Well, the holidays are over and we’re into a brand new year! So how about a new mini goal? Valentine’s Day is the next holiday so I ask you - Where do you want to be by Valentine’s Day? We can get to our big goal of the year (Christmas/2007) by small goals in between. So, come on ladies, let’s get going on our 1st goal of the new year – Valentine’s Day!

Please check in at least once a week with your progress - if you have a loss, or are the same, or "gained" (remember, confession is good for the soul) ... whatever your goal is just check in and let us all know how you are doing.

You can make your goal anything you want. If you don't want to set a number to lose, but just want to make better choices foodwise or get into a healthy habit - post with us. We welcome anyone! WE CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!

Here's my Valentine Day goals:

1) hurry and get well so I can get back to CURVES!
2) journaling my daily food intake
3) drink at least 80 oz water or more every day
4) hopefully .. lose at least 5 lbs! (doesn't sound like a lot but believe me, I lose soooooo slow that 5 lbs would be an awesome amount for me)!

OK .. that's mine - anyone else??

I'm new and I'd like to join!!

My Valentine's Day goal is to reach 160 lbs. I hope to lose 5 lbs by the end of Jan. I'm taking it 5 lbs at a time until I plateau or reach a weight I'm comfortable with - whichever comes first.

The way I plan on doing this is to:

a. Follow a low GI diet (going shopping for food today!)
b. Drink more water
c. Incorporate strength training
d. Make my morning exercise count! (walk briskly, start to get some jogging in)

I'm so excited...can't wait for those lbs to come offffffff!!

I am not new to this site but new to this challenge.

1) To exercise everyday
2) to get in my water everyday
3) to lose my christmas weight (about 4 pounds)
4)keep up with my fitday

:hug: I am NEW to this whole thing. All I know is 'I need some suggestions!' I want to lose 10 pounds by V Day. I lost 38 pounds in a little over a year - then when I went to 'maintain' I gained 20!!!! pounds in 4 months. The weight loss was a good plan - eat right - eat less.... What am I doing wrong???? And how do you get all those cute little things on your posting? I don't even know how to get one of those weight lines.

Hey good idea CJ,

I am up for this challenge, I have not done well this holiday,had a gain of 5 lbs when I went to my WW meeting. This was for 2 weeks, but if I could get that back off that would be great.

My mini Valentines Day Challenge will be:

1. To get back to Curves, as a matter of fact I did go back the day before yesterday, and plan to go again tomorrow and hopefuly at least 3 times to 5 times a week.

2. To drink lots more water, like I did before the holidays hit.

3. To make better choices food wise and just try to lose whatever I can, even a few pounds. We have almost 6 weeks so hopefully I will be starting to fall into place for losing some more weight in 2007.

Anyone else care to join in, just jump right in and post with us.

My goal is just to keep my weight the same. It would be great to loose 5#, but with my new job, I just want to NOT gain weight, until I can come up with an excersise plan and eating plan that will work for me.

my goal. Loose 10 lbs by V-day...rid my horrible habit of drinking soda.
drink at least 6-8 glasses of water daily
exercise 5 times a week
eat at least 4 servings fruit/veggies.

1 pound down, haven't done so well with fitday. Haven't done well witrh my water either and most days I got my exercise in one of the days I didn't I cleaned the house from top to bottom so that was work out in itself.

Okay, I'm new here but I'd like to set a goal for myself also.

I want to loose 10 lbs before Valentine's day
I want to maintain my Fit Day
I want to drink atleast 6 glasses of water a day and limit myself to 2 sodas.
I want to have planned and started on an exercise routine.

I am not really new to this website this is my second time around. I would like to join this mini goal. I currently weigh 256 ( as of this morning) and i have a couple goals....
1. Drink more water, less soda
2. walk more
3. count calories (1,300)

KimV-I know you have been doing great from our Wanabee thread, but I will let you post and tell everyone the great news.

Sunnigummi-The best of luck to you and your GI diet. What is that? I think I have heard of it, but am not sure what it involves.Let us all know.

NorthStar-What plan were you on? There are so many plans and whatever works for you. I am doing Weight Watchers and love it. But you can just do whatever plan works for you. Even if you just cut back that is sure to have results. Hope you do great.

Momto4awesomekids-Wow it looks like you have really stepped up in the exercise dept. I think that the regular exercise combined with the weight training will really help you out. It should pay off big time.

judee-I think the more water and less soda will work out fine. I know when I cut even my diet pop than I do much better weight loss wise. I know you will do great.

4me4ben4will-Same to you, I see you are cutting back your soda too. Which will work out well for you.

canadian mom-Hooay for you, 1 pound down is great. I know that cleaning the house as you did from top to bottom is probably more exercise than you would get doing almost anything else. With all that bending and moving you did that is sure to burn the calories.

GatorgalstuckinGA-You too are getting rid of the soda, that seems to be what everyone is doing this time around. It will surely help. I too find that when I eat more veggies and fruits I do so much better.

CJ-I know you have really been doing great going back to Curves. Me to, I love how I feel when I get done and am heading out he door. Keep up the great work. How you feeling? I hope much much better.

I did good at my Weight Watchers meeting today. I had gained 5 lbs over the holidays for 2 weeks, since I was out of town one of the weeks and couldn't go to my meeting.

Anyways today I got 2.8 lbs of it off, so only have another 2.2 lbs to go to get the rest of it out. I also have been doing good on my other Valentines goals. I have been back going to Curves and have been going almost everyday. Also I have been getting in my water and have made much better food choices as well. So I am on my way. WE CAN DO THIS!

Ok I am really new at this, but I want in! I hope I can find this again. I want to lose 6 pounds by my daughters 1 st birthday party which is on the 11 of Feb so that is close enough I think to V DAY. I have 20 pounds to lose now from having 2 kids and after gaining 70 that is pretty good I think... I am the unofficial ww girl! A friend gave me her stuff when she gave up and I followed it after not losing the weight from my 1 st kids (4 years later) and it worked! I have since started it again after having my second. I can not afford meeting so I am hoping you guys can help too! I am a single mom and have no family around to help so I am hoping this does. Thanks! I want to be thin and feel better about myself!

I'm sorry to not post individual - I just wanted to jump in and welcome you all to our goal thread - glad to hear everyone has such good plans to follow and all your goals sound doable! Congrats to all who have lost so far. Keep up to good work. Also, please feel free to come join us also on the Thin wannabee's weekly chit-chat thread - we start a new thread every Monday and would really love to have you come chat with us - whether it's about your diet or whatever you wish. We would love to get to know you better.

Way to go on getting most of those holiday lbs off! Don't you just love Curves? I sure missed it when I was so sick ... Next week I hope to feel good enough to go every day again instead of every other day this week.

Well, guess I have a new challange for myself. I just went and signed up on the In Shape Indiana website for a 10 week challange to loose 10 pounds. I believe it starts on Monday, Jan. 15 (got to go back to the website and check that out), so it will end on March 25. That would mean my goal for Valentine's Day is to loose about 4 - 5 pounds.

Well I have been getting exercise in but still haven't been back to fitday and my water sucks or at least keeping track of it I need to get a 2 littree bottle so I know how much I am drinking 4 sure. My wieght in is Sunday I hope I am a pound closer.

Well I've been cooped up in the house for 3 days because of an ice storm. I haven't done so well on any of my goals. Been drinking sodas like crazy and sent hubby to town for cheese fries and chicken fried steak last night. Well today is a new day. Back on track. Won't weigh again until this coming Friday. So, we'll see what happens then. Keep goin' ladies!

I am down 4 pounds.. may have to up the stakes to 10 pounds (don't I wish) by VDay! Following the old weight watchers counting calories is not fun, but I am doing it! I want to buy a new bathing suit this year and not be embarrased to wear it! 4me4ben4will, a breakdown once in awhile is ok! I cheat once a week one meal (usually sat) it helps so you don't lose your sanity! Good Luck!

I did pretty good this week lost another 1.8 lbs when I weighed in at my Weight Watchers meeting. So I only have about 1/2 pound to lose to get off the remainder of the 5 lbs I gained during the holidays. So I am getting there.

aprincess00-Wow, congratulations on your 4 lb weight loss, you are almost to your goal, so you can be sure by your daughters birthday you will be there.

4me4ben4will-Don't worry about yesterday, today is a new day. I too have days I don't do so well, but I just get back on track the next day and start over. YOU WILL GET THERE!

canadian mom-You are doing a great job getting back trying to drink you water and exercise too.

Kim-How are you doing on Shape Indiana? Living in Indiana, I see the commercials on TV, the one with the Mayor and that Pam Smith from The Biggest Loser show, also from Indiana. Good luck, you will do great.

Hey girlfriend - WTG on your weight loss the last couple weeks! That's good you got rid of the holiday pounds! Yes, I am back at Curves - 5 days a week again and doing 3 times around.

congrats on your 4 lb weight loss, you're doing great!

Hey don't fret - if you fall off the wagon just pick yourself up and start all over again! We all have days like that. It's hard to stay on program when you are cooped up in the house. You'll be fine, I'm sure of it. You're probably back on track as I write this.

I am still doing good with exercising, water well I am getting better (I am sick of water so I am also driniking crystal light this is heloing) and today is day 2 or 3 of using fitday so I am slowly getting back on track.

oh yeah no pounds lost :(

Well ladies, I had gained a pound back and had 6 pounds to go. I've lost that and am back to having 5 pounds to loose before V-day. I can do it. I have just GOT to get some exercise in. I'm still not doing any and it's totally sabotaging my weightloss efforts. I WILL figure out a way to get it done. That's my goal for this week is to exercise atleast three times. It's already Wednesday and I haven't done any yet. Help!!

2 1/2 weeks and 5 pounds. I don't know if I can do it but I'm SURE going to try.

I am doing good with calories , exercise and most days my water and I am ganing. This is so peeing me off. It is very discouraging.I am hpoing it is cause tom came a week early this month and my body is messed up from that. I hope evryone else is doing better than i am.

Hey sorry haven't been around... down 2 more pounds, but at a stand still so bought hand weights and going to make myself work out when my baby goes to sleep! She will be 1 tomorrow :( Taking the day off and spending it with her while the other one is at school! Then softball practice and dinner to celebrate! Alot of work for a single mom, but I love my kids and can not wait to cheat for dinner! I have been looking forward to it!
You guys are all doing a great job! It will come off and we can do it! Always hard getting rid of the last bit! I hate it! I wanted to lose these last 15 pounds by her birthday, but oh well! I will take what I can get! Good luck everyone!

Well I didn't make it. Lost 7 out of 10. Not bad. My goal now is to get rid of the next 3 before spring break. 3 weeks and 3lbs. No problem!

7 pounds is awesome!!! I didn't loose anything these past 2 weeks, but I have been bad the whole time!! I want to lose 5-6 by the end of March.
