Happy Friday!!!!

Shatzi, I can't believe you were up so darn early!!

I'm off to wake up the girls and get the day started. I was up a few minutes early and thought I'd log on to check out a couple of things before the craziness starts.

01-19-2007, 07:59 AM

Schatzi Climbing back in under the covers sounds dee-vine! Enjoy your day and stay warm.

Jet I am "sneaking" on myself- I know better b/c I did not get up early, but I do so much better when I start my day off with the chicks. Is this the weekend you are traveling to your parents?

Too much food yesterday, although it was all legal. I need to do a good three day run to get ready for WI on Monday.

Gotta go.... time to wake the troops. :)

01-19-2007, 08:08 AM
Morning, Chicks!
I'm sitting here debating whether or not I'm game enough to go take the girls to school this morning, it's my turn, but I'm hearing on the radio that there are a lot of accidents because of icy roads.:fr: I don't do well on slippery roads, they used to not bother me, but as I'm getting older, well. Cindy has a Pilates class, but Richard might have time to drop them off before he goes to the office. I'm actually surprised that the schools don't have a delay.
Well, let me give them a call and see what's going on, I'll be back later.

01-19-2007, 08:23 AM
Good morning Schatzi & jetsetter! It's a cold morning here today. The coffee is a brewing and I've cranked the heat up. I'm waiting for the little ones to arrive to daycare. Just thought I'd drop by and wish everyone a great SB day! I've gotta go feed my poochie. I just let her out to go potty and she's got her nose up to the window staring inside as if to say "Please let me back in cause it's COLD out here!!!" At dinner time when she smells the food cooking she does the same thing except she'll stand up on the window and scratch at the window until she gets someone's attention! She cracks me up. Unfortunately, I have to keep her out until daycare kids go home because she has shown some aggressions towards kids other than hers. (My 3) I'm thinking it's because of her breed? She's an Akita and the research that I've done on them points to it being that. My dh got her for me last Christmas without doing research on the breed and now we've grown attached to her but I still have to do daycare and we can't stand the thought of finding her a new family. Ok, I've rambled long enough. I think the coffee has kicked in and now I'm all hopped up on caffeine! LOL! Have a grrreat day girls! I'll check back later!

01-19-2007, 08:25 AM
Cottage and Kiko sorry I missed you! I must have been in the middle of my post! Everyone have a great day!!!

01-19-2007, 08:27 AM
I was up earlier but the Girls were in full "demand mode" and I had to quickly figure out a breakfast as I forgot to thaw their food. How does sardines, Wheatabix cereal and raw egg sound to you? No? That's what I thought.

Shatzi, good for you hitting the books first thing in the morning. Gets it over with. Too bad they don't have a brain chip to be inserted for each course you take.

Jetsetter and Kiko, I love seeing your shining faces early in the morning so am glad you have a chance to pop in. I'm trying for an exemplary weekend too although I don't have a weigh-in.

Cottage, if possible, stay off the darned icy roads. I hit a couple of bad patches on my trip to town yesterday - not fun!

Donna cancelled out yesterday - hubby problems -but will be here "nine-ish". We shall see. At least the tidying is all done. If she doesn't show, I'll be looking for a new cleaning person yet again. :(

It's an "at home" day and weekend for me. I intend to semi-hibernate with my books, knitting, dog cuddling and an afternoon nap or two. That's the plan anyhow. I get bored with myself sometimes and may finally put the border up in the kitchen and do some sewing.

Have a shiny day!

01-19-2007, 08:33 AM
Hey Tar675, we were simul-posting too. I understand about your problem with your darling doggie - it is a breed and pack thing. Even my two "pussycats" get aggressive when someone invades our family. Of course, the safest solution in a daycare situation is to just keep dog and kids apart.

01-19-2007, 09:53 AM
Ruth...Yeah, I know but I hate making her stay outside all day. I've got to find her a house so she has some shelter from the weather while she is out. (One that won't brake my pocketbook!! My front porch has an awning over it but if the wind is blowing and it's raining some of it makes it to the porch. Right now I have a big fuzzy blanket out there for her. I keep checking the classifieds for a used dog house but no luck so far. I'll keep looking! I have this one little boy who is mean to animals and I guess Shy knows it cause she really doesn't like him at all! I have to be very careful when he's arriving or leaving. She acts as if he could be her next meal! Well, I better go for now I have more chores to do but I'll swing by later.

01-19-2007, 09:57 AM
I got lucky and didn't have to face the roads, Richard said he could take the girls. By the time I have to get them at noon, it will have warmed up and the roads will be fine. I just finished a little cleaning and gave the kitchen floor a good mopping. Now I can just relax and enjoy a pot of tea without feeling guilty.
I think the girls and I will spend the day at home today, the plumber promised the water will be turned back on and some things put back into place. They've been wanting to start making homemade Valentines for their classmates, and with about 40 kids between the 2 of them, we better get started now. We'll stop at the crafts store on the way home to pick up the supplies we'll need. Supper tonight will be leftover pork & pepper salad for me, and a pizza for Jake.

01-19-2007, 10:49 AM
TGIF, Ladies!!

Morning all! It's cold, foggy and rainy here. As long as it doesn't freeze, I'll be fine.

Seems like there's a lot of chatter going on now! I love it! We made a decision here at the office and hired somebody. She starts on Monday and now the only thing to do is figure out where she's going to go. That's probably the biggest hurdle and I'm really stressing out about it. That's why I'm SO glad the weekend is here!

Oh shoot, bossman showed up (thought he was going to be off today!) I'd better get to work!

Have a great Friday!! :carrot: :carrot:

Good morning Chickadees. It's a chilly but bright morning here in Bama..still spared from the horrible weather everywhere else..
I couldv'e slept all day today...I was all warm and cozy in my bed. but alas...I must to open the restaurant. It's nice being the cook...I can make myself what ever I want to for my lunch...yesterday, I grilled a hamburger steak...and melted some cheese over it and added a garden mix to the top of it then hit the salad bar. my fav thing to do there is slice tomatos and put mozzerella cheese on them with some italian seasonings and parmesan cheese and bake it in the pizza get the flavor of the cheese pizzas w'out the crust!
I did notice yesterday that our pizza sauce doesn't have any sugar in once I perfect my whole grain pizza crust...It's ON!

I'm trying to drink my V8 right now...but this time I got the Hot/Spicy one...and it is and spicy!! whew but I think that makes it easier to drink
Have any of you chicks tried Stevia?
just wondering...I got some the other day and I've been using's a pretty good sweetener. and I love the fact that it is chemicals.

Well...I must go get ready for work...Hope you all have a GREAT FRIDAY!!!

Good morning chicks, it is raining here like crazy the rest of the province is getting snow we are getting rain rain and more rain. I hope it does not freeze later. But alteast I don't have to drive anywhere today. DH's mood is improving but he now has a touch of the flu, alas will my life ever be normal again. Well I can't stay long as I am always running to help some one. Only two little ones here til afterschool and it will be an indoor day. :( they will be wound right up because they have had no outside time, we will have to get the games and coloring out and hope that will occupy them, maybe a nice movie. Well gotta to go, take care and have a great day.

01-19-2007, 12:12 PM
Karen - Congrats to your 4lb loss, makes us all want to 'keep on going'...good for you girl!:cheer:

Shatzi - I am starting a study course :book2: on the Old Testament which is quite extensive. I have not truly studied anything deep since I retired so this is going to be quite a challenge for me. I will try to take some of your study habits to heart.

Ruth - A new border in the kitchen always makes the kitchen feel cheery :sunny: - what did you pick as a border?

Cottage - Happy to hear you didn't :nono: drive in on the ice today!

Me - First, notice the change in pictures...Lil Bear got into a muddy area one day right after I had bathed and groomed him:stress: ! Today he goes to the groomer so I will post another picture of him tomorrow all nice a clean:dance: !

Yesterday DH and I cleaned house and took several 'inside' pictures of our condo to put on our 'house exchange' web to get them on there without pulling my hair out :fr: trying.

Busy day today with studies, Lil Bear to groomers and planning my next three day's meals.

Stay legal girls!

Love you sis!

Good morning, everyone! I'm stuck working from home today since I had to attend an early morning meeting. I've got the same meeting on Monday morning too. Then my manager will be back from vacation and she can handle this meeting.

I've got too much to do as usual and I have not been making it to the gym. This month is just way too busy. I'm looking at next week and I've got stuff going on almost every night.

Morning Girls:

Lil chick: Oh my your poor DH, the Flu is no fun. and my heart goes out to you Lil Chick, keeping things running at home...Someday soon I pray things will return to normal for you all.

Karen...Good Girl on your wt. loss...wonderful when we see our scale go down...keep it up.

PHinsUp: Glad you told us about the spicy V8 juice...I will not buy it to try now...I hate hot and spicy things..I did find some low sodium V8 which tasted very good. About the Stevia, Yes I have used it...Very sweet...only takes a very small pinch.

Ruth: Did Donna show up on time today? I hope so.

Cottage: Hope you are having fun making Valentines with your girls...I remember those days well...Enjoy every moment. The girls will grow up too fast and be gone.

Jet: Tonight is when you leave for a visit with your parents...Becareful and enjoy the time with them.

Schatzi: Good luck cracking those books...and take time to drink your water....

Sis: My love for you is as deep as the ocean.

As for me: Today is Friday and a day with two of my daughters...No show today..Nothing good on. But we will keep busy shopping, lunch, and having a gay old time...I really look forward to my Friday with at least two of them...About the other two...One is DN full time, and the other has 4 sons to take care of...Willl be with them Sunday. Have a good one, all of you.

01-19-2007, 01:50 PM
Morning, again!! It's lunchtime...time to check in to see when the rest of you finally woke up. ;)

I did my "official" weigh-in for the week this morning since I won't be home to do it on Sunday. I'm down to 213.6!! I've finally lost all the weight from both of my pregnancies, and am now simply fat. ;) It's really very exciting as this is the lightest I've been since 2002!!!!!!!!!!! Plus, that's more than 3 pounds for the week, and I've met my goal for January!

Ended up directing my 2nd co-worker in the area to go home this morning. He looked and sounded awful!! Hopefully he'll get well over the weekend. Otherwise, it has been a busy busy morning. The afternoon isn't going to slow down either. The sicky was supposed to be coving for one who's on vacation today through next the 2 of us left are covering everything. That's quite an adventure since I don't have a clue what's going on in certain places.

Our weekend forecast is for 3-4" of snow, but there isn't supposed to be ice like there was last week. We're headed up to my folks' tonight and will be home Sunday evening.

Hope you all have a fabulous Friday followed by a wonderful weekend!!!

01-19-2007, 02:21 PM
:congrat: Jetsetter! Way to go! :cheer2: :high: :hat: :woohoo: :whoo: Isn't that an awesome feeling???

LC, so sorry to hear about DH with the flu. Have you tried Oscillococcinum? It's supposed to help reduce the length and severity of the flu. It's over the counter and you can get it at any drug store. I haven't tried it yet but have friends who have and swear by it.

I have to take the car for an oil change and then have a ton of chores to do around the house. Feh...but tonight should be fun with the hubby. :D Have a great weekend, chickies! :beach:

01-19-2007, 03:22 PM
UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Still no word from DH- the guy he interviewed with on Wednesday said he would contact him TODAY!! I hate this!!!!!! (I have also eaten a ton of chocolate due to stress and lack of willpower.......)

PLEASE pray that whatever is best for our family is what happens. Something else will come along if this isn't what the plan is, but it seems to be a super opportunity.

Sorry for the "me" post, I will skim posts and reply later.

01-19-2007, 04:02 PM
Kiko, just go right ahead and do ME posts. We all do! That sucks about them not contacting your DH. I wish I'd been there with you to share the chocolate.

Hello everyone, I'm kind of discouraged today because I put back 2 lbs. that I had just lost. Oh well, gotta keep up the fight. Nice and sunny today. Warmer too. Made walking alot better without the slick places. We're celebrating a friends' birthday tomorrow at my partents house. Helped my Mom with some cooking today. Will have to be careful tomorrow. I went to the chiropracter this week. I have a compressed disc at c6 and was in alot of pain . he really helped. Have been using ice and heat .Feeling real good now. Well you all have a good weekind.

01-19-2007, 05:35 PM
Hello everyone,
I've been busy the last month or so and haven't checked in with the group lately.

My weight hasn't changed any in over a year-fluctuate between 159-163 most of the time. Yeah! Even though I really should continue losing the last 30 or so pounds, I can't seem to get motivated to do it. And I'm not too upset about it.

Dh bought me the most wonderful christmas present, an electronic embroidery sewing machine. It does everything except cut the fabric out. Makes great button holes, a multitude of fun stitches and I'm just in sewing room heaven. I've been playing with it just about every day 1-2 hours a day. hey, it keeps me away from the after dinner snacking.

I finished ~30 dolls for the kids the hospital I work at for Christmas, I have pictures on my charity_crafter website. I think the link is still in my sig line. I'll check.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Hi ladies,

Just an afternoon post to relax by before I scream and tear my hair out.:rollpin: :frypan: I am so sick of this class I'm in! The professor is such a raunch. The stuff I'm trying to learn is nothing that she teaches, lectures or gives us reading assignments in. It's like she wants us to fail! I have spent the day trying to do the assignments and it's so frustrating. I need to find my happy place!:yoga:

Sorry for the rant, but grrrrrr.......

Weight has stayed the same but I am getting the water in, so I'm OK with that. I don't feel like I can take time to exercise right now because I'm so overwhelmed with school and these 9 credits I'm trying to get done. If I get up at 0400 instead of 0500 I might be able to squeeze it in.

Congrats on the "losers" out there:carrot: you are awesome!

Hope everyone is able to stay warm. We've got sunshine here but bitter cold.

Barb522: You are way too busy: Slow down kid and drink your water...My best to you.

Jet: Good girl.Exciting to get to the lightest wt and to meet your Jan. Goal. My prays are with you on the road...Enjoy your parents

Beach Girl: What is Osciecococcinumi> I can't even remember how your spelled it...what is in it? What a word...Should cure anything.

Kiko: Bad manners when people say they will call and don't...For shame! May the pox be on him. Sound off anytime kid...we all need to sometime,

Morning Star: Don't be discouraged! Hang in there and please don't weigh every morning...Drink your water. I'll see you tomorrow at church.

Sarahyu: Have fun on that new machine...Wonderful thing that you do for children in the hospital...Bless you..

RNmom: Stop, Count to Ten, and take a deep breath...I feel for you...Try to remember that time goes by so fast that this too will pass and you will get good grades...Hang in there and try to relax some. Love to you...

Today, I had a most enjoyable day with two of my lovely daughters...We laughted so hard we hurt. Got two new outfits...Our Department store, Gottachalks, having a wonderful sale...some things were 80% off...

Best thing about the outfits is that with the very close to 10 lbs off...a size smaller....I like that...each 10lbs loss is one size smaller.

Best to you all.

01-19-2007, 08:41 PM
WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He found out this afternoon that he did indeed get the job!! This is the hugest relief ever for us- his hours will be better and it is a substantial amount more $$. Things have been beyond tight for us since the birth of our second daughter...... so this and then in 4 1/2 months we get to ax our daycare expense on our older daughter. A bright shiny light at the end of this financial tunnel. :) :) Not only the money though, I feel like we are getting an opportunity to be a family- time together.

Okay, my stress eating surely screwed me up, but I am back on track in the morning.

01-19-2007, 09:46 PM
Mamajoki I took a course in O.T. too. I had 15 weeks to finish. Last semester I took Daniel and Wis/Ps. lit. I should be getting my grades soon.

Today was the first really cold day here in Ohio. It has been unusally warm but I guess this done.

At least the gas prices are down 1.94 a gal. Whew!!!!

Kiko:carrot: on the job! I am so happy to hear about your blessing

01-19-2007, 10:37 PM
Evening all.....I'm not going to reply to everyone...tired. But I thought I would let you know that I stopped by. Have a great weekend.

little chick
01-19-2007, 11:09 PM
Kiko- I am so happy for you and your hubby. Nothing worse than the strains of money. I can relate we too as just about at the end of our tunnel. This summer we should have our heads above water. Take care. And get back on track first thing in the morning.

lubajo - Thank you for the kinds words and the encourgment, things are slowly getting better. DH is feeling a little better, I am hoping once he starts his physo things will improve even more. Only 4 more weeks, I could need a straight jacket by then.

Beachgal- Thanks for the info. Too late tonight to get that, But I will get some tomorrow if he is not any better. Although I will have to write that down I will never remember what it is.

Well must dash just popped in to say goodnight.

01-19-2007, 11:22 PM
Hey kiko CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope everyone has a great night!

01-20-2007, 12:56 AM
Congratulations, Kiko! I am so glad for you and your family. I know how hard it is to worry about money. Daycare is not cheap (even afterschool care).

We had another round of layoffs at work this week and I am just so glad to have survived it. Dh has been out of work for years and we'd be in trouble if I got let go too.
