Just staring off the weekend early. I have to go to bed soon since DH and I are hoping to go to a 7:30 a.m. Yoga class tomorrow. I'm excited...I've missed Yoga and DH has never been. I've never met anyone less flexible than that man...he NEEDS to do Yoga!!!
Hope we'll both be awake enough that our upward dogs don't turn into downward face-plants. ;) :coffee: :tired:
Have a great weekend, Beachies! Stay warm!
01-20-2007, 08:21 AM
I should hope you're off to bed soon! :nono: You need more sleep, Supergal.
I snoozed until 6 this morning - the Girls must know it's the weekend. It's back to cold weather again today but the sky is clear in the east so a sunny day is in store for us. I plan to hibernate except for a trip to the dump and another to take the bulletins to the Church. Whoops! The plow just went by so I guess I'll be shovelling the hump away from the end of my lane before I go anywhere - good exercise, I keep telling myself!
What's on your agenda? :cofdate:
01-20-2007, 08:51 AM
:coffee: It's so nice to come downstairs in the morning and find coffee already made! Yeay Saturdays!!!
There's a dusting of snow out there and it's really gusty, a nice morning to stay at home. I do need to get out later though and pick up a few groceries. I noticed I have silver spray paint all over my glasses when I went to clean them this morning! Darn it! The girls and I made a rocket out of a heavy construction tube yesterday and took it outside to paint it, and the wind must have blown the spray on my glasses! Would cleaning the lenses with a paint solvent hurt them, do you think?
Kiko ~ CONGRATULATIONS for finally getting the good news you've been waiting for! I'm so happy for you, Sweetie!
Beachgal ~ Do you ever sleep? I don't know how you manage to stay up so late. Oh, to be young again! Have fun at your yoga class, don't make DH overdo it!
Ruth ~ Sounds like a nice day to cozy up by the fire. Watch your back when shoveling that snow.
Time to refill my cup and get the oatmeal going. Have a wonderful day!
01-20-2007, 08:56 AM
Cottage, are they glass or plastic lenses? If plastic, don't use the solvent on them! I'd give an optometrist a call.
Thanks for mentioning oatmeal. I have to start eating hot cereal these cold morning. Red River is my favourite to make in the crockpot overnight.
Time to crank up the day as it's nearly eight! :yikes:
01-20-2007, 09:04 AM
Sun Salutations :yoga: All
Gosh what a chatty :gossip: bunch yesterday! So much to catch up on! But first:
KIKO! :congrat: to you and DH - I bet even though you've been stress eating you feel like you lost 10lbs off yer shoulders!
Barb: Wheew! Those layoffs are never ending..so stress producing..glad you survived another round.
Cottage: Are you at Curves? Stay warm and off them icy roads!
Tar: Sounds like you are doing the right thing.. better to keep the pooch away from the kidlets!
Ruth: did you REALLY have a semi hibernating day yesterday  Slow Down thar Speedracer!
Kim: New office mate! Ah just give her some pens, paper,a stapler and paperclips and name tent and stick her in the break room fer now
Phins: yumolah! :T: I haveta try just baking tomato and mozzarella! Never could get to like V8. I have a case of it that DH bought.. I might start doing half and half Tomato juice and V8 to use it. :chin:
Karen31: :cp: :cheer2: on the 4 pounds loss AND exercising! You are doing greeeeaaat!
Jet: :dancer: That is OUTSTANDING!!!!!! Congrats on the loss !!!!
Morning Star: :( Take care of yerself Doll
Sarahu: You must be on :cloud9: My gfren is an amazing quilter and she has some super machine thats all computerized with an embroidery cd that you stick in and pick the icon you want to embroider..Amazing! We made doggie paw Xmas stockings a few years back with the pups names embroidered on them. I have to check out your web to see the dolls..What a loving thing to do!
RNMOM: I feel fer ya darlin! Hang in thar Babalooie! The last class I had the instructor spent the majority of the time "selling" us on joining the PMI.org, the local chapters etc..I swear he was a plant to get membership up!
LC: Does DH act like he has the plague? Mine does :dz:
Mamajok:  I love Lil Bear in the Avatar and the caption fits purrrrfectly! What is a condo/house exchange??
Stinger: thats Cheap... It's $2.17 for regular here...
Lubajo: What a loverly tradition to have with your daughters !
Soon:  my little baboo...How is the job going? Are you going to try to become a manager ?
Food was CRAPTACULAR yesterday... so today must be extra conscious of what I eat. But all my chores are done, so I can spend the day on studying..and learning more about self contracting our house. We met with one designer who seems not as knowledgeable as one would be after in the biz for 20 years. Then I called another place, and me and the gal really hit it off just over the phone. Her rates are lower, and said all the "right" things (according to what I've read at least). We're going to have her meet us at the property this week with the developer to first figure out house placement, perc test site, and septic field area... fun fun fun. DH and I also have done a rough baseline approximate cost... Did you know that if you decide to build a house and you get a general contractor to handle the management of it , securing sub contractors etc, that his take is between a 1/4, to 1/3 of the house total cost?!! Done through "labor" and material mark ups! :faint: Unbelieveable!! So that's just more incentive to be our own GC and get the bids and do the site supervision.
Time for more CAWFEE!! :coffee: I'll take the pups fer an extra long walk and then get back to it :book2: . Have a FABU day chicadooooos :flow2: :flow1:

Good morning all,
I am off to visit my 93 year old Aunt in the hospital. It's a 2 hour drive down and 2 hours up in one day. Not too bad. Just waiting for my Mom to down drive so we can go together.
Last night I missed work out for a dinner at Damons. It was my be-lated birthday since we could not afford to go in September. YUM YUM. Now it's back to the beach again. I guess if your going to splurge you should save it for the 'big one'.
Well thats all for now. Enjoy yor coffee, your doggies and your children this weekend.
01-20-2007, 10:49 AM
Cottage I got your PM- thanks girl!
BeachGal I am amazed at the amount of sleep you can function on! You will be well prepared for babies. :bb:
Schatzi I am with you on the craptacular eating yesterday. I was ree-dic-you-lous!!!!!! Here's to a much improved day today. Your house contracting sounds so exciting! I will live vicariously through you as my DH and I would screw that all up. :)
Ruth Send some sun this way!! It has been raining and gloomy for the last week. :sunny: Enjoy your day!
Barb I am sure the layoff times are always so stressful. I am so glad to hear that your job is secure. I hear you on daycare- Abigail will still be in afterschool care next year since we will be in different school districts.
Me- Thanks for all the well wishes on DH's job. We are so psyched and although it will take us a few months to get caught up on things, just knowing that we will be able to is a wonderful feeling. :)
Today is a grocery run, a trip to the library, maybe a trip to see my mom. One of the women from my Bible study group invited us over for dinner. I don't know her well and have never met her husband. I don't normally branch out like this, but figured why not? She has 3 teenagers, and her daughter loves my girls. We will see, eating will be tricky as I don't know her well enough to ask what is for dinner. If it is totally illegal I will just nibble....
Off to scour the ads for the week and plan meals. :chef:
Thank you for all of your support girls- I really mean it!! I love ya like sisters !!!!!
01-20-2007, 12:08 PM
Morning all!! I'm actually on here before noon for a change!
I have today off, but I have some major cleaning to do (one of Mike's vendors is coming over tonight to go over a part time job for him. I personally thinks is a scam, butif Mike wants to waste his time listening to his crap, so be it!) I'm going out tonight with a few girls. We're going to California Pizza...grr not exactly what I wanted, but at least I know what I'm dealing with tonight & I can plan the rest of my meals today.
Schatzi - I'm a manager (I was promoted back in April) but I'm still learning my job. At my other stores, things were done very differently. So when I do what I know, I guess it doesn't meet my boss's expectations. I hate disappointing her, but I think she knows that I'm giving her 100%. I'll get it, gotta get through the transition time!
Kiko - Sounds like fun, I'm sure the food won't be that far off track. Enjoy your evening!
Stinger - enjoy your visit w/ your aunt!
Cottage - I agree, I like to have coffee already made when I get up. I'm usually pretty good at setting my timer for the machine.
Ruth - I snoozed in this morning too, but it wasn't 6am, more like 10. I've been so tired lately (or lazy, who knows!) I'm with you, I'm going out later w/ the girls, but the rest of the day I'm staying home where it warm & I have my little Phoebe to keep me company.
Laurie - GET SOME SLEEP LADY!!!! Enjoy your yoga class!!
OK, I'm off to clean - be back later. Take care!
01-20-2007, 12:36 PM
Hello everyone -
It sounds like I missed an exciting day yesterday in chat. It was busy at work and we had tickets to a hockey game last night, so I never found time to get on line and chat. I will see if I can get to it later today.
Thankfully, we had a good dinner last night before the game and there were peanuts to curb the snack attack that hit at the game!
Today we have to run errands, including the grocery store for more veggies, and then we have dinner plans with friends. I think I heard DH mention wings, which will be far from healthy (especially a the "dive bar" we usually go to for them), but we'll see. I did use the elliptical this morning, so at least one good thing for me! And we will have salad for lunch!
Enjoy some relaxation.
01-20-2007, 02:12 PM
Gooooood Moooorning all you Beach Chickies!!!
Well...after a crazy night at my favorite mexican restaurant...I'm ready to get back on track!! those margaritas I drank really kicked my butt!! I ate some chips too but my dinner was OP...grilled chicken smothered with sauted veggies. MMmmm it was good.
I had a great breakfast...oatmeal pancake and V8 juice...and my coffee with Stevia in it. I feel pretty good right now. Gonna go for a walk after while...and drink a little extra water...to counteract the dehydration from the tequila! Well...I'm off to the pet store to buy some flea shampoo!
I'll holla at you chicks later!

Hi Everyone-I have spent the last couple days working for a temp agency packing orders in a warehouse walking walking constantly walking but not breaking a sweat-made it to the gym Thursday, but not last night-a friend was supposed to be bring me her mother's cat-but the cat freaked out and took off-so eeek-
Came home after work yesterday-and after a day of rain all the snow was gone and it was actually wierd seeing all the grass again. I was like-"Why does the yard look so diffrent?"
Today was going to go get a ton of hay-but both hay barns I have been buying from are sold out-is a bad winter for that-should have seen it coming, but had no where to store more than a ton at a time-eeek what is plan B?
For this weekend I will get some from the feed store-but at 15 dollars a bale-eeeek. Have a couple calls in to other people to see if they have ideas.
Need to get back in the kitchen and prepare myself to be good. Had made some macaroon type cookies and they were gone in like 2 days but were REALLY light on the coconut-threw in a few chocolate chips and they were much better for me than the regular chocolate chip cookies I was tempted to throw together. Might pick up some coconut extract and give that a go ---PRETEND there is actual coconut I guess.
ok better get at it.
01-20-2007, 03:49 PM
Good Morning Girls...it's almost noon here.
Hey! Our snow is almost all melted and I am sooooooooo happy, now I can go p/u little tootsie rolls that Lil Bear has left all over the yard! I normally p/u the little bouquets right when he goes but NOT in that cold weather and a foot of snow.
I spent all morning studying the Old Testament so my brain feels a bit strained. I know the OT fairly well (the main stories) but this study is about the Bible Jesus read and his jewishness. This is just the beginning of a very long course of Jewish/Christian faith. Wish me well girls, my poor ol' brain is not used to this in-depty studying.
I feel I am losing more weight (afraid to run to the scale until it's time) because my clothes are fiting much better with some being a bit too baggy.
Shatzi - A Condo/House exchange is 'trading homes' for a time (anywhere from 1 week to several) with another family any where in the world. This is a great way to have a vacation without paying for motels/hotels, eating out, etc. One can even trade cars for the duration. I had friends that did this and loved it. We have signed up for either Italy, France, Greece or Spain.
You girls that have gone out to dinner and/or are going out to dinner, I think it's great you plan ahead not only what you will eat but how to eat during the day before you go. Planning in the key.
To all those I have not commented on, please know I have read all your posts and truly care about you and want you to succeed in not only your weight goals but in what ever/where ever life leads you. I have battled this challenge for over 50 years and have never given up...neither should you.
Blessings to you all,
I love you sis!

Hey Mamajok-your post reminded me of the quote-The only time you fail is the LAST time you try.
Your cutie patootie poochie looks so adorable after his spa day.
01-20-2007, 07:25 PM
Mamajok I love the study of Christ in the O.T. and the Hebraic roots of our faith. I do teachings on the feast, Messiah in O.T. etc...I hope this study is a blessing for you. I love...love...love...that type of a study myself. I have been blown away by the things I have learned. I pray that God will use this study to blow your mind and bring you even closer to him.

Hi Girls. Late today...The area we live in is called"Behind The Redwood Curtain". Often forgotten by people who think North CA. ends just past Santa Rosa...and by leaders in Sacramento. Today we lost our communication via computer, cell phone etc. for over 10 hours...Something to do with a major fire to a tower...No way to charge by credit cards, groceries clothes etc. in any of the stores...Just by cash. Good thing I didn't need any thing.
I missed getting my E-Mail and checking with you girls earlier in the day.
Company coming over this evening to play cards and eat Pop Corn. Jello for me...
Birthday party tomorrow for little grandson...Age 2...terrible 2s...He is so cute...curly hair and all...
Hope you girls had an enjoyable day.
Sis: Maybe Tuesday morning...10-10:30?
01-21-2007, 08:35 AM
Aaaarrrrggggghhhhh! I ate Christmas cake last night - and I don't even like the stuff! Lucy got the rest of it off the counter and gobbled it up. I guess she was saving me from myself. Oh well, clean eating today for sure!
Schatzi GCing is a lot of work but you certainly will save a bundle. DH #1 (sequence, not a ranking) was an architect and we went through the house building thing once. It wasn't fun but I sure learned a lot and we saved a lot.
Stinger after waiting so long, I'm sure your birthday dinner won't screw you up. Clean eats and water, my dear!
Kiko how did the dinner and evening go? It's good to branch out a bit, isn't it? I should do that more often.
Soon how did it go at CA Pizza? Did you have salad or cave? A whole wheat, thin crust vegetarian pizza would be acceptable.
Amasam, how did the evening with friends go? I really love wings and would have found it very hard to resist.
Phins Mmmmmargaritas! That's my favourite summer drink, I think. Glugging water sure will help the after effects. Did you ever try garlic caps for flea control?
WildWoman I wish I could send you some hay. It was a big summer for hay around here and they are practically giving it away.
Mamajok your fur-baby cleans up really well. He is just adorable! At least the Tootsie rolls are small! Wanna trade? I've been battling my weight for as long as you have and you are right - we will never give up!
Lubajo losing connections sure screws up life, doesn't it? Too bad they can't just switch back to the old-fashioned ways.
It's just first light here and look like a decent day - cold but it is January I keep telling myself. I seem to be chilly most of the time and know it's not from losing weight. I hope I don't turn into one of those old women who is always complaining about the cold!
I'm off to Church in less than an hour and had better go and tiddle up. I re-organized my closet the other day which should make life a bit easier. I'm even caught up on laundry. This afternoon I will go to visit Harry aka Mr Crabby. :( I will take a dog and my knitting which always makes the visits a bit easier. Roast chicken is on the menu for tonight so I'd better get my timing right and go earlier in the afternoon but after his nap.
Have a brilliant day, Beach Babes!
01-21-2007, 08:59 AM
Good sunday morning chicks, the sun is shinning, but it is cold here again today. Sorry I was not around yesterday, had to teach my dance class in the morning, then went to my sister in laws for lunch, then we went shopping, came home vaccumed my carpet and it blew dust every where which then meant opening the windows and then I had to dust everything on the bottome level of the house. DH helped what little bit he could. Then decided that I would have a chicken burger ( not the good kind ) and chips for a late supper, went to bed. This morning I am paying for the chips and burger, why do we do this to ourselves. Sorry that was quiet the ramble. Well I have to dash, I work this afternoon, after having three weeks off from the store not sure I want to go back, hopefully the candy drawer is empty I have to do cash today, I think I will bring some carrots with me, ramble ramble again. Well chicks have a great day I will try to pop in after work. Have a great day.
01-21-2007, 09:32 AM
Well, so much for Church! Lucy just crunched up my glasses! She did this three times a year ago but hasn't munched them since 3 Jan 2006. I've just crammed her full of yicky white bread from burger buns that were in the freezer. I don't think she ate much glass as the lenses were almost whole but I need to be sure. Darn dog!

Good Morning Ladies...
Ruth so sorry about the glasses! You're right, we won't give up! I think I've been on every diet known to woman - some work, some don't, it's all trial and error. The diet ladder has been quite an adventure and a very real challenge to say the least. The one thing I know I will do this time around once I reach goal weight is to weigh myself every day and if I gain two pounds it's back OP! Oh, by the way...I'll stick to tootsie rolls!:smug:
Schatzi - We almost decided to build again (both my DH and I had been through the experience with our first marriages) then we decided we were getting too old to go through that again, hence the condo route. BUT, I still have itchy feet to try again. No matter how carefully one plans you can always say "I wish we would have done that a bit differently." It's great fun!
Stinger - Happy belated Birthday! :hb: Thanks for the encouragement. I have studied the Bible for over 40 years but not from this angle and I am finding it very exciting.
Kiko - Hi sis! What was served for dinner and how did you handle it?
Soon - We just have to pick out the best for us...most Pizza places offer low-fat, low carb, whatever one needs one can get in a Pizza...good choice is the bottom line.
Amasam, I love blue cheese dip with wings...yummy! What is a 'dive' bar?
WildWoman - Thanks for the quote!
Sis - wondered why I hadn't heard from you...miss you when we don't email. I have class:exercise: on tues mornings sis...we can try for later in the day?
Me - Had a busy day again...studies :book2: bright and early, did some sewing (have to hem everything I buy (short legs!) then on our way to church last night we had to stop and put the pics of the condo on a CD so I can upload them later. Dropped DH off for his prep class for his mission in Mississippi...I went shopping, had to go to a drug store the other end of town to p/u Lil Bear med...then back to church, afterwards, go back and p/u CD and some pink thread for more sewing today! We finally made it home, got ready for bed, sat down with our nightly class (4oz) of red wine and I almost fell into bed a few short moments later...I hate having to run around doing errands!:fr:
Today, sew and relax! Love you sis!
01-21-2007, 12:03 PM
Ruth No I haven't tried Garlic Caps...do they really work...down here in the south...our winters don't really get cold enough to freeze out any bugs at all...so we can have problems! My DH went to the vet and they gave us a pill and some more flea drops and said to give her the pill...then a flea bath then in a couple of days to put the drops on her We'll see. I may have to give the garlic a try tho...she has a very sensitive stomach...could the garlic make her sick?...
Well..I'm gonna go make my breakfast.
be back later
01-21-2007, 01:15 PM
DH and I are in the process of cleaning the fish tank - he tends to delay until I complain that it is REALLY dirty! Then it takes so much longer. But, it will be pretty again soon!
Last night was defintely not on plan. Pretty much, if I should not have had it, I did: beer, wings (honey hot flavor), fries and cheese sticks. It did taste wonderful though - though as a rule that much grease has my tummy asking why I did it! Started this morning with oatmeal and expect to stay on plan for quite a while!
A dive bar is a local joint without much elegance or decoration, small/dirty bathrooms, lots of cigarette smoke to linger on your clothes, with lots of sports watching, pool tables and dart boards. They tend to serve great bar food - deep fried and unhealthy. And while there are chain wing places that are fine, if we want good ones we hit one of these bars.
DH has afternoon plans, so I plan to curl up on the couch with a new book, the Tivo, some hot tea and relax! Enjoy your Sunday.
01-21-2007, 01:24 PM
Just got back from church and thought I would check in.
Ruth That stinks about your glasses! I would imagine that will screw up your plans for the day. :(
Amasam Just get yourself back on today! (Your menu from the bar sounds divine! :))
Mama I just did my first Bible study back in the fall and really liked it. The next women's study starts up in 2 weeks, and I am reallyh looking forward to it.
Me- Dinner last night was really fun! It couldn't have worked out more perfect because when I got there I noticed the SB cookbook out on her counter. :) She and her DH are trying to get back on the beach, so she made the Chicken Capri, a chickpea recipe, and a huge green salad. Isn't that funny? We enjoyed some merlot and good conversation. My girls were really well behaved and it was just an overall nice evening. Now tonight is dinner at the in-laws, but will be no where near OP. I may call and offer to cook, my MIL always appreciates that.
Okay, the troops are hungry, I need to go! Lots of good sports on today, so we will chill while the wee one naps. Oh, and the sun is shining here!!!!!! First time in over a week. :sunny:
01-21-2007, 01:31 PM
Ruth ~ Lucy seems to have a penchant for glasses, doesn't she? That's a shame yours are ruined, do you keep a spare pair around? Thanks for your advice about cleaning the paint off mine. I'm just using lens cleaner, and it's working a little at a time. At least I can still see through them in the meantime!
This morning we went to breakfast at Cracker Barrel, then went to Walmart for a bit of shopping. I needed to stock up on my DaVinci syrups and paper products, and ended up spending over $100 on other assorted sundries!! It's amazing how things add up. Next time I need to leave Jake at home, he's as bad as a little kid, wanting this and that.
I'm enjoying a little quiet time right now, but the kids will all be coming over later. I'm making a big turkey dinner with all the trimmings, just got in the mood for it. I plan to stay completely OP, though, and am going to search the recipe boards for a good SB friendly dessert, maybe something using pumpkin. Snow is in the forecast for tonight, maybe we'll get enough for the little ones to play in!
01-21-2007, 02:10 PM
Morning everyone, well I did cave at California Pizza... I started with a salad & then had 2 pieces of BBQ chicken pizza ( I know food porn!) But we then walked around the mall for 2 hours & I'm down 2 more lbs this morning....how does that work? I didn't feel that great afterwards. Went to bed & I slept until noon today.
Well I thought I would have a relaxing day at home, but we have to venture out because we are out of toilet paper.....of all things.
Ruth - your little Lucy just loves glasses...I remember the last time she did that. Hopefully she is ok.
Little Chick - sounds like you're a busy chick!
mamajok - enjoy your day!
Phins - hi, hope you enjoyed your breakfast.
Ally - My tummy wasn't happy w/ me either...hope yours calms down soon!
Kiko - glad you had fun at dinner, enjoy your sports!
Cottage - you've been busy....can I come over for dinner - sounds great!!
I'm off to get into the shower & have some coffee. Take care!!
01-21-2007, 03:17 PM
WOW-everyone is so busy
LittleChick-how old are the kids you teach class to? When my niece was living with me that is all she talked about (I wanna go to dance class, I wanna do ballet....etc etc) UNTILL that is I signed her up and took her-the teacher as wonderful and the other kids were her age-but it was a control thing for Ryley.
Ruth, I had 2 labrador puppies for several months they ate EVERYTHING-ABSOLUTELY EVERTHING-they were truly evil omg, I think the problem was having 2 siblings and they fed offf each other behavior wise-it was very funny watching them wrestle etc-but once a frined was dogsitting for a week and when they were outside they ate the trim around the windows-had 40 acres to run on and forests and lagoon etc-but NO they ATE the house.
I didnt make it to church today myslef-was on phone for a long time again with a friend that is wanting to go into business together-which would mean relocate start from scratch etc-and brainstorming long distance is proving to be interesting. My boyfriend is already in another state (Oregon)-so what would it matter if I moved to a diffrent one (Arizona)? he has 2 daughters still at home, and to be honest with you I dont see that getting terribly serious until they are grown, BUT-his mother and step dad are excellent resources-same profession as me and the best in the country-need them on board.
I dont know if it would work for dogs too-but Apple Cider Vinegar given to horses helps with so many health concerns-and parasites is one thing that is kept at bay-and it only takes 1/4 cup a day-so I would think dogs would only need a minute amount.
I LOVE finding people to share SBD stuff with-at confrences and church-when it is my turn to bring refreshments for fellowship-I always bring bean brownies and other things that are legal-fun to talk about and the diabetics and ppl with wheat allergies really love it too. :-)
Ok need to get to the gym and go feed the critters.
Think I will weigh myself in the morning and update my ticker-need to ony do that one day a week and not be psychotic about it.
Take care everybody
01-21-2007, 03:51 PM
I couldn't find my can of pumpkin, I know I have some, so I made that tempting Incredible Chocolate Cake instead. It's cooling right now, and I made the Peanut Butter Icing for it, too. I sampled the icing, and it's DIVINE! Now the trick will be - can I stop at just one piece? I'll eat it s-l-o-w-l-y and put any leftover in the freezer.
Soon ~ You're welcome to come on over! It's starting to smell yummy here with the turkey roasting!
01-21-2007, 03:57 PM
Sounds like a busy weekend for everyone. Sorry about your glasses, Ruth. Seems like we've always had at least one cat we had two watch what they would eat. Diesel likes the cord to miniblinds so most are tied up or replaced with curtains.
I ended up working Friday night until 12:30AM Saturday morning and then had to get up at 6 to be at the Wood Badge Staff Development session. That lasted all day. It was a dreary wet day too. Last night we got to bed on time but it was still hard getting up this morning.
We made it to Sunday school and church on time. Now DH and Brian are off to a birthday party/bowling and I'm getting ready to head to the grocery store. I'm going to the Scout District Dinner tonight and I'll just have to do the best with the food. This week is going to be tough foodwise. I've planned on plan meals but many are quick to make or crockpot meals (chili - YUM) because I have something planned every evening from tonight to next Saturday.
I know I'm busy because I have two episodes of ER to watch that DH taped for me and I haven't had time to watch them. I'll get caught up eventually.

I have been doing a lot of crockpot meals too-last week was chili-good thing I dont mind the same thing meal after meal-I think I got 7 out of that.
Just got one in there with whole wheat pasta ground beef, olives and tomato sauce-just topped some off with cheese and am yumming it up for lunch-now to see how long the pot provides.
I have all the stuff for the cheesecake Jetsetter recomended-maybe I will get back in the kitchen and make that before I head out.

Good Sunday evening, everyone.
We're back from our weekend trip...dry and safe with a mere 7" of fresh snow on the driveway. Ugh!! Thankfully, all of the highways and major city streets are clear and dry. Yesterday, I didn't do too horribly as I made chili for lunch and chicken fajitas for supper (I had mine on a bed of lettuce instead of in a tortilla). However, I really blew the entire plan today. Pancakes for breakfast, fried pork chop for lunch (though I did skip the potatoes and gravy and loaded up on steamed broccoli), and then crackers as a snack on in the car on the way home. Yes, my stomach is mad at me. Next time we make that (or any) trip, I'm taking an entire cooler of food with me.
Oh well, tomorrow is a new day, and will be a detox Phase I day to boot. Think I'm going to check the fridge and see what I have that I can make for the week's breakfasts. Perhaps I'll do the cheesecake thing, as well.

Hello everyone! The weekend is going by quickly. Went for my 3mile walk We were hiking yesterday and my son got a tick. Got most of it out. But there was alittle bit lest. Luckily the dermatoligist is a friend of ours and we went and had the rest removed. A few sitches. My son thinks he is mortally wounded. My motheris sitting beside me knitting me a sock. She does beautiful work. My parents dog is over here and will take him for a walk soon. Have a great rest of the week.

Jetsetter-couldnt find the recipe again-so I made it from memory-how manyy servings is that supposed to be? I added a little almond extract for flavor to most of the batter-had taken out about 1/2 cup pf the batter and mixed in some SF strawberry jam and swirled that in-looks quite yummy and is VERY tasty-but...ummm.........I cut it into 16 pieces and already had 2 :o
Morning Star-EW A TICK????? how old is your son? and he needed stiches after havng the rest removed???? Guess I've always been lucky or we just dont have that many on this side of the state.
Hand knit socks would be wonderful-what color is she doing?
