I will be your valentine. You were a total inspiration to me today on the "alternate reality" post.
Happy V-Day to you my dear.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

What a change from this Valentine's Day to last year's....

Last year...I normally would have gone through a few bags of Valentine candy kisses by now. (I did have a particular brand of chocolate yesterday after lunch that I could've gotten carried away on and I actually threw it outside in the garbage.)

Last year...I baked goodies for my son's class after eating and stashing some for myself.

Last year...I would've been upset if I didn't get my obligatory box of chocolates from my family.

Last year... I waited for the after Valentine's Day sales so I could buy the leftover goodies half off.

Last year...The rest of February was spent in a chocolatey, sugary, food fog hangover.

This year...I got cute jammies from my hubby for Valentine's Day (that I won't be too sick from sugar to wear for him), a spiritual book "The Secret" and NO chocolates.

This year...I bought my son a few little toys in lieu of candy.

This year...Instead of baking for the kids in his class I bought fun tattoos.

This year...When shopping down "the dreaded Valentine's aisle" I eyed the boxes of chocolates and felt a little mourning but quickly moved on.

This year...Instead of being in a food fog the rest of the month, I'm training and going shopping for gear for a snow shoe expedition I'm going on next week.

This year...Instead of feeling guilty for not keeping yet another New Year resolution, I'm downloading training programs for the 8K race I signed up for in June.

This year...I'm working program, meeting new friends, starting a new business, learning new ways to cope and be free from food even through rough and trying days.

I'm so grateful.

Please share how this holiday is different for you

xoxo
Charlene
