Morning gals-How come we're not stickied??

It finally snowed here! It was a very pretty walk this morning and even though the temp was only 5 and the wind chill below 0, it seemed warm.

Get this one, on Friday night we had a family game night. My sis's fam and mom and dad. Well, mom says she got an interesting phone call about me. I was like ok, what? Well a friend of the family was told-supposedly by my aunt-that I was pregnant. (it is a very well known fact that we do not want children) I don't know where this rumor came from and I'm kinda ticked at the aunt who supposedly started this. It just boggles my mind. The rumor spread so quickly that my sis got an email from a friend in N. Carolina that evening congratulating me! Crazy.

Anyways, health wise-my blood test came back weird. I meet with the dr. on Wed. to discuss what it means and still haven't gotten the EKG results. Only a few days left. My nerves are shot. The headache still hasn't gone away either and the meds they gave me are not helping.

OK, I'm off. I hope you all have a great day and a wonderful game 13!!!!

Oh, I'm down 2.5 pounds this week! Yippee!!!!!!!!!!

Brandy~ i hope everything turns out alright and they find out what is wrong.

Well I got good news today I thought when I was doing sits etc. it was for 15/20 mins turns out to be 30 mins:cheer: :cheer: i also got 1 hour of cardio in. i am not losing and it is ticking me off so I really need to come up with some other exercises, we just can't afford anything else right now. I guess I will have to try to squeeze another tape into our budjet, just not sure which one.
I hope evryones weekend went well

01-29-2007, 12:47 PM
wendy - i know that feeling and yah, it's pretty

brandy - families and gossips/rumors go together like spaghetti and meatballs. lol, I love it!!! I hope everything goes well for you at the drs. Great job on ur loss!!

canadianmom - do u have moviestop up there??? you can trade movies in for store credit and get urself some new workouts.they have a pretty decent workout section.

I had a bad weekend...foodwise. the funny thing is I was down on my scale. But my scale is off about 3-4 pounds from the ww one. But if I'm down on mine, then I should be down on theirs, right? I'll have to see on Wed. So I am back on track today, but this week is goig to be a very hectic week. we're moving on saturday and the house is a mess and I have to get organized and all that good stuff. I hope I'll be able to stay on track!

have a great day everyone!

Courtnie, I know how you feel about feeling ugly. When I went out the other night we had some pictures taken and I swear I look so big yet! Oh, and the wrinkles are just cropping up left, right and center! Gak!I felt like I should go into hiding! LMAO!
You are a gorgeous girl though so no worries! I always feel better when I treat myself to a haircut too!To bad I'm growing it out to please my mother. After the summer I'm going to chop it all off, right now I'm an inch short of being able to throw it up in a ponytail, it'll be great for the summer at the lake!

Heres the picture that made me feel fat. Excuse the silly expression on my face, I was telling my friend off! LOL!

Oh ya, and my face was all swollen up from using a different face wash, notice how I had no cheek bones??HAHA!

01-29-2007, 05:46 PM
:kickbutt: There ya be Wendy!!! I did notice you carried your points over and thought it was a great idea.

Courtnie-I love getting my hair done. I could sit and get shampooed for hours. I love the little mini massage thing they do. I've been going to the same hairdresser for about 6 years now. She has become a good friend and we always seem to laugh a lot. Wish I was able to go today. Next Friday will come soon enough I guess.

I'm between students at the moment so thought I'd see what's happening. I did the craziest thing today. My neighbor/walking buddy and I were goofing off this morning and build-a-bear came up. Well, we went this morning and both created our own build a bear and dressed them up. Mine is a fairy princess (Princess Violet) and hers is a ballerina (Gwendolyn). It was hysterical to see a 30 something and a 40 something having so much fun picking out and dressing the darn things. I thought the people in there probably thought we were insane. Anyways, it made me smile and that was worth it.

Hope ya all have a great night.

Brandy~ I did that for a friend of mine for a birthday gift, I had alot of fun dressing it up and all!! My firend is a wanna be cowboy so I got it all dressid up in cowboy duds right down to the sh!t kickers! It was awesome!

c'mom- I hope you find a video that you like and works for your budget.

Ro- With your move are you still going to be in Atlanta? You'll get some awesome excersice points in.

Wendy- I know to well about the belly thing. I like the idea of putting the last games pts on it. I'm also going to try for 100 pts or 100 %. It sure made me work harder last week.

Courtnie - How's your new haircut?

Brandy-Congrats on your loss. I hope the family gossip is able to be straighten out. Sadly, I think all families have rumors and gossip. Hopefully the doctor will be able to make your headaches a thing in the past soon. When is your next appointment?

I also seem to do my worst on the weekends for myself. I do feel that I worked a lot harder this past week after I thought about how much I need to give 100% if I wanted my weight goal to be a reality. I didn't loss a single pound. I checked twice and even checked my measurements. Oh, well this is another week. Dd's tournament went good the competition was real tough. She got sixth in highest kick, didn't place in blocker sparring, but got 2nd in sparring. They made them split up and start over a few times. One time was because dd refused to tap out. She was in a choke hold from the other girl and her face was literary purple for a bit. Several people asked her why she didn't tap out. Her reply " I'm not going to just give her 10 points." lol No, she'll pass out first. lol

Did you keep the blonde in your hair Courtnie?
One reason I don't like the hairdresser is because either I wear makeup and half gets washed off of my face or I wear none and i look like crap even after I get my hair done!! No happy medium.
Glad you love your hair!
I'm going to bed soon, I have an upset stomach from what I have no idea.
Catch ya tomorrow gals!!!

01-30-2007, 08:13 AM
Hey ya'all, hope everyones off to a great start this morning. My 4 mile walk was in the snow (pretty) on snow covered roads (hard-I was really sweating!). Now I'm home enjoying my coffee.:coffee2:

I dont have lots to do this morning. I need to go to town and get my allergy shot so I'm sure I'll stop somewhere else while there. I need to get more lunchmeat so I'll do that too. I gotta teach this afternoon/evening and then have bible class. Should be a nice day.

Wendy-I can just picture the a little cowgirl. Must've been cute. Your pic looks good. Pony tails are a must for me in the summer. That is the one rule I give my hairdresser, as long as I can pony tail it then, she can do whatever she wants.

Courtnie-MMmmmmmm...Dairy Queen. I love their Peanut Butter Cup Blizzard. Yum! Glad your hair turned out nice.

hsmom-hang in there with the weight. We've all had weeks where we've done everything we could correctly and didn't see any progress on the scale. Hopefully this week will give you more satisfying results.

cmom-check out, and womens health and fitness magazines site-they all offer workouts (not neccesarilly videos, but good solid routines.) Great job on the exercise.

Ro-I hope your move goes smoothly. I wouldnt worry to much about being off plan during all that. You'll have enough stress in life without the extra burdens of weight loss guilt.

01-30-2007, 02:18 PM
My hair isn't blonde, its dark brown, it just looks blonde the way the sun hit it in that picture. It was actually died a dark red brown then... I might go back to that. I always use temporay dye

I almost forgot where I was needed to had a total bum day today but I did really good on my supper...whole grain rice green beans sweetpotatoes and 1/2 pork chop...mmm I was so full I could not eat another thing. I am going to try to get a work out in before Idol come on.

01-31-2007, 06:38 AM
La3y-Good job on truning a bad day around and ending it healthy. You're dinner sounds yummy.

Courtnie-I've been different shades of red for about 6 years after being blond for 2. Before that I mixed it up alot. I truly cant remember exactly what my real haircolor is unless I find an old pic. Its so much fun to be a little creative.

So where is everybody????

My dr.s appt is later this morning. I hope she can calm some worries and knows a way to prevent the occurance from happening again. The opthalmologist follow up is Monday. Things are finally gonna come together and hopefully I'll get good news.

I'm dressed and ready for my walk so I'm outta here. Hope you all are a bit more active on the board today. See ya.

Well, I'm having a good day. I finally got my 5 pounds lost sticker from WW. Woohoo!!!! The funny thing is I have not really been on track. I'm good maybe 2-3 days out of the 7 each week. But I have still managed to keep going down. It makes me think how much I am capable of losing each week if I am 100% on plan. I think I'm gonna try and find out this week!

canadian mom - don't worry about that slip-up. hope your good today!

brandy - i love build a bear. Whoever invented that is a genius. I think Ima go make a bear for V-day. Good luck at your dr's appt today.

Hey gals, my dr. appt. did not go well. I learned nothing, they lost a test result, and now I have to see a neurologist. So next week I have a follow up with more testing at the opthalmologist on Monday, I'm meeting with my normal optometrist on Tuesday because I trust him and want his opinion and also a recommendation on who to see for a 2nd opinion, and on Friday I have the appt with the neurologist who I'm sure will order even more tests. The dr. didn't seem to care that I've had a horrendous headache for over a month and a half and actually told me to only take the med. for it 3 x's a week instead of every day-How, may I ask does one function with a terrible headache??? I dont so I'm going to a chiropractor tomorrow afternoon to try for some relief.

Sorry this is a rant post but I've had it and truly cant take much more.

Ro-:congrat: Great job on the 5 pounds! I'm sure with moving you'll be getting plenty of exercise. I'll bet you'll be sore afterwards.

cmom-I have never been more frustrated with dr.s than I am right now. I wish I could transfer the pain to them and see how quickly they'd find help. Fruit and nuts are my favorite. Bananas and cashews to be exact. Yes, thats me in the avatar. Everyone compliments my color and says that it looks natural, but I also got that as a blond. Courtnie ~ I've never had Vietnamse. I really need to broaden my horizons. Ahhh gosh, I want a leather jacket. But that will have to wait.

Ro ~ HEYA GAL! Congrats on the 5 lb loss. SO HAPPY that WW is working for you! :carrot: I'll say a prayer for you moving. Moving is a *****!

02-03-2007, 06:57 AM
Gosh a Barenaked Ladies concert sounds fun. I cant remember the last concert I went to that wasn't country. I love country, but their concerts are a bit more low key. I think my last one was in grad school-a Plant and Page concert. Except for being rearended on the way out, what fun. I guess I really am getting old now that I look at how things have changed. Ughhh!!

Ro-Good luck on your move. My hubby and I swore up and down we were moving within 4 years of buying this house. Its now been 10 1/2 yrs, and neither of us wants to deal with a move so we're staying put for a bit longer. That seems to be fine with us. Our house is a decent size for just us 2 and we have about a half acre, but we're right in our small town and that is just rumor central and it can get bothersome. If I didn't have neighbors close on both sides I'd be very content.

Courtnie-see above, but also you dinner sounds yum!

Wendy-Well, at least you dont have the stress of wondering if your preggers. I hope you feel better. Gosh, I dont think I could take waiting since April. I guess that is one good thing about american healthare.

OK, gotta move to meet my walking buddie. Have a great morning.

02-03-2007, 08:34 AM
Well its been an interesting week. Hubby was off the last couple days and it throws my schedule with the boys right off! I love having him home, but he doesn't get that there is a schedule I keep the kids on, and when its off...they get cranky! Oh, and plus Dylan is starting with his terrible two's temper tantrums whenever he doesn't get what he wants!:dizzy:

So all week I tried to stay on plan as much as I could. I probably could have exercised a bit more, but its over with and all I have to do this morning is deal with weigh in. I look forward to the WW meeting, but not the weigh in. I can't believe how good I've been not weighing in at home...I have stayed away from the scale this week almost completely. I guess after last week's gain, I just didn't want more disappointment.

Last night hubby asked if I wanted to go for a walk. I said sure, since I hadn't had the energy or motivation all day to do It was snowing pretty hard and there are a lot of people that do not clear their sidewalks off very well. Normally it would not bother me, but I was pushing the stroller with the little one in it and hubby was pulling Dylan on a sled. It was good though, we live near the bottom of a small hill, so between the incline, snow and pushing the stroller for 30 minutes, it was a great workout! I was sweating by the time we got home!

Today we are heading downtown for our local Winterfest! (after my WW meeting) They have dog sled rides, and pony rides, and horse drawn wagon rides for the kids. Plus lots of things to look at like ice sculptures and huge snow slides and things like that. Its a lot of fun for the kids. We took Dylan down last year, he was just over a year, and it will be fun to take both kids down this year!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Went for the weigh in, didnt really feel like I had lost anything, but got on the scale and I was down 1.4!!!:carrot: :carrot: YAY me!!!

I'm just so happy the scale is going back in the right direction!! I really like the weight watchers program and I know I made the right decision by joining! I love that I can still have what I want and still lose weight!! So what did I do today??? Went and had a burger and I havent had that for a long time, so it was my treat! I allow myself to have something every Saturday that I don't get to have during the week. Kinda like my reward day. I don't over do it, but just something to treat myself. Today we were out and I decided what the heck, its not going to kill me if I have a burger and fries. Plus I counted it in today's points!

We headed downtown this morning after my weigh in and went to our Winterfest. OH MY GOSH was it COLD!!!!! Our downtown is right on our waterfront, which is on a lake. So the wind coming off the frozen lake plus the bitterly cold temperatures just made it way too cold to stay too long. Dylan and I went on a horse drawn wagon ride...he loved it. Last year he cried the whole time, so it was nice to do it this year and not have him Christopher is still kinda little, and I wanted to keep him bundled up in the stroller but next year he will get to go.

So tonight we are supposed to get a bad storm. We are in for anywhere from 20-30 cm (8-12 inches) of snow tonight. If its too bad in the morning we might not go anywhere and just stay home for the day!

Hope you all have a great night.

Just relaxing here tonight, and taking tomorrow off exercise and diet because I seem to be frusterated with it all. It's been months since I've lost any weight and it's slowly creeping back, I'm up to 138 again, also AF is due tomorrow so that isnt helping.

I did lunges yea-sterday for the first time in months now my butt and legs are killing me. It prbably didn't help walking around the mall for about 4 1/2 hours.

Today oh my gosh is it cold!!! Its been close to -30 with the wind chill all day. We got about another 6 inches of snow last night, but luckily we live in a condo so they plow out the parking lot and shovel the sidewalks for us!
Didn't get in too much exercise but tomorrow is a new day.
We are in for another snow storm tonight! Boy I can't wait for spring to come so this snow would go away. But I guess we can't complain, we didn't have any snow up until about a month ago and normally we have it at the end of November at the latest.

Well hope you all have a good night. I am off to get kids ready for bed and then its time to head to bed myself.

02-06-2007, 09:20 AM
:coffee: :woohoo: Good news!!! My eyes are OK! I havent lost any vision from whatever happened and I do Not have glaucoma! That eases tons of worries for me. I've been told I may never know for sure what happened, but I've got a few more options of dr.s to see who might tell me more. AND...My headache is GONE!!!! The chiropractor did the trick. It is so wonderful to feel normal again. Its amazing.

The deep freeze is upon me also. Its so cold here that the schools have been cancelled today and yesterday-mainly windchill in the dangerous realm. I'm hoping my truck will start today for my appt. I need a new battery so its iffy in this cold.

Wendy-your dinner sounds really yummy.:eating2: I love chai tea also. Yesterday I had 3 nice cups of a pomegranite white tea. I think thats my favorite at the moment. I go on streaks and it changes every month.

Anne-I wish we had the snow to go along with the cold. But then I would have to go out and shovel. It'd be great exercise but awfully cold.

Courtnie-Hang in there, thingswill change soon. Do you find it harder to lose when its cold out? Comfort foods are seldom healthy, but they taste so good.

cmom-Hopr your legs are ok from all the lunges. I hate starting back to an exercise I'veavoided for to long cuz its always painful.

Brandy~ :carrot: :carrot: Great news about the eyes. I am glad your headaches are gone. My legs and butt still hurt a bit but not as bad as they did on the weekend.;)

I am falling into the comfort food trap. I eat a BIG bowl of cereal every night but the cereal is gone now so tonigh my tummy will be grumbly but I can try to break the cereal eating this week then.

Just heading out for lunch at Moxies! I'm so pumped about having the soup and salad!! It's cream of Broccoli soup whick I'll probably change since we are supposed to stay away from creamed soups and chicken ceaser salad, I'm adding on the chicken to the salad because it's SO good!! And water to drink, I love water!!
So, anyway, thats my day in a nutshell!!LOL!
Catch ya later!!

Brandy ~ So happy your eyes are fine!

Courtnie ~ Come on, look how far you've come! You can't give up now.

Today was WI and I am at 248....which was my revised Valentine's Day goal! YAY! So I had to revise my goal again to 246.

Oh gosh, has anyone tried the Silk Chocolate Milk? Ick! One sip was okay but I tried it in my cereal and couldn't hardly eat it! Guess I'm going to stick with regular 2% or skim milk.

Hi all,

Just a quick note this morning to say hello!

Its another snowy day here in Ontario! We got almost a foot of snow yesterday morning, and they are calling for more again today!:o

So that means another day stuck inside with the kids! I was hoping it might warm up a little bit so I can take the kids out, but no such luck!!

But my mom is coming for a visit today, so that will be nice!
I got on the scale yesterday at home and its was showing another loss, but I won't count it until I go to my meeting and weigh in on Saturday! But I sure do like seeing some progress!!

Brandy - CONGRATS!!! I am so glad your eyes are alright and that you finally have some relief from that headache!! :carrot: :carrot:

Courtnie - Are you doing ok? Try to think of the big picture hun, you have already come so far and you know you can do it!!!

Wendy - That lunch sounded so good!

Cmom - I hope your legs are feeling better today!!

Shari - Congrats girl!!! Great Job!! :carrot: :carrot:

Have a great day everyone!

I did my old tae bo tape today for exercise I know it is only 27 mins but I am trying to switch it up some I think my body is used to the gazelle now (it is the main source of cardio for a year) so I am going to do my old tapes until I can get some new ones I hope within the next month. Friday I think I will do the advanced tape the basic was too easy.

We had a yummy breakfast this morning we had homemade pancakes. I make 3 or 4 batches at a time so we have something different and quick for breakfast and easy for supper.

morning gals!!

courtnie - hope ur doing good on your business trip!

brandy- I'm so happy that ur vision is ok and that ur headache is gone. It must be a relief for ya. Way to hang in there!!

Shari -WTG on ur loss!! I'm iffy about that Silk and I haven't gotten the guts yet to try it.

Wendy - WTG on your good day!!

Anne - hope u and the kids are able to entertain yourself cooped up in the house.

canadianmom - I haven't had pancakes in forever....send me some please??

today's my weigh-in. I haven't really been eating the best foods, but over the weekend I did get killer exercise with the move and all (we still aren't finished getting our crap out of the old apt!) I have tried to be more mindful of what I am eating so that helps a bit.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I measured myself the other day. I have lost some inches!! 4" off my waist and 3.5" off my bust. I don't know why or how but the measuring tape says so!!! That has been the highlight of my week so far!!!

Have a great day gals!!!

Everyone is doing so well! I'm so proud of you all!!!
I'm just sitting here eating my WW cereal, it's the almond crisp, any one try it?I'm not to sure if it yet, kinda funky.
Not really up to much today, maybe go look at some trailers, depends on if I can get the tire up since it went flat again.
Catch ya later ladies!!

Hi gals, glad to hear everyone is doing well. I took my sis and the kids to get her van fixed and to an appt. and then some shopping this morning. My afternoon is free and then I gotta work tonight. One of my piano students gave us a treadmill over the weekend. My husband is so happy because he wants to run a half marathon early March and its been to cold to run outside for enough training. Now he'll be able to do it. I actually might go run on it some today just to get moving again.

Rosario-Thats a terrific amount of inches lost! You must be so happy. Hope your weigh in reflects the good news.

Wendy-Hope you get your tire fixed. Car problems are the pits. I did get my battery changed yesterday so I didnt end up stranded anywhere.

cmom-I havent done my TaeBo since I got TurboJam. Maybe I should pull it out once in awhile. I made myself whole wheat waffles yesterday and they were yum.

Shari-Great job on the loss and reaching your goal early enough to revise it TWICE!!!! Cant stand any soy milk, but I'm very allergic to soy so that figures.

Anne-Hope you have a nice visit with your mom. Must be a little frustrating being cooped up for so long.

Good afternoon,
Just checking in quickly here so I can catch up.
Just got news that I have to go for another CT scan on the 17th then in March for a carotid ultrasound, yippee, sounds like real fun don't you think?
I hope I can get some answers out of this now, I'm tired of not feeling well.
Off to get on the bike for awhile, catch yas!!

02-08-2007, 09:02 AM
Wendy-hope your testing goes well. I cant imagine having to wait until March just to have the tests. I dont want to sound horrible, but I hope the testing might show something so you may be treated correctly and receive relief from your pain and sleeplessness. I know how frustrating it is to get no answers.

Did I tell you all how wonderful it is to NOT have a headache!? Life is so much better the past few days. So, I go to the neurologist tomorrow and will probably get more tests scheduled. I guess they are looking to see if vascularly there are more clots up in my brain area. I thought the MRI would have shown any but I guess you need an MRA to see them. I've never heard of that test til a week ago. I'll also need to have more bloodwork done to see whats going on with the one protein level. Please keep me in your thoughts/prayers.

Ro-How was your weigh in?? Sorry your move is not finished. I'm sure that is adding some stress to your life. How do you like your new place? Hope all is well.

Well, busy day for me. I'm getting my hair done, and then I've gotta go do some accompanying for a school. Unfortunatly the hair salon and the school are about an hours drive away from each other. Lots of truck time today. Oh well, it'll give me time to think.

See ya'all later.

The break from the same old exercise yesterday was nicand made today's exercise easier to get throught (had to take a break halfway through Aurora pooped her pants lol). I think my sister has finally set a wedding month ,not sure about date, in stone. She has been saying December, so I have until December to lose my weight. She has also put off trying for a baby until they are married (wants to look good in her dress lol).

does anyone have a link to finding your frame size all I find is the one that goes by your wrist but the one that goes by your elbow is supposed to be more accurate. I found one once but have had no luck lately.

02-08-2007, 02:10 PM
hey guys!

I only lost 0.2 pounds yesterday, but I'm taking it just as long as I don't gain. I'm back on track for the week. Although, I did go a little crazy with snacks yesterday and used up 14 flex points. Eek....I'm sure you aren't supposed to use them like that but I'll be happy with myself just as long as I count all my points for the entire week without going over my daily points and without using more than my 35 FP. I have yet to have a week where I count points every single day. I figure I might as well start acting like I am on weight watchers.

canadianmom - wtg on making ur workout easier. ur lucky to be in a wedding. I think that is excellent motivation. I have no clue about finding ur frame size.

brandy - I'm so glad ur feeling sooo much better. Have fun at your hair appointment (I am waaaaay overdue for one!!)

Just curious how the BTB game works and whether or not I can join?

02-08-2007, 04:55 PM
4me4ben4will-We keep track on the points thread. We get points for eating healthy meals that fall within our individual meals (we all do different thing)s), getting in the daily recommended amount of water, and more points for exercise. We dont penalize for bad behavior, just reward for good. You can go to the points thread and see point values in the first post.

This thread is to support each other and discuss life in general. You can join us anytime. There's a great group of ladies here and they're all very supportive. We're all in different stages of the weight loss process which allows for LOTS of knowledge.

Hope ya come back and let us know a little about yourself.

cmom-my scale does body fat %, but I'm not sure how accurate it is. I haven't used that function in awhile either so I'm not sure where I stand. For body fat, the skinfold test is pretty accurate if you can find someplace that does it. (had it done once way back in college.)

Ro-great job on the loss!! Stay away from those flex points!

canadian mom
02-08-2007, 05:54 PM
i don't know if the skinfold test would work as I have alot of loose skin (I didn't take care of myself well with my first pregnacy).

4me here is the link

Exercise: 1 point for every 30 minutes of exercise(half points allowed)
Water: 2 points for every half gallon/2 litres/64 oz.
Meals: 2 points for every healthy meal depending on your chosen plan
Snacks: 1 point for every healthy snack

Because some of us eat 3-5 smaller meals a day, the first 3 will count as meals and the rest as snacks

Morning gals,

I'm off to the neurologist this morning. Wish me luck. I am very sick of seeing drs., but if this one can explain what happened and what we'll do to prevent it from happening again then its worth the trouble.

Wendy-I'm so jealous of your trailer. We still go tent camping (of course we have no little ones to worry about!). I usually love it, but we've been poured on a few times and thats not so much fun. We're also planning lots of camping/kayaking trips since thats all we can afford this year after Hawaii last year. Cant wait for it to warm up and the adventures to start.

Courtnie-glad to see ya around. Hows your headache?

cmom-I've got a lot more skin than I did when the test was done on me. I was 19 years old and 18% body fat. THose were the days. I'd be embarrassed to have the test done now.

Happy Friday all. Have a good one.

Then we walked to the grocery store (just down the street from the dollarstore) and picked up a few things so we can have supper tonight.I will have to go back this weekend or the first of the week cause the hubby didn't get his full pay yesterday.I did get my exercise in before I went.

Brandy~I hope your appointment goes well
Wendy~ I want a rv so we can go camping...........

no headache, sore throat though for screaming at people in the bar to talk to them, haha

this company called media tempale put on this pary, it was a pretty big deal I guess... anyway our estimated cost guess for them is in the 5 digits, they close a bar all night, and you could just drink all night for free

one downfall... i went to be around 3 and the maid just knocked on my door to clean my room... at 8:30m like wtf?

anyway it was my awesome, but i think this will be another week of no loss... im trying to decided if i go exercise but im thinking sitting in the hot tub for an hour might be more fun lol

canadianmom - aww, I miss all that valentine day nonsense....yknow, the candies, classroom parties, etc. I can't wait to have kids and do that stuff with them.

brandy - i bet u'd be happy never having to see another doctor again!! my bf loves tent camping. We might go camping this year up in northern california in august with my mom and her bf. It looks like lots of fun!!

wendy - no fair, you went to the lake with the trailer last year!!!! lol

Well, I am very proud of myself. I went to Taco Bell/Pizza Hut for lunch (had to pick up something for my bf) and all I had was 1 soft taco!! I ate that and made a black bean salad at home. All for 8pts!! it was pretty filling too. The big test will be tonite, though. We're going to Shogun and I really can't control myself around Japanese food. Been a crazy week full of snowfalls! We have had snow everyday since last Monday!!

This is our backyard area. This was early in the week and we have had another 6-8 inches more since then!!! Its crazy. So we've been stuck inside most of the week.

Well tomorrow is weigh in!!! Earlier this week I think I had lost so tomorrow we will see! I'm hoping for the best. I didn't exercise enough this week so if its not good, I know where I went wrong! Morning all, I'm up and ready for my day of accompanying the kidlings. Hope most of them do ok. I am pretty sure I have 2 that wont, but hope the rest do.

Dr.s appt was just more waiting. They say I "might" have had a TIA "mini stroke". She also found that in my yearly blood work from Sept. I have a mild B12 deficiency that my family dr. never informed me of. Basically the first week of March they'll do more blood work to see if the Protein C level is still off, and see if I'm absorbing the B12 I'm to start taking. They're also running a few more test levels, but not really sure what they're for. If the Protein C level is still low then I'll have to see a hematologist for further info. Its so frustrating the whole "wait and see" if you have a clotting problem. What if I do and I have another problem during the "waiting" period? Its awful scary to me.

Anne-Good luck at your weigh in today. We still dont have much snow. I wish we had enough to go sledding, but not quite after it all blew around earlier in the week.

Wendy-I know what you mean about hearing people who have had the same symptoms as you that ended in death. I've had 2 people in the last week share stories with me who didn't even know what I've been going through. It sounds like we'll both be waiting for test results around the same time in March. At least we'll be a good support system for each other.

Courtnie-I just might get a bit drunk tonight at a wedding reception. Depends on if I can bribe someone to drive me home. I think I would've chewed that maid out if she'd woken me up. Sounds like you had a great party. Glad your conference included that for ya.

I hope all are doing well. I had weigh in this morning and I was down a pound! :carrot:
Considering last week I stayed within my points but didnt always make the best choices...and besides snow shovelling, exercise was almost non existent...I am more than pleased! Tomorrow's a new day.Lets make the best of it.

Ok, is it me or is it really quiet in here?

Things went alright yesterday. We took my dad out for dinner...was supposed to be a suprise, but come dinner time he was wondering what mom was going to make for dinner and so she had to tell him. But he enjoyed himself playing with the kids and getting Christopher (8 months) giggling...probably was loud in the restaurant, but thats ok, it was all in fun!

I really did NOT eat very well this weekend at all!! I really have to do some serious workouts this week if I want to see any result next weekend on the scale!! So today I am wearing my pedometer and going to see how that goes and I will be hitting the exercise bike....hoping to get in 45 minutes on the bike!

Hubby was talking about getting me a YMCA membership for a month and seeing how that goes. Not only would it be great for me to get out and get in a good workout. But my 2 year old has been extremely attached to me lately, so much so that he will only want mommy when anyone else is around. I went to weigh in on Saturday and hubby said he cried most of the time...I was only gone 1 hour. He really needs to get used to me being out of the house and to have this membership will give me more of a chance to get out of the house and away from the kids.
But we will have to wait and see. Right now money is really tight, and the debt is getting bigger (hubby was laid off almost 5 months last we are still trying to catch up, so not sure its in the budget).
But who knows. If I can't do it, maybe I will just start taking walks at night and get out of the house. That will help...and it doesnt cost anything!

Well thats all for me this morning. Kids are awake and its time to get them have a good Monday morning everyone!!

02-12-2007, 08:38 AM
Hi ya gals! I got in a nice run this morning.:woops: Unfortunatly my walking buddy was sick so I stuck to the treadmill, but it wasnt so bad. I just turned the news on and listened to my ipod. I hit an all new last week. I didn't exercise 1 single day.:yikes: It was to cold for outdoor walks early in the week and then I had early commitments and couldnt do it. Its been a LONG time since I went that long w/o a workout. Oh well, hope I jump right back on track this week. Its starting off better.

So whats up for today?? I've got a meeting with my pastor to choose hymns for the busy lenten season which is quickly approaching. This afternoon is my long day of teaching also. I should have a nice long break between the 2 things though so wont be to bad.

Wendy-They are pretty sure that if mine was a blood clot, it dissolved itself. My concern is the blood being out of whack in a way that makes me more succeptible to forming more clots. Wouldn't it be nice if they could fix us both up in March. I'll be praying that for both of us.

Anne-Good luck getting your exercise in this week. Does your Y offer daycare for while you workout? My gym does so when I babysit my neice/nephew I can still go get my workouts in. I've been a member so long at my gym that I've taken advantage of renewal specials so I only pay line $7.50 a month for full gym privelidges AND childcare. I cant afford to let my membership expire cuz I'm locked into that low rate if I keep it up. I hope you can work something out to allow for a consistent workout/alone time. Great job on another week of loss!!

Courtnie-I'm afraid to get on the scale for my weigh in following my wedding reception drinking.:fr: Its crazy how much one night can effect the darn scale.

I've got a personal question for everyone. Due to the blood clot questions, I need to switch my birth control. (I've been on the shot for over 10 yrs.) Our first choice is either a vasectomy or tubes tied, but we're only a bit over 30 and have no kids and we're afraid we will have trouble finding someone to do that procedure. What forms do you guys use? Do you like it. I need to stay away from ANY of the hormonal things (pill, ring, shot, etc.) and I just want ideas on what might work until we can find someone to perform a more permanent solution. Thanks.

Have a great day.
Ro & cmom-Hope you had a good weekend.

I'm ok with taking points away. It will be good for all of us to have a bit of a change in the game.

Wendy-Good luck with phase 1. I know you can do it. Have fun dancing tonight. What a fun way to get your exercise in.

cmom-I'm sure I'll goof more than just 1 day! Some things you just have to participate in.

Courtnie-great idea. I hope this gets things moving for all of us.

02-13-2007, 11:24 AM
Taking points away from exercise and water are harder though... unless we set a plan and drink or exercise... and then if we dont stay on plan.... I thought about this too, but didnt know how I would work that in, since I take break days and its not really fair for taking away points when my body needs a break...

unless at the beginning of the game we go "I am going to drink at least 2 liters of water a day and exercise 5 days a week" and then if we dont make that then we take away points?

canadian mom
02-13-2007, 01:50 PM
That sounds fair because we are all on different plans. I try to exercises at least 6 days a week. With the water maybe the chance of it taking from the good eating we are doing will be the push to GET IT IN.

02-13-2007, 06:28 PM
i also think water should be 1 point for 1 liter
esp if we are going to stay taking points away

02-13-2007, 10:14 PM
Well I went and did it. I joined a fitness club. I never thought I would do it, but I need to be able to go and get out of the house. Dylan is getting way too clingy and all he does is cry for me when I try to go anywhere.
But tonight he did pretty well with hubby. I was out for almost 2 hours and he only fussed a bit but hubby distracted it and it went better than expected!

So hopefully tomorrow night I can get out to the gym and see how it goes!!!

Have a great day everyone!

sorry I haven't been posting. I've been really bad lately. I know for sure I will be up at today's weigh in. Ugh!! But thank god for 2nd chances (and 3rd ones, and 4th ones, etc......) Today's a new week and I have to be really good. I have been on ww for 6 weeks now and I have only lost 6 pounds. I know I can do way better than that If I only put my mind to it and stick to it. I know I can stick with it, I just need to try harder!!

anne - wtg on joining the gym! I joined the gym but rarely went...what a waste. I hope you use it to your advantage.

brandy - Snowball fight!!!! I wish it would snow down here!!!

I am with you guys and taking points away too. That's a good idea making goals for the week and then taking points away if we don't accomplish them.

wendy - did u do the slim in 6?? hope you let your body recuperate.

Have a great Valentine's Day everyone!!! Be good!!!!

Ro~ we all know you can do it just jump back on the wagon. You have done well so far any loss is better than none or a gain. I haven't been loosing any so you are 6 up on me.:p The only spot i am loosing now is my thights (which relly is a good thing)

Well i hurt my shoulder the other day exercising. I am one who doesn't take it slow when i start somethiong I do A little too much. Yesterday I took it a little easier on it and today I did more but shoudn't off so now it hurts more.:nono:
They are calling for a winter storm here tonoght. Snow rain and all that , they are calling for 20 cm but who knows how much will acutually fall.

:val3: Happy Valentines :val1:

Courtney my MIL has a boston terrier(odie) and a chiwawa(sp?) (cocoa)She had a bt years ago that got hit by a car so poor old yankiedoodles eyes were really bulging out of his head.

Hi all. Valentines day was an eating binge for me. Darn Coldsotone Creamery! Oh well, its done and in the past and today I will do better. We got enough snow that our family is planning a sledding trip on Saturday. It will be so much fun. I've been wanting a pair of snowshoes and just might go get a cheap pair today so I can hike around the sledding park (and the fields here at home).

Courtnie-Keiko is to cute. Love the pic.

cmom-let that shoulder heal up. I'm also not good on backing away from my exercise, but sometimes it really needs to be done.

Anne-congrats on the gym membership. I hope you love it.

Ro-6 pounds is better than nothing. You are at least making progress. Yes, you are capable of doing better, but dont discredit the work you are doing! Whats your plan for the weekend? Mines gonna be rough due to a bday party so I'm going to try to formulate a plan for what I'll deem "acceptable" that includes a bit of cake and ice cream and try to stick to what I plan. Hopefully that way I'll feel like I'm in control.

Hope you all have a good one.

HI everyone, I'm going to be MIA for a couple days, I have a migrane and it's killin' me. I've already lost 3 pounds because i havent been able to eat for almost 2 days, when I can eat again the pounds will come back.
Keep well ladies

02-15-2007, 03:04 PM
Well, I stayed the same at my wi...phew! I was so bad last week I was sure there was going to be a gain.

Yesterday was a bad day for eating. Had too much junk. But I did get a workout in, so I'm happy about that. I have been really good today so far, and I plan on continuing the workouts. Yay for second chances!!! :carrot:

Tomorrow the bf and I are celebrating V-Day. we Have the day off and we're just going to sleep in and go shopping and get all purty and go out. I don't know where yet since my bf says it's a surprise. I'm kind of nervous because I want to plan and use my points accordingly, but how can I do that if I don't know where we're going???

brandy - i've never been to coldstone but just hearing the name sounds good.....creamery.... lol. sleddign sounds like lots of fun. that should be a workout. Isn't walking in snow like walking in sand???

cmom - you lucky duck!! i would love to lose some fat off the ol' thighs. I hope u rested today and let your shoulder recuperate.

Have a great weekend gals!!! Be safe and happy!!!

Ok, I feel like poop, back to bed for me.

What happened to Keiko? she is trouble! lol

have this dish of rocks you put sented oil on, and I heard her in it and went running to see her chewing something, but the time I got to her she had swallowed it and smell of Lemongrass+Basil I thought she ate a rock. After some procastanating and thinking it wasnt a big deal we ended up at the vets (after calling and them telling me to bring her in right away).

They x-rayed and there was NO rock! phew - dunno what she ate! But they are keeping her for the day cuz she must of had a taste of some oil, but she is going to be just fine!

Hi ya gals and Happy Friday

Hows everyone this fine morning? I'm doing very well. I had a very good day yesterday. I went in search of snowshoes-I've always wanted to snowshoe-and I found a nice pair at Play It Again Sports!!!! What luck. Anyways, I played with them a little bit yesterday and it seems pretty fun. I think I might take them to the state park trail today.

My eating was back on yesterday so I'm happy about that. I've been feeling a bit lazy/bored with my exercise lately so I'm hoping doing something new will help keep me happy.

:coffee: Hey that little guy looks like me at the moment.

cmom-glad your arm seems better. I hope your video goes smoothly and you dont reinjure yourself.

Wendy-Hope your headache goes away soon.

Ro-glad your weigh in didn't show an increase. Good luck staying on plan as you celebrate your V-day today. Its pretty neat that he's got a whole secret thing planned for you-very romantic.  My hubby's great, but we sure get into a rut as far as romance goes.

Anne-Where are you?

Courtnie-Did Keiko get to come home last night?

Keiko did come home last night. It was an expensive trip but she doing just fine!

02-16-2007, 04:18 PM
OK, snowshoeing is kinda hard. Not to mention, the wind chill never got real high and the park is right on the lake. I was freezing!!! It was fun though.

cmom-feel better soon.

02-17-2007, 10:33 AM
Well I weighed myself this morning and I am down 2 pounds. I have been weighing myself in a sweatshirt and sleep pants lately wich is probably where my 2 pounds came from so from now on I am no gonna be wearing the heavy stuff while weighing.

My head is still stuffy and I feel REALLY disconected so I did not exercise again today. I can't wait until I feel better I miss working out. A couple years ago I would never believe I would be saying that.

02-18-2007, 08:36 AM
Yesterday was weigh in day. I lost another 0.6...whats up with that!!! I know its slow and thats a good thing but this slow progress is driving me nuts. I have been staying off the computer this week and trying to get back into the exercise routine.
I went and got a fitness/swim pass at our local recreation centre. I have gone once and all i can say is the elliptical is harder than it looks. Maybe its easy for some, but man my legs are still hurting and I was only able to be on it like 3 minutes. I think I will stick to the treadmill for now.
Next week I plan on trying aquafit. That should be fun. I've heard its a good workout and I want to try something new.

Well off today to watch the Daytona 500...we are big racing fans so this is a very exciting day!!! Hope you all have a good weekend!

in the next game can we count soups as fluids (water intake) Because the recomandation is fluids not just water.

Well I have exersised the past 2 days even thought I am sick obviously I have modified it but I just can't go without it. I have been eating even thought I am not hungry so hopefully when i get better I do not go overboard because my body will not be starving.

02-19-2007, 12:00 PM
soup can be counted as a fuild intake, but I dont see it being 'water' - they say water is anything that is 0 calories - however; I don't count any diet drinks or anything because I dont think they are good for you (I still drink them though! haha). When you do weight watchers, they say the typical 8 glasses of water a day, and you can subsitute one (or is it 2?) with a diet drink.

Soup, IMO is a snack!

For me, I have my 4 liters of water a day (weekends is usually 2) - on top of any soup, coffee, diet coke etc.

I do think that the water should be 1 point a liter and not 2 for 2 liters

I was down 1.4 this weekend :) I want expecting a loss at all!

I think we should leave the game the way it was, that way we won't be getting confused about all the new changes. What do you think?

I also think that if soup is going to be considered a water intake so should veggies, pop, coffee, tea, etc. I consider soup to be a meal in itself. Yep, I prefer it the old way...

02-20-2007, 09:49 AM
Hi gals, my weekend was fun and busy. Our sledding trip was fun but I came home with a black eye after having a close encounter witha snowbank. I ate terrible on Sunday, but that is in the past now. (thus, I have no loss, but also no gain for the week) I'm on to a healthier week now.

Today I start my art class again after a 2 month break. Its gonna be such fun. I really need to get my creative level in gear again. I have lots of students this afternoon for lessons and then bible study tonight. Its gonna be busy but so much fun.

Anne-Congrats on the loss. Hang in there with the dissappointment of the small loss. You're doing the work and the scale will keep showing it. Slow is much better than not moving.

Courtnie-Congrats on the loss

Wendy-hope you're feeling better

02-20-2007, 11:45 AM
I know for me personally, I am going to start subtracking points if I eat something bad :) but we dont have to change the rules, haha

Hi ya'll! This has not been a very good month for our family or me. Example last week we sat in the ER with dd and a speeding teen drove down our road and didn't have time to stop of course. To dh and my relief she didn't freeze and stand there. She said she closed her eyes and jumped. She's over her sprained ankle. The vechile did somehow get her shoe and carried it down the road. She had a few scratches and nicks on her fingers, hands, and one wrist. So needless to say I've lost track on the paper I was counting points on for the second week. Last week I didn't even keep track! I was sick and still don't feel the best but I'm doing better. I kinda went back to putting me last. I know I shouldn't so I working on turning that around again. Well, I'm off to get caught up on the reading. Hope everyone's doing good today.

hsmom-I'm so happy that your DD was not seriously hurt. You are so lucky. I cant even imagine the stress you've been through. I hope you can take a day just for you soon, but you definetly had to shift your focus.

Shari-I'm glad you weren't seriously hurt. Take care of those knees and if they are still sore in a week maybe you should get them looked at. Congrats on the apt.

Wendy-did you make it up early for your DVD? Hope things are off to a great start for your challenge.

Courtnie-Hope your challenge goes well. I couldn't think of anything to give up this year. Actually I've never really given anything up for Lent before either. I'm not sure why.

Well, my life will be very busy until Easter. Lots and lots of music to learn and play. I am very relieved the choir is not doing a cantata because that helps lower my stress tremendously. I'm trying to not go back on my *antidepressant* and use the natural version this season. I'm not sure its strong enough but with all thats going on in my body I feel like I should at least try to stay off what I can.

Morning ladies. I hope you're all having a great day. I had a really good night at church and choir last night. We had an effective rehersal and we agreed to rotate with the bell choir and only practice every other week during lent. This will be SO nice. We've never done it and I'm hoping it works well so we'll always do this during advent and lent.

I'm off to the art store to pick up some supplies today. I'd like to get going on a new project today. Hopefully things will fall into place.

The points look ok, but my dinners sometimes dont happen until after 7:30 so I wont subtract points for eating a healthy dinner no matter what time it is.

Wendy-good job on the exercise!

hsmom-I hope your family is all feeling better.

02-22-2007, 11:49 AM
I think they look great.

I like the idea of the after 7:30 thing and I dont because they say it doesnt really matter what time you eat! but i think its a good addition and will really help some of us who tend to snack in the evenings.

Wide in Winnipeg

Hi Girls!
Ya, I was thinking about that 7:30 thing. I mean if you usually eat around that time it wouldnt work right so how about we change it to 8:30?
We eat at 6:00 here so I may want a handful of grapes before 8:30, as long as it's a healthy snack right? I tend to snack at around 10:00 at night for some reason thats why I threw that in there.
Today will be going to the bank, working out and doing some laundry, what excitement! LOL!
Have a good one!

Morning all!

Wendy, when does the new game start?

I'm feeling better after sleeping all day yesterday and taking some Advil. I'm going back to work tomorrow. I called my apartment manager and was told that they haven't started working on my apartment yet which means my move in date has been pushed back. Which is fine with me, I understand that there were alot of other tenants ahead of me (that's why I wasn't able to get a two bedroom). That also gives me more time to get the gas company out there and get a truck to move all my stuff. I also have to start looking for a night job because part time at the VA isn't going to pay all my bills.
