Default WW scale question from a Newbie

Hi all, I have a WW scale, its the opaque white one (not the glass one) that can save weights for up to 2 people. My problem is this: it weighs me 10 pounds heavier than my regular dial scale when it is set to 0 before I get on. It seems to work the way it is supposed to, you tap the WW scale with your foot, it says 0.0 and you get on. But consistently each time, it weighs me 10 lb higher than the other. A while ago my husband was using it after having had gastric bypass and he was really too heavy for the scale. Could that have broken it but allowed it to still look like it works? I don't really have the money to go out and buy another right now just to find out, but I have been stalled for a long time and I think that maybe eating too many points because I think im 170 as opposed to 160 may be the problem. I didn't think I was supposed to drop down to 20 pts until 150 anyhow. Im very confused, any advice is appreciated. Thanks
Romena

I would take an item you whose weight you are certain of and put it on the scale.Flour sugar etc.If the scales doesn't give the right amount then you will have your answer.
