Myra, we must have been posting at the same time. Here's my post from page 2.

Hi Buddies,

Terri, what cute tomatoes!!!! Let me know how you like the movie. Bruce will be in my prayers tonight. He'll have an right next to him.

Myra, I've been saying I have to make the veggie soup for the past 3 months. It's so good & so easy to make. I 've just been too lazy to make it WTG!! Great way to start your week!

Zoe, nice to rearrange furniture every now & then whether it's at home or at the office. I think I would have done the same thing, to get it over with today instead of tomorrow. You know how Mondays are, hectic to begin with. Good goin Sounds like you have some putter. What ever that means I don't know anything about golf.

Jen, I missed the concert. I was watching a very good movie then I went to sleep right after that. I turned in around 10:00. Sorry I missed it

I had a great day today. We went to church. The sermon was on how to conquer fear!! It was awesome. I felt so blessed when I walked out of there. Then my brother suggested we all go to the Chinese Buffet, kids & all. We had such a good time. His little chatter box 7 yr. old daughter sat next to me.

Well my friends, till tomorrow.

Hugs to all,
Es

Essie,

I must confess I was pushed into it by the fact that my CSA gave me this HUGE head of cabbage that I had no room for. I've been planning to make it for a while myself. Finally did it.

Myra, thanks for the reminder about the WW veggie soup. It's autumn, a great time to start the soups again, and it's definitely a good one.

Terri, God will keep Bruce safe. I can't say I blame you for being worried. I worry whenever Joe travels; now things are intensified. He'll be fine.

A quiet day today, no grandsons here to visit; they had their pumpkin/halloween family outing this weekend.

Happy Monday:)

Brand new week. I have to drink lots of water today to flush out the sodium from the chinese food I had yesterday.

Jen, I enjoy my quiet times. Halloween is next week so I have to start buying candy. I figured I would wait till the last minute so I wouldn't be tempted.

Myra, that's another reason why I hardly ever make the soup, cause I have all this leftover cabbage. Someone suggested to buy the cabbage that comes in a bag. You pay a little more but it's just enough for the soup.

Gotta go.

Be back later.

Have a great OP day:wave:

Bruce is in Houston right now. He has to wait an hour to get on the next plane. They searched everything. Took apart his luggage and everything. They do it randomly. Thanks for your prayers.

YAY BEARS!!!

Es,
Glad you had such a nice Sunday. I'll bet that little girl talked your ear off.
I have to make the soup too. LOVE IT!!!!

Diane & Essie,
Forgive me for the confusion. I will never make that mistake again. Sorry!! But what I said was sincere. I do hope that Ellen and I can be close when she is grown. I have tried to be close to my mother and she just refuses to stop being my mommy. It is very frustrating at times, she is a very controlling person. I hope I don't repeat all of her mistakes.

Terri,
COngratulations on your loss. I know how you feel when it is that TOM. I have been plotting my weight loss (I am a scientist after all) and I have noticed that every 4to 5 weeks there is a week with either no change or a small gain. I am sure you can figure out what that is correlated with. Oh well we 40 somethings won't have to deal with that too much longer.

Everybody,
DId all of you get to see the concert this weekend? I wish I had but we dont have cable. It sounds like it was great.

I hope everyone is healthy. Ellen was sick with a slight fever on Friday and I was sick over the weekend. Not so sick that we had to stay in bed all day, but just not quite up to normal.

I am so excited about the Yankees!!! Can you believe it. I know baseball doesn't really mean anything in the grand scheme of things, but I really think NY needs to win the World Series this year. They need something to celebrate!!

Have a wonderful monday,
JanieD

Hi everyone!

Boy you guys are fast..I barely had time to read thread 82.

My husband & I are still trying to catch up on things here at home. He usually works at home doing materials estimating. But it has been really slow so he's working part time at a resort in New Braunfels. So our whole schedule has been topsy turvy.

From the posts I've read it sounds like everyone is doing great. I still need to re-read the posts about attachments. I want to learn how to do that.

Since the weather has cooled off here it has really energized us to do a bunch of outside work. I've also been doing windows on the house.

I'm starting back on program today. Lot's of water and journaling.
Tomorrow is my weigh in. I guess I'll see how I did over the last 3 wks. of not being on program.

I've got to run. Have a great day everyone!

I hope we don't have to wait to long to be able to not worry about TOMs but a new set of stuff will happen I am sure. My mom started going through menopause in her early 40's. Wonder if I will?
Thanks for the congrats! I am excited about the Yankees and I am so happy the Braves are out. Can't stand them.
Sorry if there are any Braves fans reading. :o
I hope you and your baby girl are better. I hate when the kids are sick. I just want to cuddle them all day. Even Britts. Even though she is taller than me. LOL

Joyce,
Good luck with weigh-in. You will be fine.

Hello my buddies

Janie - No problem on the confusion with David. I'm sure I'd be proud to be his mom, but I think Es would prefer to keep that job:lol: I do, however, have a great relationship with my beautiful daughter, Alana! I know what you mean about relationships with moms and daughters, though. I don't have a relationship at all with my mom, I was raised by my nana. So, I guess that makes me appreciate my relationship with Alana even more. Janie, I'm excited about the yanks too, and you're right - NY does need some celebrating right now. But truth be told, whether they win or not, we have quite a lot to be proud of the way the city has come together.

Terri - congrats on the loss - way to go. Glad that Bruce arrived safe and sound.

Es -You're right to wait until last minute to buy that halloween candy-the longer it sits in my house, the more I hear it calling to me.
D I A N N E.........come and eat me!

Jen - congrats on the win for the Bears!

Myra - I have never tried the ww vegetable soup - is it good?

Hi Joyce - good luck with the "starting over".

Well, went to visit Alana this weekend, but didn't get to do any of the "family activities" they scheduled, since Alana had us "shop til we drop". We bought her a frige, microwave and rug, not to mention all the "personal hygiene stuff" an 18 year old young woman needs:lol: Then yesterday morning we took her and her roomate to brunch. That was cool. It was good to see her. Now, I won't get another fix until Thanksgiving:^:

Wow, did I just write a novel or what:o That's cause I was missing in action for a couple of days, now I have diarrhea of the mouth:lol:

Talk to you soon,

Hugs,
Dianne

Hello my friends  ~ another Monday gone.....whew! I really dislike Monday but when it's done, the rest of the week is all downhill.

Es ~ I am so glad that I went into work on Sunday to finish up that move. It was so nice to be able to just walk in there this morning and 'get to work'. Well, I really didn't 'get to work' since my surroundings were different and I didn't know where I was. Ha! Anyway, I put my new trophey for "Best Putter" in my office with the one from last year. I suppose I should wonder how I do it cuz I'm not a golfer either.

Dianne ~ I remember when we were talking about how upset I was that my son was moving out and you were thinking about your wonderful Alana going off to college.....now I'm almost used to Chris being gone from the house and you're out buying Alana a fridge. I know how you feel......just think of the wonderful visit you'll have in Novemeber. :D

Terri ~ I'm glad the Braves are out too!! As for you worrying about Bruce, I know how you feel. Greg has to be out of town every weekend in October and this last one he left Saturday around noon and just got home about an hour ago. This was one of the worst times. I felt so lost and for some reason, I worried more this time. I know that Bruce will be fine and you'll be happy to see him when he gets back.

Joyce ~ if you need any help on the attachment thing, just ask. As you can see, we have become attachment fools and I love it!!

Hi Jen, Janie and Myra. Hope you're all well too.

Have a great evening Y'all. Talk to you's tomorrow.

Hi everyone,
Just checked the score, the Yankees are winning 9 to 0! Congrats to all you Yanks fans. :D

I don't care for cooked cabbage, so I use the "old" WW veggie soup recipe; it's from the points system, but was the one before the cabbage addition. I love that soup! The first time I made it (about 4 years ago) I brought it to work and my co-workers were going nuts raving about it.

Too many posts to try to catch up after only one day! Just know that you're all in my thoughts, and I love to read all the messages from everyone. :D

Tomorrow is my son Joey's "golden" birthday, he'll be 23 on the 23rd. How those years have flown by! My baby..........
We'll take him out for dinner tomorrow; his choice is a fondue restaurant nearby that we haven't tried yet. Good thing we don't like food fried in oil, we'll be having the chicken broth fondue....at least it won't be that bad.

later.......

Dianne,
Thanks so much . Glad your weekend with Alana was fun. I can't imagine when Brittany leaves.

Thanks so much Patti. Your words comforted me tonight. I feel really weird this time. I guess it won't ever be as easy as it once was. Everything is so unpredictable now. Greg and Bruce will be fine. Bruce got to Los Angeles and had to go staright to a meeting. He called me from the plane as soon as it landed. He didn't want me to worry a second longer than I had to. That was the best phone call. Thanks so much.
I love the "best Putter" story. Show that baby off. That is so

Goodnight everyone!

Hi Guys:

Jen - Yes, thanks for the congrats on "my yanks":smug: They were truly amazing. What I couldn't get over and what made me feel so good last night was how the Seattle fans reacted when the yankees won. They were clapping and cheering and going crazy. I think they were sad for themselves but happy that NY won after everything that happened last month. They (the Seattle fans) were really "classy". Happy Birthday to Joey, Jen. Hope he has a great one!

Zoe - yes, I remember how we talked about Chris leaving home and Alana going to school. Seems like so long ago to me now. Don't know if I'll every get used to it, since I've seen her 4-5 times in the 2 months she's been away:lol:

Hi Terri, Es, Janie, Joyce and Myra -- I want to try the ww vegetable soup but without cabbage -- someone please tell me how they make it. I know its in the book but I want to know from you guys who've already tried it:D

Went bowling last night - won 2 out of 3 -- not bad, especially since there were only 2 on our team with 2 absent. I love it!

Talk to yous later.

Hi Buddies,

I had such a difficult time trying to post yesterday. I got frustrated & gave up. It had soemthing to do with AOL.

Dianne, Pete wanted me to stay up & watch the game but I was too tired. I knew they could do it!!!:D

Terri, I told you Bruce was going to be fine. He had those  with him;)

Jen, Happy Birthday to Joey. The years do fly by. I wish I could do it all over again.(Dave as a baby)

Zoe, I don't like Tuesdays for some reason. I never did. At work the day drags. Doesn't matter how busy I am. After Tuesday is done with, I'm happy:D

Till tomorrow:wave:

Hey there Y'all ~ I'm just getting settled in for the night. We ate left overs tonight, nothing much. Did I mention that I have resorted to buying this stuff that you take before bed, at least 3 hours after eating, to "melt away the pounds".???? Come on now Patti, be real, huh? It's now TOM and I am feeling alot of pain in my lower back and my stomach which I don't usually feel so I'm so tired tonight............

Jen ~ Happy B-day to Joey!! 23....?? is this your 'baby'? My baby is 21, will be 22 in March. When he moved out, I was devastated. Now that he's been gone for 7 or so months, I still am so obsessed with him. He went to Austin Saturday night to see his girlfriend who is in college there (it was their 2 yr anniversary) and I was looking for him Monday ~ no answer on his cell phone, just his voice mail. I must have called 50 times!! He called me around 6pm while I was paying in the grocery store and when I got out to the car and hung up...(he just got home and his phone battery went dead while he was gone), I broke down and sobbed. I was angry that he didn't call but so relieved that he was ok. I thanked God over and over for him being okay and then I realized why I haven't had a baby when I was trying the last 15 yrs......I would suffocate another child! I'm so bad with Chris and I see now that I'd be so obsessed with another one at this point that they would never have a life!!
(was I rambling there?????)

Terri ~ Greg got home 2 hours early last night, while I was making him a surprise dinner. He will be leaving again this weekend, back on Monday and then off again for 2 more days. I know what you mean about all the traveling now but like I said, I just know they'll be fine through it all. Its US who aren't. :)

Dianne ~ My daughter would beg to differ with you about YOUR YANKS. Ha!! She is a die-hard Yankee fan and I must admit, that after my Texas Rangers, I love 'em too. After all, I am a "Jersey Girl" and orginally from the NY/NJ metro area. How 'bout we share 'em?? :D

Es ~ Well, now that you mention it, once WEDNESDAY is over, that's when I am smiling. :D

Hi to everyone else. Have a great night.

Hi everyone!

Glad to hear everyone is doing okay.

Terri - My BIL & SIL just flew in from Paraguay. He got through fine but she was randomly searched. It took a long time, my BIL was very frustrated.

Jen - My daughter turns 21 on March 21st. I never heard of a "golden birthday".

I warned my daughter that she would be my baby no matter what age she was. We are very close, although there were some really rough times around 16-17.

Weigh in went really well. I lost ........ {{{{4.6 lbs.}}}}!!!! :D
I only have 8/10 to get another sticker for my 1st 10#'s. I'm going to try really hard for next week.

Well I've got to go. My husband is expecting a phone call.

Take care everyone.

Joyce! Way to go! great loss :D Hope your visit with your BIL and SIL is fun. I first heard of the golden bday years ago....after I passed mine on the 23rd, though! Yes, the teenage years with my daughter were rough also. Give me boys anyday :) Jessica and I get along very well now, but she was quite headstrong and difficult to live with!

Zoe, I can completely understand what you went through with not hearing from your son. When Jessica decided she knew everything and moved out at the age of 18 I cried myself to sleep every night not knowing what she was doing (she was living in a not so good neighborhood too). That's why I'm more than okay with Joey still living at home with us. He's got a good head on his shoulders, no drugs, and we truly enjoy each other's company. As long as he's here I don't have to worry!

Dianne, congrats on the bowling wins. I've been on leagues a few times, and would like to resume it. Always had fun and met new people.

Terri, glad to hear that Bruce's trip is going well and safely. When does he return home? My prayers are with him.

Joyce,
Congratulations on your magnificent loss!!! 4.6# that is great. You must tell me your secret! The only way that i would loose that much in a week is if I were sick.

Jen,
Happy birthday to Joey. I hope that the Fondue was yummy. I haven't been to a Fondue resteraunt since I was in Geneva. I bet it was delicious.

DIanne, & Zoe/Patti,
You are all going to have to stand in line behind me for the Yankees. I am a third generation Yankee fan. My dad was born in the Bronx. They are such a great bunch of guys and cute too. I love the way the guys never take sole credit when interviewed. They always share the spotlight with the whole team. No primadonnas.

Everyone,
Well I weighed in this morning and I lost 3#. I know that is partly because I was sick over the weekend but I'll take it. Yesterday I hiked for 3 miles with Ellen's school trip to the Sunol Widerness. It was a beautiful day. The temp was about 70 with a slight breeze. Just perfect for hiking. Then later I did my regular 2 miles around the neighborhood. I now have a big blister on my little toe but it was worth it.

Do any of you have any good recipes for green tomatos? In our garden, the tomato plants still have many fruit but I think that it is getting too late in the season for many more of them to ripen.

Cheers,
JanieD

Now, now Janie, share your yankees:lol: They are great guys! congrats on your loss - nothing shabby about 3 lbs;)

Jen - Did you enjoy dinner yesterday? I meant to tell you guys that on the way home from seeing Alana, we stopped at this restaurant in Harriman, NY (Myra- you may know this one)called Gasho of Japan. We've been seeing the sign for years every summer traveling upstate camping. Anyway, it was really cool, it's the one where you sit at a table with other people you don't know and the chef cooks the food right there in front of you. The chefs were very funny, trying to sing "who let the dogs out", etc. They were even throwing food into the kids mouths. It was my first experience, I enjoyed it.

Hi to Es, Terri, zoe/patti, joyce and Myra - good luck on weigh in tonight, you've been doing soooooooooo well;)

Talk to you later gaters,

Just popping in to say hello!

Janie - Congrats on your loss. My loss was not for just one week though. It was over a 3 wk. period of time. I missed my WW meetings. NO I don't think I could do 4.6 in just one week anymore. I'd like to. No secret either. I was just so busy I did not have time to eat and was moving constantly.

Diane - That restuarant sounds like fun.

I'm really tired today. Think I'll take it easy. Yesterday I had to drive to Seguin (east) then go to San Antonio (west) to take care of some business. Did not get home until 5:15 which gave me 15 minutes to change and get ready to leave for my WW meeting at 5:30. Whew! Did not get home until 7:15. Then I had to heat up supper for DH & myself and clean the kitchen. It's been like this for the entire month. I'm finally getting tired.

I tried a great baked apple recipe out of the Sept/Oct WW magazine. It was really good and a half an apple was only 2 pts. I'll try to post it for you'll later.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Wow! it's getting hard to keep up with you guys.

Joyce, great job;) 4.6 is almost 5!! WTG. A long long time ago I lost 7 lbs. in a week. I couldn't believe it. I made them weigh me twice. I do remember that week I had cut back on carbs. I'd like to try that apple recipe. I'm not too crazy about apples so maybe that's one way I'll enjoy it.

JanieD, congrats on your 3 lb. loss. You & Joyce are rockin this week:cool: I'm a Bronx Girl. I came to Long Island in my early 20's.

Jen, when David was living at home & would go out weekends, I couldn't sleep till I heard him walk in the door. Till today when he tells me he's going to A Club I worry.

Zoe, melt away the pounds? You are too funny. Hope you're feeling better.

Joyce ~ WTG!! Great job on losing 4.6 lbs! You have to be so proud of yourself. Keep up the good work. :) hope you're feeling good and not so tired today. Don't over do anything.

Dianne ~ planning your holiday party already? Wow...but I love Christmas and it's my favorite time of year. I tend to start my decorating early. Loved your wreath!
