WW Clubs and Groups - Thursday Chatters for February

View Full Version : Thursday Chatters for February

02-02-2007, 10:15 PM

Anyone is welcome to post! We always enjoy hearing from new people.

Tammy, how are you feeling?

Tina, my dad is doing better. Still in pain and has lots of swelling. His dr. put him on lots of direutics and he has to see her again on Tuesday. He might have to go into the hospital to help get the swelling down. The urologist said things are progressing like it should. How is your shoulder?

Dee, know you are in my prayers!!!! We are hear for you!

Amy, how is that new car?

Mimi , are you still around? We miss you!

02-03-2007, 03:39 PM
Tina, Kramer does not like going outside, but he doesn't have much choice. We have a long leash hooked up right outside the back porch, so we just hook him up at the porch door and he is on his own. He doesn't stay out long. I wouldn't either. Tonight the wind chill is supposed to be -10 to -20 below. I don't even think I'm going to church in the morning. Just too cold.

Susan, I'm feeling ok, but pretty sore with the colder temps. I've taken several naps this week after taking pain meds. I know the meds are part of the problem with me not losing, but the biggest problem is ME!!

Glad to hear that your dad is doing better. Keep us posted. How is school going? I had a couple of girls in tears on Friday when they realized that I'm leaving the end of this month. I promised to come back and visit.

Met my friend Carol for lunch today. We had so much fun. We always do. Melissa couldn't make it, so we decided to talk about her. lol We're both going to email her and tell her that.

Bob is planning tacos for supper. I have my journal and WW info out to figure everything out. I watched at lunch since I knew that's what we were having.
I had a WW muffin for breakfast.

02-03-2007, 04:15 PM
Thanks for starting us off, Susan. These months are flying by faster and faster. I'm glad your dad is doing better.
Tammy, send me a couple of those tacos!
I haven't journaled today. For breakfast, I fixed French toast with egg substitutes, r.c. bread and skim milk and lite syrup. For lunch, we had Subways. Larry is grilling burgers tonight. Does that sound pretty healthy?

02-03-2007, 05:39 PM
Sounds healthy to me!! I'll put a couple tacos in the mail for you. (Wouldn't that be disgusting to receive in a few days?)

02-06-2007, 02:17 PM
Where is everyone?????

Tammy, are you snowed in up there? If so, I wish you had some of my weather. We are finally have SUN!!!!! And, it's 67 right now. (Don't mean to gloat. :) )

Maureen, how is your weather? Doing any roller blading lately?

02-06-2007, 04:50 PM
Tina, it started snowing a couple of hours ago, and it isn't letting up. Expecting 4 inches of snow, but with the wind it is going to be causing some drifting. Today is actually warm! It's 14 degrees right now!!! The windchill has been -25 to -30 below, so we didn't have school yesterday or today. I need to thank the superintendent for giving me some "snow days" before I retire. Wasn't that nice of him? If it keeps up, we may be closed or on a delay tomorrow. I won't be there either way because I went for my knee injections today.

I ended up only having the right knee done because someone that you all know and love had a drop in BP. It dropped to 90/60, so they stopped. I have to go back for the left knee in a couple of weeks. When I had the out-patient eye surgery last year a similar thing happened, only the BP dropped to 60/40. That one scared me a little bit more than this one. Glad Bob was driving especially when we walked out of the building and it had been snowing.

I'm jealous that you have sun and are warm!!!
I think it's naptime.

02-06-2007, 11:46 PM
No school tomorrow! 3 days in a row!! That means I save another sick day for my severence pay check in March! Woo hoo!!

I ended up sleeping for about 30 minutes, then decided to get up and read. I just finished High Calling by Evelyn Husband, the widow of the Space Shuttle Columbia commander. It was an awesome book, and I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

We had a very exciting supper! Shrimp!! Like shrimp cocktails! We love them, and Bob bought a bag of shrimp at Wal-Mart. We had shrimp, cocktail sauce, salad, and crackers. Yummy!! I could do that about once a week. When I told Tim what we were having when he called, he wanted to know if we could have it again this weekend since he is coming home. He wasn't supposed to come home until the last weekend of the month, but he and Jess decided since they aren't working this weekend they would. I'm thrilled of course!!

Hope everyone is behaving themselves. I am as usual.

02-07-2007, 10:27 AM
Hi girls!

Still sane. Barely.

was 57 degrees this morning, but warming up.:p

I bet tammy would be at 100% if she moved to florida. ;)

Family life is settling down. I take another test today for my job. I really didn't get a chance to study for this one, please cross your fingers, eyes, legs....for me.

I haven't thought about my weight in a while. It has been a nice break. Usually I am consumed with it. I hope not to be ever again (like that is really possible). I will get on be wagon again here soon. As soon as I get everything else back together.

How different is the new WW? Did that start yet? I am looking into a new exercise routine when I find out more I will share it with you all.

Can't stay on, got to attempt to look at my books. Talk to you soon.

02-07-2007, 10:50 AM
Dee, it's so good to hear from you. Glad you are still with us. :-)
Tammy, all I can say is BRRRR.....
Susan, where are you?
I miss all our friends who haven't posted in some time.
Wish everyone was here today. It will be 74 degrees.

02-07-2007, 05:29 PM
Dee, when we are in Georgia and Florida, I really do feel much better. Good to hear from you. It's funny because I was thinking about giving you a call to say hello and to check on you. The new WW isn't really that different. The number of points you get per day is based on lots of different things now instead of just how much you weigh.

Tina, I want to be there.

02-07-2007, 11:13 PM
Hi Ya'll,
Well my Daddy is back in the hospital again. His swelling did not go down enough over the weekend so they put him in on Monday. He is still there. The fluid is down, they had to put back in a catherter yesterday because he developed some blood clots and then his poor little bladder could drain. He had been going to the bathroom all day and then the blood clot blocked the urine flow. My 2 sisters are up at the hospital all the time. It helps having them there but wish I could be there.

Get this.... my sub for my aide, has been out for 2 days. I don't think she likes it and this morning she didn't even call in sick. So I've been dealing with my class all alone. It's not really been bad as long as everyone is calm. The other sub (for the one that is out for surgery) is getting on my nerves so I don't use him too much. I am ready for the one aide to come back, then she is going to be in my room. We are friends too, so that will make it nice.

I'm running on fumes.

Tammy, glad that you got a couple of free days off! Just think and you won't have to make them up :)

Dee, good luck on your test! It's good to hear from you! Know you are in my prayers!!! I'm here for you if you need anything.

Tina, how is your neck of the woods?

02-07-2007, 11:24 PM
Susan, so sorry to hear about your dad's problems. He's been in my prayers, and he will continue to be. Glad that your sisters can be there, but I know you'd like to be there too. What a pain to have to deal with someone not being there and not even calling in!

Our school is on a 2-hour delay for tomorrow! The back roads have lots of ice on them, and the supt. said he wants to make sure the bus drivers can see what they are driving on. Most of the schools around here are on delays.

02-07-2007, 11:39 PM
Thanks for the prayers. Daddy's swelling is going down. They have restricted him to 1200cc of liquid a day. His out put is much greater so that's great. Hopefully he will get more of it off. All complications of his diabetes and then the sodium in the broth from his surgery.

Be careful if you go to school. Maybe they will make it another snow day! I could use one of those days about now. I kind of feel like I am getting sick. Strep is going around and so is the stomach bug. I just pray that I don't get sick. My trainer has been sick for 2 days and tomorrow might be "iffy", he will call me depending on how he feels.

02-08-2007, 10:09 PM
Hey Susan! Glad the swelling is going down. It's always something, isn't it? I hope you are feeling better!! Strep is not fun!! Neither is the stomach bug.

We are on a 2-hour delay again tomorrow! This is getting to be almost funny! So much for having accurate lesson plans!!

02-10-2007, 10:40 PM
Bob went for his appointment with the specialist on Friday. He doesn't know that I've talked to anyone about all of this. There is no cancer which we are so thankful! But, there is some damage to the liver. He will have to give up drinking, which is something he has done for years. This will be a major lifestyle change for him, so please pray for him to be strong. The doctor even mentioned a liver transplant if he didn't quit drinking. I think it made an impression.

I'm typing this while Bob isn't home. I have to let my brothers know too, but I want to talk to them. They aren't home right now, and I'm not talking to anyone about it while Bob is around.

I know how upset he would be if he knew that I had talked to others. I'm sure none of you will be dropping by for a visit, so I told you. Anyway, that's all for now. Tim came home this weekend, so I think that was good for Bob. They've had some nice talks.

Thanks for being there for me!! Love you!!

02-10-2007, 11:16 PM
Tammy, that is such wonderful news.
Prayers are answered for us.
Thank you for telling us everything.

02-11-2007, 09:57 PM
I know the "no alcohol" is going to be hard for him. I'm not sure what I can do to help, but I will continue to pray for guidance.

Tim and I went to a church a few miles from here this morning. It has the same pastor as the church here in town. The one in town has a very small congregation. They were nice, but there was something there that didn't feel right. Today when we pulled in the parking lot, I started getting a warm feeling (not a hot flash!!). When we stepped in the door, I knew this church would be special. The sanctuary felt homey, and the people were just as nice as those at the church here in town. The pastor looked thrilled to see us there, and she came back and talked to us before the service started.

This afternoon the pastor called, and she and I talked for about 25 minutes. I think we could have talked even longer. I feel so blessed right now. I don't know if Bob will go with me next week or not, but I honestly don't think I'll be checking out other churches.

Hope everyone is doing ok since we haven't heard from many for a while. We're expecting snow the next couple of days (again!). I can handle that better than the cold weather (I think!!!).

02-12-2007, 11:07 PM
Sorry I've been MIA! No excuses!

Tammy, I am SO HAPPY about Bob! You know the liver is the one organ that can rejunatate itself. I know it will be hard not to drink but I'm sure that Bob won't mind. You know it's funny because I tell things that Pat would die if he knew I told. What are friends for!!!!!! We are here through the thick and the thin. :)

Tina, how are things in your neck of the woods? I'll be heading that way at the end of March. I'll let you know when and where I will be, I'm coming for a conference. Hopefully it won't be too far from you.

Dee, are you doing ok? You are in my prayers.

My trainer is thinking about leaving! He works too much at the fire station and at the gym! BOO!!!! He asked me if he did and opened something on his own.....would I still come to him. I said "Of course!" We (my trainer and I) talked to another trainer about my diet. He said to make sure that I eat a balanced meal (which I don't) and to make sure that I have protein at every meal. Then I asked about diet dr. pepper, he said that diet drinks were no good. Your body treats them like sugar since it's not a natural substance. So as I finish up my diet dr. peppers, I'll not be buying anymore or at least cut WAY BACK!!!!

Daddy is doing much better. Hopefully he will get a clean bill of health tomorrow when he goes back to the dr. He actually goes to both drs. He is down 23 pounds since he was in the hospital last week. That is a LOT of fluid!!!!

I don't know what I would do without you. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers!

02-13-2007, 11:05 AM
"They" say that diet drinks are bad for everything. I'm wondering if, in the far future, they will discover that diet drinks are the cure for all kinds of ills.  :dizzy:
They are bad for our bones, our weight, our complexion, our blood pressure, and the list goes on and on and on.

One thing for sure, I'm not going to give them up!!!! I don't drink 3 or 4 a day. Maybe that's what they're talking about. I think that one a day helps keep the mind sharp.

Now that I'm through with my rant......everyone have a nice day. :)

02-13-2007, 11:06 AM
P.S. Susan, I'm probably going to be out-of-town that part of March.
We'll try to hook up another time.

Little Sis
02-13-2007, 12:55 PM
I feel like i am drowning in girl scoout cookies. Right now I have 20 cases, with 12 boxes in each case - 240 boxes in my living room. :dizzy: I will be glad when this sale is over.

Since Sue is at work I will tell - the latest update on Dad. He is down 3 lbs since yesterday. He went to both of his doctors this mornng and sid the blood clots were because of him being on the lasixs. It wasn't anything he did. The doctors are very pleased. No maybe I can stop all the stress eating and eat health.

Right now I am either eating everything in site or not eating and just drinking Diet DP. How off is my diet. I have got to get incontrol. I am exercising more than ever going to the gym 4 days a week, but following it with terrible eating. What is wrong with me?

02-15-2007, 12:15 AM
Amy, the exercising sounds great. Try to eat several small meals for the next few days and see if you can get under control.
Sell those cookies. :D

02-15-2007, 12:33 AM
Happy Valentine's!!!!

I went to exercise this evening then I stopped and picked up dinner for Pat. He made me a card today. It was really cute. We normally don't do anything.

Amy, you know we have had a lot going on and all those cookies are making you MORE crazy! Just take it easy and don't beat yourself up. Easy for your big sis to say.......... hmmmmmm I think we MUST be related!!!! You are doing great exercising! I'm really proud of you.

Tina, how did the Special K go? I bought some of the meal replacement bars and think I might do that for a while. I wish it was as easy to get off as it was to gain! Yes, we will have to hook up sometime.

Tammy, are you surviving the cold?

Personally, I AM READY FOR SPRING!!!!!! I'm tired of the cold. Guess I better start heading to bed.

02-15-2007, 09:25 PM
Things are going crazy with the weather around here!!!! I am tired of snow!!! In my last message I said that I could handle the snow better than the cold weather. That was before we had 13+ inches of snow and all of the blowing and drifting. Now we're back to negative temperatures. This is the pits!! I told Bob that the drifts really are pretty. You should have seen the look I got!! I am so glad that we have the company that does the snow removal for this development. They came on Tuesday which was a waste of time because what they cleaned out was covered up less than an hour after they left. They came back and tried again, and no luck. They finally came on Wednesday about noon, and they were able to get it passable. The large mounds of snow are really not fun to drive around though. I took some pictures out behind the house, and Bob was out taking pictures in the front. He did go and shovel at the front doors of the older women in the homes around us because the snow was up to everyone's front doors. He went out through the garage, and he had to climb over snow to get out. Too funny. I'm sure Dee would have loved this!! Too bad she didn't stay around in Ohio longer!!

We had school Monday and that was it. We are on a 2-hour delay for tomorrow. According to the news, the county we live in was one that was hit the hardest. Figures.

Susan, if your trainer is cute, GO WITH HIM!! Just kidding. I know that you really like him. Maybe we should all go to him. Kind of a long drive though.

Tina, I'm not giving up diet sodas either. In fact, right now I am sitting here drinking a real Pepsi. I have been working on taxes and the FAFSA (federal student aid) today. I told Bob I was going to the store and buy a real Pepsi to give me energy. So I did!

Amy, I can still see the semi driving down our street when I was a kid bringing all of the Girl Scout cookies to our house. My mom was the cookie chairperson for several years. You've been doing alot, so the eating is probably a stress thing. I'm well known for that!!

Susan and Amy, glad to hear that your dad is better!!

Bob and I usually just do cards for Valentine's Day. This year I bought the very first one that I looked at. It was perfect especially for what we've been experiencing with the health issues lately.

A funny for you. Bob was uptown at the Eagles the other night and ordered a diet pop. The bartender looked at him funny because he normally would order a beer. Bob told her that he failed his test, so he is committed to a life without alcohol. She understood completely because she can't have alcohol either. I thought the way he told her was funny though.

02-15-2007, 10:33 PM
Got a migraine today. I HATE THEM!!! I came home and left my sunglasses on and went straight to bed. Pat said "Are you getting up? You've been sleeping for about an hour and 1/2?" I thought ..... You CRAZY CRAZY man!!!!

Tammy, I've been worried about you with all the snow. THey were showing on the news and I thought about you. By the way, I'm so tired of the cold here!!! It doesn't even compare to yours. That is too funny about Bob. Only a few more days and we will be celebrating. I'm going to celebrate for you!!!

Tina, how are you?

Dee, are you holding in there?

Amy, love ya!!!

I'm NOT giving up diet drinks either. I've changed my mind. Why take all the fun out of life!!! :)

02-15-2007, 11:28 PM
Susan, Bob used to get migraines all the time at one of the jobs that he had. They went away when he switched jobs. I think it was his boss. Kind of like my old principal!! Hope you are feeling better!!! I agree about Pat. Crazy man!!

The roads that I drove on earlier today weren't the best, and tomorrow I'll be on more back roads going to school. I'm not looking forward to it. Bob said he'd drive me, but that would be silly for him. I guess he could always go hang out in the old house. lol No he couldn't! The driveway won't be plowed out until sometime tomorrow! He could always go to school with me. ha!!!!

02-15-2007, 11:59 PM
I was just watching the Weather Channel and Jim Cantori was in NY. I don't think I could live where it was so bad in the winter.

Tammy, you should stay home tomorrow. There's no sense in you being out in that stuff. It's just not safe. So there! :)
Can you send the pictures for us to see?????

Susan, I hope you feel better tomorrow. Has Pat ever had a bad headache?
I feel bad today. I've recruited that cold again. This time I'm getting laryngytis. It's supposed to get down to 27 here tonight. Don't laugh because that's really cold for us. I don't think I'll get out of the house tomorrow.
Everyone stay warm.

Little Sis
02-16-2007, 06:53 PM
Well I know Sue and are related, I have her miagraine today. Nothing is seeming to help. The boys have a birthday party tonight and i think i might let Rob take them.

Tina, when I read you post I snickered. Sue's Pat and my Rob have the granddaddy of all headaches. They both get vascular headaches that last days and Pats even last weeks. They are so fun to live with when they get them. Rob's are not as bad as Pat's thank goodness.

I am on a cookie count down. Yea! 1 more week.

Well we am going to have a new addition to our house in 8 weeks. I have been talking to a breader of golden retrievers for several months and her momma dog had a litter on Valentine's Day. i am getting a little girl, she will be a totally inside dog. Our other 2 dogs- 1 3 year old black lab and a 14 year old lab shepard mix don't like to be inside, so they are outside dogs.

I plan on going through pet therapy training with her in Austin next Spring and then start making visits with nursing homes, rehab hospitals and childrens shelters .

I started reading Bob Greene's "Best Life" book. It is really good book.

Well I am off to wrap the boys present to take to their party.

Oh, Dad lost anither 2 lbs. last night. He is now down 29 lbs in 3 weeks. :carrot: He feels much better, but is still very weak.

02-16-2007, 08:48 PM
Tina, I went to school today but I went all main roads. I didn't have any problems. We're expecting more snow tomorrow. 2-3 more inches. I want to move south today. I'll get the pictures developed and see how they look. Do you have a scanner thingy? Tim has the digital camera at school, so I'd have to send them to someone to scan. Are you feeling better today? sure hope so.

Amy, I hope you are feeling better too. That's cool about the new addition at your house! The lady where we take Kramer when we go away does Pet Therapy. She has Newfoundlands. They are so big and beautiful! They love Kramer. I've heard quite a bit about that book. Maybe I need to read it. that's great about your dad feeling better!! He'll get stronger day by day.

Off to read for a while. Oh, we have another contract on the house. They need to sell their house, but it is in the process. AND there is another couple looking at it tomorrow!! We'll get that sucker sold yet!!

02-16-2007, 08:53 PM
Hi all,

I'm a 19-yr-old college freshman, and am trying to lose close to 50 pounds. I've been overweight since I was little, and I'd really like to change my ways. I've dieted plenty of times, some successful, some eventually tossed, but this time, I'd really like to stick with it - esp. since a gym membership comes with tuition!

I've lost 16 pounds since the second semester began, about 5 weeks ago. But I definitely need some support, since the girls here are all toothpicks.

I'd love to hear any tips, tricks, comments, etcetera. I look forward to meeting some new friends on here.

02-16-2007, 11:13 PM
Welcome to the group, Leigha. Everyone here will be happy to help you along. It sounds like you've made a great first step......16 pounds.

Tammy, when you get your photos developed, ask them to put them on a disc for you. Kodak does that and I'm sure others will, too. Sometimes it's done for free, even. Our scanner bit the dust a long time ago and we never replaced it. Larry bought me a great color printer, instead.
I have some photos of Smokey that I'd love to enlarge. I will just have to take them in and have them done.
But really, get them put on a disc.

I have felt so sick all day. Tonight I feel better but don't have a voice---very frustrating.

BTW, those people better buy your house, Tammy.

Maureen, where are you?????

02-17-2007, 12:12 AM
Welcome Leigha!! This is a really great group, and we always happy to have new people to chat with and to help us solve all of the problems in the world.
My son is a freshman in college, and he decided at the beginning of this semester to start going to the gym and to start eating healthier.

Tina, putting the pictures on a disc sounds like a good plan! Glad you feel better!! Does Larry mind you not having a voice???? Bob would be thrilled if I didn't!! lol I agree about the people and the house!! I know the people who just put a contract on it really want it. Her uncle was talking to a friend of mine about it.

It is way too late to be up even though I don't have to get up early except to let Kramer out in the morning. I'm meeting Carol and Melissa for lunch as long as the roads aren't nasty. I am really tired of snow and the cold.

02-17-2007, 12:31 PM
It was 14 degrees here the other night. I'm so ready for SPRING!!!

Pat's band is playing tonight, I think I'll stay here and get some stuff done.

Amy is right about Pat and Rob having headaches. Pat has a headache every day of his life. Sometimes they last 6 weeks or longer. They can't find any medicine to really help. His grandfather had them like that too. So I always feel bad when I have one but mine go away.

Our mom calls Amy and I twins because we're so much alike. :)

Leigha, welcome to the group.

Amy, I'm proud of you. Do you have a name for the puppy yet. I like the name BELL. That's my 2 cents.

Tammy, I'm reading the same book as Amy. It's funny because I said I think I'm going to go get it and she said "I just got it this morning."

Tina, get to feeling better, Sweetie!

02-20-2007, 07:47 AM
Hello everyone! A very quiet group!! It was 44 degrees here yesterday!! A real heatwave compared to the past couple of weeks. The snow is starting to melt, so then there will be flooding in areas. A vicious circle.

Off to school for the morning. I leave at noon. My uncle passed away, and the funeral is this afternoon. He has had heart problems for the past few years.

Hope everyone is doing ok!!

02-20-2007, 12:22 PM
Tammy, I am so sorry about your uncle's death.

It is quiet around here nowadays. People are just not posting anymore. I don't know why that is.

Yesterday was David's birthday. I had a spurt of energy and used every ounce of it. :) He wanted us to order pizzas and for me to make a chocolate cake w/chocolate fudge icing. We had a fun evening, just the 3 of us.
Today I'm going to take it easy so I can get completely over this virus.

Tammy, how many more days until "freedom"

02-20-2007, 09:59 PM
Tina, the funeral was tough for everyone. My mom had 14 in her family, and now there are only 4 of the sisters remaining.

Happy Birthday to David!! It sounds like you had a fun time. Tim's b-day is March 5. We're planning to go over and take him out to eat on Sunday the 4th or maybe we'll just go over on his b-day since I will be finished!! He wants to go to Damon's.

I now have 6 days left. There are 2 other elementary teachers retiring at the end of the year, so one of the 5th grade teachers told me today that there will be a big party at the end of the year for all of us. Works for me! BUT she did say that she is bringing in one of her world famous frozen cheesecakes on my last day. YUMMY!!!!!

Sure wish everyone would post more often!!

02-22-2007, 01:03 PM
I wish you ladies up north could be here today. Right now, it's 70 with a possiblitly of it becoming 78! Yesterday it got up to 83 degrees. Yep, that's right....right here in February. It was heavenly to wear shorts again.

Tammy, I know you must be counting the hours until your retirement.

How is everyone else doing?

02-22-2007, 09:25 PM
Hi Ya'll,
Hope everyone is doing good! I'm ready for spring break. Only a week away! I get a student teacher after spring break. Hopefully, she will be good not like my last one.

Tammy, I am so sorry for the loss of your uncle. I know that must be real hard on your family. I can't believe that you have 6 days left! We want to come to the celebration!!!!!

Tina, Tell David Happy Birthday for us!!!!! Hope you are feeling better! If it's the bug I had, it takes a while to get over.

I have a ton of school stuff to do and don't want to do it. Just wanted you to know that I'm hanging in there.

I talked to this Chiropractor the other day at the gym, and he was telling me that accupunture would help with weight loss. Believe it or not, I'm thinking about it.

02-23-2007, 11:15 AM
Happy Friday,

Leigha, how are you doing on the program?
Dee, how is your weather? I saw that y'all had some cool mornings.
Amy and Susan, I hope your father is doing better now.
Sis, Maureen, Jodi, Mimi, Brandy.....and the list goes on. We would love to hear from you all.
Tammy, how many more days?

I went to the dermatologist yesterday to have a skin tag cut off. Yikes. He said I would feel a little pinch. Nope, I could feel him cutting, twice. Evidently that numbing cream is old. :( I'm just complaining because I'm glad to get rid of the tag.
I can't walk this morning because I can't get sweaty, because I can't shower until the 24 hrs are up----late this afternoon. (How about that for a sentence.)
Everyone have a great day.

What a day!!!! The weather was changing and it sure does affect the kids. I'm tired. Then I worked out with Mitch tonight.

Tina, OUCH!!!!!!! You poor thing! I know those hurt! I love my dermatologist but he sure does hurt me :)

Tammy, I know your kids are going to be so bummed on your last day. You are an excellent teacher!!!!!!!!

Amy, where are you?

Susan, a friend of mine has done acupuncture for her back pain recently. I plan to get the information and give it a try sometime. I'll have to ask about the weight loss! The weather really does affect the kids' behavior. I can totally agree with that!!

Tina, I've never had skin tags cut off, but I've had them taken off with some liquid stuff. Have you showered yet?????????????? lol

Tim has been sick all week. He went to the doctor at school on Tuesday and got an antibiotic. They did a strep test, and it was negative. His temp was 103.2. We had decided he was going to come home on Friday and just get some rest. If he wasn't better, he was supposed to go back for a mono test on Monday.

His girlfriend ended up bringing him home on Thursday about 6:30. His temp hadn't been under 100 all week. He went right to bed when he got home. When he got up, he tried to eat jello and drink some broth, but he could hardly swallow. There was no way he could take the medicine the doctor at school had given him. His temp was back up to 102.9.

We ended up going to the hospital Thursday night about 9:30.

The doctor at the ER (They don't have Convenient Care anymore! I didn't know that.) took one look at his throat and said it was a viral infection. He took him off the antibiotic because he said it wouldn't help. He also said he should not have been put on that antibiotic because it is super strong. He was glad to find out that Tim was eating yogurt because the medicine would have caused severe diarhea if he wasn't eating it. Yuck! They gave him something to bring down the temp and something to numb the throat so he could swallow and possibly get some food in to him. The doctor also ruled out mono right away.

He can go back to classes on Monday ONLY if he feels lots better. At least he has a note to give all the professors!! I told him to keep wearing the wristband they put on you so he would have proof he had been to the doctor. He didn't go for that. His temp has been under 100 the past 2 days, and he has been able to eat some food - jello, applesauce, oatmeal, 7up, apple juice. Today the applesauce and apple juice are hurting his throat though.

We're leaving to take him back to school in about an hour. I think being home was the best thing for him. He was able to get plenty of sleep which he wouldn't have gotten in the dorm. He'll be going back to classes tomorrow with the paper from the hospital to excuse him for classes he missed last week. He isn't planning on working the 2 shifts this week, so that should help he get better too.

I now have 3 days of school. I'll only be there on Mon. and Wed. though. I'm going out to eat with one of the 5th grade teachers after school on Wed. I know we'll have a good time. I'm already dreading the tears (mine and students) on the last day.

Hope you are all having a good weekend.

Poor Tim!!!! I'm so sorry he was so sick. It's a good thing he got to come home. He would've just gotten worse if he'd stayed at school. Good for Jess bringing him home.
That viral infection has been going all around Texas.
This morning, there was no a/c, heat or fan going in our church class room. People started coughing and sneezing. I sure didn't want to get that stuff again. I got up and opened the door into the hallway. At least we had a little air circulation in there.

Tammy, how is Bob doing without drinking? I imagine that's even harder than not having sweets for us. :D

Susan, when is your Spring Break?

How is everyone doing??????????

I bought some little bottles of water. That way when I want to grab a diet cola, I'll get one of those things instead. As long as I have some carbonation, maybe I'll make it.

Hi all!! Tim emailed yesterday that his temp was 97.6 (his normal), so that was a huge relief. He also was able to eat more food yesterday. He has a makeup test to take this afternoon. I'm sure he'll do much better on it than he would have on Friday.

We've had several students and staff out for so many different illnesses. I think I'll be even more happy to get out of there!! Smart move for opening the door Tina!

Bob has done ok, but the other night he ended up drinking a couple of beers. I couldn't believe it. I was so disappointed, but I tried not to let him know. He had worked a fish fry at the Eagles, and everyone else was drinking beer, and he ended up with a couple. Of course, a couple in 3 weeks is better than alot more every day of the week I guess. I'll keep praying for him.

I've been trying to get in more water too. Some days are better than others.

I have my pictures on a disc. Now how do I send them?????? I know we have experts on here to give me some advice since I don't have a clue!!!

Well, I got smacked in the nose again today! Not hard but it sure did hurt. I wanted to cry!!! Then I got the stapler thrown at the back of my head and it hit me. Of course, the aide didn't do anything when see saw any of this! My aide will be back (the one out for surgery) after Spring break!!!!! YEA!!!!!

I exercised today. I think my trainer is getting ready to quit.

Oh for some interesting news, I'm playing in the faculty basketball game on Friday. I hope I don't die!!!!! :)

Tammy, glad Tim is feeling better! Poor thing! Are you starting to celebrate?????

Tina, Are you feeling better? My spring break is next week. I'm ready for it. Pat's off this week and then taking next week off. We are just going to play.

Hope everyone has a great evening or night.

Tina, the last day was pretty much a normal day. Since I've had so many days off this year, I don't really think it has hit me yet.

Susan, how's your nose? I'm sure you'll be glad when the aide returns. How was the basketball game?????? Went after school on Wed. with some of the teachers just to chat. They ate, but Bob and I were going out for dinner.
He and I planned to eat Mexican, but the place was packed, so we went for Chinese. You and Pat have fun playing!!

We're going to Muncie tomorrow. Tim's birthday is Monday, so we're going to take him out to eat. He'll be home on Friday for his spring break, then we leave for Georgia on Saturday (10th) morning. I'm ready to pack and go now. It's snowing again.

Hope you are all having a great weekend!
