

FROG--Neat pix. Great idea for a party. I have always enjoyed halloween, except for the past few years when I was stuck with a bunch of left over candy. Thanks for the nice words of encouragement for my team. It's homecoming at the university, so the team that they will be playing is normally a patsy. So I anticipate a win. Strange things occasionally happen, though.

We're off tomorrow for a couple of days near Gainesville, so will miss y'all until Sunday.

Ws just lurking and thought I'd say Hi before going to bed.

Went to choir practice so missed the Trick or Treaters. There was no candy left over so no problem there, and I did not touch any before I went out.

Today I did my NH bit and then went grocery shopping.

Tomorrow there is a craft fair for 10,000 Villages. There are crafts from 30 thrid world countries I think. By selling their crafts it helps them to be able to support themselves. I am going to be there to sell for three hours in the morning.

ARGHHHHHHHHHH! I was busy and forgot about ER! What happened? Someone fill me in briefly.

Wonder Bread also makes a SFSGWW hamburger roll. The best in MHO is Nature's Own. I like to eat those plain, don't need butter or anything on them.

Well, gotta get to bed.

Take care. sef

Good Friday Morning Everyone:wave:

It's an ugly day here in SOFLA-dark skies and the winds are really blowing out there. We're keeping a sharp eye on the tropics, waiting to see what Michelle is going to do this weekend. Hopefully, she'll take a sharp turn once over Cuba, if not, we're in some trouble because she'll be coming straight for us! I don't think many of us are prepared, this late in the season. We had a very quiet hurricane season, up until now, it seems.

I was less than ambitious this morning to get out of bed and walk. The kids don't have school here today, teacher workday, so I really didn't have to get up early, but did so automatically out of habit. I finally told myself, despite how ugly the skies looked and how ugly I felt, I was going because tomorrow is my day off, and the way things look for the weekend and beginning of next week might have my not walking much at all. So, I did my 4.5 miles and the bare minimum of jogging-I was fighting against the wind-not good. But, at least I went.

Didn't get on yesterday to post my recipes-will do so tonight when the kids are gone and Eli's at work.

BOB, how many ounces is each pizza, or what's a serving size? Sounds pretty good. If I can't find them here I know who to ask to bring me one next time they come to Miami which is soon, I hope;)

TREE, make sure you get that recipe onto the NOVEMBER RECIPE BOARD, sounds yummy!!! I have seen that article you posted, it's a good one. According to it, I should consume 1363 to lose. I usually do 1400 calories. Though, it doesn't take into consideration is someone exercises, at least not when giving the totals. It has it's pros and cons, just like any article-but again, a good one to read in regards to not going too low on the calories.

FROG, loved the pics! It was nice to see BELINDA and your sexy hubby-he looks like VIKING material! Is he a blondie under that cap? The picture of you and BELINDA, your face looks soooo tiny! You really look cute! Let us know how the cholesterol check goes!

THUNDER, hope you feel better soon! CONGRATS on being down a pound, but I hope you will find your loses not from not eating, that's not good. Those kind of pounds tend to resurface too easily.

SEF, good for you for staying away from the candy-I did the same. That craft fair sounds great-wish I was there, I love going to shows like that.

Okay, gotta run and get in the shower. Will check in with you all later. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend-it's now raining here!

Good Friday everyone!

I feel that I am finally able to breathe for the first time this week. I made all my deadlines yesterday--so it was a good day.

TOM still has me bloated--ick!

Frog--Love the pictures! I haven't "done" halloween in years--but I always enjoy it when I do. I had no trick or treaters at my hous--which is normal since there really aren't any small children on my street. So it means I don't have to worry about having candy in the house!

I cooked dinner for my church's college student fellowship last night--we did soup and they really seemed appreciative. I made the chicken and rice and it was yummy! I'm so glad to be able to put uncle ben's back into my diet.

SEF--I LOVE 10,000 villages! I hit the shop in Montreat this summer and got a good bit of Christmas shopping done. I also sent a friend a beautiful handmade pot from Pakistan for his birthday. I love the fact that all the money goes to the crafters themselves! My church does a SEERVE bizaar every other year atChristmas time! Good luck!

Tree-- thanks for the article. the women in my family have a history of thyroid disease--so far I'm checking out ok--but my dr always watches it.

Thunder--I hope you feel better soon! Nature's own is driving me crazy with their hamburger buns! They were out here for a little while and then gone. I could get them in NC but then they disappeared last summer. I finally went to the bakery store in WIlmington and the women there said there was a problem with spoilage--they were apparently growing mold overnight. They pulled them to try to fix the problem and would begin baking them again when they figured it out. I don't know if that was just in their bakery--or throughout the Flowers system. I want them back! I have just a few left in the freezer and it is nice to be able to have a hamburger every now and again!

Gator--I think you did well. That's really the one time and place where it is almost impossible to totally control food choices. I almost dread eating at someone's house--especially the "helpful" folks who think since I'm trying to lose weight that baked potatoes are good!!!!! Most of my friends are very supportive and check with me--but every now and again I just plain get stuck!

Back to work--
I hope everyone has a good day!

I COMPLETELY forgot to tell y'all that Halloween is my unofficial 1 year anniversary on SB!!!! :D

With all the party and birthday stuff (dh's b-day was Sunday) that I forgot to post it on the board!

I have had a great year and SB has really changed my life. I know that I could not have been successful without 3FC, Deb and the gang! Thanks!

DEB - DH is a coppertop! Look at that pic again and you'll see that there's a bit o' red shining. He has the prettiest hair, it is what caught my eye initially, then the legs, but when I saw his beautiful blue eyes, I was hooked! It's funny to me how big my face looks in the pic with him and how much smaller it looks in the other. I think the reality is somewhere in between. In just over 2 months you'll be able to see with your own 2 peepers! YEAH! I finally get to meet DEB! BOB! SOL! and GATOR! and anyone else who'll be joining us.

Well, that's all for now. Carpet cleaner is gone now. 95% of the redwine came up. There are still traces of purplish-red on the floor.

Gotta get back to taking the decorations down. It's taking forever!! Have a good evening all!

Hi all!

Just got back from sale. Was supposed to be there 2 hours and wound up staying until we closed at 2. I missed out on a beautiful blue/natural basket w/ porcelain handles, because I didn't take time to grab it as soon as I saw it. Went to take my post at money table and some lady came in a bought every single basket of all shapes. There are never a lot of any one item. People who know get there early to get the best picks.

We also had a bake sale and was doing okay with that. It runs again tomorrow but I am not scheduled to help. All money from the crafts go to the crafters which is good. Gives them a form of income and not charity which for many is hard to accept.

I bought a terra cotta statue of 2 cats for my dd who collects them, a carved wooden dove w/ an olive branch in his beak for dil's birthday this month and 2 tiny carved crosses that I will make earrings out of for myslf.

SUSAN - I use Nature's Own all the time and have never had a problem w/ spoilage and in this Louisiana humidity bread doesn't last long. Maybe it was a regional bakery problem. Hope you get them back soon, I know I would miss them!

One thing nice about cooking for a group like that, you can always make something OP and can have some too. No one need know that they are eating "diet food"!

Well, am going to put my feet up a while I am tired.

See you all on the Board.

Take care. Shirley

FROG, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY KIDDO! I bet this past year on SB has gone by fast, at least it seems 19months has for me! A coppertop, eh? I must agree, from the pic he does look like he has sparkling eyes. Funny how we women look at eyes and men look at other parts of bodies when looking at women. I can't believe it, just 2 months before we get to meet-it's going to go by VERY fast!!!! We really need to make some definite plans once you have all yours set in stone.

SEF, I see we pushed ourself a little more than we needed to today-you are a glutton for punishment aren't you?!? I hope you get more than your feet up. Maybe a good slap isn't the best idea-how about I send up a Chippendale look-a-like that is a masseuse???? Yeah, I do bet that sounds better to you!!!

BIGKNIGHTS, WELCOME TO THE BOARD!!!! I'm so happy you decided to join us:D You'll love the wonderful group of women here on our board. You are doing very well on SB and I congratulate you on your loss. I'd love for you to tell the gals more about yourself and that YOU TOO ARE A FLORIDIAN!!!!!!! I just love that we have women from all over the US and Canada on here, but another Floridian, well, a gal from my own State:) You are in good company, BOB, SOL, GATOR, LIZ, LAMAP & CB and myself are all from FL (if I missed some, whip me with a wet WW noodle!). I'm so happy you can see our wonderful support that we have for each other, and I think I can speak for the entire group that we will support you just as much:) I would love for you to tell the gals a bit more about you, and your background, your friends on SB, etc. etc. Sorry, you can't be shy here-you won't be after a couple posts on the board, I guarantee it!! Don't ever hesitate to ask questions, we're always eager and willing to help, in any way. Please, when you get a few minutes, do post your BIO on our BIO BOARD as well, we love learning more about our new members!!! Again, WELCOME!!!!

Eli's due home any minute, so I'm gonna exit stage left for a little while. I'll check in with you all a bit later.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone-pray we don't get Huriicane Michelle down here!!!!

Welcome BigKnightsMomma!
Glad you joined us! I'm from Arizona, one of the few SB'ers out in the SW part of the country. Actually, I'm surprised there aren't more people SB'ing in my neck of the woods (er, I mean cactus :D )! There's a bunch of great people on this site, and we're happy to help out and answer questions.

Good dreary morning from SE Pa. I think your Florida rains have finally worked their way north. Very gray and wet here today, don't know if I'll get in a walk, but I sure won't have to do those pesky leaves! What a pity.

This am I got on the scale and peeked quickly, cause I feel totally bloated and PMS'y, though who knows whether TOM will actually show up! But I was down 2 pounds from yesterday! This makes no sense. I can barely get my rings on and off, although last week they were sliding off my findgers! I don't know if I'll ever understand the fluctuations:?: Did any of you, ahem... more mature ladies notice TOM changes with this diet, or do you think the timing is just coincidence?

DH and DS just left for a full day of cub scout activities in the rain. Glad I'm not part of that, but I get the WHOLE day to myself. After running a few errands, I'll prbably waste it lying o the couch reading. What I should be doing is trying out some of those newly posted recipes and figuring out how to make some sort of Thanksgiving dessert. I usually do about 4 different kind of pies, and the rest of the family is mighty annoyed that I've declined this year. I should make 'em anyway, but just not eat them. At least that's what a truly altruistic person would do! Over the years I've adapted most recipes so they'll be Kosher for my step-mom and s-sister, but adding the SB wrinkle might be too much!

BIGKNIGHT- welcome! Another FLA gal? Must be something in the water down there:lol: This is a great board, lots of caring and support, and a quick shove back on the wagon when you want it. Of course NONE OF US EVER need that, right?

FROG- LOVED the pictures! You and the hunky Viking make a very striking couple! So how did you meet him that you noticed his legs first?
Congratulations on your 1 year of SB. I don't recall where you started out (weightwise) but you look great now! Especially as Elvira:D I'd love to try that next Halloween, but at my stunted height I'd look like a black fire plug with boobs.

Deb-While you're sending out Chippendale masseurs, send one up here!!! That sounds like a good idea for everyone. Maybe we can get a group discount. I added a liltte too much weight to my barbell this week and aggravated an old shoulder injury from too much lifted about 6 years ago. stupid stupid stupid! I should know better, but kind of like watching and anticipating the numbers on the scale going down, adding more weight to the bar is another thrill! Until it hurts:(

Susan- Sounds like you need a break. Did you have a career change that I didn't pick up on? I thought on your bio you said you were a professor.
I'm not sure what the posts about clients, election time, deadlines mean. Glad you mad your deadlines, whatever they were! Though I do remember from when I taught that grading, not to mention devising, mid-terms and finals was as stressful on me as on my students. Tho I'm sure they never would have believed it!;)

Thunder- Hope you feel better! Haven't had sinus problems in a few years, knock on wood, but I sure remember the misery! Try real garlicky, real hot chicken soup. There- do I sound like a Jewish mother?:o

Hello Gator, Tree, BOB, Nascar,TV, Solshine, Sparkle where are you!!! Sef, take a break today! Sorry if I missed anyone:dizzy:

Bye for now, out to brave the rain,

mel

Good Morning all,
We won our game last night and of course the band was GREAT! How would I know.....I was in the concession stand working. We had a great time.....several ppl broke food to celebrate our last home game. I had to stare at 4 layers chocolate cake with some sort of whipped cream looking filling. I was good and didn't even try a bite.
My DH,DS#1, DS#2 and my Dad are all heading to the Alabama game today. My DD is going to spend the day with her Granny. So I called a friend and we are going to Homestead Hollow, which is a huge outdoor craft show. It is always lots of fun. The weather here is beautiful today so should be a great day to be outside.

DEB.........glad you had a good day with Mom and the kids. If I ever make it down there I want to try the carbolite.....sounds yummy. ;)

SEF.......the dove you got sounds beautiful ....would love to see.

Got to go.....see you all soon.

Debbie :))

Good Morning from Beautiful NC..It's a blue bird day here and I'm getting ready to go for a run. Have been SOOOOO Slack about running the past week! I've been a bad :nono: and lazy girl. Today I will hit the pavement with a renewed sense of fitness. Marathon is 2 months from this Tuesday!

Got all the decorations from Halloween down, but not in the attic yet. Need another Rubbermaid container. Am going out later to hunt one like I want.

MEL - Thanks for the nice words about my costume. I realized in some of the pics we took that I needed a little extra support in my tummy area! :o I started at 190. I should post some before and after pics! The differences are dramatic I think! BTW - I met dh at a minor league baseball game when he was still in the Army. He had a broken ankle and was in shorts and on crutches. I was the "date" of another guy in an all male unit (Rangers) so I had to be the wife or date of a soldier there. Well my ahem "date" left me sitting alone at a picnic table while he want to chat up his buddies. Looking around I see a handsome guy in sporty shorts trying to make his way through the BBQ buffet on cructhes and juggling a tray. DUH-TAH-DUH-DUH! It's Frog to the rescue of the cutest thing I'd seen all day! He was polite, called me the obligatory "Mam," and went to another table. He wasn't gonna talk to someone else's lady! I spent the rest of the night checking him out! That was August and I didn't see him again for a while. I saw him twice in the grocery store, once I ran because I looked like a haint, the other time I looked fresh so I tried to find him but couldn't. Well... as fate would have it I saw him a 3rd time at a local night spot. It was the Saturday between Chistmas and New Year's. We both remembered each other from 4 months back, and the rest is history. We had our first date after he returned from a ski trip in January and got married that same year in November! Our 9 year anniversary is Nov. 7th! Aren't you glad you asked? He's the best thing that's ever happened to me and I love him dearly!

BigKnight'sMama - Welcome to the board! Glad you are already being successful with this WOE!

Well, Froggie's gotta go pound the pavement! Have a great Saturday everybody!

Peace,
Frog

Good Sat. Morning!

Well, garage sales sucked here, it started to rain this morning but let up quickly-many people anticipated this weekend being a wash, but the few who did their garage sales should of named them JUNK SALES!

We are still watching the tropics for development of Michelle. The Keys have a mandatory evaculation for non-residents, but no mandatory evacuation for residents. That's far from us, but we would be the next to get advisories here. We just hope it takes this much anticipated turn, if not, we're screwed, to put it mildly. It's already a category 4 hurricane:eek: We just have to wait and see. Thank goodness I have most stuff I need in case we do get it, the grocery stores are zoos right now!

MEL, 2lbs, CONGRATS! Take it why you can and don't ask questions! I can drop right before my TOM then go up and then go up some more. Today I'm up 2.5lbs, TOM ended yesterday-I sometimes can detect a pattern on my weight fluctuations, sometimes not, but usually I'll be up and down the week or so after my TOM ends-hate it, as I seem to work hard at my exercise and keeping track of my eating and the scales go up anyhow-but again, I know it's temporary:) MEL, I have recipes that can be not only SB LEGAL BUT KOSHER TOO! Let me know what you have in mind and I'll see if the book has something to fit the bill-just e-mail me :) Actually, speaking of masseuses, we discussed this briefly along with the idea of the cabin that FROG says she can get sometime next year for a SB get together in NC-hire a good looking guy to come give massages-wouldn't hurt if he came skimpily dressed!;)

BUSDEB, congrats on the wins and for you winning over the temptation of trying that cake-don't you love the way you feel empowered???

FROG, hope you had a good run today-how's your time? Loved reading the how we met story with hubby.

Okay, I'm going to go and start some laundry, gosh knows if we get this storm and have no power like last time (Andrew) we'll be running around naked as a jaybird without clean clothes to wear.

I'll check in with you all later. Hope you are all enjoying the weekend.

Good Saturday Morning Everyone!

It is a gorgeous day here--just begging me to go outside and DO something!

This is an off weekend for Auburn football-so I can sit back and watch the rest of you duke out it today. My Wolfpack plays Duke--but we won't see that on TV so I will just have to wait for the score (too pretty to stay in an listen on the internet).

South Fla gals--I'm thinking about you and hoping y'all don't have to tangle with Michelle! :dizzy: Trust me, I know from hurricanes and y'all do too--she sounds mean this one!

Frog: Congrats on your 1yr SB anniversary! I'd like to hear about the sort of changes SB has brought to your life over the past year!

Sef--The sale sounds like it went well. Yeah--I can't do without the Nature's own. I have a stash of buns in the freezer, but am using them very carefully now!

Bignight--Welcome! I'm glad you are finding success with SB. I've been on this WOE for almost 16 months now--it is a lifetime committment for me! I'm especially glad to hear about the BS dropping! What is the BEST thing you think SB is doing for you?

Mel--last spring I left the university and started my own cunsulting practice. I do political and communication consulting. I will also begin work Monday as the part-time DCE for my church. I also do some free-lance writing. Am supposed to have an op-ed piece in the Mobile Register tomorrow or the next week.THAT's the deadline I made on Thursday!

Deb--I'm staying away from yad sales. Now that I got my house somewhat cleaned out--I need to keep it that way for a while. Beside I came home from the last one with a kitten. Don't neet to do that again!

You florida gals try to stay dry!

It's a beautiful day here in SW LA. I've been washing & hanging out clothes on the line which I have not done in ages, but couldn't pass up the chance.

Yesterday was dh & I's 11th wedding anniversary. We both worked all day, then we went out last night for supper at El Camino's & had chicken fatitas. I didn't eat the tortilas, just turned mine into a salad. I love all the grilled onions & tomatoes they do. It was a lovely evening which did not finish there.

A few years ago when I had gained too much weight, I grew right out of my wedding band & had it in my bathroom. It missed along with several other pieces of jewlry, including dh's HS graduation ring after a certain friend (NOT!) of my daughter's had visited our home. Anyway, I had been without a wedding ring ever since & I kept hinting for dh to buy me a new one. Of course he was out of work for a little over 4 years after that, so we couldn't afford it. Well!!! Guess what I got for an anniversary gift???

Yeap, you guess it! A beautiful diamond ring!

Needless to say that I was so happy & we had a wonderful evening. :o

Well I better get back to the washing & cleaning. See ya!!

Hello all!

Boy, did I have CRAVINGS late last night! I tried the coconut carbolite ice cream, but it was not working! So I scarfed down those peanut butter balls I had made 2 days ago. They calmed the craving, and I was able to stay SB legal, although I probably ate more than I should. :o

Frog - I love your match made in heaven story. :) There are NICE guys out there! Most guys do hit on women if the "date" isn't there. Some hit on them while the "date" IS there. Your DH sounds really special. Congrats on the 9 years together!

Melf- How wonderful about your Anniversary! And a diamond ring to boot. What a fantastic ending to your day!

HI all!! I think I shrunk today. Did a lot of standing and could feel everything slowly collapsing on top of each bone. But it was a good day.

Habitat for Humanity sponsored an antiques appraisal fair. I have a very old clock and took it in. I got there early to beat the rush, also thought it would be cooler  standing in the morning than later in the day.

The appraiser liked the clock and set a value of at least 3,000; so if I need money I know where to get it.

Winn Dixie is having a sale on pork loins for .99, so stopped there on the way home. Had the loin cut into chops and roasts. Of course, I can never go in there without picking up something else. Came home put away the groceries and took it easy the rest of the day.

My dil loved the little dove pin. For her birthday they went sightseeing. They went to Oak Alley, a plantation that has been restored. They said it was beautiful.

In December the YAH group from church is going to Nottaway Plantation. I haven't been to any so far and am looking forward to it.

DEB - YEAH! Send that Chippendale along, I could use a good massage. My dh and I used to give them to each other, not for sexual reasons, just because it felt good. Of course, if one thing led to another that was okay too!! There seemed to be several sales in the area today, but thought I might be pushing myself too much if I went. Dh and I used to love sales and flea markets.

MOMMA - Welcome to the Board, you will have a fine time here. I am looking forward to seeing what my numbers are doing since I've been on SB. Will find out the 13th. Congrats on your loss so far. Mt dr likes SB too.

MELF - Belated Happy Anniversary! A ring, how nice. Guess that's it for now!

Take care. sef

BIG KNIGHT--Welcome to the board. WHERE do you live? In central Florida?? Let us know!

SPARKLE--Where are you??? We’ve missed you and your always interesting posts.

Well, BOB, Fillise, Missy, BusDeb, and some of you others interested in boating as a pasttime--we had a great time on our trip this weekend. We stayed at a friend’s cabin right on the river. It was a beautiful day and we decided to go for a canoe trip. The water was very low and murky, almost like a SWAMP! However, the Itchtucknee is fed by a huge spring, so it flows very rapidly. Nevertheless, we decided to be prepared with a couple of extra sets of paddles, just to keep the “voyage” interesting and challenging. Needless to say, exactly half way through our trip we were moving along so rapidly we decided to bring out the other set of paddles that were nowhere near as good, just to make the ride more challenging. I guess we were just lucky, because the second and even the third set of paddles, as feeble as they were, did just as well and we had a great ride. We met some other folks out for the day also. They came down from Nashville and were having such a hard time that their boat got swamped. Just not used to the Florida waters, I guess. The weather was so beautiful--the temperature was 71 degrees, so all in all it was a perfect day.;)

Foodwise--it was a disaster! I learned never to go unprepared with a snack for long periods of time. We had breakfast a a cute cafe near the river place. Managed fine there with stir fried veggies for breakfast!! I had an additional serving of “steamed” veggies, but that steaming also included heaping a big glop of oil or butter on the vegetables, and I was not expecting that. Furthermore, we had nothing to eat after 10:30 and so by about 5 p.m. I was one hungry animal. We stopped by some friends who were also out for the day and I scarfed down anything and everything just to stop the pains of my stomach beating against my backbone. :( If I had just taken an apple or something I would have been fine until we went out to dinner. Lesson learned, I hope. Tomorrow is another day, so I will pick up and go on! I can add that I did not feel anywhere near as good after eating junk, even though I was ravenous. I also notice that diet drinks just don’t cut it for me. All that sweet syrupy taste doesn’t add to my feeling of wellness. I love sparkling water, but that is not available very often at picnics.

I expect that we may get some rain in the next day or so. We just got home about 1 hour ago, so haven’t checked out the latest forecast. We may get some of Marion (Mable, Mary, Mildred, Murial??? Whatever--it is some storm that begins with an “M”) through here by Monday. Right now it is warm enough to turn on the AC.

Gotta go. Want to catch some scores on TV. Congratulations to all you who had your favorite team win. LSU was winning last I heard. But Alabama is such a classy group, I think a lot of you guys! You’re always FOR you team and not so much AGAINST the other team. Congrats UT, see you won over Notre Dame. YEA!! SolShine, hope the Bulldogs did better this week. Fillise--Auburn has a few hard games ahead of them. Resting up this week may be good for your guys. We have 3 tough games ahead:USC, FSU and UT. Hope the Gators do more than just “show up” like they have a tendency to do every now and then.

Have a good evening, all.

Hello again,

Seems like that easiest time for me to post is late on Saturday night. I have realized that some things have to take a back seat to others, and I know myself. Once I get online I browse for hours, and now that I am going to either water aerobics or step aerobics, their is just not enough time in the day. I think that I am getting better at stepclass, and boy what a workout, a rea good sweat.

Looks like things on this side on FL iw going stay fairly quite, which is just fine with me. I don't have the time to get ready for a she-a-caine right now. I hope that gals on the east coast have as good of luck.

I need to get to bed, almost falling asleep while I am trying to type. Plase know that if I am not post it is not because I am not aroind I do read the posts, it is writing one that I fall shourt on time.

Have a great Sunday

Good Sunday Morning Everyone:wave:

Well, not so good down here. Was all dressed up to try and get in my walk and just as I opened the door to head out, BOOM, the torrential downpours started! It's teaming out there-no chance for a walk, that's for sure. Thought I could beat it even though it looked threatening out there-I thought wrong. I guess I should just be glad I hadn't started out 5 minutes earlier:eek:

The projected path of the hurricane is suppose to keep it to our south, though we are going to get very high winds tonight and tomorrow-that's if it stays on the path forseen, if it doesn't, we'll be in trouble-usually they can tell where the hurricane will go, but we all have to remember, this is nature, something we can't control what will happen. We're just all crossing our fingers that they forecast this one right.

FILLISE, I too need to stay away from the yard sales, I don't need a thing, but it's become part of my Saturday ritual and I'm too old to stop now;) You just NEVER know what goodie you may find. My Mom and my Sister also go out as well-if one is looking for something in particular, we all look. I guess it's just the fun I find in finding things, at a bargain!

MELF, CONGRATS on your new anniversary treasure!! What a wonderful gift he gave you-ahhh, what a romantic! I'm sure you won't be outgrowing your new ring, so no reason to take it off with the chances of it "disappearing" again. Did he find one similar to your old one, or is it a whole new design?

TREE, are you going through a TOM that caused the cravings? Usually, Carbolite won't fix my cravings, just tastes good. Did you like the coconut? I'm waiting til next weekend, the store I go to the most is suppose to have coconut. The PB BALLS, which ones did you make? I ate 2 last night, usually they help when I have a craving. It's the protein in them. When you get a craving, try to increase your protien, or get some protein in you, that usually will help. If you continue to feel like nothing will satisfy you, eat-just make sure what you eat is all SB LEGAL. There are times of the month, usually mid-cycle that I get so ravenous that I can eat 2,000 calories and NOTHING seems to satisfy me-it's all hormonal and usually the next day after a feeding frenzy, it passes and I'm back to normal. I'll overdue it in the carbs dept, but I always make sure they are OP foods that I eat.

SEF, sounds like you had a good day-esp. with that est. on the clock. I love watching the Antiques Road Show when I remember it's on-love seeing what things are appraised at. I don't think I have any great treasures, but do have a few things I'd like to know the value of. I'd love a good body massage. My Mother was going to get my one a few years back for my bday and I declined, I didn't want anyone massaging my fat-even though I have fat now, I'd welcome it a bit more openly. Do you have those HYDRO MASSAGERS in your malls over there? You lie in there and the water massages you (you don't get wet), they are AWESOME! I get out of that thing and I feel like jelly-you MUST try it if you know where one is, or come across one one day-best $$$ you could spend for 10 minutes!

THUNDER, glad you are feeling better, 3-4 months seems ridiculous to have something like that-isn't there anything the Dr. can give you to lessen not only the effects, but the time? Congrats on another pound! are you sure you're eating enough, I worry about you not having an appetite.

LAMAP, sounds like you've been busy with exercise, which is great news! It's nice to find something you enjoy doing and look forward to. Post when you can-it's always nice to hear from you;) Do you think you'll be able to meet us in Orlando this time when FROG comes in?

MUSIC & MEL-I LOVED THE PICTURES YOU POSTED ON THE PHOTO ALBUM BOARD!!!!!:D It's so nice to have a face to put with a name for you both now! Honestly, you both look so slim-wasting away. GALS, make sure you check out the new shots on the board!!

MUSIC, if you don't mind me saying, your face is too slim for those larger glasses, you should treat yourself to a new pair to go with your new look. I have the same problem. I have a pair of reading glasses that I bought when I was heavier-when I put them on now, everyone laughs, and rightfully so-they look ridiculous. I've tried on some small framed lenses, they make me look so different-which is what I'll go for after I get my eyes checked. Loved the family shot too!!!! Kids look adorable! When was it taken??

MEL, LOL, hubby has that look of desire for you in that picture! The dye job isn't all that bad, at least not with what you were wearing! I swear, you look so familiar to me, but I can't put my finger on it. Do people tell you you look like someone familiar? Thanks for posting the pic-loved seeing you, FINALLY!!

Hmmm, the rains don't sound like they are banging at the windows now. I'm going to peek outside and see what's going on. If they've stopped, I'm going to try to go out, as wet as it is. I'll just have to walk instead of jog and replace my water bottle with my mini-umbrella. I'll be surprised if I go out-if not, I'm going to bake something new today. I have a project I need to start working on which I will explain to you all probably tomorrow;)

Please remember, TOMORROW STARTS THE NEW WEEKLY BOARD and it's MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY tomorrow. If you have any words of wisdom, quotes or motivational thoughts, please, try to post them tomorrow!

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone! Please think dry thoughts for us down here in SOFLA! Ooops, it's raining again!

YIPPEEEE!! :spin:

Despite the rain, I went out and got in my 4.5 miles, doing 17 jogs. Don't know my time as I forgot to put on my timer after stopping at a light, not my fastest, for sure, but not my slowest either:) It was sprinkling the entire time but I went out any way. I figured tomorrow would be worse and I didn't want 3 days of no exercise-I feel crappy when that happens.

PLUS, I did end up baking some GINGER COOKIES and eating about half of them:eek: I just couldn't resist. Luckily, I was able to get rid of 10 of them to others-I must of eaten 8-9, and their a pretty good size-still can't get over that I have no willpower with things I make-even if they are SB LEGAL. I made them a bit too thick, but they tasted pretty darn good (as you can see, I had no trouble eating them!) I got rid of the rest, thank goodness, and the results were that they were liked pretty well:) I made them a bit too thick but will try to make them again, a bit thinner, so they'll be more crunchy.

Eli's working today-kids should be going with their Dad in a little while-nothing like him wasting half the day before coming to get them:rolleyes: Not sure what's on the agenda for the rest of the day, don't really have anything that I need to go out in this weather to do, so probably will stay home.

So far, the kids still have school here tomorrow. We'll know for sure about 4pm if that still stands-of course, my kids are hoping not, and to having a 4 day weekend!

I'll check in with you all later. All? I'm the only one on the board today-who am I kidding? Where is everyone?????

I've been lurking this week because it's been so late when I finally get to reading that I'm too bushed to respond when I've read through them.

Congratulations to all the losers this week. I was down 2 pounds myself yesterday even with an especially rough TOM. Has it ever made you nauciated? I've had to force myself to eat something. A sinus infection doesn't help matters. There's something blowing around in the air and there's been no rain for a couple of weeks until today. Maybe the air will clean out and I'll start to feel better.

Just wanted to check in and let you know I'm still around. I spent most of the day and evening yesterday cleaning my DD's room and shampooing the carpets upstairs. And today was our church orchestra practice after the service. There were two violins missing so I was the only one. And I felt very unconfident. At least we have some fairly simple music to play this time. We'll play for our service next weekend and have one more rehearsal at 8 am next Sunday. It's fun and not a lot of extra work since we only play once a month.

Hope everyone has a great week. I'm pooped and think I'll take my Sunday afternoon nap now.

Quickie...

My kids are in hog heaven! They cancelled school down here tomorrow. They didn't want kids waiting ifor the buses n the torrential downpours we're suppose to get along with the heavy rains. Michael was dancing around the house-he was suppose to have a big AP-EURO test tomorrow, now he's got his reprive! The two of them were acting like idiots jumping up and down and screaming with glee!

I don't know why, but they have our area in a MANDATORY EVACUATION ZONE-heck, I'm not leaving for nothing!!! What kind of crap is this???

JRED, CONGRATS on your 2lb loss!:D I definitely get nauseated during TOM and mid-cycle, but, not to sound ridiculous, but as much as I hate getting sick, I also welcome it because 95% of the time, the scale goes down afterwards. Hope your sinuses get better. I'd love to send you some of our rain-we're going to have plenty, so I can share:D

Okay, I'm going back to the kitchen to read the newspaper! I may start the NEW WEEKLY SUPPORT BOARD tonight, just in case we lose power and I can't post it tomorrow-that would be waffle!

Hope everyone gets through the "M" hurricane without a scratch. No school! -Lucky kids! That's so much better than being stuck in school until it calms down! One time in Japan (Misawa, AFB), we had a really bad blizzard. No one in charge would close down the schools. So we walked to school in a blizzard! By the time we got there, they had decided to close the schools. So they gave us hot chocolate, and sent us home --back out into the blizzard!

Thunder- hope you're feeling better. I have year round allergies, so I empathize with you. Have you seen an allergist? They have a lot of new treatments out there now.

Gatorgal- boy do you get around! You sound like you have so much fun! I wish I were more social, but alas, work tends to take up all my time!

Debelli - These cravings! One hit me late, last night too. This time coconut carbolite topped w/ peanut butter (peanut butter ball recipe thinned w/ ff milk) sauce came to my rescue! I've heard that the last part of the cycle (after ovulation) you crave carbs but I think this is PMS. Found this on the web....

http://www.fwhc.org/moon.htm
Sugar craving, fatigue and headaches signify a different type of PMS [versus PMS mood swings]. In addition to sugar, women may crave chocolate, white bread, white rice, pastries, and noodles. These food cravings may be caused by the increased responsiveness to insulin related to increased hormone levels before menstruation. In this circumstance, women may experience symptoms of low blood sugar; their brains are signaling a need for fuel. A consistent diet that includes complex carbohydrates will provide a steady flow of energy to the brain and counter the ups and downs of blood sugar variations.

But if this is true, I should be fine at 40-30-30 C/P/F percentages! :dizzy:

Also found this: http://www.chocolateandcocoa.org/Health/cravings.htm
The menstrual cycle also appears to influence dietary intake and food cravings. There is some scientific evidence that women crave sweet foods in the pre-menstrual and menstrual cycle while fiber intake decreases65. There is, however, also an increase in overall appetite in the pre-menstrual period67/68.
65. Vlitos ALP, Davies GJ. Bowel function, food intake and the menstrual cycle. Nut Res Rev. 1996; 9:111-134. 67. Dalvit SP. The effect of the menstrual cycle on patterns of food intake. Am J Clin Nutr. 1981;34:1811-5. 68. Lissner L, Stevens J, Levitsky DA, et al. Variation in energy intake during the menstrual cycle: implications for food intake research. Am J Clin Nutr. 1988;48:956-62.

Women have it so hard! Not only do we have TOM, but everything associated with it! One of the things WW told us was if you and your DH were doing a diet together, to NOT compete with each other. The guy will always lose more and lose it faster than the gal! NOT FAIR!

Ok, I'll stop venting. :) We tend to eat late, so my cravings showed up about 1-2 hrs after dinner (which had enough protein), so I think it's just PMS. I'll try doing protein if I get them again.

Talk to you all soon.

This will be a quickie!

Hope all you Florida girls are safe. I have room for several if you need to head for higher ground!

Ran yesterday morning and BOY was it hard! I had mafor cramps in my left leg from my hip all the way to my toes. I wasn't hydrated which is a :nono: for me, but I managed to run through it and it subsided after a few miles. I did 7 miles in 1 1/2 hours which is awful (ran 13 in 2.5 hours, including bathroom and beverage stops, a few weeks ago)! I hope to improve on that by the end of the week.

Fillise asked how my life has changed in the past year since beginning SB. What a thoughtful question!

I have learned more about the character of people than anything. I've learned that:
*That my husband loves me no matter how I look, but big or small, he wants me to take care of myself.
*No matter how thick or thin, rich or poor, ugly or pretty you are, people will say things about you behind your back or to your face. (Spewer!) I wasn't prepared to be near people who would try to tear me down. I knew people would/could try to sabotage me, but not the way she tried. But! Success is the best revenge! :smug:
*That when you have to buy new underwear, you KNOW you've lost some weight.
*To remember what you said to yourself when you started SB after you reach a goal and be satisfied with your accomplishments! (I often said that "I just want to look decent in a pair of jeans." But now that I do, I want to be smaller still and since I've plateaued, I have to remember that I have reached many goals and that I do look decent in a pair of jeans! :) )
*That I could lower my cholesterol myself, without medication. I lowered it 68 points in the first 6 months of SB. Will find out next week how it is now.
*That getting rid of clothes that are too big will help you keep your focus. No more slipping back into those jeans that are a little "looser." :s:
*That a group of people that I've never met (except Fillise), can be some of the best friends that I could have. You are there for the successful and unsuccessful days. Thank you!
*That I needed this board and those of you on it to keep me going and to keep me honest. Posting that weight on a weekly basis and seeing it on the screen is important for me to stay on the wagon.

I'm sure there are other self-reflective things I could include, but I think that just about says it all.

Have a great night and stay dry or on the high ground if you're in the wake of "Michelle."

Peace,
Frog

whoops! made it too small- have to fix it tomorrow, I'm too tired now to play with it. It was taken in England last July, probably after a meal consisting of fried whatever, lots of potatoes, and a pint of beer!

Today I couldn't sleep, so got up and lifted weights real early and the rode the stationary bike. Thought that was enough, but Cleo had other ideas and kept dragging her leash to me, so we went for a fast 2.5 mile walk. Then I realized the back yard was knee deep in leaves, so I started in on them. Got the back done, with some help from DH and DS after soccer, but I can hardly stand, I can't wait to climb into bed!

Deb and other S. FLA gals- stay safe! I keep watching Michelle on the news and it looks huge! One of my brothers lives outside W. Palm Beach and said it was pouring there. Anybody live near there?

Deb-I hope you did laundry! I could stop laughing at the idea of you all running around stark naked in the storm cause the washer and dryer didn't work

Frog- Your meditations on what you've learned in the last year ring so true, even tho I'm only at the 3 month point. I'm not sure I'm confident enough yet to get rid of the "big" clothes. Somehow it's comforting to know that they are too big. I have what I call my "bench mark" dress. I bought it for a New Years party 6 years ago after
having starved and run myself to death for 3 months. I was feeling pretty slinky in it then. When I started SB in July, I couldn't even start to zip it, could barely even get into it unzipped Well, I tried it on yesterday hoping that I'd be able to wear it to this year's neighborhood holiday party and tada-- It is too big!. I'm keeping that one in the closet for sure just as a reminder that I don't need to starve (600 cal/day) and exercise 2-3 hours a day to look good! Unfortunately, now I need to go get another dress, and I hate spending money on those "once a year" outfits.

Hope everyne had a good weekend, or at least stayed dry. I'm off to bed, not a baseball fan!

Hi everybody,
This is the third time that I have tried to send this post, it keeps disappearing, I do not know what I have done. Anyway I just want to thank everyone for their warm and friendly welcome. I can tell you all are a great supportive bunch and I am very glad with Debbie's help I found this board.
I had a great legal weekend. Myfamily went to UCF in Orlando for a football game. My son Jeff is a scholarship football player there. They won! He is a redshirt freshman, which means he is on the scout team this year so his scholarship is 5 years! My daughter Sarah has grown up in the stadiums and bleachers of Central Fl.
She is 9, loves dancing, singing , basketball and NSYNC. She is aso a junior girl scout, I am starting to sweat thinking about those girl scout cookies, but with my new way of eating and support from you all which I know I will be needing I can do it!
Bye for now,

Your new friend,
Chris

When I get better on the computer I hope to add all thos cute little icons, I just wish I could figure where my other 2 posts went

Evening All:wave:

Thought I'd get in a post before I hit the hay, early night tonight, the rains are making me sleepy:yawn: There was a while there that the rains had almost stopped, but here they come again, I hear the sweeps of rain blasting the windows. It's suppose to get bad around 1am tonight-hopefully I won't hear a thing with my ear plugs stuffed in the lobes:)

I ate entirely way too much today. Those cookies did me in earlier in the day, then Eli made the eggplant and meat dish, which I alway scarf down more than he does-almost finishing the entire tray! I think I was just plain ol' board today.

TREE, thanks for posting those two articles and the links to the site. I've read many things saying that hormones do play a big part in us having cravings and how chocolate does help. I sure did my part with the chocolate tonight-though it wasn't from cravings-I just ate my way through the day-all SB LEGAL of course, but just too much of good things. Coconut Carbolite with PB? Hmmm, I just can't see that combo, but I guess if you were having a craving...didn't Lucy crave something weird like pickles and ice cream once??? I guess Coconut Carboite and PB doesn't sound so bad when you think of some of the alternatives! What type of proteins are you getting for dinner? If they aren't sustaining you, you may want to make sure you are getting proteins, like beans, that have some staying power. Are you sure you're eating enough as well?

FROG, I loved reading how things have changed for you in the past year. What you said seemed to go for me as well-esp. about people talking behind your back and right to your face-as long as you're happy, who gives a rats *** what they say! I've come to not care, where I use to care a lot of what people said/thought-not any more and I'm a lot happier now. Does buying a new girdle count the same as underwear? And boy, did you hit it right on the head when you said: That a group of people can be some of the best friends that I could have and That I needed this board and those of you on it to keep me going and to keep me honest. Posting that weight on a weekly basis and seeing it on the screen is important for me to stay on the wagon (okay, I tweaked it a little from what you said, but the sentiments are the same).

MEL, you definitely look tiny in that picture! LOL! I'm about an hour and 45 minutes from the WPB Island. My Aunt and Uncle live there, not too far from THE BREAKERS HOTEL. That's where we will be heading for Thanksgiving, up to WPB. Oye, I hope you didn't visualize me running around naked, that would be more of a nightmare!

BIGK, congrats to your son for winning his game-you definitely can see you're a proud Mom! Congrats for staying OP over the weekend. Hey, don't worry about those GS Cookies, I'm sure they won't be calling your name. Just think of them as I do Hershey bars-they were around before I was, they'll probably be around long after I'm gone-so you can't have them now, doesn't mean you won't be able to in the future:) Oh, and that disappearing post-we've ALL had that happen to us one time or another. I learned it's harder to lose a post when you type it in like an e-mail you're going to send and then copy it to post-I don't lose mine unless my computer up and locks on me, which luckily doesn't happen all that much. Thanks for posting your BIO on the BIO BOARD-it was nice to learn more about you!!!:D

Okay, I'm outta here for the night! Please remember tomorrow starts the NEW WEEKLY SUPPORT BOARD! I'm going to start it tonight, JUST IN CASE, but won't post the link on this board until tomorrow, if you don't see the link, that will mean no power, but I doubt that will happen.

Have a good one!

Since it is late, I hope Frog and Bigk's Momma read this before the new board goes up tomorrow--

Frog--I enjoyed reading your meditations on the past year. It is a real treat to get rid of the too big clothes! When it comes down to it this WOE is really about learning to bee good to one's self. Before I started SB that meant food anytime and in any quantity. Now it means food that is good for my body and spirit! What a difference!

BigK's Momma--I hope that you will find the GS cookies not so much of a problem this year. Have you noticed that you don't want sweets like you did before SB? When you get the sugar out of your system--it really does take your taste for sweets away. If you happen to put something sweet in your mouth--chances are it won't even taste good--all you will taste is the sugar--and it will no longer be appealing.

See everyone on the new board tomorrow!

You South florida gals--try to stay dry!

Susan
