Hi ladies,

Cristina - aww, I hope you aren't getting a migraine! Maybe by the time you read this, it'll be gone. Thank you so much for noticing the weight loss. This is very hard for me to do, because my heart isn't in it as much as it should be, and I'm doing it for my health.

Marti - my foot doctor's apt. is for next week. Good luck with the photo shoot.

Sassy - I think we Jaded Ladies could've made a much better movie, don't you? We don't have any teens here, but still!

Michelle - good to see you again. I noticed while scanning the bios that you'd changed your name and avatar again. Hey, tell me the scoop on the puppy in your signature, ok?

Hello to anyone else reading this.

My day has been fairly routine - same ol', same ol', including some cleaning. I got a few more recipes done, but still have a boat-load to go! Hope your day has been more exciting, lol.

Good evening Ladies!

I've been lurking for a few days looking for a site and ya'll sound warm and wonderful. I've just filled out my bio! I'm so tired of the yo-yo dieting and although I only need to lose about 20 lbs, ok maybe 25 (I've lost and found them at least a dozen times) I still support those in need of losing any amount of weight. Besides, after getting a tummy tuck last year, I feel so dissapointed in myself for packing on lbs again.

I'm a happily married pediatric nurse who is almost an empty nester that has finally decided to make 2007 a year to get healthier, dust off the elliptical in the basement and meet some new friends! I look forward to meeting everyone! Warm hugs, Tammy

Have a nice evening ladies.

Hugs.. Kathy

 Vann, nice to meet you too!!;)

Jane, the puppy in my picture is my new granddaughter and her name is Oreo lol.;) My older DD's hubby bought her an early Valentine's Day present and we all love her so much. Her breed is called a Bugg, she's a cross between a boston terrier and a pug, and she's only 3 pounds and almost 3 months old. Right now though, she's in the vet hospital with pnemonia and is getting better, but cannot come home still for a few more days. This has made me want to get a puppy, so when we get our taxes all paid off about this time next year, I really want to get a little girl boston terrier, and I already have her name picked out too. Yes I did change my name again, and I'm always changing my avatar.:D

Like a bad penny, here I am again!

Vann - well, I take Equate 50-plus One Daily, which is a One-A-Day wannabe, lol, and they do the job. Just don't pay more for the "Weight Smart" ones. I just read where the company has been forced to stop tauting them as a weight loss tool, since they are merely a vitamin. I have to admit, I took them when they first came out, but didn't notice any help with weight loss from them. Anyway, I think any good multi-vitamin would be ok, but if you have any special concerns, it's always a good idea to ask your doc. Btw, thanks for the congrats! As I mentioned to Cristina, this is very hard for me.

Tammy - well, you picked a good place for group support and encouragement. And we will feel happy to have a pediatric RN in the group! I have 5 (almost 6) grandchildren, and may need to pick your brain occasionally, lol. My DH and I are recent empty-nesters. At first it was a little sad to have the "baby" gone, but it didn't take long for us to revel in our new-found freedom, lol. Anyway, glad to meet you, and even more glad you're here!

Kathy - aww, so sorry you lost your post! BTDT!! When you get some free time, would you want to repost a bio? Yours got lost in the shuffle, or something, and we want you to have a current one. Thanks!

Michelle - oh how sweet she is!! I want one!!

Hello to anyone else reading this.

I went to town and hung out at Walmart while Neal had his music practice tonight. I got his valentine, some candy that he likes but I do not, and a movie for his valentine gift. Yes, I know it's early, but you know me!

I'm having my ex-inlaws (they're real sweet!) in for Sunday dinner and have been working on a menu for that. I think herb-roasted chicken, a whole-foods broccoli casserole, parsley baby carrots, some rice pilaf, and a light dessert sounds good. Not sure yet about the salad. I think I'll try one from Cooking Light. Or maybe some fresh mozzerella and tomatoes....

Have a good night/morning... or both, lol,

01-10-2007, 02:35 AM
Hi Ladies.

Well I did finally get some sleep. DH went out and bought some groceries and even made dinner for me.

I am finally doing my laundry of Mt. Washme! lol. DH is going to his parents house tomorrow to do some stuff for his dad, so I may just stay home and try to get things done.

Did anybody here watch the People's Choice Awards lastnight (Tuesday Night)? I did and got to see my "Man" perform -- Kenny Chesney. I won't give away about anybody who won or nothing in case someone has taped or TiVoed it and hasn't yet watched it. ;)

Cristina -- Thanks but I think I found my answer! I was googling recipes and found an ingredient I forgot about -- Pork Rinds! I know a lot of Low Carber's use them for things. So they use them to bread their chicken in this recipe, you grind them up. But I'm going to keep searching for more possibilities........;)

Jane -- Yes I think we could have definately made a more decent movie for sure! Just put hidden cameras on us, well those of us who haven't lost all their weight yet, and see the reactions we get! Well at least me! But what really gets me is that its totally different for men who are overweight! They are just "Big Guys" and usually don't get any disgusted looks or anything. That really irritates the crap out of me! Women have it SO much harder, thanks to Hollywood!!!!! I know that being thin is much healthier (sometimes) and all, but come on now, um Size 0 isn't my idea of "healthy", sorry. If you are petite and small, then okay, but what if your just not cut out to being teeny tiny? Which I'm not! Of course my mom and bio. father are both small people, I guess I get my size from my grandmothers. I'm short, but stout.

Even when I do lose weight, I'm no tiny chick! I am naturally bigger boned and curvier. Anywho I think that if we get looks of disgust than so should men and hollywood should be tougher on the "Big Guys" of tv too! I get so sick of seeing the "Fat Guy" with the "Model Type Woman" that is a bit old I think! I want to see a "Big Girl" and bigger than a size 12 or 14 thanks! As I don't think 12 or 14 is plus size! But anyways, I would like to see a "Big Girl" with a "Model Type Man". I am thankful for Roseanne who did "break through" for us heavier women in the late 80's/early 90's and also Camryn Manheim, who I think is very pretty and very talented. ;) Anyways I want to see more plus size women out there, to show the young girls that hey, its okay to be heavier or curvier, you don't have to be a skeleton with skin to be beautiful! Okay I guess I can get off of my :soap: now! lol. These are only my opinions.

Hello & :welcome2:, Tammy! This is an awesome site and an awesome Thread too! These women are truely amazing!

Hey Kathy, sorry to hear about you losing your long post, I HATE that!

Jane Part II: My God woman! You already got Neal's V-day presents? :yikes: You are making us look bad here! lol.........Your dinner sounds yummy! I want to buy me some rice, what do you recommend? Brown rice I'm sure, any thing in particular?????? And what do you put in your Broccoli Casserole hmmmm? Oh and I Love Fresh Mozerella and tomatoes!

Take care everybody!

Sassy-I gained weight when I was pregnant with my almost 20 year old daughter and it stayed--I am build like my Mom's Mennonite relatives and I am not talking the tall thin ones!!

Jane--I checked out a Cooking light cookbook at the Library, just returned it and got the new SOnoma Diet one last Friday. Your meal sounds yummy.

Michelle--the grandpuppy definitely is a cutie!

Kathy--I hate when I lose long posts too!!

Vann--I am here--long days at work (10 hour days MON-THURS) and then hitting the gum.

well I gotta go time to get to work!!

01-10-2007, 12:40 PM
Good Morning Ladies

Tammy--Hello and welcome! :welcome2: Very happy to have you here. It doesn't matter how much or how little of weight you need to lose, we'll support ya no matter what! Looking forward to getting to know you more!

Jane--Hard to believe that Valentines Day is just around the corner. (we're we saying this about Christmas???) I thought about taking the day off, but I decided not to. We never do anything that day. Our Anniversary is in March...I'll take time off for that!

Vann--We're not necessarily house hunting strongly. We'll just check houses out now and then. Keeping our eye on the prices of things, hoping it'll go down a bit. We're thinking of really looking and talking to a realtor in the summer. This has been an on going thing for the last couple years though, so who know!

Michelle--That is the most adorable puppy! I showed my hubby the photo and he just "oohed and aahed" over it! So cute. He would love to have a pug. I'd like to have a little English Bulldog. Cute!

Kathy--Hello! Check back in when you can.

Sassy--What a sweet hubby to have made dinner for you. And to do the shopping! My sweety has been a lot of that. I'm starting to feel guilty. I need to do something for him soon!

Jules--You get three day weekends!? That would be fantastic! We've been asking about that at work....but it just wouldn't work in our they say! I'd work four 10's!

Well the photo shoot was interesting. I didn't realize it was as professional as it was. They had a whole area set up like you would see for models. And I had the hardest time making my smile real! And of coarse....I'm the shortest so I HAD to be up front. (grumble--grumble) We'll see how they turned out.

Still walking my butt off. My arms ache this morning since I started walking using my 3lbs weights again. I only carry them part of the walk....maybe 20mins out of the 35, but boy....they sure feel it!

Next week I'm going to start getting up early if I can, and do an exercise video before work. Add to my walking everyday. I need to work on the belly so I'm thinking Denise Austins Ab workout will do.

Ok ladies...I need to get ready for work. I'm thinking this is going to be my Starbucks day.

Hugs to all!

01-10-2007, 03:11 PM
MARTI...Thank you for your kind words; I think she's pretty darn cute also!!;) You're doing so good with your food/exercise plan...:woohoo:

01-10-2007, 05:09 PM
Hello ladies...

HI and a big :welcome: TAMMY!Looking forward to getting to know you.

JANE...I was just at Target earlier looking at things and couldn't find much for Valentine's day. Not sure what I will get V but we don't do big on V-Day. I bought some Happy Valentine wrappers (I've not gotten yet) and will get some Hersey candy bars at Sams this evening for the troops. I bought 72 so that the guys know we are thinking of them. Then I will get Josh and his roomie a card. I've got to send that early the reason I bought so early. But I am thinking about what to get V. is Oreo doing today? Hope she is better and gets better every day. She really is a cutie and maybe I am ready for another dog now, lol. That would be a great V-Day gift. Okay, maybe not...just remembered we are trying to sale the house and having two dogs to take when they show is probably not a good idea. Oh well, maybe once we move. How are you doing today?

VANN...yeah, I put my scale away because it is toooo tempting to get on them everyday. Then I only get discouraged. I too take vitamins...1ADay, plus I take a vitaminB, E, folic acid and calcium. I try to remember to take them every day and so far so good. As long as I am drinking my water I take them.

Hi to everyone else, JULES, SUE, KATHY, SASSY, MARTI, and MARY KATE

Good news from the tour yesterday. The realtors thought the house was nice and showed well, and we are priced right. There were some that said they had clients that are interested so we'll see. We are having an open house this Sunday and next so we'll see how that goes. Supposed to get some icy weather and then snow to top it off this weekend and I am afraid if we get that no one will show up for an open house. I sure wouldn't want to get out in that kind of weather. Anyway, we'll see how that goes.

Nothing much going on here. I went to exercise this morning and then ran to Target to pick up a few things. I think V is going to crap when I tell him how much the vacuum filter cost, lol. I was happy with the ones that use bags but he wanted to try something new. Of course you don't have to replace the filters except once a year but it was $25.00, yikes! Bought a new mop as well and just looked around. I love just looking at all the stuff sometimes. DD started drinking Welch's strawberry soda because it doesn't have caffeine and I had to go to 3 stores to find it. I was pooped by the time I got home to say the least and haven't gotten anything done around here. When V gets home we are headed to SAMS to pick up some things. Anywho...that's about all I have.

Take care ladies and I hope everyone is having a GREAT day!

01-10-2007, 05:57 PM
Thanks for the warm welcome ladies. I look so forward to learning about each and every one of you. And yes, Jane, you can pick my nursing brain any time you want. I just finished an 8 hr shift (I usually work 12 hr). I do a lot of pediatric diabetic teaching and today I had a real "heart tugger" of a patient. A little 9 year old girl, newly diagnosed with diabetes, whose mom is receiving chemo for breast cancer who is also mourning the loss of her (mom) best friend from cancer just 2 weeks ago. Talk about putting life in perspective!! After spending hours with this family today I gobbled down my low fat, low sugar lunch without one complaint or feeling sorry for myself. I didn't even miss my usual chocolate treat! (well maybe a little) It's days like this that I really count my blessings!

I'm off to my weekly Wednesday dance nite with dh. Hope you all have a pleasant evening.

01-10-2007, 07:38 PM
Evening All!

Well DH went to his parents to get whatever he had to get done for his dad. I stayed home, which I'm glad my back was achin' this morning. I think its just the weather.

I got all my laundry done -- finally!

Jules -- Yeah I am like why can't I be built like my parents? ARGH. Aw well this is how the good Lord made me, just have to work with it I guess! lol.

Marti -- My DH has been really sweet lately, makes me wonder what he's up too........LMAO. J/K. WTG on the walking!!! :woohoo: I think I did Denise Austins Ab workout, back in the day and it really helped! So good luck! I was going to do my workout from the tv this morning, but I didn't. :(

Jane -- I hope your open houses bring you many offers on your house! :crossed: Ya know when DH & I were looking at houses, we were looking in the most nastiest weather it seemed! lol. Our realitor said that you would be surprised how many people do get out there in bad weather to look! So you never know! I know what ya mean I love looking around in stores sometimes too, have to do that when I'm alone it drives DH crazy. lol.

Tammy -- I can see where that would definately tug at your heart strings!

Hi to everybody else out there!

Take Care!

01-10-2007, 08:18 PM
Hi Guys...

Tammy-Welcome!! I am quite jealous of the tummy tuck!! I would love to have one...maybe one day. I had a breast reduction for medical reasons and at the time the doctor said I would be a perfect candidate for a tummy tuck, but I can't justify the expense:-( Maybe oneday... I too might tap into your pediatric experience....I don't know if you read earlier threads, but my DS is also overweight in addition to some other things...that is all a part of my can I coach him on healthy eating alternatives when I am not doing in my self..

Jane- I will look for the Equate brand..and will definitley try one...I am better tonight..maybe hormones..It is for sure that is part of my issue on some days..I guess at my age that is normal LOL Your dinner sounds wonderful!! Neal is VERY lucky to have such a chef around...Ya know I have to admit I miss the valentines thing...maybe one day in my life...I can just buy for the kids:-)

Michele..Oreo is a heartbreaker will have to keep adding pictures so we can see her grow!!!

Sassy- I DID see the Peoples Choice was great..saw Kenny too...You are right about one thing A TON of skinny women...I do sometimes wonder if most of them aren't anorexic??

Christina, I am resisting the scales a day at a far so good...and I am going to check out the one a day this weekend..I guess generic should work and I sure hope to get a boost!!

Marti-Maybe I missed something ..what photo shoot?? Sounds interesting.

Today was a good work day..not quite as stressful as Monday. My DD called and her car got hit in the Walmart parking lot..crushed the headlight and she said an employee did it and admitted it ,but then the next day the company from Walmart would have to do an investigation and it might take 3 months for her to get it fixed. She wants me to fix it ...I can't do everything..trying to coach her through it....Probably why I didn't eat too great last night...was starving..or that is what my mind was saying..ate cheetos..kudo...I didn't totally blow my calories but it wasn't pretty!! Feel much more motivated tonight and really enjoyed reading the post!!

Again thanks for being here!!

01-10-2007, 08:37 PM
Hi ladies,

Sassy - well, at least there are bigger and not-so-beautiful people on tv now. Way back when, the women were all small, gorgeous, and wore high heels and pearls to do the housecleaning, lol. Uh... in your last post, you got me confused with Cristina. No biggie.

Jules - I just love looking at cookbooks, especially if they have pictures. I'm a visual kind of person, lol.

Marti - some financial expert was on tv yesterday saying how the prices of homes is on the rise. This would be a really, really good time to buy one, according to him. Hey, you're doing just great with the diet and exercise both!

Cristina - Josh has only 1 roomie? I thought there were lots of guys in each big, huge room. I'm glad your house tour went well, and hope inclement weather won't come around until your tours are over. You've been a busy lady!

Tammy - awww, the situation of the family you were talking about really does make a person want to stop and count their blessings. We take so much for granted, don't we? I bet you're a good nurse. Btw, if you'd ever want to add your name to your automatic signature, it would be helpful to us. So you're going dancing? I'm jealous! Years ago I asked Neal if he'd want to take dance lessons, and he said no. Then a couple years ago, he said, out of the blue, that he wished we had done that. But then, I was having so much trouble with my knees that it didn't seem like a good idea. What kind do you do? Country? Ballroom? Something in-between?

I moved some furniture around today, to add a chair to the living room. One thing lead to another, and in the end, I moved several pieces around from all over the house, lol. Good for my arms and legs, right?

I am OP and feeling good about that. How are things going for you?

01-10-2007, 08:40 PM
Vann-they grow up but still want Mom to fix everything!! It's okay about the cheetos, I am trying to not get discouraged with myself if I "mess" up-you didn't blow your calories and that's what is important. When I go on a diet officially I get all tied up inside on what I can and can't eat to the point I get myself almost obsessed over food and mess up, get frustrated and really overdo. It's a vicious cycle I am doing my best to stop. I take a vitamin called Alive and it seems to really make a difference, I get it at a local Health food store but I have also seen it on the internet.

Sassy--I also love the quotes you find. I like what you said--I'll work on what I got too!!

Tammy-dance nite sounds fun, some cases you work on must be harder than others.

Cristina--you were one busy girl today, glad your headache is better.

Marti--I used to work five 10 hour days at my last job. The three days are nice since the job is so high stress.

Hi Jane & Michelle and anyone I moght have missed!!

01-10-2007, 08:41 PM
Jane--we were posting at the same time--the Sonoma cookbook has lots of pictures and is beautifully done.

01-10-2007, 11:52 PM
Hello everyone!
I guess I will just jump in and post. I just found these forums today and it's cool.

I am on my 2nd round with WW. I lost 22 lbs in 2005, managed to gain back 23 when I had my first weigh in this past monday.

I have 2 kids who are active in the school marching band, so in the late summer and early fall, marching band is our lives :-)

The big happenings this week in my life besides making the decision to join WW again....

I got 2 brand new recliners! Well one is mine and one my husbands, but my goal was this yr to have new furniture that noone else had ever sat their butts in! I have been so blessed with people giving us furniture, but it's kind of bittersweet when you know they are the ones getting the new furniture, ya know?

I also was kinda expecting to get let go from my job and my DM called me this week and I thought well here it is... "THE CALL" and all she did was offer me 2 new stores. (I am a merchandiser, set my own schedule- it is great!)

So, this week has been pretty good so far. Well hubby's truck broke down, but we got it back tonight and it didn't cost very much to fix, thank God for backyard mechanics!, so that wasn't all that bad either.

Ok, I am rambling now, so I am going to go. Hope to get to know you all.

01-11-2007, 02:03 AM
Good Evening ladies.....

It's almost 10:00 (my walking time) and I thought I would pop in here real quick and catch up a little.

Michelle--You're so welcome...she's such a cutie puppy! I'll babysit anytime!:D

Cristina--Are you planning on finding a house in the same town are a different one? I hope the people who are interested give you an offer!

Sassy--I've seen Denise Austins show on in the mornings...but that was when I was getting home around 3:00. I'm not up anymore for her early show. I like the tape...wish it was a DVD, but I'll use what I got!

Vann--The photo shoot was for work. I work in a lab and they wanted to get some photos for a pamphlet for our clients. And our department (sendout reference department) was chosen as one of the few to photograph. I should be honored...but who likes their photo taken?

Jane--The houses seem to be on the rise ALL the time! :dizzy: Who knows what we'll end up doing. I DO know that I want warmer weather when and IF we find one!:D

Jules--Five 10hr days?? Did you only get 2days off? Crazy! I'm glad you get the 3day weekends. I'm going to have to check out the Sonoma Cookbooks. I like photos too!

Jodi--Hello  and welcome! I have been wanting new furniture forever! Someday. I told my hubby that if we move...we need to get a new couch. I love the one we have, but it's a futon and I'm ready for something more cozier. Glad to have you a part of the JL's.....Looking forward to learning more about you.

Hello to everyone else out there!! I ate clean.......for the most part!:s: Dinner was a little splurge (stuffed porkchops) and I DID go and have my weekly starbucks. But I'm still within my allotted calorie intake. So I'm good.

It is now 10:00 and so off I go for my nightly walk. You're all probably sound asleep...(except Sassy I'm sure) so you all sleep well and I'll chat w/you tomorrow.

01-11-2007, 02:06 AM
:welcome2: JODI!!!;)

VANN...Thank you for the compliments on Oreo. I too think she's just a doll!!;)

CRISTINA...The vet called my DD today with some not so good news.:( She said that Oreo had relapsed a lot just since yesterday, so my DD and her hubby went down and spent some time with Oreo. She said that Oreo was so happy to see them and kept kissing her and nibbling on her earrings. The are overnighting a new very strong medicine that they will begin giving her tomorrow, and pray that it works with her. I've been very down and crying today, because I just feel so bad for my DD and for Oreo, who has to keep suffering.

EDIT: Marti -- You were posting at the same time as me. I wish Oreo was home so she could be babysat, we miss her terribly!

01-11-2007, 02:40 AM
Hey all......

Vann -- Yeah way too many skinny women on there and way too many "Boobs" ready to "pop out" lol. But at least there was thankfully Queen Latifah, I think she looked really pretty and she is no stick figure, but very pretty........Sorry to hear about your DD getting her car hit. I hope she gets it fixed.

Jane -- Oops My bad. :o Just goes to show how scatterbrained I am. :dizzy: Yeah I do agree, we have at least moved forward by having at least a few bigger women on tv.

Jules -- Thanks. I try to find the most "inspirational quotes" to inspire not only me everyday, but everybody else. ;) Yup I figure I am who I am, so may as well accept that and work with what I got. Besides even if I was very rich, I would not go for plastic surgery or nothing. I think its great for people who need it, who were in extreme car accidents, etc, but my own personal opinion is I will just work with what God gave me. ;)

Hello and :welcome2: Jodi! I so know what you mean about furniture. That is DH & I goal once we buy a new house, to get NEW furniture, like you, we have been blessed to have been able to get furniture handed down to us by relatives/friends, but we are ready for something BRAND NEW! lol.

Hey Marti -- Yup you're right, I'm still up! lol. Of course, being the "Nightowl" and working nights, I have to be. lol. Yeah I saw she has an early morning show, there are actually lots of early morning fitness shows and did ya know, at least here, we have Fitness on Demand! How cool is that?????? So I need to take advantage of that!

Michelle -- Awwwww hon so sorry to hear about Oreo, he and you and your DD will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Okay I actually outsmarted myself for once! lol. I went to go and pay my credit card payment, but it showed I owed $0.00. So I was like Hmmmmm. So I called the 1-800# and punched in my account #, it is all automated, it told me my new balance and that I had made my last payment on Dec. 19th (my due date is always on the 11th) and that I owed $0.00!!!!!! I had forgotten that I had made another payment while paying DH's card so that I wouldn't have to worry about it! I am so excited I totally outsmarted myself for once! lmao! I'm still planning on making another payment on Friday, when we get paid, just to stay ahead, but its cool that I can wait one more day and not get a late fee! :woohoo: Okay so it doesn't take much for me! lmao!

I watched a tv show on Sleep Walkers on TV since I've had sleeping issues since I was little. There were a few people on the show they showed them sleeping and what they do, and my DH said, "Thats you! That is what you do!" Amazing what you do when your sleeping and you have clue about it. lol. My Dear Grandmother and my Aunt both broke their toes jumping out of bed when I was little staying with them and I guess I let out a big scream and then went back to sleep. But when they first heard it totally freaked them out. lol.

Anyways. That is about it.

01-11-2007, 12:07 PM
SASSY...Thank you, your kindness and prayers are much appreciated.:(

01-11-2007, 12:26 PM
This is going to be a quickie. I looked out my window and there is that means the roads will be slick and there will be drivers that don't I'm going to leave early. So I better hit the shower!

Have a great morning!

Hello Ladies...

JANE...yep, Josh has only one roomie. They had the bunks while in basic but where he's at and even in Hawaii he had/has only one roomie. Can't remember what they call those things he's living in in Iraq but he was lucky. Most of the others there are 3 guys in a room. And, ummm, yeah, moving furniture is definitely a work-out. :lifter:

SASSY...I hear ya lady. I am the biggest in my family, not sure where I got my genes from but everyone else is skinny. My brothers can eat and eat, and eat and never gain an ounce. My mom has a little bit of a belly on her but she is not big at all. I've never been skinny but I've not been this big either. I always weighed between 135-145 but I will never be skinny, or even that small again. Anywho...thanks for the well wishes on the house. And wTG on paying the credit card!

MARTI...we've already found another house and have a pending contract. It's on a contingency that we sell this one. :crossed: And it's in Wichita about 10 minutes from where we are now, so no, not staying in the same neighborhood/community. It might as well be though as I will still be shopping and doing business the same places. So the only thing that will change is the city and county, of course that kind of is a big change. Good luck to you and James when you guys start looking! Be careful driving in that weather. We are supposed to get icy conditions and snow later this evening into Monday, ick!

:welcome: JODI! Glad to have ya here and look forward to getting to know you. Hope you are enjoying your new furniture!

VANN...well, I didn't make it to Saturday, lol. I got on those darn scales this morning. I don't know why I do that 'cause it drives me crazy! Hey, don't let the cheetos get ya down. I am pretty sure generic v's will work. We buy ours at SAMS and buy their brand except for the 1ADay. I've just used that brand for years.

JULES...I've not heard of those vitamins, but I haven't been in a health store in ages. I used to go weigh there a while back. V is supposed to be working 5-10's but it has turned into more. Apparently the company already knows how many planes they want to get out this year and want to start now, lol. So 5-10's plus 8 on Sat & Sun. They never get out what they plan so.

MICHELLE...aaaahhhh, ((((((HUGS)))))) to you and your DD. I hope and will pray for Oreo to get well soon. Poor little puppy dog. I am sorry it is bringing you down as well. But I know when our children hurt we hurt with them and for them.

Hi to everyone else

Another busy day today, ugh. Feels so good when I finally sat down. Today is Wally World day and while I was up bright and early I got a later than usual start. I thought I would get up early and get my walk out of the way, a nice way to start the day off. Did some straightening and off to do my grocery shopping. After that I had some things to take back to Penney's, wasn't able to do it though. There is a lady that works in the catalog dept. that does not know what she is doing and so after 15 mns in line and three people before me I left. She had made a mistake and had to call in about it. She's done this before, to me! But there was someone there who knew what they were doing. I had another return (something I bought for Jason) just had the money put on a gift card for him. And then ran to the other end of the mall to get lotion and candles. Ugh, man was I tired. And boy, I want to tell you I ran into my share of odd people today. Some guy came up to me in Wal-Mart to let me know about the banana's being on sale every Thursday for 18 cents a pound. Not sure why he thought I should know but I thanked him. I was no where near the fruit by the way, lol. Then a younger woman gave me an evil eye, lol. I swear I did nothing to this woman...I was walking down the aisle minding my business, doing my shopping, not in anyone's way and she just gave me the dirtiest, evil look ever. I smiled at her because I was clueless, lol. Then as I was checking out the young woman in front of me was arguing with the cashier about when the nasty weather was going to hit. I guess she had to have the last word and because the radio station she listened to said something other than what the cashier had heard she had to get that across to her, lol. Geez, after all that I was afraid to go to the mall, lol! Anyway, I am glad that I got things done around the house this morning because I was pooped again. And fighting with this wind, oh my goodness. This wind is crazy and it's not supposed to calm down much. Okay, starting to ramble :blah: :blah:

Hope everyone's day was better than mine, lol. ;) Take care ladies

Hi ladies,

Jules - I'll have to check out the Sonoma cookbook. I also like cookbooks from church groups. Some of the best recipes can be found in those, if you weed through all the ones with condensed soup or jello, lol.

Jodi - ah, I hear ya! Neal and I had lots of years of 2nd hand furniture. Now we're back to wanting old furniture - antiques, that is. We have several cool pieces from his mom. I saw on you bio that you're from N. Central Indiana. I'm from the southwest part of the state, about 60 miles south of Terre Haute.

Marti - wah! How come you and the other ladies get snow when I'm the one that wants it?? I can't wait to get some and go out and make an angel in it. :carrot: So when you mention your walk, are you talking about your treadmill? That's a lot tougher than walking outdoors.

Michelle - how's Oreo? I'm sure hoping the little one has taken a turn for the better.

Sassy - YAY for a zero balance on your credit card. That's always a good feeling!

Cristina - I had to laugh about your dealings with the crazies at Walmart, hahaha. And it's not even a full moon, lol. I was in line at Penney's too, and had to leave. I wanted them to special order a rug that they had on sale, but were out of. I decided to just order it one line. The wind here is just awful! I went to the mailbox and about got blown away, and let me tell you, that's a STRONG wind, teehee.

A big hello to anyone else reading this.

I did my shopping today, and had lunch with my niece Carol, too. Makenzie was "grandma's girl" for the day, and I had lots of fun with her. We saw some Valentine's Day shirts, so I got one each for her and her 2 sisters. Too cute!

I'm still OP, and the water is going well. I need to step up the exercises, but it's hard with a bad foot.

Have a great evening, ladies!

:carrot: Hello to ALL!!!

Sassy, Yes..I thought Queen Latifia looked beautiful too!! AND she did an awesome job!! I wish I could say I had extra money:-) It is such a tight week!!

Jules -thanks for sharing..I can relate to getting so caught up in EVERY THING I is life has turned into a calorie and BTW..I did great yesterday...good thing that every day is a new day:-)

Jane--Hope you are well...

Jodi -Welcome have stumbled upon a good group..I haven't been here long, but they have embraced me as if I have been here for months!!

Marti, SNOW..I have to admit I am jealous--except that we get it so seldom there are certain foods and drinks that I would feel compelled to consume with my DS that it is probably a good thing We don't have any:-) Pretty cool about the photo shoot...AND I love you daughters name..very unique

Christina- LOL you had the kind of day I had..just had that cloud over me I guess...It begins to get comical after a while:-)

Michelle,--I too will be praying for that puppy.

Hi Sue and Kathy,

My day was long and I am so glad it is over...even better that I get to work remote tomorrow and am off on it will feel like a 4 day weekend. I feel like I need it. I also feel like I have done a good job of sticking to my eating plan..(not the exercise)..I guess the scales will tell the story on Sunday. If I can wait LOL I will check in during the day to say hello since I will be home..Take Care

01-11-2007, 08:29 PM
Vann--I agree, today I was bad at lunch but I think it was because I didn't eat any breakfast this morning and then went and ate a cupcake and then we went to Pizza Hut for lunch--I borrowed from my WW flex points and I think I will be okay but I am hoping my weigh in is a minus tomorrow morning, if not then next week will be better!!

Jane--I have some church and band cookbooks, my husband teases me about having so many cookbooks when he only wants the same things all the time!!

Cristina--you had a busy day again no wonder you are tired. I have those weird days some times when all kinds of random strange things happen.

Marti--be careful driving in the snow!! yes I only got two days off--when i started my current job they asked if they thought I would have trouble with the 10 hour days--I had to laugh and tell them that I usually ended up working more than the 10 hour shift all 5 days when I was a manager.

Michelle--I hope your grandpuppy gets better soon!!

Sassy--I used to freak my DH with my nighttime wanderings and nightmares, but I haven't had any in years...funny how your post reminded me. My brother sleeps and yells in his sleep and he's a big guy at 6'6''--there's one guy st the firehall who won't stay the night when my brother does cause he scared him so bad one night.

jodi--I am starting my second round of WW too.

Tammy--I noticed that you live in central MD--I grew up in Boonsboro in Washington County.

New Grey's tonite--I am excited!!

01-11-2007, 09:32 PM
Thank you everyone for the warm welcomes :-)

You know when I went thru WW the first time they had people raise their hands on who had been there before. I remember looking around and thinking what is the deal, this is sooo easy, that won't be me. Hmph. So my first meeting this week they asked that question and there I was with MY hand in the air. I don't know what it is, it's not a hard concept to grasp, but my goodness so easy to fall back into old habits.

I must say though that this week it has been fairly easy to get back into eating within points- well it helps that they changed the plans and I actually 2 more pts a day- lol Funny how I can treat those points like gold.

Was busy with working today and I didn't get to eat a real lunch. But I made a really good Oven Fried Chicken tonight that didn't cost much in points at all.

Anyhow, Jane I live about 60 miles North of Indy.

I have yet to start exercising, been thinking of it, but not a whole lot of time so far this week. Any tips, hints on how to get started? That is something I never did get into when I did WW before.

01-11-2007, 11:16 PM
Hey Chicks!

Michelle -- YW hon.

Marti -- Eww yuck. We are getting nasty rain and storms coming our way and a possible chance of snow on Monday? Take Care!!

Cristina -- I'm not the largest in the family, but not the smallest neither! :p I will never ever be skinny as my parents are. I am just not built like them at all! lol. I am built exactly like my grandmothers.....

LOL @ the Banana guy. :cb: Maybe he thought you looked like you needed a banana? lmaoooo! Evil looks eh? I would have just smiled like you did and waved at her! hee hee.

Jane -- Thanks. Glad you had fun with your neice and Makenzie. ;)

Vann - Yes Queen Latifah looked very nice and did a great job. :) Yes the extra $$ will be nice, we worked very hard for it, that is for sure! ;) Enjoy your "4" day weekend! :D

Jules -- I remember once when I was in a teenager, I woke up in my room standing in front of my closet! It was dark so it totally freaked me out because I had no idea where I was!! I finally felt my way over and flipped the light on, luckily my door to my bedroom was closed, other wise hard telling where I would have ended up!!!!! lol. That is the only time I remember waking up from sleep walking. So not sure if I have done it any other times or not. Hey who knows maybe I have a whole other life when I'm sleeping! lol.

Hey Jodi -- Yes I think we all can understand how it feels to "slip back" to bad habits.......I have stopped drinking soda so many times for even months and then I go right back to it!!!! Bad Habits die hard I guess. lol.

Well another night, another $1.........(working) :p I am soooooo tired :tired: for some reason. I didn't want to get up today. But I got up, took a shower, and made it into work. When DH went outside to smoke he noticed a guy sitting in his car, no big deal, figured he was waiting on someone, well we went to leave for work, an hour later, he was still there! So we stopped by the Apt. Complex Office and told the maintenance man, he was going to go and say something to him. Very weird though.

Take care all!

Good evening, ladies...

Had a few mintues so thought I would get on the 'puter. Besides, the way they are talking we are going to lose electricity so...if you don't hear from me for days send help, lol. I guess they are expecting this to be a bad and messy ice/snow storm.

JANE...maybe this stuff that is supposed to hit us will head your way in a few days. Of course you probably don't want the ice...I don't either. And yes, this wind is/was horrible! Had to go in the back today and coming up the stairs on the deck I had to grab something to hold onto. I could barely walk and I am a big girl, lol. Bet the girls loved their valentine shirts. was a strange day for sure, lol. WTG on sticking to your eating plan! :carrot:

SASSY...I always thought Queen Latifah was pretty. And it is amazing the difference in her body since having the breast reduction. I would love to have one!

JODI...sorry, I don't have any tips for exercising. I have a hard time sometimes doing it. I did join It Figures which is like Curves for women and knowing that I am paying for that monthly makes me go. But, I have taken breaks from it. That's one thing that helps me...taking breaks from it when I get bored with it. I try not to take more than a week or two. Although when DS was home for Christmas I didn't go the whole two weeks he was home, and then decided I would just go back after New year's. Took a whole month and I think that's the longest I've taken in a while. But I don't like exercising, and I don't like water. I guess what keeps me going is just the fact that it is something I know I have to do. My problem is the eating, I need to work on that a little harder. But start slow...don't feel like you have to go out and go full force right off the bat.

JULES... pizza and a cupcake sounds like a good lunch to me, lol! The keep showing those pizza hut commercials and that stuff is looking good. And for some reason I have been wanting cake...don't know what is upw ith that. When we were at Sams last night I told V let's get away fromt his stuff because I am really wanting some cake. We were over by the pies, cakes and cookies which happens to be next to the vitamins.

Hi to everyone else

I think i am going to turn in early tonight...I am pooped. Take care ladies

Okay so if we don't hear from ya shall I send out Johnny Depp to come and find you? lol. I have always thought Q.L. was very pretty too and I liked her attitude too. She is always confident in herself too.

Have a good sleep, could get a few winks for me please? lol.

Nightie night!

01-11-2007, 11:25 PM
Hi ya SASSY! You were posting as I was.

No, not Johnny Depp, not a fan. Maybe George Clooney or Chad Kruger (sp?) from Nickelback.

I'm not built like anyone in my family, not even grandparents, cousins etc. don't know where I get these genes...maybe the mail man, lol!

I guess he thought i did need a banana, lol! Of course I always buy bananas but I wasn't to the fruit yet to get any, lol.

Weird about the guy sitting in the car. Too many weird things happening the last few me the creeps. After that girl disappeared in our area I just saw on the news a 13 yr old boy was missing in Missouri I think it was.

Well, hope you have a good night and get some rest.

01-11-2007, 11:28 PM
Good evening ladies!

Well after spending 40 minutes taking my time writing to everyone and responding to your post I got bumped off the board and lost my entire reply. @#$%&* Anyhoo, I'll try to be a little faster tomorrow and retype my post. A little too tired tonight to start all over again. I've got a busy day tomorrow taking my 72 yr old Mom to visit her new boyfriend who actually was an old boyfriend 40 years ago. Yes my life is a soap opera!!

Is there a time limit for posting a quick reply??? Obviously, I wasn't Quick enough!!

01-11-2007, 11:36 PM
Hi Tammy!

Sorry you lost your post, I hate when that happens. As far as I know there is no time limit. But Jane or Marti would know better than me.

I think that is cool your 72 yr. old mom has a boyfriend. My neighbor is 83 and I love how she just gets around town. I hope to be the same way when I reach her age. Isn't everyone's life a soap opera, lol? I know mine seems like it at times.

Take care and have a good evening. Hopefully, tomorrow you don't lose another post. Nighty, night.

01-12-2007, 01:17 AM
Evening ladies--

It's not even quite 9:00 yet and I've already had my dinner, got my walk in, and clean the entire kitchen, while doing laundry! Talk about mulitasking! :D I got to come home a couple hours earlier due to the weather. The snow was beautiful and all, but it made everything wet. Easy to drive tonight it's suppose to get down to 18 degrees. That's too darn cold for all this wet stuff on the ground! I hope it's not too icy in the morning. I don't want to drive in it.

Anyway, enough about the weather already!

Sassy--It has taken me forever to figure out what "lmao" for some reason I kept seeing the "L" as an "I" and I was wondering what could that stand for???? Now I get it. Thanks for making my brain work a little!

Cristina--So funny about the banana guy! Maybe he was new and thought he'd try you out as one of the customers he needed to make contact with. Wonder how many people let know about the sale?? :dizzy: Speaking of banana's...I found one of my old magazines that has a bunch of banana nut bread recipes. I'm thinking that I might try send me over some of those .18 a pound banana's!

Jane--Are you absolutely crazy?? You WANT snow? Now if it would just stay off the roads, it would create such gorgeous winters. But since its so stubborn and wants to go where it wants....I'm not all for that. Great job w/staying OP. Don't worry about the exercise until your foot starts to heal. Otherwise, it'll take much longer. Need take care of yourself. Besides....doesn't it say somewhere that weightloss is 80% eating habits??

Vann--I've been wanting hot chocolate all day. But instead I grabbed myself a spiced cider. Probably not any better but it sure comforted me w/the cold. Monday is my WI day. I'm hoping I didn't gain the weight back that I lost. Not that I over indulged on anything...but it's been so long since an loss has happened that I get paranoid. (silly thinking I know)

Jules--Are you a Grey's fan?? I have so many girls at work that are hooked on that show. When they had the season premiere, a group of them had a premiere party, even bought Grey's Anatomy T-shirt!:) I have to say, I have not seen one episode. (if I let the girls at work know...they'd have my head!)

Jodi--I haven't done WW, but I do own WW cookbooks. And I have noticed a big difference in my eating habits since using them. As for tips on exercise. I don't really have any, for me, I just HAD to make time for a walk. I spend over 30mins. walking and I make sure I hit 2miles before I'm done. And I just set my time every night at 10:00. I'm usually doing nothing but watching TV anyways so I thought it was time to use that time for something better. Seems to be working.

Tammy--Hmm...I don't know about if there is a time limit on the quick post. Next time just "post reply" and see if the same thing happens. If it does let us know and we'll chat w/the higher ups and get some answers for ya. As for you mother having a boyfriend...and an old boyfriend from 40yrs ago....that is a sweet story! I would like to hear more. Sounds so romantic.

Michelle--How's our puppy doing?? Keep us posted!

MaryKate--How you doing?

Kathy--Tiffie--and everyone else out there...hello!!

Ok..I need to get off of here, hubby just got home...time to snuggle. Have a great night!

01-12-2007, 02:46 AM
Cristina -- Oh okay George or Chad then. lol. Yeah you can't be too careful now a days, that is why we went to the Apt. Complex's office to report it because there are lots of children in our complex too and it was right when kids would be getting home from school and all that.......

Tammy -- it is very frustrating to say the least to type out a big long post and it gets lost in "Cyber Space". That is why I always copy mine before hitting the reply button, just to be safe! lol.

Marti -- Wow you make me tired just reading that! lol. And I don't think its possible to know every single abbreviation for online. But YW for making your "brain work" a little. lol. At least you got to come home early. Our co. gets us hotel rooms, they "say" to keep us "safe" but we all know its so they know we'll be in the next day! lol.

Have a Good Morning All! Only 2 hrs and 15 min. to go and I get to go home! :woohoo:

01-12-2007, 02:54 PM
Happy Friday!

SASSY...funny about your company. But, hey, it can be a sort of get away for you guys. Except that you have to wear the same clothes the next day. But really, how many companies would actually put their employee's up in a hotel? I wouldn't think very many. My mom works for the police station and when the weather is bad if they don't feel safe enough to drive to work themselves they will send a police officer to pick them up and then take them home. Of course with her it would probably be easier if she drove herself because she is always a nervous wreck when someone else is driving her, lol. So, does anyone know who the guy was? Did you guys find out from the mant. man if he went and talked to the guy. Too many weird people in the world for sure.

MARTI...stay warm and be safe driving to work. I am with you on the snow. Already started here this morning and you would not believe the wrecks I heard about on the radio. Not sure why people don't just slow down. And they involved 3-5 cars in each wreck, ugh. Hope no one was hurt. You are doing great with your walking. How do you manage to stay on the treadmill for the whole walk? I get so bored with the treadmill I have to break up my walks. I would rather just do it all and be done with it. That's why I enjoyed going to the park...once I started I had to finish, lol. Yeah, the banana guy was funny. I had passed by him and he looked at me and then turned his cart around and came toward me...kind of freaked me out because I wasn't sure what he was doing or wanted, lol. Forgot to mention the girl shopping in her pj's. I had to do a double take because I thought no, she is not shopping in her pj's. Sure enough she was...doggie house shows and all. I don't think I would have the nerve to go to Wal-Mart in my jammies. Yesterday was just a strange day.

HI to everyone else  Hope all is well with you ladies.

Nothing much going on with me today. Feeling a little under the weather and didn't go to It Figures. I don't know what's wrong, feeling kind of dizzy. So I thought I would just stay in and be lazy, sort of. I will do an exercise video later...have to do some sort of exercise. Started out snowing this morning and now we have a mix...frozen rain & snow. I was out earlier in it and boy, oh boy is it cold! I had to put some of that stuff on the walkway and deck (for Ernie when he goes potty) to melt the stuff so no one slips and falls. My thumb and index finger are still tingling from being out there. Not sure of the temp but with the wind blowing it is freezing. Going to do a load of laundry and make the bed...told ya I was being lazy, lol. Trying to stay warm. The high is supposed to be 27 but with the wind chill who knows what it is. Not going anywhere in this weather. That's about all I have. Not sure if I will make it here tomorrow. I will be doing laundry and house cleaning for the Open House Sunday. Don't really think anyone will show but we'll see. Anyway...take care ladies and I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Cristina[COLOR="Sienna"] I had joined Curves in like 2002 but I felt the women there were rude. I was paying for my daughter to go and she was like 9 at the time, but overweight and actually doing the reps like she was supposed to. Well I about got into it with some lady cause she didn't like her being there and made a rude comment. There were some other things going on there, so I just quit going.

Tammy- that is so cool about your mom having a boyfriend, esp one that she has found from the past.

JaneBite your tounge girl on wanting snow. But it sounds like it may be coming.

As for me today, my kids have a ballgame (pepband) tonight and dh asked me on a date. I have been real careful eating today so that we can go to dinner without me having to feel bad about what I am eating. I think I have done really well this week. :-) I can't wait for Monday morning for my first weigh in.

01-12-2007, 04:26 PM
A quick hello to all of you today. I am behind schedule on some things that need done, but wanted to check in on my buddies here.

Tammy - when you come here, in order to be remembered and also not get timed-out, you need to turn on your cookies. You should have had that option when you signed up. I think checking the "remember me" box when you sign in will do the trick. Let me know if that works, ok? Also, it's a good idea to "copy" your response every few paragraphs as you work on it, just in case. Just don't give up on us. :)

Have a good day, everyone, and if I get a chance, I'll bbl,

01-12-2007, 06:37 PM
I had 3 topics I subscribed to so I could keep up with them, and last night the other 2 were gone, just leaving me with this topic. I can't figure out what I did wrong with it. Is it maybe because noone has posted anything to them? Helppppp....

Btw... is anyone here on myspace?

01-12-2007, 07:30 PM
Hi Ladies

Well still no change with Oreo. The vet called my DD today and said they got the new stronger meds yesterday afternoon and started her on them, but still no change as of yet. The vet said that she is eating and playful, just that there is still the fluid and infection in her lungs. They will be taking new xrays on Sunday to see if there is any improvement, which will make a week that she's been there. Her brother was brought back in yesterday with the same thing again, so it's just a very sad situation right now.

TAMMY...That also kept happening to me, but if you do check the little box that says "remember me" you never get logged off and there is no time limit.:^:

01-13-2007, 12:05 AM
Good evening ladies!

Thanks to all for the tips on not losing my posts and I'll try them all! It sounds like several of you are having lots of winter weather with ice and dangerous driving conditions so please stay safe. heart goes out to you and your daughter with your puppy. I got a yorkie mix two years ago that was quite sick and I refused to return him to the breeder for fear that he would die. He is now a spunky lovable little guy that we cannot live without. My prayers are with you and hope that your little one continues to improve.

Well ladies, I really blew the diet tonight!! My daughter and her boyfriend gave me and dh a gift card for "The Melting Pot". Don't know if you have one in your area but it's a fondue restaurant where you do all the cooking at your table. All when well with the salad, cheese fondue with dippers and the main course that we cooked in an herb broth instead of oil, but then came the dessert. Dark chocolate with all kinds of brownie bites, cheesecake, fruit and marshmellow that was totally overboard. Any yup, I ate every bite!! Ok, so I'm back to behaving myself tomorrow. Wish me luck.

I have to work a night shift tomorrow night, my first in almost 6 months. Hopefully it will be quiet and I spend a little more time on the forum and get to know everyone a little better.

Good night and pleasant dreams to all.

Hey all.

I just found an interesting article:

Good Morning Ladies,

OK..I couldn't wait..I weighed today and it was 3lbs on the dot..I have to admit I am pleased..I know it is only the 1st week, but I think it is still good for me and my age...I also got on the furniture moving kick and have been totally redoing my bedroom..feels kinda neat to know at the end of it, I will have a fresh space which is really my retreat:-) I found this neat website where you can have written inpsirations on the wall..I am thinking about it..I need all the reminders about the wonderful things life has to offer!! website is --pretty cool;) The weather here is VERY different from other parts of the country and I don't want to make anybody mad, but it might be 70 today and Sun is Shining beautifully!! I plan to take advantage:-)
Missed you guys yesteday...glad to say hello to EVERYONE

Jules --I can certainly relate to the Pizza thing!! Pizza is one of my biggest fact we are plotting a Pizza night tomorrow night, but the neat thing about this one is that my son is helping plan the calories and what are the healthier we have it figured out and we did it together!! I want him to learn that we have control of our lives! Yeah!!

Jodi-- Would love for you to share you recipe for the chicken..I looked for a :"mock" fried chicken yesterday and couldn't find anything that looked worth the extra calories

Christine--I did have a breast reduction 2 years ago...I didn't know until I was having severe back pain that insurance will FREQUENTLY pay for it...It was approved in 2 weeks and I had it 2 weeks later...It really has changed the way I feel about myself..and the way my clothes fit. Also have go with the George Clooney Camp..he is devine!!

Tammy-Wow...I am happy for your Mom..a little drama never hurt anyone. My Mom is 75..she lives near me and acts helpless...I feel like I have 3 children sometimes:-) AND I love the Melting Pot..I haven't been in ages, but anyone would have to indulge..not doubt about it!! Every day is a new day!!

Marti -Guess what..I found 25 calorie Hot is pretty good...You started me thinging and I looked yesteday..I am learning so many new things to pass along to my DS...

Michele--I will continue the prayer for Oreo...She is just too adorable to be going through such turmoil..not to mention what it is doing to all of you guys!!
So sorry!

Sassy, Jane, Kathy and Sue--Happy Saturday and I hope you ALL have a great weekend!!

Good Morning Ladies--

I'm up early to take my female to the vet. What a way to sleep in on the weekend! She needs her yearly shots and James wanted to make sure she got Saturday it is. Where is my coffee???

Sassy--They had that option for some that live farther than I do. But the weather wasn't as bad as people portrayed it to be. I ended up going to work and staying a full shift yesterday. Ice and all.......

Cristina--There are crazy drivers everywhere! I'm sure people think I am at times! :dizzy: I did see three cars in the ditch on my way to work. I live 30mins away from work so that's a quite a lot of cars to have skidded off to the ditch! Looking better outside already.

Jodi--I believe you'll get updates on thread you subscribe to as people post. Otherwise, nothing. I don't subscribe to any threads. We constantly renew our threads in here so I'd have to keep subscribing to each. Plus....I don't think I ever got it to really work for me. Once you've been here awhile though....just popping to the threads you frequent will be a quick thing!

Michelle--I hope the stronger meds help Oreo. Nothing like a sick puppy....keeping her in my thoughts!

Tammy--I've never heard of Melting Pot but it sure sounds delicious and worth it! You have to give yourself an indulgance day. As long as you continue forward afterwards you should be fine. I would have been in heaven w/the dark chocolate!!

Vann--I will have to look around for that hot chocolate! Sounds tastey. Are you counting calories or counting points? Forgive me for forgetting who is doing what around here. I've been counting calories, but mainly measuring portions......literally. I pulled my little scale out and it's very handy.

Jane--Hope you get more time today to post! Come back when you can!

Ok...I need to take the dog to the Vet so I'm outta here!

Have a great weekend if I don't get back on!

Hi Vann- my chicken isn't crispy, but I thought it was very good. Here is the recipe... Well the original recipe calls for butter, but I just sprayed the pan with cooking spray really well. Also I used the spices I had on hand and used pieces of skinless boneless chicken breasts

1 T butter 2/3 C bisquick mix 1 1/4 tsp salt 1/4 tsp pepper 1 1/2 tsp paprika 3 lbs chicken

Heat over to 425*. Melt butter in 13X9 pan. Stir together the bisquick. paprika, salt and pepper and coat chicken in it. Place meaty side down in dish. Bake for 35 min, turn chicken and cook 15 min longer. Makes 5 servings.

WAY TO GO with the 3 lbs. I am also on week one and I am hoping for a 3-5 loss. I feel like I am doing really well so far- at least on the eating part of it.

Michelle how do you have your tracker set up to do lbs lost and not your actual weight? I figured out how to get it to say 0 and the other end 50, but how do you get it to keep up with the actual lbs lost (right now I am at 0 lbs lost)

Marti hope your vet trip went well this morning.

Jane hope you get time in your schedule to sit back and relax- which of course means talking to us girls- lol

Well this morning I sat and worked on my Avon taxes. I started out last yr really well was going to not have a repeat of last yr. Well I opened my ledger and I had done my business paperwork up til Feb- way to go- blah! I worked on it about 2 hrs this morning and I think basically I am done. I made more money than I thought I did- lol

Hello ladies...

I hate posting at the end of the thread, ugh. Not sure what post we are at, oh well.

Aaaahhh, MICHELLE...I am so sorry to hear about Oreo. She must be getting better though if she is eating and being playful. I will keep her in my prayers. Lots of hugs to you , your DD and Oreo.   reminded me that ERnie is do for his yearly shots and chekc-up. I thought it was in January but maybe not. They always send a reminder so I usually wait for it. He HATES going, poor doggy.

SASSY...I just saw that story on the world news a couple of nights ago. I have always thought the models were waaaaaaay too skinny, not healthy at all. I've always liked Christie Brinkley though because she is one of the few that wasn't actually stick thin, but still pretty. They just sent the wrong message to young girls everywhere and that is not good. Of course I can look at a magazine and know that it is not realistic to look like that. But there are lots of people who think all women should, poppycock!

VANN...I have always thought George Clooney was a hottie! The weird thing is my brother kind of looks like him, lol. DD said, what does that say about you, lol. Okay, I'm not a weirde, really. WTG ont he 3 pounds! WOOHOO :bravo: :woohoo: You're doing GREAT! I should check into our insurance but I bet ours won't pay for it. I am just a 38C/40C depending on the bra but I feel I am too big and a lot of clothes don't look right on me because they stick out and makes them (certain clothes) look sloppy. If I wore skin tigh clothes it would look better but I am not into the skin tight them a little loose. I would like to be a size smaller for sure.

TAMMY...I've not heard of that place but I can see how you would go overboard. Sounds like a fun place and good food too! I'll have to see if there is one around somewhere.

JODI...It figures is like Curves. The lady that owns the place is a friend of DS's and that is the reason I went there. She was first in town and then a Curves opened. And she does not mind kids going. There's a woman that goes with her teenage DD. I like it because it is just for women and there's women of all ages and everyone is nice.

Hi everyone else

Nothing going on here. It is icky outside, not that I was going anywhere, lol. Supposed to be cleaning the house but not really into doing it. Jason is doing his laundry right now so I have to wait until he is finished to do mine. Like I am sad about that, lol. I will get it all done before the day is over. I was kind of hoping the realtor would cancel the open house but she has already put an ad in the paper, about a week ago so. And I noticed sometime between yesterday afternoon and this morning she put up an open house sign on the sign in the yard and one on two corners so, it's on. I know there are some people who go out in this kind of weather but really, I don't think anyone is going to show up tomorrow. We'll see...Anywho...that's all I have. A boring day watching tv. Thinking about starting the fireplace. I like it but the thing is when it's going it gets so hot in the living room area and then the furnace quits coming on and so the other rooms get cold. But I love having a fire, it's so nice and cozy. Maybe I'll find a good book to read in between some cleaning.

Have a good weekend ladies!
