Okay, I don't like him but my kids do -- so -- Tony Stewart
I like Carl Edwards -- doubt he'll win!! So, I guess I don't use educated guesses, just who we think are cool!!

Hope you pick good snacks for the race everyone!!

DH roots for Jeff Gordon. He's a big, big fan. When he was racing vintage Mustangs a few years back, he used the number 24 because of Jeff Gordon.
DD is a fan of Mark Martin.
DS doesn't really care.
I just watch to see who wrecks. We used to have some Nintendo game of NASCAR racing and all I remember from that was when there was a wreck, the announcer would say "Thar goes a Tiar." (Sorry, hard to make that Southern accent while writing.) So whenever there is a wreck, I get to say, "Thar goes a Tiar."

A lot of cheating going on ~

Allison, our family raced bikes...but my first car was a1967 Mustang 390 automatic ~ I bought it used when I was 15 and a half for $2,000 with a little over 2,000 miles. Boy I sure wish I still had that one!!

I'll have to find a photo of DH's mustang--it was a '66 350 fast back. I have one photo that has him and his friends and their cars at a race. I'll look for it and scan it in later today.

I went shopping, so I don't know what is going on with the race, but here are photos of DH's old racing Mustang.

Well, quite a heartbreak loss for Mark Martin, but Harvick came on STRONG! didn't he? Thought Martin was finally gonna win Daytona, thought they were gonna throw the yellow...but they let them finish as it should be.

ALLISON ~ Great pictures. The picture of my "racing Mustang" are in storage...plus I wouldn't have a clue how to use Angie's scanner, but I did google it and found pictures just like my old '67 GTA 390 Mustang. Now the racing I did was on a long street by the Women's Club building...we were 16 -18 years old...but we were safe...we had guys at each end of the road to keep any traffic off, which would have been rare since there was no other building on that road and we raced late at night...totally sober! We thought we were safe! STUPID-STUPID-STUPID!

I am sending a picture of the convertible...I made mine one by rolling it! It didn't look as good as this one! I hadn't even turned 16...but that's another story...happened on Superbowl Sunday when Joe Namath won!

Gary~DD kept thinking that she'd be driving the Mustang when she got her license!!! Ha Ha! It wasn't street legal by the time DH and his crew got done with it. I felt bad about that. I drove it once, but never got it out of first gear (we were at Sears Point--what's it called these days?--up in Sonoma and I was driving it in the pits, so I couldn't go fast). It was a fun car, though.

Not a good idea to make your car convertible by rolling it!!! We've been thinking of taking DD to a defensive driving course for her safety. She's pretty safe now, but if she takes one of these courses, she'll know how to handle tricky situations. DH did a couple courses in Arizona at the Bonderant School. I know they have them at every major speedway, so Fontana would be much closer (but we could visit friends if we go to Arizona). Thankfully, when DH was racing he knew to do it on a closed track. We went to a lot of neat tracks--Sears Point, Laguna Seca, LV Motor Speedway, a couple in Arizona, and several others in points north in California.

Spent a few week-ends at Laguna Seca watching bikes...many years ago! In the early 70's!

You can NEVER be too safe driving a car as you know...in my defense I wasn't even 16 yet...and had one arm in a cast...but the biggest problem was...well...SHOWING OFF! STUPID-STUPID!

I raise my nephew ~ he is ADHD ~ he is 16 and we are working on his drivers ed hours! SCARY!!!
