Hello all! I just stumbled upon this website today and thought I'd sign up. It seems like a great community here. I've decided (yet again) to try to lose weight and just started the fat smash diet. Not really sure what I'm doing since I don't do diets, but I've hit that point where I really need to do something about my expanding waistline! I almost had a heart attack when I weighed myself today! :faint:Definitely time to do something!!!

Hey Cammii
:welcome: To 3FC's , I hope you find it as much help and support as we all do. As you have proberly found there is many different sectons to help you along the way , reciepe's , specific diet forums, Dieting with problems (diabeties , thyroid probelems etc) and much more , there is defintly something here for everyone. I have been a member here for about 6 months ish now, but i started dieting seriously at the end of August , so far i have lost 26lbs and i am following the Rosemary Conley Gi Jeans Diet & fitness Class , i couldnt have got as far as i have without the love & support of everyone on here.
Good luck with the task ahead i know at time it will be tough as it is for all of us but just remember there is always someone here to help it , the most important thing is not to give in , get yourself a weekly or mothly goal to keep you motivated and if you have a problem share it with someone as a problem shared is defintly a problem halved.
Take care and all the best for you Weightloss Journey

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I laughed out loud when I read your reply doughnut! I love the name! I passed Krispy Creme yesterday on the way back from the supermarket, having stocked up on healthy food - and I resisted the urge! So proud of myself! Don't worry though, you'll get there. I used to be really thin so I (and everyone else around me) is extremely aware of the fact that I'm so much bigger than I used to be! I never thought in a million years that I'd be nearing 140lbs. I small-boned so that's all just fat! Scary! :moo:

Oh well, I've never been thin so I don't have your problem! You don't have much to lose so if you haven't been there yet come and check out the feather weights forum - it's one of the sub forums on the support groups bit. I don't technically qualify as a featherweight - actually I don't qualify at all, let's leave technicalities out of it - but I like it there!

Hi again!
Thanks for the heads up! If it makes you feel any better, a few days ago I wouldn't have "technically" fit the criteria for joining the featherweights either. Losing water weight is great! yay! :carrot:

Hey Cammi- Welcome.
Where abouts in London do you live. I am in West London myself (my own personal centre of the universe!). What is the fat smash diet? I assume it is a low fat one?

Hey,
I just joined today, but didnt notice this board. I'm Sharon (or Shazza), 37 from London. I need to lose about 30lbs, the only thing I've lost at the moment is my willpower (am sure its about somewhere).
Thought I'd say "hello".

Hey Shazza! Welcome. Are you ding any particular 'diet' or just watching your weight/screaming at the scales?
Love your note about chocolate making clothes shrink. I must tell myself this - like a mantra over and over again. I have been avoiding chocs since just after Christmas. It has been quite hard but I remeind myself that Milk chocs slip down my throat without touching the sides and I am always convinced I have not eaten it until I see the wrapper in the bin. I don't even taste if!

Hey Peacock,
I havent had any chocolate for two weeks now and its killing me (keep salivating every time I go past a fruit and nut bar) - eating loads of fruit and trying to drink lots of water. I just need to find that trigger in my brain that says "you need to lose weight Shaz" - its there somewhere. My clothes feel tight and the scales say "one at a time please" when I get on them !
I'm not doing a particular diet, just cutting down and eating healthily, its how I lost weight before. I've done all the "fads", joined Slimming World etc, but lost interest. I know what works for me so just need to find the key......

Hi everyone!
Yay! Fellow Londoners! How are the diets going? Any success?
I'm a SW Londoner myself. I live in Wimbledon, which is surprisingly hilly for London, so pretty good for exercising. Having said that, the weather isn't exactly on my side...
I started the fat smash diet last week. It's the one from celebrity fit club in the US. I'm still waiting on the book though so I'm not sure I'm doing it 100% accurately. That may explain why I'm not really losing much weight at the mo. I feel considerably better though, and my skin looks fantastic. It's basically a vegetarian diet at present, with no cheese, wheat or sugar. I've found that I don't crave sweet things at all. The really surprising thing is I don't miss meat either. I think I'm retaining water anyway, so the weight may not be a true reflection of success. And my muscle tone is definitely improving! Even my boyfriend has noticed! :)
Anyway, I'm staying optimistic. Good luck everyone!

Hi there,
I've only been seriously dieting for a week now, eating lots of fruit and have stayed away from the chocolate, I do feel much better for it though. My skin is clear and I dont feel half as bloated as I did. I'll give myself a couple of weeks before I get on the scales.
Wimbledon is very nice, I live in Harrow (West London)

MY SCALES HAVE BROKEN!
But, surprisingly, not due to intense pressure, or being thrown across the room in despair! ;)
Now I can't fulfill by obsessive-compulsive need to check my weight all the time...
lol, that sounds familiar...I think I'm a bit obsessive about weighing myself sometimes too. I don't let it get me down though, if they go up then I always have some excuse ;)

I've moved from London to Spain 3 years ago and I've been putting on weight since :(
I used to be a fitness Instructor, my weight was 9 stones, my dress size was 10, and I used to teach 10 classes a week!
Because I work in an office job here in Spain my weight just plumped up, as I don't exercise as much as before and some weeks I don't exercise at all. I've tried to diet and I can't stick to it, I've tried everything but I always end up eaten. I need help as this is affecting my relationship.
Thanks a lot,
Paula

Paula - :welcome3:
You'll get lots of support here. We're a great bunch for listening :listen: and giving e-cuddles  when things go wrong and also for giving advice if its asked for.
Come and join us on the chat thread or on the Easter Challenge thread. :) :) :)
Paula, where in Spain are you? I'm very jealous, my family live out there (in the Canaries) and although I visit a fair bit, it's just not the same. I'm popping over to Catalonia in a couple of weeks too, to get a bit of Spanishness to see me through the winter.
