With the exception of Toby Keith--I actually have all the above but currently I am listening to a variety of my fave songs on LimeWire. It's ironic that you are listening to James Taylor and "Your so Vain" by Carly Simon is playing here!!

Love Toby Keith........had to share this funny pic! This is my oldest ferret, Feesha, and we were trying to get a good picture of her. I didn't even pay attention to what my hubby was wearing until after I took the picture:D He got the shirt at Toby's concert last Feb! Ended up not being a very good pic of Feesha, but was too cute to delete.

At the moment it's the soundtrack from "Mad Hot Ballroom." I also tend to love 60s, 70s and 80s stuff. The disco/party music from the 70s & 80s really motivates me to shake my booty. :carrot: But that's what it was made for. :D Although...I did a pretty mean Jagger imitation the other night to "Jumpin' Jack Flash." :p No wonder Mick's so skinny. :p From today's songs (of which I know very little), I really like "Crazy" (Gnarls Barkley) and Shakira's "Hips Don't Lie."

Didn't you just love the PS 115 kids? Weren't they great? And it wasn't just one or two kids on the team that did well, they were ALL good. Sometimes I watch just their dances because I enjoyed them so much...and the music is great, too. I wanted to watch again the other night and couldn't find my DVD, only an empty case. :( Now I have to hunt for it, lol. :o

Lowstars also has a MySpace (www.myspace.com-lowstars) and you can hear 4 full length songs off the cd. I just love these guys. Check them out.

hmmm...do ipods count? LOL...don't think i've bought a cd since i got my ipod 3 years ago. So as for music...i have a ton and just put it on shuffle. Very wide range weird diverse selection...the only thing you won't find is country. One minute it will be heavy such as marilyn manson or tool, then on to jimmy buffet, then on to gypsy kings (latin), then on to show tunes such as chicago or phantom, then onto rock like Pink or shakira. My latest itune downloads were Pinks new album....several songs are great for working out to or just jamming in my surgery suite, also download some new stone sour and a few jason marz that i didn't have. So as you can see....VERY VERY ECLECTIC. I think it keeps my ADHD happy...lol.

Oh, man. These music questions keep popping up, and every time I feel like a weirdo. Here are the 10 CDs in my (borrowed) car. Chosen just yesterday when I left my stupid broken betrayer of a car with my mechanic father so he can work some miracles.

1. Bob Dylan- Blood on the Tracks
2. M.I.A.- Arular
3. Pixies- Surfer Rosa
4. Ratatat- Classics
5. Brian Eno- Here Come the Warm Jets
6. Van Morrison- Moondance
7. Talking Heads- Stop Making Sense
8. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah- Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
9. Rufus Wainwright- Want One
10. David Bowie- Aladdin Sane

And if that wasn't bad enough, I've also got about twenty CDs full of Doctor Who Audio Adventures. Because I'm a geek. Seriously. A geek who is a little in love with Paul McGann.

My tape deck has a Starpoint cassette in it (Object of my Desire)

I was cleaning out some boxes from my son's bedroom closet and found a whole bunch of cassette tapes, just had to see if they were still good. Most of them were. I found artists like Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam, Karyn White, Elton John, Iron Maiden, Santana, Curtis Stiger.... it's been a major trip down memory lane with the previously unused tape deck feature on my car stereo

At least I see the title of this thread refers to "CD player". I haven't yet progressed to downloading and don't see when I ever will (I hardly ever use the computer at home and don't know if it would be capable of downloading, we got it used).

Call me cubic, but doesn't anybody listen to classical music or Broadway stuff anymore? My most recent listen at home was Death and Transfiguration (Giuseppe Sinopoli/Staatskapelle Dresden); for automotive listening, I currently have Henry Mancini's greatest hits (Erich Kunzei/Cincinnati Pops) and Leroy Anderson's g.h. (Arthur Fiedler/Boston Pops), and I also have a bunch of Kunzel disks of movie themes (Batman, The Terminator ...) waiting in my queue. (I never really got into rock)

I did have Dave Brubeck in my player for a while, along with others like Andrea Bocelli and Josh Groban, the soundtrack for Les Miserable and the Phantom of the Opera... it all depends on my moods. Right now I have a whole bunch of Christian worship CD's loaded, mostly because my son enjoys singing along (they do that in school) and they soothe me. I once had the soundtracks for all four Harry Potter movies loaded at the same time

Of course my musical tastes vary widely. I'm just as likely to have an old AC/DC or Iron Maiden CD loaded along with my Pavarotti.

Spiny -- you have an Iphone??? Do tell! How is it?

My car cd player is currently loaded by DH with mostly Phish shows, Grateful Dead, and the newest Bob Dylan cd. Oh, and one of DH's band's cds for good measure. I'm getting ready to change all that out though. Will post when I do.

The iPhone is great!
In one way I am about the least likely person to get it, because it is called an iPHONE and I hardly ever talk on a phone. But in another way it is perfect for me because I like being efficient and now I have notepads, maps, email, web browser, phone, music, watch, camera all on one little gizmo instead of having to get a bunch of little gizmos. I haven't had a cell phone in 3 years and I didn't have an iPod, or even a watch and I was always scribbling notes on wadded up pieces of paper. So this is a great change for me. I'm especially impressed with the quality of the camera feature, for being just a phone camera it's pretty darn good.
